ok it's rly stupid but discacc chapter 42 felt so weird writing not for anything in the chapter but bc i wrote it outside of my normal active chapter document. for the most part. LIKE i have this one document that i use for writing all my discacc chapters and HAVE since like way way way early on. like since chapter 2 ish early on? bc things were getting too long it was freaking out the doc & also it's easier to copy-paste new chapters into ao3 if i just have that chapter there. so i have my main fic thing (well, multiple, since discacc is too long to fit into one document lmfaoo) & then i write new chapters in this active chapter doc & then copy paste them into the main thing once im done

EXCEPT

so 42 was originally a part of 41. it was all gonna be chapter 41. and i wrote like 4.6k words of it in active document with chapter 41. then decided it was gonna be its own thing, so i just plopped that bit into its own document to cut it from the active chapter doc. but then. when it came time to continue it in chapter 42. i just. didnt move it back to the active chapter document. i just kept writing in separate document '42'.

and idk there's just smth that feels so WEIRD about that. like it wasn't a normal discacc chapter or smth. which is kinda stupid but idk. like i couldve moved it back over at any point. but i didnt. bc i was already there

anyways im looking forward to writing again in "DA active chapter" doc aka the RIGHT doc for discacc writing. thank you very much

- he’s so chaotic and stupid and i relate to him so much, definitely one of my favourite comfort characters

2. andy dwyer (parks and recreation)

- also chaotic and stupid, i just think he’s funny and adorable, just generally wholesome, another favourite comfort character

3. loki laufeyson (marvel cinematic universe)

- he’s on that absolute king shit!!! chaotic, funny, badass, has magic and can be scary (which is a slay). the fact that he’s queer is a major plus too

4. scott lang (marvel cinematic universe)

- just a goofy lil guy with so much love in his heart. another amazing and wholesome comfort character

5. merlin + arthur pendragon (bbc merlin)

- 2 for 1 cause they’re best together. i read merthur fics everyday and while i know fics aren’t accurate to their actual character/canon, they have one of the best dynamics ive ever seen

6. adelina amouteru (the young elites trilogy by marie lu)

- been ages since i read this but adelina is such a cool character. if i had powers, id want to have hers (or flying, that’d be great). actually went as adelina for halloween once. 10000/10 recommend the young elites

7. lena luthor / morgana pendragon (supergirl / bbc merlin)

- another 2 for 1. i watched merlin because i saw katie mcgrath in supergirl and now i read merthur everyday. both lena and morgana’s journeys are beautiful imo. lena from light to dark back to light. morgana’s from light to dark when it was so preventable. perfect characters for a perfect actress

8. nick nelson (heartstopper tv)

- i related to his s1 storyline quite a bit but overall he’s just such a loving character. sometimes when i see him on screen, i think he’s gonna explode with how much he loves charlie, his mom, nellie. reblog if u also need a nick nelson hug LOL

9. mirabella (three dark crowns series by kendare blake)

- one of my favourite book series and my favourite mc!! like seriously guys look up this series, the original plot is so cool and there’s some plot twists that made my jaw drop - my sister rating goes mirabella, katharine, arsinoe btw hehe

10. dwight schrute (the office)

- he carried the show tbh. especially after michael left. i never rly cared much for jim and pam (ofc i wanted them to get together but i don’t love them). dwight was consistently funny and chaotic, and most of the best plots included/rided on him

there’s a suspicious assortment of farmer’s market goods waiting for you on your office desk. 

farmer’s market, because the plastic wrapping is logo-less and soft—crinkling with hardly a note of familiar store-branded sturdy crispness. farmer’s  market, because you can even recognize this specific shape and smell of bag: earthy and papery with serrated edges. 

“what the…?” 

for a moment, you think someone has just dumped their morning shopping there for you to guard—hoarding someone’s treasure trove of fruits and vegetables by proximity and convenience until they dare to show their faces. 

there’s a little bouquet of flowers, too, neatly arranged in one of the office mugs, the stems too long to fit. the blossoms droop and tilt, but they’re vibrant and sweet-smelling. there’s a note attached, but you don’t dare touch it, no matter how the curiosity eats at your resolve, coaxing your fingers to twitch out and reveal the text to your eyes. 

“is there something wrong?” a low voice questions, rumbling the air between you and the speaker, a familiar, spine-tingling cadence that has your throat going dry. 

shouto looks handsome, as he always does. blinks at you with his two-toned gaze, deceptively innocent, for the way he’s gazing at you: the intensity and expectation of someone who’s waiting for the punchline of a joke, or a poorly-kept surprise to make its’ appearance. 

“nothing,” you say after finding your voice. “it’s just,”—and you gesture helplessly to the bags and bags of produce—“do you think someone forgot their groceries?”

his mouth quirks, and you hate him a little for how handsome it makes him look, for the way his bangs shadow the his strong brow, the gentle slope of his cheeks and nose. there’s a hint of ear from between those strands of hair, peeking out from the tomato red curtain of them. 

“you said you wanted vegetables,” he says, hardly even batting an eye. “they’re for you.” 

“i—” denial is quick on your tongue, but then you remember: you did say that. or at least something similar. remember joking about it with the receptionist, complaining about how the price increase would be the death of you—long before the next head-ache inducing incident between shouto’s unfiltered mouth and the reporters that love him could take its' toll. “i was just kidding,” you say eventually, meekly. hardly convincing.

shouto’s head tilts. “they’re for you,” he repeats. “are they not enough?”

hate him. i hate him, you think mindlessly, lying to yourself as you smile and try to arrange the bags in a less conspicuous area of your office. who goes out to buy bags of vegetables for someone voluntarily? even just to be nice?

gojo x reader -> almost kiss + flirting under fire

the gojo hater that runs strong in my blood wants flirting to be like more akin to banter in which gojo is flirting with you and you are just like "will you please shut up and focus on the fight?"

oh. even though i'm a very big enemies to lovers kind of girlie, i think that the implication of flirting under fire is that the two people flirting are allies. so we're going with that.

though, i guess at the same time, any fight that gojo's involved in would be him curbstomping huh. so it's probably a larger scale fight. i'd say in an enclosed area though, so you can flirt. or he can flirt with you. but you know also exorcising a bunch of curses in an infested building and the whole conversation taking over the phone (complete with bluetooth- i think reader would be wearing one but mr. strongest sorcerer can get away with holding his phone up to his ear. die fucker.)

okay okay, so that's the setting there, now for the kiss. almost kiss. uhhhhh. i feel like gojo's infinity is an obstacle here. i mean obviously if reader tried to kiss him, because they most definitely would not, then it would be an almost kiss no matter what if he keeps that damn thing up. on the flip side, it could also be an almost kiss where he's leaning in and about to kiss you, and then you remember it's fucking gojo and you'd rather die than kiss him. given the established dynamic, i doubt either of them are gonna like have a celebratory almost kiss lmao.

so i guess it would be one of two ways: first, reader and gojo meet up in some big final battle arena (let's say this is a school so like a gym or a courtyard) and either:

Reader is thrown back by an attack and lands on their back and Gojo appears and he's like checking to make sure you're okay, but he's like leaning in super close and he keeps getting closer and your brain stops working and you think maybe he's gonna kiss you for whatever reason (either Gojo can tell and is doing it to tease you or he's just doing it for shits and giggles) and then another curse appears behind him and like you open your mouth to try and tell him or whatever but gojo is not letting this curse ruin his bit, so he, while maintaining eye contact, still looking like he's gonna kiss you, tosses a hand up and blasts that thing out of the sky. guts rain everywhere, but he uses infinity so you don't get sprayed in curse guts. how nice of him. probably didn't want his expensive ass clothes to get dirty. just when you think you're gonna kiss he strands up straight and cheers that everything's done and you're just stuck with a racing heart lmao.

reader is flung by the curse toward gojo and instead of letting you slam into infinity like a frisbee he turns it off and catches you, but the curse threw you with enough force to make him fall over when he catches you in his arms. you shift and notice your lips are super close and your brain slides into dumbass mode and you're thinking about how you could almost be kissing, but then the curse roars or whatever behind you and you try to jump up to go finish it off, but gojo holds u still in with one of his huge ass hands and blasts it with the other. curse is gone. you're still in position to kiss. you kinda wanna, cuz you're still kinda raring to go, but then idk you don't??? because it's gotta be an almost kiss. maybe you get a phone call that freaks you out and you jump off him and run to answer the phone.

both endings sound fun. i think lmao. so either could work.

ruti absolutely embodies that energy of a cat, and i can delve into at least part of that without terrible spoilers, but he has decided to become one of my favorite side characters in echoseers so theres even more behind the cut <3

the biggest things that stand out about ruti:

- he's the cityheir of aree. its His Parents that are being overthrown in firebreathers

- he's ALSO the subject of gab's one-sided rivalry in the aree circus-theater because the citylord wants his boy to be the spotlight if he's gonna be an acrobat, and absolutely has bribed the ringleader several times to give ruti the lead

- ruti was not aware of the above and because gab is Professional he literally just thinks gab is his buddy.

- those two are just the perfect amount of similar catty mean-girl energy to absolutely hate each other given the opportunity

- aka when gab finally Snaps they are at each other's throats in the most petty way possible. this is where the line "Do these look chipped to you? Asshole?" *waving manicure in face* comes from

but for my favorite things about ruti........... we must dive into Spoilers. purposefully a bit vague so theres no huge things, but behind the cut nonetheless <3

turns out he was doing his damnedest to get his dad to listen to the rebellion before they got their shit rocked, and wholeheartedly agrees with the rebels. mans was literally working at the theater that whole goddamn time, he knows what the people think and care about and he's been made to care too. his dad's just a stubborn asshole

also when he wasn't in aree?? when he was in impalfahr for half the year on political business with his parents?? yeah that time??

he was being trained in espionage. BY ACTAEA. AT XAVI'S SIDE.

he then uses said training to rock her shit in return, albeit because he's paired with the Idiots Who Stumbled Into World-Saving Importance (aka gab + andy + ros) it does end up being entirely ineffective. but also xavi's kinda like an older brother to him, but also xavi Betrayed Him and he's still trying to grapple with that whole deal.

he's fully capable of sneaking up on and spying on the eternals, and has done it, and does it before the readers learn this about him. he also openly admits to breaking into tieling's office to burn a proposal his dad put forth to take back aree. because he's that ballsy.

also also: the one-sidedness of gab's rivalry? made all the clearer when ruti's like "YOU WERE LITERALLY THE ONLY PERSON WHO I THOUGHT EVEN MAYBE LIKED ME, WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE NOT MY FRIEND???" because.......... he literally just realized his Only Friend hates his guts.

yeah. that part made me sad for him. which i was not expecting ever to do.

ruti genuinely wants to be a good dude, he's just also super vain and was raised in a monarchy that told him he was The Most Specialest Boy (except his grandparents, thats a whole other homophobia deal thats left vague even in-book) and so he forgets to turn that whole line of thinking off sometimes.

still a lil bit of a dick but gab's also a dick and we love him for it so. yeah

i dont stan ruti but i Understand ruti. and i have absolutely laid the groundwork for him to come back up in later books after the Glittergale arc and we'll get to see him as a well-adjusted common man into some nefarious side gigs beyond his small theater troupe. and i am so excited for that

When we started dating he just got his ass beat. But it was the fact he got his ass beat for me. It's been a week now, DeShawn ain talkin to us and Javier's just friends with everyone still. Me and Deandre? The closets we've ever been. We hated each other since childhood but now we're dating?? The shits crazy. Today me and him finna just watch netflix an shi. "Whatchu wanna watch. AND GET YOUR DIRTY ASS SHOES OFF MY BED! ALWAYS SOMETHIN." he rolls his eyes and flips me off while taking his shoes off. "Anyways I wanna watch spiderman" I pass him the remote and lay down with my hot cheetos.

45 minutes later

"Babe. Respectfully. Miles is so fucking fine. I'd smash." I say while sharing a honey bun with him, "I should be the only one gettin ta smash." he says at me while kissin my cheek. "Technically....in the first one with Miles on it I'd let him smash...you was my boyfriend for only a week so far. He's been my mans for like...eternity." he sits up from his spot, "I'll be ya mans till we die." he turns my head so that way he can kiss me on the lips but as soon as we do my mom walks in, "Ahem. This don't look like no friendship. Look like a goddamn relationship." I feel my cheeks get hot as hell, perks of being black is you will never see me blush. "Uh I was gonna go ina minute Mrs. Aiyannas momma. Uh cya tomorrow." he walks of as if he's embarrased too. Soon as he leaves the house shit goes down. My mom drags me downstairs to face one dad and over protective older brother.

"Guess what I just caught ya damn daughter doing Dante?" dad looks towards me and narrows his eyes "what the fuck you do?" before I can even open my mouth mom says it for me "She was over here kissin a boy with the goddamn door closed. And that only leads ta babies." my older brothers stupid ass just says "Whats his name. Finna beat that niggas ass. On god bro." I push my brother aside. "The only thing u finna beat is ya tiny ass meat. Lonely ass." he flips me off while moms talking about putting me on birth control. After a while I learn how to tune her out. I head upstairs and I see a phone call from Deandre. I call him back and we talk.

D: "Babe. Be real here. That shit was embarrasing as fuck.

A: "Uhm for me. Hows it embarrasing youuu?"

D: "Im the boyfriend of they daughter. Thats just akward on my end."

We go back and forth until I start getting tired. "Lil momma you sound tired as fuck. Go to sleep, schools back in tomorrow anyways." I only sigh out a sleepy "mhm.." then I think "I'm sorry you and DeShawn fell out because of me." he goes from sweet to pissed real quickly. "He put his hands on you, so I don't care" I sink into my pillow while he talks about shit going on. I fall asleep listening to his voice

5:12 A.M

I wake up and I start getting ready for school. It's not until I get out of the shower I notice he's still in the call. He does a face time request and I walk to the mirror. "Mkkk guys! It's time for the GRWM school edition!" I say in my best youtuber voice which makes him laugh "Anyways want me to pick you up? I don't want you on tha bus with DeShawn rude ass." I mumble something "When we first met I was tryna stay off the bus from your rude ass" he flips me off and rolls his eyes in the camera. "Anyways I'm on my way and we can pick up some starbu-" before he can finish that sentence I run downstairs with my phone and poke my head out. "Im ready! Where ya at bae?" He just shakes his head then pulls up 6 minutes later. Once we get my food and drink we head to school where we see DeShawn with this pretty ass girl. I know I have a boyfriend but the was DeAndre's looking at her it makes me feel jealous on the inside. She walks up to Deandre and hugs him. When she hugs him DeShawn smirks as if its apart of his plan.

I know this week finna be hard as fuck to survive through.
