since i talk about work but don't actually plug my own shit: hi, i work for object lover, a trans owned and operated home decor maker focused on making objects for joyful, colorful living. if you're interested in supporting queer creators, this post is for you!
we have almost universally positive reviews, but struggle w/sales bc of low visibility. our labor is all shared, and for 3 years every employee, incl. the founder & designer ( 11 total at one time or another! ) has been paid equally.
it feels a little bit gauche, in this time of incipient genocide, to say "buy our stuff!" but even just checking out our website or reblogging this post is materially supporting trans women in central texas, & i think if you do you'll fall in love with our work. we make home goods and decor, including side tables—the first 3d printed furniture!—plant stands and planters, and jewelry trays.
here's a couple pics of my favorite items; a link'll follow in the reblogs because i think maybe we're still in the world of tumblr where links in the main post get eaten? reblog that one, please!
as a side note, we keep our prices as low as we possibly can and still keep the lights on; our margins are very low. but one of our guiding principles is that beautiful, joyous home decor shouldn't be financially out of reach, esp. to queer ppl. we run sales as often as we possibly can, but if our work is still inaccessible to you i'm happy to provide coupon codes to anyone who dms me
(So I love dragons. But tying it to Planterful was hard until I remembered geology existed and is part of the natural world. But then I had the issue of any kind of cohesive story grouping this and future releases together. Hence birthstones. But anyway. Here ya go.)
It's the Year of the Dragon according to the Chinese Zodiac. And we love dragons! What better way to introduce our Birthstone Series than that, we ask you?
There isn't one. We know. It's fantastic timing.
Each month we'll be releasing a new color for our Baby Gemstone Dragon and Egg that corresponds to its birthstone. For February, it's Amethyst.
And yes, we did skip January. That's because Chinese New Year is in February, so you won't see January's dragon rounding out the year till January 2025!
As a side note, we had a fantastically fun time taking photos of him. He's so shiny, it's unbelievable.
He's available for purchase on our site, or on Etsy at PlanterfulPieces!
(One more product drop tentatively scheduled for end of this month, and then I got several things coming this spring! I'm so excited to show you!)
Seeing crochet clothing being 'in' now is always kind of frustrating as someone who can actually crochet for shit (evidence attached) because as much as I'd love to be able to maybe sell some of that work, ultimately you can't compete with that store (machine?)grade shit. A crochet maxi-skirt made from granny squares is selling for AUD $60. AUD $60 wouldn't even cover the cost of the materials (in a nice, wearable quality yarn). :/
Well at least when I make something I know it's not gonna be basic bitch shit -
Having a sale bc i want to make room for new products!
get 10% off jojo phone grips with code JAURJAUR and 5% off on the entire store with code THANKSGAEGU! each order will come with a free jojo pin (until supplies last)!
Spend 30 dollars or more and get a free 3d-printed yipee creature!
I draw and 3D design all my coasters :D check out my store for coasters with shinsou, eraserhead, and present mic, plus many more heroes, students, and villains.
