End of the year asks meme, originally posted here!

1. Song of the year?

It’s going to be a tie between Florence + the Machine - My Love (for new releases), and Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond (for old releases I only just discovered).

2. Album of the year?

Again using the same criteria - Florence + the Machine’s Dance Fever and The Whitlams’ Sancho for new releases, and Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here and Animals for older ones.

3. Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?

I had already heard Dark Side of the Moon, but this was the year I started actually listening to Pink Floyd. God we’re three questions in and I’ve mentioned them in all of them so far XD

4. Movie of the year?

Goncharov, obviously. Okay would you believe I haven’t actually watched any movies this year? Like. Literally any.

5. TV show of the year?

His Dark Materials punched me in the emotions. Like. Four hours ago.

6. Episode of TV or webisode that defined the year for you?

Ooh jeez. I have no idea unless I can just say ‘season three of HDM’, haha.

7. Favorite actor of the year?

Uhh. Ruth Wilson? Holy shit she was an amazing Mrs Coulter.

8. Game of the year?

Stray. Perfect and adorable <3 I am kissing the baby on the head.

9. Best month for you this year?

Probably March and September? First months of autumn and spring respectively, March had my brother’s wedding and that was gorgeous, and September had the Nona release :D

10. Something that made you cry this year?

I literally just stopped bawling over HDM a few hours ago.

11. Something you want to do again next year?

Go places! The wedding was the first time I actually went on a trip somewhere in, um, a while, and I also did a short overnight trip to Sydney, and a few days in Canberra. Going to do a few days in Sydney in January, so that’s already planned!

12. Talk about a new friend you made this year

Man I have no idea if you’re a friend you’ve just sort of always been A Friendly Presence and I can’t tell the passage of time any more.

13. How was your birthday this year?

Lovely and chill. Mum tried a new chocolate cake recipe and it’s glorious.

14. Favorite book you read this year?

Nona the Ninth Nona the Ninth sob.

15. What’s a bad habit you picked up this year?

Not so much ‘picked up’ as ‘more or less slowed down then resumed again’, but chewing on my fingers. I have callouses. Send help.

16. Post a picture from the beginning of the year

Here’s a dinosaur outside the cool crystal/mineral museum near where the wedding was, from early March.

18. A memorable meal this year?

Ooh man vegan teppanyaki at Canberra. That was so fun :D

19. What’re you excited about for next year?

Sydney trip and Måneskin’s Rush album in January, Tears of the Kingdom in May, and Alecto the Ninth some time probably nearer the end of the year!

20. What’s something you learned this year?

I can, in fact, tolerate some small measure of chilli :o

21. What’s something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?

Rearranged my room to put my desk against the wall, works much better, I think. Also we took out a tree that was growing way too close to the house, which was unfortunate, but wow I get a lot more light in here now.

22. Favorite place you visited this year?

The farm my brother had his wedding at, in the Warrumbungles, was absolutely gorgeous.

23. If you could send a message to yourself back on the first day of the year, what would it be?

Be stubborn, but also know when the approach isn’t working. Will something else work?

24. Did you keep any New Year’s Resolutions?

Didn’t really make resolutions, but as for loose goals, we have... finish the clanswap AU (done!), draft two of Solstice (see 23, actually, because that led to what’s now technically draft three of what’s now TTTH), try original writing (did one story!), draw more diverse things like backgrounds, animals, OCs, landscapes, et cetera (ehh, not really), try more baking (lmao fail), keep working on weight (check!) and fitness (not so much, but I did manage a 2km walk!), work out new ways to do diverse bujo spreads (I think so?) and flat lays (lmao nah), fix up the bathroom (no, but more because it actually is going to need a renovation, not just a quick fix), and leave Instagram (...mostly).

25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one

Let’s go with Aleki, my ‘canon’ protag for Sins of the Sires! (Came out in March.) He’s a sweet baby who has a faint trolling streak and is genuinely happy to be a thinblood because he gets to still see the sun, aww yeah. Good-natured and extremely soft. Uh, traumatised, but that’s canon’s fault lmao.

If you want to read my loonggg crazy shipper rant, keep reading below. XD

While my friends fell in love with the guy anime characters, I fell in love with shipping!! (I can never tell them I’m a crazy shipper! They’ll understand crushing over a character, but not obsessing over getting two fictional characters together!!! HAHAHA)

I’ve been shipping since I was a kid. The will they, won’t they aspect is just arrhhgghh!!!! Watching FMA 1 - with EdWin, I know they’re canon now. BUT the pain. THE PAIN. Of that first FMA series. You. Don’t. KNOW. HAHAHAH. Then, to see that they’re actually canon in manga; then in FMA Bro. The betrayal! I was in pain for so many years!!! HAHAHA.

Shipping made me want to learn how to draw. Made me want to learn Japanese. Made me creative. I’m ancient now, doing boring adult things. But I still ship, it’s just become something I do to pass the time HAHAHA!

And still, for over a decade now, it’s the same headache with shipping. So much unnecessary vitriol from people with too much free time on their hands.

Firstly, who the fuck cares if you ship a gay or straight pairing? Good if canon shows us what their preference is. But, come on! Who are we kidding? You think a Japanese shounen manga will ever make their characters gay??? If you think your enemy is some innocent shipper riding on their own delusions on the internet during their free time, maybe while drinking their morning coffee before getting stressed with work, omg you may just be the dumbest person alive. HAHAHA.

Secondly, these poor fem characters!!! The first ship I was ever invested in was 1 x R. And holy cow! The hate on Relena back then. I couldn’t understand it at all. She was annoying sometimes. But, come on! She’s a kid. I thought she was cool honestly. She wasn’t afraid of Heero’s threats. She stood her ground. She fought for peace, for her kingdom. She was so OG.

Then, I realized that the hate was just really from simps of these bishounens. My brain went haywire then. Like - wtf.

It never occurred to me that people could go batshit crazy over a fictional male character. >.<”

Shipping is a fun pastime! It’s a bias! Specific to your tastes! You’ll never be wrong or right, because of the million headcanons that could fill up someone’s imagination. So, just ship and let ship. Haha~!

Do you think I like the thought that in some universe, my ship is actually destined for another??!!!! I. DON’T!!! But, I won’t go bitching about it on your tag and stay in my deluded world hahahah. Unless it’s the Naruto shipping wars. That’s just - it’s just too late for that mess. HAHAHA!

I can’t believe how I would just draw sketches on the back of my scratch papers, as a poor kid. Now, look at me, I bought a tablet with my own money. I’m so proud of myself for not giving up on my dreams. HAHAHA. *pats myself in, you still have a long way ahead of you*

RWBY V8E4 LiveThoughts

And were back at it again, this week with turkey and Italian preserved sausage as a snack! Lets see what RT has for us this week.

Oh, 20 minutes. Are they normally this long?

Oh, wait, the openings almost 2 minutes long. Thats more like it.

And now to Robyn and Qrow. Seems Robyns actually liking Qrow a little bit now.

Guess the cells aren’t secured if a fly got into Schnee’s. This a “Fly on Mike Pence’s face” reference?

Qrow sounds more growly again. Did he get smacked back two seasons by Clover dying?

If by “darkness” you mean “Tyrian” then, yes. Also dude, its Clover. He was shit anyway. All the Aces are shit. Dont feel too bad about him.

And he’s got a point too. If Clover had thought with his head instead of his dick (yes, Im sure they were gonna fuck, Fair Games totally a thing), he probably wouldnt be dead now, and Tyrian would be the one with the sword through his chest.

But of course this is RWBY and V7/8 so things cant go their ways.

Ouch. Deep thoughts of Qrow. And some interesting stuff from Robyn too. I still think I’d prefer hopeandharmonizing’s Briar, though.

Marrows glare gives me life. Hare’s just a moron right now though, but thats no real surprise. She’s immature emotionally. Honestly, shes...kind of like a less bad version of our current President. Always has to be the best at everything, fastest, leader, whatever.

Thats probably why this is grating on her so much. Even though shes TECHNICALLY the Ace’s leader now (I think? Seemed like she was Clovers lieutenant, so by rate of succession she’s in command now)

A glance at the little floating control pad... “Clerance access only”. Okay, that...seems weird. Shouldnt it say something like authorized personell only? Maybe it means access by clerance only or something.

Then Robyn’s name, and then process ID 4591-27. No idea what thats useful for but its there.

Also Marrow seems to be the only competent member of the Aces rn.

Ah now we get to see some of the hills around Atlas. For those of you who have seen my headcanons on the Hunter-Killers and their base of operations, Fortress Academy, its out in these hills somewhere.

The music sounds like a boss fight.

The screen on Ren’s hoverbike reads “HVB Rhino” and “HD5800″ I can only assume HVB stands for “hoverbike” and Rhino must be its name, like how the dropships are Mantas. No clue what the number is.

Also apparently the cold in Solitas is so bad it corrupts machinery?

Ahh, good, some action. Lets see what we get now. Ohh, teamwork. And again, signs that aura allows you to move faster and farther than a normal human

Heh, it really is like a boss fight, like the chase scene at the end of the first Viking level in For Honor.

Oh, and it can call for reenforcements literally out of nowhere? Or is the whole tundra of Solitas just CRAWLING with Grimm?

Yes, yes it did just call for backup, Yang. Maybe these are all forward scouts and ambush units from the Grimmstorm. They did say its the biggest...

What the hell happened in Solitas to cause this geography? Seriously, its a line of bridges over a gap in two cliffs...that cant be natrual, not that equal in distance.

Man, those bikes didnt even last half an episode...I guess thats fair, they are facing obsurd odds. Or maybe they just want Yang to be the only one with a bike.

And there goes the dropwall. Woops.

Also you can just kinda see it but they bounce off the rock and thats why they slow down. Useful.

Also this part with them falling off the edge reminds me of the ending cutscene of Halo 4s Forerunner level, where Chief flies out of a portal and almost goes sailing off a cliff in a Ghost. Except here, the bike stays on the land and THEY go off the cliff.

Holy shit what are Ren’s weapons cables MADE OF? The one atop him is holding him AND the weight of his two teammates. And the one below has both Jaune and Yang. No sign of slippage or breackage at all.

Ahhh there’s the whaleship (Monstra? Fuck it Im gonna keep calling it the whaleship). So yeah my headcanon now is the mountain its right next too is Menachite, where Fortress is.

Oh hey back to the Schnee manor of all things! Does...this mean military invasion of the Schnee grounds. Hey Whitley. Lesbians are here.

I do love the circling shot here, with the light on Yang’s hair and the shadows on Ren. Its...really artistic and emotional. GREAT WORK RT.

Rens got points. And hes saying stuff I myself have been saying for ages, which is good. I wonder why this is how Ren is now...working with the Ace Ops? Being afraid of loosing Nora? No one tell him what happened last episode.

Also, Jaune’s hair seems to have gotten less crazy in recent episodes. It looks less like a banana and more like a close tactical cut.

Yangs got a point.

Ahhh and now we get to see the inside of the whale.

It is amusing the only thing holding Oscar down is the Hound actually.

Also I like how Salem calls them “her forces” as if its anything but a random bunch of expendable monsters. Like, bruh, you cant search anything with THAT.

Ignoring the boring chat between these two, notice how the Hound’s shoulder literally flexes and shifts when Salem touched it. I dont think this thing is solid at all aside from the head and the bone claws...the whole thing is just amorphous Grimm material that can adapt to whatever situation it requires. A specialist unit. A...Hunter hunter.

Yo what the fuck was that. Magic? Huh. Did we actually SEE magic for once in the show? Only took us 8 FUCKING SEASONS...

Doesnt seem to be anything but an energy blast/pain never firing though. I assume his auras still gone, cause its completely singed his shirt, but it didnt do much else.

I think she A) cant actually beat up on Ozma herself because she still cares and B) shes almost out of magic too. Its weakened as the Gods have been gone and shes been forced to rely on the Grimm and on pawns. Basically, once she and Oz are both gone? That’s it for magic. Remnant will belong to the Grimm...and to technology.

At which point without Oz around to hold them back Atlas is going to go fucking BONKERS and basically ensure the Grimm get pushed back into a corner and then finally permenantly STAMPED OUT.

More Whale insides. Seems like most of its empty grandious spaces. Or possibly muscle? Hard to tell. Either way theres a lot of open air in there...with tight corridors. If you fired a thermobaric warehead into one of the chambers the resulting blastc could possibly blow the doors off and send a raging fireball through the entire thing...Hmm. Filing that away for later.

NEO IS SO SHORT ITS FUNNY TO ME. I know its just positioning BUT SHE LOOKS EVEN SHORTER IN THIS SHOT THAN USUAL.

More note on the Hound; the “flesh” around its right shoulder spike actually sinks down when it stops moving. Its neck shifts and moves too, like the material isnt solid, but recirculating.

I also dont see any eyes. And it looks like it has some kind of...forehead mouth? Def looks like teeth down the ridge of its spine.

Oh boy yeah that...whole thing is basically melting in on itself.

I wont lie; hearing Cinder get berated by CORTANA (and yes, I still hear Cortana in Salem, espeically now that the two characters are kind of one and the same, both megalomaniacal leaders of giant armies, bar the fact that one of them is about a TRILLION times more dangerous than the other because one of them has access to Guardian Custodies and the other one is...well kind of lame and has to have beefy dudes beat up on small children etc) is pleasing to me.

Get fucked, Cinder.

And THERE is Cortana again too.

JJBA (VA) Purge AU (3)

yeeee this is the one abt the relationship scenarios ;)))

i highly recommend checking out the previous parts first, if not this might be kinda hard to follow

between me and my 1.5 braincells we're trying really hard y'all so pls go easy on us show some support ;_;

(oh yea a heads-up no ships are decided yet so treat all these relationship scenarios as hcs (yea imma make AUs inside an AU lmfao))

tw: (1 mention of) homophobia, referenced past abuse, bullying (??)

1. fugio

the first scenario that popped into my head is that Fugo and Giorno go to the same university (for some reason Gio's parents can afford to send him there, idk he probably got financial aid or sth, and then after he killed them (😳 awkwardddd) he's probably using their life insurance in fear of it running out). and Fugo doesn't really care for Gio bc he's a rich boye and he has his quality™️ elite friend circle so why bother himself w a nobody. but in reality all of Fugo's friends are either only on a social level (u know those ppl who you're friends w but u won't necessarily have deep convos w them or choose to hang out w them n stuff), or they're fake and only hang out w him bc of his wealth & status, or bc their rich parents are friends. plus (im referring to the anime backstory here), after the scandal w that professor who sexually harassed him, many ppl secretly hate him and talk shit abt him behind his back due to homophobia.

but anyway, Fugo's plotting against all those biches :) so where does Giorno come in? Gio, being this innocent poor boy who doesn't have a home to go back to, lives on dorm. and let's just say Fugo does too bc he doesn't have the best relationship w his demanding parents, so he was overjoyed when he finally talked them into letting him move from home into the dorms instead. (side note he prolly doesn't Purge his parents bc he needs their money.) so Gio and Fugo know of each other, but not acquaintances or anything.

and then

one day when Fugo's either

running into trouble with some authority figure at school again

just minding his own business and planning his Purge targets

Gio walks in on him, and he's either like

"omg Fugo r u ok do u need help what happened"

"omg Fugo idk what happened between u and ur targets but Purging ain't good, pls reconsider"

and Fugo, having the short-ass fuse that he does (plus probably having his pride wounded and just general mistrust of the ppl around him spurring him on):

"stfu u know nothing about me, but now you've seen this i guess it wouldn't hurt to kill you too"

"stfu u know nothing about me, ur probably one of those happy asshats that have no need for Purges, reconsider?? haha the only thing i'll reconsider is if i'll add u to my kill list" (bc if Gio reports him or sth, Fugo & his fam can get into trouble, since his targets are probably rich and/or influential ppl, but it isn't Purge time yet, so it can be considered malicious intent and/or attempted murder i guess, and so anyone who has any beef w the Fugo fam can bring them down) (i know nothing abt law don't come for me)

and then Gio is like "fuck dis shit im out" and he skrts tf out of there, but sadly Fugo ain't lying 😔 the day of the Purge comes, and Giorno was just trying to barricade himself inside his dorm room when suddenly, Fugo pulls an FBI OPEN UP and breaks inside using all his high-tech weaponry n stuff (i'll share my hcs for chara design later!!). Gio is freaking out so he jumps out the window into the streets, even risking going outside during Purge just so he can get away, but oh 🅱️oy is Fugo stressed tonight. and he literally hunts Gio down and almost kills him

uNTIL!!!¡!

2. abbacchio & giorno:

(SORRY I JUST LOVE DADBACCHIO & GIORSON SO MUCH)

Abbacchio is tasked w hunting down a certain rogue criminal, so he's la-di-da cruising thru Naples to get to Bucci's house, when suddenly this fucking kid comes running up to him with his hair and clothes all messed up and tears running down his face, and is like "pls help me sir i beg u i just need somewhere to hide pls i don't want to do this i don't want to die" and Abba's like "fuq??" but then he hears manic laughter and chainsaws revving and shit, and the kid sniveling all over his crisp™️ Purge suit looks like he can explode with fear at any moment (and plus Abba understands that nobody would ever run up to another person for help during Purge like this, unless it's really their last option), so he sighs, "fine. get behind me."

the kid drops to his knees and Abba can't help but think "aaahhhh fucking dead weight", but he said he'd help, so that's what he's gonna do. now ANOTHER kid rounds the corner but he barely looks sane, he seems almost possessed by something. *fighting ensues* but being a professional cop Abba knocks the kid out cold w a few swift moves, and when he drops to the ground that crazy expression finally leaves his face. he's already wasted too much time, so Abba turns to Kid 1 and is like "go back home brat and dont get into trouble again", but Kid 1 is still a trembling mess on the ground, and he says "i don't have any home to go back to."

subconscious Abba's like "well that's between you and god" but he knows he's basically this kid's god now (besides, there can't possibly be a god that would let things like Purges happen), so he's like, "fine. get in the car and DON'T get in my way" but THEN Kid 1 points to the passed-out demon child, "but we can't leave him here"

A: "he was gonna KILL you!!"

K1: "i know but he didn't mean it, he was just not thinking straight"

A: "Purges ain't where ppl think str8 kid, besides if he didn't really wanna Purge he wouldn't have geared himself up that well"

K1: “but he’s not a bad person. please, if we leave him out here in this state he’ll be killed for sure.”

at this point Abbacchio can't understand wtf Kid 1 is thinking, but for the first time in years he finds some of the humanity he was hoping to regain in Purge, so he's like "fine. haul him into the backseat. but you're sitting with him bc i got my shit in the front. and if he wakes up you're dealing w it this time. cool?"

Kid 1 nods, and surprisingly he has enough strength to shove Kid 2 into the backseat & get in after him. Abba is trying to decide what he wanna do w these kids, when his phone suddenly beeps, and in comes a new message from his superiors, "yo dawg u gotta hurry up and kill that Bucciarati guy, we'd better not catch u slacking" and he's like "yo Kid 1, can u fight?"

"uh, a bit. why?"

"well, that's what you're gonna do for me in return for my protection."

anywhooooo i imagine that later on, Fugo wakes up like "ugh wtf hello concussions????" and he sees Gio standing over him, and he snaps into defensive mode, sitting up and shoving Gio away and everything. but then he sees that Gio's hands are empty, save for maybe a bottle of water and a towel, and somehow Fugo's own wounds are all cleaned and bandaged, and he groans:

"dude, what the fuck are you doing? did i pass out? did you find help?"

G: "you got hit over the head pretty hard, don't move so suddenly."

F: "haha yea thanks i can feel that myself, anyway wtf were you doing?"

G: "uhhhhh... abbacchio patched you up but your face was really grimy so he told me to clean you up, and maybe give you some water?"

F: "no. i mean like what the fuck were you doing????? braincells hello?? kill me! i should be dead!!! is Purge over?? did the sirens go off before you can finish me?"

he suddenly notices how Gio just recoils and sits there with his eyes squeezed shut as Fugo shouts at him and flings his arms around. but he's seen how Gio defended himself against him, so he knows this guy can fight and is no stranger to Purges. this is the first mystery his 152 IQ has encountered in a long time, so Fugo reaches out to get Gio's attention, but then Gio jumps and slaps his hand away so hard Fugo feels his bruised brain jar. he pulls back immediately, holding his hands up, palms forward, finally kind of able to pierce together what's going on inside the blond's mind:

"sorry. wasn't gonna attack you. just... wasn't sure if you were listening to me, so i tried to get your attention."

"i was."

"okay. sorry." Fugo tries, but Gio is already standing up and leaving, glassy green eyes looking anywhere but at him. "wait! Gior— ugh??"

How do you react to readers predicting your plot twists?

Depends when they do. A page or two before it happens? Both of us get to feel clever. Yay! Months ahead? Well, obviously the thing I thought a a big twist ain't it, so I get to decide what other thing to focus on. I usually don't change the plot on reader predictions, but I can always change how a twist is presented from "Big surprise! Bet you didn't expect that" to "Well, ain't it neat to FINALLY have confirmation about that thing?"

Funnily, the best plottwist I ever wrote was in my now defunct comic. I thought it was obvious, but my few readers went "WOAH, didn't see THAT coming." So these days I try to just write the story and let the twists fall where they may.

ASDFPHIaewpf a friend of mine was reading my comic and he was making a lot of theories, a bunch of them was way off but he managed to be 100% accurate about one of his theories and I just started laughing nervously when he talked to me about it before it happened in the comic. This was years ago and the thing already happened and it's not a big deal anymore, but at the time I felt proud to write something that was obscure enough to not be on the reader's face but at the same time having someone figure it out after connecting the dots

I have little twists that happen in a more funny way, and it's usually used for comedy, and my readers seem to like it

but that's probably because of the expectations in humor coming from my writing style

which is usually bad puns and character reactions to absurd situations

and I agree witch chalcara, sometimes we can feel like we failed a plot twist when people see it from miles away

which is true, but sometimes even when they figure it out it's best to leave it as it is

I've seen a lot of writers fucking up their stories by changing plot twists that were stablished just because "people found out too early", and retconing a lot of the story in result

like, making a plot twist consists in creating some kind of foreshadowing

to make the twist not seem too forced and taken from nowhere

also to make it rewarding for those who searched deep for those clues

idk I love these little foreshadowing/clues we can leave for our readers

to make the twists even more powerful and meaningful

I want to second a lot of the above. A plot twist should not be completely unguessable. Because if nobody guesses it, it means to most readers it's gonna feel like it makes no sense and came out of nowhere. The goal of a true twist is to have as few people as possible guess it but then when it's revealed, the reader smacks their head going "how could I miss all these clues."

Readers predicting things usually makes me lead with "oh no, I'm predictable!!!" And then makes me thing "wait, no, it means they're picking up on the hints I've left behind." Though sometimes it's predictable, like if someone guesses the actions of the next few pages, that's less of the readers picking up on hints and more just guessing right. But guessing big plot things, j think, is a reflection that I'm making things as clear as I need to, and I'm rather fond of it

99% of the times I am delighted if they guess the plot twist. I like it when I feel like my readers are on the same page as me (pun ...maybe not intended?) and see where things are going. Since my stuff is character driven, it tells me they can read the characters and their personalities well enough. However there was this one time when I had intentionally depicted something that was not going to be the historical norm (namely the p-51 mustangs' coats of paint on a cruiser in the opening scene of my WWII webcomic Brave Resistance). A war history buff called me out on it IMMEDIATELY saying "wait, these aren't how they're supposed to be!" and nearly spoiled the entire plot on page 2! I had to DM him to tell him to tone it down, and explain to him why the planes where the way they were. He apologized and stopped, but I'd wanted to throttle him for a while there

I agree with Rebel re: the purpose of a plot twist. In that sense, though, I don't think my story even has plot twists. There is no moment anywhere in the story where I want the readers to go "how could I have missed all the clues!!!" ... On the spectrum of brainy vs hearty, my story is very close to the extreme end of hearty. Like, think of stories like The Little Prince or My Sweet Orange Tree. Even when unexpected things happen, it's never about the brilliant reveal. The most shocking thing in My Sweet Orange Tree comes out of nowhere, and it works for that book. Heart of Keol is a lot like those two in this regard. Not exactly the same, but pretty dang similar!

So back to the question, honestly? I want people to be able to guess. The usual bane of my existence is the opposite problem: people not knowing wtf is going on. My story isn't supposed to draw its strength from its surprises, so guess away (edited)

I love it when the reader guesses the gist of the plot twist a few pages just before the reveal. I sort of follow the novel structure idea that the reader should see what’s coming next right before it hits them, hence rewarding their investment in the story. Wild speculations without the clues I’ve planted are interesting. It does make me wonder if I relied too much on tropes or left too big of the crumbs. That being said, I’m not too fussed by readers predicting the general directions of the plot because it’s all about the character reactions. Could they predict that too? Maybe, to a degree. But there are a lot of subtext I try to write in my characters that give some nuances that I feel may entertain even those who guess correctly how the story would go. TL;DR: guess away. Love reading theories. The story is set so I won’t be changing anything big but perhaps layer the reveal with subtleties.

I've actually never had readers guess what's coming next. I mean, unless you count obvious, broad stuff (such as "the MCs get together"). I mean, it IS a romance. But in regards to big plot events, no one has gotten remotely close with their predictions (which kind of surprises me, because I drop clues everywhere). To be fair, I'm only a chapter in, so I guess it makes sense. But I am excited for the day when people finally guess

If anyone does pick out certian plot twists I will be like "Yesssss people do think like me, I am not crazy" XD because most of my twists are all shown from the start through hidden background things so if people found them I am excited they took time and effort to figure out twists

I love it. I haven’t been disappointed about it yet, and I don’t think I will be. It doesn’t make me change the twists at all - in fact, I’ve even shifted some story elements around to give the readers even more confirmation that they’re right, earlier on in the plot. I want to reward them with a treat, and now they can revel in their cleverness a bit longer Hee hee.

Admittedly, a lot of it is due to the nature of the medium. I know that webcomics take ages to get to major reveals or spoilers - I can wait to totally-confirm things, but I can't wait to... almost-confirm things? I don't want people to get tired or frustrated. I know I've gotten angry at anime shows that take 20 episodes to confirm something we guessed at episode 1, so I like when these things are all but confirmed early on. It can be really fun to know a secret that, maybe, the heroes don't know. It gives an extra layer of STOP, NO, DON'T GO IN THERE! in times of danger

But given my propensity to practically s c r e a m my spoilers to people who I can trust with the plot... a lot of it is just me bursting at the seams wanting to say YES YOU'RE CORRECT.

Yes! I just want to tell readers, "Oh God, you're right! Good job!" But instead I usually respond with a ":)" or "I like this analysis!" Which I think is basically just confirming it. But if it's a real life friend? I cannot resist from telling them everything. I've even spilled spoilers in this chat before, trusting that most people here haven't read my comic. Kind of backfired when I reached a major plot point and someone commented, "She's been waiting to bust out this plot point for so long." Oops, guess someone did read my forum posts. But even if I did spoil things in the comments, is it really that big of a deal? I'm the kind of person where spoilers don't detract from my experience of things and sometimes even adds to it. But some people care about spoilers, so.(edited)

Oh gosh, I agree that plot twists shouldn't be entirely out of the blue, since it's nice to have the hints that give people the crumbs to follow a trail. But like, since I write a lot of these chapters way in advance, and if I had the chance I'd love for them to be readable in one go as opposed to a page per week, I fear that I'm boring people with a predictable punchline? That being said, I get so many comments that predict the end of the chapter or the punchline or the joke. And I'm always like "haha maybe????" but inside i'm like "oh my god, they got me, THEY GOT ME"

Anyway, I love when my readers theorize! I don't believe any reader has guessed any of the major plot twists in the first two books, despite there being enough evidence beforehand to make a guess (closest was "whatever zebugu's doing, it's not evil this time" but not the specifics of what he was doing). Though, if they had, I wouldn't mind, since that's max two years they gotta wait before the reveal (and that's assuming they guess it on the cover page lol). Book 3 is a different beast - strictly speaking, there's enough evidence for someone to predict both twists at the end of the book, right now. And... that may be an issue, given that this book will take over three years to reach those twists. So... we'll see if anyone guesses them. What's weirdest is when people guess things almost correctly with absolutely NO hints. And it's some super specific and minor thing like "Mizuki is secretly the reincarnation of a thousand-year-old dragon". Like... there haven't even been dragons mentioned in the comic up to this point. Nor any events from a thousand years ago. And like, that's not exactly the truth, but how do you get THAT close???(edited)

The original question mentions “plot twists” but I’m never trying to make a plot twist personally. I may intentionally obfuscate things, but I don’t ever try to do wild twists and turns. So when a reader predicts what will happen, I actually don’t mind, and I’m pretty happy that it’s following a logical chain of events. On the other hand, when readers are totally off base, I think that’s REALLY fun.

Most of my readers feel that my comics are twisty and surprising, but I often get at least one reader who correctly guesses what will happen, even if sometimes they’re joking or think their theory is wild and out there. Honestly it feels pretty awesome to have a reader shrewd enough to puzzle out the clues, because that means they’re really paying attention. I don’t have a very big audience and most of the time they’re silent, so anytime someone leaves a comment that is carefully thought out, it makes me really happy. As for the times readers joke or wildly speculate but inadvertently hit the nail right on the head, I find those very amusing. I really love stories with well done twists and turns, and so I try very hard to execute good plot twists that have enough foreshadowing to be ‘Aha!’ moments rather than ‘Where did that even come from?’ moments. So I love when readers are both properly misdirected AND when they pick up on the clues and deduce the twist.(edited)

Does my comic have plot twists? I don't really think about it. People have correctly guessed things that will happen in a chapter, someone even guessed correctly on the climax when a character named Daniel was introduced... well, it was more like "I hope things don't turn out like -blank-!". I don't mind, just because they guessed something correctly doesn't mean they know how the story will go for sure, it just means that they're theorizing and that is something I always encourage. I don't think that means the story is boring or predictable either, some people are just really good at that stuff. Even though I don't think my comic is very mysterious/unpredictable it's still impressive when someone pays attention to all the little visual and dialogue details, then guessing correctly about a future event based on them. Nothing more flattering than someone enjoying your comic enough to analyze it.

Yeah! Even if it's not obvious most of the time movies go by a pattern or set of traits, once you learn how they go a film or TV show becomes a lot more easy to figure out right away. The only time I'm stumped is when the movie is really surreal or absolutely awful. That's the nice thing about webcomics in a way. I assume a lot of creators haven't had professional training, and we want to tell a story more than be entertaining to the masses, so stories are less predictable. They don't always go by a formula, which can be refreshing.

and now I’m going to answer some OC questions I reblogged a while back and never got around to doing until now LOL. these are gonna be for Fae first:

What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do? - not very long, she’s always gotta be doing something or she goes crazy LOL

How easy is it for your character to laugh? - VERY easy

How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?) - she falls asleep very quickly most nights, she’s just gotta put her head on the pillow and she’s out haha

How easy is it to earn their trust? - pretty easy, unless you’re a Galra :P

How easy is it to earn their mistrust? - if you do anything she deems out of line, you’re outta there buster

Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable? - she tries to adhere to most laws, unless she deems them inhumane. she’s very flexible though and will do as she’s told by her superiors

What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling? - Shiro reminds her a lot of her brother, so she’s very attached to him. she has a lot of good memories of her brother, and Shiro will often trigger those memories for her. unfortunately though, whenever anything bad happens to Shiro, that also triggers memories of the day her brother was killed so...

What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child? - she was told early on that she would have to serve the royal family one day, despite how much she wanted to be a soldier in the Altean army

Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word? - LOL yeah, her and her brother pretty much said anything and everything to each other all the time, she learned all the words from him XD

What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them? - she doesn’t really tell lies, she’s very honest. she’ll only “lie” to keep a secret for a friend or loved one

How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)? - she’ll blatantly, but politely ask for clarification, she doesn’t mess around haha

How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach? - she’ll either ask someone nearby to itch it for her, or she’ll take the end of her sword and try to scratch it LOL

What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color? - well she loves the color blue, but she normally just wears her white armor all the time. she would look very lovely in blue tho :3

What animal do they fear most? - no creature frightens her

How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first? - she speaks very clearly and isn’t afraid to speak her mind (unless she thinks it’ll hurt the person’s feelings). she really only stammers a bit when she gets flustered around Keith LOL

What makes their stomach turn? - pointless deaths and stories of betrayals...

Are they easily embarrassed? - nope, not at all. again, she only gets flustered around Keith, but I don’t think she’d ever get outright embarrassed

What embarrasses them? - see above answer

What is their favorite number? - 5 because she loves the five paladins LOL

If they were asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would they do so? - she would say that romantic love is something you feel in your chest or your stomach, platonic love is felt in your entire soul :3

Why do they get up in the morning? - because her sworn duty is to protect Princess Allura at all costs

How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)? - she tries to brush it off and ignore it, but she’s actually fuming inside LOL

How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)? - she tries to be happy with what she has, but if she ever did get envious of someone, she’d just pout and whine a little about it :P

Is sex something that they’re comfortable speaking about? To whom? - she’s only ever really talked about it with Allura, and she’ll talk with Allura about literally anything

What are their thoughts on marriage? - she would LOVE to get married someday, as long as she’d still get to serve Allura

What is their preferred mode of transportation? - whichever Lion Keith is piloting atm ;)

What causes them to feel dread? - whenever her loved ones lives are at stake

Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth? - no, she’d rather be told something straight to her face than sugarcoating it

Do they usually live up to their own ideals? - she tries to, yes

Who do they most regret meeting? - Zarkon...

Who are they the most glad to have met? - Allura and the paladins

Do they have a go-to story in conversation? Or a joke? - she loves to tell stories of the antics her and her brother used to get into together. her and Allura have some inside jokes too LOL

Could they be considered lazy? - absolutely NOT

How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt? - very hard, she blames herself for a lot of things...

How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive? - she is the most supportive person you will ever meet :3

Do they actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into their lap? - her focus is solely on protecting Allura at all costs, she’s in no rush to settle down or anything like that

Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)? - she has a great memory, she just remembers things without any issues whatsoever LOL

What memory do they revisit the most often? - the day she became friends with Allura and also the day her brother died...

How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people? - she tries to see the good in all people, even the Galra to a certain degree

How sensitive are they to their own flaws? - very much so, she refuses to have flaws of any sort and tries to ignore them

How do they feel about children? - SHE LOVES KIDS OMG

How badly do they want to reach their end goal? - she doesn’t really have an “end goal” aside from wanting to help take down the Galra Empire, her main focus will always be about protecting Allura

If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so? - uhhh she’d probably just laugh and say “what importance does knowing that hold? I like who I like, isn’t that enough?” XD

A) Why are you excited about this character? - she’s super fun and adds another layer to the Voltron cast in a positive way imo B) What inspired you to create them? - my initial OCs for fandoms always evolve from self-inserts, so this is just how she turned out! C) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story? - not really, I knew I wanted her to be Altean from the start, so I just made her Allura’s bodyguard to make sense of why she’d be there at all LOL D) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look? - I only really had issues designing her hair, but I’ve kept the same design for her that I initially gave her so yeah E) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you? - oh yes, I’d love to be her friend, and I would hope she’d enjoy my company too! we’d just sit and laugh at everything together LOL F) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)? - she makes me really happy, she’s such a fun character :3 G) What trait of theirs bothers you the most? - the fact that she bottles up all her negative feelings and emotions and doesn’t let anybody know when she’s struggling or going through a rough time :c H) What trait do you admire most? - she’s super confidant and physically strong, what I wouldn’t give for that haha I) Do you prefer to keep them in their canon universe? - yes, but she could fit into other similar universes, like Star Wars or Tron (especially if it’s an AU with the other Voltron characters) J) Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character? - well yeah, I mean, I kinda had to. her being another living Altean directly involved with Allura would change the canon a lot... not too much, but enough that it would be a noticable difference. I try to work all my OCs into the canon as best as I can without altering the story too much

I recently got it cut so it is a little bit longer than my shoulders, I sometimes have straight across bangs, but sometimes they are swept to the side. It depends how they sit after my shower~

The color is some kind of medium brown color that almost seems gold in the sunlight sometimes idk

3- What color are your eyes?

Green/blue~

4- Do you wear glasses?

Yup, my glasses are red!

Nope

I have a couple different clothing styles I think. Like, I will wear oversized sweaters... but I also like to swear skirts and dresses if it isn’t too cold out~

I have a thousand freckles and several moles and stuff all over the place. I honestly hated them when I was growing up but I’ve kind of grown to not really care anymore. I think they make me unique, so I accept them.

I live in Idaho! :D Thats still so crazy to me haha

I have three younger sisters.

Not presently.

I was a very responsible student. I loved to learn, I honestly really miss school x_x but I can’t even imagine trying to do that as well as pay all my bills.

Tumblr, Drawing, Writing, and I DO enjoy reading although I haven’t had a whole lot of time to do so lately.

Eh.

Honestly my family is not that great. They are extremely manipulative and toxic, which is one of the many reasons that I left in the first place.

I feel like part of the reason I want to have a family of my own so badly is because of how I never felt like my family was actually a family.

During gatherings or any kind of event, my step dad would put on such a fake face. He would act like a completely different person and that just made me feel so sick.

And then when we would get back home, or when company would leave... he would immediately revert to his usual assholish self and it was really an amazing transformation.

I want to have a family.

I feel like this is part of the reason Fairy Tail is so important to me, HA

Hah. Yeah. Well, my mother and step father wouldn’t approve of somebody who was different from them (mostly my step dad in that regard) So unless he is heavily Catholic it would be a no-go for them.

Unfortunately for them... idgaf. I actually prefer agnostics, THANK YOU :p

That way we wont have conflicting beliefs when it comes to raising the kids and I think that's extremely important.

I seriously don’t know why I always have such a hard time on this question? I love so many colors for so many different reasons!

I love pink because its lovely

Hiveswap Episode 1 Reaction Part 4: Talking to Jude + Exploring the hallway!

Alright, day 4 of playing Hiveswap Episode 1! Time to make some progress today. First off we're gonna put the batteries in the walkie talkie, and see what happens from there! Starting at 6:35 PM.

Batteries && Walkie talkie ==> Ahahaha, yup, this is our first puzzle out of many. And it only took us, like, 6-7 hours of gameplay to get to it! :mspa: Let's see what happens when we try to use the powered walkie talkie now! I think it would be funny if Jude doesn't have his walkie talkie yet or something and it turns out nobody responds when Joey talks through it now, causing us to cut to Jude and his quest to find the walkie talkie on his side. :P Also, I wonder if we can drag any of our other items on the walkie talkie now, to still get some funny/insightful reactions about it (or maybe that will turn out to be a function later, to be capable of asking Jude about stuff?) ...Nope, can't drag other items on it anymore! Alright then, let's put the batteries in! ... Yesssss, Joey/Jude dialogue! Wow, plainWonder's got a good point! It looks like Joey's typing colour is blueish while Jude's is greenish, so they're using the colours of the shirt symbol of the OTHER person! Just like John and Jade!!!!!! Oh man that is awesome. Also... oh dear god Jude. HIS DIALOGUE IS AMAZING. First of all, I'm surprised by his quirk! Looks like he likes talking in upper caps! That's pretty unexpected. I love how his "over" is in lower caps, making it hilariously sound like he's yelling everything through the walkie talkie but then says "over" quietly. xD And yeah, his way of speaking does indeed sound a lot like someone from the army, hahaha. And while sounding so serious and formal in some parts, he also has a way of being incredibly silly ("WAIT unover", "REPORT BITE STATUS"). Hehehe, that reference to not understanding morse code. I love how people not understanding it continues to be a thing in the Homestuck universe. Oooooh, and here we already have a choice on what to answer Jude!!! I didn't expect that to happen so soon. So, we can either give a serious answer ("i'm fine") or a more funny one ("not great"). I wonder if that will impact anything. Let's go with "i'm fine". Oh okay, apparently Joey heard the monster go downstairs! So that means it's probably not that dangerous anymore for her to exit her room (well, unless it comes back of course :p). Also, I just want to say I love the adorable animation of Joey talking into the walkie talkie. And plainWonder's got a good point: they did a really nice and accurate job with having the Joey speechbubbles coming from the lower part of the walkie talkie and the Jude speechbubbles coming from the upper part! Yup, it's safer for Jude to stay in the tree house for now. Oh dear god, he's already starting with the conspiracy theories right there. xD Though... I'm not sure if he's wrong! We have no idea where the monsters are coming from, maybe someone with an agenda (Condesce???) IS sending them to their house. And either this person WANTS Joey to go to Alternia for some reason, or they're there for some other reason. "Antares-class conspiracy"... what? No seriously, what? :mspa: I imagine none of the options here makes a difference whatsoever, hahaha. "GLAD YOU ARE TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY" Umm, all Joey said was "what. over." xD Heh, Jude asking Joey if she's less sceptic now that monsters are appearing reminds me of Jane's scepticism! I mean, it was also seeing the Condesce flying overhead that finally made her believe her friends too, despite Roxy trying so hard to convince her. Oh wow, Jude's suggesting Joey to abscond to the attic! That's surprising. I didn't think they'd come up with going to the attic so soon already! Though it actually makes a lot of sense, the attic should be the highest part of the house and should be the safest place to hide from the monsters, so that's some good thinking of Jude. Also, I just want to say that I appreciate that "absconding" is also a thing in Hiveswap and not just in Homestuck. :D Oooh, so it has a strong door and some tactical materiel. Makes sense! Maybe Jude had already prepared the attic as a hiding place for emergency scenarios? I mean, you've got doomsday preppers in real life doing exactly that with their basement, so I wouldn't be surprised if Jude did the same with the attic. plainWonder's got a good point that it might also have a lot of stuff of Grandpa that Joey could use! I mean, he IS the guy that also prepared Jade to ridiculous lengths, so he might have done the same with his other children. :P I love how Jude goes on to explain how to get to the attic. It's pretty ridiculous from Joey's perspective but helpful from ours, haha. I wonder if it's really that easy to get to the attic? Like, do you not need to explore the rest of the house to get to Alternia? In any case, turning left outside the bedroom and exploring the house is exactly what we are going to do. :P N'awww, poor Jude. I like that this shows how much he actually cares about Joey and just wants her to be safe. OH SHIT. Here we can make Joey suggest to Jude to either call the cops, OR call the babysitter! Both are some really clever suggestions. Obviously calling the police would be the smartest suggestion here, but knowing Jude he probably wouldn't trust the cops. Plus, the cops might not believe Jude anyway, they could think it's just some crazy fantasy of a young kid. So, calling the babysitter would probably be the option Jude's most comfortable with, and would also be the COOLEST from our perspective (I mean come on, we all want to see some Mom dialogue and/or action here, don't we?). I mean, I find it highly likely that Mom won't (be able to) come over for one reason or another, but that still doesn't stop me from wanting to try. :mspa: Let's try that suggestion! (Also, does Jude even have a phone up there? If he doesn't, I wouldn't be surprised if the only phone is somewhere in the house and the monsters have already bitten through the telephone cables by now, preventing Joey/Jude from being capable of calling anyone) WELP, Mom's having a long day at work in the lab!!! Confirmation that she's already working for Skaianet?? If so, she's probably already working at the same Skaianet lab that we know from Homestuck! I mean, considering the suggestions that Mom grew up there, it seems highly likely that this is also the lab were she started working first! I should also address that this is probably our first ever official confirmation that Mom works at a lab (probably Skaianet)? I mean, the writing was literally on the wall what with her lab coat dress and her child room in the Skaianet lab, plus Roxy's interest in science, but still! Now it's been spoken! Booyeah! "JOEY: oh no, you're right... JUDE: AGREED ON BOTH COUNTS." Pfff, oh Jude. xD "JUDE: BABYSITTER CAPABLE STRIFER, COULD HELP TIP SCALES" Ooooooh, so Mom was already a capable fighter at such a young age! That's interesting. And it's also interesting that Jude knows about that! Perhaps she practiced some kind of fighting sport and talked about that to Jude and Joey sometime? I mean, I find it highly likely that she practiced some kind of fighting sport, considering her hand-to-hand combat skills in [S] Jack: Ascend! Also, I like how the word Strife(r) has now also been spoken! Hell yes. "JUDE: DO YOU HAVE YOUR WEAPON over" Oh man, what is her weapon? The tap shoes? The ballet shoes? The iconic flashlight (which we haven't seen yet)? Something else entirely? I wonder if Joey even HAS any weapon or fighting skills. "JOEY: what weapon? you mean my OLD weapon? what for?" Errrr, OLD weapon? I wonder what she means by that! "JOEY: you want me to fight them? with my flashlight?" BOOYEAH, confirmation! But uh... in what way does a flashlight serve as a weapon? I mean... it wouldn't even help to blind the monsters, CONSIDERING THEY DON'T HAVE ANY EYES. :mspa: "JUDE: MUST BE BRAVE" "I believe in you" incoming? YUP. YOUR BROTHER BELIEVES IN YOU. Oh hell frickin YES. I love that Jude has taken the same habit as Jake/Grandpa, hahaha. "JUDE: DO YOU RECALL WHERE WEAPON IS over?" Pffffff, we can't even answer anything but "yeah", hahahahaha. Well, WE don't know where it is, goddangit. xD Looks like we'll have to find it for ourselves. "JUDE: yeah, it's in the closet." Oh!!!! Wait... the closet with the Simon Says game? Well, we did only see a small part of it, so maybe the flashlight is a bit more to the left? Or is it in the wardrobe? "JOEY: no, it's in the hall closet." WELP, NONE OF THE ABOVE! Well, at least she was planning on leaving the room anyway. I wonder if the hall closet is close to her room or if we have to walk a bit before we reach it? Alright, the conversation is over! And N'AWWWW, her entire idle animation has changed! She no longer looks so scared and frightened, now she looks pretty relieved, now that she knows Jude's okay! D'awww. I was wondering if perhaps the narration would say something differently now if we tried looking outside the window at the tree hut again, and it did! Yeah, it's better for Jude if he stays up there, where he's safe for now. Ahahaha, I was also wondering if we could use the walkie talkie again to talk some more to Jude, and we could! Joey says she intends to write in her diary! Will we really be "forced" to do that before we leave the room, or if it's still optional? And will he say the same thing if we try to reach him again now... Yup, he did. Let's see what happens if we try to leave the room... Okay, looks like we'll have to write in the diary! But pffffff, amazing reference to Alternia's green moon right there. Ooooooh, after we write in the diary we get a new exclamation mark at the walkie talkie! Hehe, looks like we'll get some new dialogue... Ahahahahaha, that's the most hilarious dialogue so far. I love how they are indeed not actually "hanging up here", unlike what usually happens in Homestuck with the pesterlogs and all where they stop pestering, hehe. Also, apparently Jude can already see Joey! So either he doesn't need binocles or he's already got them. ...Now that I think about it, the fact that he's capable of seeing Joey in her room kind of reminds me of how in Sburb the server players could also see the client players in their room/houses, haha! Oh man, I was curious what would happen if we'd try clicking on the walkie talkie again, but apparently that does nothing now! So we can't receive any silly Jude-Joey dialogues whenever we like, unless it's triggered by something. :P There we are!!!! Now we're FINALLY OUTSIDE JOEY'S ROOM! :D And looks like the music has changed. That's a REALLY cool song there. Pretty catchy and mysterious-sounding! But wow... that's a preposterous amount of stuff in this hallway. 0_0 At least we don't have like 5 possible combinations of items on everything here anymore, we've only got the Cherub Key and the tap shoes, haha. So, that hallway in the background is probably the direction we'd need to go to go to the attic! So, that's exactly what we WON'T do, for now. I find it interesting that there are also some golden serpent (I mean snake) statues over there, in the background. Those skulls hanging on the wall are also really interesting. They remind me a bit of the Mother Grub skull (like the Skull Fountain). Hmm, over there in the background is a crutch! I wonder who that belonged to, it seems a bit too big to be of Joey or Jude. One of Grandpa or Ms. Claire? That hat in the box reminded me a bit of Grandpa's hat, but plainWonder's probably right that it's a Conquistadore hat. Oh dear god no.... that painting right above the couch... IT HAS A FRICKIN COD PIECE. D: MOVIN' ON. Well, now that we're at that couch, looks like there's some toy rifle on it. What with how red it is, it reminds me of Roxy's Betty Crocker rifle! Pfff, I like how they're using that statue as some sort of coat rack. Also, I see a pack of Pringles there, but it doesn't look like the name on it is Pringles. Probably another cheap rip-off. xD I just also noticed those those 6 paper figures on Joey's door! The two on the right pretty clearly seem like Grandpa and Mom to me, but who are those other 4? Joey and Jude are two of them probably? And are the other 2... Ms. Claire and the mother of Jude? :O Oh man I hope we can examine these little figures in more detail. And of course I've been saving the best/weirdest for last... what the fuck is the deal with that Sufferer doll am I right? 0_0 Again, the only logical explanation is that The Condesce is probably responsible for that, seeing as she should be the only person who visited B1 Earth that should have knowledge about him. It's kinda weird that she did this then, considering how she tried to wipe references to him in any textbooks, but I guess she probably just couldn't resist the urge to make fun of him. :P Yesssssss, WE CAN EXAMINE THE DOOR FROM UP CLOSE! ...Oh. Okay, so it was Tesseract instead of Jude's mother, hahaha! Also, Tesseract was actually the figure I thought was Grandpa from afar. xD Oh yeah, what I noticed earlier but hadn't written anything about yet is how Mom also has the cat symbol on her shirt! So it's not just Roxy who wore it on her shirt, she did as well! That's interesting to know. I wonder if Nanna, Grandpa and Bro ever wore a shirt like the ones Jane, Jake and Dirk wear in B2? Niiiiiiiiice, look at all those pictures! First of all, some pictures taken by Joey, Jude and Mom at a photo booth, it seems! Pffff, first Joey and Jude took a normal picture, then Joey kicked Jude out and Mom came in to go on the picture with both of them. That's adorable. It took us a while to figure out what that picture on the left was supposed to be, but plainWonder's right, it's probably the legs and feet of Mom, Joey and Jude! Looks like the 3 of them were relaxing somewhere, n'awww. :) And if we look really closely, Tesseract seems to be lying on his back in the background! D'awwww. Good dog, best friend (pretty funny, considering how Mom is more of a cat person than a dog person, hehe) Hehe, I love how Tesseract seems happy to see that cat. xD I took a closer look at that picture for a second, because I wanted to make sure the cat had only 2 eyes instead of 4. I mean, it's implied that Mutie survived the fall in B1 and gave birth to Jaspers! Which makes me wonder... could this be offspring of Mutie that would eventually give birth to Jaspers, meaning there was a link in between the two? Or perhaps this cat is Jasper's mother, who even knows. :P Now I'm really curious if we're going to see a picture at some point of Mom together with a black cat on it! Alright, enough examining the door, moving on! Let's listen to what Joey and Jude have to say to each other. Pfffffff, Jude just can't shut up can he? I love how he's using some of the same corny words like Jake does, with "hoo boy" and "landing in a pickle", haha. Also, I just realized it's kind of like how Jake can't stop talking about himself, hahaha. Ahahahaha, I was wondering what that golden globe-like structure with the arrow through it was. Looks like it points to where the ceiling is, now that's really useful. :mspa: Another cute animation as Joey spins the globe, d'aww. Looking at the horse picture now. Pffffff, do Joey and Jude deface all paintings to have an argument? xD Tap shoes && Golden globe ==> Pffff, yes Joey, that's obviously what it is. :mspa: I'm pretty curious what the deal is with that chest... I bet we'll probably have to find the key for that somewhere? ...Aaaaah, okay it's her mother's jewelry box! Makes sense. And okay, it really is just Pringles, not a fancy rip-off name. xD But Joey, that can doesn't really look all that empty to me. :P Cherub Key && Jewelry chest ==> Oh wow! Other than some more expected information about how Joey find the key there, apparently doing this also opens up the chest! I definitely didn't expect that. Let's see what's inside! ....Okay, that doesn't work. Nevermind. :mspa: Oh man... now the Sufferer doll. Do I want to know what happens when we examine it? ...OH. OOOOOOOOOOOH. OH YOU BRILLIANT BASTARDS. Jude shot it with a dart just like Darkleer shot The Sufferer with an arrow, goddammit. >.< Cherub Key && Sufferer doll ==> Believe me Joey, I think the Sufferer wants to get out of those chains more than you think. xD Ahahaha, so Joey and Jude had a dart gun war there. I read the chapter! One of the things that immediately stood out to me was Shuu’s design, because it really shows how much it’s changed since the first series (he looks so pretty(?) now. Look at those eyes (down for the count and I’m drownin’ in 'em)).

As for Naki, my boy. The moment I saw him using a freaking PROVERB I think I teared up a little.

But obviously, the one thing he will never learn is Shuu’s name.

And that ending…since it’s the 'king’ it should be Ken, right? But if it is, there’s definitely something wrong (I mean just look at the last panel). When did he get back? Where’s Touka? What has he been doing? I mean, from the spoilers, some fans were guessing that was actually Arima and that’s possible now with the whole 'bring back the dead’ thing, but I don’t think it’s him. For one thing, Arima’s story had a heartbreaking ending, but it was satisfying…it was a clean, simple conclusion. I feel like it wouldn’t be a good idea to mess that up, since it would just makes things that much more complicated. It would also be cruel to Arima because COME ON, he chose his own death because that was the best option for him and he died happy! WHY would you make him do it all over again?!

And weirdly, this chapter is like 'lol Touken? what Touken?’ like the last few chapters never happened. Not sure how to feel about that XD

Also Kou is adorable and if Ishida hurts him I don’t know what I’ll do.

yeah, I do know that 'Aishiteru’ is such a powerful phrase that even married couples hesitate to use it ^^ I just wanted something to compare it to. Apparently Saiko’s 'I love you’ was the same 'I love you’ she uses with the rest of the Q squad…? Idk if that’s 100% accurate though.

Wanda (Scarlet Witch) seems like the kind of person I’d get along well with though, since we’re pretty similar personality-wise but Wanda seems less sensitive than me and a bit more outgoing/willing to take charge. The reason I picked the Captain is because of out of all the avengers we have the most similar beliefs (I can talk like a nihilist at times but at the end of the day I’m probably Team Cap) and he’s got the nicest personality.

Ah, you’ll get to see Loki’s softer side in Thor 2…prepare for the feels. Also, I do recommend you watch Thor 1 sometime. You may already know the plot but Thor 1 is the only movie we actually get see Loki before he turned into a complete and utter mess. He was actually a nice guy before the daddy issues…I was planning not to watch the first movie either but after watching it I’m glad I did.

Yeah, I don’t think you have to watch anything other than the ones you’ve listed, since those seem to be the ones most involved with the main, running plot (the Infinity Stones).

Also, idk if you’ve heard, but the post-credit scenes matter A LOT in marvel movies so I suggest you try to watch all of those :)

I think I’ll try BHA if I get the time ^^ it’s easier to get into that than Love Live in Korea. Manga is more common than anime over here unless the anime in question is really popular

Souma is the purest cinnamon roll in the series. I have no idea why some people dislike him so much. Sure, he’s oblivious and a tiny bit annoying at times, but he’s a nice person and does his best. NOt to mention what happened in the recent chapters. He definitely deserves more love :)))

Armin and Luna would have reading dates 90% of the time. Also, random glomping from my side because he’s too adorable. But something I found out recently: he’s also ripped. Like, damn. It might be a consequence of his new... condition, but still.

Evans would never be a third wheel. In fact, I’m sure Luna would ditch Phichit every once in a while to talk to you hahah Tbh, from YoI, I’m not sure I’d actually date anyone, but if I had to, Phichit would be my top choice.

I am proud to say that I stayed up until 3:30am, binging on all the Avengers fics I could find and came to the conclusion that Loki is number 1 after all. Thor is nice and all, but I think I would get a tiny bit fed up with his constant obliviousness. Also, Jane. And a lot of the fics described Loki as a huge bookworm, however I’m not sure if it’s fanon or canon. Either way, I like it hahah Also, imagine the sass battles. I’m 100% sure everyone would be fed up with us hahah
