The best part of starting Fall Break on a Friday is having to do absolutely nothing for five blissful days. Wonwoo hasn’t even opened his beer, focusing on getting as far ahead as he can.
Hopefully Seungkwan’s meddling takes care of him.
The race track is chaos as you press your character forward, occasionally blown off course by a blue shell moving to knock out whoever is in first. Half way through the course, you chance a glance at the other corners of the TV. Soonyoung and Dokyeom have finally started lap one, only for Soonyoung to fly over the edge at the first turn and wait to be rescued. Wonwoo is caught in the mess at the front of the pack, only able to maintain first for a fraction of a second before being sniped by a shell.
Once you round the third lap, you take your chance. Stopping in a corner of the track to down the rest of your drink, hoping everyone is too engrossed in the events on screen to see you start moving despite still swallowing a mouth full of beer.
This is when you see Wonwoo make his mistake. He pauses right before the finish line, cracking his can open and nearly choking on the large gulps in his haste. When you turn back to the couch you're met with another blinding smile as you drop into his lap.

The Journey to Ba Sing Se Part 2: The Drill
Could I have Appa back please?
The Previously On segment actually didn't spoil anything for once. Nice.
I do like these tank things. In fact I like all Fire Nation technology. Not what it's used for. But the designs are neat. And more interesting than most actual military tech. You ever look at something techy, and think to yourself 'there was an artist involved here,' because that's the impression FN tech gives me. It's not beautiful, but there's a pleasing toothiness to it.
Excellent sound design on the metal screechy moving bits. And is that tank escort really necessary?
I know this is a kids' cartoon, with characters that are designed to be the audience's age. I know! And usually I can suspend my disbelief and forget that I'm watching children do very adult jobs! But this caught me so off guard I laughed. The Fire Nation's big secret project to break through the wall once and for all, that would be an absolute career making achievement for whoever is in charge, and they've given it to a bunch of teenage girls. This is where my suspension of disbelief stops.
Can you imagine the meeting where this was proposed? The Fire Lord being like "Who can lead the attack on Ba Sing Se? We lost Zhao at the North Pole, does whoever it is who occupies his equivalent rank in the Army want the job? Or even Zhao's second in command perhaps? Or how about: three middle school girls, two of which aren't even members of the military? Doesn't that sound like a good plan?" And of course all his advisors have to agree and be like "that sounds like an excellent plan your lordship; did you have any particular girls in mind or should we go scout out the local Claire's?" because the last guy who disagreed with him got his face blown off. I don't care how viciously talented Azula and friends are; a country that puts eighth graders in charge of invasion plans should have lost the war in year one, not still be winning it in year 99.
Did that random commander guy just smack Ty Lee in the face?
Problem the first of this plan: unless the Fire Nation has invented pocket dimensions or bags of holding, there is no way that that drill, even stuffed full of soldiers, would hold enough people to take a city that seemingly contains every single refugee in the entire Earth Kingdom.
Do you think those refugees got preferential treatment for arriving on an Avatar powered elevator?

That's one hell of an irrigation system they must have.

Aang sure does put up with a lot sometimes. Part of being the Avatar. It's a good thing he has such patience. Can we talk about how lucky the world is that Aang is the one tasked with putting up with nonsense like this? Imagine if Sokka or Toph were the Avatar. There would be casualties.
I like complaining too buddy. Nice to see Sokka's worth being recognised. Now can we do that outside of a life or death situation too please?
I joke about Zuko's dumbass behaviour, but let's be honest, it's inherited.
Jet. Fuckboy. You do not make it easy to even slightly like you. Guy is missing the point as much as Zuko usually does. Going straight MEANS leaving the freedom fighters behind. It doesn't mean reforming them somewhere else. And what Fire Nation threat are you going to find in Ba Sing Se for your Freedom Fighters to fight? You know, if this idiot was actually serious about fighting for Freedom rather than blowing stuff up for fun, he'd fudge his age and enlist in the Earth Kingdom Army.

Normally I'd say that one earthbender trying to slow the drill down with spikes will work even worse than the Terra Team who tried and failed with like 40, but this is Toph we're talking about. It could work.
These children are so polite when they're committing industrial sabotage. Truly, they were raised well.
Do you ever get the feeling that whoever is in charge of designing Fire Nation armour is into a few things that he's trying to repress so hard that they're coming out in all the wrong places?
Jet seems to have lost all the manipulative abilities he had in his episode. Suddenly he's very bad at reading body language and keeps saying the exact opposite of what he should.
New achievement unlocked! 1000% agreeing with something Zuko said! That was a pretty stupid move.
Cups made out of leaves are neat.
Katara, you can't have it both ways. You can't look to Sokka to make the plan, then get snippy when the plan correctly plays to all of your strengths. He physically CAN'T bend. Either you come up with a better plan yourself, or you do as the guy you appointed planner suggests.
Points in favour of allowing Katara to murder people, exhibit 1.
Confirmed: Sokka is catnip for girls.
Even in comparison to the others, Ty Lee has a bad case of cartoon physics.

There is no way this is actually practical armour. This is someone in procurement with a thing for sweaty bulging muscles and puppy masks.

I felt Sokka's mud freakout in my bones. Looks like Katara giving away her water isn't going to be a problem.
Petition to let Katara say bitch. The voice actress said Circus Freak but I know what I heard in my heart.
Remember that time Sokka smacked his forehead so many times that his face was permanently red? My turn now.
Aang. I know you love your friends. But maybe a battle on top of a moving machine of destruction in the midst of an aerial assault from your idiotic allies while facing off with the single most powerful and amoral firebender in existence, isn't a place to bring your pet lemur?
Beat up Sokka quota fulfilled by little sister. It's surprising that isn't the case more often. I know Sokka took it too far, but if you don't want him telling you what to do, maybe you shouldn't have looked to him for a plan?
Toph is here! Day saved.
Finally some sense re: Momo safety.
Time for the Western showdown. There's even something that could stand in for a water tower in the background.
If Azula had just struck at Aang the second he got knocked unconscious, rather than waiting until he woke up for dramatic purposes, she would have won this. I give Zuko Hell for being a theatre kid, but he's not the only one in the family.
I would love to know what they make Fire Nation boot soles out of. They have supernatural traction.
I take back everything I said about pet safety. That was a really cool Momo assist.
Aang invents the pneumatic hammer.
I LOVE that the cut braces had an effect after all. Sokka's contribution counts!
I bet this guy's wishing he'd been eaten by a giant fishman like Zhao right about now. Have fun explaining that one to the Firelord!

Final Thoughts
This was like 90% action, with the other 10% being split between Zuko & Iroh plot stuff and Sokka playing comic relief. So there's not that much to talk about here really (she says, having found a whole post's worth of stuff to talk about).
Sokka had his bossy pants on, admittedly because he was asked to don them. Aang got to do some proper Avataring. Katara and Toph got to exercise their bending muscles. I'm not surprised that Toph was absent for much of the middle of the episode, because - let's be honest - given the right tools, Toph would have finished the Drill in one move. And then they'd be out of episode.
Actually, Mai got to have a personality beyond Too Bored To Live this episode. This is probably the most personality I've seen out of her so far. She's much more expressive when she's with just Ty Lee, rather than Ty Lee and Azula.
And Zuko! Had! Common! Sense! Iroh had to be a dumbass for Zuko to shine, but Zuko was, once again, the most reasonable character in his little B plot. For future reference: If you want to make Zuko reasonable, all you have to do is nerf his uncle and juxtapose him with a terrorist.
I loathe Jet. Always have, probably always will. But I'm still disappointed in him. His 'turning over a new leaf' - if it was sincere at all - lasted like 10 on-screen minutes. I feel sorry for Smellerbee and Longshot. I don't think their faith in their glorious leader is going to be repaid. He seems to brush off Smellerbee's opinions.
The strangest thing this episode was how few lines Azula had. I guess maybe they were using silence to try to show how calculating and collected she is compared to others, but honestly my first thought was that the voice actress had something going on. A cold? A previous engagement? It felt really weird to hear her speak so little, since previous episodes have shown she's not averse to gloating and dramatic monologues. She didn't even have much in the way of facial expressions.
I think the winners this episode were Mai, who got to have a personality; Zuko, who got a turn with the brain cell; and Aang, who got to work out pretty much all the bending he knows so far and successfully Avatar.
I did notice with some of the shots of Aang moving the big boulders the idiots were chucking down, that there was a kind of fuzziness to the air between Aang and what he was moving. Was I seeing the actual bending energy (Chi I guess) moving?

Blonney and Bunny Bunny
both characters have a focus on movie or hollywood as a concept, both are also girls around the same age range who know what it's like to be put into very restrictive stereotypes (the blonde bimbo, the southerner). I think they'd get along, and it's very funny to think about Blonney go straight to Bunny Bunny for help if Jessica ever needs help, since Bunny Bunny's family had a farm lmfao

all three of these characters cherish the power of the written word and have used it against injust systems, but I think that Charlie's insecurities would hold her back a lot from truly bonding with Sonetto thru poetry, and The Fool is too much of a revolutionary--his very open and vocal "down with the monarchy, every person in authority is a fucking fool" vibe would clash with Sonetto's obedient dog aspects. Zima, however, feels perfect to act as another poet for Sonetto to befriend and a mentor to slowly introduce her to more open ideologies
SURE hes a recluse and socially inept bc of the years of isolation in exile, BUT HES NOT SHY WHEN IT COMES TO SHARING HIS VIEWS AND THOUGHTS OR WORK. hes the perfect idea of subdued and quiet strength, I rlly think Sonetto could really benefit from having him as a mentor or responsible adult figure

2023 wrapped: kdrama edition!
taking a page from @dangermousie, here's a list of all the kdramas ive watched this year, in order from least liked to most liked! because i dont have a spotify wrap-up to share :'D
cdrama one here!
and i'll do a webtoon one too /o/
overall i didnt watch too many kdramas this year, and finished less. kind of a "meh" kdrama year for me overall (with 1-2 exceptions). with that in mind, full disclosure that i didnt love a ton of what i watched this year in kdramaland:
we barely knew ye: ones i dropped only a few eps in
sweet home 2. dropped after ep 2. direction it went in is v much not my thing, my fave surviving characters were either killed off or put on the bench, and im not that motivated to see what happens next. might jump back into the franchise if word-of-mouth on s3 is good, we'll see
moon in the day. first ep was actually great and i enjoyed it a lot!! but im not doing cancer storylines rn so that killed momentum. may try this one again later
king the land. watched the first ep. simply did not vibe.
death's game. ditto ^
black knight. i LOVE a good dystopian scifi. this was not that. i was really bored after the first ep and didnt bother with the rest
my dearest. i watched the first ep and liked it, but just wasnt in the mood/wasn't immediately hooked. i'm going to give this one another try when i hit the Angsty Sageuk craving again
dramas i watched at least half of
6. twinkling watermelon.
it's pretty wild to put what i believe is the current #1 show on mydramalist as my bottom pick for the year, especially since it's written by my favorite screenwriter, but here we are. this one is far from objectively the worst drama but it's here because it made me the most mad!! the female lead and second male leads were both off-putting and selfish to me, and the whole drama i was actively rooting for ryeoun's earnest and endearing male lead and shin eun soo's underwritten second female lead to escape and have mother/son adventures on their own away from the rest of everyone else
5. arthdal chronicles: sword of aramun.
sigh. i was a big believer/supporter of this season, even with all of the recasts. but despite a few moments of brilliance, it was overall a slog to watch and just kind of joyless. too much time spent on the ago tribe, too many nonsensical victories and deus ex machina coincidences, and the bag was very much fumbled with some of the characters (particularly saya, who was to me the most interesting character in s1 and you KNOW ljk could have rocked that ruthlessness). positive standouts were kim ok bin flawlessly scene-chewing as taealha and lee joon ki working what he was dealt
4. worst of evil.
adored this drama for the first 2/3rds! it was gritty, neo-noir that reminded me a lot of the old school hong kong crime films like infernal affairs. lots of style, great acting, messy and flawed characters. but the last arc/ending was a boring dud for me. still very much enjoyed the ride up to that point though!
3. perfect marriage revenge.
so! much!! fun!!! just. full commitment to making a show as gloriously makjang/soap operay as it could get and it was a blast watching because of it. made on pocket lint for a budget but it rocked what it had and a special shoutout to lee min young's absolutely fantastically camp evil stepmother. the excitement died down a little toward the end, but still a good time overall

a satisfying ending to a really excellent first half. love that the female lead just got to execute revenge and there was no moral or sanctimonious hangups about it. enjoyed the way the ending was set up as "the adventure continues," and all in all this was a really solid and enjoyable dark drama! only thing that was kind of a bummer is that the time split between airing the first and second halves killed the momentum a little, but that's entirely netflix fuckery and not the fault of the show

hands-down the best kdrama i watched this year, and possibly my favorite kdrama ever. i didnt plan to watch this one because im sick of superhero everything, but the cast got me wanting to at least try it and omg im glad i did. great acting from literally everyone, wild action scenes, and just beautiful characters and dynamics across every level. the family narratives are so, so good and the whole show is expertly grounded in the concept of planting seeds so your children can see flowers. please give this one a try if you're on the fence about it!

Favorite ship: juwon and jihee from moving absolutely destroyed me in the like 3 eps they were in, so they win this one. he's a gangster who gets the shit kicked out of him for a living and loves stories with happy endings. she's a weary but always brave sex worker (coded, but still) who decides to trust a lonely man crying in the street. i never thought a motion-sensor light could wreck me the way theirs did. "you have worth to me, and i have worth to you."
Favorite FL: song hye kyo's dong eun in the glory just barely edges out han hyo joo's mihyun in moving. song hye kyo needs to play, like, all the villains and anti-heroes ASAP because that's been the most fun ive had watching her. she took on a dark character and rocked it

What advice would you offer anyone trying to make an AU that is wholly additive like your Sento Saiyans (as opposed to ones that focus on altering events like so many do)? Anything to try and avoid or lean into (e.g your Sento Saiyans lacking a SSJ form and the culture that builds because they all have access to emotion-driven forms in Oozaru)?
**LONG THREAD
First, kinda have half a brain to say "fuck all" to canon. The AU will be a sandbox you craft of your own while "using" canon material as your "non-canon" if that makes sense. I included canon character (Goku, Vegeta, Whis, etc) as chess pieces for the world I craft around them. I myself know this is not canon, not true to any part of Super or the establish status quo. I just have to be mindful of characterizations. I fight the "canon police" on the daily who try and lecture me on "this wouldn't happen" or "why make this because blah blah blah and this happens instead" because I'm practically disrupting all established norms. I just don't give a fuck and decide to do it anyway because it's fun.
Second, I'd have to know more on what direction you're trying to go. Are you trying to make a fan race or anything OC x Canon related? I could better answer with a bit more info.
If it's a fan race, my best suggestion is doing your homework on at least most of the established DBverse so that way you have substance on what you're trying to do and it'd make sense for where it may be inserted in (og DB, Z, GT, or Super). This applies with my earlier statement because you will have people that will want to ask you questions and you'll have to have some consistency or you'll create (too many) plot holes.
Lastly, the reason for me NOT having Sentos inherit super forms naturally is because:
A: I'm kinda tired of the recolors. I love super forms, don't get me wrong, but every Saiyan type does Super Saiyan. I want Sento Saiyans to work like Ikari/Wrathful Broly where he still looked like his base but still has that power buff. The only exception is the Legendary, Orran, where he gets both Oozaru AND the Legendary form.
B: For them it'll be a "deception tactic" where you'll think they look weak visually but they still have that power boost of the super form under the surface. The hair won't change colors but the eyes will. Sentos will learn the super form (properties) and not change into the form itself if that makes sense.
I'm playing a mind-game. "What? Saiyans that can't go SSJ? How does that work? That's what Saiyans do." Nah. That's called creativity. I call it the "Rock Lee" effect. They don't have to rely on being flashy or ki-driven to box. They're different. It's how you create skills and unique abilities that could stand in the same lane as SSJ but on a different branch. It's not to replace the forms, but how to bend them in different directions. Add different ways to utilize forms or transformations.
Sorry this is so long but my goal is to technically break the status quo and start looking at other ways to mold an established factor so that way new things can keep the air fresh and creativity flows freely. Research and think on it. DB is a giant sandbox that a lot of the fanbase tends to box themselves into corners and won't venture out because they believe it's cringe or taboo. There's a lot you can do if you have the mind for it. Toriyama himself can't remember SSJ2 even existed, you'll be fine.

thank you for elaborating because i have 0 idea what coachella is
i cant be bothered to find an individual picture for all of these so heres a reference and i'll just talk about them in order
kiddo fit : was comfy and matched my brother, 6/10. could be more individual and fun, but was sentimental.
new graduate fit: still comfy, unique colour for the uchiha. i think i chose that shade of blue because it made a statement without being....garish. i wanted to separate myself from my brother. short-sleeves because i run pretty hot. 7/10, still basic but more individual.
genin fit: iconic. form, style, and function, as i mentioned in a different ask, the leg and arm warmers worked to hide ninja tools like my strings. 10/10, i think when most people think of me they think of this.
chunin exam fit: this one was a functional outfit. i spent pretty much all that time training in the middle of nowhere with a technique that was dangerous and painful. the bandages and the braces are to help stabilize my arms for the chidori without being a fire hazard like the arm and leg warmers would've been. i also had a lot of burns and sprains that i needed to treat while still training. 5/10, at least it's useful but i'm not proud of the fact that i chose a romper because rock lee wore a jumpsuit.
otogakure fit: another iconic fit. this is actually a combination of function and a fashion statement. the hakama was open because i didnt want to buy new clothes every time i used my curse mark. the obi and the blue cloth help me carry kusanagi while also maintaining the samurai silhouette. to be brief, i represented myself as a samurai because i was single-mindedly dedicated to the honour of my clan. 10/10, perfect.
renegade fit: this is actually my favourite outfit. it was comfortable both in terms of fabric and movement. i like the colours. i think it's attractive and makes me look dangerous. the bandages were necessary but still look cool, and the ones on my forehead make you wonder "is he reclaiming konoha?" 11/10.
akatsuki fit: my hair was a disaster so i kind of wish i had made more use of the hood. at the same time though, i wanted the fear that my face and the akatsuki cloak combined would inspire. 4/10, the only points here really come from the improvement on the cloak. youre welcome obito.
konoha crush pt 2 fit: i...am ambivalent towards this look. it kept me cool and it looked nice. i think the return to the short sleeves was some sort of reclamation of my youth, but it also feels confused and speaks to my mental state. it made me recognizable but still not exactly the same as before. 8/10.
vote 2 fit: i mean...the silhouette changed to something really similar to my brother's clothes under his cloak. the clothes were torn. im glad i wore short sleeves since i ended up losing an arm. 4/10, somehow the result of a lot of effort and no effort at the same time.
from this point on, i didnt actually wear any of these outfits as they are so i'll just comment on what i like and what i actually wore.
10. ronin fit: so i did wear a headband but i wore it under my bangs, but that was because i used a bow often to hunt for food. i think this outfit is ugly and im annoyed at it. 3/10 for the poncho. i did wear a poncho type thing, but i wore it more like the otogakure outfit--folded down around my waist for access to my weapons but easy to pull back over myself for warmth. i wore a long sleeved mesh shirt for compression to help with the phantom pains in my arm, and a shirt and pants that looked like my brother's but in a darker blue. you can imagine something similar to what gaara wore the first time we met him with the asymmetrical visual of a japanese archery uniform. in my mind i was thinking more artemis/ancient greece.
11. interpol fit: i dont hate this but i dont love it. it doesnt really fit for the purposes i wouldve been using it for because it just stands out a lot and looks like a military outfit. 4/10 because it's not ugly, but the form betrays the function. in actuality i wore something similar to the renegade fit, just in more plain colours and a full haori. think a farmer's outfit in tan with black accents and black pants. dark blue haori over everything to keep warm and look plain. i was trying to blend in with civilians.
12. dad fit: i feel like this is something more like what itachi would wear at that age, but i do like it. the cloak seems cumbersome at this point though, i would overheat fast. 7/10. since im nowhere near this age, i'll comment on what i wear these days for missions. it's pretty similar to the renegade fit as well, but the hakama is left fully open and worn more like a vest. in a kendo uniform, you tie up the sleeves but in my case i tie them up to essentially make the hakama sleeveless. i just wear a somewhat loose tank top under that. picture charasuke. on the bottom i wear athletic shorts that i suppose are similar to the ones i wore as a genin but longer and maybe a bit looser. long shin guards and ninja sandals as well, so it looks a bit similar to the bottom of the otogakure era clothing but more kendo than samurai. colours vary but i tend to keep it all black, grey tank top. if im feeling festive then grey shorts, black tank top, blue hakama. i do own an orange tank top thanks to naruto. naruto also made me a necklace with just one pearl on it. it looks both like the full moon but also his sun mark, so it's nice.
around the village i just wear a dark blue haori with sweats and a t-shirt. nothing too interesting because konoha doesnt deserve that from me.

Hiya Ange! Just finished reading the latest TFTDC chapter and it was WONDERFUL. The end of the chapter (no spoilers) mentioned Lily humming and singing a few words and I got to thinking....in this AU set in the 21st century....
Do you have an idea of the characters' music tastes? What muggle music do you think people were smuggling in to play at the Quidditch parties in the 2000s? Do you have a particular song you believe Lily was humming at the end of chapter 8? I'm so curious!
(I know you have the playlist, but wasn't sure if you consider that in-universe music that aligns to their taste or if that's more for you)

Ooh this is such a great question. So the TFTDC playlist is definitely much more my music taste than theirs, I’d say, as it’s songs that get me in the right emotional headspace for whichever bit of the fic I’m writing.
Now, for their music tastes…
Lily: I imagine Lily is pretty classic when it comes to her music tastes, in that she likes the Beatles, and 50s/60s music (Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Aretha Franklin etc) and collects old records. But she also enjoys a good modern pop banger (it is 2019 after all), and I think she’d be a big fan of Florence + the Machine and Lorde. Also, in her early teens she was obsessed with Shania Twain’s album Up! (entirely because I also love that album). At the end of TFTDC 8, I think she was humming Anyone Who Knows What Love Is (Will Understand) by Irma Thomas, both because I’ve been listening to it a lot recently, and because the lyrics are somewhat topical 👀
James: I honestly don’t picture James as a huge music guy? In terms of Muggle music, I think he mainly listened to what Sirius was listening to (lots of rock, both from the 70s and the early 2000s. Sirius would’ve been hugely into Paramore), and then a sporadic scattering of wizarding bands. Oh, I think he also somehow accidentally heard a Carly Rae Jepson song at some point, and she’s his guilty pleasure music, except he doesn’t know how a CD player/stereo/phone works, and thus can’t access it and would never tell Sirius because the mockery would be unending (mainly because Sirius is a bit of a prick, and a ‘music purist’ and doesn’t have the ears to appreciate CRJ 😂).
Spoilers but James and lily’s music taste actually does come up in a future chapter
At Hogwarts, I think it must’ve been mainly wizarding music (which I don’t have enough musical creativity to invent haha), but probably infiltrated every now and then by the most popular songs of the day, and ofc some early Beyoncé, because who doesn’t love Beyoncé. I honestly don’t know a ton about early 2000s UK music, so I can’t give specifics, but I also imagine that they didn’t particularly care what they were listening to, I think that it was mostly wizarding songs that inspired intense fervor.

PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION : Discord please! It's faster and it's easier and it has a lot of extra functionalities for both chatting and roleplay. I don't mind the tumblr DMs but they are very unreliable and more than once I've experienced not being notified that somebody messaged me or vice-versa.
NAME OF MUSE(s) : Itachi, basically. However, on discord I've dabbed a bit at writing Kimimaro, Temari, and Rock Lee mostly for fun with friends. And I suppose I should mention I also write muses in other fandoms? Though the Naruto hyperfixation has been real as of late, but yeah, I also have muses in Star Wars, Fullmetal Alchemist, Resident Evil, and several Final Fantasy games.
BEST EXPERIENCE : I would say it's that moment you look at a reply from your partner and 1) you are in awe at their writing and portrayal and wondering how did you get so lucky to write with someone so talented, and 2) you can't wait to get to replying back, no matter how long the thread may be, and in fact you find yourself having so much fun with it and getting so engaged that you easily write back twice as much.
RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS : Uhhh I would say it's probably to feel that my partner isn't as invested as I am. For example, if we agree to plot but I'm the only one suggesting ideas and coming up with scenarios, and all I get back is short replies or something generic like "I'm okay with anything". Or if we have a ship together (doesn't even have to be a romantic ship) and I'm the only one coming up with headcanons and sharing stuff that reminds me of our muses. By all means, we don't need to talk/ plot/ roleplay every single day! I get very busy myself and sometimes go radio silent. And, as someone who's autistic, trust me that I know very well the feeling of being socially awkward. But roleplay is a partnership and requires mutual investment. If I start feeling like I'm the only one excited about our muses and plots, that's gonna make me feel like I'm annoying you and, in turn, that's gonna be the fastest way to make me withdraw from it.
MUSE PREFERENCES: I have recently confirmed that my muse type is Tall and Handsome and Full of Trauma, and occasionally also full of eye gore. But also I am very drawn to "accidental" heroes, heroes that are heroes not out of a prophecy but because, within their limitations, they choose to do what is right and what is needed. And I am also very drawn to big brother figures?? A lot of my muses seem to end up adopting orphans and/or raising other people's children lmao.
PLOTS OR MEMES : I prefer plotting because, from my self-experience, non-plotted interactions get dropped far too easily (either by myself or by my rp partners). That said, I am also a big fan of letting the muses talk and choose what they want, even if it may go against something previously plotted. And I don't think this is incompatible with memes? I do love memes and they are super good for breaking the ice between people who never wrote together! And also super good to provide new scenarios with which to plot and develop upon.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : I have the tendency to write a lot, so I'd say long replies? Which doesn't mean I'm not interested in short ones! Especially because, sometimes, my brain is too mush to handle the long stuff so it's nice to have short ones to get some writing done. I just find it that, with muses like Itachi who rely heavily on introspection, it really is easy for me to get into it and write a lot more than originally planned.
BEST TIME TO WRITE : Whenever my brain is not dead from work, I guess. As of late, it's been a lot easier for me to write during weekends for this reason. I care a lot about my replies and I don't like to give back half-assed stuff, so really the best time is whenever I can sit down, relax, blast some music, and get to writing.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) : I am definitely a nerd like Tachi and his perfectionism + obsessiveness come from my own. We are also both introverts and we both often occasionally have... trouble to keep a normal conversation going lol. And, honestly, we are both idealists.

anyway, let's get rolling. as with the Riddler, we'll be proceeding chronologically!
Adam West (Batman '66) - 10/10
the sixties Batman series gets a lot of shit for being excellent, and I for one will not stand for it! its biggest crime is, I think, being itself and having a good time; it's stupid and charming and really funny, and I think Adam West is a rock solid foundation on which to build the show. his Bruce is a freak of the unflinching normie, devastatingly upright and pathologically wholesome while also a bit of a skank. I suspect he's too chummy with Republicans and yet I trust him with my life. I could write entire essays about what's going on with this man's masculinity. also worth noting that Batman 1966 is like, easily my second favorite live action Batman movie of all time. I love him, your honor.
Michael Keaton (Batman 1989 and Batman Returns) - 10/10
my BELOVED. for those of you wondering when I said '66 was my second favorite movie YES, Batman Returns is the first! Michael Keaton's Bruce is a grade-A freak of the week and I want to wrap him in a weighted blanket about it to see if that will possibly calm him down. his films are great because he's used sparingly, something that no fucking Batman movie knows how to do anymore, and it makes the screentime he does have so much more effective. his Bruce/Batman contrast is stunning - his Batman is an unblinking stalwart lunatic in a suit so crunchy he can barely move; his Bruce a charmingly inept sad sack in a sexy little sweater. and I can't even start talking about his dynamic with Michelle Pfeiffer's electric Selina Kyle or we'll be here all day. chef's kiss, Mr. Keaton.
Val Kilmer (Batman Forever) - Kiss From a Rose/10
right off the gate I would like to acknowledge that whatever else I may say about him, Val Kilmer has the most kissable mouth of any Batman. look at him! good for you, Mr. Kilmer!
anyway, I'm gonna level with you gamers: I've made absolutely no secret of my distaste for Batman Forever, which I think is genuinely dumber and worse than Batman and Robin. Kilmer's Bruce is serving us almost nothing; he's a stale whole wheat cracker to whom things are incessantly Happening. he's being aggressively propositioned by Nicole Kidman when he's Batman and by Jim Carrey when he's Bruce; Tommy Lee Jones keeps trying to murder him while giving a performance that would seem absurdly over the top if he weren't right next to the aforementioned Carrey; and he's just adopted a poor little 25 year old orphan with some serious attitude problems. everyone in this film is so much at all times, and between that and Joel Schumacher's intensely questionable direction I don't really blame Kilmer for deciding to say fuck it and make Bruce more of a mannequin than a man. I think there are some intriguing glimpses of the Batman that could have been here and there in his role, but he's ultimately done in by being trapped in an unspeakable clusterfuck of a movie.
George Clooney (Batman and Robin) - Bat Credit Card/10
where West's Bruce sidles through life with a veneer of normalcy that seems to be just barely concealing the potential to throw someone out a window at any moment, Clooney's Bruce genuinely seems like he's got his shit together. he actually seems to be reflecting the character arc he's limped through across three previous films and two recast actors, and as a result is so well-adjusted and fatherly that it's almost unsettling. who is this very normal man? why is dressing up like a bat to fight Austrian Mr. Freeze and drag queen Poison Ivy? surely he should be filing his taxes or going to a parent-teacher meeting to discuss his 30 year old son's behavior in class.
Christian Bale (Dark Knight Saga) - 3/10
real talk, friends: I don't remember Bale's performances that well, because I haven't watched one of his Batman movies since the Dark Knight Rises came out in theaters. I do not recall liking the movie, nor having any particularly favorable reaction to Bale at any point in the trilogy. I always felt his strongest performance was "Bruce Wayne being Batman playing idiot billionaire Bruce Wayne," portraying the pretense of Bruce better than he played either a sincere Bruce or Batman. dare I say it, I don't think Christopher Nolan let him be enough of a weirdo. disappointing underutilization of a man who who is extremely willing to be unhinged. three stars.
Ben Affleck (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League) - 10/10
I'm just going to say upfront that Ben Affleck's self-written/produced/directed/starred in Batfamily movie is my pop cultural white whale and I'm going to die mad about it, which should probably give you an indication of where this one is going. Batfleck is so perfect to me. that is my baby baby 40-something year old boy with manic depression and homicidal tendencies. is he going through a bit of a grimdark phase? yes. duh. it happens! but he feels soooo bad about it, and he spends the next movie getting bullied by literally everyone to make up for it. he's just so TIRED. this is a Bruce who's SEEN SOME SHIT. he's canonically lost a Robin; he's a grieving dad! he's broken and he's trying and more than any other Bruce I can see him driving around a minivan full of bastard parkour children. every day I miss him.
Robert Pattinson (Thee Batman 2022) - 10/10
when I heard certified real-life freakboy Robert Pattinson had been cast as my personal favorite fictional freakboy I felt hope about a DC movie announcement for the first time in years. and you know what? it was justified. Pattinson is a very specific take on Bruce Wayne that I definitely don't think works in all settings - a Bruce for all seasons he is not. but within his own miserable, wet little Gotham he can do no wrong. I love this pale, pathetic insomniac. I love that he hates eye contact. I love that he barely seems to willing to eat or sleep. I love how obviously confused he is in his attraction to Zoë Kravitz's Selina. I love that after the film's climax we find him covered in filth and working tirelessly to dig civilians out of rubble, offering comfort where he can. I'm so genuinely excited to see this version of Bruce continue too grow. that's my SON.

Winston Duke (Batman Unburied) - 10/10
Winston Duke's take on Bruce is so profoundly dear to me. like Pattinson I think he's not exactly an archetypal Bruce but what he's serving is perfect for this universe, not least of all because Duke is voice acting his ass off. his Bruce is warmer and more emotionally vulnerable than most - he tells Alfred he loves him! - while maintaining the requisite cocktail of mental illnesses that makes Batman what he is, which makes him a wildly compelling narrator to ride along with. his Batman voice arrives late in the story but is absolutely worth the wait; Duke is bringing something positively primordial to the Bat that makes you understand instantly why the folks of Gotham might assume he's some kind of inhuman monster (something that also plays well with the fact that Duke's Bruce is, presumably, meant to be understood as a Black man, which puts his vigilante activities and difficult relationship with the police in a very different light than any white Bruce's). cannot wait to get more of him when the blessed second season drops and drills holes in my brain; you've all been warned that I will be unhinged at that time.

characterization and relationships in The Aurelian Cycle
a common criticism Fireborne gets is the slow start and how it starts off feeling generic? personally I liked that it opened with the tournament because it immediately established character dynamics and archetypes, which were then played with and even subverted later on
Lee choosing his new family, the Guardians over his surviving relatives made so much sense because we were already shown from the beginning how close he'd become to these people. Annie is narratively the most important person in his life, but Cor, Crissa, even Duck are given a lot of importance. He and Cor are like brothers, so Duck has become a sort of younger brother to him too. I love that Lee mentions becoming close with Cor and Crissa because they were the squadron leaders and had to cooperate often. It's understandable that Annie would be friends with Duck, who is often bullied. Outside of Lee and/or Annie, they have their own interactions as well. Cor and Annie are both protective of Duck and are friends. Annie and Crissa are roommates and get along better than the other girls. Crissa acts like an older sister to Duck because he's her squadron leader. What I'm saying is, all of their relationships with one another are so understandable and organic, none of their interactions feel forced and it gives the story so much heart.
I love, love LOVE the tiny bits of background sprinkled throughout the text about the side characters, among them Lee mentioning Crissa was nervous about being squadron leader, Annie's flashbacks with Duck, Lee and Annie visiting the Sutters often.
Even the minor characters have individual personalities with what little we get from them. Rock is a gentle giant who makes bets with his buddy Lotus, and they're always around each other. Alexa and Deirdre are Those Two Girls who giggle and snicker but are capable dragonriders themselves. Ola is the shy girl who sometimes participates in the fun. Max and Deirdre are together.
And the character who surprised me most: Power. I originally dismissed him to be the one-note bully archetype, but I got curious about his character after Annie defeated him in the tournament and he didn't throw a tantrum or anything (which was what I was expecting). He was an ass, sure, but then he turned out to be more complex than that. He helped Annie with mastering spillovers, which turned out to be the gateway to her ability to summon without a summoner. He genuinely tried to get her to win, and he only got better in the later books. That moment where it was revealed he was adopted was such a jaw-dropper because, like I said, I initially dismissed him to be a flat character (too used to this being a thing in YA) but there were more layers to him than I thought.

J2 Main Panel Phoenixcon 2022
The very first thing that Jared says is "ladies and gentlemen, look at this handsome fella" I can't with how much he loves his husband ❤️
During the Gold panel there was a fan from Surprise, Arizona and during this one Jared brings it up and that he had just learned about this place so the crowd starts telling them some of the more unique names Arizona locations have like Christmas, Nowhere, Why- the boys are confused but amused 😂
Jensen says they're there to answer all of the fan's questions by which he means probably twelve, and I'm mentioning this because I have done enough of these Main panel posts to tell y'all he is correct. On average the boy's main panel consists of 12 to 14 questions.
You know when you throw something against the wall to see what sticks? That's Jared saying 'why' at random times to see what joke lands (cause they were told there's a place called Why in Arizona) and Jensen says he's gonna keep saying it until he gets everyone to laugh to which Jared says that he swears it gets funnier and Jensen goes "it doesn't. but to him it does!" It's cute but also very husband-ish.
Let's get into the questions, first up: Who would they say is better at rock, paper, scissors? Only one way to find out and that is to actually play the game. The first time they both get rock, the second Jensen gets scissors and Jared paper so Jensen wins. x
How did Jensen feel going from a protagonist in spn to an antagonist in The Boys?
Jensen says "what are you talking about? Soldier Boy was a good guy." He forgets who it was, he thinks it might have been Lee Marvin who was asked once a long time ago why he always played bad guys and his response was "I've never played a bad guy in my life". The antagonist is the hero in their own story which is what Soldier Boy is and Homelander is, they don't see themselves as the bad guy they think they're the good guy. In their mind they're right and everybody else is wrong. So, he just tried to follow that path and make Soldier Boy be like 'of course I'm right' and an unapologetic know-it-all, and doing that was a lot of fun. That people say it's always good playing the bad guy but he thinks the reason you're able to have fun with it is because you're doing what your character thinks is right but you know it's not.
The fan had mentioned that they only watched the show so they could see Jensen's season. Jared said he only watched to see Jensen's butt- sir you are so flirty today!
Anyways, Jensen hopes they enjoyed the show, says he's been a fan long before he got the phone call from Kripke. He thinks it's wildly entertaining but also incredibly smart, and to be able to live 15yrs in a world Kripke created and then go and play in another world that he is owning and operating Jensen will forever answer that call.
Fan also says that they're only watching Big Sky for Jensen, and Jared pats Jensen's arm and tells the fan to keep an eye open for the jacket that Jensen is wearing which is when Jensen reveals that he just walked off set with the jacket on Friday. That the wardrobe department is probably wondering where it went, and we'll see him wearing the jacket in the 11th episode. No thoughts, just these two being husbands. okay, maybe some thoughts cause it's such a little thing but the fact that Jared knows where the jacket comes from and the story, and that it's something Jensen's character wears in a future episode it's kinda domestic like of course he knows where Jensen got his jacket, of course, he knows that his husband just walked off with it, of course, he knows little details. x
What is some advice they would give their younger self?
Jared replies that he thinks everything you do in life has a trade-off, there's no such thing as a win-win. For instance, when he was growing up he was very task-oriented, if he had a goal he was gonna reach it and it's great he loves where he is now and he loves meeting people that are passionate about a project that he is passionate about as well but that meant he skipped a lot of stuff he didn't go to homecoming, had to miss prom cause he was doing debate or drama practice. He's proud of it but everything has a trade-off so he would tell his younger self to try to be present in the moment as much as possible and understand that nothing comes for free which sounds like it's bad but it's actually wonderful. And then as you grow up and get married and have kids those friends who aren't married with children and wanna go to parties and stuff you don't see them as much but you have your spouse and then you have kids and you end up seeing a lot of people who your kids are friends with their parents so everything kind of gets set in a certain direction and it's a wonderful part of life you learn a lot about yourself. But he would tell his high school self, or college aged self, to try to remain present as much as he can but it's difficult.
Jensen shares a story about Jared. The first couple of seasons of spn were a big shock to Jared's system. Jensen had already been working in Van and kind of knew the drill so he adjusted a little quicker than Jared did, Jared had a tough time settling into the fact that this was his life now and he was missing his friends in LA and his family in Texas and went to Jensen emotional several times to open up to him about this 🥺😭
And Jensen thinks if Jared could go back to talk to that version of himself he would tell him what he just told the fan which is you're missing what's outside the window right now because you got your head in your hands. And even though his life never went back to that- something they talk about is how they pressed pause in 2005 in LA with their lives and they never pressed unpause their lives just completely changed. They moved to Van, lived there for 15yrs and it set them on a whole different course.
The road is very long, the journey is very long. Don't sweat the small stuff, and you might just be able to take more in than if you keep your eyes shut. x
While working on spn were they offered any other roles they wish they would have taken?
Jared jokes Soldier Boy, then says that's two different answers and that he's gonna let Jensen answer for himself even though he knows his answer. Yes, he was offered other roles, movies, and bits here and there but no, he's not upset that he didn't accept any of them. When you're shooting a tv show you're pretty much busy from July to April so they're like 'hey there are these young guys on a tv show we'd love them in a movie and there are 4 or 5 shooting during the summer that they'd be great for' and he and Jensen did that between seasons 3 and 4, they had two months off due to the writer's strike so they figured it was kind of like a hiatus so they could go ahead and work in the summer. Great time shooting the film, an awful time going from shooting the movie to Van to shoot for another 9 months, so it helped him understand the value of his time and what his time is worth as well as about his own mental health and being able to wind down before running another marathon. So he doesn't regret passing on any other offers.
Jensen says he doesn’t regret not being able to do anything that was a possibility, he does wish he could have made it happen but he's not sad that it didn't; there was definitely a movie he was in talks about and trading e-mails and calls with the director but he wasn't available at the time so the train stopped there but had he been available he would have had to jump through a lot of hoops. He had a really good shot, and it's a movie he really likes so every time he watches it he thinks how fun it would have been to have been a part of that at this point the crowd asks him what movie it was and I wanna know what would have happened if Jared had said no. Because before Jensen reveals what movie he was talking about he turns towards Jared to see if Jared thinks he should say what movie it was, and it's only after Jared says yeah that he reveals that it was Deadpool. Sir, if your husband had said no would you not have shared the name of the movie?
Anyways, he says it was probably a good thing because his ex-girlfriend was on there so it probably would have been awkward. But it would have been cool. x
Do they listen to any Latin songs that make them wanna get up and dance? Daddy Yankee, Selena, Bad Bunny? The question was in English but it may as well have been French with how confused Jensen is; Jared has listened to Selena cause growing up in San Antonio she was on the radio quite a bit, so he has heard El Chico del Apartamento 512 more times than he can count. Says Daddy Yankee is badass, Luis Fonsi- you know them from Despacito don't you mi amor?
Jensen is still kind of confused and struggling to think of a song, Jared mentions Despacito...Jensen says that's Justin Bieber. *takes a deep breath* Jensen I love you but if you had said that in front of my Puerto Rican ass you would have discovered the power of la chancla. Despacito existed and was a hit before JB's pasty ass was ever put in the remix.
He can't resist cranking up La Bamba when it comes on the radio, he got to work with Lou Diamond Phillips and he thinks he's awesome and did an amazing job in the Ritchie Valens role. Jared mentions Feliz Navidad, and Jensen says that he knows for a fact Jared loves Livin' La Vida Loca. x
They ask the fan if they have any recommendations and she says Daddy Yankee. I somehow can't imagine these men listening to reguetón. But if they ever decide to check out Bad Bunny, I highly encourage watching his music video for his song El Apagón. And actually y'all should go watch that too, I'll even provide a link, put on closed captioning if needed. El Apagón.
Who is their favorite person in the entire cast to work with? Jensen says it would be hard to pick one, that there was a reason the show lasted as long as it did and it's because he was clearly Jared's favorite 😆 Then jokes his favorite was Rob Benedict.
Jared answers that obviously he and Jensen saw so much of each other over 15yrs that if they didn't greatly enjoy working together they wouldn't be there right now but that it was very fun to meet his now wife, and mother of his kids on set. And if she happens to watch a youtube video of this question and he doesn't say her, he's gonna be in deep trouble, sleeping outside at which Jensen goes 'oh, yeah sister Jo'. Do I even have to say it at this point? 🤨
What do they do to keep their friendship close?
Jensen says you're looking at it. Jared jokes avoid each other as much as possible.
Jared says one of the things he has learned now as a 40yr old husband and father who has met a lot of people is that when you're really close to somebody you don't have to call each other every day. His brother who is one of his best friends lives 10 minutes away, they'll go 6 weeks without texting each other but when they see each other it's like no time has passed. He thinks with friends that you go through a lot with you can pick up where you left off. They both have three kids of their own, and Jensen is in a different state currently but when they get the chance to get together and download it's kinda like 'see ya when i see ya'. He knows Jensen has his back and vice versa.
Jensen says when you spend as much time together as they have, you cover a lot of topics and subjects and know where each other stands on just about everything so there are long stretches where they aren't getting face time and it's like 'bro, I have so much to tell you!' And he thinks it will always be like that, it's just easy. And in fact, it's like that with the rest of the cast, they all have lives, and different jobs but when they come together to do cons it's like getting the band back together. Or, he and Jared will just wave at each other at drop-off.
Jared thinks it goes back to what they were saying earlier about being present, he's always felt this way about himself and he sees it with Jensen as well the thing that Jensen mentioned in the Gold panel about how to be an actor when they call action nothing else can exist, you have to be present you can't be thinking about the bill you forgot to pay, you have to be there at the moment and that's how they live their life. So it never feels like ' man, why didn't he call me?' it's like 'oh I know what he would have said if I said hey I have this problem'. So he knows what Jensen would say so when he's with him he doesn't have to talk about dumb shit. They can call each other whenever and they have and will continue but they also know how busy each other is.
Jensen adds this is also something they're very used to, they've lived pretty much their entire adult life being out on the road being away from loved ones, having long distances between a lot of the relationships whether family, friends, girlfriends, spouse. So, it's something that they're very familiar with, it's very normal for them to go long stretches without seeing someone they hold so dear. But at the same time it's like Jared said, right now he's right there; that his wife and kids are at a monster truck rally and he'd love to be there but he's not because he's loving being there at the con. And that's just what it is, they've got no problem with it, he's got no problem with it, that's just their lives, their normal. x
Now y'all know I got thoughts! I find the progression of their answer so interesting, it's like seeing the door turn to glass but being left translucent. They start off by trying to make it sound like they don't see each other that much because they're really busy and they don't feel like they gotta contact each other about the small stuff but on two separate, recent, occasions they indicated differently. When Jared was on the GG podcast he mentioned he had been texting Jensen about an app Jensen knew about that would let Jared stream tv in his trailer. And during an interview, Jensen said he and Jared talk quite a bit and that producing has opened up a whole other part of their lives and given them a whole new set of topics to talk about and spitball with each other. And of course, there's Jensen's mention of the school drop-off, the kids go to school together, both these men have talked about going to parent teacher-meetings.
So they're obviously trying to downplay things. And then! Then Mr. Ackles decides to point out one little thing, and this is when the door turns translucent, he points out that they're used to having to be away from loved ones, and having to go long stretches of time from someone they hold so dear. And when talking about long distances between relationships after mentioning family and friends he pauses and then stumbles to girlfriend and spouse. Interesting he would say girlfriend and spouse instead of just saying wife or just saying spouse, makes one wonder what word his brain was throwing at him when he paused....perhaps one that starts with h and ends with d 🤔
In conclusion/read between the lines translation: they love each other but they know their chosen career means they can't see each other every day, and that's okay they know they each have work responsibilities it sucks but it's also normal for them to have to go through long periods of time apart, and they both accept that. they keep in contact as much as they can with their schedules and when they get the opportunity to be together in person they are 100% present in the moment, enjoying it, and loving it. It's all very healthy, committed, secure, long-term relationship ❤️
Continuing on, what’s the best time of year to go visit Austin? Both boys answer either Fall or Spring. Summer gets really hot, and Winter can be hit or miss. So, October/November or April/May, maybe even March.
I just have to say that Winter in Central Texas is only hit or miss if you don't suffer from pollen allergies because if you do it's a miss. Because they have a bunch of cedar and juniper trees and those little bastards release their pollen in Winter so if you have pollen allergies get ready to not be able to breathe and have your ass kicked by Cedar Fever. Sincerely, someone who had their ass kicked by Cedar Fever. x
Is there a story arc that they were disappointed got cut off?
Jensen says they were actually quite a lot, his top two are Michael, he wishes he could have played that a little longer, and Purgatory.
Jared says he would have liked to see more of Sam as a father but they didn't have a lot of time left in the episode. He had a fun time when Sam is realizing that he has powers and so do others that's something he really liked a lot, he loved playing Gadreel but that's something he got to do for a while, and he too wishes we had seen more Michael.
Then the boys get all confused because Jensen thinks Jared didn't know that he'd be playing Gadreel from the very beginning but Jared tells him he did, but Jensen is still confused and Jared's like "Jared knew, Sam didn't, you did" then he pauses cause he's getting confused too; then Jensen starts wondering if he's mixing up what happened in the show for reality then Jared tells him that what they didn't know was Gadreel/Ezekiel's motivations or why he was an angel on the run but he knew he was playing an angel and so Jensen's like 'maybe that's it'. Then he says he missed his nap 😂
Then Jared starts to say that Tahmoh played Gadreel before he did but a fan tells him it was the other way around that Tahmoh had to watch Jared's reel to play it but Jared remembers Tahmoh on set watching him but Tahmoh always tells the story that he had to base his performance off of what Jared had done. Jared says he'll have to verify cause now he's curious. Then he says that storyline was a lot of fun and starts to say it was s12 and the fan says 9. Jensen is just confused and says he doesn't remember shit, to which Jared says Jensen needs his nap. Jensen starts to joke around that he's grumpy and he's tired- and Jared jumps in to say "and handsome" 😂
If they could do an spn movie what characters would they like to see come back or what story would they like to tell?
Jared says there are so many stories they could tell, and hopefully will, and there are a lot of characters they'd like to see come back. Charlie, Garth, Ash, Alistair- Jensen says he would like to go toe to toe with Alistair again, that he was awesome. x
The next fan brings up the s1 spn commercials and how incestuous they were 💀 They don't actually say they were incestuous what they say is that they look at those commercials now and are like "why is it sexual? isn't it brothers?" The best part about it is the boy's reactions, especially Jensen's, cause they're just nodding and laughing like "yeah 😏"
Anyways, the question is for Jensen and it's basically what are the twins up to cause they're very rarely posted. Jensen says that he and Jared have talked about this since they both have 3 kids- and Jared goes "I didn't do two at once though" to which Jensen replies "listen, I didn't plan it!". He continues, saying, that he was good after one. That they made the perfect one, why risk again, why roll the dice. Then D told him she wanted 4 or 5, and his reaction to that was that she better find someone else to help her there but after a tedious negotiation - his words not mine! - he agreed to one more, just one more that's it and then two came out. Sir, of all the ways you could have worded this. These men have made comments like this before, they haven't really bothered to make it a secret that the last kiddos were not in the original plans but it's been a while since one of them has been so emphatic about it.
It continues, he says the kids will ask him all the time who his favorite is and he tells them JJ but that he's able to get away with saying that because he tells them it's because he's known her longer. That doesn't make it better, buddy. Then, when he says that, Arrow usually goes and draws him something very mean like him falling down a well. But that the twins are amazing, and they've been waiting till they got a little older to put things out but also he has pictures or little videos that he thinks he'd like to share but then the parent part of him is like "don't put too much of your kids out there, reserve some of that stuff for yourself" so he holds off and tries to keep some of those memories his. I'm not gonna say a word.
Jared decides to share that his favorite is O but it's because she's had the least time to piss him off. To which Jensen pitches in that knowing O he's pretty sure she's pissed him off more than the boys combined. Also, O and Zeppelin are in the same class, they (the school) were smart to separate Arrow and O cause the world ends when those two unite. x
If they could have their character sit down with their kids what would they hope Sam and Dean would teach them? Jensen answers mechanics. Cars these days are not really mechanically friendly to people who wanna tinker, they're mostly computers so it's a good thing he does have a 1967 Chevy Impala, he wishes Dean would come and teach him what he's looking at; Jared says all 3 of his kids are starting to learn to read or read better, and he heard a great quote the other day that he loved and had never heard before about the importance of getting kids reading: "at some point in your life you're learning to read from then on you're reading to learn". When everyone was at home stuck during the pandemic he was still traveling it was just in the pages of a book, he was still learning and meeting new people so he'd be like Sammy go put 'em in a library and just teach them how to read better.
Jensen then asks Jared what would he want Dean to teach his kids? Jared jokes and says that he would warn Dean to stay away from O. Then he says that his brother and he have this, Jensen and he have this, Sam and Dean have this and that's the shared loyalty and sacrifice. He starts to say "our boys" then corrects himself to "my boys", yeah I heard that slip, Jared.
Continuing, they're 8 and 10 and go between being best of friends to mortal enemies and he was the same with his brother but growing up, and like someone had asked earlier what they would say to their younger self, to nurture those relationships and friendships, and some people are close with their family and others aren't so close with their blood family but they have found family meanwhile they'll talk to the boys when they get in small arguments and let them know how lucky they are that they have a built-in best friend. Nurture that, go play, go get in trouble together, and have each other's back, and that's something Dean had in spades.
He asks Jensen in turn what would he have Sam teach his kids? Diet. Jensen can't get his kids to eat vegetables. For Halloween, he and Jared did the switch witch so the kids got to pick 10 pieces of candy, two per day, and then the rest of the candy would be left out by the front door and then the next morning there would be some toys. x
Last question! Are Jensen and Steve thinking about going out on tour or doing more concerts? Jensen doesn't know. They are wrapping up the third album they're hoping it'll be out by the end of the year, maybe in January, but he doesn't know if they'll do other shows. They don't currently have any plans to but sometimes after you get one under your belt it's hard to stop there so he's hopeful they'll do more shows. x

Hi! Sorry for the late reply, i started to write my answer and completely forgot about it. It's been in my drafts for months, i feel so bad omg! 😭 It was also really difficult to choose and i have only two female characters i am truly ashamed... But thank you very much for this ask, it was fun!
Here's my top 10! 😊
1. Mob/Kageyama Shigeo (Mob Psycho 100 - Anime)
I love him so much! I think he has the most wonderful character development in any anime i've watched! He has such a pure soul and compared to other shonen MCs, he just wants to be a normal teenager and be happy. So much growth and strength with this character, i love it! The series finale was incredible and I was so happy for my boy🥹
2. Megumi Fushiguro (Jujutsu Kaisen - Anime)
I think he's an interesting character with so much potential for the future. I love the way he always appears reserved and cold but he's actually a softie on the inside and how his own sense of justice contrasts with Yuji. He's just a pretty cool character and stronger than he appears to be and he cares so much about his friends. Haven't read the manga but currently watching season 2 so I'm excited about what's in store for him!
3. Dream of the Endless (The Sandman - TV)
New favorite character alert!! Not a surprise 'cause my favorites are always the cold and broody ones tbh I just love how Dream is so imperfect and still learning and his whole vibe, the long black coat and the emo hair like he's in a indie rock band is just chef's kiss! Incredible character on the show, so charismatic and mesmerizing.
4. Five (The Umbrella Academy - TV)
At this point, there's a pattern here. Maybe it's because i'm an INTJ myself, but Five seems like he's very INTJ to me. It's just the whole attitude and the way he calculates and plans everything, very rational and precise, sarcastic and (though pretty mean sometimes), exactly how i like my characters! All his scenes are top tier and his power is very cool (not explored enough on the show unfortunately.)
5. Minho (The Maze Runner - Book series)
The sarcastic character? Asian as main? Hell yes! Finally more Asian representation and not stereotyped! The book series would have not been as good without him! I was pretty gutted when he was barely there in the Death Cure movie, but Ki Hong Lee was so great as Minho, he perfectly captured his smug and smartass attitude that I fell in love with. He's also very courageous and loyal to his friends which I love too. Overall a very cool character!
6. Deadpool/ Wade Wilson (Deadpool - Comics/Movies)
Deadpool is just Deadpool... Bro he's just vibing killing people or whatever. He's completely unhinged, crazy, over the top and just a fun ride. Pansexual king! What else can I say, he's just one of my favorite comic book characters ❤️
7. Miles Morales (Spiderman - Comics/Movies)
Another comic book character in my list. Miles is a cool addition to the Spiderverse and the movies they made are just INCREDIBLE! The animation, everything is top notch. Also Miles is very relatable and has an intesresting development. You get attached to him quickly and he's just so lovable, idk he's my son, i stan.
8. Stiles Stilinski (Teen Wolf - TV)
Honestly asfghjkl!! I've always loved this character, more so when i was a teenager watching Teen Wolf. Looking back now, the show was not that good but at the time I was pretty obsessed. Stiles was everything i loved about a character: funny, sarcastic, entertaining, likable... He made the show a lot better and kept me watching! He's low on this list only because i'm not into Teen Wolf as much as i was back in the day.
9. Sana Bakkoush (Skam - TV)
She's so cool?? I wish i had been like that when i was a teenager, well for the most part lol. I really like her unbothered attitude and her snarky comments. She is fierce, not afraid to say what she thinks and is loyal to her friends and trustworthy. She's a teenager who has still a lot to learn but she's already wise for her age and just a good character overall. I really like female characters who are confident and charismatic! Her season wasn't perfect, but for me she was the best character in the whole series 😊
10. Sidney Adamu (The Bear - TV)
She's last on the list mostly because she's a new favorite, but she's very cool. I can relate to her, she's fresh and real, she knows her worth, she's courageous, hard-working and just very lovable as a character! Sydney captivated me from the beginning and her scenes were always my favorites. Haven't finished season 2 yet but I can't wait to see where her character goes! ✨

rise & shine was written purely out of spite and 1000000% towards summer bc she was being a little shit and I was feeling evil.
exhibit A:
once summer told me she thought george was the meanest, I went with sap with the lee bc I hc both of them with horribly sensitive thighs, so it was always gonna be between snf since the target spot I had in mind....was thighs (gee I wonder why???????)
after that I kind of blacked out and wrote it. It was done pretty quickly, like I've mentioned before I'm way more motivated to finish something when it's targeted at someone else! (: it's just more fun and it doesn't really feel like I'm pressured to finish it or anything bc I want to sooooo bad anyways! and like I did with my other fics targeted at summer (yes there are multiple! :D) I just included things I knew got to her, and bam, good reactions!

okay......round one. okay. look. this was also for lee!george week, and it was born bc I NEEDED to do an intense tk day. it's just my branding, I needed them to destroy poor lil georgie ):
it's a litttttttttle bit self indulgent Im not gonna lie. a lot of what was written was from possibly personal experience, and I really just tried to write a lot of what I thought would be super intense tks for george (I also added in lil digs at someone but I will not be naming who <3)
I wanted to explore things that I hadn't publicly posted yet, like oil and some specific tools. I actually had a lot more plans for this fic, a lot more spots and tools and techniques, but I was running out of time, and left it off so I could revisit it as a sequel (which I absolutely am, I already have some plans written out)
but uh....mostly this one was self indulgent. I can't even lie about it, it was definitely written for me (and a few other people) more than anything 🫠

sap is so tiny and small and a baby panda, and normally I love when people are sweet to him, but I just needed him to get his shit absolutely ROCKED in this, I have no explanation really, just that my brain went insane and I made dnf do what I wanna do to him :3

Top Gun Second Gen and Their Go-To Karaoke Songs
author's note: listen, I'm currently working on Fanboy x Reader and Coyote x Reader pieces, but I couldn't help but do this. Feel free to add your own song ideas ;)

It's very clear that Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw's go-to song is Jerry Lee Lewis' Great Balls of Fire. But he saves that song for the most special occasions--wouldn't want to overplay the song he cherishes most.
At the end of the day, his karaoke repertoire reflects his retro soul. Rock, jazz, and blues run through his veins and he's more of a lover than he is a fighter, which is why Frankie Valli's Can't Take My Eyes off You, Frank Sinatra's Fly Me To The Moon, Queen's Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and Roy Orbinson's Oh, Pretty Woman are some of his favourite karaoke songs.
All-American classics are Jake "Hangman" Seresin's wheelhouse. He's almost always one of the first to get on stage and take the mic. If he's going to perform, he might as well set the bar for folks. And you better believe he's the type of person to command the stage, taking the mic off its stand the second he can.
Being the man of the people, his absolute go-to song is Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. Don McLean's American Pie, the Eagles' Hotel California, Journey's Don't Stop Believin', and Steppenwolf's Born to Be Wild are his back-ups.
Natasha "Phoenix" Trace is the person to go to for up-beat karaoke vibes. Wait until the liquid courage sets in and she'll unleash her inner disco, country, pop diva. She'll always get everyone up, singing, and dancing. And she's definitely got moves of her own.
ABBA's Dancing Queen, Carrie Underwood's Before He Cheats, Spice Girls' Wannabe, Shania Twain's Man! I Feel Like A Woman!, and Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun are amongst her favourites.
Robert "Bob" Floyd sticks to the karaoke classics. It takes a lot of convincing to get him on the mic and it'll usually take him until the chorus to loosen up. But my goodness, when he does, everyone is left with goofy grins on their faces.
Sweet, wholesome Bob only sings sweet, wholesome songs. He has a rotation of songs including Glen Campbell's Rhinestone Cowboy, Elton John's Rocket Man, the Monkees' I'm a Believer, and Electric Light Orchestra's Mr. Blue Sky.
You'll catch him on stage holding the mic with both hands, doing his signature side step move with an occasional head bob--pun not intended but so welcome.
Hero by Mariah Carey is Javy "Coyote" Machado's favourite karaoke song. You cannot convince me otherwise. While he isn't the most skilled singer, he puts on a hell of a production. Because if he's going to sing, then by God, he's going to sing.
And if he's not singing Hero, though, he'll choose a different power ballad. Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing, Jennifer Holliday's And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going, and Céline Dion's It's All Coming Back to Me Now are some of his back-up songs.
Each time he walks up to the mic, he'll half-jokingly, but very seriously preface his performance with, "I'm gunna slow it down for you now." Needless to say, he brings the house down every time.
I mean, come on. The man's call sign is Fanboy for goodness sake. He wears it proudly. Mickey Garcia is a big believer that you can't turn a room like you can with boybands' greatest hits. Backstreet Boys' I Want It That Way, *NSYNC's It's Gonna Be Me, and Boyz II Men's End of the Road (monologues and all) are some of his favourite pleasures that he's absolutely not guilty about.
He's also not shy about honouring his Latino identity with songs like J Balvin's Mi Gente, Enrique Iglesias' Bailamos, Bad Bunny's Yo Perreo Sola, and Shakira's Whenever, Wherever.
Any song he choses, he's singing his heart out and giving it his all. He wouldn't have it any other way. The man low-key has pipes, but he'd rather spend his time on the mic playing it off for laughs than actually showcasing his talent.
You can't tell me that Reuben "Payback" Fitch isn't the life of the party. The man makes it his mission to make any function interesting. Like come on, proposing the 200 push-up punishment during TOPGUN training? If he's going to do anything, it better entertain him.
He's much less strict about his karaoke songs, and probably has the most diverse repertoire out of everyone. House of Pain's Jump Around, TOTO's Africa, Marvin Gaye's Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Lou Bega's Mambo No. 5, Outcast's Hey Ya!, Blackstreet's No Diggity, Gnarls Barkley's Crazy.
Everyone knows his taste is impeccable and it's always exciting when he walks up to the mic. You never know what you get, other than the guarantee that the party will turn up to eleven.
