It was almost auttum the leaves began to change slowly as if they were painted one by one , the air began to became cold and crisp. That night  Mabel was having a nasty fight with her batshit crazy abusive religious mother greta. Greta growled, 

The  Fifty one year old woman began hurling verbal insults at her daughter. "I've done so much for  but You've never shown any appreciation!" She screamed. mabel laughed sarcasticly before giving her a cold look. 

" done so much for me!!? You've never done shit for me or my siblings you and father  made our lives hell through out my whole fucking child hood!! You've lied about Michael cutting contact with us when he was dead because of the fucking war!! And when i was young i was isolated from the outside world only going out to church, school anf you would lock me in my room and you did the same to my brothers!!"  shouted Mabel in return. Greta's eyes widen as she gritted her teeth in rage. "Dont  you dare yell at me with that blasphemous tone and sinful words!"    hissed Greta  " You will never amount to anything in the eyes of god and none  of you and your worthless siblings!! Will!!" She hissed

" that is a lie!! I will succeed in life i will be someone!! and my brothers are successful in their own right!! and we don't have to fucking listen to you anymore!!

Greta slapped mabel across the face roughly " enough!!" greta hissed. the sixteen year old didn't wince she had a red mark on her cheek she glared at her.

" I've gotten used to your strikes... But i wont cry not this time mother... " mabel said coldly. Gretas eyes widen.

 " why cant you be gratefull. For the things ive done for you i taught you to avoid the sinful temptations! Yet you defy me!,  You only care about yourself!! you are SO selfish!!!" Greta hissed  Mabel's eyes widen tears in her eyes but mabel growled. " selfish!?!  You've never loved us and treated us badly and use your religion as a excuse!! You hated me since father left and you are calling me selfish!?! Like i said  I am pretty fucking sick of listening to you!  Im marrying roy to escape from your fucking cruelty!" Mabel grabbed her luggage of personal items and stormed out slamming the door.

Two weeks later she and roy were married. mabel was sixteen at the time and he was 19 which was a big mistake.

jamie purposely wearing lynx around roy just to annoy him is so funny but i also think about that post where jamie’s probably attached to the brand because of his upbringing in the council estate, and that being the most affordable brand for him growing up. and how scents can be specifically tied to memories etc. can’t wait for the tinsel fic!

Oh yeah absolutely that’s a holdover from his teenage years. I just knowww those academy dressing rooms are dank with the smell of many a 16 yr old’s Lynx 😭

After the season aired we had a really good discussion in the Discord about Roy & Jamie’s different perceptions of money and being rich and how much that’s effected/warped by their shared combination of growing up poor and then coming into a LOT of money pretty suddenly as a young adult. You can really see it in that one scene is s2(?) where Keeley tells Roy she’s getting a bottle of wine at Waitrose and Roy’s like woah are you the fucking queen? meanwhile the man is driving around his expensive car living in his posh neighborhood losing designer watches left and right like they’re nothing.

Like, I think they both can spend an outrageous amount of money on certain things (a rich person’s ~little treat~ lol) but scoff at the prices of the most random things because who on earth would pay that for that. And the things that fit into each category are different for each of them!

And honestly Jamie seems the more “frugal” of the two of them. I swear someone told me his sports car is an older model where they were pretty sure he would’ve bought it used? I might be making that up it was a while ago but I’m PRETTY SURE. Also he occasionally wears brands/clothes that are very close to regular-people-affordable as opposed to say, Keeley almost exclusively in her Versace, lmao. So I can definitely see him looking at perfumes/colognes and being like. Why would I buy this when Lynx (😭).

Meanwhile for whatever reason I think Roy is the sort of person to buy Keeley louboutins one day and then snap at her the next for leaving the light on in the bedroom as she’s applying makeup in the en-suite because it’s driving up their electricity bill 😅
