it   felt   like   a   long   time   coming   ,   but   the   moment   had   finally   passed.   finally   .   .   .   finally   the   two   of   them   were   wed   ,   a   promise   made   years   ago   kept   &   made   all   in   one   grand   night   with   their   families   &   royal   figures   in   attendance.   it   didn't   matter   to   mason   who   came   or   who   agreed   with   the   union   of   their   two   kingdoms.   no   . . .   all   that   mattered   was   the   man   he   was   destined   to   be   married to   ,   standing   opposite   to   him   at   the   altar   ,   beaming   with   pride   &   perhaps   some   tears   in   his   eyes   as   he   took   his   hand.   since   they   were   children   they   had   played   &   been   together   ,   never   once   caring   about   the   allegiance   their   parents   had   made   long   before   they   were   born.   they   had   been   lucky   that   their   friendship   bloomed   so   easily   ,   &   despite   the   ten   years   they   spent   apart   for   a   time   ,   their   love   never   wavered   &   eventually   transformed   into   something   much   stronger   ,   more   true.   saying   ❛   i   do   ❜   were   the   easiest   words   mason   has   ever   said   before   , &   he   knew   it   must   have   shocked   his   family   to   see   him   bend   so   easily   ,   especially   when   they   only   just   brought   him   back   to   the   kingdom   a   few   months   ago.   if   only   they   knew   of   the   love   that   laid   between   them   ,   the   true   love   the   prince   felt   for   the   other.   its   rare   when   an   arranged   marriage   bears   actual love   ,   but   they   managed   to   make   it   happen   ,   &   mason   &   @gunbash   both   promised   each   other   their   union   would   not   be   a   miserable   one   as   their   parents   had   been.   their   rule   would   be   peaceful   ,   beautiful   ,   paired   with   a   happy   &   blissful   union.   happy   indeed   ━━   this   was   perhaps   the   happiest   mason   has   ever   felt   in   his   whole   life.

Wai okay so like, one thing I wanted to add in that drawing but ran out of phone battery power and was racing against it, was the names of the cats. And also lil info on that big chubby black cat.

The big chubby black cat was Mel's first cat named Ace, and he was also the only cat Mel was supposed to have. But then Mel saw a couple of stray kittens, took them in. Heard bout senior cats not getting adopted in the shelter, also took them in. Saw more stray cats, took those in too. Next thing he knows he suddenly has 24 cats and still won't stop taking in strays but at least he gives those away to other loving homes now instead of keeping them.

He has their names themed. 12 cats named after zodiac signs, the other 4 black cats are named after playing cards to be themed with Ace's name (Spade, Diamond, Heart, Club). 2 cats named Cupcake and Muffin, 4 cats named after directions (North, East, West, South). And 1 cat named Palace. (He found this one nearby Alec and Ray's place and decided to name her following the theme of Alec and Ray's pet naming).

Cuz Alec and Ray has 6 cats and 1 dog (4 cats belong to Ray, the 2 cats and 1 dog belong to Alec. Have I told yall they live together? Well now I have. They also have a big aquarium with clownfishes and blue tangs in it. Finding Nemo yes) Also like wait, Alec technically has 2 dogs but 1 dog (her name is Diana) is living with his parents while the other one lives with them.

Ray's cats are named Princess, Prince, King, and Queen (my guy was also only meant to have 1 cat which was Princess oh but looky here, he ended up with 3 more). He roped Alec into following the theme with his own pets so Alec's cats got named Duchess and Duke with the dog being named Knight. Mel decided to follow that with his one cat and named her Palace. (Also like Alec wasn't even supposed to have any more pets other than Diana but Ray got him to get the 2 cats so Alec was like, yk what? i'll get a dog too why not).

Anyways, I have an actual question too lol. Aside from Etho, did any other characters activley fight in the war? From what I understand most other characters either had more guardian-like positions, jobs entirely outdide of the battle, or became knights after the war was over, etc. But was anyone other than Etho activley and regularly in the battlefield?

As for your question, there were actually two major conflicts between Wintertide and Coral Crest.

Out of the main cast the only ones who were actively on the battlefield during the first war were Etho and Skizz; and Skizz was a combat medic, which meant that he did very little fighting, if any at all. He would either treat people at the base camp, or he would do first aid directly on the field if the person could not be moved safely. It was actually during his time on the battlefield that he lost his ability to fly after being caught in an explosion while trying to treat someone and losing part of one of his wings.

After 7 years, a truce was made, and the fighting was put on pause. During this time Etho left the army.

8 years later the truce was broken, and war broke out again. By this point Gem had joined the army and was already a knight, and a skilled one at that, so she actually did fight in this one. Scott did as well, and to a lesser extent so did Impulse. Impulse was still mostly stationed within the capital or the castle itself, though. This conflict lasted a much short amount of time than the other had, only 2-3 years compared to the previous 8, so their active combat experience is definitely not as extensive as Etho's, but it is there.

Fighting in the war and showing unmatched leadership/strategic skills, as well as being the one to make the peace negotiations that would eventually create the next truce, was actually what got Gem her royal commander position.

None of the Coral Crest characters we know were ever actively on the battlefield other than Lizzie herself, and she did no fighting. She went onto the battlefield to do peace negotiations towards the ennd and that was it. It was the same for Joel. He is Lizzie's guard, so where she goes, he goes, and he only fights if her life is in danger.

So, I have just upladed Chapter 1 of my 100th fic on A03 since last April.

10 months and I have uploaded 99 completed fics and my latest WIP, with that 368,409 words of mine are now on A03.

I have found 2 very different, but wonderful communities in my Bagginshield and Maruader's fandom spaces.

I got myself an online Wife (love you @brandileigh2003) and we somehow ennded up adopting our 2 adult kiddos (love you two too).

And thats not to mention the countless friends, aquatancies and like minded individuals who have made the last 10 months some of the most accepting I have ever experienced in my 34 years of life.
