Deuteronomy 13: Moses Commands The Israelites To Not Listen To False Prophets That Want Them To Worship Other Gods
1 If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder,
2 and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,”
3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.
5 That prophet or dreamer must be put to death for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. That prophet or dreamer tried to turn you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you.
6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known,
7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other),
8 do not yield to them or listen to them. Show them no pity. Do not spare them or shield them.
9 You must certainly put them to death. Your hand must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people.
10 Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.
12 If you hear it said about one of the towns the Lord your God is giving you to live in
13 that troublemakers have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods you have not known),
14 then you must inquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly. And if it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done among you,
15 you must certainly put to the sword all who live in that town. You must destroy it completely, both its people and its livestock.
16 You are to gather all the plunder of the town into the middle of the public square and completely burn the town and all its plunder as a whole burnt offering to the Lord your God. That town is to remain a ruin forever, never to be rebuilt,
17 and none of the condemned things are to be found in your hands. Then the Lord will turn from his fierce anger, will show you mercy, and will have compassion on you. He will increase your numbers, as he promised on oath to your ancestors—
18 because you obey the Lord your God by keeping all his commands that I am giving you today and doing what is right in his eyes.

THE LAST OF US MORAL QUESTION!
People that think Joel was wrong, or that Marleen was right/Ellie would have wanted to sacrifice herself = 🚩🚩🚩
HERES WHY:
1. Let’s tackle the issue of Ellie’s agency(a theme that we’ve seen in episode 8 as well). She is a passively suicidal child. Everyone who she’s ever cared about has died. Riley. Tess. Sam. Henry. She’s desperate to make her life worth something. And she’s given a “purpose” when she realizes she’s immune. But she’s FOURTEEN!! doesn’t matter if it’s the apocalypse, a child is simply not capable of making the choice to sacrifice herself!! So even if Marleen asked (which it’s implied she didn’t) and Ellie said yes, that’s irrelevant because again she’s a fucking kid.
2. In the same vain of her being desperate and her agency, SHE DIDN’T KNOW SHE WAS GONNA HAVE TO DIE?!!! With Sam and Henry she put her blood in his bite!!! she thought it was that simple BECAUSE SHES A KID!!! So she doesn’t even know what this all means truly.
3. Marleen being so quick to sacrifice Ellie that she’s known since she was born, for a vax that MAY NOT EVEN WORK?! Is literally insane, while Joel who has known her for what…a year? Is willing to murder a dozen plus people to save her life!!! Marleen didn’t give a shit!! About Ellie, and in my opinion doesn’t even care about a cure. She just wants FEDRA gone and to go back to “normal”!
4. Okay let’s say the vax worked? (Which I have many thoughts but fine) they kill Ellie. Make a vax. THEY ARE VIEWED AS TERRORIST!!!! They would never be able to actually help people and distribute it to QZ’s. FEDRA has been in power for two decades. They like how things are going. They like being ducking nazis! Do you really think…they’d just release a cure?? And why haven’t they been working on a vaccine?? Like??? It would just be used as a political tool and it would be a mess so she would die for nothing!!!!
5. More importantly….and on a human level. Ellie saved Joel more than once’s and in more ways than just physical. Joel admits it! That is his daughter now! If you wake up after being ambushed and find out your loved one is about to be murdered for a cure that may (or may not) work? What would you do?! ESPECIALLY WITHOUT SAYING GOODBYE? like let’s not pretend you’d let these random people kill the light of your life, and you’d just walk way??? No.
Joel couldn’t save Sarah, but he could save Ellie so he did! ARGUE WITH YOUR MOTHER!
Ps. Joel is also justified in killing Marlene because he was right. She would have just come after ellie. Like she’s just be a target! But he shouldn’t have lied to ellie about it. I understand why he did though.

I hate how tumblr praises Mao Zedong without ever critically thinking about his impact- or even flat out denying the awful things that happened under him
People like to bring up that his policies helped alleviate nationwide famine- which was caused by Mao in the first place. During the Great Leap Forward when peasants were forced to work and then had all the grain they produced taken because it was now government property(similar to a US supreme court decision btw). Local officials who ran the communes (police) would beat peasants and force them to work injured. The food produced by chinese villagers wasn't equally distributed, it sold as surplus (that didn't exist). This doesn't even go into how Mao decided to divest labor into steel production instead of agriculture
Then we come to what people now know Mao for, the Cultural Revolution. Under the idea of destroying anything 'old', people and their belongings and culture were tortured and killed. Again, I don't mean just the wealthy. A common target was ethnic minorities, as the Cultural Revolution was about assimilation
There is a reason that what is probably the most famous incident of violence took place in Guangxi, which is near Vietnam. Mao's officers seized control and in response to the local's 'resistance' committed a several years long massacre. The CCP endorsed ritualistic cannibalism in the area. In an region that was populated by an ethnic minority (Zhuang ppl, instead of Han) the officers did what they believed was necessary for a communist future- which in my opinion was thinly veiled genocide.
Like Stalin, Mao got rid of anyone who was against him by calling them bourgeoisie- which included peasants.
Don't get me wrong, Mao had more sympathy and compassion than any US president I have seen. He was a friend to Vietnam and Palestine as western countries invaded them. Getting rid of landlords was a massive win. He stood by MLK jr. and black americans during the civil rights era. He worked to give women the opportunities they had been denied. He banned child-marriage.
But he was a cult of personality and his leadership got hundreds of thousands of people killed.

For @bisexualricks ask game :)
1. Top 5 favorite episodes and why
- Rest and Ricklaxation - it’s a pretty fun episode and has some of my favorite versions of Rick and Morty! It’s really the first time we get a clear confirmation that Rick does care about Morty a lot more than he pretends to. Also Detox Morty is goofy and a hyper mess, like he could not sit still when he went to dinner with Jessica and I love him so much for that little detail
- Unmortricken - I had trouble between picking this or Fear No Mort, but I had to pick Unmortricken for a few different reasons. First of all, Evil Morty finally gets more screen time. Evil Rick finally gets more screen time. Rick Prime finally gets more screen time. Also there were definitely some implications of EMorty wanting to friends with Morty but in deep denial abt it. He looked sad while in his snow globe… also everything that happened with prime, and Rick needing a lot more therapy and feeling empty even tho he got his long awaited revenge.
- Look Who’s Purging Now - Morty being bad ass Morty being bad ass Morty being bad ass Morty being bad ass Morty being bad a
- Total Rickall - it’s another fun episode where Morty also takes charge and kicks ass. Cuz let bffr if Morty hadn’t figured out the bit with it only being happy memories the family would’ve been screwed. Also it was the first time that the show had confirmation of supporting LGBTQ with Jerry and Sleepy Gary (if only he had been real and not a parasite)
- Get Schwifty - firstly, the debut of the president who has been a pretty fun character throughout the show! Also it explores a lot of Rick and Morty’s relationship and how Rick does really care about him and can be kind of hopeless without Morty around. Also that scene where Morty is with BP and there’s the picture of Rick holding up Morty as a baby and looking insanely happy at having a grandson
There are a lot more episodes that I love, like the heist one, Fear No Mort, and Rickfending Your Mort! But these were just the first ones that came to mind
