WHY does no one think camila would be super active in her kids' lives!!!!! that she would just immediately dip from the demon realm and not go back unless necessary!!!!! she's not gonna pull a greg universe and step away from one of the most important parts of her kids' lives just because she's uncomfortable with magic!!!! shes a Noceda!!!!!
she would become good friends with all the adults in luz & vee & hunter's lives. she visits the boiling isles several times a week and hosts big family dinners at her house where she invites all of her kids' friends and parents and teachers. her home is always open to any of her kids' friends or parents, whether they need a shoulder or a friend or a break or a hot meal or even just homework help. she babysits king whenever she can find the time to and he starts calling her "mamila" and no, it doesnt make her choke up every time.
she makes a penstagram account with a cosmic frontier reference for her username to keep in close contact with her new friends and she actually knows how to use it better than hunter does. she's the first person alador goes to when he needs advice about being a parent. she has a permanent offer to stay at the owl house or at alador's home whenever she needs. she meets with gilbert, harvey, perry, steve, and raine for brunch every sunday morning.
she and principal bump meet and he is absolutely honored to meet her and he gives her the opportunity to give extracurricular after school lessons at hexside about the human version of beast-healing. she does a single lesson once a month, but does open up the chance for one or two older kids at a time to shadow her at her vet clinic for a day as a little field trip (viney always gets herself at the top of the list and becomes well known around the clinic) and she is lovingly teased by her co-workers for always picking up "strays".
she is one of the people on scene during the gathering of the guards who had all been murdered by their own creator and left to rot in the dark for decades. she doesn't have the strength in her to be one of the ones collecting the remains of all these men and boys who once had her son's face, but she stands by hunter's side and keeps him from falling to pieces and they help make sure all the golden guards all finally given a chance for peaceful rest.
she helps gus with preparing the curriculum for his classes on the human realm in eda's new school. she is there at all of the emerald entrails' flyer derby matches and wears green face paint to every single one and cheers the loudest. she's the one who takes amity to her meeting with the dean of the university of abominations when alador gets fireflu and is stuck in bed. she is the one who figures out hunter's never had a proper birthday party and quickly remedies that.
she meets the elder clawthornes and absorbs every piece of wisdom they give her as if they were her own grandparents. she learns palisman care from dell clawthorne so she can better take care of stringbean whenever luz leaves her palisman with her mom. she gets roped into learning how to carve wood by hunter during the start of his apprenticeship under dell & the bat queen.
her name ends up in the history books of the boiling isles, and not just for being known as the mother of luz the human. she becomes known for being the reason of the sudden boom in witches who focus in beast-healing and the reinvention of the entire industry on the boiling isles. she is known as one of the first people to rediscover and establish contact and fight for the protection of all the basilisks scattered across the boiling isles, who were previously thought to be extinct.
she would NOT just stand by and watch her children come and go between realms with her house serving as the port but not the embassy. she was once that very child, caught between what felt like different worlds, feeling as if she might be forced to choose one or the other because her parents were too uncomfortable with what felt like half of her soul. she would refuse to let luz, vee, or hunter feel as if they have to angle those halves away from her so they dont have to watch her wince at them.
camila noceda would make an effort to make the demon realm a part of herself, too, so that no matter where her kids settled themselves down in the future, they would still always feel at home with her.

I kinda got sidetracked whilst designing nimbus’s outfit for the battle of the bands… so here’s this meme that’s canon to the au and took me longer than I would like to admit,
Tumblr media
*UNHOLY SCREECHES*
Peep that Amity design for the au because I’m so proud of it
but anyways I mentioned in one post that Pip ended up inheriting Belos’s curse but it’s not as powerful so he doesn’t fully become whatever slimy deer creature belos’s cursed form is (at this point in the au, it does get that worse later on though :/) and so currently even though Pip’s not in control of himself it’s only mildly inconvenient for the people around to deal with rather than dangerous because he mostly just steals magic objects to drain the magic out of as a snacc, sleeps and leaves slime everywhere (tbh just imagine him as if he’s a weird slimey cat) and if he does get aggressive he’s extremely easy to pick up.
the meme is basically what I imagine happened when luz and amity found out about it because its really funny to imagine that these two were planning a ‘platonic’ study date (this was before they started dating but when the both started getting feelings for each other) and just unexpectedly walking into this chaos
Also just realised I’ve completely forgotten to explain why Pip drains magic, it’s because he’s got pieces of basilisk in him as Belos when making him was attempting to figure out how to solve the whole having to drain palisman problem when they’re basically going extinct so he doesn’t have that problem when he eventually takes over Pip’s body and Belos landed on using Basilisk parts because of their magic draining properties which could be used to supply magic directly to the glyphs on their arms as my head canon of one part of Belos’s curse is that by getting soothed by eating palisman’s thing is because the glyphs on his arms are constantly using him as a power source because he doesn’t have a bile sac which is why he’s constantly rotting, the other part is that his cursed form was much less slimy because it was originally caused by Evelyn after the Caleb ordeal and became that way because of the glyphs.
Because of that Pip kinda has two different curse forms where one is the slimey rotting one which happens when he doesn’t have enough magic stored and when he does have some magic stored, his other form actually has fluff and looks more like a fucked up deer with a hint of titan on crack
I ran out of ideas ngl for the silly GH au masterpost jokes at the end of my GH posts

FANFICTION: Weasley Twins x Reader (Slytherin Girl) - Part 24
WARNINGS: frightening and intense scenes, gore, swearing
You silently cry yourself to sleep and into a nightmare.
You stand in the middle of a wood bridge that arches over a brutal, stampeding river. The air is thick with cold fog, making it difficult to see anything but the rapids beneath you. The water is deep enough that you can't see the bottom, and moves bone-crushingly fast. It absolutely terrifies you.
The bridge suddenly begins to splinter under your weight, and you fear you'll be dropped into the river if you don't act quickly. But you can't move. To escape the threat of the collapsing bridge you'd have to cross it and go into the fog, which now appears almost as equally frightening as the water. Then the fog parts toward the opposite ends of the bridge, revealing two sunny, welcoming paths to freedom. Your hopes are lifted momentarily, but there's another dilemma. Which path should you take? Then a sickening crack rings in your ears, and you're plunged into the dark, watery depths below.
Icy cold surrounds you. After the bubbles have ascended out of your vision, you search for the surface of the river, for air, but a flash of bright yellow catches your eye. You do a double take, still under the water, and find yourself puzzling over two, glowing, gold stones. They somehow remain completely parallel to each other beneath the ever rushing rapids, and they're growing larger by the second. With a horror more extreme than any sort of fear you've ever experienced, you realize that the pretty stones are not stones at all, but the eyes of a gigantic creature that's swimming toward you.
You naturally want to swim for your life, but suddenly find yourself without the ability. You've been literally petrified.
You bob helplessly under the water as the creature comes nearer and nearer, until you can recognize its terrible face as belonging to the basilisk that haunted your second year of school at Hogwarts. No, it's not possible... Harry had killed it! Indeed, a silver blade protrudes up through the monster's head. Now you notice the details of the basilisk's appearance: its scaly flesh has rotted away in some areas, revealing the cracked and yellowing bones of a snake-like skeleton. Its eyes are no longer parallel with each other; one floats loosely in the water, barely attached to the socket by a pink string of nerves. Three years ago, you thought you'd successfully made it to the end of the school year without being petrified or even killed by the monster. But, somehow, it has come back from the dead, zombified, with the sole purpose of taking you down to the grave back with it.
The basilisk opens its incredibly wide jaws, and you get a good look at the other half of the sword coming down through the roof of its mouth. Just before the decaying creature clamps its teeth down on you, you read a name engraved on the sword below the hilt: Godric Gryffindor.
Your eyes open and you roll over onto your back. You stare at the bottom of the bed above you for a couple minutes, still recovering from the awful dream you had during the night. But you don't have time to ponder. You've got to get to breakfast.
You get out of bed and slowly dress into your robes. As always, Maddy has woken up and left the room before you. You're glad of it. You don't want to have to face her again after last night. Your eyes begin to water at the memory of it, but you quickly pull yourself together... or you think you do, at least.
When you eventually get out of the Slytherin common room, you are met with Fred and George, who stand on either side of the doorway. "Good morn—" you start to say, but are cut off when the twins lean in to lay a kiss on each of your cheeks at the same time. The sweet, combined gesture is too much for your already sensitive emotions to handle, and the tears begin to well up.
The twins pull away and, seeing their smiles fade at the sight of whatever expression you are making, the dam finally breaks. You begin to cry.
"Y/n?" George says. Both him and Fred are obviously shocked. Yours was the opposite of the reaction they were expecting.
You turn to George and move towards him, asking for comfort. Though still confused, he opens his arms and you step into his embrace.
"What's happened?" Fred asks as you sob all over George's shoulder.
"I'll t-tell you at b-breakfast," you manage to hiccup.
And so you do. After you finish weeping your eyes out, the three of you head to the Great Hall, sit down at your usual table, and you tell Fred and George about everything: last night's conversation with Maddy, your rising fear of the future, and your most recent dream. All the while, the twins listen intently without taking a single bite of their breakfasts.
"Blimey," Fred mutters in disbelief.
"Do you often have such vivid dreams?" asks George.
"Yes, actually," you answer, pushing around the food on your plate with your fork in one hand and resting your chin in the other. "Ever since I was little. I almost always remember them, too." Then you sigh and shake your head. "I'm so sorry to dump all of my drama on you two."
There's a pause in the conversation as the twins contemplate your words.
Then, to your surprise, George chuckles. "If you aren't the one who's causing the drama, don't feel bad about it. That's what Mum once said to Ginny when she was in a social pickle."
"Yeah," Fred agrees. "Though she could really use her own advice sometimes if you know what I mean!"
Fred and George laugh together, and you can't help but join in. In that moment, you suddenly feel so grateful for them, for their ability to make you smile no matter the situation. But your worries won't go away that easily.
"What do you make of this... 'something is coming' bit?" you ask the twins, quoting Maddy. Fred's and George's expressions turn serious once more. They exchange a look and then glance briefly around the room to make sure no one is listening in.
Fred speaks in a hushed tone, "Something really is coming—"
"Of course there is," you cut in. "There are rumors that You-Know-Who is back. That obviously means that something is gonna happen... Such as the Ministry losing its marbles." You laugh a little too forcefully.
"But it's not like before," says George, reaching his long arm over the table to hold your hand (you hadn't realized that your hands were shaking until now). "Not like what that bastard Professor Quarrel brought in..."
"Or Tom Riddle," Fred adds. A silence falls over the three of you, and you shiver. From your second year of attending Hogwarts, it had taken months for your nightmares about the basilisk to cease, until you had that bad dream last night, of course. But you can't imagine the fear the Weasley family must've experienced, with Ginny being so involved... The twins shake their heads at the same time, as if to push the memory to the back of their minds.
"Our point is, y/n, that You-Know-Who has completely come back," Fred continues. "He's not just a spirit, or a fragment or whatever."
You stare at the table for a moment, then swallow thickly. "And Maddy is afraid that I'll get on his bad side..."
Neither of the twins have time to say anything in response before the Hogwarts bell sounds, indicating that it's time for classes to start.

accursed flesh (1/2)
PART TWO
Tumblr media
Summary: You are the only female Witcher in existence, and you are suffering because of it.
Tags: Geralt x Witcher!Reader, headcanon format, blood, death, descriptions of pain, reader implied not to be european/not petite, reader implied to be younger than the others, unedited, etc.
Word count: 2.6k
Note: this idea has been poking me, but can u blame me? the entire concept is so fascinating!! also been craving to write something in a headcanon format since its so fun and easy LMAO; also to quickly add, this takes place BEFORE the events of witcher 3, but not too far before! AND, as usual, sorry for the wonky writing/lowkey ooc-ness of the characters, this is something super self indulgent and i just wanted to get it on paper
It was a dreary winter in Kaer Morhen. The cold hit you right in the bones, deeper than a basilisk's claws.
Your body was weakening. The mutagens—they were eating you alive. Writhing under your skin, burning the blood in your body and always leaving you in a state of constant pain. And that winter frost certainly wasn’t helping.
But you tried your best to stay light—the atmosphere within the stone walls was already quite... unsavory.
Lambert was still pissy about the facial scar he’s gotten, especially since Vesemir is insistent on using it as a learning lesson.
Vesemir was also pissy because Lambert wouldn’t stop imitating him and taking his vintage hat as a prop.
Eskiel had wooed a woman—a surprise to everyone—but had then found out that not only was the woman a succubus, but one that had a vendetta against Witchers and had aimed to kill him.
And Geralt...
He didn’t divulge in the details—or anything, actually. All he mentioned was that the roads were rockier and coin was thinner and harder to come across.
You tried your best to be a positive force, but it was proving to be difficult. Especially now.
You’d failed in your quest to find an antidote to your slow degradation, and due to that failure, your body was starting to gray. Patches of skin were starting to rot.
It sounded—no, is—horrifying. But you’ve given up. And you hadn’t the heart to tell the others that—fuck, you didn’t even know if they were aware of what was happening.
Only Vesemir knew, probably. You noticed his sad stare. It sickened you.
However, at night, it was easy to pretend nothing was amiss. That everything was as it should be, because mead was thick in the men’s blood.
Eskiel was beside you, while Lambert and Geralt were sitting across the large log table. Bottles upon bottles of all types of alcohol were strewn.
You didn’t have the luxury to drink—you found it irritated your already irritated mutagens. So you settled with juice, something that drunken Lambert took note of.
“Hey... don’t tell me you’re becoming Vesemir...” he slurred before breaking to a grin. Grabbing the vintage hat he’d clearly grown fond of stealing from Vesemir, he put it on with a flick of his wrist. “‘Alcohol is a Witcher’s enemy. It steals your senses, robs you of logic—two things a Witcher needs to survive!’”
Eskiel snorted, the closest to a real laugh you’ve seen him choke out.
“Yeah, actually haven’t ever seen you drink,” Geralt spoke from Lambert’s side. His eyes were prying. “Not fond of alcohol?”
A wry smile twisted your lips. “You could say that.”
“No, wait, Geralt, your right!” Lambert’s words turned loud. “You’re totally right! I’ve never ever seen her drink either! And I’ve never met a Witcher that doesn’t fuckin’ like mead!”
“Don’t get hung up on it, Lambert. Too much thinking’ll make your head hurt.” You scoffed, taking a swing of your raspberry juice.
Lambert spluttered. Thank God he’s drunk, because if he wasn’t, you’re sure he would’ve insulted you in a way you didn’t think was possible.
“But anyway, any good things happened to you guys? Aside from cruel succubi—my condolences, Eskiel—and shitty contracts?”
“My year’s been quiet aside from that,” Eskiel muttered.
Lambert chimed in, nearly slumped over the table. “Same ‘ere, but I also met some Witchers from another school... they were assholes...”
“It’s a shame every person you meet turns out to be an asshole.” You couldn’t stop the sarcasm that laced your words, but he didn’t seem to notice, instead taking yet another bottle and clumsily pouring it into his mug.
“What about you, Geralt?—and don’t try to sell me on the ‘quiet roads’ bullshit, you’re always up to something—what king have you been fraternizing with this time?” What sorceress have you been trying to lay with lately?
Geralt paused, his face contemplative. You could imagine snapshots of memories flashing in his head, each one packed with layers of action and tension, and after a few moments of that quiet, he finally spoke.
“Can’t think of anything. Sorry.”
Before you could press him further, he turned the tables onto you.
“What about you though? You didn’t say much.”
“You didn’t say anything at all, actually.” Eskiel noted, sparing you only a quick glance before being immersed in his drink the same way Lambert was.
“I...”
You were a shit liar—the school of Wolves were all shit liars frankly, and the worst part was that they could catch those same lies too in a heartbeat.
 “Well... It’s complicated.”
“The night is young,” Geralt murmured. “We don’t have much else to do except drink.”
“Yeah... well...” Fuck.
A part of you wanted them to know, but you knew the moment they were aware of your decline, they’d do anything to try to reverse it, just as you would with them.
Again, Wolves. The school was a pack, and it would be hypocritical of you not to want them to worry if you would react the exact same.
Especially Geralt. You’d burn countries if it meant helping him.
“Been trying to fix a few things.” Were the words you settled with.
“What things? And were you able to do so?”
“Personal things, and... unfortunately not.” You stared at the contents of the mug in your hand, your reflection distorted. Uncertain. “It’s too late.”
Geralt hummed at that. “Need help?”
The words were so simple, and somehow, it left you silent, as though he asked something grand, something completely philosophical and abstract. It left you stunned, strangely—despite being confident that Geralt has your back, there’s an absurdity to it.
You’d help me?
He didn’t say anything, simply looking at you with what seemed to be a reassuring look. A silent, underlying, muted warmth. Or maybe you were just imagining it—fuck, you didn’t know what to think.
And then, it hit you:
You were going to die anyway.
Doesn’t that allow you to be a little selfish?
“Yeah, I think I need an extra set of hands.” You couldn’t look at him in the eyes. “Thank you.”
“It’s no problem at all, really.”
“Jeez, get a room—urp!” Lambert nearly keeled over. “Fuck! Is it jus’ me or is the room getting a little wonky..?”
Eskiel sighed, getting up from where he was and walking to Lambert. “Guess I need to be his caretaker again.” He grabbed Lambert, forcing him on his feet. Before he could sway and fall, he threw his arm over his shoulder. “Good night you two.”
“Good night,” you smiled.
Geralt nodded to him. “Night.”
And just like that, they were gone.
Geralt looked to you expectantly.
“I know something’s wrong. My medallion’s been humming ever since you came. Is this something to do with your issue?”
“Yeah, uh… Look, I’m not gonna mince words,” looking at him, your voice was resolute. “I’m dying. I think by the end of the winter, my spirit’ll be long gone.”
The smallest flashes of emotion that appeared on his face died seconds later.
“I thought the complications with the mutagens..?”
“They never went away—they got worse, actually.” You frowned. “I spent the year searching, and there was no antidote. It’s like—you know how your body gets influenced in certain ways by mutagens? Kind of warps your body and tissue, becomes a part of you?”
Geralt nodded.
“Your body, it sustains it—men’s body naturally do, because of muscle mass and shit like that. Biological differences. According to some druids, the only reason I got past the main steps to becoming a Witcher as a kid was just ‘cause I worked in the farm a lot more and gained more muscles due to that and genetics…” A humorless laugh tore from your throat. “Aren’t I special?”
Geralt’s eyes averted to the drink he nursed in his hands.
“But yes, because my body isn’t strong enough to sustain and create harmony with the mutagens I’ve been infused with, the mutagens became embedded in my biological matter and have become a plague that wishes to only eat at my body till there’s nothing left.”
You pulled up your thick sleeve to reveal a thick circle of rot. Your natural complexion abruptly cuts to an unnatural dark miasma of a purplish-black with the smallest veins of a deep green and a blood-red. It resembled the skin of a rotting horse carcass.
You laughed again. “To be honest, now that I say it out loud? I don’t think I need help, It’s just too late—“
“Don’t say that. I’ll help you.”
“Geralt—“
“I refuse to let you die.” His eyes burned. His face, although controlled, betrayed some emotion with how the muscles of his jaw seemed to knot, how his brows furrowed, his lips pushed downward to a bitter frown. “Why did you keep this a secret?”
Suddenly, the ‘not to worry you guys’ explanation didn’t hold water.
You knew there was a reason—there just had to be, right?—but you couldn’t find one, one that you could confidently say out loud that didn’t betray the part of your mind you’d long since exiled from your consciousness.
You smiled. “Dunno. Too many reasons, too little will.”
Geralt’s frown deepened. The look made you anxious—but not in a way that you were fearful of him—no, never, not Geralt. Never Geralt.
But rather, the anxiousness and guilt that you know you disturbed the little peace of mind he had. The comfort that coming to Kaer Morhen was meant to provide.
“We need to fix this. I’ll tell Vesemir, I’m sure he’d know something—“
“Don’t!”
“What?”
“Don’t, Geralt. Please.”
“Why?”
“Because you just can’t. This is why I didn’t want to tell you, you guys get worked up and—“
“You’re dying and you expect us—me—not to get ‘worked up’?” He said the words as though they were nonsense—as if he couldn’t detect a lick of sense behind it. “You’re rotting, and you expect me to just sit down and do nothing?”
“I—I don’t know, listen, Geralt, I don’t mind—“
“I’m not listening. This topic is over. I will help you, whether you want that help or not.”
You chewed on the skin of your lips.
His voice softened. “At dawn, we’ll meet and talk to Vesemir. I’ll make sure the other two don’t know, if you want.”
“...yeah. Thank you.”
---
It was right at dawn when you and Geralt met with Vesemir in the training hall.
Geralt was the one to provide the information of what was happening since you couldn’t seem to find the verbal coherence to do so yourself.
When he finished, Vesemir sighed deeply.
“I simply wish you’d come to me sooner, child.”
Your ears burned but you maintained your poker face. Child.
“Can you show me the... ‘rot’?”
You obliged, revealing the festering rot your left arm.
Although it was just a small movement—almost imperceptible—you noticed the way his eyes widened the slightest bit.
You were completely fucked if it took Vesemir of all people by surprise.
“I’ve never seen anything like this...”
“At least I’ll leave a mark on history in my own way: ‘first female Witcher, dies of perpetual rot!’ Hope my name’s the label for this illness.”
Vesemir ignored you. So did Geralt, but you weren’t blind to the quick glance he gave you. “I can only think of one way that could perhaps cease—or better yet, reverse this, and it’s if we can pry the mutagens out of your body.”
"That’s impossible. Doesn’t the Trial of Grasses make it impossible to do that?”
“Yes, unfortunately... but there’s hope. Perhaps the mutagens you have now could be swapped with a weaker set, letting your body overpower and take control.”
“And how’d we do that?”
Vesemir paused.
Geralt was the one to speak, and he spoke slowly. Quietly. “Another Trial of Grasses..?”
“No, no, no—fuck no.” You stepped back, glaring at Geralt. “I’d rather die than go through that again!”
Geralt crossed his arms, brows furrowed slightly. “I doubt it would work… her body’s grown and the mutagens had long since become ingrained in her, right?”
Vesemir frowned, nodding. “Yes, but it’s the only way.”
“I’m not doing this. You’re not gonna make me do this. There’s no way in any circumstance you’ll make me commit to this. No. Don’t even try.”
“Then you have any ideas?” Geralt glared at you. “Because I’m not just gonna let you die.”
“Fuck if I know! Look, I don’t mind, at all! It’d be nice to die on my bed than in battle—“
“Don’t be selfish!” He snapped. “You’re not gonna die. Not now, not in a hundred years.”
Conviction bled in his words. You fell silent.
He turned to Vesemir once more. “Are you sure there aren’t any alternatives? Something less intensive?”
Vesemir rubbed his chin with a hand. “I can think of something, but it’s requires a lot more time—forming a pact with someone with equal or greater power—someone who has the same or similar mutagens to hers.”
“So I gotta find a basilisk and form a pact with it? To be honest, I don’t want my soul companion to be the same things I’m meant to slay—“
“I’ll do it.”
Your brain froze for a second.
You glanced at Geralt.
“What?”
“I’ll form a pact with you, if you’d like—better than a basilisk, right?”
“You’d do that?” With someone like me?
A small smile pulled at his lips for a second.
Your heart twisted in deep warmth, and for a second in time, the impenetrable cold and gloom of your mind bathed in that momentary spark.
Vesemir clasped his hands together. “That’s perfect! If this goes as according to plan, the rot should at least cease the festering—hopefully, it even heals over! But right now, let’s focus on the pact—both of you, draw some blood.
Geralt took the dagger hung at his waist and drew a quick line of blood on the palm of his hand.
He offered you the blade. You took it gratefully.
Drawing a line for yourself on your hand, you nodded to Vesemir. “Done.”
“Now both of you, hold hands.”
You did as instructed, taking Geralt’s hand and clutching it tightly. It was warm. You couldn’t look at him in the eyes.
Though you could’ve sworn you heard a breathless laugh from him.
“Now, two of you, repeat after me: ‘with time shall it come, chimes of dark bells, synchronous melody that forms two into One. We shall become One.’”
In tandem, you and Geralt echoed the words.
A beat later, something strange took over you; an out of body experience, something that seemed to rip you of your senses for a moment and left you breathless—as if your body was robbed, and your spirit was all that was left to exist.
In that same beat, pieces of your mind seemed to snap into something foreign, something completely unfamiliar—feelings, memories, thoughts, ideas... they changed, eclipsed into a thing both familiar but distant. Icy but full of warmth.
And, instantaneously, the pains of your body—they ebbed, weakened, and diminished.
The pain was dead. The ache scrubbed clean from your limbs. You were whole.
When you regained your bearings, you couldn’t stifle the giddy laugh that jumped out your throat, the newfound energy coursing through you like that of a mountain’s great river. “Fuck that feels good, I actually feel my age!”
Vesemir pointed to something. “Your arm, child. It’s...”
You look down to your left arm.
It’s miraculously healed—skin smooth and in full color.
You grin became impossibly bigger. “Oh my God!” You turned to Geralt who had seemed to have regained his senses. “Thank you Geralt, thank you so, so, so much!”
He smiled. It struck warmth in you, and at that moment, you were sure he felt it too.

sometimes I see you on my dash and I'm like "wow these posts are pretty good but I dont remember why I followed this person" and then I load up my dwarf fort with my beloved hippogryphs
YEAAAAH im glad you like them! the hippogriffs and griffons are two of my absolute favorite creatures, so im very biased to them :) (also glad that you can tolerate my other post lol)
i suppose on that topic, it gives me a good excuse to show off the last 6 beast/giant variants going into the mods since i already finished all their sprites.

first up is the stymphalian bird! it's a small bird with feathers composed of bronze. they're docile by nature but are capable of shooting out their metal feathers to attack their predators
...on the other hand there's the giant variant, which is vicious by extension of living in savage lands
Tumblr media
speaking of giant variants, there's 5 other ones being added
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(griffon, fae dragon, bicorn, warg (it's default sprite was changed and the old sprite repurposed), and chimera)
the other brand new creatures are:
Tumblr media
owl bear, a large carnivore with claws capable of slashing through metal. inspired by the cool looking owl bears from baldur's gate 3 that i saw when a friend was streaming the game. can be war trained if tamed
Tumblr media
basilisk and mandrake
the basilisk are aggressive carnivores which possess a gaze that can turn their prey to stone, similar to the gorgons. unlike the gorgon's stare though, supposing their victim doesn't die while in statue form, they will return to normal after an in game week (they dont require food/water/breathing while afflicted)
Mandrake are small plant creatures who live rarely in underground lakes, where they 'breed' by planting their seeds in the ground. upon death they drop their seeds which can be planted to make very potent ale. the ale has many beneficial effects, such as helping infection and stress relief, but also has a grocery list of rare (2-10% odds) of triggering multiple ill side effects, such as nausea and sending a person into a fit of rage. made entirely just to make taverns all the more FUN
Tumblr media
something i didn't plan to add, but added based on request: a tressym! flying cats from forgotten realms (and also baldur's gate) that i thought looked cool and had interesting enough lore to make a good addition. I only actually finished their sprites earlier tonight, and their raws aren't made yet.
going off what i read about them, they were going to be the same size as a cat, capable of being 4 different colors/coat patters, and immune to poison. it also mentioned them being able to see invisible creatures, so i'd like to play around with them having extra vision/high stats to be able to detect ambushers, tho i'd need to test to make sure they dont completely trivialize it. Was planning to make them like the griffons and wargs, where they have the [PET] token, but not [COMMON_DOMESTIC], so there's a chance for dwarves and humans to tame them in world gen, but they would hopefully be very rare due to their spawn biome (taiga?) and frequency (was thinking around 7%)
Tumblr media
last but not least, another mega beast, this time the Undead Dragon! an undead mega beast that's intended to be a similar difficulty to the bronze colossus. it lacks blood, and damaging organs or connections doesn't bother it. It is capable of raising corpses once a day, and breathing a cool breath that makes a target drowsy and nauseous. while it can of course be killed in the usual dwarven solutions (magma, crushing) it can also be killed instantly by being speared in the skull by a spear, or decapitated. it is not capable of flight due to it's body being too rotted.

About those Omen with Cloaks
Tumblr media
(I’ve found only two of this enemy variety in the game, if there’s any more of them please tell me because they intrigue me so much)
These specific type of omen are quite a rare find, I’ve only managed to find them in two areas:
Leading a small group of commoners in front of the minor erdtree near the draconic tree sentinel fight in the outer capital
Tumblr media
2: Deeply hidden within Azuria Hero’s Grave seemingly guarding the crucible winged talisman
Tumblr media
These locations are notably very close to one another, both being a similar distance from the main entrance the Tarnished has to the Capital. The omen in the Hero’s Grave, admittedly, has less implications so I’ll be mostly skipping over him (sorry bud)
Going back to the omen next to the minor erdtree, he’s not the only one in his group with a unique model compared to his enemy type. He is surrounded by commoners (who are normally adorned in a pale cloth) wearing pitch black clothing.
Tumblr media
They also don’t throw fire pots like other commoners (think the ones in Fort Haight) Instead, they seem to just be chucking regular stones or maybe a pot with no noticeable elemental damage (I’ll do further testing if needed)
The next question is simple: Why the distinction between models compared to the rest of their enemy variety? The answer to this comes in a few different forms, leading with a fact about the Omen present at the scene: He uses Fia’s Mist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the only spell the Omen uses, all of his other attacks are melee with his cleaver. This leads me to believe that this group not only worships the Prince of Death, but that they have specific associations with Fia herself.
The first thing I wanted to prove is that he was actually using the sorcery and not just spitting it out like basilisks and wormfaces. Luckily for me, the symbol of the Death Sorceries, Godwyn’s half of the Centipede wound, flashes in front of his hand when casted (wasn’t able to get a pic of him casting it sadly)
Tumblr media
With this Fia association, we can also put the mystery of the unique models to rest. While much dirtier and more withered compared to her clean and soft robes, it seems like these “cult” members are mirroring her appearance. Wether any of these enemies have actually met her in person is a mystery to me. However, if I had to guess, Fia comforting an Omen isn’t entirely out of character for her. She’s always had a soft spot for those oppressed by the golden order. It also wouldn’t be out of character for Fia to gain some allies from a being that has grown to hate the GO for their entire life. Thus, these omen have pledged allegiance to her cause in some form, and to show this commitment, they adorn themselves with replication of the attire that comforted them
Tumblr media
Also notable is the specific tree in which the omen are located. This has been pointed out before in This VaatiVidya vid (along with some of the other stuff mentioned here) is that this Minor Erdtree could possibly be the one that Godwyn himself was buried under.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two tree’s don’t align perfectly on the map or in world, but their proximity to each other is deeply notable. Maybe there was an intended alignment that was harder to implement due to the locations of the other underground areas, but I’ll bite at the worm anyway that this is supposed to be the same tree. How else could the rotting that is only seen in this tree be explained anywhere else? The trees in the Mountain tops are broken off at the too, but this one is visibly dying in a way unique to itself.
In conclusion (?)
There is a chance that Fia’s worshipping of Godwyn is not only shared by her and TWLID, but by others spurned by the GO and Erdtree. A few Omen found comfort in her and believed that her cause could maybe assist in bringing them back into society as accepted beings. I cannot decide if this possibility is sweet or deeply unsettling.

What do you think happened to Red Ralf Stonehouse?
“Instead he had broken the great fleet into squadrons, and sent each by a different route to Slaver's Bay. The swiftest ships he gave to Red Ralf Stonehouse to sail the corsair's road along the northern coast of Sothoryos. The dead cities rotting on that fervid, sweltering shore were best avoided, every seamen knew, but in the mud-and-blood towns of the Basilisks Isles, teeming with escaped slaves, slavers, skinners, whores, hunters, brindled men, and worse, there were always provisions to be had for men who were not afraid to pay the iron price.” —ADWD The Iron Suitor
So Victarion decided to split the Iron Fleet (numbering 99 ships when they departed the Stepstones) into 3 squadrons to regroup at the Isle of Cedars; 45 ships arrive, and it sounds like Stonehouse’s squadron was the least fortunate of the 3, as Victarion notes “only nine” had made it. Victarion admits that his own squadron didn’t arrive all at once, but in small groups or even alone, so it could just be Stonehouse’s squadron was caught up in storms and thus lost at sea. Furthermore, there’s a new aggressive Corsair king in the Basilisk Isles who’d recently sacked Tall Trees Town, so it could be his squadron were engaged in a fight and lost some of their number (as Corsair kings have preyed on sailors by burning their ships and selling the captives into slavers). While acknowledging that north Sothoryos is a death trap, Victarion doesn’t admit that the Basilisk Isles are “…Hot, humid, and swarming with stinging flies, sand fleas, and bloodworms, these islands have always proved singularly unhealthy for man and beast alike.” (TWOIAF) The Red Death, which originated in the Basilisk Isles, is transmitted by fly bites and has a high mortality rate. I think the most likely explanation is that disease killed most of Stonehouse’s men, so corsairs preyed on the lightly manned ships, and then storms delayed those who were able to make it out. Ralf Stonehouse, as Victarion’s standard bearer who encouraged him to press his claim rather than stay put at Moat Cailin, I imagine tried to pay “the iron price” in the Basilisk Isles and thus contracted a disease (maybe being mercy killed, maybe deciding to go out fighting.) As TWOIAF says, “the Basilisk Isles are best avoided, for no good has ever come to those who journey hence.”

Hi!! Uhm… I couldn’t tell which of your wip ‘titles’ was possibly Death of Translation but I have been ITCHING for even a nibble of another snippet of it, If you wouldn’t mind sharing of course!!! Much love ❤️❤️❤️
“Anything,” he says. “Anything you ask for what you offer. I would be a tool in the hand of a king. I would be a courtesan in his bed.”
“Only your language. Only you, now and forever.”
Hob remembers when a marriage compact could with true words and willing hearts alone. He clasps Dream’s hands. The words come smoothly. He wonders if they were already there, somewhere in the mess of him. “Then this I give. This I promise always. My language, myself, to you, oldest friend and newest lover. Every journey I make is a journey back to you. You are the centre of it, the horizon, min ouen love treue. May we be blessed now with only the journeys we can make together, for I would share your bed every night as you ask to share my language. I would, with inadequate tongue and overfull heart, call you this, if you’ll accept it. Husband.”
“I accept these gifts. I accept this title. ”
Hob smiles wetly. “God. You know, you’ll have to come to faculty parties now.”
“I do not take up this new mantle lightly,” says Dream, smiling a little. “Hob Gadling, husband-mine.”
“And you let me name you lover, love” says Hob, “Even though we have done naught but kiss.”
“I understand more than kissing is done in a marriage,”
“Is that why you agreed to all that rot?”
Dream smirks crookedly. “You insult yourself so I will compliment your fine words.”
“Yes,” he says, pleasantly. “Are they fine?”
“Very.”
“Am I?”
“Very.”
“Does a king not deserve to be draped in finery?”
“Hob.”
“Does a new marriage not deserve to be consummated?”
Dream makes a low and hungry sound that registers, somewhere in the base of his skull, like a growl.
“Does your husband not deserve the knowledge of your touch?” Dream’s hands tighten around his waist but he is otherwise still, staring at Hob with parted lips. He is swaying, a little. Hob thinks unbidden of a basilisk. He presses his thumb to Dream’s lips, and cannot keep the awe from his face as Dream lets him trace them. He knows all these things to be true, but he knows now, too, how much he would repay his friend in his currency, how much power he wields, to beckon and soothe. “Come inside, housbande” he says, and wraps his hand around the back of Dream’s neck, stroking his thumb along cool and corded muscle. “If my language is a garden, it grows between my lips.”
Dream tips his head forward, rests it against Hob’s. “I will be greedy,” he says. “Ever have I been thus. If you bid me take you to bed, I will be loathe to let you leave.”
He says it as though he is proud even though he knows it to be terrible. Hob smiles again. “I can think of no better lover,” he says, “Than the one who would pluck every flower I grew for him.”

Ugh. Having brain rot. Again. I want to write a full, multi-part fic – reader insert, as per my usual trash self – that follows Twst’s storyline. I don’t even know that I’m gonna post it, it’s just something I wanna write for myself for the time being. I just wanna have fun with some crack, angst and romance. I wouldn’t do anything with it right away since I’m getting ready for Kinktober and I wanna put all my focus on that for the time being.
Thing is, I have a few backstory ideas for MC, and I want them… being something other than a useless human lmao. So, which of these options should I go with? I could go for either one of these.

He’s just a lil creature
Unlike Belos’s cursed form, Pip actually has two versions. The one drawn here is when he has enough magic stored inside, is a Frankenstein-ed up mess between a basilisk and whatever Belos’s curse in canon is meant to be but because curses in general aren’t explained in explicit detail (especially belos’s one) I thought it would be neat to attempt to give it a cool headcanon
so my idea of what creature these two got stuffed with is something that’s nicknamed a “false Titan” which are a long extinct species of demon? (They might be a sub category of titan though I’m not too sure yet :/) that evolved to mimic titans in order to better hunt their children as well as hunt smaller species of titan that don’t grow to be giants, these guys ended up getting killed off in the war between archivists and titans because the archivists couldn’t tell the difference between the two species but one archivist eventually did and captured one of them for safe keeping/ preserving.
Evelyn was a seller of all kinds of dangerous magical artefacts and human items, she mostly used her business as fun hobby as well to help Caleb with starting their carving business that they wanted to do together because Evelyn running around exploring dangerous ruins wasn’t a good idea because they obviously were planning on starting a family together. Uh that kind of failed spectacularly ngl when the whole fight between Caleb and Philip started so Evelyn in revenge literally grabbed every curse she had in storage and just murked Philip with them after seeing Caleb dead, one of the curses just so happened to be the “false titan” which Philip wasn’t able to remove.
So The reason why Belos snacks on palisman is because they’re grown from using titan magic as well as they have healing properties so like how Eda eats voles, Belos is addicted to eating titan magic because of the curse, also by having the glyphs carved into his arms he fucked himself over even more because the glyphs need to have magic/ energy to function but that then causes the curse to get more agitated and causes the slime/rotting
Obviously Pip ended up getting cursed too because it got passed onto him but due to him being a weird amalgamation of grimwalker parts and basilisk, Pip isnt really interested in eating titan magic and can eat most magic just fine, so King or palisman aren’t in danger around him… but he is carnivorous and has to actually eat the creature to drain the magic rather than just inhaling it Kirby style like how basilisks do
A fun fact about that is that Luz just assumed that Pip just casually eating raw meat was just a witch thing until she learned more about witch diets/ foods and was somewhat horrified and intrigued by what the fuck is up with Pip even more. It’s even funnier when they all eventually go the human realm and Pip is just like this with a piece of raw meat or something
Tumblr media
and Luz got so desensitised to Pip and his horrifying habits that she completely forgot to give a heads up to Camila, who at that time just assumed that Pip was just a normal human that was brought into the boiling isles or something and so she was completely taken off guard that out of the gang Pip is the least human/ knowledgeable in acting as a human, she’s mostly fine with it afterwards and only sets a few rules like making sure to not leave blood everywhere but she does almost have a heart attack seeing Pip’s cursed form just napping on the sofa like a weird giant cat
a wild GH masterpost link has appeared!
