Honestly he loves anything you make. He really likes your tea too.
He isn't a big fan of spice but he will try it anyway just to see how it is.
Big mistake
Once he took a bite out of that blood red chicken he almost fainted.
He admits it tastes delicious but DAYUM that spice hit him HARD
He is tearing tf up but he keeps eating.
While your over there enjoying yourself like it's not even spicy

He asked you to make him one of your favorite spicy foods. So you did.

Jack sat there in silence. Then out of no where you came in and have him those pickled radish to help him once it kicked in.

THE SPICE FUCKING TACKLED HIS ASS
He started fucking crying and yelling.
Chat kept telling him to eat the cubes
Once he ate like 5 cubes the spice went down and he just sat there with chat rethinking his life choices
6/10 he would do it again but not in a while.

They only agreed because they saw you eating it like it was nothing. Plus it looked good.
Once a fucking gain BAD IDEA.
They had walked into the kitchen hungry when they saw you eating.
They asked what it is and you explained it's Spicy Korean beef soup
They asked if they can try it and you agreed. Making them a Bowl and then going back to eating yours
Now dream can handle spice but once he took a bite his tongue was on FIRE.
Sapnap took a bite as well and started coughing because of the spice
They both looked back at you to see you on your phone scrolling through Twitter eating it like nothing
They then looked back at each other and had regretful looks on there faces
It tastes amazing but what tf kind of spice tolerance do you have?!
They both just agreed on you not having taste buds due to burning them off.
Once they finished there food they Highfived and immediately went to drink some milk.
4/10 would do it again for a challenge but not on free will
Bench trio
You were cooking the rice cakes in the middle of their stream because you figured they would be hungry.
When you were done you walked in a gave them all plates
"Oooo~ smells spicy" Ranboo commented and he went out of camera view to eat.
"Mhm" tubbo agreed with a slightly scared voice
"Nice!" Tommy yelled.
You explained that it's a Korean snack called rice cakes and then gave them all pickled raddish
You then explained if it gets to spicy just eat the raddish
You left to eat on your own and they all then started eating on stream (besides ranboo)
After about 3 bites they all started to feel the burn
Ranboo was in PAIN he stopped eating after half of the plate but it still hurt to the point he had to eat the raddishes
Tubbo was basically crying and red-faced while eating. It took him a while to remember the raddishes
Tommy was the Least bothered but he was still red-faced. He finished his but he also ate some of the raddishes. He was breathing really hard the whole time lol
Chat was having a fun time watching them suffer haha
Tubbo- 7/10 tasty but overly spicy
Ranboo- 5/10 why must he suffer so
Tommy- 8/10 he loves the taste of them but it's so spicy.

141 (w/ OC) Hidden Talent Headcanon
Summary: Everyone has their own hidden talent. Because it's hidden, no one knows they have it until they accidentally show it to each other. Some of them were very useful, some of them were completely useless.
Warning: none, possible ooc hc, and bad english
Author's note: This is just a random thought that popped into my head. This is definitely headcanon, so enjoy for your entertainment.
🚬 Price : Speaking in high-pitched voice
Captain Price was known for his heavy voice and smoking cigarettes only made it worse. Despite this, he was surprisingly able to speak in a very high-pitched voice. He's not going to sound like himself when he does that. His talent was discovered by the rest of 141 at the most random moment.
At the time, he tried to mock Laswell by repeating her words in a high-pitched voice. It was a shock to everyone, even to Laswell, who, instead of being offended, asked him to do it again.
💀 Ghost : Doing rap
His rapping ability was completely hidden until Soap dared him to recite a rap lyrics. Not just any rap lyrics, it was from Eminem's song. And with his deep voice, he would sound more attractive when he started doing rap. Trust me. He would sound like he was reciting a magic spell at some point but he still did a pretty good job with those lyrics.
He never intended to learn how to rap tho. He just likes hip-hop and sometimes he enjoys it a little too much. He was a fast reader and talker too. Maybe that's why he can do it easily.
🧢 Gaz : Faking Price's signature
This is a dangerous talent. He can't use it just because he wants to. He could get into trouble if he uses it recklessly. People first found out about his talent when 141 needed Price's signature and it was urgent. Price was nowhere to be found and they had tried calling him. Price just said just wait until he's back or just copy his signature from another document. Gaz volunteered to try copying their Captain's signature and surprisingly it came out exactly the same.
From then on, if the situation was urgent and as long as he had Price's permission, he would sign documents that required Price's signature in his absence.
🧼 Soap : Handling spicy food
He surprised everyone with his high tolerance to spice. When I said high, I mean really high. Everyone thought he was just the typical white dude who would think black pepper is spicy. But when Alex dared the 141 to try eat chicken wings with the Da Bomb sauce, only who Soap didn't budge with the spice. He'd say something like, "it's nice" and continue to finish his chicken wings.
That scene made everyone question their whole life. Gaz and Farah, who could usually handle the spice, gave up after the first few bites. Bambi, who eats Korean fire noodles for breakfast, couldn't even finish her chicken.
🎀 Bambi : Classical singing
Everyone knows Bambi has a few talents in arts. The most commonly known is her dancing ability. But only a few know that she can sing. Let alone classical singing. She was never serious when it came to singing, especially in front of others. She'd sing seriously only when she wanted to and that one precious moment was when there was a singing competition in the agency. Her competitive ass wouldn't let anyone win.
She used to learn classical music and singing techniques when she was little, but stopped because she wanted to focus on dancing.

Koomibruary?
Well hello there Loves 💜 i seem to be officially back (i guess?) well i’m no longer really busy so i guess i have more time for my blog now. Though the first long post i shared was just me ranting but hey, sue me.
Anygays, i don’t think i have much to say as i’ve been expressing my excitement through dms with my friends so like, i poured the whole energy in there but i thought i would still have my fair share of talk about the koominology that happened the past few days. I mean..

I mean damn boy okay chill no one is going to kidnap your Jimin-ssi (can’t promise tho wassup) I mean would you look at his face lighting up when he spotted Jimin in the comments

Please that was so fucking adorable felt like opening a Christmas gift. Besides all that i was really happy to see my two babies after a while, hearing from them, seeing them interact with us (Though i won’t say it enough but we really don’t deserve them they’re way too nice considering the shit Army pull towards them) but nonetheless i was happy to see them

Now going back to JK’s live precisely the “Chicken live” i know most people were excited about him asking Jimin to come over like second nature (and i was too) but i want to point out at something else, precisely this:
Now, i don’t even think you need to be Korean or understand Korean to get the point. The way he dropped them honorifics and the tone he used to tell Jimin to take care of himself or well to be healthy, I- FSDHJSDHFDHG!!!!!! My brain stopped braining and i was outside that day i couldn’t even properly scream to the world that THIS was such a boyfriend behavior like.. JEON JUNGKOOK!!!!
Again, talking about each other on their lives, complimenting each other’s songs, etc.. Okay i see you. With that i wanna talk about some points, well as best as i can i’m really bad at organizing those so if i forgot to mention anything feel free to remind me.
Jimin is busy, JK is not :
From the past contents and their lives we basically understand that Jimin have been really busy preparing to drop his Album now confirmed to be in March rather than February (Someone is getting in trouble for that previous article tho) and well just because we’re assuming that he’s already done with the tracks it doesn’t mean he’s done with everything so understandable, that boy is very busy lately, so far he has been working in silence for a long time but it’s starting to come to the surface now.
For JK, he already told us back in his Qatar live that he didn’t have any upcoming schedules, he was enjoying his free time, doing his meat tours, maybe spending time with his family, and doing other things 👀. Anygays, he yet again confirmed during his last lives that for now he wasn’t working on his album, that he mostly stays at home, doing nothing, yada yada.
Why did i even mention the obvious? Well we both know how some people want to discredit their bond so badly that they come up with any kind of excuse for how Jimin and JK are “distant”. Sorry to break it to you Suzan but their schedules are very obviously different and even married people have that issue when the schedules don’t match. 🙄
Jikook won’t be doing lives from home
I guess we’ve all established by now that JK would be doing his lives from Brunnen and Jimin would be doing his lives from the studio. Even before you click on the live notification you already know what to expect, though JK gave us a new background during his last live but it’s nothing we haven’t seen before.
Again for the fools out there who think that JK lives in Brunnen.. I feel bad for you, with that logic Jimin lives in the studio as well. These two are very private and it’s smart of them to be it really, considering how people seem to be unhappy about every other detail about them, i feel like it’s only logic to not want to show not one bit of their actual living spaces.
Back to back lives
When i asked the Universe for a Jikook live i should’ve been more specific as in, a Jikook live, with both of them physically in the same place, in the same frame Universe-nim! 제발 😭
I’m not complaining tho that is the closest thing to a Jikook live (or selca) we’re getting like..

Although it had me wondering do they just play eenie meenie miney mo to decide who goes first or?
JK’s entourage seem to know Jimin on a different level
Does that even make sense saying it like that? But to explain it better, i’m taking the example of JK’s coach Tommy, when he talked about Hobi yes he of course knows Hobi who doesn’t but he also talked about him as in someone he knows as JK’s best friend and band mate that he saw before maybe once or twice or on rare occasions anyways.
Whereas with Jimin, it’s like coach Tommy is used to seeing Jimin, used to have him there, not just once or twice but on multiple occasions and well considering how Tommy is JK’s coach (unless i’m missing a detail here), it means that Jimin accompanied him many many times before to the point where Jimin is basically friendly with him too.
Jimin’s reaction or behavior towards JK’s boldness
Here i meant the difference between last year and this year. Remember how back in beginning of 2022, JK was starting to be a bit bolder about Jimin just really putting it out there that he will keep on holding onto Jimin, that Jimin is his, that he did go see Jimin in his room and hugged, giving him the finger hearts on stage, etc.. And Jimin seemed to be setting some limits to how much was okay to show (I’m not even sure how to put it but i hope my point was clear)
But this year, i mean listen i feel like Jimin just threw the limits out of the window cause while last year he was okay with the forehead “kiss” moment he also shook his head no after JK gave him the heart finger like.. Jimin-ssi, i’m pretty sure JK taking a chunk out of your peach and your foreheads kissing is way bolder than that small gesture but i guess the quota for boldness was over for that day lol
As i said this year Jimin seems to just go for it, commenting under his baby’s live that he’s cute, that he wants to tie his hair back neatly (don’t get me started on the cute fanarts OMG), calling him baby again, that he wants JK to grow and protect him, etc.. I mean damn i expected everything but this honestly like yes nothing new, just Jikook Jikooking but i didn’t expect it to be so explosive (Not complaining give me more)
Which had me thinking, were they maybe testing the waters back from September? All the cute lil comments Jimin posted about JK and that whole “Army are waiting for an answer 🙄” during the Busan live, i’m just speculating of course but who knows.
I’m just glad that whatever is going on now, means that they don’t give a fuck anymore about what people think and as long as they’re not doing anything that would be scandalous to some people’s eyes, they should be allowed to interact freely without having haters weight on them with their hateful comments and their twisted narratives.
And as always, haters will hate no matter what
Whether these two interact or not really haters will always find a thing to complain about and find a way to twist shit to fit their own narrative. I mean from my yesterday post you could already tell, a whole ass mistranslation because they can’t accept facts, and are we even surprised that the people defending the “translator” are part of the cult? No not really.
People will always try to discredit their bond no matter what so they might as well just not give a fuck about them and do what they see as fit for now, i mean if they’re going to stop doing this and that to please a bunch of hateful rats.. I’d rather they virtually flip the bird on us all and do their thing!

dancer lino! when he teaches the others the choreo when he showcases his skills when he does dance covers when he talks about modifying and choosing choreos and literally anything and everything to do with him as a dancer i alwaysss always eat up bc he's so skilful and knowledgeable and it's always a delight to me to listen to a professional talk about their thing or watch them do said thing (bonus: not suuuper related but there was like a compilation vid of his fast reflexes like catching a hat after knocking it off his head etc and it was SO fun to see and rly fascinating to me as a chronically uncoordinated individual)

'what's chicken in korean?' 'fried' had me replaying that part and cackling So many times. like it’s the LAYERS of it all poor felix trying his damnedest to explain this all in korean and just looking for the simplest answer and this dude instead of just translating the word ‘chicken’ says FRIED and it’s the no hesitation at all that does it for me. felix fully losing it too HDKSJKD it’s just so good i LOVE an organically silly moment more than anything also honestly a real display of how much i like these guys lies within the fact that i watched an ASMR vid for them.. shivers just thinking abt it but it Was worth it in the end
rather than him being a menace (which one might assume would be my top favorite moment apparently it didn't even make top 5 LMAO) i just love when he's caring esp when it's towards chan (bc of the leader/kids and hyung/dongsaeng dynamics usually being the opposite) like when he insists chan go eat while he keeps cooking their food like i read somewhere recently someone said 'loving someone is wanting to make things easier for them' and i see that in the way my friends treat me and i see it in how he treats skz and yeah let me NOT get emo abt this on a wednesday night GOD i just think. in the words of a great poet/artist. love is so nice

I started watching Asian BL series at the end of January this year, so I'm still pretty new to them, but I thought it would be fun to post my top 10 so far, and then check in every now and then to see how it changes! At this point I've watched around 38 series, not including specials, etc. (16 Thai; 11 Japanese; 10 South Korean and 1 Taiwanese)
Anyway, the current top 10:
1. My Personal Weatherman (2023, Japan)
I've watched this 5 or 6 times now! Miscommunication (or, even better, total lack of communication) is one of my biggest weaknesses! I live for it! I often hate when characters talk their feelings out too soon (or sometimes at all lmao), so this is like... perfect for me! And their dynamic was so delicious too
2. Moonlight Chicken (2023, Thailand)
This was my first BL and so it was also my introduction to EarthMix (who I'm now obsessed with). It's always nice to see adults falling in love, but I think the contrast with young love was really nice too! But I definitely preferred the JimWen plot. Earth did a great job of embodying a character ten years older than he is and Mix was great too and I love how everyone actually looks sweaty and it's just a really beautifully made series
3. KinnPorsche (2022, Thailand)
This was the first BL series I ever heard of, I think! But I couldn't figure out how to watch it in 2022 for some reason, so it took me a couple of years to get there lol I'm going to be honest, it's not what I was expecting at all! Everyone kept talking about how dark and fucked up it is, but it's so funny and goofy!!! Like, there are dark elements, but the delivery overall is very silly to me (in a good way), and it's honestly one of the funniest things I've seen in my life haha and the romance between Kinn and Porsche is everything, really
4. Cherry Magic (2023, Thailand)
I did watch the Japanese one first and adored it, but there's something about TayNew and what they bring to these characters and romance that really had me hooked. Plus I prefer Jinta to Tsuge XD but this is just such a sweet and heartwarming show ;__; I wish it hadn't had the copyright issues because it's kind of a PITA to rewatch
5. Boys Be Brave! (2024, South Korea)
Full disclosure: I didn't care for the side couple but I'm OBSESSED with Jinwoo and Kisub. They're both low key weirdos and there's nothing more I love than weirdos finding love in each other! Plus, they're opposites attract, another favourite of mine. It's a very cosy and comforting series
6. Old Fashion Cupcake (2022, Japan)
Hit me right in the rapidly approaching 40 feels! I just... It's just gorgeous. Just so lovely! The romance is beautiful and it looks beautiful and the acting is beautiful! BEAUTIFUL!
7. Cherry Magic (2020, Japan)
I've found that, while I gravitate overall to the Thai shows so far, the Japanese ones make me more emotional? Maybe it's because they do the ~I'm not worthy of love thing so well. But this was so sweet and special
8. A Tale of Thousand Stars (2021, Thailand)
There were some aspects that bothered me that kept it from being perfect, but it's a lovely story and Earth and Mix really have something special together onscreen (well, I love their offscreen interactions too haha) And I love the setting! And knowing this was Mix's first acting gig???? Incredible!
9. Cupid's Last Wish (2022, Thailand)
Didn't care for the side story with the aunt and uncle, and it gets a bit wishy washy toward the end, but I LOVE road trip stories and I love body swap and I think the way it was done here was really good. The transitions between Jan and Mix playing Win were SO well done and Earth gets to play a slightly more lighthearted character and there's a lot of lovely scenery and some cute cows! Plus, Jan and Mix are both so cute when they eat lol
10. Manner of Death (2020, Thailand)
As a life long lover of mysteries, I didn’t feel the mystery plot was particularly strong, but this series is kind of batshit and I love it. Plus smalltown mysteries are my jam, strong or not! And it has the most unhinged proposal I've seen to date
Aaaaannd that's it for now! I can easily see Wandee Goodday making its way into this list when I do an update (probably even my top 5)
Oh, but for fun, my average ratings by country:
Japan: 8.2; Thailand: 8.3; South Korea: 8.6
Which is funny because the South Korean ones have, overall, been less enjoyable for me lol but I've seen fewer so I think that the few highly rated ones have bumped the rating up haha

Homecooking [March ed]
Hiiiiii~
Rolling into spring with some spring rolls xD sorry, that was bad :P
Nothing much this month, I would say. Weather getting warmer. Sun out for longer. .. etc. I did a sketch of my favourite short tracker this season: Kim Gun Woo of Korea. I am watching a Kdrama called The Impossible Heir. Started strong, I caught up . .. & then the female lead kinda got on my nerves. I'm not familiar with her acting profile; however, I'm not sure how she got casted for this role. Were there no other options?! Anyway, you watch for yourself (& maybe let me know!).
I ate out several times this month as well. In fact, I've eaten out the most number of times this month since the pandemic lol it's an achievement. Will work on those posts after this one! But for now. ..
The carbonara Samyang spicy chicken noodles WITHOUT the spicy chicken sauce. I've added some baby bokchoy, tofu & kimchi with it.
Kimchi pancake- I'm trying diff batters. This one was unsuccessful so I won't share. It was so. .. 'hard' =/
Homemade wontons with noodles & baby bokchoy.
Yes. .. more bokchoy -.-" this was thick rice noodles with hot pot fatty beef slices. Threw in some soup seaweed as well.
Pasta - for dinner, then leftovers for lunch the next day.
Also the carbonara Samyang spicy chicken noodles but without the sauce xD I keep the sauce for hotpots & stuff now.
Bro made fried chicken using a new batter recipe. It was alright.
"A little bit of everything" rice noodles - bean curd, bokchoy, napa cabbage (it's so pale in colour that you can't even see it), soup seaweed, kimchi, chicken. .. in a deonjang jjigae base.
Yeah I know, it's expired but it was still good. I smelled it haha I ate the Korean franchise congee recently ("Bon-juk" brand) & I was inspired to create something similar. I used this expired soybean paste soup sauce with another Hmart product that I've eaten before, instant vegetable-flavoured congee, & cooked the two together!
& it became this ^ soybean paste congee. It was actually very good! I had a little taste test while cooking it & it was way too salty (the instant congee pack is seasoned) so I added regular rice to it & more water . .. I essentially diluted out the contents. Ended up with way too much product lol oh well, leftovers, right? This was super successful. I would recommend it, especially if you wanna make a bigger batch & save some for later or if you are feeding 3-4 ppl.

PS: I visited the Stanley A Milner (downtown) library for the 1st time since the renos were finished. I don't exactly know when the renos were done as I don't travel to that area often. ..
The atrium area between 2nd and 3rd level, feat. my nieces.
The facility was actually really nice! I remember spending time here when I was in high school . .. it was sooooo dim & the place was so old-looking. The most amount of time I was here was during extended essay writing period.. . had to read, write notes, & cite references for my paper, which was on Sun Yat-sen lol I don't recall the title of my paper anymore...been too long! But yeah. The library is very good-looking, with some really cool areas. The crowd. .. ughhh.. There was a strong security presence, which was good, I guess, but the amount of questionable ppl was also abundant. Sometimes I wonder if having a security gate/bag xray machine at the door would be a good idea. Of course, I acknowledge the fact that it's a "public" library but I also think measures should be taken to make all members of the public feel safe. Then again, if such measure was applied to a library, malls should get it too? *shrugs* Let's just say the facility was upgraded BIG time but the population hasn't changed.
Off I go to work on other things now :P seeeee ya!

Friday nights are your usual serotonin boosts considering that it's going to be another nice weekend full of self-reflection, bonding and entertainment outside your physical endeavors yet it doesn’t feel like that’s the case today. The rain outside sets up the mood for you to be sentimental yet why would you be? It’s not because of another stressful night that just threw gasoline on the flames or another crappy Internet connection that made your test a living hell but rather more than that.
Rubbing your fingers gently to the mouth of the glass, you let out a deep sigh that feels like it reverberated around the room. You took a sip—maybe two—maybe three—as the heat of the drink ignites inside your throat, almost coughing right after on how bittersweet the grapefruit and Soju concoction is.
“She doesn’t understand things, I hate it…”
Drink again and let the liquid burn in your throat as you pour in more. Not so long after, you grabbed some leftover, recently-heated Korean fried chicken right after your shot as you craved for it, badly. Everything just feels off today as you’re usually that of a nonchalant-acting guy yet here you are, serotonin off the radar as you can’t even enjoy what you’ve been craving for.
After minutes of eating the portions alongside the shots you’ve taken, you burped and started to feel lightheaded as the alcohol is already kicking in. The rain outside rages as it gets stronger as time goes by. You didn’t mind it and started scrolling down the endless feed appearing from the blue light being emitted by your phone. A few laughs and smiles enlightens the mood yet it still can’t slip off your mind—you want to forget it.
A few more shots and you’re feeling worse than before, stopping right after and devouring all of the chicken on the table. Feeling uneasy and vulnerable right now, you want to go and drink some water until a ring on the doorbell stops you from doing so.
“Ugh, who the hell visits my house at this time? Gosh…”
While feeling dizzy and uneasy, you hurriedly hid the alcohol and the shotglass on the refrigerator and walked towards the door right after to reveal who's behind the door only to wish that you shouldn’t have opened it.
“C-Can we talk?”
A black-haired woman in an oversized hoodie baffled you and stunning you at your place. She hands down the umbrella at the rack as you can see her hair messed-up alongside herself being soaked on how intense the rain has been pouring. Time felt slower as several emotions ran down your veins as you can’t think of what you could do at this moment—you just wished that she didn’t appear in front of you.
Fighting your own emotions, you set up a stern face and a cold demeanor as you let her in your house, not wanting to let herself be soaked more by the torrential pour of the rain even though she looks like she’s one.
“Here, a towel to dry yourself.”
“T-Thanks…”
She gently got the towel from your arms as a cold “Welcome” came out of your mouth. You still can’t help to be soft and thoughtful whenever you’re with her no matter what situation the both of you are in. She knows this and you know it yourself too. Even with the mask you're on, you still can't help to feel concerned yet you fight it with your utmost efforts.
“I said don't go out when the rain is this extreme, right? You may catch a cold and you know that it's not good for you.”
“I k-know but can we just talk?”
Ignore her calls and let the extremity of the rain rattles the roof to outpower her voice yet your ears want to listen to her, decipher every syllable that comes out of her mouth as nature is against your odds—the rain calming down as soon as she speaks.
“Please?”
How can you deny her endearing voice pleading for you? You can't yet you’re still fighting yourself over the temptation of breaking your cold act in front of her. You can see her pout alongside hearing her cute, audible whines that make you hard to fight for falling in. You stayed strong yet your curious mind can’t help to ask her more questions about her plan on coming to your place in an unanticipated time.
“I just want to t-talk about what h-happened a week ago. I’m sorry f-for being so selfish and a lot o-of stuff like that…”
The rain worsens as the rattle’s on the roof is in the same course of noises from outside. It outpowers her voice yet your ears did the best to listen to her—it also can’t be helped as you feel invigorated whenever hearing her saccharine voice. Your face involuntarily forms a frown upon hearing her stutter and how sincere she is about her apologies. As you face her once again, your stern gaze sends shivers down her spine as you sit right beside her, not uttering a single word which earns a confused expression from hers.
“Please… I’m really s-sorry about it. I should have t-talked about you when I h-had the time and I’m t-taking this opportunity today.”
She tucked her arms around herself after as you can see her hare lips shivering on how cold she’s been feeling. You then realize how sincere she is about her apologies and how determined she is on getting to you and that prints a faint smile on your face. She notices it as she can’t help but smile too—knowing how contagious your smiles could be sometimes and she can’t help but smile too. You hurriedly fixed your smile and came back to you cold self as your eyes almost formed a squint, staring right on her brown-colored pupils.
“Glad you knew, Hayoung.”
You stood up from your seat as a defeated sigh escaped from her lips, losing hope as her mind was being clouded with regrets after all of the selfish act she’d done. You then walked out, away from her sight as she almost broke down in tears, emotions dominating all over her but she managed to stay strong.
“Here, some water to hydrate yourself.”
After a couple of minutes, you showed up again as she looked at you with a worry in her face. Well, your soft side for her is now evident on how thoughtful and composed you are as time goes by. She can now hear the calmness of your voice rather than the cold, stern one from earlier and that paints a wide smile on her face—a smile you’re longing to see.
“I’m r-really sorry…”
Pat her back gently as you look at her endearing eyes, you can’t help but smile as you thought and reflected earlier to give her another chance. A reassuring smile scults your mouth yet you’ve never felt bad with her going through all of these: all of her efforts to get to your place despite the torrential rain outside and her sincere apologies towards you say enough.
“It’s alright Hayoung, it’s alright.”
Your reassuring tone never fails to emit a vibrant energy within the room as you slowly hug her—not really minding yourself from getting wet. Gently placing your head on her shoulders and fidgeting your fingers behind her head, she was baffled about your sudden change of mood as you heard an audible gasp coming out of her mouth. You hugged her tighter as her chattering teeth calmed down as the warmth of your hug rivals the coldness she’s been experiencing. Not so long after, you pulled out of your embrace and stared momentarily right into her eyes as she felt affection towards every second the both of you are stealing gazes.
“I’m so sorry if I came too harsh earlier, didn’t mean to do that…”
“It’s okay… I understand you. I may do the same too when that happens and I’m sorry for being so selfish.”
Her words enlighten you yet you still feel that disappointment corrupting your heart that made a dent yet it’s healing faster considering how things are getting brighter despite the worst of conditions outside. She knew that you totally became soft for her and you won’t deny it—you just can’t make your sunshine gloom like that and you’ll always feel guilty and bad if you do so.
Not so long after, she held your hand as she looked at you directly in your eyes and you could see her eyes glistening upon the dim light the lampshade had been emitting. Your smile then widens as the happiness you're feeling is now genuine as she hitches a breath, preparing to say anything that you'll be all ears for.
"I'm going to be a better person from now on. I'm sorry for that, again."
"It's okay Hayoung, we'll form a healthier relationship from now on, alright?"
"Yes…"
Apart from the hundreds of jokes she made for you to laugh at, this one isn't even close to one and you know sincerely she is to change and that wipes out any doubts you're feeling right now. The both of you knew your deficiencies and it's now the time to correct what's wrong and to fix what's broken—mend the dent in your heart.
As the both of you stared awkwardly at each other, you could definitely see her eyes glistening in the dim light the lampshade had been emitting as she hugged you tightly and broke down in tears. There was no time for you to adjust or do anything except to embrace her with her warmest hugs. You were heartbroken to see her cry like this even though you know how fragile her heart is—her crying with the simplest things possible says enough.
Her broken and stuttering words made you concerned as you patted her head in order to calm her down as she whined and released the pain she had been feeling. Feeling that your actions are calming her down, you let out a sigh of relief as you kissed her forehead in order to know how affectionate and caring you are through your simplest actions.
“It’s alright Hayoung, okay? I became so aggressive there and I’m sorry for that. I j-just want you to understand m-me. That’s all…”
Your voice soon gets raspier as you were about to let it all out as you hold it back, not wanting her to worry about you as much as you were worried about her. All of your built-up rage inside you earlier is now forgotten because of your dearest sunshine making your heart softer than a marshmallow. You can’t afford to lose her because of your selfish acts and you’re glad about how willing she is to make a change and so are you.
“It’s getting c-cold…”
“Go take a shower and change your clothes. This hoodie won’t prevent your clothes from getting soaked.”
“Yeah…”
“Also, just get those oversized shirts on the closet there, probably those would help.”
“Yeah, t-thanks…”
She then went over to the bathroom hurriedly as she got herself some clothes and envelops herself with the towel you gave her earlier. It always makes you smile whenever she does the simplest of actions as she’s way adorable to be true.
You’re just glad that the alcohol that you took earlier didn’t kick in hard. She may have noticed it—as the hint of Soju on the smell of your breath says enough—yet you doubted it. You just slipped off those thoughts as you laid down on the couch, planting a wide grin on your face, you whispered to yourself, “Ah Hayoung, and the things you do to me…”

It’s still raining outside yet it’s not the torrential intensity unlike earlier. The cold breeze can be felt brushing on your arms and it sets up the best mood to be relaxed and to have the time for yourself, or even with someone special.
You just finished brushing your teeth and cleaning the table as your body dropped on the couch as you just wanted to rest yet a black-haired figure pounces beside you, refraining you from fulfilling what you want..
“Hey…”
“What?”
“Don’t you want to watch a movie?”
“Ugh, I think I need to rest now, Hayoung. I’m kinda tired, sorry…”
You just wanted to rest and let your body be invigorated yet you can’t feel bad denying her offer just like that. You really want to watch with her yet your body depletes and pleads for a rest. She then held your wrist as you were baffled, looking to her right after to see her pouting face that you always love to see.
“Hey, we will watch tomorrow, alrig-”
“No, it’s not about that…”
“Then what is it?”
She gives you a reassuring smile as she steps closer to you, so close to smell the aloe vera shampoo that she used earlier. She then hugged you tightly as she buried her face onto your chest as she looked up with a cute, pouting face.
“Just stay here, please. Cuddle with me…”
A smile paints your face as you carry her onto the couch and slowly pinned her against it as you fulfill what she wants—some warm cuddles with you.
“I just wanna stay like this…”
“Me too Hayoung…”
You then kissed her forehead as you whispered the words: “I love you, Hayoung.”
“I love you too…”
The night is still early for the both of you yet and feels like there’s a lot to do yet you wanted to stay like this—you just wanted to be relaxed and to feel relaxed. The night breeze blows as your bodies rival it considering how love fills the air and you’re loving every second of it.
Even if something fades between the both of you, you’ll always find a way to put it up on the light and you’ll give up everything just for her, just for Hayoung.

Sangyeon -> Jacob: Whenever there are English lyrics I don’t know, he’s very kind explaining them to me, and he looks really cool always working so hard on his singing!
Jacob -> Younghoon: Lately we’ve been shopping and practicing TikToks together. Younghoon is the same age as me but he feels like a dongsaeng too. We help each other and he’s an existence I’m thankful for. Thank you always!
Younghoon -> Hyunjae: Recently, I filmed a content video with Hyunjae. We grilled meat and I made budaejjigae, and we ate so many delicious things; the meat Hyunjae grilled was delicious. Also, let’s cherish our friendship!
Hyunjae -> Juyeon: Juyeon suggested we make a video content so we filmed it when we went to the USA. I asked him when it was going to be uploaded but apparently he hasn’t edited it yet so I want to say to him [in Japanese] “Hurry up!”.
Juyeon -> Kevin: He’s an existence that always shows earnestness. I often joke around with Kevin and I’m thankful that he always receives it well.
Kevin -> New: During ASEA 2024, there was a direction for us to wear masks, and I was supposed to hand out the masks to the members. During rehearsal and practice it was fine, but in real time I was worried because I had to wear gloves and yet was able to deliver it to New right away, so I felt then what good teamwork is.
New -> Q: I want to tell him “You’re doing well, always. Let’s maintain our relationship as good friends the way it is now.” He’s a good friend who always listens well when I need advice for my worries.
Q -> Haknyeon: I’ve gotten into Nintendo (T/N: Switch, I’m assuming?) recently and Haknyeon got into it as well so I’m glad we can play together. This year, don’t get sick and don’t get hurt and let’s work hard doing our best while promoting. Please look after me!
Haknyeon -> Sunwoo: Sunwoo is working really hard right now. Fighting!
Sunwoo -> Eric: Stop joking around! And continue to be cute as you are now! That’s all!
Eric -> Sangyeon: A while ago I wanted to talk something serious with him so after a schedule I called him and he told me to come over to the dorm. I went and we ordered galbi and some other delicious food, drank beer, and had an earnest conversation, and that was a moment that put my emotions in order.
A place you recommend in South Korea?
Sangyeon: People visiting from Japan like to eat whole chicken stew when coming to Korea, so I would recommend a restaurant that specializes in that.
Jacob: If you have the time, it would be good if you visited Jeju. The weather is nice, it’s a good place to stay, and the samgyeopsal is delicious. If you go to Jeju, make sure to eat samgyeopsal. In our team, when it comes to Jeju, we have Ju Haknyeon. (laughs)
Younghoon: I want to recommend "Daehan Gobchang". The first time I ate there, the gobchang was so delicious that I couldn’t forget the taste. I hope deobis can experience that taste as well.
Hyunjae: Myeong-dong (Myeong neighborhood) has many people and you can eat street food or shop there, so I recommend it. Even though I’ve never been there. (laughs)
Juyeon: I recommend Samcheong-dong (Samcheong neighborhood)! There are Korean-esque streets and comfortable parks as well. It’s nice to go on walks on streets where you can feel the vibes of Korea. Go for a walk. Try it once, please.
Kevin: Seongsu-dong (Seongsu neighborhood) has pretty stores and cafes, and since there are many different stores lined up, I highly recommend it to people who want to do shopping too.
New: Try going to Han River at night and cooking and eating ramyeon. There are so many different types to choose from but I particularly recommend ramyeon with broth.
Q: There is a delicious dakgalbi place called “Dalkeuro Ga” (B&D Chicken Restaurant) on Rodeo Street in Apgujeong that we used to go to all the time. We tell deobis to go there if they come to Korea even if there might be deobis who already know about it. However, it is a bit spicy, so for those who can’t handle spicy food, please keep that in mind before going. (laughs)
Haknyeon: I recommend "Cheongdamgol". It’s the real flavor of Korea!
Sunwoo: Right next to Lotte World is Seokchon Lake. The lake is nice and it’s nice to go on a walk there. You can also do shopping at Lotte World so that’s really good.
Eric: I want to recommend Seongsu-dong (Seongsu neighborhood). There are many cafes with a good ambiance and delicious food, so I think it’s a good place to eat something with friends and enjoy some dessert.
Are you strict with your Instagram or do you follow your own rules?
Sangyeon: I post things from when I’m working or a type of singing content called #singSangsong where I can showcase my vocal colors.
Jacob: I post things thinking will deobis like this pic, or this one. I hope deobis like my content! (smiles)
Younghoon: Among the pics that came out well, I post the ones that will make the fans smile when they see it.
Hyunjae: More than pics from work, I think daily life pics make people happy so I’m consciously [choosing] things that will make the fans feel good when they see it.
Juyeon: Since there are different platforms where I can talk to fans, I’m making Instagram the place where I can express myself. I want to show different things like lifestyle and my cool sides. I’m adorning myself.
Kevin: I’m using it as a picture diary. It’s images filled with records.
New: When I want to post something, I just post it freely. If a pic comes out looking good, I post it.
Q: My rule is to wait until I’ve gathered a good number of pics I like before I post. It’s hard to explain what kind of pic I like but it can take some time until I gather the pics I like [before I get to post them].
Haknyeon: I’m the kind to post much more stories than pics to the feed. Because the stories are seen only by the people who follow you, right? So I do that to induce people to follow. (laughs)
Sunwoo: I’m not very strict and I don’t think too hard about it. When I first started [my account] I had many ideas but now I think if you do it without pressure, soon enough you’ll naturally be showing your own identity. It’s hard to act cool but I’m posting pics that come out pretty.
Eric: The first thing is that my face needs to come out pretty, and the second is that I want to post things that have a vibe or a mood. You can post up to 10 pictures on Instagram, right? But I personally think 10 is too many, so I’ve been aiming for 5. But then if there’s even one more that I want to show, I always end up posting 10. (laughs)
Something you won't lose at against the other members?
Sangyeon: Tenacity and stamina!
Jacob: Big smile!
Younghoon: Height.
Hyunjae: Gaming. The other members don’t play all that much but I play often so I’m good. I’ve been playing LoL for 10 years.
Juyeon: Hand size and shamelessness. (laughs)
Kevin: I can do well with an earnest workout routine. Except for the days where I really can’t do it, I workout every day without a fault. I do it when I’m in Japan too, but the hotel doesn’t have something like a gym open 24-hours and that’s very sad. (laughs)
New: Mental arithmetic. I learned it a long time ago but I often use it well when splitting the [restaurant] bill.
Q: Long neck! (everyone laughs)
Haknyeon: The perseverance to keep doing something.
Sunwoo: Uhm… (thinking) Big eyes…? (Jacob: You have good sense! Q: You’re skilled in TikTok! Juyeon: Thick lips!) Since I’ve been acknowledged as having TikTok skills, I’ll film a TikTok later. Please look forward to it! (laughs)
Eric: Energy, and passion. I’m full of passion!
Something cute about deobis?
Sangyeon: Seeing the fans work so hard trying to speak Korean is so cute and lovely and it makes me grateful.
Jacob: During the concert, if I go near deobis, they get really surprised and shy, and that’s cute.
Younghoon: When I send messages on Bubble sometimes saying “I love you”, “I miss you”, deobis of other nationalities will answer in different languages like “I miss you” (T/N: Probably said in Japanese), or “I miss you” (English). I think that’s so lovely and so cute.
Hyunjae: The vibe of foreign deobis speaking Korean a little awkwardly is [in Japanese] cute!!
Juyeon: I think their reaction when we do cool performances at the concert is cute. They get shy or embarrassed and make faces or cover their faces. I think they’re cute when I see that.
Kevin: Be it on stage or when we communicate on Bubble, seeing them making an effort to communicate in Korean or English is cute.
New: Whenever I see slogans or signs, or decorated lighsticks, I’m like “oh, you made that at home” and think it’s really so cute. I can see especially that Japanese fans always make those.
Q: When there is a sign asking “please fire at me!” and then I do and they react like “ahhh!” and pretend to fall down (laughs) that’s really cute.
Haknyeon: Recently during a fansign a young fan in the 5th grade of middle school called me “cute” and I thought that was so cute. (laughs)
Sunwoo: Be it at fanmeetings or concerts, everyone is always cute whenever we meet.
Eric: They’re always cute no matter when, no matter where! During concerts, deobis hold up signs asking “please make a heart”, or “please give a flying kiss”. When I do that or when our eyes meet, their reaction is so great that I find it very cute.
An episode of something that happened with deobis?
Sangyeon: When the pop-up store was open in Korea, I went to buy chicken breast after a workout near the company and as I was leaving the convenience store, I ran into three Japanese fans. I was in such a natural state (T/N: in terms of appearance, not dressed up) that I got embarrassed and only said hi and ran away. (laughs) I wanted to give them an autograph but I couldn’t and I’m sorry about that.
Jacob: One time a deobi got the Korean spelling wrong on a sign with Kevin’s name and wrote “Kebongie”, and because of that we called him “Kebongie” too. (laughs) I think deobis comments when we’re live are funny. A while ago Sunwoo went live and while taking screenshots deobis wrote in comments asking him to pose in a way that would make it look like his eyebrows were connected and I thought that was so hilarious.
Younghoon: I’ve posted so many pics of Bori, my dog, that one day my mom and my older brother were walking with Bori and someone recognized her and greeted my mom.
Hyunjae: Japanese deobis write our names in Korean for slogans but there has been times when they got it wrong. For example, “Hyunjae” written as “Hunjae”, “Hyunje”, and “Kevin” as “Kebongie”, and those things are so cute and fun, so I want to cheer them on.
Juyeon: During the encore concert, everyone sang [for the fan event], right? Deobis sang the main parts together so loudly but the parts of the lyrics that they didn’t know they just hummed or pretend to sing and that was so cute that it was funny. (laughs)
Kevin: The fans made signs with our faces spinning and seeing that shared through videos was fun. I came across the Japanese tour in many places.
New: All the fans we meet during concerts stay in my memory.
Q: There was one time when a fan’s sign read “Kebongie” instead of “Kevin”. Even Kevin liked it and went “As expected of someone who’s my fan, that’s cute”. (laughs) More than funny, deobis are cute. Also when we did a nationwide Japan tour, deobis would say to us “see you tomorrow~!” and that was fun. It’s cute to feel like you’re meeting neighborhood friends.
Haknyeon: I heard that when my mom attended our concert in the past, the fans told her “thank you for giving birth to Haknyeon”. (laughs)
Sunwoo: During a Japanese performance, one of Kevin’s fans was holding a sign with his name but it wasn’t “Kevin”, it was “Kebongie” and that was funny and cute. (everyone laughs) But even then, the things deobis do for us are all cute, so more than funny, everything is cute.
Eric: My mom went to the concert and the fans noticed that, so they gave her many slogans and handwritten letters. It was a bit special so it’s something I’m thankful for.
What does THE BOYZ think of their relationship with deobis?
Sangyeon: Deobis always listen to the new songs we release, right? I hope when they’re spending a good time with friends they can be happy with that song, since I believe that’s what it means to achieve success with our work. I hope they can find more happiness through us and that they can keep cheering us on.
Jacob: They are precious colleagues. I want to take care of them, make them happy, and I hope they’re always happy.
Younghoon: On weekdays, waking up, studying, and coming home is exhausting, right? So I hope we can be the kind of existence that will give deobis strength during those times, be it through our videos or our music. Actually, hearing “thanks to THE BOYZ, I felt strong” gives me strength too and [motivates me to] work even harder. I want our relationship to be one where we don’t get tired of each other and are able to work hard together.
Hyunjae: There are many people who get really nervous or can’t say everything they prepared to say when meeting us, but I hope you will think of us as oppas who are like your close friends. You don’t need to feel nervous, it's ok!
Juyeon: We will keep supporting and taking care of each other. I think of it as that kind of relationship.
Kevin: I hope we can become the kind of relationship where we support each other and even in hard circumstances can overcome it thanks to exch other’s existence.
New: I hope we can have a relationship where we can trust each other.
Q: Best friend! Sharing many things, laughing, crying, a colleague or a friend you can open your heart to. That’s how I think of our relationship.
Haknyeon: I think of it in terms of hoping that we can become an existence that is a source of strength when life gets hard.
Sunwoo: A mom. Family that takes care of you!
Eric: I really like our current relationship with deobis and I hope we can continue to keep it that way forever. And I hope deobis won’t neglect their own lives and will live healthily by studying and working diligently as well.

Harry wasn’t found of you either, he hated how stuck up you were— you were a damn goodie two shoes who just wouldn’t bend. It was a little past 11pm when you woke up in pain. Your period had started this morning and the cramps were so bad thats you had stayed in bed all day. You weren't able to find a comfortable position to sleep because every part of your body was hurting. You decided that a hot shower and some pain meds would be the greatest combo right now. When you got out of bed you saw a little stain of period blood on the sweatpants you borrowed and the sheet.
'fuck fuck fuck' you sighed.
You were staying at your bf's place for the weekend because he was out of town. You were watching his dog because he had a big show tonight. Even tho you've been together for a few months, staining your boyfriends sheet AND sweatpants was never nice. So you took them off the bed and start a laundry run so they could be clean for when he come home in the morning. Bam was sleeping on the floor, unbothered by all your emotions. Because you weren't just hurting from your period but your feelings were a thousand times stronger so you were crying because you felt so bad.
After taking a shower (and cry all the water out of your body) you put on some legging from your bag and a hoodie from your bf wardrobe and decided to go sleep on the couch so you didn't stain his mastress. You'll just make the bed in the morning, when you'll feel better.
Except that the pain meds knock you out, and you wake-up on the couch, with JungKook hands on your forehead.
'hey, what are you doing on the couch? is my bed not comfy enough? are you sick?' his soft voice murmured.
And then your eyes filled up with tears. And you start to cry like a baby. Again.
'No... I'm- I'm on my period, and i stain your sheet... I'm so sorry i must have felt asleep when they were in the dryer. I'm sorry Kook, I'll buy new one okay?'
He took a deep breath, not to laugh about all those cru for what seems like nothing for him. He layed beside you and hug you with his strong arms. His hand stroking your hair.
'Hey babe, it's okay. It's human. It happens. Don't worry about the sheet okay? Do you need some pain meds or do you want to take a hot shower to ease your cramps? Something to eat?'
You let out a little sniff, trying to ease the tears with some deep breaths.
'I-I... I stain your sweatpants too. I'm sorryyy..'
You couldn't be angry at the little laugh escaping his lips because, even tho you were crying. You know how stupid it was from you to cry over this. But the tears were just not ready to leave yet.
He lowered his hand on your thighs amd felt your legging.
'Babe, is it why you're aleeping with leggings on? It must not be comfy? You always had my clothes on when you're here. Let's go. Let's get you all freshen up and in my clothes. You'll be more comfy okay.'
Seeing that you weren't moving from the couch, he just lift you, like the princess you were and bring you to the bathroom.
'I'm really pathetic right?' A little laugh got out of your mouth.
'I mean, i can't really understand how you feel but yes it's a little funny to see you like this. But it's okay, don't worry about the sheets or my clothes.'
Kook smiled at you and kissed your forehead. 'Now go in the shower and i'll get you a hot towel and some comfy clothes okay?'
Half an hour has past when you got out of the shower, all freshen up and feeling a little bit better. You uterus was still hurting and you're belly all bloated but some pain meds would do the trick for today. You put on the black sweatpants and the purple hoodie Kookie gave you and got out to find him in the kitchen, cooking some korean chicken porridge, the perfect meal when someone is sick.
'So how about that, we eat and watch your favorite tvshow and after that cuddle all day long in my fresh clean bed with a little belly massage so you feel better?'
You go in the kitchen and decided to hug him like a needy little koala. He lowered the heat from the stove top and turn to you so he can hug you. His arms goes around your shoulder and he kissed the top of your head.
'It sounds amazing.' You said.
'Perfect, I love you my little bear'
'I love you too Kookie'

“Chicken and croffles” I had flashbacks at that man. There’s this person I watch and they were telling their story of trying to rizz someone through food, and by rizz I mean they tried to impress an attractive waiter, but fumbled a bit and ordered chicken and waffles. He got so nervous they ordered the first thing he saw, which was chicken and waffles. How attractive was this waiter? So attractive that his friends literally had to warn them and also tried to clean him up a bit to look more presentable LMAO
Really liked this chapter!!! Love the sceneries and how Miles and “Ray Paynt” interacted!!!! Something about how you write feels real, like even in the little things with Miles’ “It’s a choice.” And when dragging him along to the cafe at an unexpected notice. WAIT OKAY STORY TIME BECAUSE IVE GOT ONE OF MY OWN:
So i recently went to korea in june and i went with 2 other friends who went to queue up at the NIKE store in the morning for their customization stuff right? So I wake up later and i go grab a coffee first at this store my friend recommended because it's cheap + rly good.
As such, I casually stroll along the street with my earbuds in bc im cool and swag and feeling myself right? I finally find this coffee shop and step up to the counter to order, except what do i see?
A GORGEOUS, STUNNING GIRL MANNING THE CASHIER.
At this point i am in full blown panic. I have never met anyone so pretty in my life. Her hair was silky smooth and dyed a light platinum-ish shade, and her makeup was flawless. her skin? dewy like a morning glory in bloom. Her entire figure and being? goddesslike.
at this point i am sweating buckets just from the thought of talking to her. but it's fine, right? its just a cup of coffee. i can do this.
i then proceed to ABSOLUTELY FUMBLE MY WORDS.
I just wanted this pretty drink called a franobe guys. thats all i wanted. but i got so shy and she couldnt hear me saying franobe so she kept going 'ah, latte?' and guys. i almost died on the spot.
I repeated it like 2x before she got what i was trying to say. Quick PSA that i am not fluent in korean at all, and understand more than i can speak. she asks me something in korean and i just go 'ne?' with wideass eyes like id just seen my newborn child or some shit.
anyway i finally manage to pay and get my drink and i walk away with my head practically in my hands. up till this day i am paranoid she thinks im an idiot. this is my chicken and croffles story for all you guys out there.
also im straight but this is one of the rare exceptions i lost my composure fr. what can i say? im w e ak.
im really glad you liked this chapter !! if it's one trait i could've given my characters or reader oc its the endless funds to go cafe hopping. cafe hopping is so, so fun, but so, so expensive like goddamn let me live my main character life in peace fr....

“How is this ‘pale skin’! It’s not me!”
This sandwich was quite tasty. I didn’t know what kind of meat it was, but it tasted similar to chicken thigh meat while being a bit more chewy, and went well with the sweet-and-spicy marinade. The bread, despite being the factory-packaged kind, was soft and moist. Only, had the greens included been the lettuce from our world, it might’ve been a bit better.
‘So dark hair and dark eyes are rarities around here, huh.’
Perhaps because hair could be dyed, a few still caught my eye on occasion, but the eyes seemed to be primarily blue or green. The skin color tended to range darker than a Korean’s as well. I’d broken out in goosebumps, a bit, when he’d gone on about fair skin and delicate whatever, but if it had been mentioned in juxtaposition, then that was something I could acknowledge.
Perched on the ledge of a raised garden bed(1) along the road, I finished the rest of my sandwich. Of course, the camouflaging Skill was still active.
‘The sense of fealty these citizens have is pretty high.’
Though it might’ve been because of the bounty, too, everyone seemed to be closely investigating everyone else passing by. That knockoff Hyunjae bastard, why had he issued only a simple arrest order, when he was aware that I had a camouflaging Skill that was around S-rank. If they weren’t an SS-rank, it would be difficult to find me.
‘Like this, it’ll be difficult for you to live normally in the city, so crawl back of your own volition, is that what this is.’
Or, it might be that he was angling for the moment that my mana ran out, too. Since this place didn’t have mana potions. But, in my inventory, there were mana potions aplenty. Since, when I went into a Dungeon with S-ranks, the only thing I really needed to pack were mana potions. But instead of underestimating Dungeons, I should’ve been more judicious in my preparations, and packed more liberally to include a weapon, too. And a tent, and bedding.
‘Let’s try and unpack this.’
To leave this place, we had to raid the Dungeon. To learn the means by which the Dungeon could be attacked, I had to install disks at five individual locations in order to re-establish contact with the Newcomer.
The problem was, there was a high chance that each of those five disk installation locations were scattered in different cities. The cities appeared to be protected by a barrier, and roving outside of those barriers were monsters. In order to travel to another city, an S-rank Guard’s protection was necessary.
And lastly, the counterfeit that I had taken for Sung Hyunjae had issued a red notice on my head.
‘Using the camouflaging Skill, I should be able to make it to another city, but the problem is that I don’t know how far that might be.’
The drama had mentioned readying a truck, so it seemed like it would be quite a far distance to cover with just my two feet. So I’d need a vehicle of some kind, after all.
Acquire a vehicle with a camouflaging Skill installed, and then escape beyond the barrier wall.
…how was I supposed to do that. Right now, from my position.
‘It would’ve been nice to have just been dropped into Achates City from the get-go.’
I could’ve met up with Yoohyunie immediately, then installed the first disk straightaway. And if he’d made it into an SS-rank Guard’s body, then he should have a sizable fortune too, so we could have a vehicle prepared and then travel together to the other cities to easily take care of installing the other disks. And since communications between cities shouldn’t be impossible, it would’ve become way easier to track down the other party members, too.
Indubitably, that Sung Hyunjae guy being a counterfeit was the source of all my problems. Goddamn Sung Hyunjae. Where did the real one go, the actual copy.

I might lack strength, but I had wits and experience. Even if the realistic handicap applied by being a C-rank meant that, no matter how hard I might struggle, I still wouldn’t be able to close the gap with a SS-rank, it wasn’t to the point that I’d go down without a fight. I’d already shredded the hem of your clothes, hadn’t I.
Now, then. How should I go about this.
The gears in my head turning as I watched the people on the street pass by, I got up from my seat.
Dotted along the street at intervals were public phone booths. They weren’t ordinary phone booths, however. Apparently doubling as a kind of emergency shelter, it had thick walls that completely blocked out the outside, and a sturdy door besides. Additionally, attached to the front of the door, in large letters, was–

–a poster, with text that read so. When monsters were the ones in question, well, if there was one that had managed to escape being exterminated during the night, reporting it was a reasonable expectation, but what was with ‘suspicious Awakened’. Did this place have a more draconian Awakened management system in place than I’d thought.
Once there was no one else nearby, I slipped into the phone booth and closed the door. A light automatically flickered on. The public phone booth was outfitted with a touchscreen, as well as a security camera. The security camera had wireless capabilities. It seemed that it was provided with the intention of being used to capture footage of the monster or suspicious Awakened in question.
After turning the security camera around so that I wouldn’t show up.
‘11G.’
I pressed the City Defense Outpost tips hotline number.
[ ‘The citizens’ benevolent guardian’, this is the City Defense Outpost. You have been added to our queue, so please hold for just a moment. ]
Was there an influx of people calling reports in because of me. Soon, this is the City Defense Outpost, came a male voice. The employee’s face appeared on the screen.
“Hello, thank you for your hard work~ I’m calling about none other than the C-rank Awakened that Sigma-nim is searching for, having succeeded in capturing him alive.”
[ Pardon? You’ve captured him alive? ]
“Yes. With nary a scratch, he’s been captured in pristine condition.”
I’m doing very well here, you see. Other than my throat being a tad dry from having to eat the sandwich without a drink, I’m perfectly fine. I wanted to drink something refreshing and carbonated.
“Only, maybe because he was thinking to throw people off his trail, he wasn’t wearing any earrings. So, to prevent raising a false positive, I’d like to receive a confirmation on his face.”
[ Ah, verification. Please wait just a moment. ]
With the City Defense Outpost worker’s words, the screen abruptly turned black.
Who else would that side have that knew my face, other than Sigma-ssi himself. There were those fodder that I had run into along the way, but the likelihood of them coming forward as having come across me was low. For one, they’d tried to put their hands on an Awakened that had purportedly been due to become part of Sigma-nim’s faction. They’d likely be laying low, if only out of fear of retaliation.
How should I go about it, if they said that there was no need for verification, and to just bring me in straightaway. While I was coming up with a handful of excuses.
[ You’ve forfeited quicker than I’d anticipated. ]
A low, weighty voice rang in my ears. With it, the black screen brightened once more. A familiar face. It was that damn knockoff. Because I hadn’t expected to be reconnected like this so suddenly, the words stuck in my throat for a second.
[ C-rank. ]
“...yes, I’m that C-rank. You seem to be quite carefree. Being able to pick up the phone so quickly like this.”
At my words, the corner of the counterfeit’s mouth twitched up into a crooked smile.
[ Would a veteran Awakened with an S-rank camouflaging Skill be captured this quickly. ]
“It may have been a fake call-in, with the aim of taking the reward.”
[ It seems unlikely that there would be a Guard so audacious, but I'll verify it nevertheless. Show your face. ]
“Yes, yes.”
Following the command, I turned the camera back toward me. I even displayed a ‘V’ with my fingers.
“You’ve verified clearly enough, I presume? The C-rank you wanted, I’ve captured him in perfect health. His condition is very good. Lively, even.”
Having confirmed my identity, the bastard’s face settled back into a detached vagueness. Yeah, that’s right. It seemed that having caught me too easily had made the whole business lose its luster for him. If I were to meekly crawl back on my own like this, I’d simply be put to work for my camouflaging Skill, and that would be that.
Though using the opportunity created by the lapse in interest wouldn’t be too bad, either.
“I would be coming in under your organization, you’d said?”
[ For now. ]
“I will be taking leave until tonight.”
Taking vacation time as soon as you got hired on, I’d been wanting to try it at least once.
“So, please make a correctional broadcast to announce that I’ve been found, first. So I’ll be able to go sightseeing while at ease.”
[ Aren’t you planning on using that opportunity to escape. ]
The voice that carried over from beyond the receiver carried a hint of interest once more.
“I’ll be wandering about in the open, without the camouflaging Skill, so please don’t worry about that. Once the sun sets, do make sure to bring the hundred million L to the promised location, prepared so that it can immediately be transferred into my card. Since I ‘caught him’, it’s my money, is it not.”
[ You’ve still a dearth of fear, I see. ]
“Nor does a reason for me to be afraid exist. SS-rank-nim–you who seems to have lived your fill of all that the world has to offer already–the one who should be feeling anxious here isn’t me, but you.”
You’re bored to death, aren’t you, by living. If the counterfeit copy here was immersed in a deeper ennui than the Sung Hyunjae I knew, it wasn’t hard to imagine the leniency he might permit himself to be in his dealings with me.
“If you meekly follow my directives, then I’ll be sure to compensate you handsomely. It’ll be entertaining, for certain.”
Beyond the frame, golden eyes grew narrow. Though he wasn’t actually in front of me, and was, in fact, a far ways away, a faint chill still crawled down my spine.
If I didn’t measure up to his standards, then that bastard would be more than happy to snap my neck without hesitation. Unlike Nugu-ssi(2), whose whereabouts were still unknown. Here, I didn’t have any sort of connections, and capped out at just ‘a C-rank with good Skills’. If he wasn’t satisfied, then he would likely easily crush me underfoot, then depart after erasing every trace from his mind.
[ I only hope that you won’t disappoint. With my anticipation so fanned, if things were to end in mere skullduggery, I feel that I may get somewhat irritable, for the first time in a while. ]
“Do refrain from being surprised, rather.”
After conveying the exact location and time, I hung up. It was only because I had five lives, that I could attempt something like this.
At any rate, the bait was all set. Now then, it was time for a brief, but enjoyable occasion.

“Please bring out the most expensive and delicious menu item here~”
I requested, walking into an expensive-looking restaurant and sitting down. When faced with my self-assured bearing, the wait staff took down my order without a hint of suspicion, and after a bit of time had passed, the food was brought to me. I asked for a cold beverage as well.
Sipping on a drink that was similar to lemonade, I began to eat. The unidentifiable meat gently melted in my mouth. The wide, flat pasta soaked up the perfect amount of sauce, while still boasting a chewy, tender texture. The soup that had been brought out alongside was just spicy enough, with a refreshing aftertaste.
Since it was a completely different world, I’d wondered if it would happen to suit my tastes, but the seasoning tasted just right, and above all, the dish being simple and clean worked in its favor. Maybe because this was an expensive place, it was tasty. The menu prices I’d gotten a glance at had numbered in the several tens of thousands.
I thriftily polished off the greens as well, and drank the last of the cup of lemonade. As I approached the counter, the restaurant owner, as well as the staff all openly stared at me. A very familiar face, no?
“You may have already heard, but I’m the C-rank Guard that’s been newly inducted into Sigma-nim’s ranks.”
“Ah, as we’d thought!”
“I’d received leave to look around the city this morning, during the day, but it appears to have been processed incorrectly, resulting in my being mistakenly labeled as an escapee, and then that broadcast happened to go out, too.”
Ha ha ha, the restaurant owner and the staff all smiled in reciprocation as I laughed. They all seemed to have caught the correction that had aired.
“Please send the bill for the food to Sigma-nim. That’s what he’d instructed me to do. That should be alright, I hope?”
“Of course! Seeing as how he was willing to stake one billion L as a reward, Sigma-nim appears to care about Guard-nim a great deal.”
“I’ve some fairly outstanding specialty Skills, you see. In fact, Sigma-nim even personally! asked me to come onboard.”
It wasn’t a lie. Technically, it was the truth. Even after partaking in a free meal, while receiving beseechments of we’ll be leaving the city’s care to you going forward from the restaurant owner and staff, I departed from the restaurant.
Now that my stomach was nicely filled, then next should be.
“Please send the bill to Sigma-nim!”
With one sentence, I was able to step foot in the most luxurious specialty rooms offered by the hotel. I wanted to just sprawl out and laze about, but in preparation for the hardships that lay ahead, I washed up and brushed my teeth, then packed up the toothbrush, toothpaste, and et cetera. Since my body was the real thing, I’d have to take good care of it.
Feeling saddened as I wondered when I’d be able to shower with hot water next, I headed back out to the streets and, hailing a car that looked to be a taxi, climbed inside. This time as well, I left things to Sigma-nim. Sigma-ssi, your reputation might take a slight uptick.
The place I arrived at via taxi was a Guard-use department center. Similar to a Hunter market, it was a place that sold Items that could be carried within an inventory. The moment I stepped inside, the employees and Guard patrons’ eyes snapped towards me in unison. At the piercing stares, I gave a bright, sunny smile.
“How do you do~ I’m the C-rank Guard that’s been newly recruited to Sigma-nim’s organization! The one that showed up on broadcast, that very! C-rank.”
Hello, everyone. Hi, hello. At my words, a staff member hurriedly approached me and bowed their head.
“Welcome, dear customer. What might you be looking for?”
“I’m just about to begin doing Guard work, and so. I’d like to look at as many different pieces of equipment as possible. Could I ask you to give preference to the higher-ranked articles, with your recommendations? Ah, and please send the bill for the equipment costs to Sigma-nim. He mentioned that I should freely shop as I wished.”
“Yes, understood. Please come this way.”
The staff member kindly led the way deeper into the shopping mall. Sitting in the VIP room, I opened the inventory catalog with a thumping heart. There were some Items that were similar to the ones that existed in our world, but there were more that I was seeing for the first time, than not. That this place didn’t sell equipment higher than S-rank by retail means was a pity. Still, there were at least other S-rank Items that weren’t equip-types.
Without paying any attention to something like a price tag, I slowly scanned through them by ability.
“What’s this ‘inside bag,’ here?”
Why was a bag graded at S-rank.
“It is a bag that is capable of reducing the volume and weight of the items placed within in. It is capable of accommodating up to five times its apparent volume, and the weight is reduced to one fifth as well. As it’s a daily-use product that can hold regular items, and not just items infused with magical energy, it’s a very popular product. Only, it cannot be placed into the inventory while holding ordinary objects.”
Saying that there was exactly one left, they proactively pushed their sales pitch. Wow, so there was something like that too. Was it possible to take the Items I’d bought here back with me outside. I wanted to take it with me.
I promptly purchased a bag that was purportedly popular among the high-rank Guards, for fifty million L nonetheless. In Korean currency, it would probably be about six hundred million. Of course, Sigma-nim would be the one paying for it again.
“Please show me the dagger-types as well. The high-grade ones.”
Knives graded A-rank were laid out in rows before me. I picked five different knives, each with its own distinct effect and shape, and packed all of them. Another tens of millions in L drained away in an instant.
I picked up a higher-grade wire, and thinking of the inventory space, gave up on the tent but bought a sleeping roll, and purchased the trap package as well. The funding ostensibly provided by the reward money for my live capture had already run out earlier on, but that was hardly something I needed to concern myself with.
“Hunter–no, there’s Guard-use clothes as well, correct?”
Perhaps because the Guards here were active primarily at night, most of the clothes were offered in dark colors. Just in case, I bought a top-and-bottom set, as well as a pair of shoes and gloves. Outside of those, I picked up this and that, enough to fill up the rest, and left just enough space for inventory use.
I didn’t know the precise number, but it seemed like I’d spent several billion in Korean money.
Just then, the message window flashed into view.

What, a hidden quest? Retreating into the bathroom, I opened the quest window. The quests that had been unlocked were not one, but two.

Holy shit, what was all this! Sigma-nim, thank you very much, o’ dearly beloved! Hooray for quests! I quickly accepted the ‘King of Shopping’ quest rewards first. A hundred thousand points wasn’t bad, but to think, an S-rank Point Shop exchange coupon. S-rank Items started at tens of thousands of points, minimum, but I could use the voucher to change for any of them. Ah, my heart felt aflutter. Would there be an SS-rank exchange coupon, perhaps. Just thinking about it was making my heart beat faster.
I then collected the rewards for the ‘Swindled Billion Plus’ quest, too. As expected, a hundred thousand points, a fake ID, and the Golden Leopard Cat’s Shoes were delivered into my hands.

This was useful as well. Even if the rank average was higher here than in our world, an S-rank still shouldn’t be commonplace, and regular institutions and the thoroughfares that connected the cities(3) should still be guarded by A-rank and below.

The Golden Leopard Cat’s Shoes, which was an S-rank equip, was a black pair of slender, flatteringly cut combat boots. I’d been wondering why it was called ‘Golden,’ and as it turned out.
‘...the soles of the shoes are coloured gold.’
Was it perhaps that. Kitty toe beans. I suddenly wanted to see Peace.
Just like the Black Leopard Cat’s Jacket, the Golden Leopard Cat’s Shoes had an agility-related stat attached to it too. The Skill option was ‘Adroit Adhesion’. It was a Skill that made it possible to walk on a vertical wall as though it was horizontal, and even across ceilings.
‘Could this actually be a set Item.’
Up to two, it could’ve just overlapped, but now that a third had popped out, it was suspicious. Gloves and a bracelet, or necklace, etc., would there be more of a Leopard Cat series. And if I collected them all, it would activate a set buff effect?
Since the S-rank boots were superior to the new shoes I had bought, I immediately swapped them out. Though I’d been wondering if the golden sole wouldn’t stand out too much, once I was wearing them, they faded to a dark black. It seemed like covert special operations equipment, so it wouldn’t do to have it flashing gold.
‘I got a bunch of Item shopping done~ And gained a piece of S-rank equipment as well~’
And in fact, if you added the Point Shop exchange coupon, then it was two. I’d have to keep the exchange coupon safely sequestered away, and then buy Yoohyunie or Yerimie a piece of equipment they needed.

I left the department store happily, with the store staff seeing me off. Getting into another taxi, this time, the place I headed to this time was a district located on the outskirts of the city.
The closer we got to the edge of town, the more coarse the roads became. After driving for quite a while, the place we arrived at was sealed off by a high barrier that obstructed the way forward. The dizzying height was substantial enough that even an S-rank Awakened wouldn’t be able to jump over it in one go, and a surveillance tower with a large-scale weapon attached was set up at intervals at the top as well.
“This area is dangerous, so please don’t wander about by yourself.”
The taxi driver implored with a concerned expression. They’d been extremely reluctant to even drive over in this direction, to begin with. Since the occasional flying-type monster would wander out over to the areas near the barrier, unless you were destitute, you wouldn’t live in the vicinity.
Sending away the taxi, I approached the watchtower entrance. The B-rank Guard that was standing vigil at the entryway looked over at me.
“Hello, I’m here because Sigma-nim recommended that I take a tour of the barrier wall. Would it be alright if I took a quick look?”
“Yes, of course. Please come this way.”
Maybe because I was a part of that oh-so-great Sigma-nim’s organization, they were cordial even with me, a C-rank, as the other party. Following the B-rank Guard, I got onto an elevator and rode it all the way to the top of the watchtower. I approached the glass exterior of the disk-shaped observation deck.(4)
A wide wasteland extended out, with a smattering of woods in the far distance. I couldn’t spot any trace of another city. As though this city had been dropped down in the middle of a desert, only a desolate landscape was unfurled before my eyes.
‘Yoohyun-ah, it seems I’ll have to suffer a bit on my way to come find you.’
But, even so, wait just a little bit longer. Hyung will be there soon.
