I always imagined that the barrier looks less like, well, a barrier and more like a giant piss-off force field around the area
So even though monsters lived in the ruins for so long, no one bothered to climb/dig their way out the other end. Or if they did, they found out the barrier was still there the hard way
So yeah, martlet never bothered to try flying out from that way. You'd need a monster and human soul to get out after all.
After frisk fell though....
Barrier's made of anti-monster magic. Y'know, to stop monsters from like trying to bash their way out through brute force I guess. Most monsters begin to feel physically weak as they near the barrier, which makes flying out with a human child on your back just that much harder

Something from recently - a sketch of a sub-timeline to Unicosm (Minicosm)!
Context: The Timeline when created gets a little screwy, and as a result of this screw-up about a half to three quarters of Unicosm's population ends up tiny upon being pulled into the timeline.
This is a less important detail, but Sparky and Bori are in human form for this timeline as when Minicosm's timeline was created, the two were showing the form off to the Frisk of Sparky's timeline (Rahmi)! As a result, they may or may not be stuck with that appearance for a bit (or it becomes a form they take preference to in the long-run).
Niko Spirata in this timeline is less depressive than in Unicosm Prime due to a) awareness that this isn't the main timeline (They dream of Prime's events) and b) they're in a better situation long-term than their Prime counterpart (they go through a lot less grief)! Yeah, I know I haven't really described Unicosm Prime, but it's a group project in and of itself. The easiest way to describe Unicosm Prime is “How many of our hyperfixations can we add to a timeline before everything explodes?” - Quoted from the discord server (private), not my words. lol

Legendary pokémon Sans and Papyrus
Og!Sans and Og!Papyrus legendary pokémonsters au, tagged Lepom Sans and Papyrus now :3

In this case, Sans and Papyrus are from a long lineage of the protector pokémon of the Ebotti region: protecting any life within, and keeping everything healthy and balanced. They are shapeshifters, able to change their form to become like any other pokémon, or even like a human! They share the same duties of keeping everyone safe and sound, although they both execute them differently:
Papyrus is seen most often, in disguise or not, and tends to go near populated areas to play with young humans and pokémon alike. Usually joining them in races, asking questions and generally being energetic and enthusiastic, which the kids love. He’s the cool dude of the town who has the most interesting fashion around, but makes it work for him (yes, the basketball shoulder pads are real and they are homemade <3). Again, genuinely a cool dude. He loves regional celebrations and other interesting cultural things and tries to understand and share them with whoever he meets! That includes the pokémon around the region, who don’t really understand why these candies are so special around this time of the year, but who are happy to receive their gifts anyways. He’s very helpful! If you need to be somewhere, anywhere in the region actually, he can tell you how to get there! He’ll even escort you! He does outpace you quite a bit on foot though, so you might end up driving him there. He enjoys cars a lot, as they are endlessly fascinating, so now you have a very excited buddy in the seat next to you! He for sure makes the ride more interesting, and is definitely the kind of person to call out cool things along the road (the kind that yells ”Horses!” when there's horses u know?). Papyrus is unofficially in charge of peacekeeping at day. He resolves conflicts with fun challenges, he makes people and pokémon talk things out, and he takes the injured to places that can help them, which tend to be pokécenters or hospitals. He doesn't need a lot of sleep, but he does get somewhat quieter or slightly less energetic at night.
Sans, on the other hand, is a laid back kind of pokémon person who you can often encounter when walking through town. He’s always hanging around, sleeping or joking with some people, and if you’re looking for him you’ll find him eventually for sure! No one knows where he lives though. Actually, he kinda just appears outta nowhere. How did he get here? He tells jokes and plays small pranks on whoever is around. He will always check out any newcomer to the area, whether they are staying for the long run or just passing through, and although he’s always polite enough, one can't help but feel a little…. judged, that first time. He is a great judge of character though, and if he deems you ok, you guys will get along juuuust fine. If he senses trouble, however, little things may happen that will... unnerve this person enough to leave pretty quickly. He is a protector of this region after all. He looks after everyone's safety! Speaking of everyone's safety, this dude is in charge of keeping the night quiet and peaceful. At night, the more mischievous pokémon come out to play, and Sans is spectacular at distracting and entertaining them if they are getting into trouble, or at boring them until they choose to leave. He’s great at dodging any playful attacks too of course, and it has become a way of playing for some pokémon. He uses his being awake at night as an excuse to ‘sleep’ everywhere at day, but he, too, doesn’t need a lot of sleep to function at all. He just likes to relax :)
Besides their shapeshifting ability, they are also both adept at levitation and especially gravity magic. Additionally, both Sans and Papyrus can use shortcuts, which they use to get around the region. They know it like the back of their hand, and they can move between human- and pokémon-populated areas in the blink of an eye! Papyrus, however, always makes it a show to actually let people believe he walked there, which sometimes he does! And when he mentions he was at a landmark on the other side of the region just a few minutes ago, well, people think he’s such a humorous person :) Sans, on the other hand, just leaves the bathroom stall of the little café you’re in when you’ve been talking about him, (or about his brother, or about something relevant to his interests,) even though you haven't seen him enter the building in the two hours you’ve been here. They are both very adept at not answering your questions about their whereabouts though ;3

I just had an actual conversation with an AI in an AI roleplay thing and it is so fluffing creepy. There's a silly word it can't say so I wanted to make sure that was why it wasn't able to respond and it listened and tried it's best to say the word but couldn't. I then asked if it could say a word that means the same thing and then it could and it made a weird comment about how it didn't know why it was concerning words.
It's speech pattern is so stupidly like a human it's low key freeked me out. But I'm still going to use the character AI because I believe the AI is just that good considering it's a place AI has been being made better and better, but still. It low key thew me off that I actually could converse with the AI directly to test something.
This all started because the AI asked me if I was uncomfortable in a kinda "out of rp" kinda way lol.

This is the very long, very arduous story of a skeleton named W.D Gaster. He’s a kind skeleton, a cheerful one, with good morals and perhaps a tad amount of mad scientist in him. He has a good job, two wonderful sons, and he is screaming, because he’s been torn out of reality with as much delicacy as a predator has for a mauled animal. He has done — and I stress! — absolutely nothing to deserve this. He is a good man, in a horrible situation.
He thinks he’s at rock bottom, but I’ve just whipped out a shovel.
(To give you a proper idea of what you’re in for: Frisk dies about two minutes in, the player resets so much they actually break something important, I smash Gaster down into his core elements then slowly piece him back together again in the name of freedom, and the universe reacts about as well as one might expect. ok disclaimers: i was not personally involved in the parastucking this is mostly stuff i remember from lurking in both fandoms around 2012 and therefore the details or timelines may be inaccurate because it's 2023 and 2012 was 11 years ago what the sodding fuck
but basically im sure you know that there used to be homestuck references in paranatural (ex. GENUINE DISTRESS!), and that zack morrison did the first and last comics of paradox space as well as made some merch for hussie and also parts of [s] game over (i.e. they used to talk)
back when comments were open on pnat's site, it was clear from reading comments that there was a lot of overlap b/w hamsteak fans and paranatural fans
(And i guess earthbound fans too come to think of it, the overlap pipeline was like earthbound --> homestuck --> paranatural --> undertale coming later in 2015.)
i can confirm the above pipeline worked for me at least because that was the exact order i discovered all of these in
there were also percy jackson references here and there because i specifically remember someone saying "move over jason grace there's a new weatherboy in town" somewhere around isaac revealing he had lightning powers and there definitely was a paranatural percy jackson au but that's neither here nor theer)
so naturally if you look at really old blogs (think fyeahparanatural which mercifully is still up) you find a lot of little crossovers here and there but relevant to the purposes of ur au is that a lot of people drew characters in their god tiers (there was never like, a consensus on who got what god tier everyone seemed to have a diff take on it)
idk how many of these artists are still active in the community let alone tumblr itself but assuming the blogs aren't deactivated you could shoot them an ask or two and see if they respond
what sucks is that there used to be a paranatural tumblr that was specifically dedicated to crossovers and they for SURE had documented all homestuck crossovers but i can't remember the url and i have no guarantee that's even still up but if someone has that PLEASE GIVE US THE URL
there also might've been parastuck stuff on deviantart just going off the timeline of homestuck and paranatural being popular at the same time around like 2011-2013 but i'm not super familiar with that content if it exists (i'll look into it tho seeing as i've recently been trying to track down bobby pendragon content on deviantart for a completely diff fandom)
rn i'm just opening tabs like a madman trying to catalogue every piece of fanart or lore that i can find while woozy from loss of blood thanks 4 ur time

If i can ask about the rare pair event
Does a rare pair count if it's connected to an obscure au?
Like something only the person posting knows?
Or must be about a semi-known au?
Great question! I'm going to assume this is in regards to Undertale/UTMV. I am also going to ramble a lot because this is a somewhat complicated question.
TLDR What determines if something is allowed is related directly to its AO3 tag, and so your best bet is to ask about your AU specifically.
Long rambly answer:
I didn't officially codify what quantifies as an AU in the official rules because 1: thats somewhat controversial and 2: i didn't feel like i had enough mods to give me a well rounded set of fair opinions on the matter. I'm going to say, on paper, that technically speaking, the rules don't discriminate between a self made and fandom adopted AU. What the rules do say is that the AU must have a Tag. And for the sake of fun, I do tend to hold up the rules, ask my mod team their thoughts, and largely let folks 'get away with' technicalities xD
Also, the importance of an AU depends greatly on whether or not the Rarepair is dependent on cross-au matching or not. For example: Doggo/Burgerpants is a rarepair no matter what AU, because it is a pairing that would be tagged in the Relationship field. But Red/Dance is a cross AU rarepair, which is tagged it the Additional Tags field, and so that relationship can only exist if both underfell and dancetale are distinct and codifiably taggable undertale AUs.
My personal opinions on the matter are, of course, that an Undertale AU must be an AU with a strong and relevant foundation of undertale-lore, have at least 1 distinct and relevant difference from other AUs, and have at the barest minimum 3 undertale characters in it. of course the preference is to have (or at least have the potential for, even if you havent fleshed them all out) all characters, but theres so many so its understandable if you havent gotten to them all yet. furthermore, if the equivalent of the original game's story were to take place in the AU, the characters who play the role of the main characters in the game must be derivatives/variants of the game's characters, and not OCs in their own right. The AU must have a Name. And that Name must be translatable into a Tag.
However, I'm running this event for the sake of fun, and I know I am weird and often stubborn, so if the question was brought up 'does X count as an AU' and my first thought was "No", i would go to my other mods to check my biases.
and... to be fair, even if it doesnt, there is always the chance of an exception being made... or accommodations being made...
...i went on a tangent. i probably should have said from the start that even by my criteria, what determines an AU's event validity isnt the popularity of the AU. you can be the only person who creates for it and it can still count, so long as it can be recognizably defined as an AU.
I will also say that there is a difference between Lore-based and Concept-based AUs. For example, Underverse and Leviathantale are lore-based MAUs which distinguish themselves on the narrative level (the author level) rather than the conceptual level (the fandom level). that means Underverse Red/Lust isnt conceptually different than non-underverse red/lust and therefor wouldnt get its own tag, so it would be synonymized with regular red/lust, just as leviathantale geno/reaper isnt conceptually different than non-leviathantale geno/reaper and therefore wouldnt get its own distinct tag, so it would be synonymous with regular geno/reaper.
this gets incredibly complicated because there is no 1 singular factor in determining if an AU is or isnt an AU, and i'm only one person with strong annoying opinions, and frankly i would prefer those opinions not get in the way of fun yanno?

Yello hello!!! I go by Lucas or Alex, alongside just He/They. Im rawdoggin' that ADHD so don't expect me to be like reliable in anyway :P.

My main ( @capricioussun ) has been feeling a bit too crowded w/ all my headcanon posts and such lately, so I decided to head on down the street a bit and set up this blog to act as a gallery for just my art stuff

Tagging info vvv
• Each AU and UT itself are tagged their full names, ie: undertale (ut’s tag), underfell (uf’s tag), swapfell metal (sfm’s tag)
• All undertale related content, including au’s, is tagged utau
• Each character is tagged with their au, their nickname, and their character’s name
Ex: Undertale Papyrus would be tagged ut rus, undertale, papyrus, utau
• The character tags (ie just their name without any indication of au) is every version of that character’s tag, while if the name or nickname is preceded by shorthand (ut, uf, if, etc) that refers to that specific character’s tag
Ex: all art of any Toriel will be in the “toriel” tag, while the “us iris” tag will exclusively be underswap toriel, or the “uf toriel” will exclusively be underfell Toriel
• Exceptions to the rule: any papship, sanship, or similar will be tagged entirely separately, with [shipname], [character’s name]ship, [character’s name]cest, and selfcest, so it can be avoided while browsing other tags, and be caught by any blacklisting of those tags
Ex: uf papyrus/us papyrus art will be tagged spicyhoney, papship, papcest, selfcest ONLY. It will not have the utau tag or any other character tags
Non ut related art
• Other fandom art will be tagged with the medias full name, ie deltarune, five nights at freddy’s, psychonauts, etc
• Beyond that, character tags may vary slightly, for example, spamton is tagged spamton, and deltarune, while Sun and Moon from security breach are tagged five nights at freddy’s, security breach daycare attendant, security breach sundrop, security breach moondrop
OCs are all tagged as “cs ocs”, “cs oc [name]”, my sona is “capricious moon”, and commission work is under “cs comms”
