1 I talked about this with a friend recently, I think Mibuchi has a good, close relationship with their parents! it wasn't easy at first, more specifically with their dad- but love and understanding wins :) I like to think Mibuchi is a very good influence in Akashi's life, especially after winter cup!

2 They like to style their hair in different ways, outside practice/school. Mibuchi is the fashion icon (not a model though. In the trendy wardrobe meaning)

3 Lastly, I believe they play videogames on free time at home :D (good at it, by the way)

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter? Kenichi Okamura, they can support each other 💪 also share plenty of things in common. Personality wise, it could be a good match <3 super chill

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

Not much to say, I have always liked Mibuchi <3 I guess at first I was curious to see how this character would be developed (staring at the homophobic, misogynist author) and it was fine, most of it. I treasure every single appearance they have OTL

Fun fact: when I was in the 5th grade, I was discussing crushes with my male best friend at the time and I mentioned to him that I used to have a crush on him a few years ago. He then confessed the same to me. We never did anything with it because we were too young at the time (imo) and I was head over heels for his bestie, soooo. That was today's episode of Admin Neon talks about herself too much. Admin Neon

Sitting on the park bench, he was acutely aware of how close you were seated next to him. With thighs practically touching, all he would need to do is shift ever so slightly for there to be contact. He stayed still however, not wanting to push the affection he held for you, still hidden from your knowledge. He’d promised himself today would be the day. Today, he would confess. But you’d beaten him to it.

Sort of.

“You know, I used to have a crush on you.” The comment was offhanded, like an afterthought that had been lingering. He picked up on the phrase used to; it made his stomach feel sour. “But you don’t have to worry about that ruining anything. I’m over it already.” You turn to smile at him and he can’t help the way it grips at his heartstrings. “You’re like, my best friend now.”

Kagami: “Oh yeah?” Your somewhat of a confession catches him off guard and completely destroys any confidence Kagami had to confess to you himself. His mind is filled with thoughts on what he could have done for you to lose feelings for him. Maybe you didn’t lose feelings; maybe you were bluffing. But there’s no way to know that without actually talking to you about it. Still, he resolves himself to giving up on his plan for the day, wanting to refocus himself and collect the courage he’d lost so quickly.

Kiyoshi: “Well, isn’t that a coincidence.” He’s smiling at you as he says this. Kiyoshi takes your words as what they are – the perfect opportunity for him to confess himself. He’s quick to explain that he still harbors feelings for you, even if you no longer felt the same, and he’d like for you to give him a chance now that he was ready. Who knows? Maybe he could convince you that you’d been right about your feelings for him all along and there was no need to hold back any longer.

Himuro: The breath that leaves him almost sounds like the beginning of a self-depreciating laugh. He thinks to himself, of course the moment he planned to confess to you, you would drop this bombshell on him. It was just like his life to work out this way. He almost wants to resent your confession, but Himuro can’t stop the creeping feeling of butterflies in his stomach. You used to like him, but it didn’t mean you stopped liking him. Maybe he still had a chance.

Mibuchi: “Would you still want to be more than best friends?” The question comes out of him sounding calm and relaxed, but inside, Mibuchi is far from those two emotions. His heart lurches at the thought you may not like him anymore in the same way he liked you and you can almost see the pained thoughts in his eyes. Your confession hadn’t ruined his opinion of you and he prayed his own confession wouldn’t change your opinion of him either.

Nebuya: There’s a brief moment where he’s stumped by your words, but then slowly, a low chortle leaves him. The chuckle he lets out after your confession nearly has you confused, but Nebuya is quick to explain. “That makes things a lot easier on my end.” He uses your confession as a segue into one of his own. He seems confident as he expresses his feelings for you, almost as if he didn’t mind that you basically confessed to losing feelings for him. Almost as if he was sure he could convince you otherwise.

Hayama: He hadn’t heard that your feelings for him had changed – or he chose to ignore that part of your confession – because Hayama’s face was practically split in half with a large grin. His own confession spills out of him before his mind could even register the words and it’s not until you’re staring back at him slack-jawed that he realizes what he’s done. Suddenly, he’s nervous again, red in the face. “So, uh, do you think you still like me?”

Hanamiya: “So you telling me you don’t like me anymore?” One of his brows is quirked up at the question and he seems to be looking at you with a blank stare, as if he’s expecting your confirmation. A part of him hopes that you’ll fluster, say you hadn’t changed your feelings, make it easier for him to confess. A different part of him wants what you said to be true so he could finally squash away the stupid crush he’s had on your for years.

Nijimura: “What made you change your mind about me?” Despite the fact he had come here to confess his feelings to you, Nijimura needed to know what had changed. He knew there had been a few years where he’d been absent from your life thanks to his own family issues and he knew it would have been unfair to ask you to wait for him. So the continuation of his plan really banked on your answer. He needed to know that the feelings you had for him were repairable before he could continue.

I've got some more chronic Akashi brainrot for y'all...

I had re-watched parts of Last Game not too long and I remember the scene after Team Vorpal Swords won when Riko's dad bought a bunch of snacks and drinks for everyone to celebrate. While eating, Midorima asked Akashi (referring to the haphazard way snacks were spread across the table), "Are you sure you're okay with something so sloppy, Akashi?" And Akashi looked at him and said, "What are you talking about? We used to sit around and celebrate like this in middle school all the time."

It really stuck in my head for a reason I kinda mentioned the other day, when I was talking about Akashi's dynamic with Hayama. I won't explain that entire post, but I was mainly discussing how Hayama is touchy with Akashi but Akashi never minds, and the last sentence of my post regarding that was, "Akashi seems to be very unfazed whenever he's manhandled by his Rakuzan teammates which shows that he was never really that uptight about people touching him to begin with and people just assumed he was". This brings me to the main topic of this post: Akashi Seijuro and the assumptions the KNB cast has about his personality.

As I love to point out on this godforsaken app, Akashi has been done dirty by every adult in his life with the exception of his mother. So much of what went wrong in his 3rd year at Teiko was due to high expectations and the idea that Akashi was not allowed to be anything less than perfect at whatever he did, but at the root of all of this are assumptions.

False assumptions that he was able to handle such a heavy workload. False assumptions that he was ready to be captain in his second year. False assumptions that he was coping with stress well. False assumptions that he wasn't already cracking before he even enrolled in Teiko. He was let down so many times by so many people because people assumed he was okay when he wasn't and hadn't been for YEARS.

And I think it's a big reason as to how and why the rest of the Teiko gang unintentionally isolated Akashi back in middle school. They put Akashi on a pedestal and assumed that there was some sort of invisible barrier between him and the rest of the team. In the same way when, during Last Game, Midorima assumed Akashi would stick his nose up at... eating chips and drinking juice with the homies... everyone has this idea that Akashi is more haughty than he actually is? Akashi isn't haughty at all. In fact, the Replace Plus Chapters highlight the fact that he's the complete opposite. This boy saved a baby in one chapter, and as the mother of the baby profusely thanks him, he says "Anyone could have done that." As if he didn't showcase superhuman reaction time and reflexes by pulling a baby out of a runaway stroller coming down a hill at high speed right before the stroller was obliterated by an oncoming truck. 💀

These assumptions make even less sense when Akashi has already shown people how much he doesn't want to be put on a pedestal. Again, back to the scene in Last Game, Midorima assumed Akashi wouldn't be down for the "sloppy" afterparty, but Akashi had to remind Midorima that they'd already done things like that in middle school. Momoi has cute nicknames for every member of the Teiko gang except Akashi, who she refers to simply as "Akashi-kun". Maybe that was her assuming Akashi would never accept being called by a cute nickname. Never mind the fact that he already was being addressed as "Akashicchi" and "Aka-chin" by Kise and Murasakibara, respectively, and then later was being addressed as "Sei-chan" by Mibuchi. And you can't even argue that she didn't want to make Akashi uncomfortable, because Midorima has outwardly expressed before that he didn't wanna be called "Midorin" but Momoi just kept calling him that.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're shitty friends for doing this. I just think that there was a lack of communication within the Teiko gang, and in an attempt to respect what they assumed were Akashi's boundaries, they unintentionally excluded Akashi from activities that he would absolutely participate in if he had just been given the chance.

This post is long asf so I'll just conclude here, but one of my delusional headcanons for the Teiko gang post-Extra Game is that Akashi becomes more open with them about how he feels and also about wanting to be included in more of their activities, and so he finally gets to experience having a regular hangout with friends like a regular teenager. I just think he deserves that so bad after feeling alone for so many years.

To be honest I love both romantic and platonic AkaMibu so so so much. I dont even care what type of relationship they have they just have to be with eachother for life.

Its 100% in my top 10 Akashi ships purely for the fact that they love each other so much its actually heart warming?? Mibuchi taking one look at Akashi(at Bokushi no less) and said "he is so baby, so cute, so adorable I'm going to call him sei-chan"

I was thinking about why I ship Nebumibu as much as I do.

I like the contrast, I like the dicotomy of it.

I like Reo (ethereal, princess-like Reo) just in love with this enormous gorilla-like monster of a boy. I love the idea of Nebuya being out of his goddamn mind for his Reo, of him writing poems and buying flowers and dressing up for his ballet recitals.

I love Mibuchi just buying meat and protein bars and doing yoga while Eikichi is training next to him.

hyuga for ship tier?

Hyuga ships tier list

Kiyoshi, Riko and Hyuga are just perfect in a polyamory relationship, but if i have to choose between Kiyoshi/Hyuga and Riko/Hyuga, then i think i like him with Riko just a tiny bit more since we have more cute moments between them. But the three of them together is just superior.

His friendship with Izuki is both really funny and cute, they know and trust each other a lot and i love their interactions so i can easily like them as a ship too.

His rivalry with Sakurai and Mibuchi was great, but i wouldn't know how to explain it, despite how much he admires Mibuchi i can ship him with Sakurai but not with Mibuchi.

Day 11 : Favorite Uncrowned King

Mibuchi Reo 👑✨️

No second-guessing or too much thinking was necessary here. I needed one second to decide who I am going to write about here.

Now, what do you mean an Uncrowned King? When I look at Reo, I see a King proudly wearing his crown! He really doesn't care about what anybody thinks of him, he knows he is awesome, unique, beautiful, a skilled player, and loves and respects himself! One thing I really admire him for doing in the 2010s Japan is expressing himself, more specifically embracing his femininity. Those times didn't really offer a lot of space or support for people who were different, but there he was, confidently being himself, pursuing his own happiness within himself by finding out what style and feel he was comfortable with, even though a lot of people considered him a 'weirdo'!

Finding his character was a big thing for me for a couple of reasons. I was always afraid of being seen as a 'weirdo' as a kid, and his character inspired me to be myself and not care about what others think of me. He also introduced me to the LGBTQ+ community! When I was younger, people with sexualities different than straight or genders out of the binary system were something I never heard of, so finding him opened really important doors to me, and my view of people and the world changed. I didn't know what homophobia was, but seeing the way some people treated Reo automatically made me an ally and a person who wants to fight for queer people and their rights.

Speaking of the way he was treated... He seriously deserved so much better. The show and the manga treated him horribly. It is obvious that the creator isn't a fan of queer people, but making his characters, especially Hyūga Jūnpei, who he claims is most like him, treat him that way and never having anyone stand up to protect Reo, just made him, the characters and the show look bad. Still, I am grateful that Reo at least has teammates who don't pick on him for being part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Now, I have to ramble about his personality and other qualities a bit. What makes him one of my favorite characters and my favorite Uncrowned King is his play style. Reo never felt boring on the court, and watching him always had me at the edge of my seat. Seriously, I think he is so clever, and his shooting forms are just genius. Also, the way he is so elegant and graceful, yet so explosive and percise... I am in love. His personality just adds more to my love for him. He often appears to be rather uptight, having the need to keep everything and everyone in check, but when he relaxes, he is sweetness itself. He is gentle, thoughtful and kind. He acts like a mother to his teammates, and has an obvious soft spot for Seijūrō! When I saw the end card where he made sweets for Sei-Chan, I just melted! Not only that, but when I listened to a special CD, and heard him talk about how he feels about Rakuzan's loss at WinterCup, I felt really bad for him. He really blamed himself for the loss, he even said he wasn't able to sleep at night because he instinctively jumped to block the ball and bumped into Jūnpei. Only after he was repeatedly told he didn't have to worry about because it's not his fault, he felt at ease. Well, that proved just how much he cares and how deep of a feeler and thinker he is.

I love Reo a lot. He seriously deserves the world, and if I could, I would give it to him. Everything the best for Reo-Nee!✨️

Kiyoshi — childhood friends to lovers

it's the type of friendship where, even when Kiyoshi was in diapers, his grandparents were saying he would be marrying that friend one day

which makes it so much more dramatic when he ends up dating (and breaking up with) Riko in high school, because everyone thought they knew who Kiyoshi liked

when he eventually does get together with his childhood friend, their relationship gives off the vibes that nothing has changed between them at all (except they kiss and stuff now)

Mibuchi — pretty popular boy and disinterested reader

due to his position on the basketball team and his overall good looks in general, Mibuchi was always orbited by a crowd who wanted nothing but to please him; he didn't necessarily like people fawning over him however

sincehe's not actually into all the praise he gets, he finds himself gravitating more toward people who don't seem to want to give him the time of day

this includes the cute classmatwho just shoulder checked him without so much as a sorry

Nebuya — strong guy saving the damsel

he wasn't looking for love when he saved the pedestrian from walking into oncoming traffic; he hadn't even realized they were his age when he grabbed onto their shoulder

Nebuya isn't actually ecstatic when the person he saved ends up falling for him and, unlike traditional shojo, will try to rationalize with the person

they're determined however and he eventually ends up falling for them as well; he like a persistant person who works for what they want

Hayama — opposites attract

Hayama has a bright and loud personality, which is why he needs a calmer partner to balance him out. he didn't expect to fall for the quiet, reserved person in his class; it just happened

the beginning of the relationship is full of him trying to pull his partner out of their shell faster than they're comfortable with

he's going to learn a lot about different types of personalities and that it's okay to not be as outgoing as he is; sometimes it's good to just sit back and smell the roses

Mayuzumi — enemies to lovers

there weren't many people in his life that Mayuzumi let get close to him; in fact, the amount of people on his bad side was a much longer list

he's the type to constantly complain about the same person annoying him every single day, but the moment that person is gone, he's looking for them

it takes him a long time to redefine what he feels for that person as love instead of intense hatred

Hanamiya — slow burn fake dating

I personally don't see Hanamiya as the type to actively go looking for love, but when his mom eventually starts asking him when he's going to start dating? well, he might just go out and find someone stupid enough to fake it with him

it's toxic and he actually doesn't try very hard to please his partner, but somewhere along the way he finds himself relying on them more

he's not going to admit he's in love until way after the break up, but depending on where he is in his growth, he may or may not ask for a second chance

Nijimura — rekindled love

Nijimura dropped a lot of things he loved when his father became sick, including his lover. it was toxic, there was a lot of crying and yelling

it's not until years later when they reunite that those feelings crop back up again

the relationship is slow, tender in the way that small issues could break it again if they're not careful, but he's willing to double down in order to make it work

Specifically the girls!

Because I just reblogged a post about how unappreciated female characters can be, and it made me mad. The second I started writing my massive KnB fic I was like oh lord does this story need more significant female characters. And my story is slice of life and about so much more than basketball, so there's no excuse for the lack of girls like "unfortunately that's just how it is" like Fujimaki said or something.

I'm not undermining the fact that Riko and Momoi especially are great characters, and I'm so happy for their existence, I'm just pointing out how obvious it was to me that as a fic writer I could do so much more! And that if I had found myself for some reason creating only male OCs for this project, the only reason I could think of for why that would happen is misogyny. (Not that the gender diversity in my fic is limited to male and female, I'm just trying to simplify things for the sake of an argument.)

Now that I'm thinking about this in the light of that other post that pointed out how people make excuses for why they don't have any favourite female characters or even female OCs, it occurred to me that had those people been writing this love story between the two main guys they probably would have used that as an excuse? Like, oh well, this story is just basically about them, so it's what it is. I mean, my story is about KagaKuro. Like 90%.

Somehow, that wasn't an issue.

Sorry for the rant. I'll introduce you to some of my girls now, whose pictures I've posted before, but I'll tell a little bit more about them this time.

Meet Mitsuhara Tomie! She came along early, and isn't getting out of this. She's a theatre nerd, a playwright, and an actress whose drama club causes fun times for Seirin's basketball club too. Her life collided with our main characters' because her friend had a crush on Kagami and was using Tomie as a reluctant messenger. Pretty obviously, no romance bloomed between her friend and Kagami, but as a side effect, Tomie became friends with Kuroko. She's gay, she's very intense and kinda socially anxious, she has very distinct life philosophies, and she has described herself as "the ball of hair the Cheshire Cat pukes". She's short, pear-shaped, very flexible and loves her big glasses. At one point, Kuroko describes her style of discussing controversial topics in her plays to be as subtle as Kagami's Meteor Jam, to which Kagami says it must be really to the point, then.

The reason she came into existence was because I felt like it would be nice if Kuroko had a friend who gets stories on a deep level, a non-basketball friend for a change, and especially a female friend who isn't forcing herself on him from left and right. Pretty soon Tomie bloomed into a character I would not know how to tell this story without anymore.

Next we have Kirigaya Azumi who is a joint effort between me and my ex. She is Rakuzan's manager during our main characters' second year, so she isn't very frequently involved in my main story, as she's much more significant to my still in-progress and unpublished Akashi centric fic. Momoi describes Azumi from her notes as follows:

"Kirigaya Azumi, age 17, height 166 cm, used to play small forward in middle school. Also has a background in traditional and street dance, plays the piano and koto, and is apparently an unbeatable archer. She lives at her family shrine, and is supposed to be the successor, which explains some of her wide repertoire of skills. She believes things are interesting as long as you haven’t achieved your personal best. Old money from her father’s side, new money from her mother’s. Her brother is a professional basketball player in the US. She secretly dyes her hair with a hint of reddish purple, and gets away with it, because everyone believes it to be natural. She’s childhood friends with Mibuchi Reo. I assume that’s related to how she became the manager, although I haven’t got the details on that, and there’s a gap in my knowledge of her motives too. She’s not the usual manager type."

Basically, the idea behind Azumi's character was a big fuck you to people who call female characters Mary Sues for simply being on par with a male character. So, in this world of ridiculous guys we needed more ridiculous girls, and especially on the occasion that one might turn out to catch Akashi's interest in several ways, she would have to be in his league. We had seen so many takes on Akashi's OC girlfriend who was shy or poor or otherwise exactly the type of character to buy into the whole "school prince" narrative, which obviously isn't wrong, but we didn't want that. We wanted someone who could be an obvious power couple with him. We felt he needed someone who would not trigger him into feeling like he needs to control things and take care of everything. We didn't feel like Akashi actually fits into the trope of "soft girl makes cold boy open up" because Akashi isn't really like that. We felt he needed someone more traditionally strong and independent, someone who can make him relax. Azumi has her own issues of course, but she's chill, confident and in the "feline club" so other characters tend to perceive her as someone not to be messed with.

Sato Mika is Seirin's manager during the main characters' third year, when Riko is in university but has still decided to go on as Seirin's coach, and she can no longer deny the need of a couple of extra hands. Thankfully, Mika is also someone to match her brain and becomes practically an assistant coach. She has a photographic memory, which turns out to be particularly handy in helping people develop faster because she can always point out the smallest differences in people's forms and movements off the top of her head. She is one half of Sato twins and her brother also joins the team. They are also both Finnish-Japanese and have lived most of their lives in Finland because my brain needed some Finns. They are both third years who transferred to Seirin because of some problems in their old school.

So, I’m the new manager, though it seems we’re still kinda working on my job description. My unnecessarily long nickname as a kid was “picture encyclopaedia”, but I’d totally prefer to be conceptualized as a search engine because I’m SO much faster than some physical book. Okay, I’ll stop before Aki says I’m bragging. Anyway, I’m not totally clueless about basketball, because I grew up with him, obviously. Hmm. So, we came from the dark cold north, and I think the best thing about Japan so far is the rice. I really love rice and it's so much better here. What else? I like Marvel and Nightwish.

So, nice to meet you. Please, ask me anything, and my brain will come up with a selection of visuals related to that thing.

Mika is very introspective, fun-loving and has some issues with a fear of commitment, but what better place to work on that, than Seirin, right?

I have more female OCs, but these three are the most significant ones so far, except for Kuroko's grandmother who is an OC for all intents and purposes, because she isn't actually a character in canon. I haven't drawn her because the task seems very daunting. She is too much to capture with my drawing skills and there are still, even after writing a million word fic, so many things even I don't know about her.

Here are a couple of characters' opinions of her.

Momoi:

She seems to embody something ancient for me. Like she’s an old, good witch of a sort. Someone who knows all the secrets of womanhood, because how else could she look like that? How else could she look so at ease with herself?

Kagami:

She smiles that all-knowing, all-powerful, “you puny human are lucky I’m nice” kind of smile at me, so what the hell am I supposed to say?

Headcanons for Akashi laughing 🤭

Back with another headcanon post. Hooray for chronic Akashi brainrot! Lemme make this quick so I can go to bed.

As we all know, for most of the manga/anime, Akashi is someone who is portrayed as a serious, analytical, and (depending on which personality is in control) cold person. But he wasn't/isn't always like that as we've come to realize. Let me explore his character chronologically through the canon material before I get into my headcanons so we can establish some things about his personality.

When he was a child, he was seen to be much more of a smiley person because while his mother was still alive she allowed him to just be a kid. So I'm sure he had plenty to smile about before her passing.

After that, Akashi enrolls in Teiko, and at age 13 he still smiles, but they're smaller and he seems more mild-mannered and reserved compared to when he was younger. However, that doesn't mean his smiles aren't genuine. He still had happy moments in Teiko up until his second year, and he enjoyed hanging out with the rest of the GoM + Kuroko and Momoi. But we still never really saw him laugh. I'm sure he did during those times, but it was never anything that was shown explicitly.

After he switched personalities, he was barely smiling at all. Bro was miserable. He would smile every once in a while but in more of an unhinged way if that makes sense. Maybe he chuckled once when he met Mayuzumi. If you can even call it a chuckle. It was more like he puffed out a breath of air. And again, it was in more of an unhinged way. I remember in one of the Replace novels, Mibuchi made an observation that before Akashi switched back to his true self, he could never tell if his smile was genuine or if he was simply using it as a tool to get others to let their guard down. This is what I mean by "unhinged".

But post-Winter Cup? Akashi is nothing but smiley and I love that for him. Obviously, it's still slightly toned down, but it's a much better improvement from both his first year at Rakuzan AND his entire Teiko run. He seems to have just finally given up on facades and allowed himself to be more open with how he feels, which has canonically led to his teammates seeing sides of Akashi they'd never seen before.

In the post-Winter Cup content, I've seen him chuckle a lot more, and his voice when he chuckles is the most precious thing ever and I wish I could hear more of it. But that takes care of the canon, so let's get into my headcanons, shall we?

First of all, what makes Akashi laugh? Well, from the canon, we've seen that most of the time, it's when he's watching his teammates' antics and chuckles in amusement. But if you really want to make him laugh, I feel like, similar to my headcanons on how to startle Akashi, you'd have to catch him off guard. Like, you'd have to say or do something so ridiculous and left-field that it catches Akashi off guard and makes him laugh out of the sheer unexpectedness of it all.

So, how would Akashi look when he laughs? It would depend on how hard he's laughing. If it's one of those cute lil chuckles he does, he has this small smile on his face and his eyes sparkle with fondness. But if you're lucky enough to get an unrestrained laugh out of Akashi, chances are either his head is tilted back or his shoulders are hunched as he's bent over trying to catch his breath. He's probably not even looking at you either because when he laughs like that his eyes can't help but close. And his face crinkles in the most precious way.

How does he sound when he laughs? For small chuckles, we already have examples of this in canon; refer to the KNB drama CD season 3 volume 9 if you need a reference. But if he were to laugh really hard? Well, first of all, he pegs me as the type of person who would at first try and hold himself together before failing miserably.

I'm not sure if this counts as canon or not, but I remember a KNB video game where there was a scene where the GoM was reminiscing on some couple's costume event they were dragged into participating in back in Teiko, and Akashi had mentioned that when he saw Aomine in a dress and Midorima in a woman's kimono, he literally had to stop looking at them to keep from bursting into laughter.

Going off of that, if Akashi was caught off guard and found something really funny, he'd probably be like "PFFFT" before catching himself and trying to hide his growing smile behind his hand. But then it gets too hard to hold in his laugh so he gives up and just laughs wholeheartedly. The more funny something is, the harder it is to hold back, so if he's laughing really hard, you will absolutely hear it. He's not a super loud laugher like Kise or even Takao, but if he's laughing hard he's definitely not quiet about it. His voice sounds very melodic while he's laughing, too. He probably got that from his mom. 🥹

How do people react to him laughing? GoM + Momoi are more accustomed to seeing him happy/smiley, so when he laughs, they're more endeared by it, if anything, because it reminds them that Akashi is back to his old self. But his Rakuzan team (more specifically, the Uncrowned Kings) is still getting used to Akashi's true self and is figuring things out about him every day. So I would think that post-Winter Cup is when they hear Akashi properly laugh for the first time and all of them come to a nonverbal agreement that they must protect Akashi's smile at all costs. They also take note of things that Akashi finds amusing just for the sole purpose of using them to make him laugh again and see that adorable laughing face of his.

As time goes on and Akashi becomes more open, it's less and less difficult to get him to laugh, and he expresses himself much more freely compared to before. Happiness is a good look on him and his friends hope that he continues to stay this happy for a long time.

As I mentioned a little in my latest chapter (Yachi’s birthday chapter), I am not going to start Season 3 Shiratorizawa vs Karasuno until after I finish the birthdays that I skipped over. I thought I’d be done by now, but I can’t believe I hadn’t had the time to do them all. (Who knew these birthday chapters would be so time-consuming? I usually write an episode chapter in like 2-3 days!)

Furthermore, I will not announce a new date for the start of Season 3 at this time. (I don’t want to get your hopes up and disappoint you all again 😔 )

However, for those of you who love this story as much as I do and want to read more, please know that I am still working on this book and am writing more!! I have so many ideas — as I’m sure you’re sick of hearing already lol — for future chapters and editing past chapters!!

As proof, I think I’ll post some sneak peeks of scenes and chapters I have not published yet here on Tumblr to show that I have not given up on continuing this! These will be for people who don’t mind reading my rough drafts (aka not final versions of the chapters) and who are okay with knowing spoilers for this story.

i hc them as quite reserved. although it’s canon that they’re very popular among their classmates and i think they probably have loads of friends, i believe they’re only close to few people. that’s not to say they aren’t super outgoing - they just find it difficult to find people they can truly open up to
