Yelan - Genshin Impact all done! You can find the full speedpainting on my YouTube channel youtube.com/JRsJunkDrawer . I had a lot of fun painting in some of the details like the fur and clothing on this artwork. It’s been a while since I painted fur, so it was a good chance to dive back into the process. I also decided to go with a more abstract background for this piece… And I think it worked out pretty good. After all of that I was about halfway through the painting process when the new update for #GenshinImpact dropped, so I figured… sure why not I’ll hop on the game for a few minutes and try my luck with a handful of summons. And I actually got #Yelan! It’ll take a while to put the proper amount of time into getting the right gear for her, but it was the perfect coincidence that I pulled her while painting fanart of her! Comment below suggestions for what her name should be⬇️ This character and project started out as just practice painting eyes… but I love the sketch so much I can’t help but turn it into a full OC painting… complete with backstory. I was thinking of using the backstory as part of the commentary for the full YouTube video. Despite being an original character she is inspired by Genshin Impact and I picture her living along the coastline within the borders of Liyue. Probably some ways north of the harbor, far away enough that her residence could be considered isolated. Her profession would be either historian or archaeologist… haven’t picked one yet but if you have thoughts please include them in the comments. . .
