Announcement!

Exciting news everyone!

We will be starting a She-Ra and the Princesses of Power episode tournament on this blog! (Inspired by @theowritesfiction’s awesome polls, the BTVS one is still going on, check it out if you’re interested!) Every SPOP episode has been randomly put into a bracket and you wonderful people will vote to determine the best episode!

The first polls round of polls will go up later today (as soon as enough people see this post) and you’ll be able to vote for a week before the next round starts. Before we begin, there are a number of randomly selected episodes that are automatically in the second round because 52 is a lousy number for a bracket. I tried and failed to find a bracket without so many automatic advances. Those episodes are:

It just so happens that most of these episodes are (in my opinion) quite popular and probably would have advanced anyway, and I did remake the bracket a few times to avoid any insane matchups in round 1 to the best of my ability, so we should have a pretty fair tournament.

Round 2 of SPOP Polls is Complete!

We had another successful round! This round we saw an increase in votes, with all polls getting at least 30 votes, and many going into the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Great job everyone!

Most of the choices were what I personally would have chosen, but I do want to acknowledge Hero and Destiny Part 2, both of which had INCREDIBLY tough matchups and absolutely deserve to be in round 3 in another bracket.

Round 3 is headed your way sometime in the next 12 hours, and it’s getting hard y’all. We have 8 polls in this round, and I have no idea what’s going to win any of them. As always, people will have a week to vote.

Round 1 of SPOP Polls is Complete!

We had a very successful first round, with every poll getting at least 20 votes, many getting over 30 votes, and one even getting 136! The winners have now all been determined, and will move into Round 2, along with the 12 episodes that advanced automatically due to numbers not being perfect. There are some TOUGH matchups in this round, and I’m the first to say that I’m not sure what’s going to win.

There are 16 pairs (32 episodes) in Round 2, which will go up sometime in the next 24 hours. Thanks so much to everyone who’s voted already!

I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge Taking Control, Beast Island, Pulse, Roll With It, Protocol, and The Sword, Part 2, all episodes that could have made it to round 2 had they not either been a) pitted against truly spectacular episodes/season finales or b) unfairly eliminated in a vote that I wouldn’t necessarily agree with.
