it's cool to see Jim being vulnerable like this, he always does his best to be the perfect capitan for them, almost forgetting that the weight of the responsibility for all the lives aboard the spaceship would get to everyone, even him
so it's nice to see him talking about his worries to Bones, he's actually kind of a backbone of this crew, he can be bitchy at times, but don't that fool you, he actually cares a lot about them and helps out Kirk or even Spock whenever they need it
and I love his answer (video cuz it'd be too many screenshots lmao):
I want whatever the writers were smoking in 1969 because holy fucking fuck
This episode?! Them?! THEM?!? NAHHHDISJSJS WOW
And the writers were like "yep this is good for 1969"
As they fucking should have been, I love them, I love this episode, it's gay, it's hot, it's showing that McCoy and Spock actually love eachother in their own ways (obviously,)
you guys just dont even. understand Him. hes NOT super overly sweet and affectionate with his partner(s), although he does love them very much. he reluctantly accepts a kiss on the cheek from jim, melodramatically rolling his eyes and kicking him out of the sickbay. but he looks back at jim as he walks away, a soft smile on his face and an added pep in his step for the rest of his shift.
he grumbles about "ridiculous vulcan voodoo" and makes a face as spock offers him an ozh'esta. but when their fingers touch, spock can feel the overwhelming affection underneath his icy exterior; his armor protecting him from getting hurt again.
the armor isn't going to fall off the moment he falls in love. it may not ever fall off; not all the way, at least. spock and jim aren't there to "fix" him, they're there to love him as he is. he doesn't have to outwardly express his love to show that he loves. he loves and cares deeply, all he ever wants is for everyone around him to be safe and to feel better.
I was looking at my drawing reference folder and this idea hit me like a brick. It’s been two years since I finished a comic, so I wanted to get this one done in one sitting.

Rules:
Everyone must produce 1 completed piece of work.
Digital, traditional art, fanmixes, fanvids (videos), gifs, collages, and photo edits are allowed.
You may sign up as a writer and an artist. However, you can not be the artist for your own story. (This is supposed to be a collaboration after all.)
You shouldn't try and tell the writer what they "should" write, if they want your feedback they will most likely ask for it. Just as the writers should not be telling you what to make, (unless you ask for their opinions). You should not harass the writer, as they should not be harassing you. If any issues arise that cannot be resolved, please contact a mod (host) of this event.
Fanworks minimum requirements:
Digital & traditional is at least 1 completed piece.
