Favorite kind of cheese? Mine is shredded mozzarella 😋
Shredded mozzarella is AMAZING you have good taste! Okay so "favorites" are always hard for me bc I either have too many to choose (like favorite Taylor song? Yeah I can't) or it changes all the time. So currently here's my cheese rundown:
So for like snacking for just eating on its own. There is this brand from Australia called Old Crock and it's all good but their garlic&herb cheddar is SO. EPICALLY. GOOD. Hands down my favorite. But- I can't find it anywhere anymore!!! There was a brief period before covid where it was at almost every grocery store but now it's gone and I'm SO SAD I've even written the company twice. But that's definitely my favorite for snacking/charcuterie. Second choice is usually sharp white cheddar, and my favorite is from Kerrygold which is an Irish brand that makes dairy from grass-fed animals which is important with our diet stuff so we get their butter and also they make a cheese called Dubliner which is also really, really good especially as a melted/fondue cheese. Though both I've used on eggs and to snack on.
Otherwise, favorites depend on what use the cheese will be for. Brie for any melted cheese creation, there's a recipe I want to find; this local restaurant had cheese fries made with a brie, garlic & sage sauce and I've always wanted to figure that one out. Speaking if cheese fries that is one guilty pleasure which tbh it's been years but back in Chicago they have the cheese fries with the really melty yummy orangeish cheese that I know is not nutritionally the best so it's a treat but I do LOVE IT. Like the cheese fries from Portillo's or Steak N' Shake. Speaking of things I only find in Chicago I also love Greek food and I really love Saganaki which is an American-Greek creation but it's the one they light on fire and it's usually made with a specific cheese that's either goat or sometimes sheep and I want to find it and try making it someday. I used to be really picky and think things like feta were gross but now I love it like on gyros and Greek salads. I do still HATE bleu cheese and swiss cheese I cannot stand those and only *sometimes* gorgonzola.
Mozzarella with/in lots of pasta dishes is a must and very yummy for snacking; though I prefer parmesan for anything I need to actually melt cheese into and like to make homemade Alfredo. I also use parm a lot in eggs and on salads etc so many uses. For sandwiches I tend towards slices of Monterey or Colby jack slices if not regular medium cheddar. I will also snack away on cheddar but tend to like it sharper. Tillamook cheddar is good.
Anyways if anyone doubted my love of cheese I mean

by Boomboom M. Dalen
Beefsteak
Bistek Tagalog is a traditional meat dish originating from the Philippines. It consists of thinly sliced beef that's marinated and braised in a combination of citrus juice (usually from lemon, lime, or calamansi fruit), onions, garlic, soy sauce, and pepper.
It is believed that the dish was derived after the Spanish bistec encebollado. When properly prepared, the flavors should be savory, salty, and tangy. It's important to use only the freshest beef and the most tender cuts such as top round and sirloin.
The dish is traditionally garnished with pan-fried onion rings on top and served with steamed rice on the side.

Chicken Curry
The Filipino chicken curry recipe definitely had originated from the famous Indian curry dish which can be seen from the spices used but the taste had evolved to specifically cater for the Filipino palate which means its not as strong as the original curry and the sauce is a bit thinner. It might have been brought by the Indian soldiers known as Sepoy’s who settled down in Philippines during the British Occupation of the Philippines during (1762-1764).
Tumblr media
Ingredients
3 tbsp oil
1 kilogram chicken cut into bite-sized pieces
3 cloves garlic, minced

Health Benefits of Spaghetti
Pasta is the perfect foundation for a healthy, nutritious and satisfying meal. Why? For starters, pasta is the ideal partner for so many other foods, including fibre rich vegetables and beans, heart healthy fish, antioxidant rich tomato sauce and protein packed cheeses, poultry and lean meats.
Pasta also offers:
Sustained Energy: Carbohydrates like pasta provide glucose, the crucial fuel for your brain and muscles. And because pasta is an awesome source of complex carbohydrates (unlike those of the refined and processed variety – yuk), releasing energy at a slow and sustained level, you don’t get the energy spikes associated with simple sugars.
Low Sodium and Cholesterol free: If you’re watching your cholesterol levels, pasta is perfect for you, being very low in sodium and cholesterol free. Per cup, enriched varieties of pasta provide a good sources of several essential nutrients, including iron and B-vitamins.
Olic Acid: Enriched pasta is fortified with folic-acid – essential for women of child-bearing age. A serving of dry pasta supplies the equivalent of roughly 100 micrograms of folic acid, or 25% of the recommended daily intake.
Balanced Diet: Pasta is part of a well-balanced diet, with current Australian Government guidelines suggesting 35% of our daily calories intake should come from complex carbohydrates such as pasta. Combine pasta with lean protein and vegetables for a complete meal that puts you well on the path to hitting those dietary goals!

Heaven in a Bowl - Aglio e Olio
I love a big bowl of pasta as much as anyone! Add some garlic, olive oil and grated Parmesan cheese and I’m in heaven and loose all self control!
The other day when I was trying to figure out what I would make for my latest Instagram video, this pasta kept calling my name and I know why…it’s so delicious and so easy to make! It’s nice to have a handful of recipes that take literally no time to put together and use basic pantry ingredients.
This recipe for Aglio e Olio (garlic and oil) is everything you want when you’re craving pasta…perfectly cooked noodles, olive oil with lots of crispy (and so healthy) garlic, lemon juice and parsley. Traditionally, this dish isn’t served with Parmesan, but why not add a little or a lot if you want because it only makes it creamier and even more delicious! Serve this pasta with a glass of Rosé and some crispy bread along with a green salad and you have an easy meal that is literally “heaven in a bowl”!
My gorgeous bowl that’s perfect for pasta and so much more is from Haand Ceramics! As you know, I serve most everything in and on my Haand pieces! I love that Haand is a local company (literally 5 minutes from my house) that I can support and I also love serving my food on handmade pieces. My food is made with love and deserves to be served on beautiful pottery! If you’re interested in any of these pieces, you can use my discount code CRAZYBLONDELIFE to receive 15% off your order. They have the most fabulous pink dishes that would make wonderful Valentine’s Day gifts! I gave my daughter a pink platter from Haand for Christmas and she loved it!

Be sure to use really good olive oil and the best Parmesan cheese when making this dish because you’ll definitely taste it!
I hope you make this tonight and I hope you love it! Happy Monday!
It’s cozy season and the weather is supposed to be so cold over the next month! I’m a warm weather girl and admittedly struggle during the colder months so I do everything I can to make my home inviting and warm until the chill is gone! That includes lighting candles, having blankets draped across every chair and making warming comfort food to eat (lots of soup)!! I have a theory that we’re supposed to hibernate during this time of the year…it’s a time to reflect, turn inward and plan. I’ve been meditating longer, journaling and reading more…keep scrolling for a few book recommendations as well as my favorite candles, soft pajamas and all things cozy! I added comments beneath some of the items because they are my absolute faves!

Tumblr media
“One day. One day, you will be sorry, Black. You won’t know when, and you won’t know how. But one day, you will be filled with regrets, and I will have my payback.” James sneered at Sirius while he was covered in slime.
“Do your worst, Potter.”
"Oh." "I will."
Tumblr media
It was during your holiday trip that you first picked up on something.. a little out of the ordinary.
The prepaid phone that you had with you, the number of which you always only gave to a few people for emergencies, was going absolutely crazy. As you opened the bathroom door, the steam that escaped fogged up the mirror above the small vanity present in the room. The motel was clearly not among Italy's best, judging by the scrapped wallpaper and the stained floral duvet covers. It was your first time in Italy, and you made a note to yourself to visit again sometime.
As you put down the towel you had dried your hair with, you spotted the notification on your phone that alerted you to eight missed calls and five voicemails, every single one belonging to the same name.
Just as you wanted to check the voicemails, it started ringing again. The name and blank avatar illuminating the screen. You were about to pick it up as James snatched it out of your hand, telling you sternly that you had to get ready because you had already spent way too much time in the shower and he had to spend some quality sibling time with you while he could. With a quick note to yourself to call later, you let it go for now and decided to do as James said since you were too tired for an argument with him anyway.
Tumblr media
In the city, the whole day's schedule had all gone as planned. Well, almost all. James decided to use you as a human shield against some of the incoming pedestrians around the corner and got you completely covered in the food they were carrying. Which meant you had to take three more showers before you had finally lost the smell of parmesan and tomatoes that lingered in your hair. When you no longer smelled like day-old pasta, the still buzzing phone caught your attention. James had left in order to grab some food after his stomach started to rumble, so you figured you had some spare time to call.
You hit the contact icon, and the phone started dialling. He picked up immediately, not even letting it ring once. He sounded panicked, frantic, not like himself. Many words leaving his lips, but not one understandable sentence forming.
“Y/N? Oh, God. I thought something had happened! Why didn’t you tell me?” His words came out quick, his accent thicker, so much it took you a second to register his words.
“He told me, right before you left, he told me. Why didn’t you tell me..?” You went deep into your mind to try and remember if there was something you had forgotten to tell him, but apart from finishing the last cauldron cake, which didn't seem important enough to you to call about , nothing came to mind.
“What? What are you talking about?”
Before he could say anything else, James walked in, a bit of blood dripping down the side of his face, but still holding on proudly to the two taco bags in his right hand.
“Do you have any idea how hard it is to find decent tacos in the middle of Italy?” He quips at you, his sarcasm shining through, even when he just clearly hit his head. Although you will not admit it to him, it always makes you smile.
You no longer have any idea what is being told to you through the phone, all you hear coming from it is a distant murmur. Your head is too focused on making sure James doesn’t pass out anytime soon.
“I gotta go, I’ll call you back later.”
“No, y/n wa-” but before he can finish pleading with you, you've hung up.
“I seriously don’t know what Italians have against tacos, but I had to bribe this guy before he would make some.”
“You don’t know what they have against tacos? We are in Italy, home of Italians and Italian food, and you want them to make you Mexican..?” Your eyebrows are almost in your hairline at this antics, even though you’d think you’d be used to it by now.
“Well, with that smell that’s been coming from you this past hour, I wasn’t really in the mood for Italian food anymore.”
“You’re an idiot, you know that? What happened?” You ask him, while motioning to his head.
“I was distracted and might have run into a lamppost. You want a taco?” He asks, even though he is already throwing it your way, your reflexes kicking in about a second before the bag hits you.
Tumblr media
“Have you seen my phone?”
“I’m pretty sure you lost that a few hours ago at the church.” You can already hear his giggling next to you at the joke he’s about to make before the words even leave his mouth “Maybe if you pray hard enough, that god the muggles always talk about will come bring it for you.”
You were still laughing when you approached the next motel. The two of you were walking to the door. Well, you wouldn't call it walking. You were both pretty tired, and strolling would resemble it better.
When you get to the living room, you can see someone sitting on the couch. It catches you off guard first and makes you reach for your wand. But then you notice you recognize the guy sitting down, running his hand through his hair, he always did that when he was distressed.
Sitting on the couch was none other than the man who has been blowing up your phone the last few days, better known as:
“Sirius?”
But he doesn’t look up, he barely even moves. His hands only twitch slightly when he hears your voice call out for him. He’s shaking a little, his hands moving through his hair the only other motion he’s making. You don’t see him like this often, way too calm, or rather tranquil, for his normal outgoing personality. Even though you can tell there is a storm going on inside his head.
You realise you will have to get his attention in a different way, so you walk over to the couch and kneel down in front of him. Lifting up his face in your hands, taking it out of his own tense ones.
His eyes looked droopy, and the bags under his eyes were even bigger than yours currently are.
“Hey, look at me. Breathe.” You tell him in an attempt to get him to talk to you.
He closes his eyes, taking a deep breath before opening them again, but still avoiding eye contact. So he glances down to your stomach. His eyes widen almost comically and it makes you realise there is still a small tear in your shirt at your stomach from when you walked through the bushes in order the get the best roses, the thorns having pierced through it and creating a small cat-like scratch on your stomach. He turns almost completely white, and his head shoots up.
“You’re bleeding, why are you bleeding?”
“It’s nothing, Sirius, just a few thorns from rose bushes.”
“Why would you do something like that, something could have gone wrong, something could be wrong.”
“I- I don’t understand what you mean, we do things like this all the time, so do you.”
“I do, but you deserve so much better than me, don’t you ever see that?” He sinks back to his previous position, head in his hands, looking lost.
So you place yourself on his lap, your face only inches away from his, not giving him any opportunity to avoid you while you talk.
“What are you talking about? Siri, you are the best thing that ever happened to me, you keep me grounded through all the crazy. You are there to hold my hand when things go sideways. Can’t you see that I love you, you’re all I’ll ever need.”
“I just don’t want to lose you, I can’t lose you, I don’t think I’d ever get over it. I’ve been wrecking myself up this past week, because I can’t lose you. I went crazy when you didn’t answer me. And I’ll be here for anything you need, I’ll support whatever you decide to do. But, I’m not ready to be dad.” He closes his eyes when he’s finished, and you can see the tears slowly rolling down.
“What?” At this point, you understand even less than you did at the beginning of the conversation.
“I’m just not ready, with the lives we live. I can deal with the thought there might be someone who is trying to hurt me around every corner. But I cannot live with that if I’m a dad. If there is a little baby boy, or girl, that looks just like you, staring at me with those beautiful eyes, waiting for me to come back. It is already hard enough to do that with you, but at least if something happened, you would understand. They would have no idea what’s going on, and I can’t do that.
But I won’t lose you either, so I will be here every step of the way, supporting you, holding your hand, doing whatever you want me to. Just please, please don’t leave me over this, I can’t live without you anymore.” He sounds like he has been preparing this speech in his head for a couple of days, but he still stutters his way through it. His hands clammy and tight on your hips, as if he’s afraid you’ll leave if he lets go.
“Siriu-”
“No, please don’t say anything yet. Please just let me live in this fantasy where everything is alright for a little longer. Please.”
“Sirius, when are you going to start listening to me? I have no clue what you are talking about, but whatever is going on, let me help. Just take a deep breath, and try to explain it again. Tell me what’s going on inside that head of yours, because you’re freaking me out here. Did you sleep with someone else, and get her pregnant?” Your own panic is taking over now, and you stand up, walking away from him as if he’s burned you.
“Oh Merlin, I knew it was only a matter of time before you grew tired of me, I should have seen this coming sooner, I should have-”
But before you can finish your sentence, he is in front of you again, pressing you into the wall behind you.
“Of course I didn’t cheat on you, why would you even think that?” He says, his own turmoil temporarily paused to try and solve your panic first.
“I mean, maybe you found some blonde that piqued your interest and you just.. I don’t know, you’ve just always had a thing for blondes Siri..”
“I don’t have a thing for blondes, I only have one thing for one girl and she’s standing right in front of me.” He talks now with more certainty than anything he's said so far.
“Then, what is going on?”
He looks down at your stomach again, and this time you look with him.
“Is- is it okay?”
“Is what okay?”
“The baby.”
“What baby?”
He inhales slowly, before locking his gaze with yours.
“The baby. Our baby.”
His hands trace patterns over your stomach, before you stop them.
“If this is your way of telling me you think I got fat, you can go fuck off.” You say, starting to push him off you.
“No! I didn’t say that, I would never say that!”
“So you’re just thinking it, don’t have the courage to say it out loud Black?”
“How did we even get in this fight. I’m tired, you’re tired and I really don’t want to fight with you. Just, let’s go to bed, please.” He says, reaching out to hold you in his arms like he always does after you argue.
“No. Don’t touch me. I’ll sleep on my own tonight.” The look of hurt that flashes through his eyes almost makes you sink back into his arms and comfort him.
But you don’t. You walk away, your heart nagging you to turn back around when you hear him fall to the floor in defeat.
But you don’t.
Tumblr media
“It has been a week now, and I still haven’t heard a word from her.” He was pacing in Remus’ room, his hands going wild while he was talking.
“I mean, she’s pregnant, she can't keep avoiding me forever, right? I know I shouldn’t have confronted her like that, but she’ll forgive me, right?”
“Take a seat Sirius, you are going to spiral through the floor if you keep this up.”
He listens, but his feet keep tapping against the ground in a nervous pattern.
“We have fought before. But never like this, we always made up before the morning, but she still won’t talk to me. She’s pregnant, she can’t keep going around being as reckless as she is”
This is probably the first time since he walked in that Remus looks up from the papers in front of him, giving Sirius a stern glance.
“I know, I know. It’s not my place to decide what she does with her body, but you’re telling me I don’t even get to have a little bit of an opinion in this? It’s her body and I respect that, she knows I do, but it’s also my baby.” A look of realisation flashes trough Sirius’ eyes.
“Oh Merlin, what if it’s not mine? Is that why she isn’t talking to me?”
“It’s really not my place to say anything Sirius, but you should go talk to James.”
Tumblr media
“There’s no point in calling, she doesn’t wanna talk.” James answers.
“I know, I want to talk to you. Can you meet me on the courtyard in 10 minutes?”
He looks over to y/n, who still doesn’t completely look like herself. Maybe it was time to talk to Sirius.
“Alright, I'll see you there.”
He hangs up the phone, grabbing his coat.
“You want me to punch him in the face for you?”
It makes you smile a little, and James returns the expression.
“No.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah.”
“What if I just break his nose a little?”
Tumblr media
“What do you wanna talk about Black?”
He walks up from behind him, and he turns around to face him.
“How many times did she watch it this week?” Sirius asks, his expression filled with longing.
“Too many, I swear to Merlin that if I hear Dorothy sing one more song I’m gonna throw that television all the way to Oz.”
“She always watches that when she’s upset, either that or-”
“Mary Poppins. Yeah, I know..” The two friends chuckle at their recognition of your habits, and Sirius continues the conversation.
“Please help me make things right, I’m out of ideas, but I won’t give up.”
“About that, there’s something I should tell you.” James says, trying to think of the right thing to say next.
“I know, the baby isn’t mine, is it? That’s why she won’t talk to me, that’s why she got so upset. But I don’t care, at first I thought I did, but I just want her to come back to me.” Sirius sounds desperate, and James can tell he’s trying to keep it together best he can.
“No, that’s not it. Look, I wanted my retribution, I got it, and at first I enjoyed it. But this has gone too far, she isn’t herself without you, and I don’t like it.”
“What are you trying to say?”
“It was a prank Sirius, y/n isn’t pregnant. She never was.”
James can almost hear the gears shift in Sirius' head, he can almost hear him think.
“Where is she.” He asks, whipping his head around as if you’ll be standing around one of the corners
“She went to the library.”
He is running so fast you can almost see the little clouds of wind behind his feet.
He turns left at the dining hall where he spent so much time trying to teach y/n to use chopsticks, runs up the staircases where she met up with him on the night of their first winter formal together, and makes a right after the charms classroom where they would always slip each other little notes until James went crazy. Opening the big double doors to where they would always study together. He doesn’t immediately see her. He can see a few groups of students trying to cram for OWL's, but pays them no mind. He figures you are probably near the checkout counter. Contrary to what some might think, it’s usually the most serene place, and you usually sits at the desks that are placed there, the one you carved your initials in once when Madam Pince wasn’t looking.
He sees yoy right at that desk, trying to read a book, but failing to. Tracing the pair of initials on the wood absentmindedly.
“Y/N!” Your head turns around at his scream in the ever so silent library.
“I’m still mad at you.” You tell him, looking back at your book
“James told me.” He looks at you hopefully as he talks.
“Good.”
“No, no that.” he huffs out a breath of annoyance before remembering what he came here for.
“He told me that you aren’t pregnant.” This finally makes you look up at him with a perplexed face.
“I know that, why are you telling me that?”
“Because I thought you were.” He looks like this will make everything make sense, but it doesn’t quite seem to come across yet.
“You thought what now?”
“I thought you were pregnant, that’s why I got so upset when you didn't answer my phone calls, that's why I got so concerned and that’s why I got so stressed.”
“But- why would you even think that?” The pieces are starting to come together in your brain, but you need a little more to get the full puzzle.
“Because James told me.”
And suddenly it begins to click in your head, every event replacing itself.
“I’m so gonna get him back for this.” You say, shaking your head at James’ antics.
“As long as I get to help.”
“Wouldn’t imagine it otherwise.”

Morso
Morso is located in a delightful part of town (i.e. somewhere I can’t afford).  Airy and pretty townhouses.  Clean, wide streets.  Trees and shrubbery abound.  This is where you live if you have the moolah.
With such surroundings, a certain type of restaurant is expected.  A bit laid back, clean and minimalist and concentrating on the food at an appropriate regional price.  With such introductions complete, we dived into the food.
Olives.  Fairly ordinary even if there were chilli flakes lurking inside.  My dining companion accidentally inhaled one.  He promptly teared up.  I am not made of such weak stuff, so when I took a bite, I judged it as mildly spicy.  In any case, these were ok but probably not something to go for again.
Arancini, tomatoes and mozzarella crispy risotto bites, pea and pecorino romano DOP sauce.  Crunchy and filling the pea and pecorino sauce was a particular delight, so much so that I ended up slathering my fries in it.
Parmesan skinny fries, Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, parsley, Italian black truffle mayonnaise.  Crispy and light.  Great when paired with the pea and pecorino sauce as you then had crispy fries with delectable cheese, a great combination.
Calamari, crispy panko coated calamari rings, spicy Calabrian chilli & lemon mayo.  Oilless, crispy and punchy and with a good dip these were a delight filling my mouth with the things my body likes, fat, oil, seafood.
Rigatoni pistachio & burrata, fresh pistachio and basil pesto, Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, homemade buffalo burrata, toasted pistachio crumb.  A nutty flavour with al dente pasta, burata and basil.  I applaud the generous use off nuts and the deep flavour of the pesto, with this al dente pasta, it was excellent.
Bucatini cacio e pepe, Pecorino Romano DOP, Grana Padano DOP, black pepper.  Simple and decent although the amount of water in the sauce was a bit strange.  It almost seemed like the pasta had been cooked and then someone had forgotten to drain it that well.  It could have been so much better but with pasta swimming in an almost soup, it just didn’t float my boat.
Truffle & Ricotta Raviolo, black truffle & ricotta ravioli, fresh pea, truffle butter, Parmigiano Reggiano DOP.  I have been reading more and more about how truffle flavour is often created through derivatives of petroleum.  It is definitely a case of knowing too much making things destroying the dream.  Whereas previously I would have naively thought that everything that said it was truffle actually had some truffle, I now know better.
In my naivete, things were ok.  Now with the curse of knowledge, with every bite, all I could taste was the oil dripping off my tongue.  It kind of made it disgusting to me.  Although my pocket will probably thank me in the future.
Cuttle fish tomato pasta.  A confused dish, trying to be tomato-ey, hot yet fulsome.  The al dente pasta was just the wrong side of cooked, as it had a bit too much crunch.  The cuttlefish didn’t really do it for me as it didn’t seem to have much flavour of anything really, as I suspect that these were until very recently, in the deep freeze.
At the end of my meal, having had my dreams shattered in the middle by the truffle, I guess I shouldn’t have been that surprised at the end.  Although the meal started out well, it was a bit like window dressing I have known.  Pretty on the outside/at the start, less so as time went by.  That is something that I hear more and more people in the UK are feeling nowadays.  That Brexit was a Bad Idea.
Although I cannot have any effect on that issue, what I can do is vote with my feet for food.  So when I left Morso, I did so for the first (and last) time.
  A quiet eating 6.5/10.
Lunch (2 courses) was GBP30 excluding drinks and service.

Grilled vegetable pasta
This Roasted Vegetable Pasta is flexible, so use whatever veggies you have! Garnished with fresh herbs, it's simple and delicious.
Cooking this Pasta Dish with Roasted Vegetables brings a smile to my face! While veggies are roasting, the kitchen is filled with a scent that is both sweet, earthy, and savory. I remove them from the oven when they have achieved a golden brown and caramelized appearance, and then I combine them with hot sauce, hot pasta, fresh herbs, and cheese. I do not make use of any measuring spoons, and there is no requirement for you to do so too. Instead, I taste and make adjustments in order to obtain the flavor profile that best captures the late summer season. A helpful hint is that you'll know it's perfect when you find that you can't stop biting.
The preparation of this Roasted Vegetable Pasta takes around thirty minutes, and it is simple, adaptable, and enjoyable. It's a delightful dish that puts any produce from the farmer's market on display, thanks to its vibrant colors and powerful flavors.
Several alterations to the recipe for vegetable spaghetti
You are going to adore this dish exactly as it is written, but it is also a fantastic recipe for tinkering with. You are welcome to use whatever you already have on hand or whatever appears to be in the greatest condition at the farmers market. The following are some of my personal favorite variants:
Swap out the vegetables here. The roasted vegetable spaghetti is a dish that goes nicely with nearly every late summer vegetable. You could change some of the zucchini for eggplant or peppers; you could switch out the green beans for carrots; or you could add broccoli, cauliflower, fennel, or corn.
Grill vegetables. It's too hot to turn the oven on, right? This vegetable pasta has the same mouthwatering flavor as when you cook your vegetables on the barbecue.
Replace or omit the cheese in the recipe. If you don't have any feta on hand, you can substitute crumbled goat cheese or shredded Parmesan cheese in its place. If you want to make this dish suitable for vegans, omit the cheese and replace it with one tablespoon of capers.
Include some crisp elements. Add a handful of pine nuts that have been toasted, as well as chickpeas that have been roasted.
Mix the herbs into the sauce. The spaghetti should also have pesto added to it in addition to the fresh basil.
Please report back to me with any variations you come up with!
Vegetable Pasta Recipe Tips
Roast fattier vegetables longer. You can find the roasting timings for the veggies in the recipe below if you plan on making this Roasted Vegetable Pasta using the same vegetables that I did. However, the length of time each vegetable requires to cook will definitely change depending on which ones you choose. Cooking time for more robust vegetables such as root vegetables, onions, and cauliflower is approximately 30 minutes, while cooking time for more delicate vegetables such as zucchini and asparagus is approximately 20 minutes. Please refer to my cooking guides for cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, squash, and Brussels sprouts for further information and guidance.
The vegetables should be dipped until they are warm. When vegetables are still hot from the oven, they are better able to absorb the tangy, spicy sauce. For the maximum flavor, toss the vegetables with oil and vinegar before allowing them to cool completely.
Taste and adjust. When it comes to creating this roasted veggie pasta, one of the aspects that I like best is that you don't have to measure anything until you're ready to taste it and make any necessary adjustments to the final dish. This results in less dirty dishes. Too little money? You can season the dish with additional salt, red pepper flakes, herbs, or cheese. Inaccessible, or just the appropriate amount of light? Add extra lemon or vinegar. Is it too dry? Please add a bit more olive oil to your dish. As long as you season it properly, you will end up with something tasty.
More favorite pasta recipes
If you enjoy this pasta with roasted vegetables, you might like this other dish for healthy pasta:
Ingredients
4 carrots, each one sliced into quarters measuring 1 inch
2 Vidalia onions or 1 small yellow onion, each halved lengthwise and sliced into one-inch chunks
5 tiny zucchini, sliced in half
2 small zucchini, cut into 1-inch pieces
10 small tomatoes cut in half
1 tablespoon extremely virgin olive oil, more for drizzling
1 teaspoon of sherry vinegar (optional)
2 garlic cloves, chopped, and set aside.
½ teaspoon Herbes de Provence
Eight sprigs of fresh thyme are left, with more used for garnish.
1 package of brown rice penne pasta weighing 16 ounces
12 cup of feta cheese in crushed form
a half a cup of fresh basil, with extra for the garnish
Juice from one-half of a small lemon, with more to taste
A scant amount of dried red pepper flakes
kosher salt and black pepper that has been freshly ground
Instructions
Prepare two big baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper and preheating the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Put the carrot and onion on the first sheet, and the tomatoes, squash, and zucchini on the second sheet. Olive oil, along with a dash of salt and pepper, should be drizzled over both of the vegetable leaves. Put the baking sheet with the carrot and onion on it in the oven first and roast it for thirty to thirty-five minutes, or until the onions are soft and have a small burnt flavor and the carrots are soft and have a brown color. After placing the second layer inside, roast the vegetables for twenty minutes, or until the tomatoes have slightly burst and the squash and zucchini have a golden brown rim around their circumferences. Remove from oven and set aside.
Mix together one tablespoon of olive oil, sherry vinegar, garlic, herbs de Provence, thyme, one-fourth teaspoon of salt, and a few turns of a pepper mill in the base of a big bowl. Mix in the vegetables that have been roasted.
Cook the pasta until it reaches the "al dente" stage, following the instructions on the package. After draining the pasta, place it in a large bowl along with the roasted vegetables, and then mix to combine everything.
Mix everything together well before adding the feta, basil, lemon juice, and crushed red pepper. If desired, season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Be sure to do so carefully!
Finish with additional fresh herbs and a liberal amount of olive oil drizzled on top.

Pesto pasta recipe
Tumblr media
Thai basil is really the only kind that's too pungent for this recipe. When buying fresh basil, look for vibrant green leaves with no sports or wilting. You need fresh basil leaves to make pesto. But its flavor is very different from fresh basil. It's fun to use a mortar and pestle, but the modern way is much easier.ĭried basil is fine for flavoring sauces, soups, and other dishes. The most popular variety of pesto now is made by "crushing" basil, garlic, pine nuts, olive oil and some hard cheese in a food processor or blender, but there are many varieties of pesto like sun dried tomato pesto or kale pesto. It dates back from Roman times when Genoans would crush walnuts with herbs and garlic. Pesto should have a little texture to it so be careful not to puree it Taste and adjust the salt and pepper if needed. Season chicken with salt and pepper, to taste. Heat remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Pulse the ingredients together until well blended. While the food processor or blender is running, drizzle in the olive oil and continue blending, scraping down the sides as needed, until the pesto is puréed. In a food processor or blender, combine the basil leaves, Parmesan cheese, garlic, toasted pine nuts, kosher salt and pepper. Chicken, shrimp and sausage are our personal favourites but you can add any protein you like.Originally from Genoa, Italy, pesto traces its name to the Italian word "pestare," which means "to crush or pound." For hundreds of years, pesto was made by pounding the ingredients in a mortar and pestle. Place everything in the food processor and pulse until combined. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta according to package instructions drain well. In a food processor or blender, combine the basil leaves, Parmesan cheese, garlic, toasted pine nuts, kosher salt and pepper. Add the chicken pieces and sauté until the chicken is slightly browned on the outside. Add 2 Tbsp butter to a deep skillet and melt over medium heat. Its great on pasta, baked potatoes, pizza, or bread. Cut one pound of boneless, skinless chicken breast into 1-inch pieces. This recipe is perfect as is for an easy vegetarian meal, but we often add protein to the pasta or on the side. Homemade pesto is one of the best ways to enjoy a bounty of fresh basil. Another good option is gnocchi! What to serve with creamy pesto pasta Small shapes like shells or bow ties work well as well as longer noodles like fettucine. You can choose any pasta shape you like for serving up with with this creamy pesto sauce. Add the cooked pasta and toss it all together, using reserved pasta water if needed to thin out sauce.Once it begins to bubble, add the milk or cream and whisk until the sauce thickens.it’s definitely a crowd-pleaser (even the pickiest eaters I know like pesto)Ĭreamy pesto sauce is made by combining a traditional pesto sauce with cream or milk.the recipe uses simple ingredients you likely have on hand. While the pasta is cooking, heat a frying pan and add oil. it takes only 20 minutes from start to finish Creamy chicken pesto pasta recipe Cook pasta as per pack directions.I prefer to use my homemade Basil Pesto, whether I make it fresh or go into my freezer stash (details on how I freeze pesto in the post linked above). When we first went to Italy, we experienced what pesto pasta should really taste like, over the years we’ve experimented and while this isn’t strictly traditional, we think you’ll agree that it’s absolutely delicious Why you’ll love this pasta recipe. He tosses it with delicate angel hair pasta for a flavorful. Treat yourself to the perfect midweek meal with our creamy, nutty pesto al pasta recipe. You can use jarred pesto for this or make your own. Tyler's simple, classic pesto sauce comes together with just 5 ingredients (plus a little salt and pepper). What I also love about this dish? It’s ready in 20 minutes! Perfect for busy weeknights and with simple ingredients I always have on hand. Ingredients 1 x 500g pack courgettes 1 tbsp olive oil 50g young spinach 2 garlic cloves 2 tbsp lemon juice 75g Parmesan (or vegetarian alternative). Clearly, I named my blog Herbs & Flour for a reason! This creamy pesto pasta is one of those dishes that I absolutely love for its herby, nutty flavour all thanks for basil pesto. When it comes to herby dishes, I am in heaven.

“Why am I like this?!” You yelled to no one in particular in the kitchen.
“The doctors can’t explain it,” Arianna came from behind you, giving you a wink.
“Ha, Ha ha.” You laughed sarcastically. “Seriously, I did it AGAIN,”
“Your little ‘Rain Man’ routine? Aw honey…” Ari made a fake pout face, rubbing your shoulder like a child. “Did you find out anything useful?”
“Useful….?” Your panic attack of the moment was quickly replaced with questioning.
“Well, yeah. Honey if you’re gonna hook him you need a way in,” Ari dropped off her dirty dishes and grabbed a rag, acting completely nonchalant. You blinked several times, making sure you heard her right. When she looked to you for a response, you knew you had.
“A-Are you serious Arianna?!” You screeched a little too loudly, she pulled you into her bosom in  a corner of the kitchen.
“Are you serious?!” You whispered this time. “We haven’t done that since high school, when we were living in that car!”
“Right, and unless you wanna go BACK to living in that car, we’re gonna need a...helping hand,” She nodded towards the front.
“I-I can’t believe this, is THIS why you pushed this?! Was this your plan this entire time?”
“No! Of course not! I really think the little obsession you have with him is….endearing,” she put a hand to your face, but you slapped it away.
“But when I googled him last night, I figured-- I mean, why don’t we both get something out of it?” She shrugged.
“Wha--We-I--...” your brain was running faster than you could process words.
“Look what’s the big deal? You get to sleep with him, care about him, blah blah blah--  all I’m asking you to do is find a crack in that armor,”
“So you can exploit it,” you added coldly.
“Exploit’s such a dirty word Y/N, come on All I do is do some research, dig some skeletons out the closet. If they don’t want them to get out, all they have to do is, I don’t know, throw us a few thousand dollars, and boom! We’re set for another few months!”
“Except that I actually like him, Arianna. He’s a good guy, he doesn’t deserve--”
“Well if he’s such a good guy, then you won’t find anything right?”
“I...yeah, well--”
“He’s still a politician, sweetie. Don’t let the dimples fool you,” She chuckled.
“Look, I hate to rain on your little fairy tale babe I really do, but we need this,” She took your hands in hers.
“Do you remember how hard it was for us when we moved here? Not eating for days? Taking turns sleeping so no one would break into the car? Not SHOWERING?” She shook you.
“YES, okay? Yes, I get it. We need this,” you sighed.
“We need this,” she repeated, putting a finger in your face.
“ORDER UP! Y/N!!” The cook called you for Rafael’s meal.
“I--That’s his, I gotta go,” You moved past her and grabbed the plate with a towel and walked out.
---
Rafael was reading his phone when you came back and placed the steaming plate in front of him.
“Thanks,” He said half heartedly, not looking up from his phone. Well Arianna would be sorely disappointed that you’ve already fucked this up before you knew what you were doing.
“Well don’t eat it all at once,” You tried joking, failing miserably. Who said that?
Rafael glanced up at you, then the food, then you, then his phone with a chuckle as he put it away.
“You gonna make me eat alone?” he grabbed a fork and stuck it in the pasta.
“...I’m working,”
“I won’t tell if you won’t,” he winked.
You were starving, you had forgotten to eat before your shift. And the chicken parmesan looked delicious. You grabbed a fork from underneath the bar and after looking around, took a quick bite off Rafael’s plate.
“Mmmm….” you closed your eyes and licked your lips; their food was absolutely delicious, and your stingy ass boss never let you have any free meals. Finally you looked to see Rafael just beaming at you.
“What?” you scrunched your nose.
“You make these cute little noises when you eat. Like you're savoring every bite,”
“Oh my god…” You instantly swallowed the food and put the fork down.
“No no no! It’s adorable,” he assured you.
“...Well that’s what happens when you’re used to going days without food,” you replied with an embarrassed smile. “You learn to appreciate food,”
“I hear that,” Rafael nodded, continuing to eat.
“Right...the barrio,” you looked to the sky, as if whoever up there was going to absolve you of anything.
“That must’ve been really hard,” you placed your hand over the one he wasn’t using to eat, giving him the softest eyes and a comforting smile.
“I thought we were past that, camarera,” He raised an eyebrow at you.
“Right. Yeah,” You moved your hand and turned away from him, cursing at yourself silently. Arianna was wrong about this, he was too smart. Even if you WANTED to manipulate something out of him, he made you too nervous. He could see through you. Still, the thought of going without food was too scary to ignore.
“I just thought, it was nice to finally find a guy that got what it was like growing up with nothing,” you turned back to him with a sad shrug.
“You know most of the people that come in here are full of money. Always have been, always will be. Then they procreate and give their money to their spoiled little offspring who just grow up and spend it and continue the bourgeois cycle. The rich get richer, and hood rats like us just run around trying to grab the scraps they drop on the floor,” You gestured around the restaurant angrily as you talked.
"Hey, this hood rat did pretty damn good for himself, thank you," Rafael said between mouthfuls of food.
"Right. Well, let me know how that goes for you," you rolled your eyes.
"Hey," He swallowed, "If I can do it, anyone can. Believe me," looked at you with those puppy dog eyes of his.
"Right, sure," you replied sarcastically with a laugh.
"I'm serious!" This time he reached for your hand underneath the bar.
"What about your voo--science?" he asked earnestly.
"What about it?" you raised an eyebrow.
"What if I could do something about it?" He asked, sincerely. Oh God, he was being so sweet.
"B-But I didn't win the game, we're tied," You pointed out, making him sit back and chuckle.
"....So we are," he licked his lips with a smirk.
"Alright then, ask me one more. But NOTHING about family, comprende?"
"Fine by me, I've got one already," you smirked.
"Hit me,"
"Do you want to sleep with Liv?"
His smiled faded to a shocked stare. You saw the thought of lying go through his mind, but apparently he was learning. There was no point in lying, you'd call him out either way.
"...Yes," He finally replied, looking down at the floor for a microsecond. He definitely did not want you to know that.
"But look-- we're better as friends. I know that, she knows that. We've just been friends for such a long time, and we just have chemistry. But nothing will ever happen, I swear," It was like watching yourself, the words just kept tumbling out of him. Finally, he stopped at looked you in the eyes.
"Happy now?" he shook his head, taking a gulp of his scotch.
"Hey I didn't ask for an explanation counselor, you provided that on your own accord," you put your hands up and giggled.
"I--You..." He went over the conversation in his head, realizing only just now you hadn't actually asked to elaborate.
"....You make me nervous," He shook his head with a smile, looking down at his food. His cheeks were the just the faintest shade of pink.
"You are right about one thing though," he spoke without looking up from the floor.
"What's that?"
"It's nice to talk to someone who knows what it's like to not know where your next meal is coming from, or if the next beating is gonna be the one that kills you--" He stopped mid sentence, the pink draining from his face. Actually ALL color for that matter drained from his face. Your eyes went wide, your own face feeling pale.
You hadn't braced yourself for that one, that's for sure. You thought maybe his dad took off on him when he was a kid, maybe he was an alcoholic who would come home drunk every night. Maybe a gambling problem. Not...that.
"I--I didn't mean..." Rafael barely coughed out, his eyes still wide with shock and confusion. How in the FUCK did he let that slip? He would absolutely never even mention things about his dad, let alone make a flippant comment about him. You made him nervous sure, but this was something else. He felt too comfortable around you, too safe. And he wasn't entirely sure he liked that.
"I...I need....I'll be back," He stammered, clearly freaked out. He stumbled off the bar stool and made a bee line to the bathroom.
Arianna took this moment to come out and check on you.
"Well now, did I miss something or were you the one making him nervous?" She giggled but you glared right back at her. "What?"
"I-I can't believe you made me do that!"
"I didn't make you do anything!"
"You--You got in my head, Ari. I lead him, I stroked his hand, I did everything to make him let his guard down, and I didn't even MEAN to do it!" You tried to keep a low voice but you were in moral turmoil right now.
"Babe, you need to learn to embrace this superpower," she took you by the shoulders once again. "You have this way of...enchanting people,"
"Now who's making it sound like magic?" you rolled your eyes.
"Ok for lack of a better word, hypnotizing? Better? People just TELL you things, unprompted. I don't know what it is about you. Your whole cute little "door mouse" demeanor, those big doe eyes. Whatever it is, you charm secrets out of people like snakes. That's why we're friends!" She giggled, but stopped when you made a look of disgust. Did she really just say that?
"I mean, that's one of the reasons we're friends. Not the main one, definitely not," she shook her head, assuring you the best she could.
"But I don't like doing it!!!" You stomped your foot, tears in your eyes. You hated doing it, you hated it. Your "door mouse" demeanor was really genuine, you hated hurting people. But Ari made you do it; and you let her.
"With great power, comes great responsiblity," Ari said in a bold voice, ignoring your eye roll.
"Look if I could do it you KNOW I'd be all over that. But you've got the silver tongue, so I gotta handle the silver,"  She winked, giving you a small hug, like that would make you feel any better. After a moment, she pulled back and gestured to the bathroom.
"So what crawled up his butt?"
"His dad used to beat him," You said it without thinking, instantly slapping your hands over you and hating yourself for just giving her what she wanted.
"OOOH!! Daddy issues, my favorite," she giggled, clapping her hands together.
"ARI, SERIOUSLY. STOP," "This isn't a game, this is people's lives!" The angry tears lining your eyes threatened to drop any second.
"YES, it is. It's our lives, that you need to save. Let the fancy abogado cry about his daddy for a minute, then suggest you go home and make it better," She told you in a completely serious tone and face.
"And do it FAST, we're closing soon," She warned, going to the back as you saw Rafael coming back from the bathroom.
Were you really gonna let her make you destroy someone you actually cared about....again?

do you have any new recipes that you've learned recently? i remember you wrote something a while ago about carbonara and i tried it out for myself it was really fun!!
i love this 😭 im gonna write way too much idec! something that has changed since that post: my kitchen is worse. i have a horrible combi oven which has resulted in me accidentally eating raw chicken, because it had been in there for more than 2 hours at supposedly 230 °C and i was really hungry and thought it HAD to be done by then. also i have less time and less money lol. it has made me a bit sad, and less motivated to cook nice things but i also love food! which means these tips/recipes are gonna reflect that and might seem a bit dull but probably also relatable for a lot of people.   i’ve definitely made spaghetti carbonara a bit too much because it’s simple and require few ingredients! will still vouch for that one tip about substituting the bacon with roasted veggies and other types of meat.
last week i made risotto for the very first time, i think? which means i might be assuming a bit too much, but i think it’s a great dish that you can almost make with whatever you have in your fridge. i made it with roasted beetroot(needs A LOT of time to soften, lesson learned), carrots and parsley root or parsnip(idk the difference), dried rosemary and thyme, garlic and onion. i had some leftover sushi rice, which is great for risotto apparently(love versatile ingredients), roasted them in some oil and then added white wine and chicken stock and actually added a leftover parmesan rind i had in the fridge to give the ‘stock’ some flavour, a bit of nutmeg and then in the end some shredded gouda lol… it was surprisingly delicious and i didn’t even really care to cook the rice perfectly. it also tasted delicious 3 days later, which was a nice surprise. i bet there are tons of risotto recipes online, but as long as you have rice, some kind of flavoured water, i guess you could kind of add whatever you want of veggies and top with whatever herb you have around.
another type of porridge i consume a lot these days is hot oat porridge, which i’ve eaten since i was little and it was the first ‘dish’ i learnt to make myself and it’s cheap. some people really dislike the consistency and look but i don’t. it’s also very easy to customise. i put in whatever nuts and seeds(which are often cheaper than nuts) i have around: flaxseed, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chopped almonds and sometimes a dollop of peanut butter. i let them simmer along with the oats. i like adding those elements because it gives it some texture and it keeps me more full throughout the day. it’s very important to me because i hate spending money i don’t have on fast-food when i’m not home and i hate being hungry. dried raisins, cranberries for a bit of sweetness and if i’m treating myself i’ll add some fresh apples cut into small pieces or some homemade berry compote(i use frozen) or brown sugar. if i had more money i’d use maple syrup but i don’t at the moment. i also add a bit of cinnamon and cardamom, dried ginger etc, whatever you feel like. some people also add milk afterwards but i’d rather spend my milk on my coffee.
a small tip: making chili flake / garlic oil. it’s really delicious, you could put it straight on pasta with some parmesan and pepper and it would be a filling meal. either chop the garlic really fine, grate it, microplane it, smash it to pieces. heat some olive oil until it’s quite hot, then remove from heat and add the chili flakes and garlic. if the oil isn’t hot enough you can just put the pan or pot back on the heat but be careful you don’t burn the chili flakes or garlic, as it will make it bitter. the longer it will toast, the less pronounced the raw garlic flavour will be, so when it smells toasted enough for your taste, take it off. i store it in a tiny glass jar and add it in stews, sauces, toasts, pizza, sandwiches etc. the flavour is very strong imo and everything it touches will smell like it. something to drink: i like strong foods and i like sour foods, which is why i like lemon/ginger based drinks. to make it even more winter friendly and easy to make, i like to grate unpeeled ginger(i hate slices of ginger, they do nothing for me and seems like a waste of ginger), lemon zest, lemon juice and mix it or blend it with some water/apple juice and honey and strain it afterwards. if you have a really nice blender you can just add all of it together with some ice. i’m basically making a large amount of ginger shot mixture. then when i feel like it, i can take some of the mixture and either drink it as it is, add more apple juice if i need a refreshing beverage or add hot water and more honey for when im cold. you could also add turmeric, chili, use less sweetener and other sorts of healthy stuff but i honestly do it for the taste so i don’t care about that that much.
something sweet: i posted earlier about cakes and someone mentioned swedish kladdkaka, which is a super delicious, cheap, brownie-like chocolate cake that is easily customized and hard to fuck up which is why i’ve made it since i was very young and is a go-to and i didn’t even know it was a swedish thing. if you like airy, light cakes this is not for your. this is sticky, sweet and almost like confection. you can add nuts, swirls of peanutbutter, tahini, actual pieces of chocolate, replace the white sugar with brown sugar, the butter with oil(you can be fancy and use a bit of olive oil) or use a mixture, brown the butter, you name it. the recipe i use is this: melt 100 g butter and let cool. mix 2 eggs + 3 dl sugar in a bowl until fluffy in one bowl. mix 1.5 dl flour, 4 tbs cocoa, 1 pinch of salt in another. mix the dry with the wet mixture and add the cooled, melted butter. this is the point where you’d add chopped nuts, chocolate etc. pour the batter into a cake tin lined with parchment (i use one that is 16 cm in diameters i think). bake the cake for around 30 mins at 150°C - 175°C degrees. check on the cake using a cake tester or a a knife. if the knife is clean after … stabbing it, it’s done! the cake will change it’s texture after cooling. this is a cheap cake, and if you like cake dough you might want to give it less time in the oven for a more fudgey texture. make it your own! there are no rules. last time i made this, i left it in for too long in my opinion but it was still delicious. also i literally have a shit oven with a round oven rack that goes in circles no matter what due to the microwave function, and the only ‘mixing’ equipment i have is a whisk and a spatula. no need for kitchen aids or  even electrical hand mixers.
something else i’ve been eating a lot for lunch is simple open faced sandwiches, and something that can really elevate those is: making your own mayonnaise(and toasting the bread). it can be challenging, but it’s really worth it imo and i can’t remember the last time i bought it in a store. i have a small plastic bowl, whisk and 1 egg yolk. something i can really recommend is buying pour snouts for bottles. i transfer my oils from their plastic bottles to smaller, old soda bottles because im cheesy like that and it’s really handy especially when making mayo. constantly whisking the egg yolk by hand and then adding the NEUTRAL oil ever so slowly. don’t be fancy and use cold pressed stuff or extra virgin olive oil because it will taste weird. i only ever fail when i try to use immersion blenders for some weird reason but i find it rewarding to do by hand anyways and i think it might be easier to make smaller portions that way. mayo needs acid and you can get it by adding regular vinegar, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, lime juice, pickle juice, citric acid dissolved in water etc. it’s really easy to customise! when im making banh mi, i add some sesame oil, soy sauce for saltiness and use lime as the acidic element. for more regular use i add a bit of mustard(also helps with the emulsion), for fries, i like adding some fresh garlic. something as simple as mayo, tomatoes, flaky salt and pepper topped with chives is really nice. i also really like using slices of boiled potatoes or boiled eggs(idk if that’s only a thing where i’m from), mayo and the chili garlic oil. it’s also great for making tuna salad. yesterday i made a really simple sandwich with a very simple tuna salad(tuna, mayo, yoghurt, lemon and pepper), arugula, basil, the garlic/chili oil, cream cheese, pickled jalapeños and onions, green peber, cucumber and tomatoes. you could leave out everything but the tuna salad and it would still be a great little meal.
another nice condiment that beats the supermarket stuff by far is homemade ‘pesto’. when i buy parsley from my local grocery store, it’s a gigantic amount that i in no way can consume in a week. first of all when buying fresh herbs i really recommend washing them, wrapping them in a damp towel and keeping them in a closed container. it will prolong their lifetime from lasting a day to a week(change the towel if it seems too wet). i once had some cilantro in my fridge for several weeks and still be fresh. anyways, when i buy that much parsley, i like to remove the tougher parts of the stem(which i use in stews/sauces! chop it up and sautee it along with garlic and onion), add literally just olive oil, water, pepper, garlic, and a bit of acid and then blend away! it keeps for a long time in the fridge and is also delicious beneath tomatoes/potatoes/cheese on open-faced sandwiches. if you want to be fancy you can of course add some type of hard cheese, nuts, seeds, dried tomatoes, whatever.
i know this is the longest text post ever, but as a last reminder, i really recommend watching pasta grannies on youtube. really simple recipes with focus on few, good ingredients that just takes some time and love.

This spaghetti-squash-for-pasta swap slashes both carbs and calories by 75 percent for a delicious, creamy casserole you can feel good about eating. It's worth roasting the squash versus cooking it in the microwave if you have the time: the flavor gets sweeter and more intense.
Directions
Instructions Checklist
Place squash cut-side down in a microwave-safe dish; add 2 tablespoons water. Microwave, uncovered, on High until tender, 10 to 15 minutes. (Alternatively, place squash halves cut-side down on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees F until tender, 40 to 50 minutes.)
Meanwhile, combine spinach and the remaining 1 tablespoon water in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until wilted, 3 to 5 minutes. Drain and transfer to a large bowl.
Position rack in upper third of oven; preheat broiler.
Use a fork to scrape the squash from the shells into the bowl. Place the shells on a baking sheet. Stir artichoke hearts, cream cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan, salt and pepper into the squash mixture. Divide it between the squash shells and top with the remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan. Broil until the cheese is golden brown, about 3 minutes. Sprinkle with crushed red pepper and basil, if desired.
I'm always looking for different ways to use spaghetti squash, this was perfect. Creamy and decadent. I will make it again. The only change I would make is more artichoke hearts. They give it a meaty texture. Read More
This was delicious! I tweaked it just a bit. Subbed goat cheese for the cream cheese used power greens rather than spinach and added some roasted mushrooms for a little extra substance. My husband had a hard time believing there was no meat because it was so rich and luscious. This will definitely be on the rotation. Read More
I will make this again my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I added one garlic clove 3/4 cups cherry tomatoes & 3/4 cups of fresh mushrooms. I would also consider adding shallots & shrimp or chicken the next time I make this.. The dish was surprisingly filling and very easy to make and we have lots of leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Read More
This is really yummy! For me personally I think the cream cheese was a little too much. I will reduce that amount next time. I did add some garlic this time and will try adding some caramelized onions as well the next time. I baked this in a dish rather than the shells. Just easier for putting the leftovers away and since it's just me don't need the presentation aspect of the shells. Read More

sum. Jungkook was the adopted hybrid pup of the new family who had just moved into the second unit of the duplex your family lived in. The moment they brought him home as a kid, he was attached to you and you to him.  Growing up, you thought he’d change, but even as highschoolers, he’s still as attached as ever.
Tumblr media
a/n: Really, just a blurb that got way longer than I indented it to (this was supposed to be a drabble mmk) of Dog Hyrbid Kook being adorable bc @kpopgirlbtssvt forced my hand (this isn’t proofread, oops)
Tumblr media
“Y/n! come out here and meet the new neighbors!” You perked your head up from your small, plastic desk that you sat out, a plethora of crayons littered across it with scribbles of colors that absolutely didn’t stay in the lines of the coloring book picture you were busy filling in. Your hair pulled back- courtesy of your father and his love of hairdressing- as you sat in your favorite, yellow t-shirt and blue overalls.
Hopping up, you ran outside to your mother.  The springtime was the perfect time to keep the front door open and open the window of the storm door, and that’s exactly what your mother did was she was out satisfying her green thumb for gardening. Pushing open the storm door latch that you could just barely reach, you pushed the door open and ran to your mother down the few steps of your porch.
Your family lived in one half of the two-unit duplex in the middle of the city.
You had often complained that you had no kids to play within the neighborhood unless you went to the park- which was too far to go to daily.  You were a bit of a tomboy, always climbing trees, getting down in the dirt and even fascinated with bugs of some kind. It was hard to connect with other little girls sometimes and the boys would tease you, so you often pouted as you scribbled at your desk or was out in the garden with your mother.
Finally, at your mother’s side, you clung to her long skirt she wore, burying your face into it with a giggle before you looked around her leg when she pets your head.  You looked at the middle-aged couple in front of you.  Two women stood there as they interlocked their fingers, and smiled down at the adorable 5-year-old that was you, decked out in yellow and denim.
“Y/n, this is Sheryl and Lidia. They’re going to be our new neighbors starting today.” Your mother told you as she pats your back, encouraging you to let go and face them properly.  “What do you say to them?”
You shyly opened your mouth, hands still clutched in your mother’s skirt fabric.
“It’s nice to meet you,” you all but whispered as the three women all giggled at your wavering, shy voice.
One woman came and knelt close to you as you tried your best to make eye contact with her.  She was very pretty- not as pretty as your mom, but a close second you decided.  Tanned skin and big brown eyes with hair more frizzier than yours when you roughly towel-dried it.
“My name is Sheryl, it’s nice to meet you Y/n.” You only nodded back before she was looking over her shoulder to the moving van in the driveway.  “Jungkook! Come over here and say hello!” She called.
You watched as the van door slid open and a little boy jumped out.  Placing his sneaker covered feet on the pavement, he kicked forward until he ran face-first into Sheryl’s back. Pushing his face into her back and giggling lightly- he seemed no older than you.  Just a small little kid.
“Jungkook,” Sheryl called, making the young boy pop his head up and peek around his first mother’s shoulder. You lightly gasped in a fit of silent awe when you saw the small, triangular dog ears perked upon his head. You had hybrid kids at your school, but they were all kept in separate classes from you and your peers, something you whined about but you wanted a hybrid friend really bad.
His face dusted in rose as he saw a little girl staring at him.
“This is Y/n, she’s going to be living next to us, so you’ve got to be nice and friendly to her.  Okay?”  Jungkook nodded as he looked at you.  He was always shy around girls, not comfortable around them enough.  When he was adopted by his mothers’, it took him over a week to open start acting like their son.  They treated him like any other son- hybrid or not.
Eventually, the women migrated inside so your mother could introduce the two ladies to your father.  You were awkwardly stood in the front yard with Jungkook as he looked at his toes and kicked at nothing, fiddling with his thumbs. You watched his small, black tall sway slightly back and forth as his ears dropped to a curl.
“Sooo,” you started, startling the poor pup as he jumped.  “What kind of dog are you?” You asked, trying to remember what your mother taught you about being polite and asking things delicately.
“I-I’m a Kelpie,” he mumbled.  Your eyes lit up, delighted he even replied to you.
“What do you do for fun? Do you like playing outside?” You asked carefully.  If he didn’t, you wouldn’t push the issue.  You really wanted to play though and what better play partner than your new little boy neighbor?
“Yeah,” he whispered, “I like to play tag a lot.”
“Then, lets play!” Your voice spiked to a shout.  You quickly covered your mouth with your palm when you watched Jungkook jump and back away from you slightly.  “Sorry,” you apologized.  “We don’t have to.” Your voice lowered in dejections, figuring you came on too strong like you normally did.  You watched as Jungkook slowly came closer to you and grabbed a hold of your overalls at the side.
He was looking at his feet, face red as his ears folded in anxiety and his tail swished.
“You’re it,” he told you before you laughed and the chase was on.
Tumblr media
“Y/n! Can you do me a favor!” You heard your mother call from the bottom floor of the duplex you’ve lived in your entire 18-year life.  Pushing up from your desk and gleefully abandoning the physics textbook you had been studying before, you called back.
“Coming!” Running down the stairs, staring at your feet the whole way to avoid any chance of falling down them, you rounded the corning and waltzed into the kitchen.  Passing your father in the living room on the way.  Your mother was busy cooking away at dinner, a pot a pasta boiling and chicken baking in the oven to crumb covered perfection. “What’s up?”
“I think I forgot something over at Lidia’s the other day.  Some seasoning when we were making that new chicken parmesan dish; I cannot find it for the life of me.  Would you run over and see if she’s got it?” You nodded.
“Sure thing. I’ll be like 5 minutes,” you told her.  Heading to the front door, you slipped on a pair of slippers with dog ears on them before you left.  Walking down and around the yard to the unit front door directly next to yours.
Knocking, the door opened to show Lidia herself.  More aged than all those years ago, but still rocking for her age.  You lightly waved to her.
“Hello, Y/n.  What can I do for you?” She asked.
“Mom said she may have left some seasoning her the other day.  She asked me to see if you still had it.  She’s cooking up a storm and you know how picky she is when it comes to seasoning,” you chuckled.
“Oh, darling I know.  Sheryl and I never get tired of teasing her.  Come on in, I’ll go check my cabinets.” She invited you in as you stepped through the door and inside.  “Jungkook is up in his room if you want to say hello,” she offered.
You didn’t say no.  Jungkook was your longest-standing friend- dare you say your best friend.  Although you’ve both grown up and are in your last year of high school, some things haven’t changed.  You still had a problem with connecting to some people, but the opposite was in his case.  He couldn’t be more of a people magnet if he tried.  Ever the smooth talker and with his charisma and unfair good looks, his popularity skyrocketed after middle school.
Bounding up the stairs, you weren’t even able to knock on his door when it swung open revealing the bubbly boy himself.
“Y/n!” He sang as he flung into your chest, koala latching himself onto you.  That was also something that hadn’t changed.  When he would get comfortable with someone, all personal space boundaries vanished.  He literally didn’t understand personal space- but you didn’t particularly mind.
He always smelt so nice and he was warm when he hugged you. Not to mention, he was just the best damn hugger. The small crush you had on him definitely didn’t help matters.  Though, you never let it get to your head.  He was cuddly by nature, being spoiled by his mothers and his K9 instincts telling him that people weren’t the enemy unless they did something just plain awful.
He pushed his nose into your neck before he pulled away from you, smiling as he held one of your hands.
“What’re you doing here?” He asked.
“Mom forgot something here the other day, so I’m picking it up.  I figured I should say hi while I’m here since someone doesn’t have time to visit me anymore.” You teased. He’s been wrapped up in the choir club recently.  They have a competition coming up soon and he’s been practicing for it nearly every day with his instructor. He pouted. “I’m joking!” You laughed.
“You know I miss you.  I tell you every day,” he told you with a pout.  It was true.  He’d literally facetime you everyday whining that he was too busy to see you.  It was a sentiment you appreciated and you assumed he did with all his close friends.  His best friend in the art club always whined that Jungkook called you more than him, a complaint you didn’t really believe.
“Y/n!” You heard Lidia call.  “I found that seasoning dear!”
“Alright, I’m coming!” You called back before looking at the now pathetic looking Jungkook who stood in a slouched pout.  You reached up and scratched at his ears that he had grown into so well.  His tail swishing behind him. “Don’t pout.  You’ll see me tomorrow at school.”
“But you take the bus to school! I get there so early in comparison.”
“That’s a you problem,” you laughed as you pulled your hand away from him and started back down the stairs, waving him off.  Taking the seasoning and thanking the woman, you returned home.
The next morning you sat at the bus stop, headphones plugged into your ears as you waited.  Someone plopped down beside you- nothing unusual- before they yanked one of your earbuds out.  Ready to bit the head off of whoever dared, you stopped yourself before you started. Beside you sat Jungkook- the same Jungkook who absolutely hated the bus.
“Good morning!” He sang. “I wanted to go to school with you today.” He chirped as he yawned and put his head on your shoulder.  You just rolled your eyes as you continued scrolling on your phone.
When the bus came and you loaded onto it, Jungkook plopped himself down next to you and replaced his head back on your shoulder, even slinging his arm over your lap to keep you closer to him as the bus jostled you both around. Dozing off and on, he watched as you read something other another on your phone screen.
“Hey,” he whispered lightly you barely heard it.  You hummed at him. “You’re going to come to the competition this weekend, right? For choir?”
“Well, that depends,” you put your phone down, patting at the hand that sat in your lap.  “Do you want me to, Pup?” He giggled lightly, the older than thou nickname of his youth only you were allowed to call him making him giddy. He nodded against your shoulder, snuggling into it more- not giving two flying acorns at who may be scoffing at his display of public affection for his favorite human.
“Yeah, I do.”
“Then, I’ll be there.”
The school day went as it always did as you hung around Jungkook and his group of 6 other guy pals. All strange, all different and all equally as crazy as him.  The most ‘normal’ boy being a self-proclaimed genius who couldn’t spell out the word ‘necessary’ without having an aneurysm because of the unnecessarily large number of s’s needed.
They were good guys at least.  You were happy Jungkook had people to really connect to and he always made sure you were always included- so you never felt left out. You currently sat on a bench in the halls during lunch as Hoseok, one of his friends, sat on the floor with a thermos of water at his side.  Talking about how the dance recital he had coming up in a month was wearing him out.
You let out a small ‘oof’ when Jungkook had appeared from seemingly nowhere and threw himself across your lap and the bench.  His back on your legs as he stared up at you as you popped a piece of the sandwich you ate into your mouth.
“Can you get off me?” You asked.
“Jungkook, you know you’re not a lap dog, right?” Hoseok asked from the floor with a hint of amusement in his voice. Jungkook just looked offended at Hoseok as he curled into you, wrapping his arms around your midsection.
“Jungkook!” You whined as he held you with an iron grip.  Working out being his second favorite hobby besides singing.  “Go cling to Hoseok instead!”
“He won’t cuddle us,” Hoseok told you.  You stopped your micro-shoves on his shoulders as you started talking to the dancer again.  Jungkook cuddling deeper into your stomach. “Well, I guess I could say he does, but he certainly does whine a lot.  No one quite satisfies the affection-craving dog like you do, girly.” He broke out into a fit of laughs before speaking again. “One time, he kept whining because he wanted to cuddle you, but you were in gym, so Jimin tried to help but Jungkook just growled at him.”
“Jungkook!” You scolded as he just whined.
“I don’t wanna hug anyone else anymore!” He complained. “Only you,” he solidified. You just sighed, letting him once again get away with his childish needs as he practically napped on your lap the entire lunchtime.
It was then like that day after day.  Even when he was at his competition, dressed in his black slacks and white dress shirt, his hair neatly parted and brushed, he hugged you.  He’d lean on your back as he hugged your waist or push his cheek on your shoulder when he had a chance to sit down beside you.
As you sat among the audience of the people listening to the choir, you had to keep your heart from beating out of your chest because you swore he stared at you the entire time.
The evening after the competition, he practically begged you to stay over at his house. You gave in pretty quickly and Jungkook worshiped your mom for letting you. Normally, you’d just put down a sleeping bag on the floor, but tonight Jungkook was adamant you sleep beside him.
“I- I don’t think we have to,” you weakly battled.
“No.  You smell nice, you’re warm and you’re my favorite so you need to sleep next to me so I can sleep well.”
You flailed around, unable to take all the heart papulations he probably wasn’t aware he was causing.  In the end- as per usual- he got his way as he clung to you at midnight when you both settled down for bed.
Laying behind you, he held you around your waist and pushed his face into your hair.  Slipping his leg between yours and pulling you as close to his chest as possible. He cracked his closed eyes open not long after the two of you had gotten comfortable.
“You don't mind me holding you, do you?”
“Now you’re worried about your clinginess?” You chuckled.
“Well, it’s just-” he cut himself off with a whine as he pushed his nose down into your neck.  “It’s complicated,” he told you.
“Complicated how? Not like you haven’t hugged me before.”
“It’s just different now.”
“No?” You questioned.  You tapped at his arms, telling him to loosen them as you twisted around to face him.  His face was lowered as he looked a tad sad. “Hey,” you whispered, caressing his cheek, “what’s wrong, Pup?”
“You’re my favorite human,” he told you.  You’d heard him tell you that before. You nodded at him.
“I know,” you told him softly.
“No, I mean-” he shut his eyes as he pushed his face into his pillow. He groaned into it.  “Y/n?” He asked when he lifted his face back up. “S-someone told me that you liked, Hoseok.  Is that... true?”
You pulled away from him, shock painted on your face.
“Who told you that?!”
“W-well, you’ve been spending a lot of time with him recently!” Jungkook seemed panicked like he was trying to cover something up.
“He’s been asking advice on how to ask out this girl in my Korean class who happens to be my deskmate,” you told him with a light laugh. “I, in no way, like Hoseok like that.  He’s a swell guy, but I’d probably never date him.” Jungkook relaxed as he smiled.
“So, you don’t like him?”
“No,” you answered with a smile. “What a silly thing to be anxious about.” You pet at his head as he shut his eyes.
“It’s not silly,” he told you. “Not when I thought I’d have to compete with my friend for you. I was stressed, okay?”
“Huh?” Your brain seemed to have shut off.  “What does Hoseok have to do with me? And compete?”
“You’re my favorite human,” he told you again. “The one human I wanna hug and hold and I wanna kiss you too.  I wanna hold your hand and walk around in public.  I want to talk about the future with your mom and win over your dad.  I want you to stay my favorite human forever, and I want you to think of me as your favorite hybrid.” He snuggled into your chest, hiding his burning face.  “I really like you, Y/n.”
You froze for a moment, making the dog’s stomach turn.  He eased in instant relaxation when you pet at the back of his head and scratched his ears. He took in your scent he loved so much as you just pet him.
“You were right, it wasn’t silly. Sorry for calling it that,” you told him as he just shook his head. “I really like you too, Jungkook. Honestly, I’m shocked Jimin didn’t spill his gut when I told him about my crush on you.” You laughed lightly, making the dog-boy hold you closer.  “Let’s just sleep for now, and we can talk about all this in the morning.” He nodded silently.
Before falling asleep, he smiled when he felt you kiss the top of his head, his tail wagging across the mattress.

What Recipes Use Ricotta Cheese
Tumblr media
Hey there! If you're looking for some delicious recipes that feature ricotta cheese, then you've definitely come to the right place. Ricotta is an incredibly versatile ingredient - it can be used in both sweet and savory dishes alike, making it the perfect addition to any meal! In this article, I'm going to share with you my favorite recipes using ricotta cheese. From classic lasagna dishes to a decadent cheesecake dessert, these recipes are sure to please your taste buds. So without further ado, let's dive into all of the yummy possibilities ricotta has to offer! Lasagna I absolutely love making dishes that involve ricotta cheese! One of my favorite recipes is lasagna. It's a classic Italian dish made with layers of pasta, tomato-based sauce and creamy ricotta cheese. The best part about this recipe is that you can really customize it to your taste by adding in whatever vegetables or meats you like - I often add stuffed peppers for an extra burst of flavor. When preparing the ricotta layer for the lasagna, make sure not to overmix it - just combine the ricotta, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper together until they are blended but still slightly chunky. This will give you a nice texture contrast when served alongside the rest of the ingredients. You can even sprinkle some herbs on top before baking if desired. Once all the layers are assembled, bake at 350°F for 25 minutes and let cool before serving. If lasagna isn't your thing, why not try a delicious pasta bake? Simply mix cooked macaroni noodles with plenty of ricotta cheese, diced tomatoes and other tasty toppings and bake until golden brown. Enjoy! Stuffed Shells I love to make stuffed shells with ricotta cheese. It's a simple recipe that takes less than an hour and tastes amazing! First, I cook the jumbo pasta shells according to the instructions on the package. While they are cooking, I mix together ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, eggs, parsley and garlic in a bowl until it forms into a thick paste. Then I spoon this mixture inside each shell before topping them with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Stuffed peppers is another favorite of mine when using ricotta. To prepare these delicious peppers, I start by preheating my oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Next, I slice up some bell peppers lengthwise and remove any seeds from the center. Afterward, I fill each pepper half with a combination of ground beef or turkey mixed together with ricotta cheese and spices such as oregano and basil for flavor. Finally, I bake them for about 25 minutes covered in foil before uncovering them for 10 more minutes so they can brown nicely on top. Garlic bread also goes great along side many Italian dishes like lasagna or even my stuffed peppers mentioned earlier. For garlic bread all you need is your favorite type of bread - be it French or Italian - olive oil, butter (optional), minced garlic cloves, salt, fresh herbs like parsley or thyme; Then spread the ingredients evenly over both sides of the bread slices before baking at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown and crispy around the edges. Eggplant Parmesan I'm so excited to make Eggplant Parmesan! It's one of my favorites. To make it, you'll need eggplant, ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, and Italian seasoning. Start by slicing the eggplant and layering it with the ricotta and parmesan cheese in a baking dish. Bake it in the oven at 350°F until the eggplant is tender and the cheese is golden. Serve it with some freshly grated parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning. You can also serve it with a side of tomato sauce or atop some cooked pasta. Yum! Ingredients I love making eggplant parmesan. It's one of my favorite savory pies to make and I always use ricotta cheese as an ingredient. Not only is it creamy, but it helps balance out the flavors in the dish too. Ricotta cheese also adds an extra layer of texture which makes this already delicious classic even more enjoyable! You can also incorporate ricotta cheese into pasta dishes like lasagna or manicotti for a tasty twist on traditional Italian recipes. Plus, you get all of the same benefits from using ricotta cheese with these meals as well! There's no limit to how creative you can be when cooking with ricotta cheese so don't be afraid to experiment and have fun with your food! Cooking Instructions Cooking instructions for eggplant parmesan are relatively simple. - First, you'll need to slice the eggplants and fry them in a pan with some oil until they're golden brown. - Then, layer the fried slices of eggplant into an oven-safe dish before adding a generous helping of ricotta cheese over top. - After that, add your favorite tomato sauce as well as any other ingredients such as mozzarella or Parmesan cheese if desired. - Finally, bake the entire thing at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For vegan substitutions, try using vegan cheeses like Daiya instead of ricotta and dairy cheeses. If you're looking for healthy alternatives, consider swapping out the frying oil for something healthier like olive oil! The possibilities are endless when it comes to making delicious eggplant parmesan so get creative and have fun experimenting with different flavors and ingredients! Serving Suggestions Now that you've cooked your delicious eggplant parmesan, it's time to think about serving suggestions. To start, why not try grilling up some pizza dough and laying slices of eggplant parm on top? This is a great way to enjoy this dish during the summer months when grills are in full use. You can also make a ricotta pizza with the eggplant parm by adding dollops of ricotta cheese onto pre-made pizza dough and topping it off with generous helpings of the eggplant parm. Both dishes will be flavorful and sure to impress all your guests! For an even more creative twist, consider making mini pizzas or calzones using these same ingredients for a fun appetizer option. With so many options available, there’s no wrong way to serve up your homemade Eggplant Parmesan dish! Cheesecake I love baking with ricotta cheese. It adds a light and creamy texture to so many recipes, but I especially enjoy it in cheesecake. There are endless possibilities when it comes to creating an amazing cheesecake with ricotta – from classic Italian flavors like lemon or orange to decadent dark chocolate combinations. You can also top your cheesecake with fruit toppings for added sweetness, or even make vegan options that don't use any dairy at all. When making my own version of ricotta-based cheesecake, I like to get creative with the flavor profile by adding complementary ingredients such as almond extract, walnuts, and honey. This gives the cake an extra layer of complexity that really stands out after baking. If you're feeling adventurous, you could even try experimenting with different kinds of extracts and spices like cinnamon or nutmeg! No matter how you choose to customize your recipe, one thing is certain - nothing beats the combination of delicious ricotta cheese and sweet creaminess of a perfect slice of homemade cheesecake. Enjoy! Ricotta Pancakes I love making recipes with ricotta cheese! One of my favorites is ricotta pancakes. They are a delightful way to start your day, and they can also make for an easy breakfast-for-dinner dish. All you need is some flour, baking powder, eggs, milk, butter, sugar and of course ricotta cheese - mix it all together in one bowl and you've got yourself the perfect pancake batter! Another great recipe that features ricotta cheese is ricotta brownies. This recipe is a bit more involved than the previous one but still relatively simple. You'll need cocoa powder, melted butter, eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla extract as well as the ricotta cheese - stir everything together until fully combined then bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes or so. The result? Deliciously gooey chocolatey goodness that everyone will love! If sweet treats aren't really your thing then why not try a savory version instead? Ricotta dip makes a great appetizer or snack - just mix together softened cream cheese with ricotta cheese and seasonings like garlic powder and onion powder (or whatever else strikes your fancy). Serve it up along side some veggies or chips and watch it disappear in no time! Frequently Asked Questions How Long Does Ricotta Cheese Last In The Refrigerator? Storing tips and expiration dates can be confusing when it comes to ricotta cheese. Generally, if you store ricotta cheese in the refrigerator after opening, it should last for up to five days. It's best not to keep it any longer than that as the consistency of the cheese will start to change. To make sure your ricotta is fresh, look out for sour odor or a slimy texture on the surface- these are signs that the cheese has gone bad - and discard accordingly! Is Ricotta Cheese Gluten-Free? If you follow a gluten free diet, then you'll be pleased to know that ricotta cheese is generally considered gluten-free. Ricotta nutrition varies depending on the type of milk used in production, but it can provide an excellent source of protein and calcium with minimal fat. Keep in mind though - while ricotta cheese itself is generally safe for those following a gluten free diet, other ingredients added to recipes that use ricotta may contain traces of gluten. So always check labels carefully before preparing any dish using ricotta cheese! Does Ricotta Cheese Need To Be Cooked? Yes, ricotta cheese typically needs to be cooked before you can enjoy it. Adding ricotta to dishes gives them a creamy texture and rich flavor, so if you're looking for a substitute for dairy in your recipes, try substituting ricotta instead! Just remember that you'll need to cook the ricotta before adding it into the dish. What Is The Difference Between Ricotta And Cottage Cheese? Ricotta cheese and cottage cheese have some similarities, but they also have several distinct differences. For starters, ricotta has a much softer texture than cottage cheese - it's almost creamy! Additionally, the taste of ricotta is slightly sweeter compared to cottage cheese. Finally, while both are made from milk curds, ricotta is produced by combining whey with an acidic ingredient like vinegar or lemon juice. This process makes for a more flavorful option that can be used in many different recipes. Can Ricotta Cheese Be Frozen For Later Use? Yes, you can freeze ricotta cheese for later use! For best results and a longer shelf life, store it in an airtight container. Make sure to leave some room at the top of the container so that when the ricotta expands during freezing, there is still space. To thaw frozen ricotta cheese, simply remove it from your freezer and place it in the refrigerator overnight to slowly defrost. You can also microwave individual portions on low power or defrost setting until soft enough to stir. Conclusion In conclusion, ricotta cheese is a versatile and delicious ingredient that can be used in many recipes. Its mild flavor makes it ideal for both savory dishes like lasagna and sweet treats like cannolis. Ricotta cheese has a short shelf life when stored in the refrigerator but can also be frozen for later use. Additionally, ricotta is gluten-free and does not need to be cooked before using it in your favorite dish. With its creamy texture and subtle flavor, there are countless possibilities for how you can incorporate ricotta cheese into your cooking! So don’t hesitate to try something new with this amazing ingredient - you won't regret it! Read the full article

💗💥☀️🌙🌺 for all your ACTIVE RP charr.
Oh my! To keep this from going overboard, I’m going to keep this to Charr that are participating in active guild or open RP! Let’s get started...
Sela Lunarstep:
💗 Ramble a bit about this character!
Oh gosh, there’s so much to ramble about! Sela’s actually not my oldest EU character, she’s younger than Kurra by a smidge, but she’s definitely my favorite! She’s currently having a pretty rough go of it, but I really love thinking about her “private” life outside of Warband stuff - she gets into tussles, makes jewelry, all sorts of exciting things! :3c Sela’s name comes from, shocker, the Greek moon goddess Selene, while Lunarstep has changed a bit over the years. Originally, she was a shadowstep thief build, which is where the Lunarstep came from, but now it’s more of a... she’s always at the front of the pack, leading the charge, sort of deal. :p
💥 Are there any emotions your OC doesn’t know how to deal with, doesn’t understand or hates having to feel? Any reason behind this?
Sela is garbage at dealing with anything related to her own vulnerabilities and weaknesses, aha. She’s built up this huge facade of bravado that fixates on her being the perfect soldier and the best Legionnaire and so she has a huuuuge amount of trouble asking for (or accepting) help, or admitting that she can’t do something. Vulnerability is a big no-no and so naturally, although she does well with the more maternal relationships within her Warband, she really struggles with anything that veers towards the romantic. As far as hating to feel something, she hates to be embarrassed or humiliated, again related to her own pride and confidence.
☀️ How well does your OC take care of themself? Do they tend to put others before their own wellbeing and if so how often? What is their favourite way to pamper themself?
I’d say that she does a pretty good job of taking care of herself, but she absolutely puts others before herself. She prides herself on taking care of her warband and spoiling them and that often translates to making sure they get the lion’s share of the goodies while she scrimps. That said, she does have enough of an ego to feel that she “deserves” the good stuff, so she generally takes care of her own needs pretty well. Except sleep.
🌙 What are some of your OC’s favourites? Favourite food, colour, season, stuff like that! Give some general simple facts that tend to get overlooked!
Hmmm, stuff that’s overlooked... well, her favourite colour would be purple, season would be fall (she likes the milder weather and really enjoys the autumn leaves), flavorwise she loves spicy things (honestly, just because she’s trying to show off and be tough) as well as deep rich flavours... More obscure stuff might be: Her favourite time of day is late night, favourite bunk is the bottom one, favourite horn is her upper right one, favourite instrument would be the flute (she tends to prefer her music in the higher ranges - piccolo’s up there too!), and favourite cheese would be a nice heady parmesan.
🌺 What additions would your OC make to their body if they could? Lets say, if they don’t have a tail would they want one? Wings? Horns? Do they wish they could shapeshift?
Sela’s pretty happy with her body as it is, but there’s definitely a few changes she’d make. As much as they’d get in the way, she kinda wants bigger horns, and definitely bigger teeth. She’d love to be even more flexible than she is, and she’d like some extra muscle and definition to her legs. Wings would be nice, but definitely not all the time. Shapeshifting, of course! That would come in so handy!
Graf Towercleave (Yes, he still counts >.> ):
💗 Ramble a bit about this character!
Ah, Graf, my old man... Graf is definitely one of those characters with the most fleshed-out backstories, especially in how it affects him nowadays, and all the traumas and memories that come with it. I don’t remember the inspiration for his first name, but the second part was because he was originally designed to be a WvW Firebrand in his off-time (which... never came to fruition, oops), so Towercleave. I’m really excited to see the next step in his journey, though it coincides with my own journey in such a way that I do find myself getting emotional about the good-byes... ;w;
💥 Are there any emotions your OC doesn’t know how to deal with, doesn’t understand or hates having to feel? Any reason behind this?
I’d say that Graf doesn’t really do well with a lot of the “non-Charr” emotions/feelings: any sort of romance, faith, or selfishness. He’s learned to deal with them in others, to be sure, but they’re still fairly alien to him. I’d say that as far as things he experiences that he struggles with, it would be the trauma of his past - whether it’s something that he experienced in the Sieges, or in his time with the Vigil, he... doesn’t do well with being “scared”, or not in control.
☀️ How well does your OC take care of themself? Do they tend to put others before their own wellbeing and if so how often? What is their favourite way to pamper themself?
He does good at taking care of himself, though perhaps a bit more spartan than is strictly necessary, because that’s what he’s used to. He’s been a soldier his whole life, through and through, and he knows how important maintaining his equipment, including his body, is. He does a good job at keeping himself in shape and healthy, though perhaps to a detriment of not allowing himself many luxuries (except for warm baths, those are always welcome). Although he does consider others, he usually tends to leave them to their own devices, except when he decides they’re too young/naive/bullheaded to do it properly, such as a certain blue-haired warbandmate.
🌙 What are some of your OC’s favourites? Favourite food, colour, season, stuff like that! Give some general simple facts that tend to get overlooked!
Favourite food would be some good old traditional charr chow. Grilled meat, lots of special sauce, no fancy frou-frou to mess with it. Maybe some cheese. As far as colours, although most of his life tends to be filled with red, he’ll admit to liking a nice deep dark navy blue the best. The sea has been a rare treat for him, and he enjoys it when he can. Favourite season would have to be winter. Although he doesn’t care for the snow and cold and slush, he likes the way it makes the world slow down. He likes that everyone hates it together, I suppose. Some more obscure ones... his favourite flavour of pie is strawberry, his favourite place was a small grove in what is now the Dragonbrand - nowadays, it’s probably the Hero’s Canton, because it has the most nice memories without bad ones to taint it.
🌺 What additions would your OC make to their body if they could? Lets say, if they don’t have a tail would they want one? Wings? Horns? Do they wish they could shapeshift?
Honestly, he’d mostly just... fix his current one. Make it less old, less achy, less stiff. Shapeshifting and the rest of it sounds like a lot of faff. He wishes he had a third set of ears so he could hear humans better. Maybe another pair of arms to hold more things.
Naphtha Seizetar:
💗 Ramble a bit about this character!
But I ramble about her so muuuuch, FINE. For any newcomers, Naphtha was originally a villain in a Lunar plot that met a gruesome end, but I loved the concept so much that I had to remake her (a sort of AU, what-if-her-life-turned-out-different) as a good girl. I’ve actually got a sort of spooky story in the works with her (and at the rate I’m going it might be spooky season before it’s ever finished) that’s going to give her a bit of development with her magic because right now the poor girl is a dummy and would rather play with pressure cookers.
💥 Are there any emotions your OC doesn’t know how to deal with, doesn’t understand or hates having to feel? Any reason behind this?
A lot of them, probably. Naph is a sweetie but she doesn’t do well with a lot of “serious” things. She likes being left alone to her own devices and is still getting the hang of the much-more teamwork oriented Seize group. So I guess emotionally, uh, things like teamwork and codependence and responsibility, whatever emotions those are. As far as hates feeling, she really doesn’t like feeling like she’s wrong (ironically). She doesn’t like feeling like she’s being irrational, or that she’s not justified in what she’s doing.
☀️ How well does your OC take care of themself? Do they tend to put others before their own wellbeing and if so how often? What is their favourite way to pamper themself?
She does not. Naph is the kind of gal that would go weeks without showering, live off of corn chips and stale marshmallows she found under the couch, and develop a 12 coffee a day habit so she only has to sleep once a month. Naph does not take very good care of herself at all, and she takes care of others even less. She’s not necessarily inconsiderate, she just... as above, doesn’t do well with the whole teamwork thing and kind of figures that she can take care of herself, so everyone else can too. As far as pampering herself, she rarely goes above what’s “necessary” as far as self-care, but on the rare occasion that she did decide to treat herself, she’d get a lot of fancy soaps and oils and just... go to town on her fur and spend like a whole day grooming and scrubbing and getting the years of grime out of there until she’s as soft and fluffy as can be.
🌙 What are some of your OC’s favourites? Favourite food, colour, season, stuff like that! Give some general simple facts that tend to get overlooked!
Favourite food would be mushroom anything. Probably her favorite ever is something she had in Lion’s Arch one time, some sort of pasta dish with mushrooms and squid ink - it was salty and savory and rich... Her favourite colour would be brown (well, she’d say black but as far as actual COLOURS), and her favourite season would be fall. She likes the spoopy season, and enjoys cronching the leaves. More uncommon things, her favourite shape is octagon, her favorite simple machine is the screw, and her favorite animal is the carrion devourer.
🌺 What additions would your OC make to their body if they could? Lets say, if they don’t have a tail would they want one? Wings? Horns? Do they wish they could shapeshift?
She would absolutely go all out and give herself big ol’ bat wings and like 3 more sets of horns and huuuuge fangs and way bigger claws and a pointy tail and SPIKES and probably a third eye on her forehead... heck yeah.
Elda Throatchop:
💗 Ramble a bit about this character!
Ahhh, Elda. I included her mostly because I wanted to talk about her and also she’s sort of gotten sucked into a few open-ish things lately so she totally counts >.> She’s another NPC-turned-character from Lunar’s Drizzlewood plot, this time a generic helper NPC that was supposed to get killed off but Lunar actually did well enough that she survived, and helped them through the final fight. Aesthetically, she’s actually based off of the Pokemon Obstagoon, which is where her last name comes from as well. Sort of. I’ve honestly had the idea for a Blood engineer in the back of my mind for years now and Elda is absolutely not that! She’s not at all what I would have made had I set out originally to make a Blood engineer, but I love her anyways and I’m really enjoying her.
💥 Are there any emotions your OC doesn’t know how to deal with, doesn’t understand or hates having to feel? Any reason behind this?
Elda hates feeling loneliness. She doesn’t mind being alone, and she can handle that just fine - she likes her private time to tinker or work on projects or test the latest whatever, and she probably does better on her own anyways, but she... needs to know that there’s people there for her if she wants/needs. She doesn’t like being isolated. As far as stuff that she doesn’t know how to deal with, probably regret? She’s so far operated on a kind of “live hard die young” sort of deal (and she almost did, dohohoho) and so when missed opportunities or regrets jump out at her, she’s not really sure what to do about it. It never spurs her to action so she’s kind of just left there staring at it like “so... what now?” and it kind of shuts down her whole mojo for a long time.
☀️ How well does your OC take care of themself? Do they tend to put others before their own wellbeing and if so how often? What is their favourite way to pamper themself?
Elda takes decent enough care of herself. Not exemplary (she’s not out here practicing yoga or getting enough fiber) but well enough! She eats regularly and gets enough sleep and bathes often, so she’s doing pretty good! Although she doesn’t regularly put anyone above herself, she would do it for certain people, like her friends or family. She values them and their role in her life enough that she’s willing to self-sacrifice to make them happy and keep them around. When she does want to treat herself, she tends to splurge a little on some shiny new tool or toy, often with the excuse that it’s for work and it’ll help her be more productive, but she knows that it’s just because it’s bigger and shinier and has an extra spanner or something.
🌙 What are some of your OC’s favourites? Favourite food, colour, season, stuff like that! Give some general simple facts that tend to get overlooked!
Her favourite food would probably be things that are kind of finicky and interactive, so poultry wings, or artichoke, or shellfish. She’s not really picky about flavours, though of course she likes things meaty. Her favourite colour is obviously red, though she’ll admit to a fondness for pink as well. She never understood why humans attach so much meaning to it - pink’s cool. Her favourite season is definitely summer - she likes the clear skies, the bright weather... More random stuff! Her favourite Bop-It command is Twist It, her favourite style of soda pop (if such a thing exists in Tyria, I dunno) is Dr. Pepper, her favourite sport is wrestling, and her favorite piece of clothing is her belt buckle, which is made from the melted down remains of her first gun.
🌺 What additions would your OC make to their body if they could? Lets say, if they don’t have a tail would they want one? Wings? Horns? Do they wish they could shapeshift?
Elda’s pretty happy with how she is, but given her choices, she’d like to be quite a bit taller and a bit bulkier. She wishes her teeth were a bit pointier, and she always wished she could grow a longer mane - she wants to have a big spiky mohawk too. As nice as wings or shapeshifting would be, it seems like having too many things would just get in the way.

Cole: had just washed his hands and was beginning to knead the pasta dough that he'd just made. Well he'd made it earlier in the day and it had been resting while he and Lili went out shopping. "What kind of sauce do you feel like? I can make spaghetti, carbonara, alfredo? Any requests?" He asked Lili, getting out the pasta maker from the cupboard and beginning to turn the dough through it. The living room almost looked like a bomb had gone off in it with all the baby items they'd bought during their shopping trip and with that it really made it feel real that they were going to be having a child in just a few months. The onesies and clothing was tiny and they could add it to the tiny bunny that he and Lili had brought at christmas time. "Do you want something to drink?" He asked Lili.
Lili was busy putting away the bags her and Cole had collected over a long day of shopping when she heard Cole's question. "I'm not really in the mood for a specific noodle or sauce," she smiled at him. "Surprise me." She was too focused on trying to notate down what all they had and what all they still needed to get. It was funny how with all these bags, it looked like they had everything they needed but Lili knew they hadn't even scratched at the surface. Babies needed a lot. "Wine," she answered him wryly but let out a wistful sigh. Wine. God, she missed wine and she wasn't even a big drinker. "Water is fine." Closing her Notes app on her phone, Lili straightened up and made her way into the kitchen to join them. "Is there anything I can do to help?" She asked, swinging her legs over the counter and sitting up on the top.
Cole: "Ooh fun, I could go really out there then" He probably wouldn't though. Lili was a bit of a pickier eater and he wanted to make something that she would actually want to eat, especially since she was pregnant and he knew she needed to keep her calories up, although not by too much. Once the pasta was finished and into nice long lengths of spaghetti, Cole put it into the bubbling water so it could cook. He pulled the ingredients out of the fridge for pesto sauce and began making that. It wouldn't take too long and hopefully Lili would like it. It had parmesan in it and you couldn't really go wrong with cheese. He looked up when Lili answered his next question and Cole gave her a smile, pushing a glass of water towards her. "You can probably have non alcoholic wines, we should try some one day if you want"
Lili wrinkled her nose and gave Cole a pout. "Oh please, there's no point of wine if it's non-alcoholic. That's like sugar free candy or dairy free ice cream. It's a crime." She picked up the glass and sipped from it, watching as he cooked. With the sleeves of his shirt rolled up and his dark hair all frizzy from the heat of the kitchen, he was painting an attractive picture. It was pretty unfair. Lili squeezed her legs together at the thought and took a more vigorous swig of water. Damn baby hormones. If she wasn't crying while reading sad poems, she was getting all hot and bothered about her very unavailable ex. "So seriously, nothing I can do to help?" Lili asked, needing a distraction. "No stirrer needed? Cheese grater? Pepper shaker?"
Cole: "I mean, it'll still taste the same, it's just not got the same effects. But I get what you mean" Cole told her. She was right. It was sort of pointless, especially since most people liked the buzz they got form alcohol. Once the pasta was cooked, Cole put it to drain in the sink and then got out two bowls, the sauce was ready and he was just going to add the two of them together. "Nope, i'm all done" he answered, putting a bowl in front of the two seats at the island and then offering Lili a hand so she could get down and they could sit next to one another and eat dinner together. "What do you think?" He asked, starting on his own bowl of pasta.
Lili "Ah, once again, I am useless," Lili joked and took Cole's hand as he helped her off the counter. The dinner smelled delicious, as always. Before she could sit down, she poured herself some water and then grabbed some bread that Cole still had saved from a previous grocery store venture. It may not have been freshly baked, hot out of the oven in Italy but it'd pair nicely with the pasta. She dipped her bread in the sauce and took a bite, nodding her head. "Delicious, as always. I really need to up my cooking game." Lili had gotten a lot better over the years but she didn't get too experimental in the kitchen and tended to stick with safe dishes. "Thanks for cooking for me," she gave him a smile. "Otherwise I would've eaten something really shitty from Postmates and felt awful afterwards."
Cole: "Oh stop it, you are not. I just didn't have anything for you to do is all" Lili most definitely wasn't useless. Cole just often didn't need too much help. Pasta was easy to make and it didn't take long to cook so there really hadn't been much for anyone to do. "Welcome. It's pretty easy and most food isn't hard, you just have to be ready to fail the first few times you make a dish until you get it right" Pasta was really the only thing that Cole was super good at cooking, everything else was a bit of a gamble on whether or not it would turn out right. "Well I'm glad you stayed for dinner then. Although postmates isn't too bad, I don't think. Depending on what you get"
Lili "I don't typically get healthy food." Lili was doing a lot better eating wise when it came to being pregnant, but it was hard to avoid fries and milkshakes when they were so readily available to you. Her biggest craving lately had been chicken wings washed down with some orange soda and that wasn't exactly what the doctor recommended. She twirled some pasta around her fork and after taking a big bite of it, swallowed with her water. "Maybe you can teach me some," she asked Cole, taking another bite. "You won't always be here to cook for Brooklyn and I'd like to give her some of Dad's favorites when it's my night to have her."
Cole: Cole just continued eating his pasta as Lili spoke. At least she was aware she wasn't eating the best food and it probably wasn't enough to really do anything. "Yeah? I could definitely do that. It's really easy so i'm sure you'd have no trouble making them" Cole had learnt most of his pasta making skills from his dad who made the best pasta Cole had ever had. His Dad had learnt in Italy when he'd lived there before Cole was born so it was no wonder his Dad's skills were that good. "Yeah we're definitely screwed if she doesn't like pasta" Cole joked, drinking from his cup of water. "Not that we have to worry about that for a while at least"
Lili "Sounds good," Lili smiled at Cole. As helpful as Cole was being throughout her entire pregnancy, Lili knew that eventually she'd have to stop depending on him. They were going to be parents together, but she was going to be a single mother nevertheless. She couldn't lean on Cole to provide everything for her or for Brooklyn. "As long as she's not vegan, that's all that matters. Mads keeps telling her that meat is evil and if our baby comes out wanting only organic mush, I'm gonna make Mads change every dirty diaper." Lili smirked at Cole as she said this and took another bite. "But I'm guessing the only thing she'll want is milk for a while so you're right, we've got time." Lili just hoped breastfeeding wasn't the nightmare it seemed to be for other women.
Cole: "It does. Although I don't think babies can be vegan anyways right? If you're breastfeeding then they're still getting milk from something. Unless they have soy formula or whatever" So long as Brooklyn was happy and healthy then that was all Cole could really have wanted and he was just going to support whatever Lili wanted to do as best he could. This was a whole other ball game that they'd really have to learn about, pregnancy was one thing but everything that came after Brooklyn was born was something else entirely. They could just take it all as it came. After his bowl was finished and Cole had drained the last of the water from his cup, he stood up, stacking the dishwasher with whatever he could fit inside it. "So, do you want me to walk you home? Or..you could stay? You can borrow some clothes and we can sort though the bags we got earlier?" He offered.
Lili "Sshh." Lili placed her hand over Cole's mouth, dramatically widening her eyes. "No more v word around this child. Too much damage has been done already." She gave Cole a little wink and as she saw him standing to collect the dishes, handed hers over. She felt comfortably full. Draining the last of her water, Lili stood up and watched as Cole bent down to put away the dishes. Domestic. So domestic. Daddy Cole vibes already..it really wasn't fair. She let out a little sigh and pointed towards the bathroom as he began to ask her a question. "I think I'm just gonna freshen myself up." She wanted to brush her teeth so she didn't have pasta breath and her cheeks could use some cold water to wake her up to reality. Her and Cole were /friends/. Just f r i e n d s. She shut the bathroom door behind her, splashed her face with some water, and squeezed some toothpaste on her finger as she scrubbed her teeth. Stupid Cole being so sweet and charming and sexy and domestic.
Cole: "Alright" Cole chuckled and filled the dishwasher with Lili's dishes before turning it on and beginning to give the hand wash only dishes a quick scrub to put onto the drying rack. "Okay" He nodded at Lili's next words and watched her leave. He still wasn't sure if she was planning on going anywhere or whether she wanted to stay over. Something that seemed to be happening more and more lately. Cole didn't mind. It was a lot nicer than being alone in bed all the time and Lili seemed to sleep well at his place so he was happy that she seemed to be getting some rest which was always a good thing. Walking into his own room and shutting the door, Cole changed out of his jeans and into some sweats, swapping his jumper for a plain singlet. The heater was blasting in the apartment so Cole didn't feel like he needed much else. He left some clothes out that Lili could change into if she wanted and then moved into the lounge room. Most of the baby things were sorted by where they'd been bought but Cole was going to make piles of what they had, clothes, blankets, gadgets etc just so they'd be able to sort them easily later.
Lili didn't immediately leave the restroom. She snooped a little. Opening up Cole's bathroom cabinet, she snorted at the pack of condoms, unscrewed some tops of colognes and smelled them, and nodded approvingly at the skincare products Chrissy had sent him. He was keeping up with his skin care regime, good boy. It wasn't until Lili figured Cole would think that she fell into the toilet that she finally washed her hands one last time for good measure, and opened the door. She could see into Cole's bedroom and saw that he had laid out some clothes for her. Sweet. Incredibly annoying that he was being so attentive and sweet and emotionally unavailable to her but..sweet. She shed her clothes and slipped on his shirt, seeing that it fell mid thigh and deciding to skip the sweats. It was too hot in his apartment anyways. She ran a hand through her hair and tousled it before coming back out to see Cole looking through the bags. "Whatcha doing?" She asked him, leaning against the doorframe of his living room.
Cole: "Cole hadn't even realised Lili had left the bathroom so when she spoke from just to the side of him, Cole just about jumped out of his skin, placing a hand on his heart "You gave me a heart attack" He told her with a smile, "And I'm sorting making piles in the bags of what we have. I figured if we had a different bag for a different category then when we got shopping later, it'll be easier to sort through that way as well. We're definitely going to need some more clothes probably but I think we did pretty good today" At least they had a few of the basic necessities. He looked up to Lili as he spoke his last few words, taking note of her outfit. She looked...hot in his t-shirt. She always had. Lili being in his clothes had always been a turn on and it had been endless when they had been dating. It was different now, especially that she was pregnant but she still looked just as good in his shirts, bump and all.
Lili bit her lip, laughing. "Sorry, scaredy pants," she teased. She hadn't known Cole was that deep in concentration. She straightened up and went to go sit down next to him, seeing the careful piles and arrangements he had already made. It wasn't something she was very interested in but she still perused through them, remembering what they had bought. "I feel like clothes are tricky because who knows how big she'll be and how much she'll grow," Lili told him as she carefully folded a onesie she had picked up and then placed back in the bag. "And some stuff we can order. I saw a few cribs I liked and bookmarked, I'll show you later. But I think we got a lot of essentials." They had almost everything that was needed on the 'baby's first checklist' PDF Lili had found and printed. She glanced back up to see Cole staring at her and she smiled. "What are you looking at?"
Cole: “Yeah we don’t know how big she’ll be but I don’t think she’ll be huge. Maybe long” Cole was pretty tall and Lili wasn’t super short so it was probably easy to assume that Brooklyn could possibly fall somewhere in the middle. His cheeks flushed when he realised Lili was looking at him and Cole had been too intent on looking at her to realise. He could’ve said ‘nothing and waved off an excuse but it felt like Lili had already caught him. “Just you” he told her honestly and moved closer to press a kiss to her lips. When he pulled away, his cheeks were redder still. “Sorry, just ignore I ever did that” Cole didn’t really think Lili would mind but it was a dangerous game to play with both their feelings.
Lili closed her eyes as Cole moved in to kiss her. It was both expected and unexpected; she recognized his soft looks, but he didn't normally go past more than sweet words when it came to them lately. Cole was much more restrained than Lili was. When he pulled back, she licked her lips and shook her head. "You can't apologize for kissing me," she told him with furrowed brows and then moved into kiss him again. "You either want to kiss me or you don't. Make up your mind, Cole." Lili's tone was teasing but they both knew the serious undertone of her statement. It also didn't help that Cole smelled really good and was really warm and that Lili's fingers were now moving through his longer strands of hair as she got closer to his face than she had in a while. "But if you're not going to kiss me, I'm going home because I am so damn horny and you're not helping by being..you."
Cole: “Yes I can. I just did” Cole smirked and shut his eyes as Lili moved to kiss him again. It was a struggle constantly for Cole to not kiss Lili, especially as he always wanted to, much much more than what he ended up acting on. “I always want to kiss you” He told her. One of his hands was moving down her back, the soft of his shirt coupled with the warmth of her skin was making it hard to stop. “Don’t worry, I intend on finishing what I started” He replied, moving in to kiss her once again.
Lili "You're talking too much," Lili said before Cole shut her up with his mouth. As much as Lili loved what Cole had to say, she wanted less talking, more kissing. His hands pressed against her and the feeling of him going to take off the shirt she was wearing made Lili moan and she just kissed him that much harder. /Finally/. It had been so long since they had last done this and the relief Lili felt at just being touched by him made her want to cry. Nobody made her feel as good or as loved or as wanted by Cole and consequences of hooking up be damned - she had an itch to scratch and Cole was finally going to make it go away.
Cole: Lili’s shirt or rather Cole’s shirt that Lili had been wearing had come off rather quickly and once his mission of taking it off had been accomplished, Cole moved to pulls his own singlet off, tossing it amongst the bags they were sorrounded by. His mouth still attached to Lili’s, Cole got up and tried to move both himself and Lili into the bedroom. Dylan wasn’t home yet, at least Cole didn’t think he was but he still didn’t feel like being interrupted in the living room either way. The door had slammed noisily behind them and it was a bit of a stumble but they made it to Cole’s bed. Afterwards, happy and sated, Cole moved his arm around Lili, his eyes beginning to droop shut “I love you” he told her sleepily.
Lili laid stretched out on Cole's bed after they were finished, staring up at the ceiling. She couldn't move due to Cole's arm being on top of her and she didn't want to. She probably should pee - she definitely should brush her hair - but there was something about this moment that she just wanted to stay in and soak in. She had been sleeping alone for some time now and just being this close to Cole was everything. When he spoke, her eyes pricked with tears. It was hard to hear, but she knew he meant it. "I love you too," she whispered back softly and sighed, rolling over so that she was resting her head against his chest. She wasn't tired - far from it - but in bed with Cole, in their own little world, is where she wanted to be.

Rest of the final week of current program & starting some new stuff.
-
Mar. 13
I woke up after 1PM.
Did some dishes before doing today’s workout.
First, today’s DD. 2′ chest squeeze with EC. I forget if I’ve had to do his one for a whole 2′, but oof. That took some digging in, especially in the las ~30″ of it. Got to trembling from fatigue and occasionally paced a bit as distraction. But mission accomplished, there.
Last, Chapter 58 of AoP. First section was traveling, 24TP. Done at Level 2, as high knees, and in one go. Was a bit of a challenge loading things that way. But manageable.
Workout proper was done at Level 3 (7 sets, 20 push-ups per set.) I definitely savored the 2′ rest time. Had a brief bit of doubt whether I could maintain Level 3, but happy I managed. Admittedly push-ups weren’t very refined and counted holds a bit fast. No less a challenge.
Picked up some iced coffee and spent time updating some logs/archives. Keep falling behind on that tool, keep recognizing this as a sign things Are Not Going Well. But anyways...
I did make another Hello Fresh meal, today. Southwest plant-based protein over rice. A pretty tasty recipe. I think I’m getting a bit of a hang of handling this plant-based protein stuff, in cooking.
Spent rest of day on the usual stuff.
Got to bed around the same time as yesterday, in the red zone.
-
Mar. 14
I woke up around 11AM.
Did a bit of the usual before starting on my exercise...
First, today’s DD. 40 push kicks with EC (20/20). A fun little exercise, nothing too flashy.
(After an interlude of distractions...)
Last, Chapter 59 of AoP. Looks like yesterday, I traveled to the wrong camp location - so I made the first thing I did for the chapter was traveling the 25TP from where I was and where I needed to be. Level 2, as high knees. I split this into 15+10.
Did the workout proper at Level 3 (5 sets, 4 push-ups per defined combos). I went for max rest.Push-ups got a bit sloppy and I did get to feeling it.. But it wa ultimately manageable work!
After hitting the showers and sketching a future art project idea, I spent the rest of night on the usual.
I got to bed a little earlier than yesterday, still in the red zone.

Mar. 15
I woke up around 10AM
Did a bit of the usual before getting to a psychiatrist appointment. Went okay, aired out a thing and was met with understanding/receptivity. I still think my meds are staining a bit - but hopefully getting back to one-on-one therapy will help.
After getting home, doing some fic reading, and whatnot, got in my exercise.
First, today’s DD. 3′ overhead punches with EC. I counted 382 punches thrown in the duration, happy I managed to stay over 2/sec at that. Very enjoyable exercise.
Last, Chapter 60 of the Age of Pandora Program. Like last time, I went for Morse’s Plan, figured that’d be a fun thing to test against my previous run of the program.
Lotta basic burpees and squats, but unlike last time I managed Level 3 instead of 2 (7 instead of 5 sets). It was still pretty intense, but not quite as brutal as it was for me a year into this journey, yay for progress (definitely dig what a difference going at this stuff has made in the last 5 years...)! \o/
I then made today’s Hello Fresh meal. Pasta primavera in lemon Parmesan sauce. I thought this was pretty tasty.
Spent rest of night on the usual stuff.
I got to bed obscenely late, in the red zone.
-
Mar. 16
I woke up around noon.
Spent a few hours on: getting iced coffee, doing dishes, breaking down some boxes, and organizing some cookware that I recently decided on ordering.
After that and some of the usual peppered in, did exercise.
First, today’s DD. 40 plank rotations with EC. Manageable - took a bit of focus to maintain balance for all of it. Did get a little bit of fatigued, but doable.
Second, Day 1 of the Square One Program. This is a Level 1 Program - so I’m treating it as gentle strength-training and warm-up for the next part of docket. The load was light enough that I modded UP (not using a chair assist) exercises, did things at Level 3, and nixed the rest periods. We’ll see how well I may maintain this - but don’t anticipate issues there.
Last, Day 1 of the Reboot Program. Level 2 Program (cardio-centric), definitely a good deal more intensive than prior for it, considering this the meat of my exercise plan. Did this at Level 3 again, but kept to max rest (did all the hidden burpees, a tiny bit tough on the knees today.)
Spent rest of night on the usual, clothes shopping, and jotting down some more iZ!AU notes.
I got to bed a few hours earlier than yesterday, but still in the red.
-
Mar. 17
I woke up around 11AM.
Went to Seeking Safety Group again, today. Twas alright made some writing notes while teir. Thought about whether I could have the time afterwards to run out to a convenience store while I waited on pick-up - but didn’t do that.
Once I got back home, I got going on my exercise.
First, today’s DD. 50 back leg raises with EC (25/25). Did things as a balance variation. It was nice given how crampy my right hamstrings/glutes were feeling for some unknown reason.
Second, Day 2 of the SOP. Level 3, no rest. Arm work, i kept my arms up for all of the sets and in between them. Got a bit more intensive in the last couple levels.
(After a bit of recovery time, given there was more arm work ahead...)
Last, Day 2 of the RbP. Level 3, max rest. Yeah a lot of bicep extensions / arm raise hold times. Definitely a more intensive load that SOP. Arms got nice and tired.
Spent rest of the day on the usual stuff.
Got to bed later than yesterday.
-
Mar. 18
I woke up around noon and one of the first things I took care of was exercise.
First, today’s DD. 100 shoulder taps with Ec (standing). Manageable work, a bit tough in the last 30 reps or so.
Second, Day 3 of the SOP. Flexibility day, Level 3, no rest again. The Achilles/calf stretches were satisfying. Pretty breezy and good warmup.
Last, Day 3 of the RbP. Leg day, Level 3. I rested ~1′ in between sets, this time. Kinda glad for the short/small lunge intervals here. I feel like I need to give the knees some TLC again here soon...
Spent several hours on the usual stuff (reminisced about some old fandom stuff). Did a bit more writing before getting to bed too.
I got to bed obscenely late, in the red zone
-
Mar. 19
I woke up around noon.
After some YouTube, I got going on my exercise.
First, today’s DD. 10 archer push-ups, no EC. I wasn’t confident enough to do this type of push-up off the knees today - so modded things down that way. Yeah. Not a huge fan of these
Second, Day 4 of the SOP. Level 3, no rest, no assists. Enjoyable and gentle balance work, is what I got from it.
Last, Day 4 of the RbP. Level 3, max rest. Ooof. got to sweating buckets and winded - but done! I’m kinda surprised at how this Level 2 program isn’t as much of a cakewalk as it may seem. the hidden push-ups also helped make things that much more intense. (But I’m still in good enough condition to meet the challenge and I still think the rating is appropriate!)
After a bit of chatting, I made today’s Hello Fresh Meal. Oven-ready chili coconut curry chicken. A pretty low-effort meal, which I appreciated. That said - I may have to throw it in oven longer than specified next time around (i think I may’ve used a bit too much foil to cover the tins - might’ve drawn more heat away from the food like the chicken.) Otherwise pretty enjoyable.
After some dishes and chatting, got some substantive writing progress in (letting FocusMe do it’s job for me more effectively, helped).
I got to bed obscenely late, in the red zone... again.

Summary of Experience:
I completed my second run through the Age of Pandora Program in March 15. Quite a few days later than intended... but February/March has really been kicking my ass in terms of stress and energy levels.
At any rate, these are my stats from this run of the program:
Points Traveled: 1,428TP, Level 2, as high knees. (1 point = 10 steps.)
Challenge Levels Taken:
Level 3 for 45 Days (vs 19 from prior record!) - Feels pretty good hitting Level 3 for most of it, this time! \o/
Level 2 for 3 Days (vs 29 from prior record)
Level 1 for 1 Day (vs 1 from prior record) - Chapter 55 still kicked my ass, needed to break after Set 2... again. orz
Jobs Taken: 17 (5 Canis + 12 Misc/Ch.) - Looks like I did considerably less than last time.
Fights Won (Pits): 4 (City Pits) - Not counting instances for plot. It was fun doing more of these, this time around! Probably overdid it a little bit in pacing/loading. Pffft.
[Ending] Scraps: 200
Paths Taken (Spoiler-Free Version): Same as prior run!
Alana, Dicer, and Morse were invited to my camp, again.
---
My stats for the previous run from 2016, for reference...
