I already saw someone writing this but I wanted to try to see your take on it.
What about Neuvillette x Melusine reader? (Of course platonic relatioship) Where Neuvillette meets male Melusine who is visibly taller with, maybe, darker colors than other female Melusines? I just find this idea very interesting (^^) (Get well soon 💙)

★ 📝 — notes: I wanted to actually do something like this a while ago with a Melusine reader but just never got to it with my other ideas l liked more, and I'm almost 100% sure which other writing you're referring to. I like how you interpret how a male Melusine would look like too, and ty ^^
I also may have gotten a little too carried away with this so that's my bad, I hope it's still good though

                     " A Male Melusine and Neuvillette "
Tumblr media
Neuvillette loved the Melusines, all of Fontaine knew that, and he knew pretty much all of the Melusines by name, so when he came across you, he was slightly confused. You were.. a male Melusine?
When he saw you, you were communing with another Melusine and you looked visibly taller with darker skin colors than the females. When you were done with your conversation, he walked up to you and you turn around, smiling at him.
"Hello, Monsieur Neuvillette!" Neuvillette smiles at this, moving his hand to rest on your head, giving you little pats.
"Hello, and what would your name be?" He asked, moving his hand away.
"I'm [name]," you reply, turning your body to him. Neuvillette nods.
"Well then, [name], why don't you tell me about yourself?"
You happily obliged, smiling while doing so. You and Neuvillette eventually start to walk around Fontaine, you explaining how you seem to be the first and only male Melusine, confirming Neuvillettes guess. After you two met and separated to go your respective ways, you guys meet more after that. You mainly talked with him while out on the streets, but you sometimes helped him with other things like sorting papers or delivering stuff to him, and it seems he took a liking to you.
He didn't like the other Melusines less, don't get him wrong, but just the fact that you were a male Melusine interested him and it seemed like you two almost had something like a 'father-son' relationship. The other Melusines were quick to notice with all the miniscule details they can see, but weren't mad at all. They just smiled and moved on, no envy present.
Whenever you greeted him or said goodbye, saying something like "Salut, Monsieur Neuvillette!" He would reciprocate it with little head ruffles or headpats while smiling and saying the hi/goodbye back. He would also give you headpets when you did something for him or whenever he felt like it. You also followed him around when you could, sometimes rambling to him about things while he listened. Onlookers, Melusines and Humans alike, would always have their day brightened at the sight.
One time he even picked you up and held you while you were sad, and it became a habit whenever you were sad and he'd sit down somewhere with you in his arms. Whenever he was sad, you'd hug his torso while looking up at him with a frown.
"Neuvillette..?" You murmur, your mitten-shaped hands holding onto said man. He looked over and sighed, the rain outside easing slightly.
     "Yes, [name]?"
"Are you alright?" You ask as he sets you on his lap, since he was in his chair.
"I am simply not at my highest right now-" he was cut off by you hugging him and burying your face into his chest. He smiled and hugged you back, resting his face on the top of your head and the rain stopped soon after as Neuvillette forgot his worries for a short while.
Long story short, you and Neuvillette have a close bond, and with you two being different from the society you're from bringing you closer together. ✧

On the subject of consent in recent BLs
In this analysis, I will take a look at several love scenes in recent Thai BLs, how they frame consent and the sexual agency of the characters, and why those matter.
(KinnPorsche deserves its own post: I’m sure people have already written in detail about how much emphasis is placed on issues of consent/non-consent throughout the show and how fundamental consent is to the relationship arcs of both KinnPorsche and VegasPete, and I won’t belabor the point here. Also, special shout-out to The Warp Effect for what it brought to the conversation about gay sex, but TWE isn’t technically a BL so I decided not to include it in this analysis.)
I am going to take a closer look at the following shows in this essay: Not Me, The Eclipse, A Boss And A Babe, Step By Step, and La Pluie.
Not Me and The Eclipse predate the other shows by two years/one year respectively, but I feel it is valuable to include them here because both show very explicit negotiations of consent that I feel are spiritual successors to the wonderful scenes we’ve been getting in the other three shows.
Why am I even writing this? There used to be an unfortunate tendency in the genre to have a power imbalance between the “seme” and the “uke” character, which translated into the seme deciding when to have sex and what kind of sex to have—and even though recently, several shows have done good work in dismantling the seme/uke dynamic and questioning the associated stereotypes, it cannot be denied that the archetypes are still an important part of most BLs, and even in cases where the tropes are played with and questioned, understanding those subversions still requires a knowledge of and familiarity with the original tropes on the part of the audience.
However, gone are the days of Until We Meet Again and Dean’s “I’ve waited long enough, make sure you’re ready.” (I enjoyed UWMA a lot but that was. Yeah. Not Great.) Now, we see characters actually talking about and negotiating their limits, and doing what feels good to them.
Let’s start from the very beginning. Not Me was an absolute trailblazer in this regard, and not mentioning it here would be a gross oversight. The first time Sean and White have sex, it happens in their version of the beach episode. (Which, in Not Me, is the two characters briefly living in a tent inside an abandoned building. This show is the best.) Sean and White are removed from their usual environment and protected from the outside world by two barriers: the walls of the old house and the tent that’s literally enveloping them and giving them a space that is unequivocally theirs, shared, in which neither one of the characters has any sort of power over the other. And what happens in that space when they’re about to have sex is extremely interesting: the first thing Sean asks is whether White is afraid of him, which White denies. The following exchange goes like this: White: "So, what are we doing?" Sean: "What should I do to you?" White: "That’s up to you." (Watch the whole scene here.)
I find this exchange incredibly meaningful because this already turns the seme/uke dynamic that can be found in a lot of other shows on its head. OffGun as a branded pair can easily be stereotyped into the seme/uke dynamic just because of their physical appearances, and clearly spelling out that both characters have agency in this scene is incredibly important.
And then it gets better! Sean assumes that White is sexually inexperienced (which is not true but the fact that White was actually in a relationship with a woman back in Russia never comes up again after the pilot episode, so maybe the show expects us to assume this, too), and suggests they try different things and White can tell him what he likes and doesn’t like. Compared to the stuff we’re getting now, this scene isn’t very high heat at all, but it’s one of my favorite intimate scenes ever because them asking each other “Do you like this?” after every kiss, every touch, is so incredibly unique and transports a wonderful sense of figuring out sexual pleasure together, as a couple.
Sex in Not Me is not something one character does to another, it is something that is discovered and shared together, and we even get an afterglow scene in which they gently tease each other about their fast beating hearts. (And don’t get me started on the importance of White choosing to ask Sean whether Sean is okay with White not being like Black in that moment right before they have sex, because he doesn’t actually want to have sex with Sean as Black! He wants to discover and share intimacy with Sean as White, as himself, not as his brother! The layers!)
Anyway, I think that scene paved the way for a lot of the conversations around consent we’re now getting in BL, just because it is so explicitly, unashamedly putting forward a definition of sexuality that has nothing to do with one character actively giving and the other passively receiving, but frames intimacy as something that is built together. (More on giving and receiving later!)
Now, moving on to The Eclipse. I decided to include the first time Akk and Aye have sex for a different reason: while we don’t really see them actually talking about consent, we see them practicing non-verbal consent. Let me explain. Akk’s and Aye’s whole thing is teasing each other. At first, Aye is usually the one doing the teasing, but Akk gets the hang of it towards the end of the show and teases his boyfriend right back. When they’re in Akk’s childhood bedroom together, Aye clearly alludes to the fact that he thought they might use this opportunity to have sex for the first time, which Akk pretends not to understand, all while alluding to it himself. I love this guy. (Watch the whole scene here.) Anyway, Akk says he wants to sleep, lies down and once again, tells Aye jokingly he just wants to sleep, clearly expecting Aye to do what other BL protagonists do at that point and not take no for an answer (sidenote: I HATE the “saying no as foreplay” trope with a passion and as far as I’m concerned it should die already).
However, Aye is not like other BL love interests, and he backs off. He stops touching Akk, lies down with his back to Akk, showing Akk that he takes him by his word: if Akk says he wants to sleep, Aye is going to let him do just that. So now, it’s on Akk to say that, no, that’s not what he meant, can Aye please come back to cuddle. And then Akk is the one to escalate from cuddling to kissing, which is extremely important: we know that Aye has been ready to have sex with Akk since forever, it’s Akk who’s been having hangups about intimacy this whole time.
They don’t put consent into so many words on this show, but Aye shows Akk that he respects his limits and that Akk only has to tell him he doesn’t want to do something and Aye will take him at his word.
So, these are, to me, two foundational scenes of establishing consent: one that shows consent as something that is established verbally, as an ongoing conversation, and one that shows consent as something that is established physically, by showing your partner that you respect their choices and limits by way of simply acting accordingly.
Now, let’s get into the fun part: scenes we got so far in 2023. I’m writing this post on the 13th of June, and I’m sure this year still has some great things in store for us, especially because Step By Step and La Pluie are both ongoing and neither of the main couples are actually together yet at time of writing. However, they’ve both already given us AMAZING scenes on the topic of consent, so I feel it is worthwhile to write about those already.
I want to start off by talking about A Boss And A Babe.
Let me just preface this by saying that the intimate scenes in ABAAB are some of my all time favorites in BL ever, because in them, sex is something that is just so normal. When Gun and Cher have sex, we don’t see them very passionate, excited, reluctant or wide-eyed innocent (which are some of the emotions traditionally associated with sex in BL). On the contrary, in every single scene that shows them being intimate, both characters are incredibly calm. They’re certainly happy to be with each other, but in a subdued way. Someone described their second intimate scene as them seeming like they’ve been married for a few years. They’re both just… incredibly normal about having sex with each other. It’s simply something they like to do together. It’s a part of their romance but it’s not more or less important than any other aspects of their lives.
And consent is at the very heart of it.
When Gun and Cher have their first time, we see Gun explicitly asking for consent two times: first, “Can I kiss you?”, then, “Can I do more?” The second one even comes with the promise that if Cher says no, Gun will immediately go to sleep without mentioning it again. And then it is on Cher to say yes, to pull Gun close and kiss him to show him that he is comfortable with taking things further. (In the show, these two questions were shown apart from each other, I cut together a version of the whole First Time Scene in its entirety, watch it here.)
Now, things get more interesting: the second intimate scene shows Cher initiating the encounter (watch the whole scene here). Cher pretty consistently falls into the uke category, both physically and as far as characterization is concerned, but he’s certainly not shy in the bedroom. And this time, he’s the one who asks for consent from Gun: Gun asks “You’re starting it?” and Cher’s response is “Can I?” Despite him being framed physically lower than Gun, basically at Gun’s mercy, he still seeks confirmation that Gun is okay with the way things are going. Not to overstate it, but to me, this feels revolutionary. Once again, we’re being shown that sex is something two people do together, as a shared activity, and that the “seme” character isn’t expected to just be up for it. He, too, has the right to say no.
On this show, sexual agency is taken extremely seriously, and it is clear that both Gun and Cher give each other space to decide what they’re comfortable doing. This is shown in non-intimate scenes as well: there are so many moments on ABAAB in which the characters negotiate physical touch and closeness, asking each other for hugs before actually hugging each other, Cher leaning on Gun’s shoulder in the car but not allowing Gun to touch him because that’s not what he’s comfortable with in that moment, and so on. (The only exception to this otherwise pretty consistent rule is the kiss in the car scene, which I’m still extremely confused about because it seems to go completely against Gun’s character. Who knows what happened there.)
Of course, the fact that so much emphasis is placed on negotiation and consent isn’t surprising on a show that has such obvious kink undertones and whose Our Skyy 2 entry basically consisted entirely of Dom/sub roleplay at work—I’m just saying, I think someone on the writing team is way into BDSM and knows all about the importance of enthusiastic consent from all parties involved, and I would like to send them flowers.
Step By Step hasn’t really reached the point where we can analyse the dynamic between the main couple (although we can take some educated guesses based on the interactions we’ve seen so far). However, last week’s episode had an extremely important scene between Pat and Put: Pat wanting to have sex with Put, then changing his mind mid make-out (watch the whole scene here). I really like the way this scene was done. No matter how shitty Put treats Pat at times, in this instance, he immediately understood and respected Pat’s change of mind without Pat even saying or explaining anything—at the end of the episode, Put says to Pat that Pat should tell Put when he feels ready to have sex. (We already know this will never happen because of course, Pat and Put are not endgame, but I do appreciate the sentiment.)
BLs rarely include a whole storyline in which the protagonist is in an actual, serious romantic relationship with someone other than his endgame love interest (hi Moonlight Chicken!), or if they do then just to up the angst factor. In this case, however, I feel that this scene raises our expectations for Jeng even further: if the guy who is definitely not a romantic match for Pat treats Pat with this much respect in the bedroom, then Jeng has to do at least that and then some. I do feel confident that Jeng won’t disappoint in this regard, but it’s fascinating to see a show frame this kind of respect as the absolute baseline minimum, with the endgame love interest expected to do even better.
Now, the one you’ve all been waiting for. The one that made me write this whole essay in the first place: La Pluie.
Oh boy. Where to start.
A week ago, we got an incredible make-out scene on Saengtai’s floor, which ended in Patts stopping the encounter because he could tell Tai wasn’t really comfortable taking things further—@bengiyo talked about that scene in detail here. And then, three days ago, La Pluie gave us the most unique, trope-defying, timeline-changing blowjob scene of all time, and I want to talk about it.
Tai and Patts are making out on their bed, Tai is not ready to go “all the way” and stops Patts from undressing him. We see a very realistic frustrated reaction from Patts, who nevertheless immediately stops and accepts Tai’s wishes—it is clear that Patts does not expect things to go any further at this point, and that he won’t pressure Tai into anything.
And then, Tai offers to blow him.
(Unfortunately, this show is only on iQiyi so I can't link to it, but you can get a good impression of the scene here.)
I mentioned the concepts of giving and receiving earlier: other people have said this more eloquently than me, but there is a tendency not only in BL but also in wider society to view sex in terms of giving and receiving, with a lot of expectations and stereotypes attached to the roles during different sexual acts. On other shows, that blowjob might be framed as a consolidation or an apology, something that the giver does out of a sense of obligation without enjoying it much. Not so on La Pluie! Tai is shown incredibly happy and satisfied afterwards, both when they’re sleeping next to each other, as well as on the morning after (see also @ginnymoonbeam's post about that here). Tai offered to blow Patts because he simply wanted to, not motivated by guilt or anything of that sort. And he genuinely enjoyed it! In the post I linked above, @bengiyo points out that La Pluie consistently centers queer desire, or more specifically in this case, male desire for a male body; much in the same way that the camera fucking loves Force’s body on ABAAB: the sensuality of the skin, the hands, the abs, the flat chests, the broad backs and shoulders of these men is explicitly emphasized, and Tai’s desire for a dick in his mouth is made absolutely crystal-clear. Of course, since this is a TV show and not a porno, we only see Patts’s thumb in Tai’s mouth instead of his dick, but the imagery, the implications, are clear as day.
And it is such a gentle framing, too: Patts caresses Tai’s lip lovingly, Tai opens his mouth slowly, seductively, then faces Patts’s crotch with a soft look on his face. We do get a clear sense of this encounter as tender, and gentle, and most of all, desired. Tai’s queer desire is at the heart of this scene, and at the heart of the afterglow scene as well. He wanted this man’s dick in his mouth, openly suggested it, showed Patts he was sure about his decision after Patts asked him whether he was, and ended up clearly happy and satisfied with the sex they had. This post, also by @bengiyo, goes into more detail on that.
This, once again, shows us sex as a conversation rather than a series of predetermined acts, shows us sex as a shared activity, as something that can be wonderful and intimate and make people happy without following what society views as “the correct steps”. I think this is extremely important because one part of queer identity is figuring out one’s own relationship to sexuality, one’s own desires and needs, and BLs that ignore this aspect fall a little short in my opinion. Sure, those men are kissing, but do they experience queer desire? Do they experience joy in their queer desire?
For me personally, a show that does not shy away from these questions is a lot more meaningful than a show that does, and consent is at the heart of it all. By framing sex as a conversation, as something that is built and shared together, the shows I looked at here are actively positioning themselves against the idea that there should be predetermined roles for partners during sex, and instead suggest that queer joy can be found in communication and consent. Understanding sex and intimacy as something that is built together, with both partners as equals in conversation, is just as radically queer as a man waking up with a smile on his face after giving his soulmate a blowjob the previous night.
And quite honestly, a male character who clearly, passionately, unquestioningly communicates that he wants a dick inside of him—that is incredibly sexy. But maybe that’s just me.

*Crawls out of the sewers to make a request*
Yoo! Hope you're having a good day, make sure to drink lots of water!
As for the request, would do you mind doing a romance pining headcanons Transformers Prime Bumbleee and Optimus Prime (separately, of course) for a human charge? The bots would develop a crush on the reader, and how would they're pining be-? Most of their time pining, he human charge would be oblivious to their advances (if there are any) and would just brush it off as them being friendly? Despote the human charge having mutual feelings for the bot as well.
Apologies for my bad english, and I'm not really good at describing stuff, so pardon if it seemed weird or something-
Anyways, thank you for your time!
A/N: Your english is great! I think you were able to communicate your idea just fine.

It's not that he's afraid of expressing his true feelings to you, it's that he's hesitant on whether he should. You already have such a massive target painted on your back just by being under his watch, to start dating you would raise the stakes higher than you'd ever know. Of course that isn't to mention whether he'd have the time and energy to be your partner.
Yes, he sees you every day because you're his charge, but if you were to make your relationship romantic, he would need to be present and available in your life outside of decepticon-related issues. He is uncertain whether he has the time to, though he understands that he has a capable team who are well willing to break their own backs just to give him some time off, he doesn't want them to go to such lengths.
So while there's no verbal confession right away, or for any time soon, he's much more talkative with you and attentive to your every need—not overly so, but enough that it's noticeable. And however you spend patrols with him—whether it be listening to music as you drive, or just sitting in silence—words are what fill the silence as you meander down the road.
At times he'd dream about life with you, and in those dreams the war is the least of his concerns. In those dreams he thinks about how he could make his schedule align with yours, he thinks about how you might enjoy this one activity, or this one place on Cybertron. And at times he finds bits of his dreams even seeping into his waking thoughts as he finds himself wondering about your well-being on a day you're elsewhere.

Surprisingly it's rather difficult to tell that he likes you because he's already so friendly towards you, but it's not inherently impossible if you can read the signs. Firstly, he's a lot more expressive around you—and while that may be surprising to hear given the fact he's already a very expressive person, I mean "more expressive" as in he seems even more enthusiastic and happy around you (even more than either of you knew was possible).
You can see it in the way he tries to keep you around, and the way that he admires stares at you for a bit longer than is considered acceptable by your societal norms. Especially whenever you go out on patrol with him, it almost feels like the seat belt around you is hugging you in a way, but you could also pass that off as he's just trying to make sure you're nice and secure.
His confession is very shy, yet there's something so endearing when it comes to seeing him offer you a hand-made Valentine's day card. The cover of the card is simple, yet the inside is what really stands out to you the most. The inside details his feelings for you—not in any showy or verbose way, but in a few straightforward and simple sentences. Yet each word is teeming with his unexpressed adoration for you, and his hesitance barely conceals the fear of your rejection, and yet he's still brave enough to look at you as if to ask "well, what do you say?"

I just realized that I forgot to send what I wrote to the translator, so I'm writing again .I really like the ideas of a dear with such poor eyesightthat she can hardly see beyond a couple of centimeters . This is very convenient for Yandere, because if she behaves badly, they just need to take off their glasses. + makes an escape attempt very difficult Sorry to write this again 😭
You're fine! I actually know like a very small amount of Russian so I was like trying to challenge myself to read without using Google and managed to recognize a few words which was fun 🤭
And that's literally me, I remember the first time I went to the eye doctor as a teen and tested my sight he was literally so baffled he outright asked me "how have you gotten by this long like this" 💀💀
---
Obviously the worst would be either Kaeya or Childe because they find your impairment very cute and will make your life all the worse for it. Taking your glasses away is not even so much as a means of control for Childe, he just genuinely finds it funny and endearing to watch you struggle. It's just one of many things he does to mess with you, along with putting things you need way out of your reach and hiding your stuff and making you do favors or say sweet (and embarrassing) things to him to get it back. Because it's less a control thing and more pure amusement, though, he's more likely to occasionally relent and give it back to you when you need it.
For Kaeya its both control and amusement, so the same is not true — in fact, he most likely outright throws them away for good. Anything you really need that your natural vision prevents, he can just do for you, and now you'll be forced to ask nicely. But he absolutely will do little things to mess with you.
Diluc just decides you've seen enough for one lifetime. Off they go. You wake up one day and they're not where you set them down and he just shrugs off any accusations from you, but doesn't deny them. It's actually a part of his borderline obsessive fixation with moulding you the perfect wife-y version of you he's constructed in his head. That version of you has no need for them. What do you need good vision for? Seeing things?? Looking at other people?? Navigating the world outside? None of these are approved activities. You don't really need great vision for cooking and cleaning and laying on your back with open legs and other more suitable things. You'll adjust just fine.
If you're farsighted and really want to read a book (which, as long as it's approved reading material, is fine, ideal even as it's a sedentary activity), you may ask very nicely and you may temporarily have them back. You can, however, "negotiate" with him by making it backfire on him, such as "accidentally" getting juice confused with rat poison you give to him. Do this sort of thing enough times and he may relent to let you have them a little bit more often... but still only with permission.
Albedo is actually similar to Childe and Kaeya in that he finds it amusing. He's just not as outwardly teasing about it, rather, he tends to quietly observe with a faint smirk watching you struggle. Him taking them away shouldn't really come as a surprise though, seeing as he's the worst candidate for limiting your capabilities in general. Like, having your glasses taken away actually kind of pales in comparison to being rendered permanently lame or having your entire body temporarily paralyzed when you're being mean to him. He already takes every conceivable opportunity to render you as helpless and dependent as possible, this is just another aspect of that, and the primary reason for doing so. Doesn't mean he doesn't also find it cute, though. He's just not going to outwardly say anything to belittle you about it... unless you're being bad, in which case, a few dry-humored jabs might be warranted.
But most surprisingly, Baizhu of all people has the audacity to use it to his advantage. Total betrayal from someone you would have thought understood Universal Glasses-Haver Solidarity. But perhaps that is why he does it, he knows just how inconvenient and limiting it can be, thereby viewing it as a fairly strong leverage in his favor. Besides, you did earn it when you tried to poison him. Have fun reading labels on the medicinal jars on high shelves now.
Should you ever bring up the inherent hypocrisy of keeping you deprived, he merely says it was a necessary act for your own well-being and his alike. He has a tendency to bounce back and forth between how strict he is — he has a soft spot for you and wants to be lenient and trusting, but his self-awareness of his own physical condition and potential weaknesses make him paranoid enough that once he's decided on something like that, he likely won't go back on the decision.

Is Shadow being immortal canon? I thought it was just a generally accepted headcanon by the fandom
...Yes?
The pause and questionmark are not directed at you, they are directed at Sega.
I confess, I'm a bit of a stickler for what lore I consider canon. If it's in the games, it's canon to me. If it's anything outside of the games, including the game manuals themselves... then it's not.
I have such a narrow-bracket view of the story and these characters due to two things:
1: There seems to be a disconnect between the different 'branches' of the Sonic Franchise. There's the Shadow we see in games, there's the Shadow we see in marketing and social media (like Twitter Takeover), There's the Shadow we see in IDW, and then there is the Shadow we see Sega write about in character profiles like on Sonic Chanel and the official Sonic the Hedgehog website. This exists with all the characters to a degree, but I feel Shadow presents an egregious case of it. 2: Sega has a tendency to retcon things or change their language or act like stuff didn't happen and... I don't like it XD But they can't change games that have already been published and played. As such, to me, in-game dialog/play/story/etc is the crowning jewel of truth within the Sonic story.
But that these are *my* paramaters. They do not have to be *your* parameters.
So while there hasn't been any mention of immortality *in game*, there has been plenty *outside* of it. Lots of different official Sega sources say Shadow is 'immortal', but no examples or specifications have been provided in game. There's also plenty of times the whole 'immortality' portion is omitted. Most noticeably, it's not mentioned in the Sonic Channel character profile, nor the character profile provided on the official Sonic the Hedgehog website. At best, it is mentioned intermittently in game manuals and external sources.
(And I know we see Shadow in stasis in 06- I'm aware- but I'll also point out we don't know *when* he went into stasis. Furthermore, I cannot help but wonder if, much like Black Doom in SHtH, Mephiles took a portion of truth and twisted it to scare Shadow. (Also, like.... Shadow was under such heavy security when GUN put him down for an ice nap the first time. Why would they just leave him out and about like was shown in 06? I doubt the truth of what Mephiles shows Shadow.))
I actually reached out to @squid-in-a-party-hat, @fyeahsonicthehedgehog (x), and @forgottensonicfacts (x), as well as some friends of mine like @shadamyheadcanons for help collecting information to provide you with as well-rounded answer/opinion as I can. In fact, Squid has a video on this very subject XD They do a great job of weaving together all the different types of canon (comic, anime, social media, etc) so if that's how you prefer to operate, I really, really recommend them.
Anyway, Here are some game manual examples in chronological order.
SA2 (2001):
Tumblr media
Sonic Heros (2003):
Tumblr media
And...I want to take a moment to show something interesting between the original Japanese and the English translation. The japanese translation says 'unaging and undying' which gives us narrower guidelines, but the Heros profile is the only time I've seen that.
Shadow the Hedgehog (2005):
Tumblr media
Which OUT OF ALL OF THEM you'd think it would be mentioned in his title game but like... *gestures*
Sonic 06 (2006):
Tumblr media

Then there are these online examples, stemming from both Sonic Chanel and the Sonic the Hedgehog Website. They are both officially owned and operated by Sega/Sonic Team. Note they don't mention his age or the immortality at all.

Sonic Chanel, 2022:

This is the character profile put up on the Sonic the Hedgehog website 2024, separate from Sonic Channel but still official.

(In talking to @forgottensonicfacts- I had asked about times Shadow had been called 'ageless' or '50.' Turns out the 'ageless' bit was written in a Scholastic's book and, so far as anyone has found.. there is no official mention of Shadow being listed as '50 years old.' I had been so sure it had been officially listed at one point in time. Really glad to be wrong on that one, frankly, because that would have been daft XD)
So this is what we have about Shadow's 'immortality' that has been put out by Sega themselves. Not the comics, not the media team, just Sega/Sonic Team.
Now... this is where I pick apart that word 'Immortal' and broaden the scope a bit.
Not to be 'that bastard,' but I popped on to the Oxford Dictionary just to get a concrete definition for you and they define the adjective use of the word as being, "living forever; never dying or decaying."
1- Shadow's already almost died. He *would* have died were it not for Eggman saving his sorry ass. We know this. It's a whole-ass plot point in his story because it's due to this he ends up with amnesia.
2- Even though Gerald was tinkering with immortality, that doesn't mean he succeeded. We also don't know how that immortality would look/work/act like.
3- In Sonic Battle (for Gameboy), several of the characters have a healing ability. Shadow is one of them. However, Shadow's healing ability is one of if not *the worst in the game.* Also, in the story itself, he get shot and is down for the count *for a while*.
4- We have not seen any of the characters physically change in game save for the big age up/design shift that happened when Sonic went 3d in Adventure. As such, we cannot personally test/see whether or not Shadow goes through any changes at all, be them aging or just changes to their body.
So... all in all... I feel this leaves a huge amount of room for interpretation.
Maybe Shadow isn't immortal after all. Nothing spectacular, it's just that portion of the Ultimate Life Form project didn't succeed.
Maybe the 'immortality' is his healing factor, and it needs to willfully be employed. As such, if Shadow WANTS to age, they need to intentionally and willfully allow themselves to do so by NOT employing the healing factor.
Maybe the 'immortality', being the healing factor, can wear down/slow down over time, especially due to overuse.
Maybe Shadow can live forever barring any really traumatic physical harm, but their body will physically change over time.
Maybe Shadow is immortal like how Oxford puts it, but there is a way to stop that perminantly if they so choose (like genetic therapy).
Maybe Shadow is immortal in the sense that they will never physically age, grow, or change. Ever.
Truthfully, that's pretty cool! Like, this gives people a lot of stuff to work with and play around with, compare notes, talk- that's the fun part of fandom! And no singular person is right! @shadamyheadcanons has this one that's fun. I personally like the idea that Shadow's 'immortality' wears down over time and gets weird, causing their Black Arms genetics to kick off (like a third eye ooooough gimmie gimmie gimmie.)
I don't know if this was the answer you were looking for. Perhaps I've just confused things further- I've been known to do that XD
Ultimately, what I'm trying to say is- it's whatever you want it to be, and nobody can stop you <3 So go have fun!

AO3 Twenty Questions
tagged by @ladytanithia. a big thank you, as always!
tagging @inkoherentwriting, @azures-grace and YOU, dear reader
(copy/paste for the questions below the cut)
1 – How many works do you have on AO3?
Four, not counting the work I published as a reference list for my OCs.
2 – What's your total AO3 word count?
84,627
3 – What fandoms do you write for?
Just TES:Skyrim for the moment. Sadly, I haven't been able to play any of the other games just yet.
4 – What are your top five fics by kudos?
Tumblr media
I'm dying for Among the Many Lost Souls to surpass Sought and Found. It was my first venture into longform writing and it shows. Bleh.
5 – Do you respond to comments?
Almost always. If I don't respond, it's usually because I tried my darndest and couldn't think of a constructive or meaningful response.
6 – What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
The one I'm writing right now :3c (Among the Many Lost Souls). I'm putting Gwilin through the wringer and then I'm gonna hang him out to dry.
7 – What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Sought and Found, I suppose.
8 – Do you get hate on fics?
No, I don't. I lowkey wish I did. Firstly, because haters can be remarkably perceptive, and, secondly, because I am as interested in what makes someone scrunch up their nose or click away from my fic as I am about hearing people's thoughts on what was well-executed about them. I think my stuff is too niche to really draw a lot of negative attention (right now, at least).
9 – Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Always, my man! I consider it my moral duty to make my characters fuck nasty. Why? BECAUSE IT'S HOT DUHHH
10 – Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
People who write crossovers scare me so bad. I can barely limp my way through having to structure a plot around already-existing lore and making sure everything that happens in the story is congruent with in-universe rules, meanwhile there are people out there writing Skyrim x The Walking Dead crossovers. It's cocobananas.
11 – Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know. I don't really give a fuck if people steal my shit. Fighting with someone over authorship of a work that is principally riding on the coattails of an existing IP, which can't even be monetized, mind you, feels like a real 'race to the bottom' situation to me. I'm well aware of the quality of my work and I'm proud to have the drive to constantly better my skills. That's all that matters.
12 – Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope. Though I did start translating Sought and Found into Spanish, I dropped it when I started writing Among the Many Lost Souls. In any case, I would be so, so touched if someone decided to translate a fic of mine.
13 – Have you ever co-written a fic?
Also nope. Never tried collaborative writing outside of an academic setting. Totally open to it, though!
14 – What's your all-time favorite ship?
Uh, I'm not real big on shipping existing characters. I mostly just think about my OCs, or my friend's OCs, with each other. Aside from Gwilin x [pretty much every other NPC in Skyrim], I think thoughts about @abstractredd's guys, Hedgrod and Athrar, quite often.
15 – What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Fic-related WIP? Just one. I wanted to write another romance fic (like Sought and Found) featuring a netch farmer who's a cowboy-type character. Sexy Dunmer with a southwestern accent. Brokeback Mountain: Morrowind Edition. You get the picture.
I might still finish it, but I'm reluctant to even touch it because I haven't played Morrowind, and would have to do a real deep-dive into everything related to Dunmer in TES lore to write it. I know a lot already, but I never feel like I know enough, y'know?
16 – What are your writing strengths?
I've been told I'm good at setting a scene and painting a picture. This is, I think, a new ability I acquired in the past year or so. I've also been told my smut-writing abilities are pretty good, which is always nice to hear :) If I had to list what I consider to be my own strengths, I'd add that I've gotten a lot better at cutting the fat out of my writing (especially from dialogue tags and in describing facial expressions and body language).
17 – What are your writing weaknesses?
Dialogue is a bitch a half for me to write. It's probably the thing I most obsessively tweak before publishing. I think my dialogue tends to fall short.
Pacing is another issue. I often criticize, in other fic author's works, that they present an interesting image or idea and then leave me hungry because they don't elaborate on it, but I am the biggest culprit of this if I don't constantly remind myself that, yes, people want to hear more about this or that. They want you to mystify it, justify it, make it sexy, make it like a puzzle for them to solve. You can't just leave it cut-and-dry, much as my autism compels to do because "It's quite literally saying the same thing". Like, that's great, bestie, but you have to elaborate! Say the same thing just make it sound cooler than it is!
18 – Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
This is cool. I don't mind busting out Google Translate to enjoy a fic. That mouse-hovering feature that lets you add alternative text to a fic on ao3 is super useful for this sort of thing.
19 – First fandom you wrote for?
My first, and only other, fandom: My Little Pony. I was 12.
20 – Favorite fic you've written?
I love them all for different reasons, BUT Among the Many Souls has blood and sex and drama in it, so yeah. It's in the lead.
1 – How many works do you have on AO3?
2 – What's your total AO3 word count?
3 – What fandoms do you write for?
4 – What are your top five fics by kudos?
5 – Do you respond to comments?
6 – What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
7 – What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
8 – Do you get hate on fics?
9 – Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
10 – Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
11 – Have you ever had a fic stolen?
12 – Have you ever had a fic translated?
13 – Have you ever co-written a fic?

16 – What are your writing strengths?

20 – Favorite fic you've written?

Love your work. Question: How are you?
Hi! Thank you! Good, actually!
Which is sort of my problem, but -- well, here's the story.
In 2019, before the pandemic was even a thing, I found myself grinding to a halt in every area of my life. No motivation, no way forward, dread of failure at my jobs that translated into literally hiding in bed and failing just as hard as I feared. The news overwhelmed me when I used to be engaged. The work projects I cared most about got shelved and dusty. I stopped initiating anything at all. Even, like, showers and meals for myself.
The pandemic hit, and honestly, things didn't change for me that much. I was already hiding from the world and my responsibilities and feeling awful, and in a way it made everything else outside match up with my insides. I felt guilty for occasionally thinking that. It was a bad time for the world, and a bad time for me.
Thank somebody I hyperfixated on Good Omens. And eventually found fanfic and discord and a community that understood.
I found a refuge in writing two long novels, a novella or two, and a whole bunch of short stories (all of which I still plan to finish).
And because I found some really safe anonymous friendship through this fandom community, I also learned some things about my own mental health -- especially about autism, ADHD, and depression -- things that resonated when friends said them, in a way they never did when I heard about them on the news. In 2022, I felt ready to start trying to get help.
And I got some! It broke the bank, but I saw a psychiatrist just enough times to get a non-stimulant adhd med that gave me back my ability to focus on what I wanted to. (Is it a placebo? I don't know and I don't care; the placebo effect is one of the most powerful effects in medicine, and a reliable way to activate it is fucking fine with me.)
So, honestly, compared to a year ago?
I'm good. I'm really fucking good. I feel more like me again. I'm keeping promises and taking on hard things again. I'm confronting the stuff I shelved and forcing myself to re-engage my own life, especially my work life. I'm even reading the news (in manageable doses).
Resuming an actual job and a life has left me less time for my fandom than I used to have. I only get to write around the edges now, instead of all day. And I'm prioritizing my fandom friendships a little more than my writing, to be honest, because if I only have time for one of those, it's the friends who saw me through a couple of very dark years. But I am still writing. In fact I'm doing that tonight.
The thing I mostly wanted to say to your ask is -- thank you for asking. I'm actually doing a lot better than I was. Sometimes someone goes quiet on the internet, and you might worry that means that things are worse for them, or something bad happened. But sometimes it can also mean something good happened. Me, I made some friends, got some help, and got huge chunks of my life back, chunks I feared were washing out to sea. That means I have to wrangle these icebergs, unfortunately -- but they're my responsibility, and they always were, and I feel like I almost have enough rope now.
Thanks to all of you here for your friendship (and your fandom and your stories and characters and art) that helped me through the valley of dark fuckin' shadows. Know that they are still important to me every single day, even if I'm not a publishing-a-chapter-a-week person anymore. I'm sorry I'm not supplying you with as much story food. But in my case, it's actually a really, really good sign.

Probably The Top 10 Characters of 2023
It's time for the hardest top 10 list of the year, deciding who my top 10 characters of the year are. I am a very character focused writer and GM and that translates to my enjoyment of art too. I love characters and it's so hard to pick between the amazing swath of fantastic characters I read this year. Lowering the list down after eliminating stuff I had the list at like over 20 characters so getting this down to 10 was an exercise in self doubt. Of all of these lists this really is the list that I want to thin about next year and see what characters I am still thinking about in one years time. Unlike my other lists this is not even roughly in any order it simply is the 10 characters that at the moment I was writing this I managed to cut a list down to. My 45th character at this moment might be number 2 tomorrow and you can't see my 45th character, you can only see 10.
Tumblr media
Mary Satome [Kaguri Twins]
I watched this early in the year but Mary stuck with me. She's funny, she's clever, she is messy, she's an asshole, she's sweet, she's passionate and determined and I just want the best for her and her girlfriends. It's rare to see a woman be as messy as her and remain the main character but she gets to both be kinda noble and heroic while also clearly being self motivated.
Tumblr media
Prospera Mercury [gwitch]
Easily mother of the year, Prospera Mercury is a litness test for me on someone's taste and makes for an easy read on if someone will have utterly trash politics or not. If Prospera was a man she would probably be one of the most beloved characters in anime as a passionate loving mom who tries to teach her child hard lessons and is willing to do anything to give her child freedom and get her revenge. However, she is not a guy so from the start everyone suspected she was awful and abusive and terrible when the text never not even at the end supports it, she is mean to Sulleta exactly once and that is so she is not an accomplice to her crimes in case she ends up getting stopped.
Tumblr media
Tilty Claret  [MagiRevo]
My favorite "side" character of the year has to be Tilty, this little freak. Tilty is sweet, she's kind, she deserves a girlfriend, two girlfriends, she should be dating Anise and Euphy. She is funny, she's well used, she does great emotional support and understands Anise so well, I love her so much and I love how loyal and great she is to the people she loves. I love her sciencey freaky attitude too she's just great.
Tumblr media
Honey Trap [Super Women In Love]
Villain to Hero Honey Trap is utterly endearing. She starts as simply simping for Rapid Rabbit but it's fun to watch her evolve as a character and as a person over the course of the manga. She's sweet, endearing and brutal at all the right times. She's so gay and really funny, and she is really a perfect protagonist for this romantic comedy action yuri series. She's such a perfectly crafted character who can really command a range from serious threat to tragic damsel to Hero to gay little goof ball all while feeling like the same consistent character.
Tumblr media
Satya [Pink Sugar]
Satya comes in with an air of mystery but this trans lesbian swiftly shows how quickly someone can go from sexy mystery to beloved dork. Satya gets a lot of the most soft and sweet moments with her future girlfriends getting to be someone to listen to them, to ask questions as an outsider to the trio and to be the inciting incident to get them to go on their wild road trip to begin with. I am really curious where her story will go but it would be lying to say she hasn't already endeared herself to the top of my list despite being probably the least focused on girl of the quad so far.
Tumblr media
Shadowheart [BG3]
BG3 has a lot of good characters, great characters even and that is in spite of it being attached to one of the worst IPs around D&D. Shadowheart stood out to me among the many characters of a character who had queerness as part of her character done well despite being a player sexual character and I think she has the most dramatic character arc of the batch on her good path. Shadowheart starts as a catty Mormon girl and evolves into this kind heroic adventurer who you could see saving the world many more times.
Tumblr media
Adalia [En Garde!]
While En Garde! might be a short 3 hour romp all three hours with Adalia are perfectly used. She's funny, charming, cute, and heroic. She's fitting a very classic archtype but is a spin on it by having it both be a woman but also be queer. These two factors do add to Adalia's charm, the gay side lets us see her enter dork mode where she is very gay for a sexy pirate woman and her animations change and she makes worse decisions then snap out of it when it's what needs to happen to help people. She's utterly lovely and a true delight.
Tumblr media
Nova [Spellastra]
While almost every character here has a bit of a silly side, I can appreciate a more dramatic character. Nova is a character covered in tragedies, of angst, of wanting to love but feeling unable, she's rough and prickly and messy and makes bad choices but they all make a lot of sense for where she is at in any given moment. Nova is at once the older mentor who knows what to do but also the love interest who's fucked up plenty of times and blames herself even more than she ever should. Nova's a testament to the depth and layers you can really give a character while having her be lovable and desirable and still fit in for more fun moments while having these hard edges.
Tumblr media
Jala [Thirsty Suitors]
Speaking of messy queers we have the disaster bisexual herself Jala. She's a character I really wanna dive deeper into because I think there is so much to Jala and the game does a pretty good job at leaving a lot of space for my brain to get cooking about why Jala is like this while also explaining a lot of why Jala is like this. Jala has hurt a lot of people, like most of the people in her life and her path to make it right with everyone is great. We get to see where other people fucked up, what complicated situations, where she grows and where she stands firm. Jala is a really perfectly envisioned character with a cast weaved so perfectly around her that every interaction is splendor to behold.
Tumblr media
Astra [Grand Slam Romance]
Astra's on a quest to fuck every woman on the planet and more power to her. Astra is kinda the villain of the first book but she's also the romantic lead which places her in an interesting position in the story where we see her at her worst, we get to understand how she got there and we are cheering for her to tone it down like 10%. I am fully biased in my love for her and I make no excuses for it. Astra is designed exactly like many of my OCs with a personality similar to a lot of my OCs, I love everything about her, I want her great success and I look forward to people telling me I ripped her off even if I made characters like her like 10 years ago and have a record of it. I love her and I just wanna see more of her.
If you want to help me enjoy more art then consider checking out my Patreon or Ko-fi .and giving me a little bit of cash so I can do more of this kind of writing but also like make lots of my own art, art is hard to make and costs money and like maintain my chronically ill and trans body also takes money so anything helps, thank you.

if you havent already can u tell stuff about your neo 3s 🥺🤲 i care them
YEAH!!
Both
outside of agent work, they have been part of a delinquent group for quite some time, ever since they were very little! they met through that group and stuck together ever since
the rest of the agents don’t recognize them when they’re dressed in their different clothing! (which looks similar to the deliquent amiibo clothing)
(i’m working on developing that silly little group….)
they found smallfry by picking him up outside of grizzco! they named him Kuz, because he’s like a silly baby cousin
before the NSS, neither knew how to read or write
they got lost in the desert looking for a deliquent friend of theirs who went missing! after some time they stumbled upon cuttlefish and the rest is history lol
i’ve said this like a billion times but Sicily/Cap = mommy?
(do i look l-)
their arms were tainted just from lots of accidents from agent work! it accumulated especially in space, when dodging fuzzballs was especially hard!!
they’re not sure if it’s gonna have any lasting negative effect on them, all that they’ve been able to figure out is that it stings when rinsed with water.
also, they purr and act mammal-like now. i can’t help it T_T
Trikaya
A FERAL CHILD! she’s literally on silly mode maximum ALL THE TIME. if she’s not something is DEATHLY wrong
she loves to put her hair up in pigtails, because she likes subverting expectations!
she’s average at everything! literally everything! it’s kind of astounding how much she can do at a normal level
smallfry’s primary caretaker! she loves to dress him up like a little dolly!
she’s very acrobatic, flexible and agile. she loves to do freaky tricks that give sicily secondhand bone hurting disease.
although she’s very strong willed, she’s still very sensitive…
very gullible, would probably believe you if you said chocolate milk comes from brown cows
literally left in a cardboard box all alone as a baby, wettest little squitten you’d ever see :(
Frye named her! the name means ‘three bodies’ in Sanskrit. before that, it was mostly ‘girl’ or ‘Agent 3’
Mitsuo
very quiet, but also very perceptive and detail oriented. he gets so lost in analyzing some things that sometimes he looks really mad lol
has a lot of anxiety regarding speaking, so he’s a selective mute! he’ll speak if he absolutely HAS to or if he’s really close to someone, but otherwise he speaks SSL (splatlands sign language), a mix of inkling and octoling SL
trikaya translates for him, and often understands what he needs with just a glance!
around strangers he has on a tough attitude, but around the NSS he’s very gentle and curious. he asks a lot of questions
he doesn’t have the most accurate aim as a charger main, but damn if he can’t apply pressure!
trikaya’s big bro!
his parents were octarian army refugees that sent him across the world to the splatlands as an infant to give him a better shot at life. he started off in a foster home but ran away due to mistreatment
sometimes he still wonders if they’re alive
Shiver named him! his name means ‘light/shine’ in japanese, but can also mean ‘third son’ and is sometimes spelt with 三(three).
HOPE YOU LIKE! AND SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG:)

I would love to hear you talk more about ortho 💙 your headcanons, opinions, everything!
Are you sure about that?
Tumblr media
Jokes aside, I really do enjoy Ortho's character so much and it does bother me a bit that some people just write him off as this "perfect uwu little brother who wouldn't hurt a fly" type of character cuz he would hurt a fly. He's like all the other NRC bois who choose violence first. He always had these little hints that he wasn't this perfect little brother type from the beginning, it's mostly in his card stories. Like even in the EN translations for his burst gear card Ortho himself says he habit of pulling pranks. Like if you set Ortho's burst gear card to the homescreen, he has a line that is straight up him admitting to pulling pranks when the classrooms are empty, and that's from a card released before the Ignihyde chapter.
Obligatory long post ahead cuz I really did go off, also mild spoilers for the Ignihyde chapter and some untranslated events cuz that's when I really fell in love with his character XD
Like yeah, Ortho really does care about Idia and Idia's well being but he wasn't able to truly express his his own wants and interests until he was rebuilt after the chaos that was chapter 6. Like before that, the Tweels had to threaten Idia to give Ortho athletic shoes so he can run around like everyone else, and then there's Ortho's burst gear card where Ortho ended up apologizing to Idia after wanting Idia to go to the opening ceremony in person with him and Idia ended up not going, and Ortho really felt bad about pushing Idia to do something he wasn't ready for, he usually puts Idia's interest first. Sometimes Idia would cave into doing anything Ortho wants, so long as it doesn't involve Idia having to be social and going outside, but that was before chapter 6, in some events and after chapter 6 Ortho gets his way more when it comes to encouraging Idia to be more social and going outside sometimes, like the sled race event where Ortho just pushes Idia into the mirror alone and he turns back to Epel and MC like 'please take care my brother, he needs friends'. Or like the Glorious Masquerade event where Ortho tells Idia to go on the exchange trip so that when he comes back they can visit Flower Town together so Idia can show him all cool places they never mention on travel blogs. I also love that near the end of the Ignihyde chapter when Ortho is technically free from Idia, he still chooses to be Idia's little brother cuz he genuinely cares about Idia even if he isn't the real Ortho.
Also Ortho's dorm SSR where he basically learns nothing and just ruins the high school lives of two random Diasomnia students for saying mean things about Idia. Like boi just projected some embarrassing videos of those students for the whole school to see and then PRETENDS HE HAD NOTHING TO WITH IT WHEN TRIEN IS WONDERING WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON, and the fact that Ortho's dorm SSR starts off with Ortho actually firing his magic beam indoors at those two Diasomnia students, like he was about to kill them with zero hesitation and Trien was more concerned about the school being damaged instead of the fact ORTHO NEARLY KILLED TWO PEOPLE! I want more of Ortho pulling stuff like this in events cuz before chapter 6 all we got was Idia mentioning it in his Halloween card lines. Like 'If you don't give Ortho candy on Halloween you'll regret it.' After his Dorm SSR was released we finally understand why you don't want to upset Ortho, boi can plot your downfall and pretend he didn't just ruin your life..
Like let this boi be more of menace in game please, he's already threatened to destroy NRC twice in the Ghost Marriage event cuz no one wanted to help Idia, and nearly killed those two Diasomnia students cuz he actually fired his magic beam indoors, and I'm still impressed with how many people pretend he's some innocent angel after the threats of violence he's made and committed to in that event and his personal dorm SSR.
As for personal headcanons I have about Ortho, I have one for post chapter 6 Ortho, cuz he's basically his own person now. So I like to think that as part of his Film Research Club activities, Vil has Ortho do acting exercises instead of just doing technical film work to help Ortho with his creative thinking, which was the only thing Ortho wasn't truly able to do before chapter 6, cuz like he can just do a quick internet search and solve like every problem ever, but he isn't use to interrupting things with his own thoughts and ideas, and I like to think he also has to make his own costumes for his little acting roles to also help with his creativity. Also, Fairy Gala IF is my fav event with Ortho cuz he really gets to express himself and learn what it's like to be a human, I just love seeing his character development in that event, which is where this headcanon comes from.
I also just like when cute characters are also deadly menaces that can destroy you with ease. XD I just love that trope, it's a personal thing for me, in general the whole "looks can be deceiving" thing is my favorite character trope in fiction and with everything I've seen in game for Ortho, he meets that specific interest of mine. -w-
That wraps up my Ortho thoughts, for now. I hope the Diasomnia chapter gives both Idia and Ortho more character development now that Ortho is his own student, and Idia doesn't have Ortho by side his as often as he did before.

Fic author interview
Thanks to @sesamestreep and @glorious-spoon for tagging me in this one over the holidays! But between starting the new job and the holidays and the RCSS, it totally slipped my mind until now 😬
No-pressure tagging: @anghraine, @ladytharen, @luciechat, and anyone else who feels like it.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
An even 200 if I include both accounts.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
Just under 650K words altogether.
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Last Train
I fought the war (but the war won)
left-handed kisses
Fixer Upper
Chain Reaction
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! I want to let commenters know they're appreciated, and I enjoy talking about little details or plot turns. Lately I haven't had the time or energy for much more than a quick thank you, but I'm still trying to respond.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
At one point it would've been the bad ending of I fought the war, but now I think this Whumptober piece takes the crown.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Considering canon, most of them have an unrealistically happy ending! Especially inside the vastness of the galaxy, the "Naomi & Filip get a happy reunion" story.
7. Do you write crossovers?
No. I enjoy writing & reading some fusions (i.e. characters from one canon in the setting of another) but traditional crossovers in which characters from two different canons meet don't generally appeal to me.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not on AO3, but I've been sent anon hate on Tumblr about my writing a couple of times (find a Reylo writer who hasn't challenge).
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yeah, a fair bit - in fact it's hard to remember sometimes that I never wrote anything explicit before 2016! It's all pretty vanilla, though, minus a few attempts at kinkier stuff which are deservedly anonymous.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Kind of; someone commented on one of my stories on AO3 to tell me that another story had copied significant parts of it. (They'd already commented on and reported the other fic, so I didn't take any additional action. The plagiarizing story was eventually deleted.)
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Bless the fandom translators, for they are amazing.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nothing posted publically.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I couldn't possibly choose a single favourite! In terms of longevity, it's either Han/Leia or Eowyn/Faramir. And Star Wars ships in general seem to have a strong hold on me 😁
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
The OT3 whumpfic. It's nearly done, but it's far outside my usual wheelhouse so without a beta reader, I can't tell whether it's worth finishing or beyond help.
15. What are your writing strengths?
I think I write decent dialogue, and I'm genuinely proud of the ideas behind I fought the war and pulse to pulse. I can also write a pretty good pastiche of 19C style, although you wouldn't know it from this account.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Plotting. Falling back on boring/clichéd beats to flesh out dialogue-heavy scenes.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
A sentence or so? Sure. Can't think of a reason to do much more than that.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
It would be either Buffy or Lord of the Rings - I honestly don't remember - not counting the terrible Shannara-fic I wrote as a pre-teen.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
Someday I'd really like to write a Children of Men story telling what happened to Kee and [spoiler] after the movie, plus fixing [spoiler].
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Subject to change by the moment, of course, but looking back at some older stories recently reminded me that I've always been pretty fond of don't go home without me.

20 Questions Game
I’ve been tagged by @sssammich and it’s hard to say no to sssammich. It has nothing to do with the fact that I am procrastinating on something. Not at all.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Currently 14
2. What’s your total AO3 words count?
348,153 (most of those are one fic – 234,645)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
At present, just Supercorp, but I do have an unfinished Wynonna Earp fic in the mix.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1) Home (part of a series)
2) Conversations (continuation of series above)
3) Carterhaugh-Wood Academy (CWA – Fae AU)
4) I Wish it Was Me
5) Kiss Me in the Rain
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Absolutely! I try to respond to all comments because anyone that takes the time to read my work and let me know they did is worth my time. I value and appreciate the comments.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
HA. Well, I don’t write a lot of angsty stuff. I am working on venturing into some angst since I tend to lean more into fluffy stories with a few twists. Hopefully I will be branching out into some angst with happy ending type stories. We shall see.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Tough to say…LOL. So far, all of mine have happy endings. I have one that is open-ended because I am planning a sequel, but yeah…pick one. :)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
So far, not really. I did get a mildly rude comment once, but overall, everyone has been kind.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Yes. I’m not sure how I would classify it? It’s not strictly vanilla, but not too adventurous either. At least not yet? It’s a work in progress. I’m still finding my footing in that arena. ;)
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not exactly? My fae AU has Diana Prince and Felicity Smoak as secondary characters, but I think that’s the only one that I’ve brought in from outside the show. I’m not opposed to writing them, it just hasn’t been part of any ideas yet.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Hmmm, not that I am aware of…
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Also not that I am aware of…though I would be flattered and honored if asked.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
One that has been published already – no. I am co-writing one with some friends right now though (@lovesastateofmind1 & @chaotic-super - I'm looking at you).
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Supercorp, hands down. There hasn’t been another ship that has grabbed me by the neck like they have.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
HA – Easy. My Wynonna Earp fic. Unfortunately, I lost the momentum/interest in it and have no plans to get back to it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Ummm, descriptive writing, creating imagery? Not sure.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Getting too far into the minutiae of things, being impatient with story development.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I haven’t done a lot of it. I used a version of combined Irish & Scottish Gaelic in CWA – Fae AU and haven’t used it much since. It was fun to do though and I will likely use it in another WIP I have brewing.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Wynonna Earp. I was very late to the world of fanfiction and fandoms, but really enjoy it.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
That is a very difficult one to answer. I say it would be a close race between the Home Series and CWA. I think I am most proud of CWA.
No pressure to anyone I tag to answer. Love and light, y’all!

Extreme Bath Log Disk 2 – Track 5: Cast Comments
Click here to listen to the track on youtube.
Click here for translations of previous tracks.
Tumblr media
Summary: The voice actors shared their thoughts on the recording and scenes that left a lasting impression on them.
--------
Hoshi: It’s time for the closing cast commentary of Drama CD ‘Extreme Bath Log’! Yay! Today’s topics are your thoughts on the recording and scenes or lines that make a lasting impression on you. I’d ask each of you to talk about these in turn. All right, I’ll start. This is Hoshi Souichirou, who plays Son Goku. Pappi!
A few of the guys: Pappi.
Hoshi: You sure don’t sound lively. (laughs) No, that’s not lively at all, everyone.
Seki: Must we really reply to that greeting?
Hoshi: I’d like you to reply if possible. And to do it as lively as possible for the sake of the listeners.
Seki: Okay.
Hoshi: Er, let’s continue. Hoshi Souichirou, who plays Son Goku. Pappi!
Seki, Hirata and others: Pappi!
Hoshi: Extreme Bath Log – just by listening to the title, it’s difficult to tell apart [from the title of the main series, Saiyuki]. After all, the difference lies only in the kanji for ‘hot bath.’ [Both titles are homonyms in Japanese. In writing, they differ only by the second kanji, the one Hoshi-san referred to.]
(Morikawa laughs.)
Hoshi: That other title is also ‘Saiyuki.’ It’s been an amazing experience for me. I still played Goku, but in a totally new world and story. Acting together with the other cast of Saiyuki, I got this immense feeling of nostalgia. Also, various characters from Minekura-sensei’s other works made their appearances too, making this story all the more delightful. It’s been such fun that I don’t want it to end – it’d be great if I could go on playing Goku in a continuation of the story. By all means, let’s continue [our work in] Extreme Bath Log! That’s all from me. Thank you very much for today. Next, on to you, Seki-san.
Seki: This is Seki Toshihiko, who plays Genjo Sanzo. Scenes which make a lasting impression... er, that’s right – even in this absurd parallel universe, there are some understated, somber scenes. Such as the one at the veranda at the Genjos’ home, in which Hakkai and Goku talked about the Milky Way – that scene makes a profound lasting impression on me. In addition to that, there’s the question of why Konzen was cast as the grandmother, and what’s more, one that has already passed away**. I just have a brief comment on that: I would’ve loved to play Konzen by channeling the old lady I imagine Kinsan to be. My regret is that I was not able to do that. [Kinsan: one of a pair of long-lived identical twin sisters, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsan_Ginsan] Then, Hira-san, who plays Gojyo, the floor is yours.
Hirata: Hello, this is Hirata, who plays Gojyo and Kenren. Seki-san–
Seki: Yes?
Hirata: You said that, but it’s tough, you know.
Seki: What’s tough?
Hirata: The conversation between Gojyo and Kenren.
Seki: Ah, yes, you did that! It was like a rakugo performance. [traditional Japanese verbal entertainment, in which a lone storyteller performs the narration and the dialogues for all characters]
(They both laugh.)
Hirata: I just want to say one thing: I love doing Drama CDs, Urasai sections and other stuff outside of the [Saiyuki] main storyline, but please, no more conversations between Gojyo and Kenren, ever! Hey, Minekura, are you listening? That was a terribly harsh experience I was made to go through. The conversation was interesting though.
Hoshi: You did alter your acting a bit [to depict the differences between Gojyo and Kenren], didn’t you?
Hirata: Eh?
(Hoshi repeats what he just said.)
Hirata: Of course I did. They’re two different souls after all. Yeah, that conversation was a tough one. So, what do you think of it [the situation in which one has to play two different characters in the same CD Drama]? Er... Akira-san, please.
(Ishikawa laughs.)
Ishida: Alright, this is Ishida Akira, who plays Tenpou and Hakkai. What do I think of that situation? Well, we both might complain that it’s tough, but I believe that undoubtedly, with their wonderful power of imagination, the listeners will be able to grasp the differences between the characters. We both might wonder if we managed to convey the differences without the visuals, but in actuality, in the listeners are able to picture the different characters in their minds. They can ‘see’ Hakkai and Tenpou as distinct individuals as they listen to those two speak and thus can differentiate between the two characters. At least, this is what I hope–
Hirata: Stop it!
Ishida: Why?
Hirata: Minekura might get cocky so stop it! [He is probably trying to warn Ishida that Minekura-sensei might come up with a scene in which Hakkai and Tenpou actually speak to each other. Unlike Gojyo and Kenren, Hakkai and Tenpou never appear in the same room at the same time in Extreme Bath Log.]
(Ishida and Hoshi laugh.)
Seki: She might make you do it. [the same thing Hirata had to do]
Hirata: She will.
Ishida: You’re right. You never can tell with this Extreme Bath Log series.
Seki and Hoshi: Series?
Ishida: Yes, series. You never can tell what will happen with it, so let’s just keep our anticipation light for now. Regarding scenes that leave a lasting impression, what particularly caught my attention is this: Sanzo-sama not complaining at being aged up into a grandfather, despite the fact that he seems like a character that would definitely object to that sort of thing. I guess, in the end, whatever Minekura- sensei decides goes and there’s no defying her. That’s the only thing that I’m curious about regarding this Drama CD. Well then, moving on, Morikawa-kun, please.
Morikawa: Ah. Thanks, Akira Ishida, for giving me the floor. Hello, this is Morikawa Toshiyuki, CEO of Axlone.
Ishikawa and a few others: CEO!
Morikawa (laughs): It’s been quite a while since I last played Kubo-chan – Kubota, so I was delighted, though also a bit surprised at the fairly different scenario. But, the relationship between Kubo-chan and Tokito remains unchanged from how it was in Wild Adapter – they still live together [in Extreme Bath Log]. I think it’s great that whatever universe they’re in, these two are always together.
Morikawa: Well, the good thing about Drama CDs is that there’s only audio and no visuals, so one is free to play the character as one sees fit. Since I was playing Kubo-chan for the first time in a long while, I felt uneasy when voicing the first few lines. These days, the director and crew are situated behind the voice actors, so we do the recording without getting a glimpse of their facial expressions**. You get this [feeling of uneasiness] when playing a character you’ve not played for a long time, do you? It happens quite often. Yes, it does.
Morikawa: As usual, even in an audio drama depicting this [parallel] world, unpleasant characters would turn up. For a number of reasons, as in a TV drama, there were quite a number of such background characters. The splendid voice actors here are able to depict background characters with great depth, you know. For example, I’m sure they can portray a crowd bursting into laughter on the first take. How about it, everyone? Okay, in three... two... one, go!
(A burst of laughter resounds.)
Morikawa: There! See what I mean? Everyone’s relaxed and roaring with laughter at will, aren’t they? (laughs himself) That’s how thorough they are **. Ah, is my time up already? Got it. Then, up next is Ishikawa Hideo, who plays Tokito.
Ishikawa: Thank you, Morikawa-san. I’m Ishikawa Hideo, who plays Tokito. Well, since Wild Adapter basically revolves around Kubota and Tokito, other characters such as their friends don’t appear much in that series. Say, there’s Kou-san though, right?
Seki: Yes! [Seki plays Kou, a character in Wild Adapter.]
Ishikawa: Aside from Kou-san, there are some police officers who get involved [but only] from time to time. Therefore, while interacting with Goku [in this CD Drama] I somehow felt like I’d gained a new friend. Frankly, it was very enjoyable experience.
Hoshi: So we’re friends.
Ishikawa: Yeah, it felt like gaining a new friend. That feeling made the recording an exceedingly delightful experience. If this series continues, I hope there will be more new friends to be gained. Thank you very much. Then, on to you, Suzumura-kun.
Suzumura: This is Suzumura Kenichi, who plays Mishiba Toki, a character from Bus Gamer. While talking [to the others] about Bus Gamer just now, I realized that it has been ten years since I first played Mishiba. Yes, I was amazed too [at how time flies]. Say, the voice actors who play Saiyuki characters seem to have various opinions on the work, opinions which they express in an apparently carefree manner.
Hoshi and Seki (laugh): No, don’t mention that again.
Suzumura: Taking opportunity of this occasion, I’d like to learn how you guys survived so far. (laughs) [He is probably referring to the fact that the Saiyuki voice actors have not been axed despite their relatively brazen comments on the work.]
Hoshi: So far, yeah.
Suzumura: Is that so? Then I’d like to try to reach your level from now on. So, please allow me to do my best with this sentiment in mind **. In this CD Drama, my role is basically just to serve coffee in a cafe. (laughs) That’s how the plot has unfolded up to now, but perhaps something will turn up down the road. Hopefully, there will be a continuation of this series and more appearances [for my character]. That’s all from me. Then, Hiroki, the floor is yours.
Takahashi (in character): Thank you for your continued patronage! This is Saito Kazuo, heir of Saito Liquor Store, which is still in business even after ten years.
Hoshi: Hello.
(Takahashi exhales loudly.)
Hoshi: Hang on there!
Takahashi: I’m doing my best to. It’s been ten years, huh. The [Bus Gamer] anime was broadcast in 2008. Considering that we’re here today, the franchise’s passably survived. Er, actually–
Ishikawa: They’re not making any more Wild Adapter anime, you know. [The Wild Adapter OVA, first aired in 2014, covers only one of six complete volumes in the manga.]
Takahashi: Is that so? Then, by all means, let’s struggle together to survive.
Ishikawa: Yes, let’s do our best.
Takahashi: And hope for the best too. As for my thought on the Extreme Bath Log CD Drama, even though the main plot revolves around Tanabata, the recording session was performed after Tanabata was over [July 7]. Despite this regrettable condition, I’m pleased we eventually managed to do the recording. Is this CD Drama slated for release in April 2019? Or was I mistaken? Anyhow, it feels good [to have completed the recording].
Takahashi: Well, the Summer Triangle came up in the CD Drama [Track 01-06], right? Vega and Altair are two of the stars in the Summer Triangle. Vega, a star in the Lyra constellation, represents the Weaver Girl while Altair in the Aquila constellation represents the Cowherd. Then, what’s the remaining star in the Summer Triangle called? I’d like Hoshi-san to answer this quiz at the end. Well, on to Suwabe-san, who plays the last of the three Bus Gamer characters.
Suwabe (in Nobuto’s voice): Thank you for giving me the floor. I’m Suwabe Junichi, who’s in charge of voicing Nakajyo Nobuto. How do you find my performance**? (laughs) As my fellow voice actors from Bus Gamer already mentioned, the anime adaptation was broadcast ten years ago in 2008. It left a fond memory in my mind. I certainly recall performing at a Bus Gamer-related event, but it seems that the venue where the event was held no longer exists. Yes, time’s passed to that extent. Even under such a pressure, such–
Suwabe (in his normal voice): Hey, I can’t speak in a nice voice with you guys making such a ruckus. Stop it, everyone!
(The others have been chatting audibly among themselves all this while. Some of them laugh in response to Suwabe’s admonishment.)
Suwabe (back in Nobuto’s voice): That’s how it was [in the CD Drama] – various characters from Minekura-sensei’s works amicably locked in a grapple as they came together in this variety show-like piece. It was a very enjoyable experience for me. It’d be great if another such opportunity or even another appearance in Bus Gamer were to turn up. That’s it from me.
Hoshi: Thank you very much, Suwabe-kun.
Suzumura, Ishikawa and Morikawa: He spoke with a nice voice.
Hoshi: Yes, he did, didn’t he?
Seki: I was taken aback.
Hoshi: What was it again? The question you had for me?
Hirata: What’s the other star in the Summer Triangle?
Takahashi: Sorry for throwing in that question. Just ignore it. **
Hoshi: Er, what’s the answer? Hiroaki.... [I gave up after listening to this for twenty times and scrolling though the google results for the phrase Tanabata+Hiroaki.]
(Takahashi and the others laugh.)
Hirata: I have a bad feeling about this. Why are you looking at my face? [Hiroaki is Hirata’s personal name, but I have never heard Hoshi refer to him by it in all of the Saiyuki cast talks I’ve listened to.]
Hoshi: So, we’ve reached the end of cast commentary of Drama CD ‘Extreme Bath Log’, but I’d certainly be delighted in case of future development to this work. Everyone, I look forward to your continuing support. Thank you very much for listening today. Goodbye!
The others: Goodbye!
Seki: It’s Deneb!
Hoshi: Deneb, it’s Deneb. Pappi! [He finally gave the answer to Takahashi’s question. Deneb, the third star of the Summer Triangle, represents the bridge formed by magpies which enables the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl to meet each other once a year.]
Ishikawa: It’s great you got the answer.
Takahashi: A star’s born, huh? [Probably a pun on Hoshi’s name, since ‘hoshi’ may mean ‘star(s)’ in Japanese.]
Hoshi: Then, goodbye, everyone.
--------
(Round brackets): actions and sound effects. [Square brackets]: translator’s notes or clarifications. Double asterisks **: Stuff I am not sure of. Suggestions for improvements and corrections are more than welcome.
--------
Inane comments which I put at the end so that you can skip them:
1. For fans of Saiyuki anime who find Suwabe’s smooth, deep voice familiar, he plays Sai Tai Sai in Reload Blast. The Bus Gamer event he mentioned (YT video with Chinese subtitles).
youtube
A short portion of the video with English subtitles.
youtube
2. Every single one of the voice actors featured in this Drama CD has voiced the main characters (uke and seme) in various Boys’ Love CD or anime, with the notable exception of Hirata Hiroaki (no, not even a role as a side character which does not appear in any of the sex scenes). Is that the reason why Gojyo always gets the short end of the stick in Saiyuki Drama CDs? Or why Kenren and Gojyo appear at the same scene in Extreme Bath Log but not Tenpou and Hakkai? Only Minekura-sensei knows :D

Someone please stop me ive finally started to translate a warrior cats book into my language (Slovak) for fun and my dumb ass had to choose Mapleshade's vengeance of all things. I have now translated like 6 pages of it and i am not stopping for the life of me.
The book was probably a bad pick, at least i feel like it is considering that if you haven't read anything about warriors, this is NOT a good starting point if you know nothing about the series, so if i wanted to talk about it outside the warriors circle i would have to explain so much, plus a big portion of chaper one is just the a kinda cheesy romance bs with Appledusk, and also Mapleshade's and Appledusk's names translate to Javorové šero and Jablčný súmrak, which are fairly long and fairly similar sounding (i have written Jablčné šero a few times already). And also the issues the book has and stuff.
I chose this book mostly because it's a novella, so it's relatively short (still 79 pages though, god help me), and a number of things are happening inside of it, so im not writing about 50 pages of cats travelling to bumfuck nowhere and getting bored, but it might still not have been the best idea??? But by gods im fucking doing it im gonna translate chapter one at the very least. Wish me luck!
Anyway, here are the allegiances of Mapleshade's vengeance, translated into Slovak, for your enjoyment!
Pomsta Javorového šera
Klan hromu
Vodca: Dubová hviezda - robustný hnedý kocúr s jantarovými očami
Zástupca: Včelí chvost - Tmavohnedý murovaný kocúr
Lekár: Havranie krídlo - malý čierny kocúr s modrími očami
Bojovníci: Javorové šero - hustosrstá oranžovo biela mačka s jantárovími očami
Jelenia škvrna - Sivočierna murovaná mačka
Učeň - Žihľavová laba
Pehavé prianie - strakatá zlatosrstá mačka s tmavo jantárovími očami
Kvitnúce srdce - šedý múrovaný kocúr
Semienková srsť - svetlohnedý a biely kocúr
Klan rieky
Vodca: Temná hviezda - čierna mačka
Zástupca: Pichlavý chvost - tmavošedý kocúr
Bojovníci: Dažďový pád - tenký šedý kocúr
Jablčný súmrak - bledohnedý kocúr so zelenými očami
Učeň: Ostriežová laba
Rákosový lesk - tmavo oranžová mačka
Mliečny kožuch - biela mačka
Šplechajúca šľapa - bledošedý kocúr
Úhorí chvost - šedočierna múrovaná mačka
Učni: Ostriežová laba - hustosrstý šedý kocúr
Klan tieňa
Lekár: Trnková srsť - čierny kocúr
Klan vetra

Owari no Seraph volume 31 author's afterword english fan translation
Hi hi hi! I'm a few days late, but since the volume itself won't be out in english for like a year hopefully I'm still good lol
For anyone who's curious now I hope this helps and thanks for reading!
"Afterword
I'm going talk spoilers a little, so people who skip to the afterword gotta back it up. Are you gone? Not yet? I told you to go back and read it!
As for everyone who's already read it, welcome to the new volume! Which is to say, I think this volume had a pretty sizeable lore drop. The fundamental basis of the work won't change volume to volume, but I really feel the beauty in them each being about their own battles. So then, we're returning to the modern day where all the paths converge, to see what all different choices will be made from within both the hope and despair that come with living only for the present! Starting from the next volume, things are really going to spark off, so I hope you'll all follow along!!!
There's also the matter, of course, of me attending the autograph event in Sapporo! It's been a while! I want to thank everyone, but as I say that I'm actually writing this afterword before heading to Hokkaido. Ever since I went on a weeklong roadtrip in Hokkaido, I've gotten excited whenever my plans take me back there. I'm also really looking forward to the day before because the previous and current manager have promised we'll eat some good food, but at that time I was asked by the previous manager to do my very best to take care of myself. If I'm going to be unhealthy, please do it the week BEFORE!
Will do! I wonder if it'll be easy or not! (lol). And thinking that gets us on the topic of musicians who play the big stages like the Tokyo Dome and how they might manage their health before that. I mean, the pressure must be incredible. To the point they'll do stuff like carrying a humidifier around with them, right? And here I am gulping down vitamin shakes in my pajamas, facing the desk tired out of my mind and with my heart racing from the caffeine. I really have to respect the type of person that can tackle the pressure of an outside-facing job.
Ok so, moving on, recently I've heard something I think is a matter of course, that if you don't tell the people you take for granted that you'll see all the time how much you appreciate and treasure them, they won't know, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to say what I mean quick. So with that, to all my readers, thank you for coming along up to this most recent volume! It's thanks to you all that I'm able to spend my days enjoyably.
I'd also like to thank Furuya-san for always providing the wonderful storyboards. Even though me and my late manuscripts cause nothing but trouble. Whenever I come up against a challenging situation, he's always saying "why didn't you tell me, we're friends aren't we?" and in those moments I'm completely overwhelmed with emotion. I'm excited to keep working with him. I think it's thanks to him that our team is so coordinated.
And I'd like to thank Yamamoto-san for the always beautiful manga. Even when I carelessly bang out grand scenes that are, to put it plainly, not made with artist's ease in mind, they always deliver. Or rather, it's their professionalism that makes me trust their ability to deliver that I'm always so thankful for. It's thanks to Yamamoto-san that Owari no Seraph shines the way it does. I think I've caused them some suffering with my late manuscripts, but I'll work even harder to do better from now on, so I'm excited to keep working with them as well.
It's already been 10 years for our team, out of the multiple tens of years humans tend to live. I'm grateful to everyone, and to that end I think it's a good idea to speak up and let them know. Truly, thank you so much. So with that, it's already time to put this next volume into overdrive. Everyone, please look forward to and support it!
Kagami Takaya"
