Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
I beat the final level on Vampire Survivors after downloading it last night and then looked it up online to see if I had missed any big secrets and found that
1. Everybody is saying don’t bother with Garlic, but using Poe and maxing Garlic is how I cleared a few levels (plus focusing on projectiles)
2. Folks talking about prioritizing upgrades… I found it super easy to earn gold, idk. I unlocked everything? Was I supposed to respec? I never really needed to
3. Apparently most people find it suuuper difficult, but I did not. This was a fun multitasking game to listen to a podcast to once I figured it out, I only failed a few times on the first level before I got the hang of it. I unlocked the yellow page and then looked it up afterward to see what that meant, and the walkthroughs talked about how difficult it might be. Meanwhile I played Poe for that level and just hobbled him all the way to the end of the hallway first try ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The answer to your problems may be to unlock more things, I had bought up almost all the upgrades at that point, including movement speed
Anyway that was $3 well spent, that will be one of my, “my brain doesn’t feel good enough to play a hard game, but I would like some dopamine” fallback games for sure
This is a very very unfinished thought but I've been thinking a lot as I reread the books about how the women of House of the Dragon don't really get catharsis and how that'll likely be worse in S2. Say what you want about asoiaf but a number of named women there experience catharsis.
They kill their abusers (Lysa, Cersei, Dany). They regain some agency after a violation (Lysa, Cersei, Lady Stoneheart, Dany), and they refuse to forgive the people complicit in their subjugation (Lysa, Cersei, Dany, Lady Stoneheart, Jeyne Westerling).
Obviously, three or four isn't enough in such an expansive cast of characters but the point remains that they claw back their autonomy however they have to. They're allowed to be angry, bitter, unforgiving and cruel to their abusers in a way women in House of the Dragon just aren't allowed. They're allowed grief, grief that is violent and destructive.
The women of House of the Dragon don't get angry. They stand around and stare plaintively at the camera, they cry prettily, and they plead for peace and non-violence. They suffer and suffer and suffer and there's no relief.
It’s been a long-held headcanon of mine that the House of Feanor takes their bonds of loyalty, fraternity, and familial piety very, /very/ seriously.
Specifically, I mean that I believe that Feanor impressed upon his sons that they were brothers, real brothers (none of that fake, half-brother charade), which is such a miraculous thing (something their father does not have, we should be grateful), and that they have to take care of each other (because no one else will, see how they are turned against us?)
And that, given that Feanor spent much of the last years of the Trees fighting against what he perceived as his younger brother trying to usurp him, and this was such a great and evil sin that the rumor of it tore apart even Maedhros and Fingon’s friendship (for a time)-
Not a single one of the younger brothers would ever even think of undermining an elder
Seeing people theorise about Magnus’s death in TWP and like. Yeah that makes sense ig? It's the last series, and what better way to force character development than to remove the safety net the characters have in the form of Magnus?
Also Cassie said that TWP will parallel TLH, and one of the points in TLH was that the characters couldn't go to Magnus with their problems as often cause Magnus was closer to the adults and would snitch. And one of the parallels here could be that both gangs can't rely on Magnus as much as the other series could.
Except Magnus is already getting released from the narrative, along with Alec and the rest of the tmi gang. Cassie mentioned they wouldn’t be much present in TWP because they'd be on a mission (presumably TBVOTD) and most likely get stuck in a hell dimension as Lucifer or Shinyun's playthings for a while.
Sooo yeah. I don't think Magnus is gonna die. He's getting Sealed, but he ain't dying
jong woo and dong soo killing the causes of their corruption in an effort to undo the damage but ending up eternally haunted by them instead is just sooooooooo delicious to me corruption arc you will always ALWAYS be god tier
What a wild ride of an episode. I knew we were going to get a fun combat, but damn.
This was a great showcase of how awesome these classes and abilities are when the dice don't fuck you over. So damn cool.
And when Kipperlily showed up... I literally went "what???", had to pause the episode and take my dog out to process. What were you going to do Brennan??? What horrible thing did they prevent with another horrible thing???
I can't wait to listen to the Adventuring Party. I want to know what prompted Ally to use the eye in this moment. And how much Brennan's plans got fucked.
