I used to have one in the back and two in the front, I had 3. […] they made me take them out the first week through of Merlin […] it’s healed, completely. No they’re gone. They’re gone, 10 years they’re gone now
- Katie McGrath about her tongue piercings
The piercing in the back being visible for exactly one frame in Damage (2007) 😅😭
edit: not me forgetting to add my ko-fi link

my kaine playlist is 2 and a half hours long...
okay well actually it's more like—
there's my primary Kaine playlist which is 2 and a half hours long and kind of doubles as a partial Janine playlist (still mostly Kaine but there's bound to be some overlap, all things considered):
and maybe it has some questionable song choices
There's my Spider-Man (well, really it's just Peter) playlist which is also 2 and a half hours long and has perhaps what some might call "too much" Blink-182 and pop punk on it:
There's a mixtape from Annabelle to Kaine which probably isn't done yet but is 40 minutes long:
There's a response from Kaine that he makes after leaving which is 44 minutes long and also probably technically not done yet:
There's also a playlist for the "worst year of peter's life" fic-in-progress which is 55 minutes long, probably complete, and which is sort of about Kaine but is also about Peter and in general about the entire situation that they've all been subjected to (including like, Flash's interactions with not-Peter (Ben)) and also a little bit about the past:
I don't have a playlist for Ben lol

Me, sat here @ a lil after 11:00pm, minding my own business:
My brain: Ya know Egon would absolutely pull a Hu.gh Gran.t and yeet a tub of baked beans at reporters/journalists without giving a singular fuck.
Me: OMG you’re so right -

Grant Emerson for the character bingo 💖
THE BOYYY
Tumblr media
I fell in love with this kid when I first read Titans (1999). Devin Grayson took the strong foundations he was built on from his previous appearances to tell a truly powerful story. After the arc where Roy takes him camping in the desert, I decided to do something I’d never done for a comics character up to that point and read through every single one of Grant’s appearances starting with his debut in Damage (1994)
At first glance, Grant’s solo book might seem like just an attempt to follow the early-mid 90s teen boy superhero trend. But what makes it special in my eyes is how it doesn’t shy away from putting its protagonist through the ringer. It creates thought-provoking dilemmas about bodily autonomy and personal responsibility and puts a pretty ordinary kid with powers that seem to bring him nothing but trouble at the center of its story. It’s a rare thing, but this kid got consistently good writing three books in a row. I even love his appearances in The New Titans and I wish his interactions with Bart and Kyle had gotten more follow-up besides that one crossover for Sins of Youth. As @miadeardn has pointed out before, Grant was always a bit out of place age-wise among the Titans (don’t get me wrong, I love his time with the team, but I do see that as more of a transitional period in his life) and having him join Young Justice would’ve allowed him to be among heroes that were also going through the unique struggles of being a teenage superhero. Thinking about how he could’ve come into his own on a team like that keeps me up at night
Unfortunately, editorial seemed to decide at some point after his departure from the main cast of Titans (1999) that Damage going to become more and more associated with the JSA because of his connection to the group through his birth parents. I say this is unfortunate mainly because this set him in the direct path of one Geoff Johns who, on account of Justice Society of America (2007), is now my mortal enemy. And I think we all know what happens to comic book characters after they get the Geoff Johns treatment
I was cautiously hopeful when I saw that Grant was being reintroduced to current canon, but the way he’s been written so far in Infinite Frontier and DC vs. Vampires: All Out War makes me skeptical that he’ll ever get his pre-Johns characterization back or have his disability from the events of Infinite Crisis be written in a respectful way. Tom Joyner and Bill Marimon put so much into crafting this character and then it all went so wrong. One book with poor characterization is all it really takes sometimes. My only consolations are the stories I make up for him in my head where nothing after Infinite Crisis ever happened and the small but vocal community of fans on this site that have a lot of love for this kid from Georgia that can’t just help but blow up. Damage lives on in our hearts 🔥

FILMSZERÉSZ TOP 100 TÉVÉSOROZAT - 91. A hatalom hálójában
Szerintem úgy is nézhetjük, mint a Kártyavárnak, Az ördög Pradát viselnek a nagyon érdekes hangulati - és sokszor dramaturgiai - ötvözete. Az Utódlás is előcsillan benne.
Tumblr media
Szerintem.

The Israeli military has destroyed nearly 200,000 housing units, either completely or partially, since the start of its latest assault on the Gaza Strip following Hamas's surprise attack on October 7. Mohammad Ziyara, the Palestinian minister of public works and housing, said on Thursday the bombardment has "erased entire families from the civil registry,", as well as "neighbourhoods and residential communities". "[It] also destroyed facilities, including hospitals, places of worship, bakeries, water filling stations, markets, schools, and educational and service institutions,” Ziyara added in a statement. Home to some 2.3 million people, the Gaza Strip covers a tiny area of 365sq km (141sq miles). According to the UN's humanitarian office, at least 45 percent of all housing units in the enclave have been damaged or destroyed in the Israeli attacks. Among the areas hit the hardest have been Beit Hanoon, Beit Lahiya, Shujaiya, the neighbourhoods around the Shati refugee camp, and Abasan al-Kabira in Khan Younis. An estimated 1.4 million people in Gaza have been internally displaced due to the relentless bombardment, with some 629,000 sheltering in 150 UN-designated emergency shelters. Meanwhile, Israel's total blockade on fuel entering the enclave is seriously affecting critical functions in all hospitals, risking the lives of at least 130 premature babies in incubators, 1,000 kidney dialysis patients who have had to reduce their treatment sessions, and front-line ambulance workers who cannot access the sick when the fuel runs out. Since 2007, when Hamas came to power, Israel has maintained strict control over Gaza’s airspace and territorial waters and restricted the movement of goods and people in and out of the enclave
If you click on the article, you'll be able to see the before and after pictures of Gaza. The sheer devastation is mind boggling

Back in 2007, I WAS one of those people who had trash takes about the writer's strike and it essentially killed my favorite show at the time (Heroes - it was never as good after). I was so mad at the time. I was also 18 and came from a sheltered, conservative household and thought they were just being greedy.
Don't be 18 year old me.
You're going to have shows that suffer. You're going to lose shows. But TV shows are not as important as people making a living wage and having safe working conditions. Don't have trash takes like I did in 2007. If you love your shows, support the writers. And if shows end or get bad after this, remember, it's not their fault. It's capitalism and greedy networks that kill art, not the artists.
Things you CAN do during the writer's strike:
- Voice your support for the striking screenwriters on social media
- Don't watch the junk filler (*cough*REALITY SHOWS*cough*) networks will throw in the timeslots of shows affected by the strike
- Cancel streaming subscriptions until the strike ends.
No boycott has been sanctioned by WGA at this time. This is called a wildcat boycott and can damage the residuals writers are currently receiving. This was bad information on my part and I apologize. I have a very large follower base and it is my responsibility to make sure correct information is presented. Thank you to @whyismangososour for holding me accountable.
- Educate friends and family who are upset about the strike (and why it isn't just the writers "being greedy" or whatever other nonsense they come up with)
