The Albatross Harpy
Legends tell of great bird/cookie hybrids that used to roam the sky. Beings of the winds and symbols for mystery and fortune to sailors everywhere.
The Albatross Harpy is said to be the biggest of these creatures, and in some cultures, revered for their supposed gifts of luck.
Some dare claim if you could just catch and cage one, you'd be the luckiest sailor at sea and fortune is bound your way.
But, that is a grave misconception.
As in truth the Harpy, and furthermore, the Albatross Harpy are bringers of Karma.
They can bring wind to your sails, yes…
But they could very well send down a terrible typhoon on you and your crew.
So to lock one up… Would bring a terrible stream of misfortune to you.
Some would go so far to argue this applies to them as well.
A fair balance.

You know my color choice in fashion is im-PECK-able.
Short-tailed Albatross (Phoebastria albatrus)
North Pacific Ocean regions
Status: Vulnerable
Threats: hunted for feathers and presumed extinct in the 1940s until around 50 birds returned from sea.
Nobody knows where these guys were hiding during WW2 but somehow survivors showed up again on their breeding island of Tori-shima over a decade later.

hc one the Flags’ fav drunk activities is picking out the craziest Lippmann fanfiction they can find and then one person narrates it
(note: Chuuya is the worst narrator bc he goes “what the fuck I’m not saying that lemme skip that” every time he sees a cringey line and Iceman is the best narrator bc he’s the only one who can maintain composure and keep a level tone from start to finish)
