Gosh I hate texting.
Like, just call me.
I can't read your expressions or emotions or vibes, nor can I have genuine conversation, over text. Text me to let me know you're about to call. Let me respond in the affirmative. Then call you. I'll do the same for you.
If you need to tell me something difficult, or if I need to tell you something difficult, yes, let's write it out, because heaven knows that's so much easier, but let's get together and talk about it afterwards.

More random tropes that I fucking love: Becoming the mask you wore.
Like oh shit, this character who was sent to spy somewhere under a false identity suddenly realises they've started to genuinely become the person they claimed to be? Someone who's been telling the same lies about who they are for so long that they're actually forgetting that the story isn't true? Finding themselves genuinely doing the things they pretend to do in front of people, when they're alone and nobody's watching? Answering to a name that wasn't supposed to be theirs without thinking?
Ooohh-hoh-hoh, you lost track of yourself in pretending to be someone else? You were only supposed to impersonate somebody, a plausible background and a name you came up with on the spot, and now that the people you were supposed to infiltrate have become your true companions? You lost yourself in the game you played, and no you no longer know who you truly are, and where your true loyalties lie? And both sides would mark you a traitor if you came out with the truth. On a scale of one to ten, how bad did you fuck up.
Fuck that is a good trope. Never seen it done badly. Pour that shit on a table and I'll chop it into lines and snort it.

You guys rlly don't realise how much knowledge is still not committed to the internet. I find books all the time with stuff that is impossible to find through a search engine- most people do not put their magnum opus research online for free and the more niche a skill is the less likely you are to have people who will leak those books online. (Nevermind all the books written prior to the internet that have knowledge that is not considered "relevant" enough to digitise).
Whenever people say that we r growing up with all the world's knowledge at our fingertips...it's not necessarily true. Is the amount of knowledge online potentially infinite? Yes. Is it all knowledge? No. You will be surprised at the niche things you can discover at a local archive or library.

There is absolutely no reason to not have a stargazing sunbathing raindancing patio on top of every house, and I'm immensely disappointed that there aren't.
I don't understand how people survive in this society. We need to respect the admiration of beauty as more than a recreational activity, but a constantly beneficial one.

Heyyy, I didn't know Good Kid was popular among the MCYT community.
That's nice. They're one of my newer favourite bands, thanks to some sick animations that introduced me to their music. (Thanks, xray.alpha.charlie)
They have a very consistent sound. Not a lot of experimentation in their music, from what I've heard, but that's not a bad thing, necessarily. They know what they're going for and they stick to it loyally. I always know a new song of theirs will be another jam.

And the most important thing to remember is that you have time. Time to discover new people and new projects and new places; time to heal from your past and your wounds. You might feel like you’re getting nothing done and nothing is happening, but you have time to discover your soul. It will happen for you <3

All & Everyone, Everyone & All, meet Francesca Saverio Cabrini, my new human hero.
Tumblr media
She accomplished so much in her lifetime, and I strive to do as much good in the world as she did.
Recently, Angel Studios made an entire film about her, and I think showing it in theatres during March was very intentional. I cried while watching it, which doesn't happen with a lot of films. It was fabulous, and I highly recommend you see it.
Cabrini was an Italian nun who lived in a time when Italian immigrants were hated by the people already living in America.
As a teen, when she first wanted to become a nun, she was denied several times by different places because she had a weak constitution due to a near-death experience she had as a child, when she almost drowned.
Denied her request to start and lead a mission in China, she was allowed to go to New York, to start an orphanage there.
Once there, in a town called Five Points, she found that even the rats had it better than the children in the streets, most of which were Italian immigrants. She started the orphanage with what little she had, but it became quickly apparent that there wasn't nearly enough room.
Despite great odds, she founded several orphanages, and eventually even fought to establish a hospital, hiring mostly Italians, with the aim to provide the highest services, to both the American socialite and Italian immigrant, and run entirely by women.
She went on to found many hospitals of the same nature, all over the world, even deep in China where she had originally longed to serve.
She had to fight every moment of her life to be allowed to do good, simply because faithless men did not believe what she proposed was even possible, much less worth it.
She was not always alone, though. She made genuine friends along the way, and it's important to know that she embarked on the journey with fellow Sisters by her side. She did not try to do things alone. She relied on their support many times, as any wise, good leader ought.
Remember her name, and her example, and teach all those you know about this incredible person who deserves far more recognition.
To learn more about her, I highly recommend you watch the film, and you can also read her Wikipedia article:

Getting over seasonal depression, and getting help for my anxiety, and finally moving to a nicer home, I just... Drink in every moment. I'm so happy. Processing things properly and facing things with effective philosophies is so nice, and being in a new and better place, both physically and mentally, is so delicious.
I laid down to take a nap this morning after early morning classes, and I just can't, because I'm too busy thinking about how grateful I am to be where I am. I can take whatever the world throws at me. Bring it on, sunshine.

Whenever it's cloudy, I like to think the sun is just having a bad hair day. It's okay, sun. You can wear your uh... Cloud beanie if it makes you more comfortable. We love you anyways.

The production value here is off the charts but this is also literally just what it feels like to play Uno.

and yknow what i also don’t like the idea that abusers are these like. horrible monsters and there’s something ~wrong with them~ cuz no “normal” person could ever do such a thing like. my abusers are normal people. not even particularly bad people, really, aside from… well, yknow. there’s not some special ingredient that makes abusers abusers. they’re just people, doing fucked up things. you wouldn’t know it from looking at them, there’s no one specific reason they do what they do. it’s weird to try and like… explain it all away like that.
and actually yknow what i’ve always hated the dehumanization of abusers or bad people or whatever cuz like. no! they aren’t monsters, they’re people! this is what humans have the capacity to do! there’s nothing special about it! don’t try to distance ‘nice, normal folks’ from ‘monsters’ cuz we’re the same goddamn thing; we all have free will and the ability to choose how we act and some people choose fucked up stuff and that’s human, unfortunately
