SORNETTES fanzine - édition artisanale sur les FOLKLORES,

Je suis en train de finir les coutures de ce zine que j'ai choisi d'éditer et fabriquer avec un design hybride inspiré des chimères ! Il rassemble presque 30 contributeurices dans 80 pages de grandes légendes ou petites coutumes, de rituels populaires, d’us et croyances locales avec un dossier entier sur l’eau et les fluides … Sous forme de créations visuelles, témoignages, et articles-recherche, pour une anthrop̶u̶n̶k̶logie sérieusement amatrice. Après des centaines d’heures de mise en page, coordination, insomnie migraineuse, impressions casse-tête et façonnage trop ambitieux par rapport à mes moyens … je suis heureuse de présenter enfin cette tarante de papier ! 👹 SOMMAIRE Histoires d’eaux vives & fluides troubles, créatures de crue, esprits colocataires qui n’aident pas à payer le loyer, crânes dans leurs boites peintes, ode à la magie locale, cloches fouettées pour avoir sonné la révolte, sourcières, horde sauvage, portrait d’une plante d’Artémis, marionnettes, dahu, ville engloutie & +. 🔔 J’ai écrit un très dense article de nerd sur les cloches et grelots qui me passionnent depuis tj + une mise en garde sur l'instrumentalisation identitaire et capitaliste des folklores, des articles sur les monstres des crues, l’ethnobotanique …

Édité à 140 exemplaires dans une édition non-calibrée de 80 pages,  imprimé en riso & jet d’encre sur toutes sortes de papiers, reliure cousue artisanale. Dispo pour 8€ à la soirée de sortie ce vendredi, et bientôt dans les distros locales.

When I was working on my piece for this I redid it so many times I almost lost count. Digital, no gouache, back to digital, no watercolour! I just wanted it to be *perfect* so I kept trying. I may still feel like a bit of an imposter that got to hang with the cool kids, I know that I did my very best 🥰

Copy Machine Manifestos: Artists Who Make Zines is the first exhibition dedicated to the rich history of five decades of artists’ zines produced in North America. Since the 1970s, zines—short for “fanzines,” magazines, or self-published booklets of texts and images, usually made with a copy machine—have given a voice and visibility to many operating outside of mainstream culture. Artists have harnessed the medium’s essential role in communication and community building and used it to transform material and conceptual approaches to art making across all media. This canon-expanding exhibition documents zines’ relationship to various subcultures and avant-garde practices, from punk and street culture to conceptual, queer, and feminist art. It also examines zines’ intersections with other mediums, including collage, craft, film, drawing, painting, performance, photography, sculpture, and video. Featuring over one thousand zines and artworks by over one hundred artists, Copy Machine Manifestos demonstrates the importance of zines to artistic production and its reception across North America.
