Unpopular opinion: tyrelliot didnt happen because Mr. Robot was always about Elliot working through his trauma, and not about him finding ~romance~ or whatever 😶👀

LOL, and yet somehow the show has had romance subplots since the beginning, including with Elliot. With him being in love with Angela. Marrying her in his dream. With him sleeping with Shayla and then starting to care about her and ask her to go on a date with him. With him kissing Angela in season 2. With him hooking up with that girl in season 4.

Not to mention how about all of the characters had love interests or relationships. Angela with her boyfriend, Elliot I guess, and from her perspective Price when she didn’t know the truth (Sam has gone to confirm that the initial idea was to actually have him be sexually atracted to her, but then they realized being her father worked better lol). Darlene with her boyfriend and Dom. And Dom with Darlene, since she was also a main character with lots of scenes being from her POV. Tyrell with Joanna and her with him(same point as Dom). They even gave Gideon a boyfriend that seemed to be good for him until they decided he left him because they decided to kill of Gideon. Whiterose had a damn lover too.

Honestly, since the pilot or whenever they first showed him with Shayla it was always kinda funny to me that a socially awkward character with huge social anxiety that hated being around people was actively fucking like it wasn’t a big deal. They even frame him as kinda badass for doing so, with that shot of him smoking in bed.

And honestly, rewatching the show from the beginning, it’s straight-up ridiculous how they immediately set up, not one, but THREE women as being involved with asshole/douchey/straight-up abuser men for Elliot to comment on how shitty they are. First Angela, then Krista, then Shayla. Like seriously, it’s literally this fucking meme:

And then there is one scene that specifically makes me side-eye, SO, SO much. The damn Shayla/Angela kiss. It’s a random moment. That happens quite suddenly and doesn’t quite lead to anything. Angela’s sexuality is never addressed. She’s a main character for 3 seasons with some of the most screentimes and the idea that she might be attracted to women never comes up outside of that scene. It doesn’t come up with Shayla either, because she gets fridged. Should they be considered LGBT characters? I’m sure most people on tumblr would argue yes. Because in a generalized sense, pepple here and on twitter care more about finding comfort in headcanons than thinking about actual representation. But I don’t see anyone considering them as queer in outside circles.

Everything about that scene and the way it’s just, like, a thing that happened, and goes for a weirldy long time IIRC, reeks of eother weird fetishizing “let’s have some girl on girl action”, or dumb lowkey homophobic “just gals being pals women kissing their friends and stuff...”, maybe even both.

So, I really can’t wrap my head around the fact that that happened but Tyrelliot couldn’t get a kiss. Tyrell’s entire character after season 1 revolved around Elliot. He had a much bigger connection with him than Angela and Shayla had with each other. He was obsessed with him, literally loved him and was in love with him. Sam actually confirmed that, he said, with every word, that “First of all, yes, Tyrell is in love with Elliot”. And for that at least I applaud him, honestly.

I could go on about how they ruined Tyrell’s character arc and just straight up wasted his character because they didn’t know what the fuck to do with him after season 1 and were just making it up as they went along, and if it wasn’t for that, 404 wouldn’t even happen at all, but, since it did... I mean, it happened as a fucking farewell to Tyrell. Because he had no place in the plot anymore and they needed to get rid of him. So they made a cute little episode for him to die on. Now tell me, why couldn’t we have gotten a kiss?

“Because it wouldn’t be reciprocate!/Elliot wouldn’t kiss him back!” Yeah.How rich that this didn’t stop an Angelliot kiss where Elliot went to one-sidedly kiss Angela and she didn’t push him off but didn’t full-on kiss him back either, but rather just kinda let him and went with it to an extent.

A Tyrelliot kiss in 404 could have gone the exact same way. Can you explain why it didn’t, outside of “Because they didn’t want to do that”? Which, sure. They’re not obligated to write what they don’t want. And I’m not obligated to like it and to not comment on it.

And no, I’m not saying a kiss on 404 would have REALLY made me happy and it was all I ever wanted and I would love Sam for it. Like I made clear with this post, I have many many many criticisms of how he treated Tyrell, and romance in the show in general, and LGBT representation (which I didn’t went very in-depth so to make clear where I stand: Domlene was the only thing done right). So I would never be actually satisfied. But the fact that he really didn’t want to do even the “bare minimum” of possibilities, one that would only establish Elliot as being queer to the same level that the Angela/Shayla kiss established them as such or LESS, speaks volumes to me. 

(God, this post is messy as hell, but I have a LOT, a LOT of feelings about all the involved subjects here LOL).

renjun and aria room together while she’s promoting with dream

they were so awkward around each other at the beginning :(

aria is his princess and everyone else can fight him

like they’re both doyoung’s children, but if it comes down to it he will lay down his life for her

czennies thought he was in love with her for the entirety of nct 2018 promotions

this boy was hanging off of her at any given second, and there was an edited video of jeno “glaring” at lucas’ back when the taller boy walked away after hugging aria

he drags her to the gym 

he’s basically her big brother? but they’re the same age - its a weird dynamic but they make it work

they’re so LOUD together

not chaotic, but he makes her laugh so hard

she calls him “the demon child i can’t get rid of” but will, and has definitely pouted when he ignored her for too long

generally aria is a pretty soft spoken person, but not with hyuck around - he brings out all her chaos energy (please pray for the patience of dotae)

the pair have a little tradition of kissing the back of each others’ hands before going on stage for good luck. they can’t even remember how it started, but now its an unnegotiable pre-show ritual

he’s so clingy with her absolutely everywhere its painfully adorable  (ಥ﹏ಥ)

interviews? hyuck has a hand on her knee, or if she’s wearing a skirt he’s tucked his hand in between their chairs so she can hold it discreetly. in the dorms? full body tackle onto the couch, where he proceeds to lay on top of her completely.

SO. you may have seen a lot of art i’ve made of the core four/yj in general that were based on memes. i have a whole planned fic i am GOING to write someday that essentially connects & gives context to the situations around creating those memes and pretty much is just a social media au crack thing but treated kinda seriously and is set relatively canon compliant at the start. basic premise being young justice makes an instagram account just for general PR stuff once they have reunited and it goes off the shits. but yes so the headcanon here would be: wanting to explore the inherent chaos of making an instagram account for your teen superhero team and all the possible ways it could go both so right and so wrong

C (heart-crushing): 

ok so i kinda talked about tim’s side of this a little bit already in my last post like this, but in general this is less of a headcanon but more just... i think when you actually think about the stuff these four went through that pulled them apart and how they managed to come back together only to get then pulled apart again by the reboot and now having reunited in yj 2019, (JUST FOR KON TO BE GETTING SEPERATED A G A I N but im ignoring that part for this rn) and how that would impact each of them, theres just a lot of angst there.

mostly gonna focus on the current current here but god Bart and Kon both coming into this new world that they don’t know how many people actually remember them, with Tim and Cassie managing to be there and having some memories and being some of the few people who can be a familiar comfort... except it’s not all there. i talk about it a lot but that one scene in yj 2019 where Tim isn’t sure if his memories of him, kon, and bart’s sleepovers in mount justice are real or just a dream... that hurts! there’s likely a lot of stuff like that in the time before death metal when the only force giving back memories for him is some brain magic from Zatanna. the four of them managing to come back to each other despite all the odds but having pieces of it just not quite the same because of how the world was tampered with... that hurts me so bad and i wish we could have gotten that explored more 

D (canon is a coward and won’t):

King & Queen. – Bakugou Katsuki x F!Reader.

Summary: Fluff, Baku being extra while confessing, social media shenanigans.

It's 4 AM, I'm a mess but I needed to get this off my chest. I'm testing the waters with my writings, it's been forever since I wrote anything and I wanted to throw myself a little bit into the fandom I've been obsessed with for the past months. I do hope you enjoy it. ♥

Bakugou Katsuki took pride in having such a large following online. Ever since the first year UA Sports Festival, both his Twitter and Instagram accounts got thousands and thousands of followers, mostly crushing over him and others just hating on him, and in both ways he loved the attention.

The Aesthetics™ he had were always on point and his Twitter was just filled with one sentence tweets, re-tweets of famous heroes, a somewhat dry, dark and/or sarcastic meme from time to time, only and only if it fit (again) his aesthetics. Sometimes he'd engage with the Bakusquad, specially Kaminari and Mina, both very active users, and [Y/N], answering to her tweets with a one word roast and little more.

After the second year UA Sports Festival though? His social media reached the 100k mark, skyrocketing into a small celebrity as he won the first place for two years in a row. But what made him reach such a large number was the way he won. Their battle for the first place was insane, such a difference compared to what he had to deal with Todoroki in the past. [Y/N] put an amazing fight, there's no doubt to that, but the woman overused her quirk and he knew her weakness, mostly since he sometimes (rarely, almost never, pft) observed her train with Icy-Hot or Deku. It was a spectacle to watch and it has even been televised for a whole week afterwards, critics applauding how promising UA's students were. And that's how it all started.

The shipping.

Images and even fucking edited music videos of their fight were everywhere. It was so obvious both of them enjoyed the fight, the little grins they shared as they attacked each other, the small comments both threw and the camera and mics everywhere picked, the look Bakugou Katsuki gave [Y/N] when she kicked his ass. Such an adoration, followed by his insane grin, ready for a challenge. The look [Y/N] gave him, as he took the first place medal with pride from Endeavor, thriving at the applauses from the public. Stars were put to shame compared to the sparks in her eyes. Oh, and the moment their orbs made contact exactly after that? The chemistry.

Bakuy/n was one of their names online, apart from variations of their hero names mixed together. The fandom was slowly picking up a name, mostly going with the first mentioned. And Katsuki? He was fucking aware of everything. Her social media was on radio silence, but this event made him think. Actually think, not half-ass an idea and just throw himself head on into it. And the conversation he overheard was just making him plot now.

Mina and [Y/N] were actually discussing this exact topic. The pink girl was thriving for it. Her Twitter account was now filled with subliminal messages about love and it made her poor friend anxious. Basically because this issue hasn't been addressed at all with Bakugou and she planned to keep it that way. Yet Mina, sweet, adorable, loving Mina was just pressing on it really badly, but thankfully she never did when both sides of Bakuy/n were in the same room/conversation.

"Isn't it like so romantic?" Mina's eyes shined, hands clapped, her gaze looking somewhere in the distance, daydreaming.

"No, it's not, it's weird..." her [h/c] haired friend answered, falling more into the couch of their living quarters, trying to hide from the world.

"It would be if it wasn't obvious you pin for each other!"

"Oh, god, please stop saying that."

"You're not denying it though!"

"MINA!"

Laughter coming from the pinkette filled the room as the blond man decided not to interrupt and leave, small grin on his face as [Y/N]'s groans just told him what he needed to hear. She definitely did not deny the attraction and whatever chemistry they had.

Which leads to the current situation.

The girl was sitting in the cafeteria, waiting for Ochaco and Mina to come around, phone in hand as she scrolled mindlessly through Twitter, watching as her most recent tweet, the first one in ages, was getting attention. She giggled at Denki's stupidity, as he just posted a selfie of himself drenched in Diet Coke clearly in the UA bathrooms. Checking his replies she saw the boy she's been [kinda, lowkey, just a lil bit] trying to avoid for the past days.

"Dumbass."

"So THAT'S WHY U NEEDED MINTS!?!!!!!?? 🤣

She giggled again, entertained by her friends when her interactions just exploded. App actually crashed as she blinked while munching on some french fries dumbly.

As she tried to open her app again, both her friends landed by the table, joking about Kaminari and his never ending stupidity. Notifications popped again and again, legit confusing the girl to no end, making her ignore her two friends as they asked her what was going on, mainly because of her expression.

"The hell...?" she muttered, throwing the phone down while Twitter took its sweet, sweet time to load and open and just as she opened her mouth to answer Mina, she made eye contact with some very intense red eyes.

Clasping her mouth shut and ignoring Ochaco as she took [Y/N]'s phone to see what's going on, the girl could only focus on Bakugou, sitting a few tables away, facing her direction. She almost shivered in place under the intensity he was giving away, although his position was laid back, phone in one hand, chin in the other. And, again, gaze on her. He barely even blinked, his neutral expression giving nothing away and she knew she was blushing. Why was she a blushing mess under his gaze? Well, answer was obvious for everyone, even the whole internet now, but oh, she wished Bakugou Katsuki wasn't that sharp. Who are we kidding though?

Ochaco started to shake her out of her daze, interrupting the intense eye contact battle as she shoved her phone in her face.

"Oh. My. God." She muttered, stuttering her following words "Please, look at this, I can't believe it... Mina, check Twitter."

"If Kaminari threw Diet Coke and Mints in one of the bathroom toilets to 'experiment', I'm done with him." Mina responded but froze in place, just as [Y/N] looked away from the explosive boy. "Wait... WAIT!" her eyes almost popped out of her skull. "WHAAAAAAA–?!"

On the screen of her phone was the profile of the guy she's been crushing for... A year now? The guy that at first ignored her, then screamed at her, then beat her ass in training, then got his ass beaten by her, that scoffed at her shitty jokes, that actually chuckled at her shitty jokes, that studied with her, that smiled at her... The guy that complimented her when her quick improved. The guy that took her opinion seriously even when acting like he didn't care. The guy that stole her heart when he showed little glimpses of his complex persona only to her. The guy that fucking retweeted:

And a picture attached, them shaking hands after their battle, ready to go get prepared for the podium. Bloodied, sweaty, yet both smiling at each other.

"I can't believe this–[Y/N]–" The brunette started rambling and fangirling besides her, but... With a careful glance, she peeked under her eyelashes to look at the boy again, her heart almost stopping when noticing he was still observing, small grin on his face hidden behind his hand, perfectly angled for her to see. "There's another one!"

Everything started to make sense, as she quickly checked her notifications to see the Internet™ just going crazy over that retweet. People started mass-following her, fans and stans just living for it, tagging her username with a screenshot of the retweet and now it hyped up again with... pictures of his profile? Did he change his description? He... changed his description. While there was absolutely nothing in there, now there was one single word. King.

Her eyebrows just rose so high her forehead hurt, the 3 braincells that were still somehow functioning were catching up to what the hell was going on and now she was positive, 100%, without a doubt that she was blushing like a mad-woman, a smile forming on her lips as she hit the retweet button on the same tweet he did and instantly opening her profile to edit.

Both her friends were freaking out by her side, accusing her of being way too calm in this situation, to explain but [Y/N] knew she couldn't utter any word, or even look up at them or at him. If she did, she'd break the spell, the moment, and as she deleted her description and only wrote a single word in her profile, her smile only widened. Hearing Mina screech after seeing her retweet, the girl giggled like an idiot.

Bakugou Katsuki was loud, brash, maybe a little bit emotionally constipated, rough around the edges, incredibly smart, observing, caring, awful with words but straight to the point with actions. And he was, without a doubt, fucking extra when doing things.

As she pressed the button Save on her profile, she caught him looking at his phone, being patted on the back by Kirishima, that somehow appeared in the frame yet was so distant in her field of vision as only he mattered at the moment. Waiting his reaction patiently and waiting for the internet to start freaking out again, her chest was hurting from the drumming of her heart. Hell, she knew she looked like a disaster with a flushed face, phone gripped so hard in her hand that it could break, a group of girls forming around her, noisy yet so distant. The world going in slow motion, seeing his crimson eyes widen for a fraction of a second, hiding more of his face in the palm of his hand as he still tried to look so casual, Kirishima's "Yeaaaaaaaah!" filled her ears as he tapped his finger on the screen, destination already clear. And when he saw what he needed...

He got up, leaving his tray of food behind, shit-eating grin basically parting the sea of people forming around them both as he marched towards where she was seated, and for the third time they made eye contact. His cheeks flushed, such a boyish expression coveting his normally angry features, mischievous and happy, relieved, just... Perfect.

Everything went in slow motion for her, his march, decisive and bold, as he always was, took to an end as he got to her, just giving her a hand and a raised brow, inviting her to leave with him anywhere but there.

And she took it without hesitation.

For the character breakdown meme - Scar from FMA?

I guess I forgot to specify that I answer non-FFXIV characters in my other blog @averysleepyfrog, so I'll answer this here. Also, these answers are going to be about the Mangahood version of his character, because I still haven't seen FMA2003, so I can't form a concrete opinion on that version as of now.

How I feel about this character

He actually is right now one of my faves as of now, along with the Roy-Riza duo. I really liked his character development, and how he was allowed to grow instead of dying as punishment/ heroic sacrifice, as a lot of writers like to do to characters who either have too much blood on their hands, are too traumatized or both. He is allowed to live, learn and grow, and I appreciate it.

I also mentioned at one point on Twitter that his character initially reminded me of Ilberd backstory-wise. It's actually interesting for me to think about because I feel like FMAB!Scar illustrates what Ilberd could have been if he didn't die/ made different choices at one point or another. Gives me some AU thoughts.

I am also lowkey looking respectfully, but that is a different conversation altogether.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

I admit this is not something I have actively thought about in the context of his character. I've seen a few people ship him with Miles, and I guess it's nice, but I don't think I actively went "I ship" about anyone with him when I watched Brotherhood. So... While I don't think I actively ship anyone with him, I am open to the idea of ships featuring him/ him starting a relationship some time post-canon.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I really liked parent/child-like dynamic with Mei/May (somebody tell me how is her name spelled in English). I just love the duos that consist of a gruff, serious, dark character with a bubbly, optimistic one, how they both eventually come to care for each other and how they help each other out.

I also like the exchanges he has with Winry. I feel like these are pretty important towards both of their characters, with her realizing that the person she's been considering a complete monster is hurt and angry at the surrounding circumstances just like she is, and him seeing yet another grim reminder of how many people have been broken by the Ishvalan War, and how even unintentionally people may sometimes get in the crossfire. I also find it interesting that he doesn't try to justify his actions in front of her and outright says that there is no way he can justify himself because he regretted killing Winry's parents all along.

My unpopular opinion about this character

Hooo... I guess I am going to say something a lot of people are going to disagree on.

First, I do not think his arc is about him forgiving his oppressors. If anything, I think that setting aside one's grudges despite being unable to completely forgive to work for something better is a running theme in both his and Winry's story. Not acting on certain emotions does not always equate forgiveness, but forgiveness is not always the end of it. And both Scar and Winry (and also Roy, to a smaller extent) realize that they don't need to pursue revenge and hurt more people in the process when instead they can focus on repairing what is broken and move forward. So I think that Scar's arc is about learning to move forward rather than forgiveness.

Second, I think that his initial pursuit of justice in the name of Ishvala being a rationalization of his own pain and desire for vengeance is actually a pretty realistic and understandable reaction, and doesn't portray him in a bad light at all.

People do not always act rationally, especially when they are traumatized. And sometimes, they will try to rationalize acting on their feelings both for the world and themselves, perhaps as a way to cope. Scar has suffered through a lot and has justifiable reasons to be angry at the world and the people who hurt him, and as a result he goes down that road. He eventually comes to realize that this was what it was, and what I feel is interesting is that the narrative doesn't seem to try to punish him or judge him for it after he acknowledges that. It's nice to see media portray this kind of mental state without judging it or condemning it, because it actually is a pretty human thing to do.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I feel like this is one of the rare case when I am pretty much content with the canon the way it went? Then again, I am generally happy with how most of Brotherhood went. But if I have to pick... I guess more Scar-centric scenes to show his thought process and how he feels about the things going around him. He is forced to work with people that he has all the reasons to hate in the latter half of the anime, and I feel like it would be interesting to get more insight on his perspective and his feelings regarding it, though this may be difficult to translate to screen. I wonder if the manga has more of that...

After doing the last social media post thing, I’ve just gotten a shit ton of modern Stand By Me characters Headcanons in how they’d tackle social media being teens in 2020, so here they are:

STAND BY ME AS GEN Z HEADCANONS

- Chris Chambers & Gordie Lachance are aesthetic bitches, Chris doesn’t try to be, Gordie does

- Teddy has a meme page. This is not up to debate. He SOO has a meme page. His entire personal ig is a meme. He also has a Twitter account where he posts questionable things, a reddit account, and yes he’s been on 4-Chan

- Chris would get TikTok famous for no reason because he’s cute.

- Gordie would be a FanFiction Writer. He’s a damn Wolfstar shipper, and is convinced Sirius and Lupin had a thing.

a/n: i envisioned myself in this position haha, sorry

"good night honeybee. i love you."

"good night angel! i love you always."

jisung sleepily replies, yawning into the phone, before he closed his eyes to be guided into slumber. although he knows comeback seasons does take a toll on his body, and sometimes mentality, he makes sure he calls you every night. whether it be to tell you he'll be in the dance studio until the next day, or before bed, he always tries to find time for you in his extremely busy schedule, especially since he is quite worried about you.

although it's been a few months since the entire debacle, he always wants to make sure you're safe and well. he knew that you didn't mind all of the sudden attention, and you didn't care about what everyone thought about you and him together, but sometimes he just wants to make sure you're okay.

it's obvious that he's the more vocal one in the relationship; always saying what's on his mind, telling you whenever he felt you should say or stop this, or whenever he felt angry about something petty and wanted to say it to get over it. he just has more experience in expressing his feelings to those close to him.

you, on the other hand, always kept everything bottled up inside, not necessarily saying anything, even when it bothers you, because you wouldn't want to be a bother to others, unless it ticked you off. you were always the one to express your anger for some complicated situations, but rarely to others. you find yourself as your own confidant, as your own provider, as your own push to help you through the tunnel of life.

the way you handle things, often than not, got you in some heated arguments with jisung. he just wants you to tell him when it's too much pressure. especially that day when the camera crew came in, setting a gazillion cameras inside your house, saying that the fans would love to see how you and jisung interact. he saw how uncomfortable it made you, and seeing as it's been two weeks, and you still jump when you walk in your sleepwear at 7am and see the camera following you, it's enough evidence.

yet, whenever he asks you, you brush it aside. ''i'll get used to it'' you'll always tell him, knowing fully well, you sometimes can't stand it. waking up, and pretending to be a youtuber making a get ready with me video, only for it to actually be posted, it ticks you off. yet, all you tell him is that you'll get used to it.

this situation, was no different. for the past three months, jisung has had activity after activity to go through, while trying to record content for this stupid youtube segment. most times it would split videos of him and you on the phone, laughing about some stupid meme you saw on twitter. you know, every single piece of your body misses your boyfriend; dying to be back in his arms, and snuggled with him on the couch, watching random TV shows while he randomly kisses your hair and pulls you closer.

you know that you miss him, and yearn for the day he comes and tells you that promotions are over and the frequent break in between has begun, but you don't tell him that. you don't tell him how much you miss waking up in the morning to see him dancing around the kitchen to a video of you singing one of his songs in the best voice you can muster, unintentionally burning the eggs on the stove.

you don't tell him how much you miss coming home from an interview with other artists, only to see him fixing his hair, humming puzzle piece, smiling goofily at the thought of you. you don't tell him how much you miss your rant sessions; him ranting about how close fans get sometimes, and you ranting about how much you wanna punch your coworker in the throat for her unbearably cocky attitude.

you don't tell him how much you miss last minute packing for a day trip to the other side of the country. you don't tell him how much you miss sulking on the couch, only for him to plant a million pecks and kisses on every corner of your face, until you smiled and playfully pushed him away.

before you knew it, you're sitting up in your bed, crying to yourself about how much you miss him. and for once, you want to let him know, desperately throwing away your pride and wanting him to know how much you ache for his presence, and his quirky habits, and his killer smile, and just everything he has to offer. you miss him so much, your cries get a little too loud, your breath gets a bit too heavy, and your body shakes a bit too much, but you don't care, you just miss him so much it physically hurts you.

the little lamp in the corner of your room shines a somber gold around the room, you oblivious to the fact that the cameras are on 24/7 and is catching this very moment, of your vulnerability. you are also oblivious to the fact that he didn't hang up the phone, him obviously being too tired to actually hover his finger, as he was out like a light, his little snores in the background evident to the entire thing.

"honeybee, i miss you so much. so much it hurts."

you start, your voice choked up, coming out cracked, and scratchy.

halfway through your rant, jisung wakes up, blinking a few times to himself, trying to adjust to the bright light amidst the dark room, the slightest sound of hiccups ring in his ear, an extremely nasally voice ringing out sobs and muffled words, and he automatically sits up in concern. he wants to immediately ask you what's wrong, but instead just listens to what you have to say.

"i miss how, every time you hug me, it feels like placing the last piece of the puzzle in its rightful place. honeybee i just miss how much you check up on me when i'm sick. how sometimes we take turns nightly to sing each other to sleep, you laughing when my voice cracks, or me teasing you with praises for a run you mastered. i miss playful mornings, both of us being too lazy to move, but somehow ending up dancing around the room to various artists and songs. i miss when i wake up, and you're already staring at me, the loving gaze in your eyes as you slightly smile, immediately going to plant a kiss on my big ass forehead. i miss pushing you away, and telling you to brush your teeth before you could give me a good morning kiss. i miss when you and the boys would all pile up in my house, and i would get to show you a bit of my country's cuisine, and laughing when you guys scarf it down like you haven't eaten in years. and i want to tell you all of this, but i don't want to be a burden to you. you already have a lot, with some overbearing fans, promotions, and the occasional run ins. i don't want you to focus on me only and put your feelings on the backburner like i always do. i wish i just had to courage to tell you all of this."

by the end of your rant, jisung has to wipe a few tears from his eyes, smiling sadly on the other end of the phone call, wanting to just pack his overnight bag and come to hold you, tell you that he misses you just as much, and scold you for keeping everything bottled up, like he always does.

he goes to check the time, 2:16 am it says, and he knows that he has to be up by 4am in any event, and he suddenly thanks literally everything for the sudden off day his boss gave them, because he knows for sure, after what you just confessed, he's going to surprise you. he hears some ruffling on the other side of the call, the sound of bedroom slippers hitting the tile floors, and a door opening and closing. he just hopes you're okay.

you, on the other hand, walks into your kitchen, quite starved after crying your heart out for what feels like all night, which in truth was about three hours. you flip the switch, your kitchen suddenly illuminated, and you put your hand in front of your eyes, the quick headache taking effect, and you blink repeatedly at the sudden light. you then smile, before going to your dishes, taking out your favorite bowl, and pouring some lucky charms to the brim of the bowl, before going in your refrigerator, and grabbing your milk, pouring it in as well, and grabbing a spoon.

you walk back towards the exit of the kitchen, towards the corridor that connected both the living room and the stairway in separate mazes together. suddenly flinching once you see the infamous moving camera, following you, and you roll your eyes. 'do they not need new batteries or something?' you thought to yourself, before walking upstairs to your room.

you look up at the camera on top of your vanity, and smile and tight lipped uncomfortable smile, before showing the big bowl of lucky charms and chuckling.

"cereal hits different at 2am after an emotional breakdown."

you say, chuckling once again, and happily eating your food, humming along to love again, as it plays inside your head, liking the way it sounds, and suddenly asking alexa to play it for you. it's not as loud as it would usually be, considering what time it is, and the fact that your neighbor just came back home from her long ass business trip (which you're lowkey suspicious of, because her boss came looking for her halfway through, saying if she didn't come in tomorrow then she'll be fired) and doesn't like k-pop for the life of her.

you rest your bowl by the foot of your bed, honestly too lazy to go back downstairs and place it back inside the sink. you then go to your phone, and open it, seeing as it was still on the book you were reading before jisung demanded for your attention, only to then fall asleep on you ten minutes later. you read until you notice the sun up, suddenly hearing my first and last playing around you. the doorbell ringing frequently, and you check the time.

9:48 am it reads, and you realize you read about 10 books in the span of seven hours. you shout that you'll be down in a minute and make sure jisung's hoodie is low enough, before placing your bedroom slippers back on and walking down the stairs, turning into the living room and left, towards the separate entryway (it's kind of a big ass house), opening the door, before tears blurred your vision, and you immediately scooped up from the floor, and spun around on your porch, inhaling the scent you missed for the past three months. quite happy that you were in jisung's embrace again.

you didn't question it one bit, in fact you didn't question anything, just told him to come inside and told alexa to play the song louder. coincidentally, it was Quiet Down, making both you and jisung laugh boisterously, before walking into the kitchen, and dancing to his songs, as you both made pancakes and gossiped about anything and everything, just like you missed and loved.

- Surprisingly, Kageyama doesn’t like sunny weather. At all.

- For him, it’s the absolute worst thing.

- He think that sunny weather is way too annoying and hot and stuffy and gross.

- Plus, going out for morning runs in sunny weather is like wearing 10 jackets in hell.

- Like you can put on an extra layer if you’re cold but you can’t just strip naked if you’re hot.

- Oh my god he hates it so much it pains him to even think about it.

- He likes rainy days.

- Definitely not his favourite though.

- Rainy days usually mean staying home for the entire day.

- He can just laze around in his house, do whatever he wants.

- The sound of rain against glass windows soothes him.

- The constant sounds of droplets hitting the windows give him a sense of tranquility and peace.

- However rainy days do have their drawbacks.

- One of them, is having to stay home.

- Let’s be real, Kageyama probably isn’t good at music.

- He can’t dance or sing to save his life.

- However, he does enjoy how listening to music calms his nerves and gives him a chance to relax, even if he’s in a situation where he should be focused on an assignment or a piece of class work.

- People would expect him to enjoy listening to EDM or alternative rock, but no.

- This boy likes to listen to lofi and love songs.

- This doesn’t mean that his playlist only consists of these two genres, but the majority of songs in his playlist are either chill lofi beats or songs that give you the feels.

- Some of his favourite artists are Jeremy Zucker, Blackbear, Conan Gray, Billie Eilish, Lauv, Clairo, Wallows, Khalid, BENEE, Post Malone, Coldplay, Rex Orange County, Green Day, Shiloh Dynasty, Kina, love-sadKID, and the Arctic Monkeys.

- Has like 5 different playlists for different moods and events.

- One for moody times, one for study beats, one for when he wants throwbacks, one for firing him up before volleyball matches, and one for if he ever has to DJ in the front seat of someone’s car.

- If he’s with you, you get one earbud, but he’ll be the one choosing the music still.

- He was just numb, curled up into a ball on his bed, staring at the wall. He couldn’t feel anything. Nothing in his mind registered properly. All he could think of, was everything his grandfather had taught him, before he eventually passed away.

- Submerging himself into the melancholy song he was listening to, he didn’t even feel the tears that were now streaming down his face.

- The salty tears were now staining his pillow, creating little wet spots.

- He listened to every single lyric in the song, clutching his sheets harder every time the chorus came up.

- He punched his mattress repeatedly, still unable to accept the fact that someone he held so dear to his heart had just left like the wind.

- It wasn’t long until he was a sobbing mess, shaking and whimpering as he knelt on the bed.

- Silently sang to the lyrics, plopping back to his bed in defeat.

- His sister lingered in front of the door for five whole minutes, eventually leaving to let Kageyama sort out his feelings himself.

- You introduce a ton of new songs to him, since he doesn’t know that much about anything else other than lofi and sad songs.

8. Movie that he would choose for a move nigh?

- The monthly Karasuno volleyball team movie night was finally here, and it was Kageyama’s turn to choose a movie this time, much to Tsukishima’s dismay.

- He’s put a lot of thought into this, not wanting to disappoint his teammates by choosing a shitty movie.

- He basically tried to figure out what everyone wanted to watch.

- However, everyone had very contrasting requests.

- Tsukishima wanted to watch Jurassic Park, Yamaguchi wanted a Disney movie, Hinata wanted something Marvel, Tanaka and Nishinoya wanted a horror movie, (Mainly so they could hit on you whilst you were still single) Sugawara wanted a romcom, Yachi wanted a comedy, and the others were fine with anything.

- He stressed himself out way too much trying to choose one movie.

- He finally got an idea after 3 entire days of thinking.

- And it wasn’t anything the team expected.

- Kageyama pulled up with Pulp Fiction.

- He’s seen that movie at least 5 times already.

- It was the perfect mix of comedy, gore, action, and philosophy.

- Plus, anything that starred Samuel L Jackson was worth a watch.

- Till this day, it remains one of his go to movies, alongside any MCU movie. (Captain America: The First Avenger is definitely his favourite though.)

12. Something small that they enjoy?

- One of the two small things Kageyama enjoys doing is baking cookies.

- Cookies in particular.

- I mean, there really is no detailed explanation.

- He’s pretty good at baking in general, even Tsukishima enjoys the cookies he bakes.

- Plus, he gets to dip the cookies in milk, what’s there not to enjoy?

- Another little thing he enjoys a lot is actually photography.

- Most the time, when he sees a pretty sky, or a city street at nighttime.

- He can’t help himself but snap a few photos here and there.

- Something about a well shot photo just hits different.

- Sometimes, he brings his camera out just to takes nice photos.

- Whenever you two are on dates, he’ll be able to capture candid or motion shots of when you’re just looking out the window of a bus mindlessly, or when you’re twirling around on the street playfully.

- Photos speak a thousand words, and honestly? He lives by that.

14. What is enough to bring him to tears?

- Support.

- Kageyama really needs support from someone he cares about.

- And no, not like support from his teammates.

- That’s different from hearing someone cheer from the stands.

- (Spoiler for backstory) Kageyama’s parents never gave much attention to him, since they were always busy with work. The only person that ever showed support for him was his grandfather, who passed away while he was still young.

- As if that wasn’t enough shit directed towards Kageyama, his teammates abandoned him during a match in junior high not long after the death of his grandfather.

- Which means that Kageyama now has lowkey abandonment issues.

- All through his volleyball journey he never got the support and reassurance he needed.

- He watched in envy as people from opposing teams, or even his own teammates, waved at their family members after they won or lost a match.

- All he could do was stare at the stands, hoping to catch just a glimpse of a family member.

- Nothing.

- Nobody realised how alone Kageyama felt during and after matches, until they watched him break down in tears after a particular match.

- It was the Spring Match against Seijoh, and Karasuno was playing like normal.

- Kageyama was insanely good as usual.

- What he didn’t notice then, was that you had dragged his sister Miwa to the match just so you both could cheer for him.

- In addition to that, you were also wearing his jersey.

- It wasn’t until the final point was scored, did he hear you and Miwa scream from the stands.

- Hearing the familiar voices, his head basically snapped in your direction, scanning the stadium for someone familiar, before landing his eyes on you and his older sister.

- His eyes widened for a hot second, his mind running in circles.

- Nobody has ever cheered for him.

- But here you two were, cheering for him from the stands.

- And you were wearing his jersey.

- A hand went up to cover his mouth, a huge grin spreading.

- One drop.

- Two drops.

- Then came the waterworks.

- The entire team was shocked.

- Like shookth.

- The two of you ran down to the arena, engulfing Kageyama in a huge hug.

- Best moment of his fucking life.

- From then on, the Karasuno team members made sure to notify you of any matches they had against other schools, hoping you and Miwa could go cheer.

(sits down) alright this is gonna be one hell of a post

What was your first viewing experience of Promare like? Was it in theaters or at home?

In theaters! I saw a trailer for it as an ad just before it started rolling out in the US and I was like groaning to my friends I wanted to see it bc Lio was hot (yes this was my only motivation to see the film, one smol pretty boy). And then we just decided at 11 am on the Saturday after it came out that we were gonna go watch it. At a theater 3 hours away. For a showing at 3 pm. It was worth it.

How would you rate the film?

10/10 would HIGHLY recommend. It's so good from the animation to the soundtrack to the plot to the character design,

Did you make any new friends through Promare?

Kinda yeah! Not super close friends, but my friend (that I already had lol) and I decided to make a discord server, and it was really fun for a while! But eventually it died down and now there's just a couple people in there who send memes every once in a while.

What made you want to watch Promare? What drew you in?

Lio Fotia being pretty. The only motivation I had to see the film.

Did your opinion on a character change over time?

Galo! I typically hate the dumbass protagonist thing, esp when like he was introduced and kinda came off pretty vain by like, acting as the center of attention lol. But by the middle of the movie I had changed my opinion on him pretty much entirely.

What is one of your favorite moments in the film?

thhhhheeee whole film,

No but actually I feel like the intro scene from the beginning of the film to when the Mad Burnish trio show up is a phenomenal scene in the movie that no one really talks about. The timing of the music, the animation, the sound design, the short introduction to the world and characters that was created so fluidly, like, it had me on the edge of my seat. Of course, I do like the following scene with the Mad Burnish just as much, but I feel like no one talks about the intro scene as much.

What is the worst moment in the film? How’d you want it to change?

uhh. uhhhhh. Oh no this is really hard. I know it's not a perfect piece, nothing is, but at the same time I don't dislike any part...? I guess maybe when Deus shows up. The dump of plot is kinda meh, also I feel like the poor animators had to rush that part out based on a lot of the choppiness of the walking animations and stuff. I'd like that scene to be a bit more fleshed out, really. Give Trigger a chance to work with it without feeling the rush of a deadline.

Who is your favorite character !?

Gueira!!! I cosplayed him in February (we actually had a whole Promare cosplay group) and even dyed my hair red bc of this man. I secretly want him and Meis to have their own little spinoff thing, because Trigger did tell us Gueira's backstory, so I kinda want them to tell us more about their characters. Especially since??? Them not telling us their last names specifically is very suspicious?????

Who is your least favorite character/character you just don’t really care for?

Kray Foresight.

What character do you feel is under appreciated in the fandom?

Pretty much any character who isn't Galo or Lio. I feel like they're the only ones I see people talk about, with the occasional Aina or GueiMeis, but like that's it.

What character do you think deserved better in the film?

Ainaaaaaaaa oh my god. They built up such a weird character arc for her that got so tossed around? She really deserved so much better.

Any unpopular opinions on a character/moment/etc?

Because I see people very aggressive sometimes on Twitter about it, uh, people are allowed to like Kray even tho that's not the popular opinion. I wouldn't touch anything with him with a ten foot pole, but that doesn't mean I should tell people to hate him 😅

Your favorite pairings? Platonic or Romantic!

GaloLio (this is almost like a freebie) and GueiMeis for romantic. Aina and Galo platonic friendship and actually I wish more people would think about the absolute chaos Gueira and Lucia would cause together.

Least favorite pairings? Platonic or Romantic!

Kray and Galo probably. I just can't see Galo liking him. The only time I could see this like maybe working is if like, in a Foresight!Galo AU where Kray just kinda trains him to work for him. I'm also not a fan of the age gap.

A popular opinion in the fandom you just wish would go away?

uhhhhh that doing x thing they say is bad means you should be blocked by the entire fandom? 🙃 These are things I have seen, genuinely, on Twitter, and Promare is the only fandom I've seen do it and it's a yikes. It's not even like, actually bad things. I saw one like "this person is a Kray stan go block them" and I'm just;;; that seems a bit harsh.

Though the Twitter fandom has kind of died down recently, so I haven't seen much of that since like fall of last year.

A popular opinion in the fandom you can’t get enough of?

Gueira and Meis are Lio's dads now. They've adopted him.

But like I feel like it would be in like that friend way where it's like "yup we're your dads now" and then Lio lowkey hates it bc hes like "you're like 3 years older than me" and they're like "still your dads. You should respect your parents no matter our age."

Favorite AUs you’ve seen/heard of or your own?

I always love the ones that mess with Galo's role in the story. I love the Foresight!Galo AU idea, I love the swap AU where Lio is a firefighter and Galo is a Burnish, and I like this one AU I came up with but didn't do anything with where Galo's "burning firefighter soul" actually ended up being Promare and he turned into a Burnish mid fight with Lio.

Oh! And the fast food AUs. McDonald's Gueira, Hooter's Galo, and what I made up, Domino's Meis. McDonald's McGueira is an iconic visual novel for the ages and it will go down in history.

Gueira and Meis are married and that's why they can't officially tell us their last name bc it's the same and they can't spoil their wedding day to us just yet.

Would you/have you recommended Promare to anyone?

Oh absolutely! I have both already recommended it and would recommend it to people! The DVD came out recently, so if you can I totally recommend checking it out in either the original Japanese or the English dub! I haven't seen the dub personally, but I've heard it's good and actually a lot of Japanese fans prefer it even which is wild.

Roxen - “Alcohol you”

Lol Remember when it was mid-Feb and we were all blissfully unaware of the dark Covid-tinted clouds looming just beyond the horizon? Well, around that time, Romania released their five Roxen songs and ESCUnited being as ESCUnited does, instantly annointed “Alcohol” you as their fave. “This selection is good but “Alcohol you” is great” “Omg I welled up when I heard “Alcohol you” ALCOHOLYOUALCOHOLYOUALCOHOLYOU. Obs, my interest was piqued, so

I sat myself down

Plugged in my earbuds

and listened

and wondered “Did this woman just sing “I I Will Call You When I’m Drunk???”

Am I listening to the same song?” Am I missing something here? Am I losing my mind? Am I in “A Beautiful Mind” and am I Russell Crowe? What the fuck’s going on?

Song Analysis

Unfortunately, while the brief Roxen reverence was lowkey fascinating, “Alcohol you” itself is a crock of shit and Roxen Fans have convinced themselves otherwise because... she bedazzles her face? There are strings present? It’s edgier than liking “Tears getting sober”? 

First of all, the lyrics. SINCE people love to mention how profound and genuine "Alcohol you” is, here is the first verse:

The sun is rising ink For me it's hard to blink I'm falling I wrote some stupid words Before I lost my mind And called you A taste of bittersweet To chase the memories Blue heaven I need you but it hurts To feel like I deserve Your weapons

SO TOUCHING! SO DEEP! SO REAL! I... have no fucking idea what’s she’s singing, lol. Is this what the average reader of BorisBubbles.tumblr.com experiences with each passing entry? Is “Wrote some stupid words, before I lost my mind”  a part of the writer brainstorm that accidentally made its way into the song? Like what do these words even mean. Random words strung together without context are just jibberish Roxen, I am *SO* sorry to tell you. A Few Lame Puns A Good Story Does Not Make. The only “profound” thing about “Alcohol you” is its ability to profoundly confuse the shit out of anyone who hears it. Shit be shallower than a puddle, yo.

Oh and as an aside: Drinking and drugs, and the abuse thereof is a massive issue with teenagers. So yes, I definitely welcome songs that serve as a PSA against this, but for some reason people (idiots) believe “Alcohol you” counts as one and, no? The song is about Roxen drinking to FORGET the abuse her love interest puts her through (I think? God this shit is more nebulous than  Plath). This song does not warn against alcoholism. It actively trivilalizes it.

NF Corner

What the general opinion didn’t lie about however, was the qualité shown in Selecta Nationala. Naturally, as one could expect, Roxen torpedoed every song she didn’t like (read: the bombed with every song other than the pathetically easy-to-sing-and-emote-with “Alcohol you”), so what SHOULD’VE been an epic NF instead turned into a blatant coronation. Also, Natalia Gordienko was there serving some epic Abu Ghraib-like vocals, but more on that in a few updates. 

Anyway, there fortunately was ONE song which could contest “Alcohol you” and that’s this one

Roxen - “Storm”

A burst of juvenile energy and self-empowerment that might’ve been a bit TOO big for Roxen. ‘HI I AM STORM’ is such a hilarious Pot Ledom-esque line and the duality of calm zen verses and an irresistable sassy chorus was a thing Billie Eilish (omg i made it this far without mentioning her. Props to myself, I guess) would pull off with ease. Seeing as both “Cherry Red” and “Beautiful Disaster” were... well... not-so-beautiful disasters, I would have gladly taken a “Storm” over what actually won? Meh. ESC was cancelled anyway, so I suppose I’m not that bothered anymore. Oh wellerz. 

Romania 2020 vs Romania 2021

Bookmakers were CONVINCED that Roxen would have EASILY floated her way into the finale but I don’t know about thaaaaat (-- Sandra Diaz-Twine). Look, okay, Roxen’s biggest issue really is the lack of experience. She just doesn’t have finesse a more experienced performer, such as a Destiny or an Ulrikke (TVR inviting Ulrikke to SN was kind of a highkey PR disaster, as Ulrikke mopped the floor with *everyone* there, including poor Roxen) and well... “Alcohol you” is a bad song, lol? Yes, there was a lack of good lowtempo in semfinal one, but Romania didn’t have it, okay? Borderline at best. However, TVR have reselected Roxen and have a full year to work on her until she has the peform. Selectia Nationala was good - Romania just have to continue down the same paradigm, and they should have a good shot at reaching the finale. 

FREAKY! FRIDAY! FACTOR!

Instead of going for a nationwide selection and living with the ~DRAMA~ that would have come along with it, TVR cut the crap, selected an artist and then provided a soft-rigged NF where their chosen song woudl be selected. This is a reskin of the usual Romania stuff, but I will be lenient given how bonkers the finale set up was. Roxen terminating her two best songs via an involuntary lack of energy actually turned into a brief twitter meme and I lived for it. 

I will also give props for TVR’s choice of invited artists. Sandro is w/e, but Ulrikke completely dunked everyone present, but the REAL freak entry was Natalia Gordienko’s “Prison” and I don’t wish to spoil but... let’s just say it was a performance that was rather hard to forget. For these reasons, have a few senhitfaces:

2010/2011 (Shit’s A Blur):

I started noticing aesthetic interests I had.

I developed my love for the outdoors and exploration.

I started realizing vaguely spooky things were really intriguing to me.

I got SUPER into Harry Potter.

Which lead to me creating my first two Ocs.

I started switching from drawing animals/landscapes to drawing people.

2012:

I started identifying with punk rock & emo culture/aesthetics.
