I AM SPINNING I AM PACING I AM FULL ON FROLICKING IM SO EXCITED
@d1sc0rd1a THANK U FOR THESE TAGS
Tumblr media
okayokayokayokay so pretty much all of these questions will be Officially Answered properly in the character design/intro pages im working on but also i am physically vibrating with excitement about the fact that you noticed all these details and i have very little self control so! lore dump time!!!
(minor tw for mentions of leos self-harm/self-destructive anxious behaviors and unhealthy coping skills)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- mikey does indeed have curly fur! i believe he would be considered a 'rex' rat (pictured on the left) for this trait? though the curls can be more easily seen on mice (pictured on the right). or, at least it seems that way. have not delved too deeply into the details of rodent genes and husbandry, but id assume its the same sort of mutation considering curly haired mice are also referred to as rex sometimes? either way hes a extra floofy bby 🧡
Tumblr media
-as for raphie, unfortunately being more fluff and less shell than the average rapheal comes with its downsides. especially if you and your brothers occasionally encounter things like territorial dogs, hungry cats, or sewer crocodiles while exploring places ur dad said not supposed to go. (most of his scars will have more ninja related stories, but his ear i think got messed up from something very animal. probably around age 11 ish? old enough to sneak out from dads protection but young enough to not fully know how to handle himself alone against real danger. thankfully his ear injury looks worse than it actually is for the most part, as the damage was largely to the outer ear. his hearing wasnt super affected, except that he now has a bit of a harder time being able to track/pinpoint noises origins if its on his right side.)
Tumblr media
-also yep! dons got some glasses that just clip/rest on the bridge of his nose! theyre mostly just for home use, as they do fall off if hes knocked around. in the field he has some goggles he tends to use (theyre helpful as they have multiple additional functions like heat-imaging, extra zoom/telescoping, and recording capabilities. but also theyll give him headaches if he wears them for too long without breaks). contacts are theoretically also an option but he absolutely hates the sensation of putting them in. so sometimes when hes tired he'll just not bother with either clips or goggles and just squint and struggle. leo hates when he does that lol.
Tumblr media
-speaking of leo, he is def an anxious baby :) he has a few patches of fur missing on his hand cos he has the tendency to tug on it while hes thinking. he yanked and chewed on his own tail a lot when he was younger too, which is why when hes older he usually wears some wraps to cover the scars left from that behavior. he finds those scars specifically to be kinda embarrassing and shameful because they werent from any battle or life-lesson, just his own 'inability to control himself'. all of his brothers have repeatedly called him out on the fact that that is not a healthy way to think about his anxiety or mental health, but leo insists hes fine. hes kinda convinced himself that a proper warrior always has control over his own body* and his own thoughts, thus he should be able to just like willpower-brute-force his way into 'being better'. (this line of thinking pisses raph off so much he has to leave and go hit something)
Splinter also tries to talk him through some of that internalized guilt/shame/everything, but splinters very metaphorical, poetic, and indirect when it comes to talking about Big Things, which combined with how much leo gets caught in his own head, makes it kinda hard to gauge how much these talks actually help
*this is made extra fun considering leos also ftm trans, so he is faced with a body that fundamentally disobeys him perhaps more than the average rat-man.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-and im still going back and forth between a few species for splinter, but im leaning mostly towards an African Spurred Tortoise! they have these beautiful if kinda subtle geometric shell patterns and are the third largest species of tortoise in the world. the only thing that doesnt fit perfectly with Splints is that (allegedly) their lifespan in captivity is around 50ish years, whereas im p sure Tortoise Splinter is well over 75, probably closer to 90 when the boys are born and hes mutated into Old Man Papa.
but maybe hes just a particularly long lasting African Spurred Tortoise.
the Hamato family has taken very good care of him for many decades after all. :)
(well. until everything all fell apart, that is.....)

I was thinking of Monk, and while doing so it occurred to me that what the garlic, mountain ash, and wild roses have in common, is that they all are natural antiseptics. Monk is a very aware germphobe who always wipes surfaces, his hands after a handshake etc, so he'll take all the local population's gifts and bring his own antiseptics. So if things like that repulse the vampires, I can see Dracula having a nasty surprise waking up at night and trying to open his own doors or to cook because he has disinfected everything, the handles, the bed, the couches...
Also Monk isn't full of energetic youth blood so would Dracula keep him for that restoration drink right before his murder-boat trip?
Oh that is fascinating. I love these thoughts. Just the idea of vampirism as a disease measure being defeated by aggressive hand washing.
I have seen one (1) episode of Monk, but let's run with this concept and see where it goes. You can correct me where I trip up.
So my first thought is that Monk haaaaaates being touched, and Dracula is extremely touchy all the time. Touching him with the same hands he was using to grab his mustache? His mustache that is right next to his rank breath? This is terrible. He hates it. What I don't know the character well enough to say is what he does about it.
Monk is a recluse, right? He has to closely control his living environment. And one of the reasons Jonathan goes insdvisably napping in the ladies' wing is because his own rooms have been made hateful to him by the presence of the Count. Might Monk try a similar solution? (Would Monk willingly sleep in a place that dusty?) Since he can't just lock himself in his own room because Dracula keeps getting in. Or does Dracula keep getting in, with all of his disinfecting?
My theory about the garlic is that the smell interrupts vampiric mind control. So I will posit that Monk is unknowingly immune to vampiric trances. He does not want women made of dust to kiss him with their red bacteria colored lips. ...so what does he do about it??
I figure the disinfecting is going to be an irritant to Dracula but not one he can call attention to without dropping the good host act. He just has to sit there and take it. I think this is going to move up the theft significantly - Dracula's first order of business is going to be to get rid of Monk's cleaning supplies somehow.
So I think I have convinced myself that both Monk and Dracula are having an incredibly bad time. But is it a fatally bad time?
I think Monk will read to Dracula as entirely harmless, but irritating. He's already abrasive, and Castle Dracula is practically designed to make is existing issues much much worse. Does Dracula enjoy that as proof that his torments are working? Or is it just unpleasant, so he kills him?
I honestly do not know anything whatsoever about Monk's detective methodology, or how quickly he would figure out Dracula, or what he would do with that information.
I do think that if he gets out, he is probably in an even worse mental and physical state than Jonathan was. The man is not okay going in, he's definitely not okay coming out.
I am going to throw this one open to further discussion I think.

managers? managers. let's go!!
(aka kennedy made an excellent excellent post and i realized I WAS PART OF THE PROBLEM so now we have miyagi manager headcanons bc i don't do nearly enough for them . . . also have a healthy side of runayachi)
runa feels like soft synth pop and slow sweet indie music and makes playlists to show her love, so while yachi definitely does not understand the significance of getting a playlist from her the rest of johzenji does!!
she's in charge of the aux cord when they hit the road for games and the team always has the best time jamming out together even if they have no volume control and annoy every car within a five mile radius
(also if you remember my post where higashi and narita bond over playlists? this is totally where higashi gets it from)
speaking of which i think yachi is pretty oblivious when it comes to someone actively trying to flirt with her, especially if it's not in a way she recognizes from shoujo manga LMAAAO
it's because she always thought she was in the background!!! character b!!!! a tree!!! she doesn't think that stuff would happen to her!!! she reads high school romance manga and recognizes the obvious stuff when it happens (i.e. hinata grabbing her hand and pulling her through the city on a mad dash) but it's a SURPRISE bc why would it happen to HER!!!! she doesn't think anyone would be interested in her enough, and definitely would not flirt in ways she's not familiar with!!!
so basically runa is in for a hell of a time trying to show yachi she likes her without saying it
runa got convinced to sign up as team manager when misaki caught her crouching outside the gym one day bc she was trying to figure out a way to repay jiri and higashi for helping her catch her dog when he'd gotten loose during a walk the other day
otherwise runa would be in the music club with her mad piano/keyboard skills
sometimes misaki wonders if she took something away from runa because runa really is talented and would probably thrive in music club and she always seems so anxious with the team (they can be a bit much, she knows) and she tells runa that it's okay for her to leave not knowing that it would break her entire heart
is runa not wanted??? did she do something wrong??? did they not like her??? but she thought she was getting along so well with them, she really considered them her friends . . .
anyways everyone barely lasts two days before they're clamoring to get runa back and it turns into a whole messy thing where runa keeps avoiding them bc seeing them hang out without her makes her sad so it becomes a game of "who the hell can get runa to stay still and let us talk"
in the end it's jiri (FULL CIRCLE!!!) who manages to get her to listen and there's a lot of tears and snot and hugs from everyone all around
nametsu kicks ass in competitive pokemon battling. i don't even know how it works myself i just know she would
she'd really like to design/code her own game someday and have her own game development studio!!! her notebooks are full of little doodles and sketches of all her ideas
(i am still so salty we never got a timeskip appearance for her)
through the power of 'everyone is following everyone in the high school boys' volleyball circuit' nametsu gets hooked up with kenma and he becomes her number one beta tester and gamer nerd friend
she's a big fan of visual novels and mmorpgs and ropes futakuchi, aone, onagawa, and obara into playing with her
okay yeah kogane and sakunami too
(she tried with the third years, but moniwa is for some reason terrible with technology, kamasaki keeps trying to fight things like 20 levels higher than him and dies without ever improving, and sasaya just likes collecting things to cook with)
also i DO think nametsu actually grows pretty close to runa and yachi and keeps an eye out for them because as much as yachi and runa admired kiyoko and misaki they were third years with their shit (relatively) together as the third years tended to be, whereas nametsu is a hot mess second year figuring things out (which makes her less scary) but still has the experience that lets runa and yachi see her as some sort of authority even if it's just by a year
tl;dr nametsu is more approachable as a second year so she, yachi, and runa actually develop more of a friendship where neither yachi or runa are tripping over their tongues all the time
also!!! childhood best friends with futakuchi!!!!
i like to think that nametsu and futakuchi met aone in middle school and they took him under their wing, which means aone's social buffs were futakuchi being a little bitch and nametsu being a little bitch in a completely opposite way
in nametsu's first year she got insecure bc she didn't know if the team saw her as "aone's and futakuchi's friend" and only talked to her because of that or if they cared about her as a person individually and she was too afraid to ask
but they did!!!!! onagawa always walked partway home with her even after they left futakuchi and aone, obara always wanted her opinion on pc mods and games and whatever, moniwa always asked to go out to coffee shops and hang out . . . and so on and so forth
nametsu didn't really believe it until they all pitched in to throw her a surprise birthday party and the cake was her favorite flavor (chocolate orange) and futakuchi was like "yeah i put onagawa and obara in charge of that and didn't really tell them to do much other than don't fuck it up" which meant. they LISTENED to her and they cared enough to know her favorite flavor and to even decorate it with a stupid coding joke and and and -
she almost burst out into tears right then and there
it was okay, though. they ended up having a lot of fun!
(even if they almost committed arson trying to light up the candles)

About the character ask, you reblogged! What about Macavity?
Yay one of the characters I’m scared to talk about!! This won’t be hard!!
tw: mentions of slow death?
Why I like them
I like how his entire gimmick is just that he's evil and “not there” It really feeds into the fact he's a mystery cat and leads to a lot of fun speculation
Why I don’t
Besides the obvious things he probably put Demeter and Bombalurina through
These nasty Dumbo Ears, “I hear everything” looking aaaaa
Tumblr media
Favorite episode (scene if movie)
Ngl his fight with Munk, I feel like it's where we get to see him at his most raw if that makes sense
Favorite season/movie
Love him in 2019 since he seems to be more of a character there if that makes sense, and I really like his motivations there.
Favorite line
“I'll be back for you Demeter” (I think that's what it was) it's technically his only line on stage so
Favorite outfit
I'm especially fond of the Broadway revival look because of course I am look at him
Tumblr media
OTP
I don't want to be harassed 😀
Uhh but from like a purely “canon” standpoint I really only see him as being in love with Demeter rn so let's go with that.
Brotp
While I don't play around with it too often I like the idea that he keeps Mungojereie around begrudgingly, he hates his guts but he's useful and Mungo often teeters the line of co-workers as pals and refers to Macavity as such which he happens to do on the occasions that Macavity isn't in the mood to stifle someone.
I don't know I haven't thought about him having friends a lot so that's the closest thing 🧍
Head Canon
his magic is slowly killing him; as a punishment courtesy of the everlasting cat. She gifted him with a power that was intended for the use of protection, and defense because in her eyes he was destined to be a tribe protector, never the leader despite his age.
and that made Macavity lose it, to be fair most jellicles assumed he’d take over after Deuteronomy strictly because of age and inheritance of magic but fate said otherwise and when his father told him he snapped. he grew disdainful, and easily tempered, and aggravated which led to him neglecting his duties completely and eventually boiling into him leaving the tribe.
but his powers only started to sting years later, when he’d hypnotize strays, attack the innocent etc. He was using a gift for harm and the everlasting cat didn’t like that. Soon his magic would take a lot more force to control, he grew tired more easily, his fur was thinning and even falling out daily, he got thinner and his mind was eating away at him. It was torture, just like the torture he had put so many others through.
Unpopular opinion
His portrayal in 98 is one of the weakest for me, his makeup was so overdone that he didn’t even look like a cat and the ways his scenes were edited were hard to follow in general.
A wish
I think it was Il sistina that did this but they had Macavity sort of spying or watching Demeter as she was singing his song (might have been Bomba’s part too) but I thought that was cool and you know more stage time for him so might as well. I just think it’s neat.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen
Idk a reboot happens and they try to give him so redemption arc would be pretty ehhhh and questionable for me
5 words to best describe them
Callous, Feral, Vicious (that’s at least what I think an alternate three words for him would be ) and then of course his regular three words Jealous, dangerous and hypnotic
My nickname for them
Dumbo ears Mac is like the only one I use to describe *that* design but I do like the “his ears are so big cause they’re full of secrets”

It’s been years, I think, since I wrote anything even slightly raunchy for Class of the Titans and I really enjoyed doing so again! I did my best to get in several characters, based on this prompt here, and hope you all enjoy!
Jay
Aqua: Top or bottom?
I think this is a little surprising, but Jay, while he can and will top, tends to be a bottom more of the time. He’s got a lot of pressure on him as a leader and people always expect him to know what he’s doing and to be in charge and I feel that sexually, he likes to just let go of all that and to relax and let someone else take charge for once. When he’s really stressed or worried about something is the times when he does take charge sexually.
Azure: What’s your biggest turn-on?
He gets really turned on by a lot of touch and he really likes it when his partner gives him back or shoulder rubs or offers him a massage. A full body massage is right up his alley and he’ll be trembling and painfully hard by the end of the massage, right on the edge of orgasm and he’ll desperately need his partner to give him that release.
Baby: Have you ever had sex with someone of the same gender?
This is just my personal headcanon, and if your view of Jay differs than I fully support that, but I do think Jay is straight, without even a hint of bicurious tendencies, and I don’t think he’s into the idea of having sex with the same gender and has never done so.
Theresa
Carolina: Have you ever had sex with someone of a different gender?
I do think that Theresa has been with someone of a different gender, and I actually feel that she’d be one of the earlier ones to lose her virginity, probably in her mid-to-late teens.
Cerulean: What’s your biggest turn-off?
It doesn’t seem like it would be her biggest turn-off to most people, but it really is. Theresa is really into her partner’s taking good care of themselves and heavy sweat or body odour will make her completely turned off, as will bad morning breath or a lack of personal grooming.
Cyan: What’s your sexual orientation?
As anyone who has read this blog for a bit knows, I’m not into discussing my takes on a character’s sexual orientation just because I don’t want to stir up any controversy, but rest assured that I am completely cool with however you want to headcanon Theresa’s sexual orientation.
Herry
Cobalt: Rough or soft?
Herry will never purposefully go into sex meaning to be rough and he tries really hard to hold back, since he is aware of his own strength. He prefers softer sex, either just really romantic or lazy or caring. That being said, when he gets really lost in pleasure, he can lose a little bit of his self-control and things can get quite rough, especially when he’s getting close to his orgasm.
Cornflower: Are you a virgin?
Herry’s one of the last to lose his virginity. His grandmother had the talk with him fairly early in his life and while she explained the details, she also hammered it into his head that he shouldn’t rush to lose his virginity, that it was to be a gift between two people who truly love each other, and Herry wouldn’t really want to lose his virginity until he really fell in love for the first time.
Denim: Are you naturally submissive or dominant?
Because of his size, a lot of people would just assume that Herry was more into being dominant sexually but he’s really not. He actually leans more towards being submissive sexually and is so eager to please his lovers, willing to let them take the lead or to follow their orders. That being said, he’s not into anything more extreme than maybe being tied up, and he wouldn’t like a harder dom or anything degrading in the slightest. He needs a soft dom, who will give him praise and encouragement and won’t push his limits too much.
Atlanta
Electric: Do you prefer lingerie to regular underwear?
Not at all. Atlanta lives in her sports bra and plain cotton underwear and I feel she’d actually be really into boxer shorts, especially the ones designed for women, especially in fun patterns or prints.
Indigo: Do you like phone sex?
No. This is actually a pretty hard no for her. It’s just awkward and it does nothing for her and, if a partner was to keep pushing for it or trying to instigate it, it actually turns her off quite a bit.
Lapis: What’s your best fantasy?
Atlanta has a really big kink for sex outdoors. She wants to go for midnight runs that end with getting rutted against a tree or her riding her partner desperately in a forest clearing, the sound of nature and the feeling of the wind on her skin just enhancing the sounds of sex and pleasure and the feeling of deep need and approaching orgasm.
Odie
Midnight: Are you into role-play?
I do see this being a kink for Odie. He likes sexy costumes on his partner and especially sexy cosplays from his favourite comics, videogames, and shows. Most of his roleplay would veer into geeky territory, though he does have a thing for student-teacher roleplays or the hot librarian roleplay.
Oxford: Have you ever had sex with more than one person in a 24 hour period?
No. And it will remain a no forever, even if it is a kink of his partner’s and even if his partner gives him permission. Odie is so incredibly monogamous that the idea of being with more than one person sexually makes him a little nauseous. He doesn’t even find the idea of a threesome appealing, despite it being one of the most common male fantasies.
Periwinkle: Do you use sex toys often?
I don’t think Odie uses sex toys all that often. He has an interest in sex toys and he’s really into the idea of using one but he’s really quite shy with his sexuality and he’s too embarrassed to order them online and definitely wouldn’t ever be able to walk into a sex shop to buy one.
Neil
Persian: Would you do public sex at all?
Okay, I know this might seem out there, but I feel, what with his inflated ego, high opinion of his own attractiveness, and need for attention that Neil actually would do porn with a partner if they were at all up to it. He’d be completely fine with them not wanting their own face shown and he wouldn’t brag about it, but he definitely enjoys filming them having sex and would throw it up on PornHub.
Powder: Vanilla sex or spiced up?
Neil needs a mixture of both. He can get bored pretty easily sexually. He still wants vanilla sex, especially if he’s feeling blue or if he’s in a lazy period, but he wants there to be some sexual adventure in his sex life. When he and his partner are experimenting sexually or indulging in kinks, he wants those occasions to be more of a big deal, with more effort put into those times.
Prussian: Confess a kink to me?
Neil really likes to watch himself have sex, so he’ll really enjoy having sex with a partner in front of a mirror. In his own bedroom, he’ll probably install a mirror on the ceiling just so that he can always see the action from multiple angles, no matter what position he’s in.
Archie
Royal: What’s your favourite position?
Archie’s actually really simple in terms of his taste and he’ll really enjoy most of the basic vanilla positions, though he does like cowgirl position a little more than some of the others because of the visual aspects of it. However, he does need a lot of changing it up in terms of positions during sex to actually reach orgasm.
Sky: Do you read smut/watch porn?
I actually have this pretty strong headcanon that not only does Archie read smut, but he writes it too. He’s really popular in a couple of fandoms, or on places like Wattpad where he posts more original writings, for his erotic writing.
Teal: Where was the strangest place you ever had sex?
Archie is another one who I could see being quite into having sex in nature, provided that it was done in a more private setting. I think he’s probably had sex in a cave while out hiking, with that being the strangest place for him.
Tiffany: Would you/do you do sex work?
That’s one of Archie’s heaviest hard no’s. He’s not puritanical, by any means, but he does have a healthy respect for sex and doesn’t believe it should be a really casual thing and I think he’d have a less than stellar view of those who did do sex work.
Cronus
Turquoise: Have you ever taken part in group sex?
Yes. It was a different time, the time of the Titans, a time when morals weren’t quite so rigid and hedonistic tendencies flourished.
True: Do you remember your first time?
I really don’t think that Cronus would remember his first time. Being immortal, he’s had eons of experience and living and pleasant memories tend to be easily discarded from his mind.
Ultramarine: Do you do/enjoy oral?
I feel like Cronus is actually really good at giving oral sex but won’t get his partner off that way. He’ll get them most of the way there, but he refuses to let them cum anywhere besides around his cock. As far as receiving, he’s really into that as he loves seeing his partner on their knees for him, but he really doesn’t much care for deep throat-fucking. The noise actually turns him off more than it turns him on.

Inherited Manor Challenge 2023 FAQs
Tumblr media
How do I add the save file to my game? To place the save file, use this link and download the file.
Go to Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4 > Saves. BEFORE SAVING MAKE SURE THE FILE NAME DOES NOT MATCH ANY EXISTING FILES. It will be a string of eight numbers followed by .save, such as 12345678.save. If the numbers match one of your existing files, your existing file will be overwritten. You must change the number as adding any extra characters (12345678.save (1) or 123456789.save) to the file will make it not run. You can now load this save when you open your game just like any other saved game you have created. This is not available for console players.
There are people already in the house You loaded into the wrong lot. If you are starting in the Partihaus household with Marcus and Eva, you probably clicked on Resume on the main menu instead of Load Game. The good news is this is the easiest fix ever: simply go to manage worlds and locate the correct lot on the map. Continue as directed.
The lot isn’t damaged! And yes I am on the correct lot If you are playing with the save file without all of the required packs or playing with the gallery download, the burns will not stay. This is very annoying but out of my control, which is why I added alternative rules. You can delete existing furniture before moving in, or after then resetting your money with the money cheat, to “fix” this.
Where do I start? This year there is actually a little more structure to the challenge, so you can use the maps and room descriptions to follow the order I recommend. If you prefer the old way that’s fine too. Actually, let me know which you like better. That would be helpful for the Inherited Manor Challenge 2024.
Can you make a base game version? I did make a base game version alongside the original challenge, and that is still pinned on my reddit page for your consideration. I will probably make another one in the future but not this year.
How do I restore burned furniture? You can replace it when you have enough money, or use the Eco Lifestyle Civil Designer career to unlock the smog vacuum. You may also be able to use spells from Realm of Magic but I am not super familiar with that pack yet.
What is a full bathroom (and kitchen)? A full bath includes a place to bathe, a sink, and a toilet. A half bath will include a sink and a toilet. Sometimes a shower and sink or shower and toilet is called a three quarters bath. Bath math makes no sense. A kitchen should have all cooking methods available: stove, oven, countertop, and microwave (basically no greyed out option on the refrigerator).
How do I get my sim to stop cleaning everywhere? Locking doors and micromanaging is unfortunately the best answer for this. Feel free to add some extra walls and doors temporarily if you need to! But don’t count them towards the Room $$ total.
There’s a dirty spot my Sim can’t reach. Darn, thought I got them all. If you replace the flooring, the burn marks will go away, and you can move any ashes or trash into a reachable space.
I am still confused on how to know if a room is done. Understandable! It’s kind of weird to explain. Let’s take the Carriage House as an example. Once you have all of the required furniture items, go into build mode and click on one of the rooms. If you click on the bathroom, it’s obviously a room of its own, so you’ll see the walls are all highlighted. If you click on the part with the kitchen, or at least where I put it, the room ends at the edge of the platform because the game counts platforms as rooms of their own in most cases, so there will be sort of a ghost wall along that platform edge. Once you have a single room selected, click on the folder icon in the toolbar at the top of your screen and use the Save Room option. This will act like you are going to upload the room to your library or gallery but you don’t have to. All we want is to know what the total cost of that room is. To know if you meet the goal for the Carriage House you’ll add the totals of the bathroom, raised main floor area, lowered main floor area, and second floor together. These room totals will include walls and windows, so if you swapped any of those out that will be reflected, and that way you don’t have to track furniture costs etc.
Bust the Dust is causing serious issues because I can’t clean the next room yet! You have my full blessing to disable the dust system.
Is this the Heir to Ruins challenge? Nope! I didn’t know that challenge existed until I uploaded the original Inherited Manor Challenge so any similarities are purely coincidence.
Stuff is missing! If you are using the gallery download, I deleted all of the burned furniture since it wouldn’t place correctly anyway. If you don’t have all of the packs and stuff is missing like doors, windows, and so on, replace them with whatever you’d like! I know the game replaces most things from unowned packs, but apparently it has not been replacing all of the doors and windows this time around. If you have all of the packs and stuff is still missing, congratulations! You have discovered a new bug! Yay!
I can’t release the spirit to the netherworld! If you are playing with the save file, make sure you are trying to release the spirit using a living sim. Ghosts can’t do that interaction. If you are using the gallery download, ghosts don’t come with the lot, so that interaction isn’t available. You can still rosebud yourself $1000 after placing the urn in your graveyard, though!
Can I make an Inherited Manor Challenge? Be my guest! The main rules are you must go room by room, start with a restricted budget, and burning the house down is basically tradition. Obviously it would be really nice of you to give me the appropriate credit, plus I’d love to see what you make!
Can I stream this etc? Abso-frikkin-lutely. I humbly request you include a link where possible to the main challenge, whether that is this Reddit post or the Tumblr one.
Still have questions?
This is a link to the Reddit post

BUNGO SPOILERS
ok so I have Thoughts.
First of all, the anime going ahead of the manga I have seen before in other fandoms. Sometimes it meant that the plotline had been neatly wrapped up for the anime and the manga would diverge. Take that as you will
Fyodor is not dead. Come on. An arm? I’ve watched anime for too long to think he’s dead without a full body. Not to mention that an arm is particularly suspicious considering Gogol’s ability. Remember when he convincingly cut himself in half? He could very easily have transported Fyodor out of the helicopter and cut off his arm because he knew it’d convince Dazai
Speaking of Gogol, if Fyodor is dead I am robbed of seeing Gogol kill (or at least try to) Fyodor and that isn’t fair. To me.
Chuuya being a fake vampire? Checks out, sounds like some shit Mori would do. Sad we didn’t get to see him act directly in this episode but eh.
Chuuya’s teeth being glued in and him unable to get them out? I have literally had this exact experience trying to glue in vampire teeth for a Halloween costume once. I was picking glue out of my gums for a week it was awful
Tecchou and Kenji being alive? What I expected.
Jouno and Tachihara are still up in the air I guess
Poe’s book. Can it suspend death? Is Fukuzawa somehow not still bleeding out from being stabbed through the heart? Bsd hates medical science. Also does Poe’s book write stuff on command? I thought he had to deliberately write the story which would mean he was working with Fukuchi? I’m confused.
Ranpo being alive and healed? Makes sense but I wanted to see Yosano do it so I knew she was alive.
Akutagawa no longer being a vampire and being alive? THAT’S MY FUCKING BOY! Also his new medieval knight outfit is fucking brilliant and I want him to know it makes him look very sexy
Bram saving Aya. We all knew it but were glad to see it.
Bram having his whole body back when it got mentioned (at least in the manga) that he’d die if the sword was pulled out? I mean I support it but that feels like a plothole
Bram being Aya’s knight? Adorable, I want to see him adopt her. I want the adventures of the weirdly old adult who knows nothing of the modern world and the reckless kid with a good heart and an iphone
Whoever Atsushi and Aku are fighting? Unclear but it looks like it’s holding Fukuchi’s sword so maybe it’s the sword itself? He did say smtg about a legendary sword maker. I’d guess it was Crime and Punishment but it doesn’t look Russian enough
Fyodor’s Hebrew: excellent, we love to see it, last words of Jesus, that’s the good shit. Also irl Fyodor getting out of prison and living a better life vs bsd Fyodor getting out of prison and dying…idk where I was going with this anyway irony
The bullet not piercing the skull trick. Frankly was one of the ideas I thought of, not surprised Dazai’s a fucking cockroach.
Fukuchi’s plan. Naive at best but relatively good intentioned. I’m not ready to like him as a character and probably never will. Killing 500 people, how the hell could he keep it so precise? It’s also an interesting debate about the life of an individual vs the life of the collective, almost a trolley problem thing, curious to see how Fukuzawa decides about it
Not a fan of Fukuzawa crying. If I do not see it, it cannot make me sad
Fukuchi’s plan cont. changing reality with the book is the only way I can think of to make this plan even somewhat feasible. Without it the plan would collapse. Do you know how many wars would be fought just over who controlled One Order? Why can’t the original ability user use it? So many questions
One Order’s design: Soul-Eater-Kishin-ass-looking-thing
Can One Order even still control armies without them under control of the vampire ability? What about the seal on Fukuchi’s wrist that made him control Bram? The sword being coded to Fukuzawa’s voice? How???? There are so many questions around that alone
How does Bram undo the vampirism I want to see it?! Is Aku still injured when he is de-vamped?
Fukuchi said it was a U.N. ordinance about One Order. Is he aware not every country is in the U.N.? Also, if someone manages to launch and nuclear missile before One Order is activated it can’t exactly be deactivated. There are so many issues with this plan it’s like Thanos’
Where is the book???? I want to know????
So Sigma is just dead then? Fuck. And we still don’t get to lean what Fyodor’s ability does
Fyodor having vampire spies among the Mersault guards is such a cop-out, give me something cool like Dazai’s communication strategy
Strongest opponent after /that man/. WHO IS FYODOR TALKING ABOUT I NEED TO KNOW GIVE ME TOLSTOY OR GIVE ME DEATH!
I’ll probably add more thoughts as I have them but these are my preliminary ones

A study on prosecutors -- (previous) (next)
And now, some dark coffee for your jazz soul.
Okay full disclaimer upfront: I actually dislike Godot a lot. I think he's a bastard in a very unfun way and was never convinced by the game to be endeared to him. At every point he jars against me, though I understand why he would be appealing. He was designed to be cool and I can definitely see that. Many players find him attractive and compelling, but I am not one of them.
What I will say is that he was the perfect final boss to Phoenix's character arc in the trilogy. In fact, I believe that Godot is the most dangerous adversary we ever face in a mainline Ace Attorney game.
You probably understand what I mean by that if you've been following along. But still, let's start at the beginning.
Changing things up right from the get-go to set us off balance: the one to introduce us to Godot's presence is Luke Atmey, of all people. He even tosses in a line about how Edgeworth himself backed him as the best in the country, despite this being a total lie as we learn much later. It's a great setup to the mystery, however; who could this prosecutor be to even have Edgeworth's seal of approval?
Well, it turns out Godot is, in actuality, a complete nobody! Never having been in a single case as a prosecutor before this moment. It's sort of a funny play on our expectations, considering we've grown used to the spiel of prosecutors going undefeated in the courts for however many years. Nah, this guy is a total newbie on the scene.
And yet he knows our name. He knows who we are a little too well, in fact. Phoenix and we the player are rightfully unsettled by this guy's rather upfront disdain for us. It gets our minds turning; who could this man be? Another person like Edgeworth, maybe, connected to Phoenix's past?
(The game has given us all the clues we need to put it together, of course, but none of the context to fit any of it into coherency. It's so cool to see how well they set this all up from the very first trial; every piece of this puzzle was in our hands long before we could form a picture with it all.)
If you thought you might be dealing with a rookie, however, Godot makes it clear from the start that despite this being his first ever trial as a prosecutor, he's not lacking in any kind of experience. He basically runs circles around us, keeping a cool control over the proceedings and even managing to stay one step ahead of us at all times. It's like he knows our methods inside and out; it's a little uncanny just how outmatched we almost are against him. It's a little uncanny how prepared he is for every turn, how hard he battles against us and makes us work for every inch we gain. This in spite of Atmey doing his damndest to be found guilty, too!
The message is made clear upfront: you are going to have to really show that you've grown yourself in playing these games. You have to call on all your own experience in order to meet him and manage your case.
Even when you prove Ron's innocence, Godot cuts you down before you have the time to celebrate. Due to your arguments, you've ended up implicating him in a murder. A fact Godot definitely knew this whole time.
Thus ends our first trial day. And what an intro it is.
The setup of Godot as a right bastard is almost too good, in my opinion. He's a formidable opponent, refusing to give Phoenix any leeway and shutting us down at every turn. He goes so far as to restrict you to a perfect press or a single piece of evidence to present more than once! It's a very cool sort of mechanical playing around, a sort of "you better have studied up on what you're doing" advancement for the final game of the original trilogy, and for that I like it a lot! It really does feel like the culmination to every previous case we've ever charged our way through. A final test, if you will, hence my calling Godot our most formidable opponent.
It also, however, lends itself to my finding him too much of a bastard to really find likable. And we are meant to like him! I'm fairly sure, at least. He was designed to be cool and the ending really leans towards this. But I don't think it came together in the end, at least not for me.
Our second trial day is more of the same. Godot puts on the pressure and we have to fight tooth and nail to even get our point across. He gives us one chance to get it right and so we do just that. No matter the odds he throws at us, we manage in the end to prove Ron's innocence once more. And despite being thrown from his cool demeanour, it never gets to the point of a complete break in his facade, like it does for our other prosecutors. No matter how much we get Godot on the ropes, he's too smooth of a customer to ever be fully floundering.
It's a great way of showing he's cool, I'll give them that. It also goes a long way to presenting him as the determinator he is. Can you really get a more iconic line than, "I have returned from the depths of hell to do battle with you"? They gave Godot several really good lines. But he's a lot less relatable as a result. Until we learn his full deal, he's more antagonist than he is a person. His one motivating goal we ever really see from him is that he hates Phoenix and wants to destroy Phoenix completely. A goal not unique to him, really; another factor going against him feeling anything other than pure antagonist. And sure, we had our antagonists in Edgeworth, in Manfred, and in Franziska. But they had motives outside of purely crushing Phoenix. They showed their humanity somewhere in their first appearances. (Yes, even Manfred had something to him outside of pure antagonist.)
But Godot? He's a man of mystery. An appealing mystery, but one that never quite grabbed me like it was meant to.
Either way, we start the third case and come across our next truth about Godot: he's specifically seeking out trials we're heading.
It is funny how apparent it becomes that the Phoenix who blundered Maggey's initial trial was a phony due to Godot's complete disinterest in the case to begin with. If we weren't all ready keyed into this fact considering we're Phoenix ourselves, it's a hilarious little bit of character reinforcement. Godot sure does hate us! And only us, not some pretender faking as us. It's a trait that stays consistent about him and I appreciate how silly it is, even if it's just reinforcing his one main character motivation.
His methods through this trial remain the same, an unforgiving test of our skills. Though special mention to that moment where Armstrong flirts with him and he takes it in stride. Now that is how you write a smooth operator, I find that the most compelling moment Godot has. The reveal that he can't see red on white is also intriguing, another piece to this puzzle we can't quite fit anywhere. (A small aside, I realised recently that because Phoenix wears a red tie and a white dress shirt, this means Godot can't see Phoenix's tie at all. Hilarity, actually. I'm so sad this is a detail that is too silly to ever bring up, if they even realised it themselves, at least.)
But by the end of this trial, our battle is mostly with Tigre, not Godot. He chucks his coffee at us as the lights go out in the court and we see the glow of his visor. We've won Maggey's innocence, we've proved Tigre's guilt, and yet Godot is still as cool as ever.
By this point, the mystery deserves some sort of answer. Which we get once we start the fourth case and see one Diego Armando.
Now, I actually find Diego to be a much more intriguing character than Godot. They're the same in effect, cool and confident (and kinda misogynistic bastards), but Diego is the man who is alive. Godot is his shadow, and as this trial goes on you begin to understand exactly that. Diego coaches Mia through the case, encouraging her (and being a bit too condescending, but y'know. It's a trope, it's someone's cup of tea) and even getting the line which many consider one of the coolest in the series: "A lawyer doesn't cry until it's all over". Diego does a hell of a lot of work to humanise Godot, to make everything about him understandable and click into place. For that, I really applaud them.
It hurts all the more knowing what we do from case 1, that he's going to be poisoned and put into a coma. It hurts knowing that this trial ends in tragedy for literally everyone involved, despite all our best efforts to fight for the truth.
And Diego had to deal with the guilt of knowing he lent his hand towards Terry's death. He gave the man his coffee with which to drink that poison. I really do feel all his regret when he crushes the mug in his hand and turns to face Mia, his hand dripping with blood. Actually the coolest moment drenched in that overwhelming tragedy. What a great way to convey all his regrets while retaining his level-headed demeanour.
They've shown their hand and we've put this puzzle together. It's all in service of the final case of the game, in which there's so many threads to wrap up that tie together beautifully.
The fact that Godot can't make it to the first day of the trial is our first big clue, even if it fits with his character. Phoenix isn't able to make it to the trial, either. Of course Godot wouldn't show up if Phoenix wasn't there! It's a clever nod to this setup they've established and also a great clue to the truth of things. And when we finally do see him again, it's in front of the training chamber and he really shows off his true colours. He doesn't hold back in telling us how little he thinks of us, nor does he hold back against Franziska. (And how dare he, really!!) His words bite into Phoenix, though, and make him falter in his normally unwavering faith in what he's doing. It may seem ridiculous to us, what Godot says, but it's digging into that same sense of grief he and Phoenix both feel over Mia's death.
Finally, though, we can understand why exactly he holds this grudge against Phoenix; it's misplaced grief. Godot lost someone he cared deeply for, someone he felt he should have been protecting, through a perceived blunder on his part. He found out at the same time that Mia's understudy took up her mantle but also couldn't save her. And so he channelled any and all of his grief and guilt at Mia's death into hatred for Phoenix. He blames Phoenix wrongfully for Mia's death because there was nothing he could do to save Mia, so how could this guy have also done nothing? How could he not have saved her? It's a refusal to meet his grief, an insistence on only action mattering in the face of such crippling feelings, a sense of machismo that is more familiar than expected.
(Because didn't Phoenix fall into this as well when Edgeworth was presumed dead? Didn't Phoenix also misplace all his grief into anger in his refusal to confront his feelings over Edgeworth seemingly rejecting all his efforts to help him?) What I'm saying is that Takumi had a pattern to his writing grief in the original trilogy exemplified perfectly in both Phoenix and Godot's reactions to finding out their loved one had died. It's an unhealthy sort of grief, a complicated sort of coping with those emotions too agonising to deal with, and a fascinating look into a built in parallel between our main antagonist and our protagonist.
After all, if Phoenix could come to terms with his grief, if he could move on to a healthier sort of acceptance, than maybe Godot can, too.
But it's a little too late for Godot as he proves to have let that anger rule his actions. He's the one who killed Maya's mother, even if at the time she was channeling the woman who took Diego out of the world.
I also like this bit of the trial, cross-examining Maya but in actuality pressing Godot for answers. It's a neat little twist, that we use Maya as the jumping point for catching Godot in his lies. Maya's insistence in protecting him is pretty interesting, mainly because I don't understand what drives her to do so other than the fact that he protected her (they never interacted before while Mia was alive, so she only knows him from the two trials Phoenix had against him), but it is a really fascinating point in her testimony.
Again, I'm really sure we're meant to like him as well. This is supposed to make sense! As is his sharing a cup with Phoenix as the trial comes to an end. There's supposed to be that catharsis there, that acceptance of two enemies setting their swords down and coming to an understanding. I see it, but I just don't really feel it, sorry.
Anyway, yeah. I'm probably pretty off-base with most of this. I'd appreciate hearing more opinions on the coffee man!!

Master Recs: The "N64" Trilogy (2023)
Tumblr media
Pseudoregalia
Let us muse over a very small, three-dimensional Metroidvania game stylistically fashioned after the Nintendo 64 era of graphical fidelity. It stars a deliciously polygonal rabbit-y, goat-y, cat-like girl.
Tumblr media
Now, I am playing this on the fabled Steam Deck. It runs and controls smoothly on the platform but you might require to fiddle with the video settings as the default configuration is slightly blurry due to a very specific and fascinating reason. It turns out Pseudoregalia vaunts a certain level of depth in its technical customization, one that's surprisingly fun to manipulate. There's an option to toggle on or off a retro graphical scale and character movement rate, which graciously emulate the old school console experience. You can also manually reduce or augment the maximum framerate for the whole game. You could theoretically play something that looks like a 30 fps 3D Platformer from 1997 or the most HD upscaled version thereof at 144 fps, or everything in between! The default, blurry configuration comes as a result of the aforementioned retro scaling clashing with the 4K resolution in full screen mode. This is the first and last time in recorded human history that I will ever be this enamoured with "specs talk."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The point is, we have a darling gem with a cultivated aesthetic, a good level of polish: it will look "right" regardless of your favoured settings. I'm impressed by the extra layer of work placed in the subtle use of limited framerates for the character's movement.
Tumblr media
Pseudoregalia captures the idea, the abstract concept and low-poly charm of a N64 title with a gameplay that recalls your memory of it, rather than the unwieldy reality. I say this as someone who doesn't have nostalgia for early 3D graphics: the game makes them look spiffy.
Tumblr media
I shall be honest, this is normally not the sort of title I would enjoy playing, as precise platforming and traversal puzzles are my nemesis. I mentioned afore the level of polish, which is generally consistent, but some of the movement upgrades you get (such as the jump/wall kick) can be rather finicky to master. In that sense, be wary that the game does not openly provide you with tutorials for the moves that require more finesse, choosing instead to hide an additional set of instructions in the inventory descriptions. It's "old school", you see. Older versions were bereft of maps thus making exploration a burden for those like me who are directionally challenged - both in games and in real life. Regardless, I kept getting drawn by its world, its somber atmosphere, its tight gameplay and especially its protagonist, Sybil.
Tumblr media
An appealing design for your avatars goes a long way in ensuring an emotional connection to them and Sybil just so happens to have one of the most striking and instantly recognizable appearances I can fathom. It's a pleasure to look at her go! Furthermore, I would posit that she has a lot in common with my precious videogame fluffy boy, Klonoa - and I do I mean, a lot. I will not elaborate. If you get it, you get it. In conclusion, Pseudoregalia is an impressively put together jam. It's easy to pick up yet punishing to handle, it's fun and fascinating in spite of its more irritating aspects. The best overall critique I can give it is that it made me want to keep trying, and trying, and trying, until I eventually became good enough to complete it several times and even beat the insanely hard Time Attacks. In short: game is good. Play it.
---
Corn Kidz 64
If I had a nickel for every time a throwback 3D Platform game starring a cute goat-like creature managed to grab my attention, I would have a whopping three nickels! Anyway, here is Corn Kidz 64, an artistically verosimile homage to the Rareware games you probably remember.
Tumblr media
Deliciously stylized polygons welcome both you and I into a quirky mindscape. You play as a rude little prick named Seve who's having a vivid nachos related dream but has to contend with various bollocks - as it's often the case.
Tumblr media
If you are even marginally familiar with all the Kanjo-Bazooies and Konkey Dongs out there then you will recognize its sphere of influences right away. It's a proper tribute to that era of gaming up to the inclusion of the "correct" low video resolution settings and insane completion requirements. There is much puzzling and platforming to be had, tactical traversal and secrets-within-secrets to bamboozle and titillate your gamer's lizard brain. Genre freaks will feel very welcome here.
I will say that I find the character design especially pleasing. Aesthetically, I would place it somewhere in between Rayman. Belgian comic book artist André Franquin and web strips from twenty years ago or more. It's expressive, to say the least.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a sign of good will from the game's part, this is the track that greets you as you plunge into the realm of your dreams of childhood:
Corn Kidz 64 is a short, fun experience, bedazzled by tight controls, surreal atmosphere and "Early Internet" humour. It does not overstate its welcome and only occasionally gets immensely frustrating. Its dedication to the N64 ethos is both a boon and a detriment, in that sense. Let me put it this way: I shall not be doing a 110% completion run any time soon.
---
Cavern of Dreams
As a direct result of me wanting more, here is Cavern of Dreams. Yet another N64 aesthetically driven title that came out last year but was promptly overshadowed by Funny Goat Game and Sexy Goat Game - as far as my own pop cultural myopia is concerned, that is.
Tumblr media
It is a small yet multilayered Collect-A-Thon with an emphasis on exploration rather than combat or complex platforming. There is no health bar and there are no traditional enemies. There is a handful of puzzles here and there, some of which might be legitimate head scratchers. The dragon baby is cute. I do have a couple of gripes with this one.
Tumblr media
Playing this game is, in a word, annoying. It is bothersome how weighted and limited the movement is, it is fastidious how the character collision is in relation to the environment, it is aggravating how it all affects the gameplay in small yet noticeable ways. Here's an example: you can use the traditional ground pound to gain extra height. However, in order to do so, you have to keep pressing the attack button while in midair. The problem with that is the game still registers it as an attack when you do so. As such, if you happen to be hugging a wall, atop a small ledge, this action will inevitably cause your character to hit said wall and propel you backwards, resulting in you falling to your doom. This happened constantly. Generally speaking, the control scheme doesn't feel ideally tailored to an experience that requires precise platforming. A repeated offender would be grabbing onto climbable ropes. Which is to say, sometimes it just doesn't happen. You'll float towards a rope and, if the collision isn't pixel-perfect, you will miss it entirely. Also, Baby is unable to jump above once he climbs all the way to the top, half the time. The later levels are worse in that regard as they need some amount of skill.
Tumblr media
Speaking of which, something that will always make me consider quitting a game in a fit of rage is being sucked down a drain that expels me into a different area, forcing me to walk all the way back to where I was before. Once again, annoying is the word.
All that said, the saving grace of Cavern of Dreams lies in the exquisitely crafted, imaginative stages that compose the dreamlike tapestry of the game's aesthetics: living airborne vessels, desolate ice kingdoms, nightmarish art galleries that twist and distort your senses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The use of colour hues, sounds and deliberately non-contiguous spaces create this palpable atmosphere of both wonder and anxiety. A welcoming world may turn weird and alienating. A dream may turn into a nightmare. There is a depth beneath the surface presentation that is absolutely worth experiencing. I really wanted to like this game but, alas, I'm left with mostly mixed feelings. Regardless, it's an adorable title with some tinges of darkness and it might just be for you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
---
As a conclusive note, I find myself enthralled by the subtle similarities these games share as well as their abundant differences. All of them are stylistically reminiscent of a specific bygone era whilst being perfectly distinct in presentation, and they all are about Dreams...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are about exploring dreamscapes, lands where subconscious thoughts and memories materialize in daunting vistas of a forlorn past, comically bizarre hyper-realities from an active imagination or an infant's idea of the world around itself. Pondering about the familiarity of it all fills me both with comfort and melancholy: the parallelism of Dream, Childhood and Gaming. The distant memories of youth in correlation to the experience of videogame escapism are akin to a dream from which we are expected to wake... Well, now I just want to gush about Klonoa again!
In fact, I would go as far as to say that Corn Kidz 64's "plot resolution" feels like a direct parody of Door to Phantomile's ending, and it gets funnier the more I think about it.

Hey, I hadn't seen your Oc Iggy (?) before today, can I ask 2 and 30 for the ask game (I think I've got those numbers right, about powers and motivation?)
Ooh thank you so much for asking!
I have to confess they aren't really my oc ^^' (though the design is all me since they don't have any official pictures)
They're a secondary character from the book "Sonic the Hedgehog and the Silicon Warriors". But I have changed them so much for my au so it's almost like having an oc (though I try to keep as many aspects of their characterization from the book as a can, the universe of the book is so different from the modern games so a lot of stuff gets changed)
Their full name is Ichneumon, but they go by Iggy. In the book they're a temporary sidekick to Sonic. (Tails gets trapped in cyberspace).
(I'll still answer because when else am I gonna get a chance to talk about them! I'm gonna answer based on my au rather than the book though. I'll specify what things are based on the book)
2. Powers/Abilities?
(In the book, they can run pretty fast. It impresses Sonic (!), but they still can't keep up with Sonic and Tails when they're going full speed. They're also a computer programmer (it took me forever to get the joke, they're a mouse that does computers – a computer mouse!). Since the book deals with cyberspace and stuff, they needed a character that would have some skills in that area)
I think most of Sonic's friends have some enhanced physical abilities, so they're probably slightly faster than an average person, but not a "speed" type, so to speak.
Programming... ok. They're basically your average hollywood-esque "*hacker voice*: I'm in" type of programmer. Anything you imagine a character of that archetype could do, they probably can. (I decided not to be shy and make them op in their main area of specialization)
(Also I guess they're a child genius too? If you count it as a "power". Though of course they're more specialized than Tails who while has specific interests dabbles a little bit in everything)
(Eventually they also become an expert on the Chaos Emeralds. It's mostly because of their cyberspace research and its connection to the Ancients and then the Ancients' connection to the Chaos Emeralds. Not really for the Emeralds' own sake. They also can't really use Chaos control or anything like that)
They're not a fighter by any means, but I didn't want them to be completely defenseless so eventually they become a pretty proficient user of a boomering (yeah, from Sky Patrol, I thought it would be a cute thing to bring back)
They're also really good at rollerblading.
30. What is their main goal/motive?
I don't really have anything deep, but I guess— Their whole life they felt kind of small and insignificant (They're literally a mouse but it's also kind of a metaphor). They're from some backwater island where nothing happens, they're a middle kid with a bunch of siblings, etc. So they want to become metaphorically "bigger", really put their talents to use and try to make a difference.
Their external goal is the cyberspace research, (re)creating a working cyberspace that could be used for the benefit of the public. (Even though the book they originate from is centered around cyberspace, they don't really have an interest in it, but I thought it would be a nice reference and a cool unique thing for a character to be into) This is basically their life project. (I don't think it's something you can ever be done with, there's always things to improve). (Frontiers is really playing into my hand here, it's giving me a good way to introduce them to the cast)
What I'm missing is some sort of "inciting incident" so to speak, something that would lead them to be dissatisfied with their "small" life and something that would get them interested in cyberspace. Preferably one incident for both of those things. But I'm working on it!

Until I catch up even more on the lore and end up with more detailed lore questions, here is a list of one off question I've had that are too random and also too short to be in an ask of it's own ahfkbsjs:
1. Do the gods have a heart? Any internal organs at all?
2. What is XDs favorite mortal game
3. What is XDs favorite item he's shown off from the mortal world to the other gods.
4. Can/do the gods sing? Can they use their multiple voices to harmonize with themselves.
5. Do the gods eat? If so what :0
6. Do the gods have birthdays, and do they celebrate them?
Oki that's all for now for random small qs
(no rush answering these, they're small questions but there's a good amount of them ahfkbdks)
-emmadoodlewrites
Quick fire questions! I love it!
1. Do the gods have a heart? Any internal organs at all?
Yes! Gods definitely have a heart. I am terrible when it comes to designing and planning internal organs (for example for XD's four arm thing to work then he'd need to have 4 pecs and 4 shoulder blades) so I'd say their internal organs and how they look inside are different. I have it sketched somewhere that XD's blood is glowy so it's probably different in certain ways but not others. For sure they have a heart though, no matter what form they take.
2. What is XDs favorite mortal game
XD honestly likes games were it shows off mortals competitive natures. Stuff like sports games and competitions. I like to think his favourite would be something simple like wrestling. Something one on one. BUT if we're talking fun party games then Truth or Dare is his favourite
3. What is XDs favorite item he's shown off from the mortal world to the other gods.
Brushes. :) The kind to brush hair and the soft fluffy variety.
4. Can/do the gods sing? Can they use their multiple voices to harmonize with themselves.
YES YES YES okay so for HD and 4K's voice examples they're both singers. And idk but I always pick out singing as good voice examples cause it just helps me cement a voice to a character better. So HD and 4K can sing for sure. HD used to sing sweet lullabies to baby George :( As for the double voice thing that's so interesting to think about! I'd have to say for sure because they have full control of both their voices so they could sing in english and then a more quiet, harmonising voice of their other language. XD I think has probably never tired to sing, but probably hums which I think could sound cool with his double voice.
5. Do the gods eat? If so what :0
The Gods do not need to eat for energy and simply eat for pleasure. XD joins in with meals but does not go out of his way to eat. His favourite stuff is savoury things like meat. HD likes to snack on fruits occasionally (though hasn't for a while since living in the Godly Realm) and his favourite fruits were strawberries and grapes.
4K. Is. An. Absolute. FOODIE. 4K loves food in all it's ways. He loves eating food, he loves watching people make food and he LOVES cooking. He is a lover of all flavours though he doesn't get to have/try many since the Nether doesn't grow much but it is a hobby he is always developing.
6. Do the gods have birthdays, and do they celebrate them?
Yes, and no. So, most of the Gods (especially the older ones) consider the day they turned into a God being their birthday rather than the day of their actual birth. Sort of like a reborn thing. And since majority of the Gods were all turned into Gods on the same day it's not so much a birthday but more a widespread holiday in all of the realms. HD and 4K are included with that. The only one to not have this mindset out of the God Siblings is XD, because his birthday and God day are on the same day, but he doesn't celebrate it. He only makes a fuss if it's Dream or Drista's birthday.

CalmWriMo Day 2!
[11/2/2023]
Update!
Waywards Progress:
Made a bit of progress with one of the character prologues (has been/will be shared, but the prologues are honestly more just for me to get a better idea of writing the characters on their own before dumping them into the story ('^.^)b) Also I have the overall outline vaguely set. It's workable for now, but not sure I'm 100% happy with it. Also have a handful of ideas rattling around in that hollow brain of mine! I have the idea of making Waywards a bit "episodic" so to speak. Gonna play around and experiment with the idea a bit to see if it actually works. Besides that! If anyone has tips, tricks, advice on story structures / planning writing I am all ears! I'm way too use to just going mostly full freeform with writing stories so planning things is proving a bit of a hurdle rn (0^0). Waywards is probably the largest thing I've started to write so I'm a little worried I'll burn a lot of time and energy focusing on somethings that may just end up not fitting later on story wise... ('0.0)
2 Hour Writing Goal: ✅
Blurb: [see below]
Self Care:
Food: ✅ [leftovers!]
Hydration: ✅
Sleep: ✅ [was cutting it close last night (‘-.-), the desire to note take the night away is strong]
Reading: ✅ [Read a chapter!]
Worldbuilding blurb: Meta-Humans
What is a Meta-Human?
A Meta-Human, usually just shortened to "Meta", is simply anyone who has some form of artificially engineered genetics above a certain threshold [haven't quite decided exactly where the line will be and not sure I will tbh].
With breakthroughs in genetic engineered by corporations such as Biotechna and Helix, control over one's genetics can go as far as their wallet can take them. What kind of things could be done these kinds of augs you may ask? Firstly, most diseases and genetic disorders have effectively become curable (no promises it'll be affordable, so most people don't have access). Next, cloning! It can be done, although is still in more of pioneering phase during the time period Waywards is set in and is prone to various setbacks. Usually anyone born via any cloning or "built from scratch" process are technically considered corporate property... Want a designer baby? Trivial!
Although more intresting, at least visually, is people can now adopt some unique characteristics. One could grow a tail, pointed ears, gain inhuman strength, even completely alter skin into scales. The only real limitation is money, imagination, and the outer limits of genetic stability. A generation has gone by since the technologies have become available and now some features have proven to be inheritable. This fact coupled with some ‘back alley’ genetic engineering lead to a small population boom of Metas. While still a minority of the population there are now extremely diverse communities of Metas across the city.
[Thanks for reading! Won't have as much time tmr for writing (>.<), but I promise there will at least be a bit of a blurb of worldbuilding stuff here. Anyways and always, hope you are having a lovely day, peace! (-v-)v]

I don’t think you understand how FULKIN EXCITED I AM for Inside Out 2
I have so many questions and theories but this is the one I think is the most compelling
If someone else has already come up with this theory, great minds thing alike I guess, I’ve been avoiding anything except for the posters and trailers cause I fell victim to Turning Red spoilers
Ok
Ok
Ok
So you know how the mom, dad, broccoli pizza lady, dog, cat, boyfriend, etc didn’t have any of the new emotions in their mind?
Anxiety, Embarrassment, Ennui, and Envy
I think these emotions are all the dark, more extreme, more negative versions of Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust
As someone who has been institutionalized briefly because my Anxiety was so bad, I can tell you Anxiety is a more extreme version of Fear
Ennui is basically boredom with life, melancholy, or depression, so clearly a more extreme version of Sadness
Embarrassment is inward Disgust, Disgust with one’s self, and is more toxic than regular Disgust
And Envy is Anger over the the perceived unfairness of what other people have. Go watch the ContraPoints video if you haven’t already. But yes, a more toxic manifestation of Anger.
I believe all five of our main emotions — Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear, and Anger — will be separated from the control base and the beginning of Riley’s puberty journey, and these negative emotions will take their place
Which, as someone who has gone through puberty three times, I can tell you emotions with puberty are a lot more heightened and extreme
What I’m trying to say is it will be a Dr Jeckell Mr Hyde kinda thing with all the new emotions being Hyde
But I hear you saying, what about Joy
I have a couple theories about Joy’s alternate, toxic self
1) it’ll be a toxic version like the rest, probably Schadenfreude, and the reason they didn’t include Schadenfreude in the teaser is because it’s going to be a big joke when they get introduced, kinda like the burgundy bird in Angry Birds, where Schadenfreude is like this giant menacing emotion, see this
2) it’ll be Love, and they will come in at the end and make the 5 emotion’s rediscover self love and love for their alter ego selves, which will lead to them understanding the complexity and range of human emotions
3) it’ll be Lust, who doesn’t get mentioned until the last second in a post credit scene as a joke for the parents (and they won’t say the full name, just like the character, in a super sexy voice, will be like “I’m luuuuuuuuss-“
4) it will be Obsession and they’re still figuring out the kinks of the character design. Their name fits with the “new emotions names start with a vowel” trend
5) It will be Peaceful, same thing as Love
6) it will be Antici…
…Pation and they’re trying to get Tim Curry to play the emotion version of Frank N Furter
7) Euphoria, but they didn’t want to announce them because Disney might have been in hot water if they announced that before the movie came out because crazy conservatives would be like “OMG DISNEY IS PUSHING DRUG USE ON KIDS?????!!!!???!???”
8) Or I could be completely wrong
Ok
Ok
Ok
Also, for designs, you know how each of the OG five were based on objects associated with their emotions?
Fear was a nerve ending, joy was a star, sadness a tear drop, Anger a fire brick, Disgust broccoli
So far I think Envy is based on the Evil Eye 🧿
Embarrassment is what we in the Bizz like to call a Dysphoria hoodie
Idk about Anxiety and Ennui tbh
Ok
Ok
Ok
Lastly, I’m sad that Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling aren’t returning. No offence to the new actors, but come on Disney, pay your people better
Ok
That’s all for now

hii i love your ocs they look amazing could you tell us more about them?
hihi if this is about the new sketches i just made then there's so much i could tell you about them and at the same time so little things to talk about..... but let's go you're in here for a ride this is gonna be long
So those ocs are from left to right: Eli, Gala, Gavriel and Loreto, all belonging to the same universe, but i've had them for so long that their stories and world building and everything has changed so many times that nothing about them makes sense really (and i'm considering changing everything again to be less fantasy,, maybe, idk). Let me tell you about each one of those in order now under the cut:
> Eli: full name Elijah but i'm considering changing it to Elías because i don't want any of my ocs to have an english name anymore. This one is my favorite of favorites, he is my babygirl and my wet piece of gargabe of a son <3 He's the main character of my oc world and any other oc i have revolves around him somehow. The thing about this guy is that he transforms into a dragon and this only makes sense because i made him when i was 13 (and i am 24 now), so please bear with me... i was an early teen and that was the coolest thing to me at the time... anyway everything about him, from his story to his appearance, has changed multiple times but i kept that trait (the dragon thing) because i think it's funny but it also makes me cringe every time i have to say it. Also he's my pfp. Sadly the only thing i can tell you rn about this guy's story is that he's been travelling and surviving on his own for -reasons- and meeting new people through his travels, nothing specific because, again, i might change everything
> Gala: probably the most recent one out of these four, still from 2017-ish so she's been around the block for quite a while already. She's one of the only who's story probably stayed the same through all these years. She's the daughter of a duchess who rules/controls over a region and its people, so high class, rich and likes to show it. She has an older brother who was one of my favorite ocs for a while. In relation to the oc stories, Eli had to work for her family for some time and they grew close together, even though he was there to just do chores around the house. Gala doesn't have any friends due to her position and appreciates the company of someone her age even if it's a house worker and lower class. She's just a plain human tho, nothing fantasy or magical about her.
> Gavriel: or Gav/Gavi for short. I made this guy around 2016 for a roleplay group thingy and eventually, when that thing ended, i threw him into the pit that is this oc universe because i liked his design. He and Loreto (girl on his right) are both orphans and grew together as siblings. He had some weird "powers" i don't know how to describe without a doodle for you to get an image of it, but the origin of those has changed so many times already i don't even remember most of it. In older iterations of his story he had been experimented on and that's kind of how he got it i think?? his sister thought the experiment was gonna be good for him but it just fucked him up (i know this makes no sense i'm very sorry)
> Loreto: the older out of ALL of my current ocs, the first drawing i made of her was in 2011/2012 i believe, she belonged to another oc universe, looked far different and had another name, but i rescued her for this one because, again, i liked her design. She's around 15 years older than Gav and used to be like the mayor? of a town? She was more of a villain without meaning it really, that's the only backstory thing i remember about her right now, sorry. Also, she's missing half an arm and sometimes uses a mechanical arm as a substitute but it obviously doesn't work the same as a real arm. Gav braids her hair every morning since she can't do it by herself.

I am going to do a top 10 favorite video games list for no particular reason
Hello, hey. So these are games that I've greatly enjoyed past and present and appeal to my particular interests and tastes. I like games to tell stories. I don't mean a written narrative with a beginning, middle and end. What I like is what some would call "emergent storytelling", which is a pretentious name but explains adequately how I enjoy my games to be played. I want to come out of a session of a game with a memorable story to tell, or even just remember to myself.
Anyway, here's the list.
10. Minecraft
Tumblr media
Minecraft is a modern classic and the reason it's low on the list is because I enjoy it in theory way more than I do in practice. It's probably the platonic ideal of a sandbox game, full of interactible objects that can be refined into new items and materials for crafting, building, and generally just doing whatever you feel like.
And that freedom is what I enjoy about it. In the wacky block-world of Minecraft, you're able to do whatever you want. Build structures, focus solely on crafting the biggest sharpest sword ever, or just get a fishing rod and chill.
What I don't like so much is that singleplayer and the vast majority of public multiplayer servers are really bad at using this freedom to its fullest potential. There's so many possible interactions between entities and players and yet the pubs I've visited focus solely on adding artficial structure to the game, which I find uninteresting. If anyone can recommend a good Minecraft server free of unpleasant externalities, drop it on the comments or reblogs please.
9. Dwarf Fortress
Tumblr media
Dwarf Fortress is Minecraft's unhinged grandpa. I believe it has been directly cited as an inspiration for Minecraft way back in the day. It has gained some popularity over the years but I'd wager as lot of people would dismiss it as some nerd game for gatekeeping losers, but there's a genuinely cool core inside it that is the reason everyone likes it so much.
The beating heart of Dwarf Fortress is its world generation. As a traditional roguelike (as in, a game like Rogue), Dwarf Fortress will generate a whole world to your desired specifications not unlike Minecraft. Very unlike Minecraft, however, it will populate the world with factions of historical figures, beasts and other entities and then simulate the history of this realm for as long as you'd like.
This is the part that the brothers Adams, the game's creators, focus the most on, and is the reason the game has earned a spot in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
As a player, you get to influence this world by either controlling a colony of Dwarves, playing as a custom Adventurer and questing about the land, or just reading the Legends entries to find out what has happened in the vast history you created.
The gripes I have with it are that Adventure mode, my favorite part of the game, isn't very deep or fleshed out currently. The game also suffers from a hellish type of maximalism that makes it almost impenetrable without some sort of guidance and in some cases, external software. Still, it is a crowning achievement in game design and development and is one of the best games of all time, no doubt.
8. Fallout New Vegas
Tumblr media
This is a cult classic game developed by Obsidian software under contract for Bethesda. As I understand it, Obsidian included some of the original staff of Black Isle and Interplay who worked on the OG Fallout games, which were isometric turn-based RPGs.
This is the most accessible and faithful Fallout game one can play in current year. The essence of Fallout, for me, has always been a laser focus on the player character. You never get to control your party members, though you can indirectly suggest commands that they will try their best to follow, often unsuccessfully. The game is about the dude or gal you make and play as: you get to customize how they look, what their physical and mental attributes are, and you have minute control over them down to the very words they speak, to the detriment of pretty much everything else.
Complementing that is the setting. West Coast Fallout is the most enthralling setting I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing in any medium, and it's a great playground to put your character designs to the test. You really have to commit to your character and see things from their perspective, and the world is reactive enough to reward you for doing so. OG Fallout and New Vegas are some of the smartest written games in the market and anyone who loves stories should give them a try.
7. PAYDAY 2
Tumblr media
As much as I like stories and emergent gameplay, sometimes I'm in the mood to unwind by listening to some bopping music and clicking on bad men with guns. PAYDAY 2 is a co-op shooter in the vein of Left 4 Dead, only instead of shooting crazed zombies you get to shoot crazed cops.
Despite being co-op, most of my hours on it have been spent solo and I wouldn't have it any other way. The game is full of customization options and progression systems to make the arguably repetitive gameplay loop very addicting, and the shooting and movement mechanics put a lot of games to shame to this very day.
There's no shame in enjoying a good old heist and shootout every now and then. I'm not above that.
6. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly
Tumblr media
Anomaly for me is the perfect STALKER game. In case you are not aware, STALKER is a series revolving around the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, or simply "Zone" for short, in some kind of alternate reality where the incident at Chernobyl was either caused by or resulted in supernatural happenings, known as Anomalies.
As far as I remember, the mainline STALKER games never captured my imagination too much because of their linear progression. STALKER Anomaly remedies this by opening up the world of both Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Skies and levying the complete potential of the A-Life system.
It reminds me a lot of Dwarf Fortress, in that it is a sandbox game with a deep simulation layer and emergent actors going about their day dynamically in a scale as large as could be reasonably expected of video game software. It doesn't fall into the trap that so many survival games do where the survival challenge takes place in an empty lifeless world that is very, very boring. The world of STALKER Anomaly is full of life, conflict, humor and terror.
5. XCOM 2
Tumblr media
I have a complicated relationship with XCOM 2. It's easily my favorite XCOM game due to the sheer level of character customization, from picking how your dudes look to giving them names and bios and then getting to watch them die horribly on the hands of some alien monster. This contrast is very deliberate: the game wants you to get attached to your soldiers to raise the stakes and generate tension.
The strategy is great, with deep combat that is rewarding to learn and a less deep but serviceable micromanaging minigame aboard your base of operations. The thing I don't like about this game is that the high difficulty and the punishing nature of failure make it a very stressful game to play.
When things are going your way, it provides the highest highs. When your squad gets wiped and takes your precious soldiers with it, you're dragged to the lowest lows. It's an intense experience but by no means a boring one.
4. Wildermyth
Tumblr media
Wildermyth is the most slept-on game I've ever seen on the market. The best way I can describe it is it's a fantasy-themed strategy RPG with a choose-your-own-adventure storytelling format, but that description doesn't really do it justice.
Wildermyth greatly rewards imagination and creativity. The main feature of the game is being able to import your custom heroes from previous campaigns into later ones as supporting party members or even main characters. And this isn't some token feature made for you to look at your dudes and say "Yeah that's them". The procedural nature of the storytelling means that your characters can interact. They can cause trouble and build relationships, get wounded and even die, all with explicit acknowledgement from the game.
It's a story generator that doesn't skip on telling the story. The little event popups are well written, with lots of attention to detail and variations depending on the relationships and personalities of the characters involved. It's a game I'd easily recommend to anyone who enjoys creating characters and stories or even just strategy games in general, although admittedly the depth of the combat is a bit on the lighter side.
3. Devil May Cry 3
Tumblr media
DMC3 is the perfect action game. DMC5 comes close but 3 for me clutches it because it's a lot more focused. Over the years the series has added increasing complexity which raised the skill ceiling far above what most people could possibly ever reach. There is exactly one person on Youtube I'm aware of who can be said to have completely mastered these games and watching them play is a sight to behold. Look up donguri if you'd like to see what that looks like.
As for me, I prefer the simplicity of the third game. It doesn't give you so many options that not using them just feels like playing the game wrong, it wants you to get good on your own terms and greatly rewards your investment in mastering its combat. There's nothing quite like playing a game and just feeling how well you're doing, how easily you can breeze through previously hard challenges.
Few games have motivated me to try and completely master them, but DMC3 manages it and does so in a way that's entertaining and fun throughout.
2. Titanfall 2
Tumblr media
Titanfall 2 is the DMC3 of multiplayer shooters. A lot of people dismissed Titanfall back when it first came out and those people are fools. These games are sick.
I know the selling point is piloting big robots but I can't stress enough that for me, that's secondary. It's all about the Pilot gameplay outside of the robot. The movement tech in this game is insane and the difference between how a seasoned player moves around is night and day compared to a new or inexperienced player.
I've seen a lot of people say that the purest skill based multiplayer shooter is Quake. Maybe that's true, but Quake is also a very static experience. Titanfall 2 proves that you can have highly skilled competition without skipping out on customization and self expression.
The satisfaction of mastering a game goes double when you're up against people who have the potential to be just as skilled as you are. It's the whole reason multiplayer games endure despite being sometimes more repetitive than their singleplayer counterparts. Competition is fun and motivates people to get even better and practice their game harder. It's a great feedback loop of deep enjoyment.
1. The Sims 4
Tumblr media
So why would I put what is considered by many the worst Sims game at the top of this list? It's going against some pretty heavyweight games here. Well, hear me out.
I believe this is the pinnacle of life-sim "cozy" games. I never got into Animal Crossing because to me, the characters feel lifeless. The complaining about New Horizons' NPCs always rung a little hollow to me because in my opinion they feel exactly as boring as all the villagers in any other game.
Sims has always been more interesting to me in no small part due to customization of your characters, but also because they interact in ways that are fundamentally more interesting. They can fight, become friends with each other, engage in romances and these relationship stages can seamlessly progress from one to another.
It's like having your own little TV show that you can watch daily. And on top of that, Sims 4 in specific is the most stable version of the game by far.
Going back to Sims 2, it has eccentricities I don't really like. Aging is so fast, and time works in a bizarre way that takes me out of the experience, with only the playable household being able to age. Sims 3 doesn't run well no matter what I do to it, and it's not very friendly to rotational play, which is something I enjoy doing.
Sims 4 is arguably shallower than its counterparts but the fact that it's so frictionless is enough to put it head and shoulders above the rest. The graphics looking very nice doesn't hurt either. I've played it for over 1000 hours and I probably will continue to do so.
It's a very relaxing game that makes me feel at ease, as a very anxious person. I love it and I can't thanks Maxis enough for what they have created.
