Happy 2nd anniversary, to one of my favorite films, The Bad Guys ❣️🎈🎉🐺🦊🐍🦈🐟🐠🕷️🕸️👨🏼💻🐹
On this day, April 22nd, 2022, Dreamworks Animation released The Bad Guys, based on the Australian children's book of the same name by Aaron Blabey
The movie is an amazement, The characters and voices acting is pretty amazing, The animation really took from into the spider-verse along with inspiration from other heist movies along with the action sequence, And the plot pretty amazing as well!
I really appreciate it and thank the team at DreamWorks animation from making this film amazing along with the author of the books
“Thelma the Unicorn” 🦄 is officially out on @netflix!!!
Happy Fanart Friday, everybody!! This such an exciting piece that I drew as I want to congratulate the talented people, including my cousin @portlynntagavi, who worked on this movie! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 I love the movie and it’s going to be one of Netflix’s best original animated movies!
This artwork of mine was all done in colored pencils and watercolor acrylic paint! 🎨
Fun fact: “Thelma the Unicorn” is based on a children’s book by Aaron Blabey who also created “The Bad Guys” which became one of @dreamworksanimation hit series!
At the end credits of the movie, you’ll see my cousin’s name in there (I circled her name)! 😉👍💯 Congrats to her along with many others who worked on “Thelma the Unicorn”!
My cousin shared my illustration on her instagram stories! I already thanked her because she’s awesome!
I'm really excited for both sequels of the bad guys & zootopia releasing next year (maybe a bit more for tbg). What I'm NOT excited about is the potential war between fandoms seeing as both movies release 3 months apart. What I'm asking is: please no war! Everyone's allowed to love what they like, no matter how good they are & their performance at the box office. You can also like both, you now.
Besides, despite having similar themes, each is unique:
The bad guys movie is an adaptation by dreamworks based on Aaron Blabey's 2014 graphic novels by the same name & zootopia is an original disney franchise.
First attempt at drawing a The Bad Guys book character with my own interpretation. Here is Hogwild with her own biker gear and helmet. Wanted to capture that reckless energy in her design as I imagine she would be close to Piranha in craziness in the movie universe. Having bike skills that can put Diane to shame. Though she would have a tendency to rush into things head first. ^^'
🟢NEWS: Aaron Blabey saw a recent cut of The Bad Guys 2:"It's insane."
In an interview with the Today Show Australia, while promoting his newest movie adaptation "Thelma the Unicorn" & talking about the final book of The Bad Guys series releasing this fall, author Aaron Blabey gave a small update regarding The Bad Guys 2 currently in the works at Dreamworks:
"The reason they're so excited is because the first movie, under the worst possible condition, went so well. It literally came out the week omicron hit. And still did- I think it was $250M, which under those circumstances, was insanely good. So I think the air around #2 which is- I saw a recent cut the other day & it's insane. It's bigger than before." -Aaron Blabey
The full interview has not yet been officially released, as it was recently broadcasted live. The clip was provided by Craig Miller on X/Twitter.
