I MAY KNOW WHO ALASTOR HAS A DEAL WITH. AND ITS NOT LILITH

(Theory below the cut)

SO: there is a character we BRIEFLY seen in the pilot/ep. 1 who is a big part of the lore. The name is "Roo", short for Root of All Evil.

And, the person/entity in the base form looks like a wide-smiling woman, and a tree... Right? So keep following me...

So. Lucifer gives Lilith the apple. And creates Free Will, shame, etc. Ask irl Bible thumpers. THEN: Lucifer gives the apple to Eve... and creates the first "evil" thing...

When Eve gets the apple in the episode, whether intentional or NOT:

SHES A FUCKING SIMPLE, WIDE MOUTHED FEMALE SILLOUETTE. WHO TOOK AN APPLE FROM THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE

THEREFORE: EVE IS ROO.

Now, continue: we have Alastor. Who has been raising Hell in Hell. Making a name. He wants to get further up the ranks. Decides to bark up the wrong tree. A tree that looks SUSPICIOUSLY similar to Mrs. Devil Herself...

Instead of getting in favor with Lilith... he wins the favor of Roo, who looks SUSPICIOUSLY like Lily.

Alastor crosses Roo. Roo somehow traps him, or even, MAKES HIM ACCEPT A DEAL FOR HIS SOUL. And, THIS is the reason for his absence. His presence wasn't needed, and Roo wanted to save a precious pawn/puppet. Plus, Lilith suddenly disappeared. Perfect timing for Roo to make some moves in hell. She's setting herself up, breaking down/in pawns like Alastor to do her bidding. (You gotta admit that wide smile is HARD to break... much like fucking ROO'S).

Come to present day... Morningstar's daughter is planning an uprising. Just like Momma Lily. And Roo sees this as her CHANCE. She sends Alastor, as a fake out. Most people would assume that if he IS on a leash, it's Liliths (only people like Husk would know). But it's NOT. And Al is probably there to just invoke more chaos/Calamity, or: to take down the Morningstars so ROO can usurp the throne.

...but again. Just a theory. A GAME theory

if there's one thing this last episode has affirmed for me about Alastor it's that he FUCKING HATES being reminded that he's not the most powerful creature in hell.

Like, he hates being ignored by Carmilla when she says she doesn't care why he was gone

He hates Lucifer ON SIGHT

He threatens to KILL Husk when he dares to mention that Alastor is working for someone more powerful than him

and now this.

Alastor freaking out because he almost died. Something almost killed him. He can fucking die. There is something more powerful than him out there. And it's not something he can ignore or brush off because it almost killed him.

Alastor hates the reminder that he's not as powerful as he tells people he is. He isn't indestructible, he isn't invincible. And he fucking hates that.
