This day almost always comes with a bit of rain, a flood of memories from my childhood.....The nakuldana and batasha prasad, decorating the ratha and rather mela....and the beginning of the anticipation for Durga Pujo as Kumartuli artisans start building the frameworks of the Durga idols.
On Monday, May 13, 2024, according to the Hindu calendar and Panchang, it marks the Shukla Paksha Sashti tithi, which is the sixth day of the waxing or light phase of the moon in most regions. Earlier in the day, until 4:16 AM, it was observed as Shukla Paksha Panchami tithi, the fifth day of the waxing or light phase of the moon. From 4:16 AM onwards, it transitions into Shukla Paksha Sashti tithi, extending till 4:54 AM on May 14.
Y'all, my lil cousin bro saw Lord Jagannath in his dream!!
Sooo, he saw that he was in his study room when Jagaa came behind him, the way he does while coming onto Bada Danda during Ratha Yatra.
He said "Mama, Jagannath jhuli jhuli aasuthile. Tanka pachare yellow colour ra chakra thila. Se smile karuthile. Bada bada aakhi aau red colour ra mouth thila. Mu tanku dekhiki 'Jai Jagannath' chileiki daudiki paleili".
("Mama, Jagannath was swinging while coming to me. There was a yellow chakra behind him. He was smiling. He had big eyes and his mouth was red. I saw him and screamed 'Jai Jagannath' and ran away")
Y'all.... I got goosebumps and tears in my eyes while listening to his description... 🥹
