Has it ever occurred to you that your life might take a turn to the unexpected in the matter of seconds?
Never..
Have you even once considered the possibility of being left alone in a cruel world to fend for yourself?
Not in a million years..
Yet there you were facing new kinds of fears that you didn't even know you had.
Your eyes widened and your heart sunk in, the moment your husband's face came on the news with the word "deceased" plastered on the bottom of the TV screen.
It was a villain attack, a messy vicious one that took place near your husband's work place, but for a moment you weren't too worried since the world's symbol of peace was present to put an end to it like he always does.
But you soon came to realize that even All might's powers had their limitations when it comes to challenging death, a realization that had cost you your husband, the father to be..
You clutched your bulging tummy and picked up your phone with a shaky hand, you refused to believe what the news report suggested.
He can't be dead, he can't just leave, you two are expecting a child and he promised to hold your hand in the delivery room so you wouldn't be scared, there must be a mistake, he will answer your call and tell you himself that the bloody reporter had mentioned the wrong person.. if only he would pick up.
Your world crumbled around you as your calls went straight to voicemail.
So it was true, he was gone despite all his promises, when the day comes you will be by yourself bringing a fatherless child to this world, the bloody reporter wasn't mistaken after all..
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
You wiped the tears that kept running down your cheeks and swallowed hard as your blurry vision studied every detail of your husband's portrait placed in the center of the funeral venue. It was as if you wanted to engrave his features into your brain.
People came and left, paying their respects and wishing you the best of luck in facing life all alone, and all you could do was thank them, as a single thought circulated your brain the whole time.. would luck be enough?
You couldn't even afford to pay for the funeral services, and now that your husband is no longer with you, how are you supposed to carry on?
_ "Ms y/n, you should go home now, everyone else has already left." it was him, the man who was driven by an overwhelming sense of guilt.
_ "I want to thank you again for taking care of everything Mr all might." you had to call him by his hero name like everyone else did because that's all you knew about him.
This man— the world's symbol of peace, hadn't left your side since what happened a few weeks ago. It was nice of him, extremely so, taking care of the funeral arrangements and costs when he didn't have to do any of it, but he was guilt ridden and felt responsible for what happened.
_ "It's getting late so allow me to drive you home, besides, you shouldn't be moving carelessly in your condition." He added, eyes cautiously landing on your barely showing baby bump, and you found yourself nodding slowly as your hands rested on your tummy.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
You sincerely believed that day would be the last you and him would interact in any way. However, and for the past couple of months, he made it a habit to visit you weekly, check in on you and ask if there was anything you needed help with.
It was weird, overwhelming even.
It was his self proclaimed duty to take responsibility of you but you hated it, since seeing his face only reminded you of your loss.
It was easier for you to internally blame him for what happened to your husband than to drown in sorrow and despair, even though deep down you knew he had tried everything he could to save him..
_ "I'm really sorry Ms y/n, I never meant to make you feel uncomfortable." he took a step further away from your front door when you finally asked him to stop coming.
_ "I know you mean well, and I truly appreciate everything you've done for me so far but I need to learn how to manage on my own." you wanted to tell him off, to ask him to keep his distance but it didn't seem right.
You meant it though— every word that came out of your mouth, you truly needed to be independent, find a job that would hopefully pay well and guarantee a comfortable life for you and your unborn child.
Though it was a lot easier said than done.. because who would want to hire a pregnant woman with little professional experience?
You tried and tried but to no avail, your chances were nonexistent and so was money in your account. You knew that if things kept going the way they were, you would be homeless in a matter of days.
_ "What am I supposed to do?" was the only thing you managed to let out between strangled sobs as your mind wandered off..
Everything was going like a dream until that fateful night a few months ago. Your husband was still by your side as you excitedly awaited your baby to come to life, but it had all gone to hell in a split second, leaving you all alone and helpless.
Money had never been a problem before, not even after you had to quit your job due to your tough pregnancy, it was still fine since your husband's income was more than enough for your small family..
But not anymore, you no longer had any source of income and no one accepted to hire you.
But if someone with enough power and influence were to interfere somehow, then maybe you would have a chance.
You hated yourself for considering that option, and even more so for thinking about him of all people.
But then again, he had shown you nothing but kindness during the few months he had spent checking in on you, whereas all you did was push him away without even a proper "thank you".
You had been aiming your resentment at him so far, but if you were to be completely honest, your bitterness is only due to realizing that he did not deserve any of the blame. And now you're even considering asking him to help you find a job after specifically demanding he stays away.
But you were desperate, and had no other choice.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
You took a deep breath and stepped into his agency, unsure of what to do or say next, but no matter how bad your visit's outcome might be, it cannot be worse than the eviction notice sitting on top of your fridge.
You looked around as you were slowly approaching the receptionist's desk, admiring the extravagant interior and the elegant looking staff.
_ "Hello! may I help you ma'am?" too cheerful for your liking to be honest.
_ "Yes, hello, may I see Mr All might please?" hearing yourself utter those words out loud made you realize how ridiculous you were being, and suddenly wished to disappear.
_ "He's not present at the moment, but you may leave a message."
Maybe it was for the best that he wasn't there, "that's totally fine thank you." and with that, you turned around and hurried out, only to be intercepted by his huge form right at the main entrance.
_ "Ms y/n! is everything okay? were you here to see me?" he was all over you, studying your features in hopes of getting an answer you were taking too long to provide, "will you come with me to my office?"
You did, silently trailing behind him and purposely ignoring everyone's questioning looks, until you found yourself sitting across from the number one hero, a huge mahogany table between you two, and a refreshing beverage in your hand.
_ "I actually came here today to ask for your assistance," it has always been hard for you to admit defeat or accept aid from anyone, but what other choices did you have? "I've been trying to get a job lately but I was unlucky, so I was wondering if you could help me find one, if it's not a bother of course."
You almost took your words back the moment they left your mouth, and you would have if he didn't beat you to the answer.
_ "Why not work for me? You can be my assistant, it's perfect for you and won't demand any extra physical effort."
It is perfect, too perfect in fact, but would that be okay? Working for the one you wanted to avoid the most?
_ "I really appreciate the offer sir but don't you already have an assistant?"
_ "I have more than one," he leaned back in his chair, averting his gaze and scratching the back of his head as a nervous laughter escaped his throat, "the amount of work we have here can't be handled otherwise, so will you join our team?"
He sounded hopeful, desperate to hear you say "yes", and you didn't care for the warmth creeping up your skin, because it shouldn't mean anything more than your raging pregnancy hormones.
_ "Yes, I'll take it, thank you so much for the opportunity sir."
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Working for the number one hero should be exhausting, stressful, and even dangerous. But that was not the case for you, since All might has been paying you extra attention.
None of it mattered though, you didn't take the job so you would be treated nicely, you did it because no one else wanted to hire you.
So despite the rumors and the hushed whispers some of your colleagues liked to spread about you and your boss, you did what should be done and focused solely on your assignments while ignoring everything else around you.
_ "How was yesterday's doctor appointment? I really wished to be there with you this time as well." his cheerful voice ceased being annoying a long time ago, perhaps seeing his face almost everyday for the past four months did the trick. But it wasn't just that, his mere presence has become your source of strength.
_ "Oh no don't say that you're already doing too much for me, and no matter what I do in return, there is no way I'll be able to pay you back," you were looking into his eyes as you spoke, the same ones you used to despise.
And it's strange, the purity those irises emitted was something you were blind to, for the longest time.
_ "Everything seems to be going well, the doctor said that my due date should be in about a month from now." you added with a smile, as you caressed your tummy.
_ "Why don't you start your maternity leave then? Don't worry about the paper work and get as much rest as you need." there he was again, showing you nothing but unconditional support and kindness, and kindling a familiar warmth that spread across your whole body.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
You plopped down on the couch and placed all the baby clothes and toys by your side. You needed to organize and store them properly before leaving to the hospital the next morning.
You smiled as you picked up that fluffy little onesie All might had bought a few weeks ago. It had the same design and colors as in his hero costume, and you giggled softly as you remembered his excitement the day he had given it to you.
You were so lost in your own thoughts that you almost missed the gentle knock on your door.
_ "Sir, what are you doing here?" it was him, sporting his trademark smile as he greeted you.
_ "I wanted to see you before joining the others in a bit, I came to wish you good luck tomorrow." he was about to lead an operation against the league of villains in order to save one of his students. A tough mission indeed, where should be no room for mistakes, because the alternative would be the boy's life.
And as his assistant, you were aware of all of that, but what you were oblivious of, was that he had come to you for reassurance, because seeing your face has always given him that sense of comfort.
_ "The mission won't start for another hour, do you want to come in for a moment?" you suggested with a smile, stepping to the side and giving him room to enter.
It was nice, the closeness you two learned to share over the last few months. You still couldn't admit it, but after your husband's passing, this man has become the closest thing to you.
You couldn't understand how to explain your feelings for him, or rather, you didn't dare touch that part for the sake of your late husband and your unborn child.
_ "If everything goes well tonight, I will be by your side during delivery." his smile remained intact as he helped you organize the tiny garments, but there was also an undeniable worry in his eyes.
_ "It will be okay, you are All might for god's sake." you couldn't do much to help, but you were hoping your words would soothe him even a little.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
He had left your apartment and gone to the mission ahead, and not knowing how things were going on his side wasn't helping your increasing anxiety.
You flipped through the TV channels, to hopefully come across a report or a news coverage that would provide any kind of updates, until his face finally showed up on the screen, and you froze seeing his blood stained body and exhausted state..
It was a lot more serious than you expected it to be, you have never seen him that way before, all beat up and barely able to stand on his feet.
You clutched your chest and bit down on your lip as you watched everyone fighting tooth and nail against the villains, but your focus remained on one person only.
And all of a sudden, something unexpected happened, something that flipped your world upside down.. All might, the almighty man, the number one hero and symbol of peace, turned into someone else entirely, someone you were familiar with.. your introverted neighbor Mr Toshinori Yagi.
Was it a dream? Your mind playing tricks on you? A sick joke of some sort?
Your shy quiet neighbor— with whome you've only shared polite greetings, and the friendly cheerful All might who walked into your life, uninvited, and pulled you out of the pit..
How can they possibly be the same person?
You felt strangely betrayed, though you knew deep down that you had no right to. Why would he reveal his secret to you? He owes you nothing.
Your eyes were still glued to the TV screen, and your anxiety level shot to the roof.
"Please be safe." It didn't matter anymore who he truly was or what else might he be hiding, the only thing you cared about was for him to be safe.
And suddenly, something snapped underneath you, soaking your underwear and reaching your thighs. It was time for the baby to come.
You were overwhelmed and uncertain about what to do next, your water wasn't supposed to break just yet. Was it because of everything that happened earlier? In any case, the painful contractions started and you could barely phone a cab and change your clothes before picking up your bag and hurrying to the hospital.
Not knowing how the fight would end killed you, and what troubled you further was hearing everyone speaking about him in a judging manner.
It was the only thing people kept talking about. On the news broadcasted on the cab's radio, on the phone call the driver had with his wife, in the amused conversations shared between the nurses in the hospital's hallways.
You wanted to scream, to ask them to shut up already, to beg any kind soul to give you an update on how the mission was going, but there was no one around to help you with that.
And there you were, all alone in the delivery room as you expected you'd be the day your husband had died..
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
You opened your eyes slowly, groaning at the aching of your body. You placed a shaky hand on your empty belly, and that's when you realized that what happened earlier wasn't a dream, your baby was truly delivered.
_ "Ms y/n, are you okay? Should I call a nurse?"
That familiar voice snapped you back to your senses.
_ "Mr Toshinori.. All might.." you weren't sure how to address him now, "how did things go? Are you feeling well? Did the operation succeed?" he was all bandaged up so you weren't sure what to assume.
_ "So you heard about my secret, I hope this doesn't change anything between us and I hope you understand that I had no ulterior motives."
_ "I know, you don't have to explain anything to me because I'm not mad, I'm just happy you're alive." and for the first time in months, you decided that it was okay for you to feel happiness again.
_ "I kept thinking of you the whole time, I wanted to come back to you, to both of you," his eyes traveled to the small crib by your bed, and you watched with a smile as he gently picked up your little baby girl and placed her in your arms, "she'll grow up to be as strong and beautiful as her mother."
You couldn't help the tears running down your cheeks as you held your daughter for the very first time, it was an overwhelming emotion that you have never experienced before. Love, happiness, fear, strength, all at once.
_ "You made it so far y/n, and if you allow me, I would love to share the rest of the journey with you." he cradled your cheeks, caressing your tear stained skin, and you wasted no time giving him an answer that made your heart flutter.
_ "I would love that."

04:04 ✦All Might - Yagi Toshinori✦
Tumblr media
The sun just barely started to illuminate the kitchen as it started to rise. Still, no matter the time, you were up and walking around getting your water bottles ready.
"Morning," Toshinori hummed as he rounded the corner.
"Morning," you replied.
Small pecks were exchanged.
"You're up early today," you commented.
Toshi shrugged, "I couldn't sleep after you got up."
"I wish I would have known," you giggled. "I would have come back to bed."
"And skip out on our morning run?" he chuckled.
Both of you grabbed your water bottles and other things you usually took with you and headed out the door.
It was nice this time of morning. The air was crisp and just starting to warm up. The sun was slowly rising over the horizon. Birds chirped and sang to you as you walked by their homes in the trees.
"So, what's on the agenda for today?" you asked as you looked around.
"I have class later on this afternoon," Toshi recalled his schedule. "I think I might work on my lesson plans before that."
"Will you be home in time for dinner?" you asked.
"Of course," he beamed.
Ever since he had met you, he was in love. You were the light of his world, and you felt the same way. He was a wonderful bright light in your darkest days. You both were head over heels for the other.
Mornings like these were a daily thing, but neither of you would miss it for the world. Once some small domestic conversations were shared, you both would just walk together in comfortable silence. It was a time for both of you to just be without all the other distractions and annoyances that life brought.
"I love you," you sighed out looking over at him.
He had the biggest grin on his face, "I love you too."

All might x Female!Reader-only one bed
Tumblr media
All your co-workers knew you were crushing on Toshinori and anyone could tell, except him. Which led to a bunch of awkward situations, because they would constantly try to get you to spend time around each other. Every situation kept getting more and more weird, but they never pushed it too far. Until now,you were going with everyone on a mission that required you to get out of town. Which also meant that you had to share a room with someone, and you had a feeling that they would do everything in their power to pair you with Toshinori, and they did. He was very calm about the whole thing, but that quickly changed when you reached the room and found out you only had one bed. There was a moment of silence as neither of you knew what to say.
“I’ll go check with them if they have any other rooms” He followed you to the lobby,in complete silence. You were immediately told that all the rooms were full,so you walked back to your room in silence. Neither of you said anything for a while, you were just trying to figure something out.
“I’m sorry about this,I’ll go see if I can get Midnight to change rooms” He suggested, not daring to look you in the eye. You don’t know how or where you found the confidence but you suddenly said.
“It’s fine, the bed’s big enough for us to share it”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes,I’m sure”
You looked up at the clock 2:03,you couldn’t sleep mostly because Toshinori was right next to you. You didn’t want to move around too much and wake him up. The sudden feeling of the bed dipping right behind you made you realize that he was closer to you than before. You were internally panicking, until you heard a whimper and turned around to see him shaking. The second you put your hand on his cheek he woke up,clearly shaken up.
“Are you okay?” You put your hand on his shoulder, brushing back his hair.
“I’m fine” You knew that wasn’t true but you didn’t want to push it. Instead you just hugged him,he leaned into you,the only sound was both of you breathing. Your fingers brushing through his hair,he leaned further into you letting you hold him. “Y/N”
“Yes?”
“Thank you”

Rach hi I am humbly on my knees for another request
I am so sleep deprived and am projecting on my kind 🥰
Can I please request super duper exhausted denki and dad-might comfort 😭🙏🙏
Tumblr media
------------{ ☆°•○•°☆ }------------
My Hero Academia: Re- Chargebolt
Tumblr media
IRODKSHDISKXKDJ Duck Duck I think I needed this ask as much as you did 😭❤️ I miss just writing fluff, there's 100% going to be more~ This one's for you bestie!!!
Summary: Denki has been working overtime on his studies lately and falls asleep in Aizawas class, so All Might is called in to take care of him.
Fluffy fluff
Tw: None
------------{ ☆°•○•°☆ }------------
"We're going to watch this health and safety video, and I need you to take notes." Aizawa explained to the class, who all groaned in annoyance.
"Trust me I don't want to do this either. Let's just get it over with. Aoyama, get the lights please."
Off went the lights, plunging the classroom into darkness. It was winter, so no sunlight was coming through the windows either. Everyone sat staring bored out of their minds as the dull and tedious movie.
Everyone except Denki. Having stayed up all night studying, he was in a bad way. All his energy had been drained throughout the day, and now he was in a dark, heated classroom, with nothing to keep him alert but his mind.
As the boring monotone educational video dragged on, his eyes felt heavy, slowly slipping shut before fluttering open again as his brain reminded his body to keep going.
Stay awake.
He suddenly realised his eyes were shut again, quickly sitting up with a gasp. It's okay. Only a few seconds had passed, it felt like longer though. If that was just a few seconds, maybe putting his head down for a moment would be safe. Yeah. Just for a couple of seconds.
"In case of a fire, seek out... Some... Quali..." The voice on the video started to blur. What were they saying? Quali? Quail? That's a bird. So is Hawks. Is he like a quail? No, qualis can't fly. Focus!
Denki gave in, crossing his arms over his desk, using them as a pillow as he rested his head upon them. He'd take a few notes, just a few. The sound of the video started to fade as his eyes lulled closed again. A wave of exhaustion passed over him as his surroundings blurred out, fading into a peaceful silence.
---
When dealing with an uncooperative... Kaminari... Remember to always... Wake up...
The voices surrounding him slowly became entwined in a confusing mess as Denki was roused from his sleep again. He felt weird. Is he still dreaming? When did he fall asleep?
"Kaminari." One of the voices became clearer, a definite point to focus on in his sleepy state. Wait. They said his name.
"Mh..." He responded with a hum, his head still buried in his arms. The video still playing overhead, and the rest of the class still taking notes.
"Come on, bud. We need to get you out of here." The soothing tone belonged to All Might. Aizawa had texted him that he needed some help with Denki. The boy wasn't in trouble, in fact, Aizawa was more worried than anything.
"M'takin'... Notes..." The half-asleep boy mumbled, his hand lazily moving as if he were holding his pen, which was stuck to his arm where he had been laying on it.
Toshi smiled sympathetically, carefully pulling Denki's chair out a little. "Yeah, very nice notes buddy. Come on, let's go." He hooked an arm around Denki's chest, lifting him from his seat, picking up his bag for him before guiding him gently outside.
"Bye, Denki." Kirishima whispered with a grin before turning his attention back to the task.
The brighter lights in the hallway made Denki flinch, squeezing his eyes shut as he whined. Toshi patted his hair reassuringly.
"Alright, buddy. Back to the dorms, okay?"
"But... I don't..." Poor Denki. He looked so lost. Still half asleep, his hair all messy and shirt buttoned up unevenly. All Might hadn't seen him like this before, it was kind of sad to see the usually so energetic boy reduced to a dishevelled rag with big purple bags under his eyes.
"Oh, my bag..." He tiredly took his bag from All Might, hugging it to his chest. "Can't lose this. 'Ts got my cool pens in it."
"Your cool pens?" All Might chuckled, deciding this would be easiest if he just carried the boy back. "How many have you got?" He asked kindly as he scooped the boy into his arms, carrying him bridal style.
Denki immediately settled into his arms, relieved to not be on his feet anymore. "Lots... Maybe... Twenty..."
"Twenty? Wooow, that's a lot. What's your favourite one?"
"Blue... No... Purple..." The blonde's head slumped against All Might's chest, still hugging his bag.
"Purple is a nice colour." All Might smiled as he felt Denki's body relax. He was glad the boy had been so eager to get better grades on his written work, but perhaps a study schedule would help to make sure he doesn't overwork himself like this again.
"Have you had anything to eat today?... Kaminari?" He looked down, realising Denki had already fallen asleep again. "Yeah, you rest up kid."
---
This was the quietest Denki had ever been, just snoring quietly as All Might carried him all the way back to the dorms. He then settled the boy on the sofa in the lounge area, propping his head on a pillow and removing his shoes.
"Kaminaaari... Wakey-wakey bud." Toshi cooed, softly patting the young hero's cheek to stir him, hopefully for the last time.
Denki snorted as he woke again, a small spark of electricity circling his nose. He groaned, sitting up like a zombie rising from the dead with his mouth hung open and his eyes lazily half shut. "M'up. M'awake... Aizawa... sir...? Huh?" He narrowed his eyes, slowly realizing he wasn't in class anymore.
"Uuuh... How...?"
"It's okay, Kaminari. You've been excused from class today. Here, I made you some nice Oyakodon." All Might smiled, sitting beside Denki and showing him the nice warm bowl of fluffy steamed rice with chicken, onions, egg and Umami sauce. A nice easy quick meal to make. Nice and filling too.
Denki's eyes lit up as the smell filled his nose, his tiredness subsiding for a moment, he was starving. "Ooooh! Thank you." He smiled, carefully taking the bowl and spoon before starting to eat. "Mmh... So warm." He closed his eyes, blissfully enjoying the flavour.
"I thought you'd appreciate it. A quick meal before bed." Toshi smiled, rubbing Kaminari's back soothingly.
"Is Aizawa mad at me?... I don't even remember what we were doing in class..." He pouted, looking at his food, he didn't want Aizawa to think he didn't enjoy his lessons. He loved Aizawa and his classes.
"Of course not. He texted me to come to get you because he was worried. He knows you've been working very hard recently, and he's very proud. We all are. Sero and Kirishima both said they'd take extra notes for you." All Might smiled as he ruffled Denki's hair, making him giggle.
"Okay, good... I like Aizawa and everyone." The sleepy boy smiled, continuing to enjoy his meal. Toshi fetched him a glass of water to finish the food with. Once done, Denki yawned loudly, stretching his arms out in front of him as he squeaked at the end. "Thanks for the food." He smiled up at All Might as the man took the empty bowl from his lap and set it on the coffee table.
"No problem buddy. Now, let's- Uh?" The older hero paused, looking confused as Denki laid down again, resting his head on Toshis thigh with a content sigh. With a full belly and a comfy place to rest, Deki was already set for bed. Even more tired than before.
"Kaminari, you can't... Ah, fine." All Might chuckled, carefully lifting the boy's head and taking off his tie so he'd be comfier. He then pulled the throw blanket from the back of the couch, draping it over his body, and tucking it around his cheeks snuggly, grabbing a pillow for his head too, placing it in his lap.
"Mh... All Might."
"Yes, buddy?"
"I like you too... You're so cool 'n nice... Y'know?" Denki mumbled, curling up on his side, enjoying having company for his nap.
"Hah, thank you, Kaminari. You're cool too." He rested his giant hand upon Denki's head, soothingly petting his hair as he drifted off to sleep. "You're going to be a wonderful hero, Chargebolt."
The thunder boy smiled, soon falling asleep again. His gentle breathing and light snores brought a sense of calm to the busy life of this old hero. Toshi happily stayed there with him, even dosing off himself, being discovered by the rest of the class once they returned from the day's classes.
A few photos were taken before they were left to rest without being disturbed. It was the best sleep they had both had in a while.

"You see this?" This villain trying to rob a corporation showed one of the workers a strange marking, a feeling deep in my gut telling me that this was bad, "It's a part of my quirk, and with a simple move of my hands? Boom! They're placed all over this building and if you don't take a hike? This whole building's going to collapse!"
This was really bad!
Little did that guy know I was in there, relaying the message through my earpiece to my backup, emphasizing most:
"We need this entire building evacuated, now. It can go down in a matter of a second."
"Y/N? The pro-hero?" That employee spotted me, growing more hopeful, "The heroes are here!"
Well, no point in hiding now! My quirk was force fields, and I could manipulate it however I wanted, sliding out to face the villain, I not only protect that employee but the entire skeletal structure of the building, rushing to say:
"Evacuate this building, now! More pro heroes are on the way to help! Hurry!"
The employee quickly nodded and made sure to run out of there, my eyes on the robber as he yelled:
"You damn, pro heroes! You just want this place blown to bits!"
"Not on my watch!" I never showed fear, but I was scared at that moment because of how my quirk worked. The bigger the object that I was protecting, the harder it was for me to multitask. It took too much power and concentration and considering this was basically a skyscraper, I could feel the toll it was taking on me whenever I engaged in battle with him.
"Guys! I'm going to need backup! There's more than one of them!" If things couldn't get worse, this guy had some accomplices.
My hands were too full. I couldn't do this alone. At that moment, being surrounded, my focus was to make sure that the building was okay and stable, just in case that guy decided to set off the bombs.
"Y/N! We are closing in shortly! Just keep holding them off! You can do it!"
All Might?
It was a huge relief that he was on his way, but we were more than just fellow heroes. We had a relationship, and during that time, we trained together, so he knows how my quirk works extensively.
"All Might-" I was trying not to sound so worried, but I couldn't help it. My energy was draining, even beginning to pant from it.
"I know, Y/N. It's hard for you to hold up, but don't fear! You take that pain you're feeling, and turn it into power! Remember who you are! I won't be much longer, I promise you!"
Remember who I was. Turn my pain into power. I could do this. I had to do this!
"What are you all standing there watching her for?!" Their commander was ready to act, instructing them, "There's five of us and one of her! Take her out!"
"I am Pro Hero, Y/N and I will not let you get away with this!" Toshinori always knew how to motivate me and not only was I trying to stop these villains, but I was also testing myself, controlling my force field, and taking on the four of his goons all at once!
The strain on my body was rushing toward me, but I couldn't let it stop me. Three out of the four goons were taken care of and just as I was ready to handle the last, preparing myself for their boss, I saw his hands shoot out in front of him, taking a stance:
"That's it! I hope you're ready to become rubble!"
Right as I went to charge him, his goon grabbed my leg, the boss's index finger beginning to bend, but out of nowhere, glass shattered, and a huge gust of wind flew into the building:
"Not so fast!"
Toshinori had that guy restrained in an instant, he could move that quickly! The sight of that muscular stature, bright blue eyes and blonde hair? It was a sight for sore eyes, the biggest relief I could've asked for.
"Don't think I forgot about you!" Whipping around, I managed to get his goon restrained too, shaking with deep breaths, still protecting the building, but a lot less tense now that my hands weren't so full.
"You never cease to amaze me, Y/N! Marvelous work!" His smile always filled my heart with joy, making it to my feet and hearing that the police were almost on the top floor.
"And you know that I always give it my-"
"What are you two smiling for?" Was this villain out of his mind, even while restrained, he was laughing and what we didn't notice was his goon in the mask, even with his hands together, making a sign, "You're weakened, and I know your quirk. Bet you're focused on the structure of the building, aren't you?"
How did he know my exact strategy?! I yelled out in pain while trying to cover every inch of the building, but all I heard was a laugh:
"Too late, hero! Bye-bye!"
It was from below! Directly below me! Did he manage this during our fight? The floor started crumbling beneath me in an instant, beginning to fall into debris from the explosions underneath, going to reach out as Toshinori was coming after me, but it was too late.
"Toshinori!"
As a hero, you may face death. I was at my limit, and I could feel myself giving way. I didn't have enough energy to even save myself. This was it, falling level after level, wouldn't be much longer till I reached the ground floor, a giant piece of concrete falling along with me.
I accepted my fate, watching that piece of concrete, feeling how much faster I was falling with the wind gusting under me, but I quickly had to shield my eyes, hearing above me:
"New Hampshire SMASH!"
Light beamed onto me from above, that concrete now mere pebbles, a shadow brought to the light, shining blue eyes locked onto me, a smile on Toshinori's face, reeling me into his chest with one arm, able to feel the ground crunching some under his massive weight, landing on the ground perfectly, keeping my head protected, but I saw his fist in the air, another piece of concrete falling to his fist and instantly turned to mere rubble.
"T-Toshi-" I was speechless, positive my heart had stopped.
Time was still, eyes glistening at his smile, not All Might speaking, but Toshinori as he cooed to me softly:
"You know that I would never let anything happen to you, my sweet, Y/N. Never."
For the first time, I understood why he was the number one hero, and why he was the symbol of peace. In such a dangerous situation, handling villains who were still causing trouble while restrained, and saving me from what I was sure was going to be my death, in a matter of just moments?
He is what a true hero is and to think that he was mine.
Suddenly, tears just streamed down my face. Pain from being drained, that explosion, now I think my heart was exploding! I was overwhelmed and the moment I began to cry, he held the back of my head, keeping me snug in his arms while I cried into his chest, whispering to me softly:
"It's okay, sweetheart. It's all over."
"All Might! Thank goodness, you saved her!"
Why did the rest of the police and heroes have to show up at a time like this?! No one knew about us, so I tried my best to suck up the tears, Toshinori keeping his composure, knowing that I needed medical attention:
"Are the paramedics here?"
"Right this way!"
One of the officers lead the way out and sure enough, press and new reporters were all over the place, but Toshinori took me to the ambulance and while in the doorway with no one inside yet, he quickly snuck in a kiss on my cheek before anyone saw, able to hear the concern and all his worries in his whisper:
"I promise as soon as I'm done, I'll be right by your side."
I only nodded so we didn't attract any attention, being placed inside and tended to by the paramedics. Luck was surely on my side today. I got some nasty cuts from the debris, but other than that, no serious injuries. As for my power draining me? Just a day's rest and a good night's sleep would solve that.
Sitting in my hospital bed, waiting for Toshinori, all I could see in my head was him flying down for me, his smile as he saved me. It was on repeat, so out of it that I jumped a little when he came rushing through the door:
"Y/N?"
"Toshinori!" I sat up as quickly as I could, just to wail at the pain, Toshinori quickly came to lay me back easy, cooing:
"Easy, easy. You need to relax. I know everything back there took a toll on you, please sweetie."
"Just hug me?" I sniffled, and with no words, he knew what I needed, giving me one of his, 'famous', comfy hugs, even with all that muscle being gentle enough so that it didn't irritate my soreness.
"Don't beat yourself up because of what happened," He always knew what was on my mind. I was telling myself that I should've been more alert and cautious, or that wouldn't have happened. I wouldn't have had to put either of us into that situation.
"I can't believe I was so oblivious to his goon," I sighed, resting my head against his broad chest, being shushed softly:
"You didn't know and that's okay. You still got all the civilians evacuated, those villains are in custody, and everyone's okay. That's what matters."
"I'm sorry that I-"
"No apologizing," He picked up my head to look deeply into my eyes, needing to show how serious he was along with his words, "You know as heroes, the danger we face, but whether if I'm near or far, I will never let anything happen to you. I pr-; No, I swear. I love you, Y/N."
I hated being such a crybaby, but it couldn't be helped, not after hearing those huge words, hugging him with the last bit of strength that I had inside of me, making sure he heard back:
"I love you too, Toshinori."
"No more tears now," His smile made my tears stop, his warm, loving embrace erasing the bad feelings, the warmth of his hand against my cheek making me smile, "Don't want those gorgeous eyes of yours turning red."
"At least allow me to thank you," I said softly, thinking back to earlier, "I pushed myself to a new limit and think I discovered something new."
"Is that right?!" He smiled, his excitement having me giggle some, "As soon as you're feeling better, we'll have to train to test that out."
"I won't be out long at all. I can promise you that, love," I winked, showing him that I wasn't going to let this crush my spirit like it was trying to, having him there with me was always a help, let alone when he kissed me softly, smiling:
"Now, that's the spirit, sweetie."

Walking across the road, you regretted not putting your warm fluffy hoodie on. The cold weather hit the city only yesterday and you thought it’s not gonna be that bad so you didn’t bother to take a jacket, opting for a mere cardigan instead. Big mistake. It didn’t prevent the cold wind to chill you to the bone at all. And since it was only the start of autumn, no one thought of starting up the heating system of the school you worked in yet so the whole building was a half-freezing hell as well. How fitting, considering how many students would describe their school experiences as hellish. You smirked a bit, wondering if that’s how your students would talk about your lessons too. You rounded your shoulders, trying to warm your stiff with cold muscles. The café wasn’t even that far from the school and yet you already felt like no amount of warm-up will get you ready for the lesson. Oh well, the coffee was worth it. Fate, however, had different plans for you.
Just as the place you aimed for came into the view, so did something – or rather someone – else. A man you recognized even from far away. He had fluffy blonde hair and crystal blue eyes that simply dragged your full attention to him. And the fact that his charcoal grey turtleneck hugged his sculpted body snuggly didn’t exactly help either. He looked like an angel! If only angels wore their jackets folded over their arms while carrying a little cardboard cup holder. He waved at you and you returned the gesture, rushing to meet him halfway. How he was not freezing was beyond your comprehension.
“Hey Toshi! Also lacking caffeine I see,” you teased once you were close enough and eyed the cup holder, finally noticing it was occupied by two cups. “Yeah, I thought you might want some too and hoped to catch you before you have to endure this cold. I know you grew up in warmer climate, so… yeah,” he rubbed his neck with a shy smile that made your heart flutter. “Aw, that’s so sweet! Thank you so much! I swear I’ll stay put next time,” you smiled gratefully.  “I’m not your personal delivery service, you know?” he joked as he handed you your cup. You hummed dismissively and took a sip. It was done just the way you liked it. That caught you off guard and he probably noticed because he chuckled at your confused expression. “What? You thought I wouldn’t remember how you take your coffee after all these weeks?” Now it was your turn to be shy. “Well I didn’t exactly have a reason to assume so,” you smiled a little bit as you sipped the drink again.
You were not bitter, truly not. But it was such a stark contrast between you two. You on one hand never missed an opportunity to watch his lessons or just sneak a peek as he practiced. While on the other he never bothered to do anything like that or to at the very least try to get to know your dance style better. You would lie if you said you weren’t disappointed by his behaviour – you were friends, colleagues and even shared an office after all. You kept telling yourself that maybe he just doesn’t feel comfortable enough to just barge in and watch you so you offered him to help you during the class but he always politely declined. Yet here he was, remembering something so stupid like how you like your coffee.
“I’m full of surprises,” he winked you playfully. You choked on your drink, laughing as you coughed. “Where did that come from?” you said in between coughs, lips spread into a wide smile. He shrugged as he laughed himself. “I guess I’m still half asleep,” he joked, finishing his drink in a long swig. “Or maybe just slowly dying from the cold,” you muttered as you gulped down the rest of the warm liquid and were once again left to face the cold without any protection. You shivered as the freezing wind rushed past you. “Oh, I’m so stupid, I didn’t notice – here, take this,” he stumbled over his words as he put his jacket over your shoulders. The relief was immediate. You almost purred like a cat with the sudden warmth. “Are you sure? It’s not that far, I can do it,” you politely assured he was alright without his jacket even though there was no way you were going to give it back until you reached the school where you kept a warm sweater for this kind of scenarios. “I’m fine, the cold never really bothered me,” he smiled at you. “Thank you,” you returned the motion and snuggled into the warm piece of clothing.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Finally you reached your apartment after a long day at school. You loved your job and wouldn’t change it for a world but sometimes it was too much. And with the freezing hell the building was today you were ready to take a hot shower and hit the hay.
Which was exactly what you did and now you were laying in your bed, a thick duvet covering your body from toes to chin. Your stomach was full after a delicious dinner you made and you felt content. Well, quite content anyway. You couldn’t help but feel melancholic as you looked out the window into the dark, quiet street.
It was at times like this you missed your home the most. You got over the cultural shock pretty quickly since you’ve always been interested in Japanese culture and way of life. Getting used to it wasn’t that bad, everyone was very polite, nice and you’ve found some great friends that helped you as well. But sometimes at night when it was so quiet it was unsettling you remembered the soft noise you always heard outside while growing up and the comfort of knowing that you were surrounded by people who had the same worldview and values as you.
And the parties, god, did you miss those. Every one moved in sync, body on body, moving to the rhythm of salsa and mambo. How easy it was to get lost and free yourself from everything, just dancing to the beat and meeting handsome strangers. Well the last part applied here too, only your handsome stranger wasn’t interested in dancing with you and he was no stranger. You scoffed as you thought of Toshinori. He was your very own mixed signal generator. He was nice, he was friendly and paid attention to what you were saying and actually remembered it – the coffee earlier was not the first time he surprised you with what he remembered about you.
What you admired and loved the most about him though was his passion for dancing that matched your own. That was part of the reason you always made time to watch him dance. His moves perfectly matched the songs and expressed so many emotions. The shy guy disappeared completely; it was like watching a caterpillar change into butterfly. It always made you long for his touch on your skin to rhythm of salsa, you knew he would be a perfect dance partner for you! The moves were a bit different, sure, since his style was more street dance whereas you, obviously, focused more on latin style dances and hip hop, yet you knew he was talented enough to learn from you quickly.
So why? Why did he never accept your offer to come and watch when you asked him? Could he not see how important it was for you? You huffed, he for sure was oblivious about every hint you dropped that you liked him, but he surely couldn’t be as dense? Sighing deeply, you decided to let it go for tonight. It wasn’t like you could do anything about it right now and your body craved sleep.
   -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Toshinori leaned back in his chair and stretched his arms. He would never guess that being teacher would also mean so much paperwork. And you weren’t in yet to brighten his day. He ran his hands down his face when there was a knock on the open door. He looked over to see his long-time friend and fellow teacher, Naomasa, standing there. “Hey, Nao,” he greeted as he pushed himself away from the desk. “Hey, still not done with those?” the other man pointed towards the many stacks of paper on Toshinori’s desk. “Yeah, [y/n] promised to help me fill them correctly,” he sighed. It always took him forever but with you it was so easy. “I recommend you make it up to her, she helps you all the time you know,” his friend said with mischievous glimmer in his eyes. Here we go again, Toshinori thought. “What do you suggest I do?” he crossed his arms over his chest; he already knew what his friend will propose. “Well, you always turn her down when she offers you to join her during a class,” he shrugged and the blonde couldn’t help but sigh. “And what would I do there? I can’t dance like she does,” he argued but Naomasa had none of that. “You can watch her, you know, everybody here does that. Just go and support your friend.” Toshinori knew that of course, literally everyone told him to go and see her class. It was one of many things he really liked about the school – that everyone was so supportive of each other and often watched others dance. With you however it wasn’t so easy. He knew he wouldn’t be able to just watch the whole time. “You know why that’s a bad idea,” he pinched the bridge of his nose as his friend laughed at his misery. “So what? You like her and she likes you,” Naomasa ignored Toshinori’s doubtful look with ease, “and you’re both so confident while dancing that might finally talk about it,” he finished his lecture with a big smile, completely oblivious to his friend’s exasperation.
Before he could respond, presumably by kicking Naomasa from the office, you walked in and gave them both a questioning look. The black haired man grinned widely as he greeted you. “[y/n]! Doing great I hope?” You immediately felt suspicious about his cheery attitude. “Yeah, what’s up? Am I interrupting something?” You took of your coat and set your bag on the chair. “No, not at all, I have to run anyway! It was nice seeing you again [y/n] and Toshi, remember what we talked about,” he gave him a strict look that was slightly undermined by his wide grin. He left the office swiftly and you turned to look at Toshi who looked like he could strangle the man right now. You simply chuckled, it wasn’t the first time this has happened. “So what did he do today?” you asked amusedly but Toshi only shook his head. “Nothing really, he’s just annoying,” he sighed. You patted his shoulder supportively, “It’s alright, you can always tell your class to be extra mean to him.” He laughed at the suggestion, knowing his students would be more than thrilled to obey.
Little did you know that his mind was racing under his laughing face. Because however he tried not to accept it, Naomasa was right. He did like you, he wanted to see you dance – and dance with you – so much, only more interested after everything he heard but he was afraid. Worried that once he saw you dance, there would be no going back and he would fall too deep. And what would he do then if you decided to reject him? On the other hand, how was he supposed to function when you occupied his mind all the time?
Sighing, he decided to bite the bullet. “Hey, so, uh, I was doing these,” he said as he played with one of many papers on his desk. You looked at him curiously. “Yeah?” you prompted. He looked away for a bit. This was harder than he expected; his whole training seemed easier than this! “And I need a break so do you think I could join you in the class today?”
Now it was your time to trip over your words and blush, all shy and shocked. You bit your lip to stop yourself from giggling. Speak and the universe will listen, huh? “Of course! It’ll be fun!” you blurted out quickly before he changed his mind. After all the weeks you tried to get him to come he’ll just ask himself, what’s up with that? You had a hunch that Naomasa was somehow involved in this but in your experience, he never could talk Toshi into anything so who knows. Said man laughed at your eagerness, awkwardly rubbing his neck. “I’ll just watch, I don’t think I could pull off the right moves.” You waved him off. “Sure sure, whatever.” You were too giddy to trouble yourself with anything but the fact that Toshinori will finally come and see you dance. Maybe he will like it and join you too! Well, that was too good to become true but girl can dream, right? You agreed on when and you told him where and parted ways to go to your respective classes. He wouldn’t be able to stay the whole lesson but it was a little step forward.
You were ecstatic for the rest of the day. You put more energy into your moves, swayed your hips with more passion. Every song seemed to be about Toshi and you. Your mind was a mess but it was such a sweet feeling. Overall you were more cheerful and nicer to both students and your colleagues. Nemuri noticed too but said nothing – she probably guessed what was happening, judging from the shit-eating grin she was giving you. Fortunately, she kept her mouth shut and students whispered just quiet enough for you not to hear.
And finally the fated lesson came. All the students were in the dance room your class took place in and among them, leaning against the wall in the front, Toshinori. You were almost sure he was blushing. It was the first time he saw you in just your leggings and tank-top afterall. You suddenly felt shy too but this was no time for your insecurities to pop out! You greeted everyone as usually and shared your plan for today: stretching, a little repeat of the moves they learned the last time and then new steps that will finally complete the whole fast sequence of this dance. It was something you worked on for the last two weeks with them so you hoped everything will go smoothly, especially today. Though students noticed your unusual mood and impatience to start already but it looked like nobody made the connection between these changes and Toshinori’s presence.
You let the music play and went through a quick stretch session. Your muscles were already warmed from the previous lessons as was the case of most students but you wanted to make sure everyone was ready. Better safe than sorry, right? Then a shift in your playlist came, signalling that the class was about to move to the more interesting part. “Alright everyone, let’s do it!” you shouted excited as you adapted to the music.
Toshinori watched this change awe-struck. His eyes never left your body as you moved to the music. You moved in such feline way, so sensually, teasingly swaying your hips to the rhythm. Your movements were quick and precise but also slow and breath-taking when needed to be. He could imagine with great detail what you would feel like under his hands if he held you, every little movement of your muscles as his palms would slide on your skin.  He had a hard time just standing there, nodding to the rhythm when your dance was so inviting he forgot about not knowing steps. He felt like he could just melt into you and follow your commands without you ever giving them aloud. He felt so robbed when his phone vibrated and forced him to leave for his own lesson. He tch’ed as he looked at you longingly. How was he supposed to teach now?  It was like he was leaving a miracle in progress just to watch tv. With a soft sigh, he waved at you as he promised to do when he was leaving. He hoped you didn’t notice how much his hands shook.
You didn’t. How could you with the look he gave you? You doubted he realized, but in that moment he looked at you like you were an angel saving him from death. Such thirsty and regretful look. A shiver ran down your spine but you carried on. You can freak out about it later when the students leave.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Once you put your mind to it again, the class ended unexpectedly soon. You thanked everyone for their attention and hard work and said goodbyes when suddenly Mineta and Kaminari raised their hands. You knew well how they could be so you raised a brow questioningly as you nodded for them to ask. “[l/n]-sensei, we wanted to ask if it was possible to have classes where we would dance with a partner,” they asked in unison. You saw Jiro giving them a disgusted look. Chuckling, you shrugged your shoulders. “It’s something I’ve been thinking about too but I would need everyone’s consent and a okay from the principal,” you explained. It would take some effort to find more boys for the girls to dance with too, but these kids were really talented and always gave it their all so you were willing to try harder for them too. “Think about it and let me know next time, alright everyone?” you smiled as they left the room, already shouting and talking one another into being their partners. You shook your head fondly; you remembered being the same way in their age.
A soft knock on the door interrupted your thoughts and when you looked up, you didn’t believe your eyes. Toshinori stood there and his eyes never left yours. It must’ve been the first time he didn’t avert his gaze from you and it was wonderful and scary at the same time. What was he thinking about? You were about to find out soon… “Teach me how to dance like that,” he said with a confidence he never showed you before. No. He did. This was the confidence he had while he was on the dancefloor. He had the same determined, passionate look in his azure eyes that shone brightly with energy. “O-okay,” you laughed is disbelief but you were so happy and pleasantly surprised you thought you might pass out.
He walked over to you and let you show him how to stand. His face turned red when he realized just how close you would be during the dance but didn’t back away how he usually would. You showed him the basic moves and saw how the shade on his cheeks darkened. “Don’t worry, it’s alright,” you chuckled as you motioned for him to join you and try himself. He was awkward, clearly hesitant to let go, so you stood behind him and put your hands on his hips. He stiffened under your palms but relaxed again when you led his movements, corrected them be more fluid. When you were finally satisfied with the way it looked, you stood beside him again and showed him how to connect this move to another, piping in with what you’ll do. He was speechless as he saw just how sensual your moves were and how passionate. He knew what your dance looks like, sure, but having you show him while so close took it to a whole new level. Yet his resolve didn’t falter if anything, he wanted to prove to you that he can get as wild as you.
When he had at least some idea with how your native dance works, you moved forward to the real test: combining your steps and dancing together. He tensed again slightly when you invaded his personal space, this time though he relaxed almost immediately. By the look in his eyes it was obvious he wanted this to work out just as much as you. In any way really – just this dance or you two being partners or even couple. Right now it didn’t matter for in this moment all that mattered was the music your bodies pressed close, swaying to the rhythm. He didn’t flinch when the music started playing and you took his hands and put them on your waist. The material of your tank top was so thin it was like there was nothing separating your skins. It would be such a nice contrast too, his creamy white skin against your tanned darker one. You tried the first few moves tentatively, getting used to his presence behind you. He did the same, hesitating when he was to move your hands along your curves but you were gentle with him, always assuring that it was alright. It wasn’t like he was doing anything intimate in the wrong sense.
Soon enough though, you both let the music consume you. There was nothing shy about Toshinori anymore, he knew what he was doing and even if the steps were rather easy for you, they were far from boring. Your energy surged to the room and didn’t hit a wall but mingled with Toshi’s, creating a mix that pushed you both to experiment, tease each other and push your boundaries. It wild, crazy, exciting and perfect you felt like you were high. You just moved in sync with Toshi and forgot all about the world in favour of the music and his skin against yours.
When the music stopped, you were both out of breath. You stared into each other’s eyes, so close to each other. Your hands were on his chest and his on your hips as you were pressed flush against him. The atmosphere was hot and heavy, almost tangible. But neither of you tried to move away nor did you say anything. No words were needed for you two to understand.  This would happen again. And again. And again. Until one of you wouldn’t be able to dance anymore. And even then, no doubt, you will find a different way to connect so deeply.

(Plant) Dad All Might Headcanon + Mini drabble
--------------------------------------------------------------- More domestic fluff from yours truly. :) It's your typical Dad Might scenario, but instead of adopting hero students, he's got his little space full of plants that he looks after. ----------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Headcanon
It first started as a single plant he got from a close friend at the time.
It was just a small peace lily that started out in a much smaller pot, the plant no bigger than a student's ruler length. No flowers to show its colour yet.
You could say the peace lily was a fitting plant to give to another symbol of peace to look over.
It was moved around the living spaces over the first few months, starting in his bedroom, then the living room for the sunlight, into the bathroom for the moisture in the hot summers. Back into the living room, but now in a larger pot after it started to out grow its first; It was then that it started to bud with the new soil.
The plant was nice to fill the space, but at the end of the day it was just another plant that complimented the room, not too much or too little.
After spending the first year watering and repotting a couple times, it became the start of a routine,
After finally walking back into the door of his home it was one of the first real tasks he carried out, checking the plant was okay; watering and moving it when needed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Drabble
Not much longer after that it became the first task in a routine that was associated with home and comfort, of relaxation and a small break of peace in a busy and stressful life routine… It then progressed to buying more plants of different kinds to place strategically in places that needed filling with pops of colour and nature. Still nothing too outrageous or overbearing. Then it became "what else can I raise?" - "what else can I influence to grow and foster into an abundant life?". Learning how to grow a baby avocado tree from a pit, to re-growing random vegetable scraps just to see what would grow roots on the kitchen counter.- And just as those plants grew themselves, so did the love of bringing in new and cheerful plants just to have something else to watch and be a part of growing. It's interesting how easily your brain quickly associates things as easy as simple sounds to whole emotions and reactions, it's the sound of keys ringing and the door mechanism unlocking. It's the sound of the light switch and then the warmth of the warm yellow light as it bounces off the white walls; Except now, the white walls are mostly covered with greenery, earthy colours and scents. Immediately the body knows it's time to relax. There's plants on the narrow window sills, tropical ferns hanging from the ceiling and climbing vines up the side of the kitchen wall. Mostly plants of heavy foliage, but there's a few calla lilies and perennial flowers in containers on the ground.
Toshinoris house had quickly become more of a garden house than just another home where he slept and carried on what work was left from the day. Slowly filling up a rather large water container and making his way across the rooms to water any needing plants. It doesn't take long but he takes his time and appreciates the quiet and restful nature of the task, without him knowing it's become a meditative part of his evenings and mornings. He used to know how many plants were in his home, now he just knows there's more than 60, but he knows he can point out and thank the first plant that started this hobby, a bright and healthy flowering peace lily that sits by the coffee table, it contends in his favourites along with the giant monstera that climbs up the wall of the living room.
--------------------------------------------------------------------- Author's note:  damn I should have given him a fish pond too while I was at it…. Idk, if you’re keen on the idea, imagine him with at least a goldfish tank, maybe a cool beta fish if you’re fancy. I also wanted to make the peace lily yellow, but I don't think peace lilies come in yellow.... I also know they're considered a funeral plant by most people- and I'm sorry I still couldn't help myself, I'm taking creative liberties here people.

Thursday 9th of October 2019
Holding a hot cup of coffee in your hand, you looked out the window that was embellished with small raindrops. The radio worked as a soft background noise. You didn’t have any classes to teach today so you decided to spend the whole day at home planning tonight’s big and important dinner. Or, to you, it was important. Young Midoriya and his mother were coming over to have dinner with you and Toshinori.
Toshinori introduced you to young Midoriya on the very first day you started your job as a teacher at U.A. It didn’t take long for you to become very close with Midoriya, and eventually you started seeing him as your son. Sometimes you two joked about you being his “school mom” or “spare mom”. It might’ve gotten a bit too real one day when he accidentally called you “mom” in front of the whole class at school. Not that you minded, but he seemed to be embarrassed by it.
You finally finished your cup of coffee and started preparing everything you needed for tonight’s dinner. You had decided to go with a high effort dinner; appetizer, main course and dessert, all with different kinds of options. Now, you weren’t exactly a master chef, but this felt like such an important and special occasion to you so, why not put in some extra effort. (Plus you were nervous about meeting Midoriya’s mom and you wanted to make a good impression as Midoriya’s “school mom”.)
While washing and cutting vegetables your mind started wandering from one thought to another, down the memory lane so to say. You thought about your entrance exams to U.A., first day of U.A., how you met Toshi there… You smiled fondly at the memories, even at the ones when Toshi was in the U.S. He always remembered to send letters to you, call you when possible and sometimes he even sent some sweets and teddy bears. And when he finally got back home, he came straight over to your place and ran into your arms.
You let your mind run wild and free deeper into the memories, looking back at the days when you were young and careless, dreaming about the future, wondering where life would take you.
_________________________________________________________________________
Friday 3rd of September 1986
You nervously walked towards the big gates in front of you. You still couldn’t believe you’d made it here. You passed the entrance exams with flying colors despite a couple of mistakes you made there. This was no surprise to your family though once they found out. Of course they were happy and proud, but they thought it’d be obvious that you’d make it. You were already very skilled with your quirk.
Your train of thought was interrupted when someone bumped into you lightly. You jumped a bit and turned to look at the person. Before you could see the person you heard a light thud, indicating that the person had fallen. Your caring instincts kicked in immediately and you kneeled down next to the person who had just bumped into you.
“My god are you okay?! Are you hurt? Do you need help?” you worriedly fired those questions at them slightly panicking. Offering your hand.
“No no I’m fine… Sorry, I should’ve looked where I was stepping” the person said, finally lifting their gaze to look up at your concerned face. He seemed to freeze as he looked up at you.
But so did you.
As cliché as it sounds, but for a moment it felt like the world stopped around you two. There was nothing around you, it was just the two of you, looking into each other's eyes in complete silence. Your heart felt like it had stopped, yet somehow at the same time it felt like it was going to burst out of your chest. It was like you had sunk into those mesmerizing clear blue eyes. They were blue like the sky in the early morning, once the sun had fully come out from under its blankets. They were bright like the morningstar on a cold winter morning. So bright and full of life.
As you finally woke up from your daze you blushed, realizing how long you must have stared. You extended your hand even closer to him, mumbling incoherent apologies. “Good… good you’re not hurt. Come on let’s get you up”.
He finally accepted your hand, standing up and wiping off the dirt from his clothes. “Thanks… Again, so sorry about that…” He looked up at you again. “I have a bad habit of stumbling over my own feet, you know” he chuckled.
“Uh… right” you replied, not sure HOW exactly to answer such a comment. “Right uh I gotta- gotta go now. Classes” you stumbled over your words, trying to sound polite. “Glad you’re okay! Uh, see you around!” you waved at him and turned to leave before he could say anything else. If earlier you had walked quickly towards your new school, you now practically ran for whatever reason. You still had plenty of time before orientation and classes even started. Maybe you tried to run away? From the guy? Why though? He was nice and there seemed to be nothing shady or scary about him. Just a normal looking guy, with the most beautiful shade of blue eyes you’ve ever seen. You didn’t hear the boy trying to call after you.
Your mind went through a million thoughts per half a second, and now you realized how the boy looked, other than his eyes. He was super tall and he had blonde hair, a bit weirdly combed. Or maybe that’s how it looked naturally? How would you know? He seemed to be quite skinny, yet in good shape. He was overall a nice looking guy. Handsome even.
You blushed at that last thought and tried to shake off the thought of the boy, whose name you didn’t even realize to ask, and concentrate on the mission at hand: finding your class.
_____
You had found your class and even the perfect spot to sit. You looked around at your new classmates, wondering what all their quirks were, what they were like and why they wanted to become heroes.
After a while of sitting and waiting for the teacher to walk in through the door, you see something familiar out of the corner of your eye.  Someone walked in through the door. It was the boy from earlier. You blushed instantly. He was in your class?!
You tried to look away from him, hoping he wouldn’t recognize you.
“Is this uh- is this seat taken?”
You turn to look at the source of the voice and you’re met with a familiar pair of bright blue eyes. The boy from earlier was gesturing to the seat next to you, looking at you with a hopeful expression on his face.
“U-um n-no. No. It’s not taken” you mutter out and smile at him in hopes of looking welcoming.
You were always so nice to people, especially new ones. You had no idea what got into you with this one. The moment you see someone cute all your manners just fly out through the window to god knows where.
“Uh that’s… I’m glad” he smiled back at you, looking genuinely happy and… relieved?
“I uh- I didn’t catch your name out there earlier?” you said to him.
Of course you didn’t catch it y/n! He never said it and you never asked! Why couldn’t you just speak like a normal person? He must think you’re a weirdo now. And why did you make it sound like a question just now? God!
“Oh! Right uh- Yagi. Toshinori Yagi. I was actually going to ask you the same question but… Nice to meet you…?”
“Y/n. My name is y/n. Pleasure to meet you, too Yagi” you smiled at him. This started to go a bit better now.
“Oh cool, cool…” he trailed off with that and turned to look away after a moment.
Did you think it was going well too early?
The teacher walked in the classroom and the lesson started. At least now you don't have to try and come up with something to talk about with this Yagi Toshinori next to you.
There was only about twenty minutes left of the lesson when you heard someone making a “psst” sound at you. You turned to look at Yagi next to you and noticed him holding out his other hand, holding a piece of paper in it. He gestured for you to take it, which you eventually did. You took it and checked in case the teacher noticed. You turned back to look at Yagi, but he looked towards the teacher pretending like he had been concentrating the whole time.
You opened the piece of paper and saw it had something written on it. (With really good handwriting may I add.) You read the contents of it as your heart thumped hard in your chest. Why? You didn’t know.
“i feel kinda bad about earlier and i’d like to  apologize to you properly. + i’d like to talk to you and get to know you better, you seem pretty cool. so, coffee after school?”
You started smiling once you were done reading the message. You turned to look at Yagi again, seeing he was already looking at you, like waiting for your response. You nodded with a smile on your face and gave him a thumbs up. He smiled at you and gave you a thumbs up as well.
You couldn’t wait for this afternoon.
______
When the class ended you waited for Yagi to be ready to leave. When Yagi noticed this, he smiled at you. You walked out of the classroom together in silence. Comfortable silence this time might I add.
“So where do you wanna go?” you asked, smiling brightly at him. “I’ll let you decide”
“Oh? Well, how about we walk around and see which one looks the coziest and nicest?” he suggested, matching your bright smile by showing his own stunning smile.
“Sure! Sounds wonderful to me” you nodded and approved his proposal.
As you two walked down the school corridors and finally down the streets of Musutafu, you talked a lot. There was never a pause in your conversation, not even one. It felt like you had known Yagi for far longer than since this morning. He already even asked you to call him by his first name, Toshinori.
Once you two finally found a coffee shop that seemed nice, you ordered and found a quiet corner where you sat.
You lost all sense of time with him as you talked and enjoyed your coffee and snacks. But so did he. You didn’t notice the other customers around you changing, coming and going. You didn’t notice how the colors of the sky changed while you kept talking, laughing and listening. You conversed about why you both decided to go to the U.A., why you wanted to become heroes, what hobbies you had and about your dreams for your future.
You noticed how dark it had gotten and that it had gotten quiet around you once a waiter came to tell you that they’re closing for the day. You both thanked the waiter and left the coffee shop.
Toshinori offered to walk you home since it had gotten so dark. You gladly accepted. Not because you were scared of walking alone in the dark, but because you wanted to spend as much time with him as possible, even after doing so for so many hours.
You kept talking about this and that, laughing and joking around. You already had some inside jokes together. It seemed like you both had forgotten about the awkward start in this friendship. It had happened this morning, but to you it felt like that was ages ago, but at the same time it felt as if it happened only a few minutes ago. Time seemed to fly with Toshinori.
You finally reached your house. It made you feel a little sad, knowing you’d have to wish him goodnight now. You didn’t want this day to end. It felt so dream-like that you were scared that once you woke up, it would all turn out to be just a dream and he wouldn't be at school tomorrow, not really.
“This is my stop now”, you smiled despite the small melancholic feeling growing in your mind and heart.
“Yeah so it seems”, Toshinori responded with a slightly saddened tone in his voice but he still had a smile on his face.
“Well, goodnight then. I’ll see you tomorrow” you said and turned to leave when you felt a hand grabbing your wrist gently.
“Wait!” Toshinori exclaimed. He looked down at his hand holding your hand and quickly let go. He seemed to blush a little bit.
“I had a wonderful time with you today. And… I really hope that we can do that again sometime. Soon..?” he made the whole statement to sound more like a question with the last word.
“Oh I’d love that” you said, eyes shining brightly with happiness, small blush dusting your cheeks, smiling brightly at him. You seemed to glow with happiness under the streetlamp in front of your house.
“Great! Wonderful!” he said, smiling just as brightly at you. “Alright ´then I’ll see you tomorrow. Goodnight and sweet dreams to you y/n!” he exclaimed cheerily, waving at you, walking backwards in order to leave, but in an attempt to not break eye contact with you until you went inside.
You kept waving back at him until you could only see his silhouette. That’s when you finally went inside to your warm home. You leaned on the door for a small while, letting out a content smile, thinking about your day with Toshinori.
After your night routine, you went straight to your room and laid down on your bed. You took out your diary and started writing everything down, in much more detail than you usually wrote anything.
After you were done with that, you turned off all the lights and laid down onto your back. You weren't sleepy at all. Your mind was still occupied with today’s events, not that you minded. You smiled fondly at your fresh memories. What a lovely way to fall asleep.
Somehow you were sure that this was the beginning of something wonderful.

Thursday 9th of October 2019
You started rolling the sushi. You were never really good at this and you often laughed about it with your husband. You did your best with these sushi though, and went beyond that.
The clock was almost 3 P.M. You still had three hours until Midoriya and his mother would be at your door. That was plenty enough. You only had to finish the sushi and the desserts. You would still have plenty of time left to change from your husband’s oversized clothes to your own, more fitting clothes.
____
It took you a while to finish the sushi, but you finally made it. You decided to start working on the desserts. Now this, this was something you were good at.
You received compliments on your desserts ever since you started making them. Even as a small kid from your parents, they were kinda obliged to do that. Later on in life though, you were amazing at making all kinds of different desserts.
You had decided to bake a cake, chocolate cupcakes and dangos. You had also decided to bake bread to go with the main course. Your hand-made bread was your specialty. It was so good you could have bribed anyone with it. Or at least according to the class 1-A it was that good.
Once you were ready with the desserts, you started getting ready yourself, you still had some time, which was welcome since you weren’t sure about the outfit you were going to wear. Casual? Fancy? Maybe jeans and a blazer? That’s always quite a safe outfit to go with. You decided not to do anything special with your hair, it looked nice just as it was already.
You zoned out while brushing your hair, your eyes never leaving the eyes of your reflection. The nervousness didn't go away, but it didn’t get worse either, it stayed the same. You couldn't help but be a little bit scared thinking what Midoriya’s mother would think about you. You had no reason to be nervous about any of this, but there was just something about it. You didn’t know what. The last time you were this nervous was when you met Toshinori’s parents. Back then you were nervous about whether Toshinori’s mom would approve you as Toshinori’s girlfriend, but now you were nervous whether MIdoriya’s mother would approve you as his “school mom”.
You finished getting yourself ready and went to sit down on an armchair in your living room, waiting for Toshinori and tonight’s guests to arrive. You looked out the window watching more and more fresh raindrops embellishing it and making artwork of their own against the glass. You concentrated on the raindrops, trying to think about something else than your nervousness.

19th of July 1992
It had been raining all day. It didn’t stop at all nor did it rain a little bit less. No, it rained cats and dogs all day. You had all kinds of plans for that day with Toshinori. You were supposed to go out for a coffee, go out for a walk and have a picnic, but mother nature had other plans for that day. But instead you two ended up having a movie marathon, eating all the food you had prepared for the picnic and snuggling under a blanket together. You weren’t complaining, not the slightest. As long as you got to spend time with him, you were happy, whether it was having a picnic or staying inside watching your favorite movies.
Toshinori had come back home from the U.S. a few days before. Ever since then he had the biggest smile on his face the whole time. He never stopped. He had told you about all his experiences in the U.S. and about what a great time he had had there, he still said that he was even happier to be home with you.
You had been together for six years now, and during those six years. It felt like it had been ages since your first meeting, but at the same time it felt like it was yesterday. Yet you two had already gone on many dates, had your first kiss, said your first “I love you”’s, graduated from the U.A., moved in to live together and been far away from each other for a year. Like everyone, you’ve both had your ups and downs and struggled through many things. You’ve also gone through things many people don’t have to go through. But despite all the struggles, you wouldn’t change a thing and your life has seemed to be constant bliss with him. You loved him and you were definitely in love with him.
You got up from the couch in order to go get more snacks from the kitchen. As you were in the kitchen going through the cupboards, you heard Toshinori get up and head to your shared bedroom. You didn’t pay much attention to it though since you were on your noble quest to find your favorite snack that you’d been saving for a little while. You didn’t notice you had gotten company.
As you turned to leave the kitchen you were met with a very familiar figure in front of you. You still jumped a little since it was still a small surprise.
“God Toshi don’t creep around like that!” you giggled and held your chest “You scared me”
Chuckling, he looked at you adoringly “Sorry love, not my intention” he trailed off.
He didn’t move. It was like he was glued to the spot and his eyes were set on you. He seemed to be at a loss for words, which was strange. Like he was too shy to tell you something. You furrowed your brows at him in confusion and started worrying a little bit. Something seemed off.
“You good?” you asked him, worrying more and more by the second. Was he upset? Feeling sick? What was it? Why was he being so weird all of a sudden? What?
“Yeah, yeah! I*m- I’m good. Uh…” he fiddled with his fingers a bit and looked at them.
The last time you saw him like this was long ago. This wasn’t normal. This hadn’t been normal for so long. Did he get a stroke? What’s happening?
He finally let out a long sigh and stopped fiddling with his fingers. He looked at you, with a determined look in his eyes.
“Y/n I-” he cut his speech. He looked like he was calculating something. There was a long pause. Or at least it felt long to you, when in reality it was probably only a few seconds.
You waited in anticipation. Your mind was racing and you were thinking a million thoughts per second, trying to figure out what it was that he wanted to say. You had an idea, but you weren’t quite sure. At this point you weren’t sure you could trust your intuition this time.
Your heart beat so hard in your chest you were sure that Toshinori could hear it.
And then, he finally continued.
“You know, there’s so much I want to say and I’m not sure I can talk that much right now I just- I want to do this now. Right now”
He took your hand in his and went down on his one knee in front of you. He took something out of his pocket; a small, black, velvet box.
“Y/n…” he looked up at you, both nervous and determined at the same time.
There was a small pause.
“Will you marry me?”
The world stopped.
Your eyes locked in the same way that they locked the first time you two met. Only this time there was no embarrassment. No confusion. No other people around you. Just the two of you, in your shared home.
You felt relieved now that you finally heard what he had wanted to say during that moment that felt like it had lasted for a long time now. Your heart kept beating hard and loud. Your breath had hitched in your throat. Tears of joy ran down your face, like the raindrops against the windows. You knew exactly what you wanted to say.
______________
6 months later
“I do”
You smiled wider than you already did as those words left your lips. Toshinori matched your smile with his own. He looked at you lovingly. He looked so happy. And so did you.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride”
You and Toshinori looked at each other, smiling the brightest smiles even the sun would be jealous. You both leaned in and finally, your lips met.
____________________________________________________________________________
Thursday 9th of October 2019
You were smiling to yourself when you heard the front door open. You stood up from your spot and walked towards the source of the sound. You were still nervous, but you were happy nevertheless.
“Hi!” that was all you said at that moment. After a second you realized that maybe you should say something more. “And welcome!”
Smooth aye?
“Hello mrs. Yagi” Midoriya greeted you.
“Please, we’re not at school now. You can call me Y/n” you smiled at him.
He nodded, smiling. He then turned to gesture at the woman next to him.
“This here is my mother”
You turned to look at the woman next to Midoriya. Even without him introducing her to you, you would’ve recognised her as his mother anywhere. Midoriya was almost an exact copy of his mother.
“Hello, lovely to finally meet you” you smiled at her and shook hands with her, bowing your head at her as well.
“Lovely to meet you, too!” she smiled back at you. “Honestly I’m a bit nervous. Visiting the number one hero and his wife’s home! How exciting!”
You noticed that young Midoriya seemed to be a bit embarrassed, but you found all this adorable and amusing in a way. Finally your nervousness started fading away.
“Please come in, the dinner’s ready” you smiled at them. The two went on ahead as you stayed to greet your husband, giving him a peck on the cheek. The two of you followed the two Midoriyas hand in hand.
You all sat down by the table that was full of your homemade goods. It didn’t take long before you already started receiving compliments on your bread -and other food you had made as well-.
The evening went on smoothly. You and Midoriya’s mom got on really well. She seemed to be an amazing mother and a wonderful person in general. She told you stories about Midoriya when he was young, how he was All Might’s biggest fan, how he wanted to be a hero and how he called you his ‘school mom’. Apparently he had told her that. It surprised you a little bit for some reason, but you found it adorable as well.
After you had finished eating dinner and desserts, it was getting late. The rain had finally stopped, but it was already quite dark outside even though there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.
Young Midoriya checked the time and turned to look at his mother.
“It’s getting a bit late so, maybe we should start going”
“Oh? If you wish you can stay longer. It’s not too late. And there’s still tea” Toshinori said, pointing towards the kettle
“Oh no thank you. But thank you, that's very kind of you” Midoriya’s mom responded. “The dinner was amazing! Is this a superpower of yours mrs. Yagi? This is amazing” she looked at you, smiling.
You chuckled. “Thank you very much. I'm glad you liked it” you blushed slightly. “I can give you the recipes if you want?”
Mrs. Midoriya’s eyes seemed to light up. “I- You- Could you really? I’d love that”
You smiled and went to get your recipe book. Once you came back you held it out for mrs. Midoriya to take. “You can have this”
“You’re giving it to me? No, I possibly couldn’t. I’ll give it back to you. Or Izuku will. He’ll give it to you once you two see each other at school. I promise I will take good care of this” she babbled.
“I-it’s fine, yes. No rush though you can keep it as long as you like. Or have it. However you wish” you started blushing yourself a little bit. You felt like you didn’t deserve this kind of recognition from her.
You didn’t see it, but young Midoriya started getting a bit embarrassed by his mom.
“That’s very kind of you m- Y/n. Mom, I really think we should get going, it’s really late and I still have things to do” he said, blushing more and more.
“Yes… yes” mrs. Midoriya said, looking at the recipe book still mesmerized.
You and Toshinori walked Midoriyas to the door and waited for their taxi to come together. Toshinori and young Midoriya went outside and talked.
“You have a wonderful son mrs. Midoriya” you turned to look at her and smiled. “He is very talented and smart. One of the best students I’ve had if I’m honest”
“Th-thank you, I’m very happy to hear that. And please, call me Inko”
You were a bit taken aback by the latter sentence coming out of her mouth, but very happy and relieved. She turned to look at his son who just kept on talking with your husband.
“You know I… Worry about him a lot. He used to get very hurt so often I…” she trailed off, but continued after a moment.
“I know it’s selfish, but I wanted him to stop his hero studies… I was so scared and worried about him. I know All Might is there teaching him and helping him but I just couldn’t help it” she sighed. “But now I know for sure that he’s in good hands” she paused and turned to look at you with a sincere smile on her face.
“I’m happy that you’re his school mom. Please take good care of him when I’m not there to do that”
You froze to look at her. You almost started crying. For some reason her words made you so incredibly happy. You really did see Midoriya like he was your son. He was very important to you. He was just as important and dear to you as he was for Toshinori.
“I promise I will” that was all you could say back to her. You were sure she knew how much her words meant to you. It felt like you both understood each other even when you only looked at each other. Right now you two shared an understanding look and  smiled at each other. She placed her other hand on your shoulder.
“You are an amazing school mom” she said to you and you both chuckled at your now official title.
Their taxi finally arrived. They thanked you for one last time and said their goodbyes, then they left and drove off.
Toshinori wrapped his arm around your waist as you both kept waving at the taxi until you couldn’t see it anymore. He kissed your temple and you both went back inside.
Toshinori did the dishes and you sat by the kitchen table, looking out the window.
“You’re an amazing school mom huh? That’s your official title now right?” Toshinori said after a while.
You chuckled in response. “It seems so, yes. I really dig it though” you turned to look at him.
After you both had finished your chores for the night and were done with your night routines, you went to bed.
Toshinori fell asleep almost right after you had turned off the lights. You stayed awake though. You thought about tonight. You were happy that everything went well. You still smiled at your now official title of Midoriya’s ‘school mom’.
You turned to your side and looked at your sleeping husband. You let your mind wander and think about all the memories you two shared. You gently traced your fingers on his shoulder and drew a heart on it. You smiled at him.
He stirred from his sleep and opened his other eye a little bit. He scooted closer to you and wrapped his arms around you. You gladly leaned in and closed your eyes, enjoying the feeling of having him close to you. He kissed the top of your head gently.
“I love you” he whispered and leaned his chin on top of your head.
“I love you, too Toshi” you whispered back, smiling blissfully.
You felt like the luckiest person in the entire world. You were sure you were the happiest too. You felt like that every day and every night with him.
With this in mind, you finally drifted off to sleep, knowing that you’ll wake up to a new day with the love of your life next to you.

What if I told you that RoobrickMarine went and wrote an entire novella starring my 16th century dog couple? It's very canon-adjacent, well researched and thoughtfully put together, has inspired me a ton during these past months and it's now publicly available at AO3. I highly recommend it.

hi 👋 bsf upstaging bf with choso???
ok i’ve gotten asks for pretty much every other jjk boy on this subject and i want to say something as an overarching theme: all of them ain’t shit. not a single one of them. there’s a scale, some (gojo) are worse than others, but in general, none of them really give a fuck, if that means upstaging, sabotaging, or straight up kicking your boyfriend to the curb so that they can be your boyfriend instead then so be it. but they’re not shit, NONE OF THEM!! but there is a hierarchy and different methods of execution and all that, so here’s where they stand
president and ceo of not being shit: satoru gojo
why would satoru care about your boyfriend? in any and all universes, he is raised in a world where consequences mean nothing to him. so what if he’s a little rude to this guy? so what if he buys you a ridiculously expensive birthday gift that might be seen as romantic? so what if he offers to take you on a vacation that happens to overlap with your boyfriend’s birthday? the worst that will happen to satoru is nothing; the world bends to his whims, never the other way around.
it’s a combination of complete self-confidence + trust in you + getting joy out of bothering people that earns him this number one spot. he’s confident in every sense of the word, so he doesn’t see your boyfriend as a threat. even if satoru didn’t love you romantically, he wouldn’t see a boyfriend as a threat to your friendship either, because he has no doubts in himself—and to the second point, he doesn’t have any in you either: you’ve proven your loyalty to satoru, proven that even when he pisses you off, you still love him, even when you’re dating somebody else, you still make time for him, even when he’s being shitty and stubborn, you don’t kick him to the curb, you just pinch his ear and bring him back down to earth. he’s always chosen you, but you’ve always chosen him, too, so again, what’s to fear when a boyfriend is added to the equation? nothing, because satoru knows this guy can’t earn or replace the loyalty you’ve given him.
and to top it all off, he likes watching your bf grind his teeth. he likes watching this guy have to hold his breath, because what can he say without sounding like an ass—he won’t ask you to tell satoru to fuck off because he hasn’t done anything wrong. treating your best friend to fancy dinners and exotic getaways and designer clothes is just nice when you have money—your bf would be pretty shitty to deny you that. and he’d sound insecure, too. and satoru knows your bf doesn’t have the balls to confront him, and even if he did he’d lose. it’d be embarrassing. so, satoru wins. he always wins. satoru engages in psychological warfare, and he has the physical strength, social power, and financial security to back it up, so he, literally, can never lose. and, sure, having your bf around is annoying, but it’s so much fun to watch other people lose that he lets the guy stick around for a while. you’ll get tired of him and run back to satoru eventually, and he’ll confess this time… hopefully.
vice president: kento nanami
if you expected kento to be lower on this list, think again, because he is just as bad. he’s only second place because he’s not as overt, nor does he wish to actually taunt your boyfriend like satoru would. for kento, you’re just his number one priority. you always have been, ever since you came into his life; it was confusing at first, for him to care so much about you beyond an objective sense of responsibility, but overtime he came to realize that he way he wants to take care of you is different. he doesn’t just want to ensure your comfort and safety physically, he wants to make sure you’re taken care of emotionally, he wants to bear your burdens for you, not just help you through them.
kento is a good friend, a trusted confidant, a reliable person overall, and over the years, he’s inadvertently raised your standards. casual situationships and relationships where you’re not the priority become unappealing when you’ve had someone by your side for so long who’s treated you better than that. if your best friend can buy you flowers, and make reservations at new restaurants, and drive an hour to pick you up in the rain, and cook for you when you’re feeling sick, then why would you tolerate anything less in a romantic partner? these things are the bare minimum to kento, but most other men fall far below average; it’s hard for them to compete where they cannot compare.
so when you do accept a partner, kento is skeptical at best. he knows that what he does for the people in his life isn’t necessarily special, but he doubts that your boyfriend is capable of doing even that—and even if he does meet the standards, he’ll be outclassed anyway. because kento is a good person, but he’ gotten really good at how to be good to you. your boyfriend might get you flowers, but kento already knows your favorites. your boyfriend might send chocolates, but he doesn’t know which ones you’re allergic to, and the brand you prefer; kento does, which is why the ones he bought for you are gone within the week, and the generic box sent over by your boyfriend was re-gifted to satoru. when you voice your doubts about a date your boyfriend mentioned wanting to plan, kento feigns interest, and then innocence when he asks if you’re busy a few days later, if you’d like to help him bake something instead—something he knows you’d much rather do. the short version is—kento knows you, and he uses it to his advantage. he uses the knowledge gained during your friendship to outclass anybody in your dating pool, and he does it so smoothly that it hardly seems intentional or harmful, but it is. which is why he’s just as bad, if not worse, than satoru.
treasurer: megumi fushiguro
there’s actually no au in which megumi isn’t shit because no matter how you square it, he gets it from his daddy. whether he’s raised by just satoru, just toji, or some au where he has them both in his life—the common denominator is that they’re there. if megumi ever did confide in either of them about hating your boyfriend, both satoru and toji would offer the same advice: “can’t you just get rid of him? what’s he got on you?” which is absolutely not how you should parent a child...
megumi might have his doubts about his personality, but he’s never been insecure about his appearance. it’s hard to be when he looks like that, but also when he’s had either toji or satoru (or god forbid, both) in his ear his entire life. he might have some fucked up attachment issues and skepticisms about the general population, but he has a very secure view of himself. so, to start, he’s not impressed by your boyfriend, and is honestly a little offended that you think this guy is objectively more attractive, or that you’re more romantically/sexually attracted to him that you are to megumi—or even, any of your other friends. he’d rather you start dating nobara or yuuji, at least he could live with that because those are pretty people, but your choice in boyfriends… he’s not trying to be mean but you could do better. you’ve done better.
secondly, megumi…. doesn’t care about him. at all. he’s not like satoru in that it brings him happiness to tease your boyfriend, he’s not like kento in that he skews your standards in his favor to nudge your boyfriend out of the picture; megumi literally does not care if this guy lives or dies. your boyfriend could drop dead and megumi would be like damn… that’s crazy… and move on with his life. which is a wild view to have of your best friend’s partner; and it also drives said partner to madness because why the fuck won’t your childhood friend acknowledge his existence?? but again, megumi doesn’t care that his apathy towards your boyfriend bothers him—megumi doesn’t see him, doesn’t know him, doesn’t care to know him, and it drives a wedge in your relationship.
thirdly, megumi is, canonically, a bully to people he doesn’t like. if your boyfriend gets angered enough to the point of confronting megumi, or whining to you, then it’s inconsequential to megumi to hurt him, and he won’t hold back. also on the reverse side, if there was a situation in which your boyfriend was getting hurt or needed help, then megumi is not helping. he’d probably just watch, or join in.
after a while, megumi grows past apathy into exhaustion. he thinks you should do better, he thinks you should know better, he thinks he’s better. and he is. he’ll show you that. (also, he is most likely to try to seduce you into infidelity because he doesn’t care about your boyfriend, so you’re single to him).
first secretary of not giving a fuck: yuuji itadori
jealousy is something that yuuji used to feel guilty about, guilty enough to drive him to confiding in satoru/nanami about his feelings and seeking advice for how to deal with it, because he thought being jealous meant that he was being a bad friend to you. but neither of his mentors are shit, so yuuji learns to adopt the age old mantra: all is far in love and war.
he’s better than satoru in the sense that he doesn’t antagonize your boyfriend, he’s better than kento in the sense that he doesn’t outwardly outclass your boyfriend’s efforts, he’s better than megumi in the sense that he does care about people outside of his immediate circle of friends, and as long as your boyfriend is a human, then yuuji will care about his life; but in all other senses, yuuji is surprisingly neutral, and in some cases, actually worse.
yuuji has two things to his advantage that he absolutely abuses: his likability, and his strength. when it comes to likability, he can just play the friendly, nice guy card. wrapping his arm around your shoulder, twirling you around in a hug, pinching your cheeks, playing with your hair, laying on your lap—he’s just yuuji, he’s just being friendly, he’s just being nice. it’d be pretty shitty of your boyfriend to tell him to be meaner to you, no? ^.^ yuuji is also sneaky with this in that he uses it to say otherwise mean things under the guise of a friendly disguise, and people rarely think otherwise of it. (“it’s fine if you go to the club with us if your bf doesn’t want you to. it’s not like you’re gonna marry him” “are those boxes giving you trouble, man? not surprising, haha!” “you guys didn’t break up yet? aw... i mean... well, no i meant that, but come on, let’s take shots!” all said with a smile that looks like this 😇😇 on his face)
in terms of strength, it’s an unbeatable challenge for your boyfriend—because even if he gets pissed off at yuuji being too close to you, too affectionate with you, too sweet to you, what’s he gonna do? because he certainly can’t beat yuuji in a fight—he couldn’t even beat yuuji in a race, he couldn’t even beat yuuji at mario kart, so there’s nothing for your boyfriend to do but shutup and wallow.
second secretary: yuuta okkotsu
does he need an explanation… does mr. “how rude, this is pure love” need an explanation… does mr. “i will kill itadori yuuji myself” need an explanation… does mr. “i won’t let sensei kill his best friend again, [i’ll do it myself]” need an explanation… hasn’t he already proved himself as the single most loyal and contently insane person on the planet…
once you have yuuta’s loyalty, you have it forever. not even for life, because he’d find a way to transcend space and time to protect you in the next one. even if, for some reason, you didn’t want it anymore, you have it; yuuta’s love is final sale, no exchanges or returns. the only reason he’s not ranked to be worse than megumi or yuuji is because yuuta has one grave disadvantage: he is not normally confrontational, and is the definition of anxious LOL. he’d feel bad if he didn’t make an effort to get to know your boyfriend, but that doesn’t mean he has to like him...
yuuta might know that he has feelings for you, but he’s honestly content with a platonic relationship if that’s how you choose to express it towards him. if you want to be friends, then he’s your friend; your love is that pure and vital to him, that he takes it in whatever form he gets it. he’s desperate for you in a way that has him completely at your whim; he doesn’t need reciprocity to love you, just knowing you, and knowing you accept his love is more than enough. keeping him around as friend, keeping him in your life, keeping him in your mind—that’s all yuuta could truly ever want. so, even when you have a boyfriend, it stings a bit at first, but as long as you still have the same amount of room in your life for yuuta, then he won’t do any harm to this guy.
unless: (a) your boyfriend makes it difficult for yuuta to have access to you, (b) your boyfriend outrightly ticks yuuta off, or (c) the worst option, your boyfriend does something to hurt you or make you sad, then he’s off yuuta’s radar completely. he won’t confront, and he won’t intervene. but if any of those conditions are not met, even for a second, then your boyfriend is as good as gone and there’s little anyone, yourself included, can do to stop him.
honorable board members: choso kamo, toji fushiguro, toge inumaki
everything about choso is on sight. it takes one wrong move, the slightest misstep, even a breath out of place and he will end your relationship and your boyfriend’s life if he has to. choso does not play when it comes to the people he loves, he won’t stand for you being hurt or mistreated in any way. there’s no subtle psychological warfare, there’s no shovel talk, there’s no blame game: choso sees something wrong, and he takes it upon himself to correct it. your partners have one chance to treat you right, or they’ll wish they hadn’t met choso to begin with.
toji doesn’t really chase people, but you have always been the exception. he hates to admit it, but he’ll follow you anywhere you go, not caring for whoever else you decide to bring along. if the journey of your life is a car ride, toji always calls shotgun, and he doesn’t really care who else gets in the backseat, until they ask him to get out of his—then there’s a problem. and he’s never once felt bad about turning some guy into a hitchhiker.
the greater good should be thankful that toge takes a voluntary vow of silence, because if he said even half of the things that were on his mind, the world might, quite literally, be set on fire. toge doesn’t care—not like megumi, him not caring isn’t apathy towards the life or death of other people, he just doesn’t care what reaction his actions pull out of people. you’ve told him it’s annoying when he pinches your cheeks and steals your boba, but that won’t stop him from doing it, esp not when you look so cute when you’re angry. yeah, he knows people get annoyed by his pranks, but that’s whatever. he knows your boyfriend hates when toge’s around you, but he doesn’t care. if it brings toge joy, he’ll do it. honestly, even if it doesn’t bring him joy, he’ll do it because he wants to. he’s not immune to consequences like satoru, he simply doesn’t care about them! he’ll just deal with it, he’s got a high tolerance for it—your boyfriend, however, seems like a weakling, so toge will simply outlast him. he’s outlasted all the others :)
