Trying to do a daily morning training walk with her while there’s no dogs. She did so great! She barked at everyone we saw, but we did 1-2-3 and by the count of 2 she’s looking at me and 3 she’s quiet. It’s amazing!
We worked with the trainer for only a couple months, but she helped us so much. I can only imagine what more training could have done. Once I get a job secured we plan to hire another trainer.
Something about having someone there with us was helpful. I knew a lot of these tricks, but just didn’t have the patience to practice them over and over and it’s hard when there isn’t a stimulus. But the trainer is the stimulus (for her)
There’s a neighbor that has a dog behind a solid fence. Can’t see through it. I’m hoping we encounter it on a walk so we can sit across the street and practice. Not for a length of time that would be an annoyance. But it barked the whole time I walked the fence. So we’d be across the street hearing it and practicing.
She’s also doing much better with her arch nemesis Grace. They have played a couple of times now and while they still get jealous, a firm “lay down” while holding her harness has been enough that she isn’t flying off the couch snapping at her and they can both settle down.
Yesterday, roomie had Mel and grace sat between me and M. Once Mel was calm, roomie let her go and she snuggled up between me and grace.
Food is still an issue, but not one we’re really working on solving. Mel eats in her crate because she’ll eat their food too (so will her sister). I usually fix Mel’s food and crate her because she takes the longest to eat with her puzzle, then grace because her mom mixes it with a bunch of nutritional things, and harmony last because she’s the fastest eater. I did it backwards yesterday and Mel came over before I put graces food down, but they got mad and grace had her pinned to the floor. Ugh. I’m hoping things don’t end up escalating one day, but it seems like Mel is trying to “correct” grace (herding genes) and grace then gives warnings. Mel nips her sometimes, but I think that’s herding as well.
But overall, the two seem to be learning how to diffuse other ways. Mel will play with harmony and grace chews on her blanket. We’ve been able actually pet grace and play with her while Mel is out. We couldn’t do that a month ago. They had to be in totally different rooms.

Entity description + images below, for any that are unfamiliar with the ones listed!
Anxious Dog: Appears to anyone it's not currently hunting as a large white dog, specifically a greyhound. Seeing it from your peripheral vision shows it for what it truly is. Constantly laughs, though most can't hear it. Will act like a dog, if you treat it like one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonesworth: Once Bonesworth (named after a once-popular phone game said to be key to summoning him) has latched onto "his favourite", he's almost impossible to get rid of. Only able to be seen by the person he is currently following, Bonesworth often brings insomnia and sickness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Smile Room: A wormhole between our universe and the mouth of some sleeping, near-dead entity of unfathomable size, any abandoned room or space could become a "smile room". Anyone drawn in is decimated (much like a black hole), though it may make ambulatory hosts as a last resort.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Good Boy: Absolutely not a dog.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Angel: Those who see the angel receive visions and swear that they've been touched by divinity, despite the unique appearance of the entity. When it shows itself, witnesses swear that it's an ethereal being not of this world, though the marks it leaves behind say otherwise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Man in the Red Room: People who dream him insist it's a man. Not much is known. The red room is his prison, the specifics of which tends to change depending on the person. Always dirty and empty. He can reach out while people dream. He needs us. He is trying to escape.
Tumblr media
The Needle: A cryptid seen in small cities and rural towns across the Midwest. Often seen clambering through the trees, giving a lucky hunter just enough time to snap a blurry photo. The unlucky ones are found pinned to the trees, their skin loose and sagging.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Piecemeal Men: They think they're from the government. Small men in hats and coats, like a paranoiac's dream. If they decide you owe, they will get into your house each night and take a piece of you, pulling rusted saws and knives from beneath their coats, until you are gone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Smile Owls: Carnivorous and predatory hunters that work together to take down larger prey. Very adept at mimicry, often learning and repeating snippets of words and phrases from stalking previous kills to use as bait later.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Clatter: Lonesome entity made of discarded antlers of all shapes and sizes. Haunts rest stops, hunting blinds, and tourist traps in secluded woodsy areas. It’s named after the horrendous noises it makes when it moves, and its cry is like the wind blowing through bones.

your plushies are so cute!! how did you get into plushie making?
So funnily enough, I'd say that the pandemic was my big catalyst for getting into plushmaking!
Before 2020, I'd occasionally make a small plushie or doll of a character I was fixating on at any given time. But it was never my "thing" until said pandemic year. Sometime before the pandemic I started making a Siren Head plush, which I promptly set aside due to my interest and motivation faltering. But since we were in lockdown and wouldn't be leaving the house for some time, I decided to pick up the project again and finish it. Once I'd finished the plush, I realized that it was quite fun! So I made another one. And another. And another.
After that point I just kept getting more and more ideas, and now plushmaking is probably my most distinct creative outlet!
As a little bonus to your question, here are a few plushies I'd consider as major milestones in my creative journey:
Tumblr media
Pictured here is Siren Head, legendary cryptid created by artist Trevor Henderson, and catalyst for my constant plushmaking endeavors. Along with Bridgeworm and The Anxious dog, also Trevor Henderson creations as well as early plushies of mine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next is Bangle, instead of being based off an existing character he was based off a small dragon I occasionally drew when I was younger. He definitely solidified my interest in plushmaking.
Tumblr media
Lastly we have Fredbear, based off a Five Nights At Freddy's character. He's a little more recent than the others I've shown here, but he played a big role in shaping my current style of plushmaking.
Sorry if this answer was a bit wordy and rambling, but thank you so much for asking!! I always greatly appreciate when someone takes an interest in my art projects! I hope this answer was what you were looking for :)

Needed something positive. We have a visitor pup at the home and our reactive dog is, of course, being reactive haha.
The first day was tough because i wasn’t home and she was getting yelled at a lot 😞😞 but I told M how we could be training her with positive reinforcement and how the goal is for her to just associate new dog=happy and not for her to like the Dog.
Visitor pup is blind and deaf so she makes for a great training friend as long as we make sure Melody doesn’t make contact. The difference between yesterday and today is like night and day.
Right now Melody is gated in the kitchen while visitor pup roams and my girl is QUIET and just watching. I am so proud of her!!!! She couldn’t even look at her two days ago without losing her mind.
Attaching a video of her being so good and calm. She’s never been this close to a stranger dog before since her anxiety started!

The majority of dogs, like people, experience anxiety from time to time. It’s a common emotional reaction. Some dogs, on the other hand, are more stressed than others. Dog anxiety affects all breeds, yet it differs from one dog to the next. The good news is that you have a variety of options for assisting your puppy through difficult times. It’s also in their best interests to assist them in managing their Anxiety before it increases or becomes a chronic illness.
