Not sure if I have any inflammatory opinions of my own but I have seen a consistent fandom trend of making the girls the "responsible ones" in whatever team/duo they're in. Like making Blaze responsible when she's with Silver or making Rouge the responsible one in Team Dark. Give me your opinion on that

(ok i know this is about blaze and rouge and i will get to them but i also talk about sally here. sorry. im a one track mind)

i think some of it is an extension of canon and some is fandom making canon worse. in terms of making characters responsible, gender aside, it will always make some sense for some characters to be more responsible than the others, especially in a show about team dynamics or conflict or combat. leader characters are very normal. and if you really need a braincell character, thats fine, and it probably SHOULD be the leader. and it should make sense for their overall role and function in the story; if they suddenly become the braincell holder when it doesn't fit them, its just going to come across as forced -- and sexist, if theyre a girl, and especially if theyre the only girl on the team.

that being said, in action series like sonic, this is often caused by canon writers and character creators being afraid to put girls in combat situations.

if youre afraid of giving girls a combat role, of course you'll make her the delegator and the one who simply does things from afar. maybe you'll give her some tech prowess. anything that doesn't involve that difficult question of "can i conceivably write her winning a fight against a guy? will that anger people who think its wrong to hit girls? will i anger people who think girls cant win fights? will i anger people who think its unladylike and setting a bad example for girls? will it anger people who feel emasculated by girls in combat?" -- this is also why a lot of women are given marksman roles because it lets them be useful in combat without actually using physical strength.

this is actually why i think bunnie is a brilliant character btw because she got to be a powerhouse and no one really had to question why -- she has a robot suit, you dont have to wonder if the writers cared about any of those questions i mentioned earlier. duh she can win fights, shes part robot, next question.

this is also probably why amy is given a hammer; she's the only of the core 4 with a weapon. writers tend to give girls in combat a weapon or something to give them a leg up. and i think its often fine, but it is a pattern to take note of, and kind of gets at the heart of many writers' worries.

anyways when writers in action series are worried about writing girls and having them in combat, they tend to 1) give them weapons (or other plausible excuses for their strength and abilities, like bunnie's robot parts), or 2) remove them from the action altogether and have them lead from afar. sometimes they try to make 2 less obvious by making them occasionally capable at fighting off people in a 1-1 fight, but overall they are not the powerhouses, they're the brains.

also, for number 2, i think this is part of why so many girls became the leader in many recent series -- because it helps them meet their 'girl character' quota without automatically just making them a damsel in distress girl character. (though admittedly that still often happens, on both fronts.) -- and it also doesnt have to involve them in combat.

so its not always a case of, girls wrangling boys is inherently boring and problematic, and often complaints of this dont fully understand the greater issue. the leader always wrangles their irresponsible teammates -- but its just recently that girls have been pigeonholed into the noncombatant-leader trope. i would argue it becomes girls wrangling boys if you have a girl character who IS written as extremely physically capable and canonly has fun, but they constantly have to curtail the boys' shenanigans. to be honest, this applies pretty strongly to boom!amy imo, but in other fandoms, i see it extremely often with characters like cassie sandsmark from the original young justice comic series (no, not the TV show). stuff like that. a girl who originally has fun and enjoys shenanigans just as much as the guys, but suddenly has to wrangle them instead in a reboot because she has to be ladylike- er, sorry, a 'leader'.

if someone is forever labeled as the leader -- it makes sense for them to be strict. regardless of gender, that's their personality, and we've seen plenty of take-no-shit male leads like this that dont get called boring, or at least dont have their gender called into question. the actual 'girl wrangling boys' criticism im referring to is when they take a girl where that is NOT her personality, and suddenly it becomes her personality for no reason other than that shes a girl. to me, thats the issue.

girls are written like we're automatically the pinnacle of compassion and level headedness and we don't have fun, and instead focus on everyone's feelings. and in small doses, whatever, fine. but when that's constant and amplified by fandom spaces, when they take a girl who DOES have fun on adventures but suddenly she's just sucking the air out of the room? boring. no thank you. thats actually why i dont like boom!amy much. because amy in general was often written to be immature and to get into shenanigans while chasing after sonic. (her set of sexist writing issues could be their own separate post, but she at least was allowed to be imperfect and irresponsible, even if that was often very poorly done)

but overall i think if you solve the root of the problem it helps. just make more female combat characters. let them fight, with weapons or not, and then your series no longer falls into the 'there's only one girl and she has to wrangle all her boy friends because shes the girl and thats her job' category. suddenly it can be 'girl leader is exasperated that every single one of her teammates is dumb as shit, including the other girls on her team who are allowed to have more fun than the leader is allowed to have' -- ya feel? this is why i liked parts of archie, because both bunnie AND amy were regularly part of combat. sally being a comms delegator wasnt a big deal because, well, there were already girls in the thick of it, why would i mind that a different girl was leading things from an observation point where she could organize their strategy on the fly? thats just what a leader does in a series like this.

for blaze specifically, she can be in combat so that's helpful, and shes a princess so it makes sense for her to be responsible. her arc was also being able to have more fun with friends, so as long as she's allowed to actually do fun stuff in the future, i think that's great -- so fandom writers should be more focused on her character arc. if they write her as boring and fun-sucking, then theyre actually regressing her character.

for rouge, being a secret agent and thief is her whole ass job, she knows when to be serious and responsible bc she's an independent contractor. but she should also be able to get into her own shenanigans because shes a kleptomaniac and deserves way more heists and funny mishaps along the way (the murder of sonic the hedgehog rly delivered on this one, tbh). if they write rouge with the only braincell, they should be pretty careful, since rouge is usually causing knuckles's shenanigans in canon. or if youre a team dark fan, be careful since shadow's not really one for fun shenanigans anyways, and omega is -- well. if anyone DOESNT have the braincell its omega but i dont think rouge does more than point his ammo in the right direction if that makes sense. rouge likes the chaos but she organizes it in a way that'll favor her.

((Post chloleka confession and reveal) Hypothetical situation that i wrote cause im bored.)

Tigress hurried along rooftops away from her girlfriend and toward the emergency meeting called by Rena Rouge (still dont know how to spell it). Usually they were called because a permanent hero would be absent for a few days to reduce worry and allow them to plan ahead. She knew this one was different because not only was she the last one there, everyone was sitting in a pre-planned semi circle. Even her brother was somehow there before her and she knew he was twice the distance to the rendezvous point. She sent a quick text to her brother that was just question marks and then one to her girlfriend saying she was there. They told her to sit opposite of the group as they all faced her, some with worry others confusion. Her brother had his unmistakable shit eating grin as he silently replied to her msg with 'they know'. Tigress tried to hide her her panic and reply with 'know what?'. Before Viperion could reply Rena stood up.

"So I'm assuming, we've all seen the LadyBlog?"

Tigress had not seen the Ladyblog, and became very worried when she shot a glance at her messages and the Hen rapidly replied: 'Sounds good!' 'holly shit' 'babe' 'check the ladyblog' 'fuckit' 'im omw' 'as hen' 'dont say anything'

"Um..." Someone was about to say they hadn't by was shot a glare by Rena.

"Tigress?" Rena switch from sour to sweet in an instant. "Have you seen the Ladyblog?"

"Uh," both Chat and Viperion were hiding laughs in their palms while Carapace holds Ladybug's shoulder to keep her from intervening. "I have not."

"Allow me to show you." Rena grabbed her flute and pulled up an image, glancing between the image and tigress like she was double checking something. She turned her flute around and there was an image of Tigress kissing the Hen in an alleyway. It was a split second occurrence in the middle of a chase, a literal peck as she remembered it. How did someone get a picture of the actual kiss? Yeah they stared at each other for multiple seconds before and after, but the actual kiss happened so fast she wasn't sure if they were still being chased. "Care to explain?"

"Ummmmm..." She looked around at her teamate and friends for assistance. Some shrugged, Viperion muffled even more laughter, and Chat looked like he was going through a crisis. "Photoshop?"

"See, I thought that too, so I ran it through some programs." Ladybug really looked like she wanted to intervene but Carapace held his grasp. "Its legit."

"Um, oops?"

"Yep, big oops" Rena returned the flute to its sheath. "Now, Ladybug thinks, maybe, possibly, even a tad bit likely that you are a liability."

"Oh." It was Chat's turn to hold back Ladybug as Carapace stopped Viperion from stepping in.

"Now, we've been working together for so long that I trust you to give an honest answer.-"

"I will."

"Okay, do you know the Hen's true identity?"

"No." She said with as much confidence as she could summon, y'know, like a liar.

"Does the Hen know your true identity?"

"No."

"Are you and the Hen romantically involved?"

Before she could answer multiple fireworks went up behind the group, distracting them enough for the Hen to run through and grab Tigress without conflict.

"I'd love to stay and chat,-" she spoke fast, glancing at the conflicted cat hero and smiling at her own pun. "-But I've got a crime to commit."

Quickly everyone looked around to see if this was planned. No one knew so they all chased after the villain. "I guess thats a yes." Carapace nodded to his girlfriend before following their teammates.

(The entire time the conversation happened, Chat is trying to figure something out. He starts off laughing because of the situation but then he remembers tigress is Juleka and Juleka is dating Chloe so holy crap, Juleka is cheating on chloe as tigress with the hen. And then he thinks about how smart and confident Chloe is so she had to know that Juleka was 'unfaithful'. So why were they still dating? He comes to the conclusion that chloe and Juleka were secretly in an open relationship and the hen was also dating juleka. And then a thought occurs, just as the blonde villain runs off, 'what if Chloe is the Hen?' (I typed juleka so many times not im not even sure if im spelling it right anymore))

Holy shit i love it!!!!!

Oh and I love a lot that chloe used fireworks.

By the way ladybug is very lucky she hadn't tried to retrive the miraculous from juleka while chloe qas able to see. That would have triggered her pretty badly.

Oh and honestly adrien is smart but he is goofy so I think he will belive the open relationship theory more(also he would probably be in denial too, since even if they play a lot, THE HEN is still his enemy)

I feel so bad for our main three... Sonic is gonna be locked in his Gaia form for a long time, Shadow is gonna be stressing about the details, and poor little Chip is gonna be pushing himself to do all that he can to keep the team intact. I don't know if Tails is coming along for the ride, which he probably isn't, but if he is I really wanna see his reaction to the Werehog form.

OKOKOK I AINT GETTIN SIDETRACKED TODAY BINCH-

Seeing Sonic just staring at Shadow in that last panel has a lot of meanings/implications btw. First, it means that he's trying to clue into whatever Shadow is talking about with Rouge, aka himself. He knows it's something about him because he just has this gut feeling, and watching his boo talking in such a low tone like this... To Sonic it doesn't feel right. Before the previous night, the two weren't really withholding much information from each other, and there was rarely an air of secrecy between the two. They got along just fine! But after what happened with the Gaia monsters and Sonic accidentally going apeshit, there is suddenly this weird rift between the two that Sonic can feel, and he can tell that it's getting bigger and bigger by the hour. He doesn't want that. So, he's trying to listen in on what Shadow's saying to Rouge, hoping that if he knew more then there would be a better chance in fixing his relationship with Shadow.

And that's not even getting into how the guy feels responsible for said rift in their dynamic-

Oh and of course we can't forget the other implication of him staring, which is just him staring because he's in love or whatever. (Gay gay homosexual gay)

Another thing I want to note about Chip is that the poor guy just wants to help! :( He's doing all that he can to keep Sonic and Shadow from splitting apart, because even he can tell that something is up. He doesn't know exactly how to fix it, but he does know that honesty is a good policy. That's one of the only things he knows in ethics let's be real. So since he knows that being honest is the equivalent to being trustworthy and a good person, he tries to clue Tails in just a little, dropping some hints here and there about Sonic's condition, while also being super vague. (I think that's what the quicksand thing was about?? Sorry it's been a while lol) Meanwhile Shadow is trying to do the exact opposite, trying to keep everyone as out of the loop as they can except for Team Dark, because A. They're his family, and B. They already knew. Unbeknownst to him, this isn't a good way to handle a kid, and this is not what good parenting looks like, so it unfortunately dampens Chip's mood, which is something that he and the reader DOES NOT WANT.

WHY DO WE HAVE A PANEL WITH SAD CHIP NOW WHY WE DIDNT ASK FOR THIS OKAY WE DIDNT NEED THIS IT IS NOT OKAY WE ARE NOT FINE AFTER THAT-

🌷shadow and omega b oth have very complicated relationships w the concept of good bye. they don't really age or die? omega specifically has the advantage of having very limited emotion and a highly logic mind, so he would not waste energy mourning and accept when things end. Shadow is def still trying to figure it all out. as of rn in universe ofc he doesn't have to think abt it much yet, he's doing his best to prevent his friends from harm right now, and he'd rather just face the problems as they happen. especially in shth he learned that theres no use thinking about the what ifs, because there's a right now that needs to be dealt with. the more he thinks about what differenciates him from others the less he can concentrate on what matters: the things he's got in common. like the ground beneath their feet, the star they orbit around, the wind that blows in their faces... He knows about the inevitability of death enough through maria, and he will try his best to not make the same mistake twice. he's determined to move on. ofc its easier said than done, especially in the conceptual event that rouge would fall in combat or even worse.. because of a mistake that he made.. but there are so many possibilities that i could analyze we'd be here for ever.........

rouge herself i think hasdealt with loss before, and she might have had some history with people that she has cut out of her lives. it might seem cold but i think she as a person has mastered the art of severing. whether its healthy is not the question rn... she def has a very soft spot for shadow and omega, tho as stated above these two are really hard to kill so there's not much to worry about in that regard, if anything it's a worry that might not plague her right now, but eventually she's going to think about what it means to be the one that's being severed by forces beyond anyone's control

anyways i dont wanna get existential this morning so this is where i stop

👯‍♀️I headcanon rouge has some friends she regularly meets in her bar (i'll let it be open if it actually belongs to her or if she's just a regular) and she would def visit knuckles every now and then. not saying she'd like. actually talk to him tho. might just lurk in a bush and stare at the master emerald

omega is a tough one to think about tbh. i admittedly don't have too many thoughts on him outside of being part of the team... this is telling me i need to dig more into his individual character tbh. what would he do for fun? when not with the otehr two?? Maybe he actually is like a gamer playing shooters and made friends in voice chat. no one believes him when he introduced himself as killermachine, they think its just a nickname

shadow likes solitude, but i really like that one bit in the recent twitter take over where he and knuckles stood in the forest for hours watching the plants and animals and hwo the light changes throughout the day while going through the leaves etc etc... theyre both very connected to nature in their own ways and i think they could bond over that. also about how they both prefer solitude. they can be alone together! they dont need any words, they can just exist next to eachother for a few hours and feel good about it. he also most surely hangs out with sonic every now and then. hangingout being racing and having a good fight together. though im sure sonic can eventually convince him to spend proper time together. for example making a race into a trekking tour where they go random places sonic knows or doesnt know yet, and they learn about the culture and obviously the food. shadow does seem like someone who'd like to learn about the planet, and sonic's the type of guy who's super eager to have someone to show around and explore with that can keep up!

hihi, dont mean to bother you

I sleep on prospit and the aspect I got from the true zodiac quiz was light. though I dont care which one of these you want to incorporate into the final result. I also dont care about gender exclusive classes.

more about me; personality wise Id say Im a little weird, I often care more about my interests than my friends, of which range from innocent things like sea life and color theory to darker things like human anatomy and horror. I still love my friends, theyre just lower in priority. I am reclusive, but not often willingly, I suffer from fatigue which makes it hard to go outside a lot. though Ive kinda grown used to it that being alone is comforting now.

I think a big part of me is my munchausen syndrome, my life wasnt great, but I often feel like it should have been worse so I get more attention for it even though I KNOW thats not how it works. I WANT to be worse. my therapist chucks everything up to daddy issues when my mother was the one who abused me (my dad wasnt THERE to abuse me) and whenever I try to explain that I feel so unheard. otherwise I often daydream about vile situations to cope with stuff, or just, daydream at all. I get described as in my own head a lot. I like to pretend Im a lot more edgier than I actually am, it creates an imaginary barrier around me and makes me feel safer. in reality Im just an awkward, shy teen who apologizes a lot.

- Seers & Mages -

seers and mages are opposite classes, the same way that thieves and rouges are, to give a more broadly understood example. Seers learn/know their aspect in order to benefit their team; Rose lalonde the seer of light gathers more information about the game mechanics to give her session every chance it has of surviving. Mages on the other hand know their aspect for themselves, not to say they're selfish, they too are important in sessions, there's no class that doesn't play a role, but mages use their information to benefit themselves when playing the game

so im assigning you a Mage and not a seer because of how you use your words, how you describe your personal relationships being a lesser priority.

Mikey is a big dog type of person, partial to shepherds, pits, and mutt mixes. Really any large dog that he finds abandoned on the street is subject to paperless adoption, and no he doesn't care if they have a collar on already or might be chipped. That's why it's paperless! Ulrich doesn't have enough time to even pay attention to Y/N properly, so a pet is out of the question. But, if he did, then he'd probably have a snake, since they don't need to be fed as often as more traditional pets, and are perfectly content without the cuddles. And the butler would end up feeding it, more often than not, but at least the snake would have high-quality, live mice, and a very very large and elaborate tank to explore.

Zach is likely to have some kind of bird, perhaps a pair of doves. They're more hands-on and attentive to details, so they can manage the more specific needs of an avian friend - and also I just really like the idea of them taking their birds out to fly together with them.

Jessica strikes me as a rat type. They're awfully misunderstood as pets, nowhere near as dirty as people think they are, and they're actually very sociable if raised properly! She'd end up having 3 or 4, since they're a pack animal, but if you ever want a "chaos potato" dropped on your lap, she'll be happy to share her babies with you.

Jack would probably get jealous of other pets in the house, if I'm going to be honest. He's needy, and doesn't take being ignored or rejected very well - even if that rejection is only in his interpretation, and not reality. It might be different if you talk to him about it in detail first, but if it was sprung on him out of nowhere it is not a change he would handle well, thinking that he wasn't giving you enough love and attention, possibly even shutting down.

My name online is Lucky, but feel free to make up another one for me if you want. She/they by the way. Im somewhat now confident to post more on here. So, let me kinda explain this blog with one sentence.

This is where i will throw all of my fandom stuff at the wall, be it ocs with stories, fanart, reblogging of fanart, so on and so forth. For now, it is mostly all kinds of Batman stuff with rouges specifically (but it does changes or mix sometimes. Thank you hyperfixations). I'll tag what version im talking about in stories. (Such as the batman 2004 would be a tag)

With that being said, some ground rules.

DO NOT INTERACT IF YOU ARE A MINOR! I do want to post some more mature themes (not exactly naughties, not comfortable with that yet) on here and i do follow and relbog other people who have the same rule. So please respect it.

If you pass rule one and want to reach out, feel free too! Just so you know, i tend to type a lot (If not evident with this rule list) so i hope you don't mind word wall spam. I will try to keep messages shorter than blogs or posts.

I do not have asks open for now, i tend to make stuff for myself and want to share with others. Helps me with pacing myself. But i am open to messaging others to spur my little dumb brain with stuff.

I will end up posting stuff with TWs for character backgrounds( such as mentions abuse and drug usage). I understand some people don't like or are triggered by those things (me included sometimes). Understand most of them will be only mentions, not full descriptions, makes me queasy. I will definitely tag more than one trigger about stories with deeper stuff like it, just to be safe. I will post an alternate post with a song and a summary of how that song is a certain character's background. Its how i kinda process things with these kind of triggers. But you dont have to, it's just an alternate way others to enjoy and understand characters.

as much as i am excited for shadow in sonic 3 i still REALLY wish they hadnt jumped straight to sa2 n done sonic adventure instead or Something. obviously i get why they did shadow but i agree i really hope they dont just straight up adapt sa2 because theres so many moving parts. my biggest fear is that theyre gonna introduce characters like rouge and amy who are integral to shadows story (in sa2) at the same time and that its just gonna be a mess

yeah i love rouge and amy but if the next movie has to handle introducing both of them along with shadow then things could get really messy and i highly doubt that all three of them would get the amount of screentime and focus that they deserve. rouge was introduced at the same time as shadow anyway so thats not as much of an issue its mostly amy im worried about. she was already an established character who had been around for a few years when sa2 came out. assuming that the next movie is gonna be an sa2 adaptation and amy is going to be in it how are they going to handle that being her first appearance? and while i dont think i want the movies to be exact copies of the games in terms of story i do find it a tiny bit annoying that they seem to be somewhat going in order in terms of what characters they introduce and what games they adapt but just completely skipped over everything with amy in it and shes still the only main character who hasnt been introduced in the movies yet and they revealed shadow before her. like on one hand yeah shadow is one of the more popular and widely recognized sonic characters so it makes sense to use him and hype him up but also why did you have to do my girl amy like that

#and it doesnt help that amy is the only girl in the main cast too and is the only one that hasnt gotten any attention at all #iirc the sonic movies have always been planned to be a trilogy so that might have something to do with why they skipped cd and adventure #i guess its possible that amy or rouge could be introduced in the knuckles spinoff series. if that ever even comes out. #but idk. i dont like the idea of a main characters introduction being shoved into side media that a lot of people wont watch #because it really annoys me when other movie series do that #asks #ik in the second movie they split the cast into groups/teams and did very few solo character scenes #which i guess could work for the next movie too but if every important character from the first 2 movies #is also going to be in the next one along with any new characters then it could be harder to do that #while still giving every character the necessary amount of attention does that make sense

I feel like all sega official girls are sidelined in favor of OCs and thats honestly tragic.

Justice for my girls Amy, Rouge, Blaze, and Cream.

I know ive spoken alot about Amy cuz shes my favorite but also like Rouge she has soo much potential and so much opportunity for cool story lines and like shes just not used. Shes just thrown back as this character whos only thing is stealing jewels and being sexy. Like fam this girl might be a thief but shes loyal as heck and can probably quite literally kick your butt. I mostly ship her with Knuckles and I can totally see her helping Knuckles guard the master emerald even to like a greater extent in a way cuz like it would be her jewel and she gotta protect her treasure right 😂. But like if they got together I could totally see Rouge teasing Knuckles like "I told you the Master Emerald would be mine" with this sly playful look and Knuckles being a bit confused but obviously not betrayed cuz he fully trusts rouge, him giving her a quizzical look as in asking her what she meant and then Rouge replying "Whats mine is yours and whats yours is mine right. Dont worry Red I'll make sure no one takes this gem as long as Im by your side" or something along those lines.

Rouge deserves more stories with team dark, Knuckles, and even sonic

While he cooks he talks to you about how this was all Tulsi's idea. He's happy he listened though. But he's still a little on-edge. You can see it in the twitch of his ears and the readiness of his shoulders and the way his hand is never too far away from his sword. His eye flicks along the treeline incessantly. You finally end up telling him he could do a better job of keeping watch if he was using both eyes. And you pair that with a cute little smile?

....... he's shy but he unties his eyepatch. You can coo and give him little smooches on that side of his face. He's still very self-conscious but when you say he looks hot or whatever it makes him feel all tingly.

Okay but imagine you take his eyepatch,, and you,,, cause it's just a long strip of fabric right?? Like I think as soon as you say that you can see the tension melting off him a lil' because you're so cute and he really missed you and it's just the first time you guys have been able to enjoy being together and of course you have to be all cute and flirty

The longer you guys are out there the more he calms down. I think it also helps a lot if you sit next to him. He's gonna wind his tail around whatever part of you is closest. Talks to you as he cooks. There isn't a lot about the last 6 months that he's eager to share but he'll tell you a few things if you ask. He downplays the nightmares and the danger but it's still not pretty. I think he starts getting kinda down on himself - curling his shoulders in, ears flattening, shrinking down and bristling out - but you can ease him out of it by bumping your shoulder against his a little. After eating,, you can ask him if he wants to train,,, and at first he takes it v seriously but when you start playing around and sliding up against him and !! Oh!! It's Like That Is It?? and when he realizes what you're doing I think it's the first time in a long time that he's laughed so earnestly and been so relaxed. You two play around for a little bit like that. He's shy at first - it's not like he's been doing much flirting in the last six months - but he likes it when you take the lead anyways.

I assume you guys are near the lake. Once he's feeling comfortable with the surroundings and a little more confident, he might suggest a bit of nighttime swimming!

So Chapter 14,, in the tent, the night before the battle, the unpaid option is basically you guys flirting and you saying you're gonna 'distract him' and,,, anyways what I'm saying is I definitely assume y'all fucked and all I'm saying is you can go skinny dipping but leave the bow on 'cause you're his present :3

-Chat noir was emotionally going through a lot.

-He watched Nino and Alya's embrace and was relieved to see his best friend was okay.

-Nino appologized to Chat noir, and the cat responded like he did in canon.

-This propped up the question.

-He of course doesnt want to make a scene. So he says he is fine and the two fist bump.

-But as they leave. Chat noir felt compelled to send her a message.

-Ladybug was about to detransform when she saw it. A text from chat noir.

-'Could we talk later?'

-Ladybug felt it in her gut that she was right. That something was wrong with her kitty.

-That was an ask that came out of left field, but Ladybug did realize that Carapace and Rena Rouge have often been used together. So it wasnt completely unrealistic that he would ask.

-"Yes... During heroes day. We were in a rush and I didnt have time to give it to them individually. It was only between them so as long as they didnt get their identities exposed publicly, or potentially figured out by Shadowmoth... I figured it would be fine."

- Chat noir nodded, He understood the logic, and this did happen before she became guardian. Fu likely gave the okay on that. Or he didnt know.

-Which allowed Ladybug to iterate her 'Plan'

-"Which Shadowmoth DID find out. She was compromised. So she is no longer rena rouge. I have been meaning to inform you on that. Just letting you know." (this wasnt a lie. Alya wasnt Rena Rouge, she was Rena Furtive)

-Chat noir blinked. He didnt know that. But that did explain why Alya and her family was attacked by shadowmoth. Well that sucks for Alya. But he is glad he is being kept in the loop.

-"Okay, well that explains why she hasnt been showing up recently."

-"That is kind of the rule, if they get compromised publicly, temp heroes cant really be utilized. Especially with how Shadowmoth's been playing recently."

-"So I guess our rules on our secret identities are..."

-"They are more important then the temp heroes." Ladybug answered

-This did ease Chat noir a bit. Yes he was bummed, but it was nice that he was being prioritize over the temp heroes. He was still crucial to her.

-"It still sucks but i understand. Our Identities our crucial in maintaining. I guess I was a bit jealous of Alya and Nino and it got me thinking about things." He chuckled.

-"They do have a nice relationship"

-"How did you know Alya and Nino were Rena Rouge and Carapace?"

-Chat noir thought he just messed up but he manages to fake surprise.

The identity thing is basically pointless

Alright so the trailer for Optygami is out and I just realized, that the entire identity shit is absolutely bs in season four.

Like don’t get me wrong, the identity stuff already felt stupid and poorly covered up in season three, with literally Chloe revealing herself to all of Paris and Alya and Nino knowing each other, and Hawkmoth knowing who Kagami was, yet all that stuff was still under the “ok Ladybug is giving them a pass I suppose” and when Miracle Queen came around, I assumed the entire team is gone and that LB has to build a team from scratch (as I thought she was doing with Pigella and other heroes that will come this season)

Or so I thought.

Like, in the beginning of the season I was like “oh ok Marinette reveals herself to Alya because she had a really bad moment and is really struggling or whatever, this is fine”

Then after Mr. Pigeon it’s like “Okkkk why is Rena rouge publicly back? Like I get her being in the background, perhaps making illusions from her home, but she is very well known as the ladyblog girl, that puts her at huge risk and according to the miraculous rules she shouldn’t have a miraculous”

And NOW I’m like “OK I GUESS EVEN THE HEROES THAT WERE PERSONALLY REVEALED TO HAWKOMTH IN THE FINALE AND DONT KNOW WHO LB IS GET TO HAVE FUN AND HELP EVEN IF THE ENTIRETY OF PARIS KNOWS WHO THEY ARE NOW”

And the thing is?

Right now, the only person (outside of Pigella which I’m certain will reveal herself to Juleka because I love my lesbians) is Chat Noir. CHAT NOIR, the one bitch to have wanted an identity reveal for AGES, who tbh needs that type of support and companionship in life, is the only one who doesn’t get to tell anyone.

(Reminder the Chat Noir is bluntly suicidal because he feels useless and alone)

And don’t get me wrong, the entire identity thing is bullshit, the team should have been able to start and figure out identities of one another in season 2 and keep it a secret in the team, but then why is the show still insisting on the importance of keeping identities a secret?

Why can’t LB come up to Chat Noir and tell him the truth about what she told Alya and let him reveal himself to others? Why is he being kept in the dark? And why is he being sidelined?

Especially this season, with how much LB says she worries and cares for Chat Noir and told him how “I can’t be honest with anyone but you” and all that! Those are pretty words, and lots of ship bait but reality is? Chat is being downgraded into a love interest or comedic relief, and I am honestly terrified that the minute LB finally tells Chat the truth and he’ll be rightfully angry, everyone will come for his ass like “oh my god after everything she did to you and how she opened up to you you mistreat her you’re the worst” when he honestly has every right to be hurt and angry.

But yeah these are my two cents on the matter, and I’m going to read fanfic where Chat Noir actually gets equal attention and is not treated like crap.

1. No, Anne doesn’t have a mentor currently. It’s more like getting tossed into the water and learning to swim on your own.

She does end up getting help from Marcy, but originally she just kept it to herself. There’s a notebook filled with the ‘Dos and Donts of Heroing’ that she’s made from personal experience.

2. Yes! Both the Plantars and her parents are in this. She helps out at the Plantars farm on a couple days a week and don’t worry her parents are safe and sound. They don’t know exactly what Anne does at night, but they are beginning to suspect it isn’t always ‘late night study sessions’.

They won’t get “Uncle Benned”, there’s Marcy for that at a later time.

3. Indeed, Sasha is in this AU. I’m still working on the finer aspects and other details. She is a different experiment of Andrias, meant to be a perfect assassin, meant for those who went against Andrias himself. After all, who’d suspect a kid to be dangerous?

He considered her a failed experiment due to a few flaws. He placed Grime to ‘deal’ with her, however Grime went against his wishes and merely took her away instead. Grime has her under his wing, even though there’s now a large target on both their backs.

When Sasha first gets wind about this nighttime hero with abilities, her own interest is peaked and beginnings to seek them out, hopeful, thinking they’re another ‘failure’ like herself.

4. It’s funny you ask that, because I originally templated Anne a bit from Miles (my favorite Spider-Man). I’m not entirely certain yet, however I do plan for each of the girls so have an aspect of the Gems Powers in some manner or another.

The Blue of Anne reminded me of the Blue-Ringed Octopus, so I was going to incorporate a venom-touch almost. Also since the Blue also gives the aspects of high levels of energy, I wanted to do something with that too.

I still have to think more on this one, but if you have any ideas let me know!

5. Anne originally didn’t want anyone to know, the only issue was when things kept happening when they shouldn’t be happening ( stick to walls and other things being one of thing) was when she begun to think of needing to talk to someone. Just didn’t know when or whom.

She just didn’t know when or how. Marcy on the other hand, was puzzled as to way Anne was acting so off and basically avoiding her. In her mind, she thought she did something horrible or messed up in someway, causing Anne to want a break from the relationship or just completely ghost her.

Then it just so happened, Anne came into her room one night through the window, completely freaking out over a number of things and talking about sticking to walls, etc. And it was in that moment Marcy was relieved that she hadn’t don’t something terrible but rather holy crap her girlfriend had superpowers.
