He’s kinda in the same boat as you because people think he’s really intimidating because of his buzz cut and his defensiveness

But he’s actually a puppy so you guys get along perfectly

He likes it when you pick him up from practise because it makes him look cool to have an alt best friend and makes it seem like he hangs out with cool and mysterious people

But in reality, you’re both dumbasses and probably end up cuddling each other while watching cartoons

Still likes to show you off though

‘This is my best friend y/n, they’re off-limits’

Lowkey a big brother type friend but also super platonically touchy with you cause you best believe this sweetheart likes his cuddles

Tanaka totally buys you meat buns when you come and get him from school so you can eat on the way home

If you’re walking with him 9 times out of 10 you’re not actually doing the walking (and don’t even worry about weight this man is buff

He keeps water bottles and a mini-fan in his bag in the summer because he knows you can overheat while wearing all that black (Drink water)

And always has a spare shirt you can steal if you get too hot with what you’re wearing

If you wear makeup he keeps a spare eyeliner in his bag for you and even lets you experiment new looks on him if you want

Fully will walk into practice with you and him sporting some amazing alt makeup and not even blink an eye at the stares he’s getting

Probably think you’re heckling but then notice the face paint and the modified jersey you have on

You become infamous at his games and both Daichi and Ukai begin to enjoy your presence because Tanaka plays just that little bit better when he has his best friend yelling in the stands

You often yell yourself hoarse but you’re still the first to run down onto he court and give your boy the biggest victory hug when he wins

No matter what the outcome, you always go for ice cream after his matches

Probably has an ice cream/sorbet place that he only takes you too so you can sit with your legs in his lap and yell about the math some more

And then you probably get kicked out for being the big scary kids that are making each other laugh so hard you snort your drinks

But he always makes you smile even in these situations

Tanaka always makes you smile in general, whether it’s painting your face before a game or doing dramatic air guitar when you’re sad

You guys make look scary but you’re just two dumbasses that care about each other a lot and as long as you know that you’re gonna be okay

the line is from what we deserve!! it's a soulmate au where your timer counts down to the moment that you meet your soulmate!! bakugou's timer ends at USJ when he and kirishima attack kurogiri at the same time (impulsive kings <33) but kirishima's timer doesn't end until kamino because that's when he accepts himself as bakugous soulmate!! unfortunately, when bakugous timer has reached 0, he turned to see that kirishima's was still ticking and therefore believes that kirishima isn't his soulmate.

this line just,, idk. it's really sad. bakugou is such an action-driven character? if something doesn't go his way he Makes it go his way. he's got this insanely volatile quirk and he's got impeccable control of it!! but his love for kirishima isn't something that he can change and he's not going to ruin kirishima's chance of finding his own soulmate because he loves him and wants him to be happy. i really wanted to focus on how resigned he is? and how unusual that is for a character like him.

What colors would you use to describe your writing? hm,,, depends on the fic i would say?? control fraek is dark green to me?? kinda like a forest at night yk?? scary but there's still life there. sugar cookies is yellow like early morning sunlight, when it rains is yellowy-orange like a caution sign. not gonna list all of them cause theres a lot its just. do u get it? the colours change based on the vibe of the fic.

What song or music genre would you use to describe your writing? think. i am constantly trying to emulate that moment at the end of wasteland baby when hozier goes "im in love/im in love with you."

What kind of metaphors do you rely on? religious metaphors my beloved <33 they're just so pretty!!! i also love comparing stuff to water for some reason?? like that ocean vuong quote thats like "what are you now?/water." it goes hard!!!

Do you listen to music to help you write? yeah!! playlists organized by fic vibe :D

Where do you usually go to write (bedroom, living room, etc.)? mostly in my bedroom??? but moving around to different stops helps too i think!!

How long does it usually take for you to write? again this depends on what i have going on irl, how attached i am to the idea, my mindset at the time, etc!! i am,, the least consistent person skjnhdkjh.

What's your favorite font to use when writing? times new roman my beloved

CONCEPTUALIZATION

How do you conceptualize your ideas? (See specific moments like they're a movie, writing specific lines in your head, don't know until you put the words on paper, etc.) i tend to get inspiration from movies, books, poems, or other fics!!! sometimes one line just makes me go oh,, i want to write something like that,,, and then it helps me create an idea that makes me feel the same way?? i did this with control fraek!!!! i wanted a scenario where bakugou was cold and calculating and i was like hm. to do that he’d have to be focusing on something important. and from there i was able to flesh out the rest of the idea.

Which comes first: the pairing or the plot? with krbk its always always the pairing,, i'll be sitting there like wow <33 i love them <33 what if one of them had amnesia <33 (which, yes, wip!!) otherwise it's usually the plot!! and i slot in characters that i feel make sense

Have you ever used a prompt? yeah!! used a prompt for wlw week 2020 and it was fun as hell

Do you write around the story around a specific scene you want to get to or do you start from a plot idea definitely the first!!!! i almost always write like,,, a super messy scene thats 90% dialogue, keep it in my head, and then write the entire fic around that one moment

Do you find that you include a projection of some part of yourself in the way you write a character? a lot of the time when i write love confessions or love in general i'll have one of the characters think or say that the other person makes their head quiet? and it's because that's what i feel whenever i'm in love?? a quiet mind. i project on characters yeah but i think most of the projection actually goes to the way that i write love

Do you research some of the things you write deeply, partially and kind of wing the rest, or play entirely by ear (in this case, go with whatever base knowledge of the subject you have)? most of the time if i do research it'll be about the setting (ex. the izakaya in to have and to hold) or if i'm having the characters interact with an object that they like. need to know how to use (me, in control fraek: google. hey google. does someone die if they get shot in the foot??? no???? awesome thank u <3)

Have you ever had an idea for a story and forgot about it? lmaoo yeah all the time i'll find like 500-2k words of concepts in my gdocs like i do. not remember this at all

Are there concepts you've tried that turned out better than expected? yeah!! i fully thought the action in control fraek would be awful but it turned out not bad??? which im happy with

How do you come up with titles? in rare occasions (literally. all my multichaps for some reason) the title comes after writing like .5 words of the first chapter im like YES this is it!!!!! sometimes i write the whole thing and pick out one line that fits (what i did with come home to me) a lot of the time i just. steal from songs or poems that i like

What's your favorite emotion to cause on your readers? i like making people happy!!!! love when people comment saying they're cheered up

Do you set word goals or scene goals (scenes you want to include)? yes!! like i said i'll write loose notes for scenes that i want to add later!! it gives me something to write towards :D

What do you consider when writing your scenes? what goes into making the atmosphere and mood you want? to set a scene i do two things? the first is like,, the five senses bc that always sets the scene really well and makes it feel Real. i'll visualize stuff in my head like its a movie and write out what i would want to tell the set designer?? if the lights are low, if the space is busy, if it's supposed to exude comfort or not.

for putting forward the character's mood one thing i've found that makes a difference is sentence length!! long sentences are good for making a character seem flustered and nervous or not really in control of their emotions? good for love confessions. short sentences are good for when the character is focused on something or short on time. good for fights!!

What's something you never considered to include in your writing that you can't leave out now? def buff hagakure,,,, once i thought of it i was like. if i don't include this at least once in every single fic how could i look at myself in the mirror!!!!!! how could i face anyone!!!!

How do you start a story? establishing a fact about the character or describing the setting! option a is one single thread of gold, option b is between lion and men

How do you end a story? either by tying it back to the beginning or doing like a funny kind of closing??? option a is sugar cookies, option b is a godless society

How do you get out of writer's block? change something!! move something!! i go from typing to handwriting, moving from my bedroom to my living room, switching wips to work on something else!! i do sprints as well?? give myself like fifteen minutes to write something and sometimes 200 words opens up the way for another 2k. sometimes i'll just delete like 500 words and start fresh

Do you edit? or do you toss your writing out there? i edit!!! i'll go over it myself then send it to one or two betas (bee my beloved <33)

How do you edit? do you use spellcheck, grammar checkers, etc? bee is my grammar checker bc he is So Good with grammar. i use grammarly as well for spellcheck stuff mostly?? sometimes my edit process is just like "am i tired of looking at this!! yes <3" and then i post it

Do you usually like what you write? yeah!!! i post stuff that makes me happy and that i'm fine with rereading!!! i write stuff for self-indulgence reasons first and foremost and i think my writing reflects that sjhnksj

Do you find yourself rereading your writing often? yeah!! the reason i wrote so much krbk secret relationship is because i loved it but i'd read all that there was so i just,, wrote more,, ngl its kinda nice being in a place where i actually like my writing bc i can write stuff that i want to see and really enjoy it!!

Can you tell us anything about your current WIP? sure!! i'm currently working on when it rains which is a fic where bakugou gets hit by a crying quirk!! i'm gonna be using it to explore So Much of all might's character and his relationships with bakugou and aizawa (and i think some people from his past!!)

Can you give us a sneak peek on your current WIP? “You did something. What the hell did you do?” Kirishima sounds pissed off. It would amuse Katsuki if he wasn’t fighting just to stay standing.

“Nothing he didn’t ask for,” Shinsou replies.

“K’ri… shima,” Katsuki croaks out. “‘S fine. Not him.”

His chest collapses back into the familiar dry heaving after that but Kirishima shuts up. He doesn’t apologize to Shinsou.

Kirishima’s a good friend, stubborn and loyal. He stands by Katsuki’s side like an attack dog, blocking him from the view of anyone ogling at his tears.

The last line you've written Ochako knows more than she'd realized. She knows enough to keep her guard up.

What's your favorite thing about writing? touched on this before but it's mainly just being able to write the things that i want to see and actually enjoy them!!! actually reread them!!!! i thought "wouldn't it be cool if bkg and kirishima owned a restaurant together" and then i wrote it and i like it enough to reread it!!!! being able to create content for myself makes me. so happy

How do you keep yourself inspired? this is gonna sound narcissistic maybe but honestly i'm just really excited about my ideas and where i'm gonna take them and the idea of "i'm gonna get to That scene" keeps me going through the entire thing. also my friends!!!! i'll talk to them about fics and their reactions keep me hyped up enough to finish!!!!

What is your favorite thing to write? just,, slice of life romance,,, stuff thats silly and makes people laugh!!

What do you think your strengths are in writing? i'm good with dialogue!! i do lil voice acting sessions with myself to make sure everything sounds natural and like it's coming from that character skhjnskj

i'm comfortable with my portrayal of love as well??? i spend a lot of time thinking about what it is exactly that i'm trying to get across and i think it turns out well!!

What are things you wish you could practice more? on one hand i wanna get better at writing angst on the other hand i dislike writing angst. do you see my issue

One way you've improved your writing since you began? characterization!! i think i've gotten better at writing characters that are all Different and bring different things to the table!!! i used to project a lot more and it would compromise the characterization because the character was like 70% me and 30% them? not to say that projection is bad but if you do it too much it just,, doesn't read like the character and from a reader's standpoint the narrative can become less compelling

One aspect of writing you're still working on? writing action!!! i. literally hate writing it but i write for a fandom about superheroes so. Unfortunately i gotta learn.

A piece of writing advice you've learned while writing saw this on another tumblr post but they said sometimes if you're struggling with a scene, the problem is five lines back. i've found that to be true!!!! sometimes u gotta delete a chunk and start a little ways back!! i did this with too busy being yours because i was stuck for Weeks and i deleted like 25% of what i had but it helped me actually finish it :D

A bit of writing advice you can't stand when people shit on show don't tell for being overrated lmao bc when u read their writing you can Tell

Something you wish you knew when you first started writing? ,,,,honestly i kind of wish i could know some of the stuff that i used to when i first started writing?? technically i'm better now but creatively i was must better when i wasn't stressing about whether anyone would like what i was writing. so i guess i wish i knew that i should keep that confidence? i kinda wish that i wasn't as insecure about other people's writing styles because i never used to be!!

Something you've learned in life that you apply in writing there's no point in feeling inferior?? writing one genre isn't better than the other. being in one fandom isn't better than being in another. the kind of language you use or the length of your paragraphs- none of that stuff like. matters. what matters is that you're having fun and happy with what you're creating!!!! enjoy other peoples writing but don't let it make you feel worse about yours :D

🧑 Favorite character to write:

Short answer: Harvest Moon’s Cliff (all incarnations)

Long answer: I don’t think it’s really any secret that my favorite Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons characters to write for are the ones that reside at Doug’s Inn. I see Doug, Ann, Gray, Kai, and Cliff as a large, dysfunctional family – AKA Doug and all of his children, haha. There are so many different personalities in one small space playing off of one another, and there’s so much fun to be had. I loved how all the guys in shared a room in the GBA version of Mineral Town. It kinda reminds me of those cheesy sitcoms where clashing personalities all reside under the same roof. That being said, there is a particular shy, reclusive young man who blossoms with confidence as he finds purpose in his life. Bonus: he comes with a vague, tragic past that has tons of potential for exploration. I have a hard time resisting woobie-type characters.

💎Favorite trope to write?

Ah, there are so many tropes out there…

I really like writing characters who appear to be strong, but if they get hit in that crack in their armor, they just fall apart. Kinda like how in TSN Karen is very soft for her friends despite coming off as sassy and in control, and more recently some stuff has been going on with Gray, who typically can keep a stoic (or at least pissed-off) expression. Having those “stronger” characters actually lean on someone is really satisfying to write, and it’s also a great way to showcase how the “softer” characters are actually really strong themselves. On the flipside of that, I also like writing softer characters slowly realizing their strong points and becoming more confident, too.

I would take this to mean a quote for something upcoming. Here's a snippet for the next chapter of The Shy Newcomer that I drafted last night. Spoilers under the cut!

Cliff rinsed off his razor and continued, realizing how long it had felt since he had washed up and shaved on his own. He frowned; Elli was likely worn ragged from all the care she put into him. He thought of her kind eyes as she had helped him into the bath, her gentle voice as the warm water lapped over his skin. The nurse had told lighthearted tales about her and Stu or silly moments she and Mary had shared to keep the mood light and eliminate any awkwardness between them as she tended to him.

He had caught her eye from time to time as she had cut his hair, her cheeks blushing to a bright pink as she let out a nervous laugh, continuing her work. She really had been far too kind.

I asked too much of Elli...

I asked too much of everyone.

Maybe I always have.

The shaky smile he had forced on his lips dropped as he caught his eyes in the reflection of the mirror.

It's not a 'maybe' – it's a 'definitely'.

He focused on the tired bags under his eyes; they had been getting better but last night left him looking as exhausted as he felt. His face had lost a lot of the boyish roundness that was in his family photo. It had only become slimmer since he moved into town and he couldn't tell if he simply looked older or sickly. His gaze traveled down the scars that crawled up his arms and he let out a heavy sigh when he spotted an offensive row of marks and fading bruises left from the IV treatments Elli gave him; he avoided fixating on his reflection for a reason.

So pathetic... I'm not even allowed to lift things at work right now...

His gaze moved down his bare torso, and he sighed at his narrow waist. He was a far cry from his strong, barrel-chested father. Surely Flint had been much more capable than Cliff was when he was his age.

You can still almost see my ribs. It's like I undid a lot of the weight I managed to put back on...

I'm sorry Elli had to look at... all of this.

Bright sapphire eyes with flushed cheeks and wisps of golden hair made his heart throb, remembering the other evening.

He was grateful for the smart rapping at the bathroom door.

“Yo! You can wear another one of my sweatshirts if you want today!” Gray's voice sounded more like a command than an offer. “Supposed to be cold...”

Here’s Scout’s SFW A-Z

Alignment :: What would be their D&D alignment? How might it come into play? Neutral Good to Chaotic Good. Wants to do the right thing, and sometimes that means throwing out the whole law.

Beverage :: What do they most like to drink, and why? Infused water. He's especially fond of cucumber/mint/lime.

Co-Habitate :: Do they live with anyone? What’s “need to know” before moving in? Lives in the manor, when the gang isn't traveling. He has a lot of energy and expects everyone to keep their shit fairly tidy. Don't let you messes spill into common spaces, it's rude. You can keep your space however you like as long as it doesn't stink.

Decor :: What kind of home do they keep? Are there any defining details? He leans towards calm soothing colors. Soft textures. Clean lines, but comfortable. He doesn't like his home to feel sterile.

Escape :: What do they do to destress? How successful is it? He explores a lot, and loves climbing things. He has a tendency to climb the nearest, tallest thing and jump off. It's not even an elegant dive, he just kinda hops, feet first. He uses gravity magic to slow, then stop his descent, but Piper still hates when he does it.

Fluff :: What hits their soft spot? Does anything them into emotional goo?Pluckiness. The “won't give up” attitude will win him over pretty quick.

Grudge :: How bad does an insult go over? Do they hold a grudge long? He doesn't usually care. If someone is rude he tends to ignore them. When he was younger he'd get indignant and lecture people, but now its usually an awkward silence followed by a “OH. DID YOU SAY SOMETHING?” With people close to him, he takes it very personally, and tends to respond with hurt over anger. He does hold grudges, but never over things done to him, but rather the people he cares about.

Hobby :: What’s something they do for fun that might be surprising? Cartography. He enjoys making maps of the places he explores. Even just little maps of the different layouts and locations for their campsite.

Insomnia :: What’s their sleeping schedule like? Snorer? Sound sleeper? He sleeps deeply, but restlessly. He's been known to roll off the bed. He snores if he's on his back, but its a cute little “mweh heh heh” like his laugh.

Jaded :: Do they buy into the “happily ever after” ideal? What’s their standard? He believes, but is a little more realistic than some. He knows it takes work and communication. Good news, he's good at both of those things. Now to find a partner also good at those things.

Kin :: What’s their role among their relations? Do they consider others family? He alternates between “physical embodiment of the concept of chaos” and “one of the only responsible adults around here”. It depends on mood and context. He can wrangle people pretty well, but isn't nearly as diplomatic as Lief.

Law :: What do they think about abiding rules? Are they selective about it? He'll follow most laws easily enough, as long as they don't get in the way of doing the “right” thing.

Magic :: In a magic series or not, are they accepting, or is each instance a shock? Human magic would be surprising, and exciting, and a little scary. His curiosity would probably win out, but there'd be a touch of caution lingering as well.

Network :: Are they connected to the people? How much do they reach out to others? Scout is friendly and likable. He makes friends easily. He doesn't quite have the talent of Lief, he's not quite as diplomatic, but he's still fairly quick to get “in” in any particularly location.

Offspring :: What kind of parent would they be? Would they prefer one, or multiple? Scout would be a pretty good parent. Definitely the kind to keep his kids on a schedule and in several extracurriculars. Encouraging, and firm, but fun. He'd be happy with one or two, probably no more than four. He wants to make sure he can dedicate enough time and energy to each kid.

Pistol :: Is this character skilled with a weapon? What’s their opinion of violence? Scouts not a fan of violence, but also tends not to take it to seriously. His coping mechanism it to make it fun. He has decent aim, but he weilds his warhammer with a grace that would seem impossible given the things proportions.

Question :: How often do they feel doubt? What topics are they defensive about? He has pretty good self confidence, but he has the occasional bad day. He's pretty good at picking himself back up though. He hates being seen as a child. Its one thing to be a little “childish” but he's is not a kid. He's an adult, hell, his actual childhood was cut short and he stepped up to raise his brother. He's not a kid, and he resents any implication otherwise.

Reminder :: How are they at remembering daily needs? What falls through the cracks? Scout has a schedule and he keeps it. He tends to all of his needs on a pretty strict routine. It's flexible enough to account for random events, but he made specifically to be manageable even on the go.

Sing :: Do they like music? Do they listen often/sing/hum/play songs in their head? Scout loves to sing. He's not the best at it, but he can carry a tune. However what he lacks in skill he makes up in energy and fun.

Touch :: How do they handle contact? Is their personal bubble big? What's a personal bubble? Scout is a very tactile person, and has a tendency to get into other people spaces. Make it clear you need room and he'll back off, but his default tends to ignore that people like to have some buffer.

Upcoming :: How much do they think of the future? Do they make long-term plans? He has ideas, for what he would eventually like, but not really planned time lines. He lives in the day, and as opportunities arise, he'll take them.

Vice :: What bad habits do they have? Is there something they would be ashamed of? He's reckless and doesn't always think things through. He gets an idea and just, does it. Things often end up blown up. Scout has no shame.

Wardrobe :: What’s their fashion style? Do they have any staple pieces? Everything he wears has tons of pockets. He likes canvas fabrics for outerwear, and softer cottons for anything that actually touches him. Greys and blues primarily, but he'll do earthy colors to blend in if he needs to be more stealthy.

X-Ray :: How’s their health? Any problem areas? Do they take care of themselves? Scout is obsessive about his health. He takes very good care of himself.

Yack :: What’s their favorite thing to talk about? What do they go on about? Explosives. That one bird he saw. That one (and only) time Piper actually did a chore. He bounces topics a lot, and can chatter about nearly anything.

Zodiac :: What’s their astro sign? Does it fit? He's a Capricorn. Hard-working, stubborn, and relentless are all traits that fit him well. Pessimistic and responsible are hit and miss. Same for sensitive, up-tight and and practical. In some ways he is, and in others very much not.

It all starts on flight rising. Well, Heart starts on FR. It REALLY starts with my webcomic/animated series.

It wasn’t well drawn or animated at first, but it steadily got better. One of the plot holes, back in 8th grade, was “who created priscilla and Jake?”

It was mostly summed up to “Penny made all the bots its all simple” but i was a middle schooler and i needed a complicated (and edgy) story.

Thing is I had already made Fandragons of a good chunk of my ocs on flight rising.

I bred two dragons to get my main characters, so why not just use them?

Christy Suggested the name Cavet, and I liked it.

So I made human designs for them both, but Chrysanthemum remains forgotten, not even canon to Mechanical Fury anymore.

Here’s him in his second image ever. The one that pretty much defined his design.He also quickly gained a husband

Anyway he quickly morphed into a villain several time more dangerous than the main villain

He’s responsible for the deaths of not ONE, not TWO, but THREE children.

Two his kids, one the younger sister of a character that one of the dead kids liked.

One of his dead kids got his own story, the other was literally a main character.

Chloride, (Charlie) in all his glory, lucky enough to get resurrected as an android but after finding out he’s not who he thinks he is, has to attempt to live a normal Human life… when his two best friends are paranormal investigators, his love interest having lost their arm and their only remaining sister to the main villain.

He originally found out he was an android by finding his own blueprints, hearing his Mom cry about it, and then cutting open his face (for his signature scar) and running off.

Running into Cavet’s husband, Nathair Liu. He stitches him up, know all about robotic n all that but he is.

Okay i’ve gotten off track.

Yeah at this point I was really loving Cavet, on FR, and wrote an entire long story between him and Skittles based on the events of Mechanical Fury.

This was where I got the idea for reincarnation.

I needed an explanation for why the same character was in two different universes, and it was perfect. In fact, it lead to an amazing way to end it.

But what is in control of all this? What does he see in the in between?

Well, Death was packaged with two other red herrings to keep people from thinking she was more important than them from the start, when in fact, she was. One of the plot points is that Cavet dies. He continues causing havoc, but nobody can figure out why or how. he doesn’t have a body.

Except he does. Death.

She was scary, but that was just her, she was a literal robot grim reaper. Nobody suspected she was spreading a virus to make robots susceptible to Augap’s control everywhere she went. Not even her. Cav liked hanging out in the AI scape, AKA the robot afterlife or virtual heaven.

What a fun way to make a real grim reaper.

I never really kept track of the transition from “cute robot char” to “cute real god char”

and i guess it never happened. Heart still thinks of her as she was, as cute little Litty. Except when she’s not. He gave form to the literal concept of DEATH. And became her friend. She still calls him Papa, sometimes.

In any case, Cavet’s doodles started being more and more revolving around his angst with the reincarnation.

in fact, i had a few character in the same boat as him, as I had made a couple dragons into MF characters as well.

I called them The Artifacts. It didn’t seem rounded out with only four, so I added a 5th. To give me more leeway in case I make a character i like enough to bring with them.

and turns out. I did.

I was sad enough about Cavet losing the love of his life, betraying him, creating a rift between them with his descent into obsession.

So he came with them.

They’re inseparable.

after a few lives of getting revenge on him for killing his sons and some adult humans and a BUNCH of robots, (not even counting his crimes in the vampire life he committed because he thought he lost Liu forever) Soul revealed to him something about Heart’s 6th life, which Mind doesn’t remember.

But he was there.

Long story short, he was Captain Shuggazoom. Yeah 10 lives of stuff he forgot before he started remembering his past lives. Messed Heart up.

ANYWAY BACK TO DEVELOPMENT!

I went around, making original characters to fill in Heart’s lives. I put him in a LOT of stories, but a notable one is My Old Ask Blog, @ask-musical-monsters

I still hadn’t abandoned MF so Bean has a lot of influence from Cavet.

I REALLY liked bean. It occured to me here-ish that Heart isn’t constrained by being my oc. He can be whoever he wants and nobody will care.

So of course I immediately declare him purple guy. No drawings of him, but I know I said he was purple guy at some point. Also at this point in time I started organizing the lives by number order, and making a simple arc for Heart and the others to follow.

1000 lives.

I made a brief description of heart’s 1st life, but made it purposefully very superfluous so i can change it whenever i want. All i know is he had albinism, and a desire to live forever.

That summer I got an amazing idea. I would take advantage of the Baldi’s basics trend with a ASK BLOG.

It was a mathematically calculated success. I did as many things as possible to generate more audience. MAIN thing being posting as often as possible, and being REALLY funny.

But knew I wasn’t going to like adding to the ask blog if i didn’t like the main character

I already knew he was going to be Baldi, but I wasn’t sure exactly how to characterize him either.

Turns out making him heart solved both of those problems. He’s always been Heart.

And Princi has ALWAYS been mind.

Even if they don’t always show their artifacts, they always were the same people as all these other things ive made. They have a DEEP connection to both each other and me.

At some point, I re-re-discovered SRMTHFG. The first few seconds I saw SK I knew he was Heart. It was so perfect it scared me.

HE EVEN DOES THE POSE!!!!! RED EYES!!!! AAAH!!!

I got an idea for a storyline based on formless and regret and monkeys… so.. uh

Anyway that kinda brings us to today, where the events of the blog have happened based on Heart things, and i can play around with Heart as much as I want.

And Willie’s next life? Well, 23 is my favorite number. It’ll be cool, but I’m not sure how. All I know is 23 wears a striped shirt, and is a vamp again.

In summary, Heart is the most important character I’ve ever made, and I will never come close to anybody as wonderful and as complicated as him. He’s the greatest formless, the best villains, the heroes, and one character i want to hold out for finding irl.

I love them even in scribbles i find on bus seats, in fanart of him, love her in songs i hear, in flowers i see in the wild.

Whoever they end up being, it’s safe to say I’ve fallen in love with Heart.

If you want me to describe his in universe story, I’ll need a seperate post.

Ok, let’s just start

Silk: UUUh this outfit like kills my brain in both ways because it SHOULDNT make me confident but it does, like i have a tiny black tank top shirt that has spaghetti straps and its really short and its like this like kinda fluffy texture? and it has lace on the chest area and its really cute, and i usually pair that with some high cut jeans and boots or black shoes with platform and look i dont like my arms but that outfit makes me feel like a BAD bitch

Film! mmmmh my favorite movie or my favorite tv show?? mmmh well my favorite TV show is Dark, its a german series and its reeeeallly good you should watch it. My favorite movie? Hocus pocus (i think thats what its called in english) i was in lovee with that movie as a kid

Galaxy: This is a difficult one, ive always been fascinated by a lot of things, mostly its been hyperfixations like growing up i was OBSESSED with dinasours, also i really like bartending?? like i want to do a course on it or something. But two topics that really fascinate me and i can never get enough of its: The ocean, and the human mind

I guess the ocean its self explanatory, like its SO MUCH WATER like how does it all stay there??? how deep does it go??? how did it get there?? how is it so much??? i love swimming and i love the beach and i love swimming where my feet dont touch the ground and even though drowning is scary as fuck i never seem to be afraid of it when im in the ocean and i feel kind off, like i want to swim further??? idk how to explain it rlly i just really like it and enjoy being around all type of water bodies

and well the human mind is soooo interesting like how do we work? how much does our upbringing affect how we interact with people and view the world like obviously a lot but HOW much like how much do the little off-hand comments that we dont even remember affect us on our day to day basis, like does nature even exist or is it all nurture? does NURTURE even exist? it most likely does. But how much of our behavior is shaped by whats around us? how is the mind of someone who grew up in poverty compared to the mind of someone who was born rich? i want to know EVERYTHING about the human mind!!!

i also like animals a lot, especially farm animals but ive never actually been to a farm??? maybe thats just city girl dreaming of me lmao

but yea im between being a psychologist and a veterinarian,,,, maybe if life allows it ill study both!!! but well have to see

hunty movie 1

sooo ruth and i watched the first hxh movie holla

me as soon as we’re done w/the yorknew arc: OH FUCKY ITS ANIME MOVIE TIME

i love anime movies. theyre so often Entertaining As Hell, and also Not Very Good. its a very fun intersection

overall this movie slots pretty easily into that category. it was a good time but nothing revolutionary. which is ok! and that makes sense bc its not canon apparently

this movie was basically the ‘killua and kurapika have Trauma(tm)’ movie lmao

we open w/killua having a trauma dream abt illumi, rehashing the stuff we saw in the hunter exam arc....we see this a few more times in the movie, and it really drives home how killua is still rlly scared of illumi and kinda just goes into a dissociative trauma state whenever illumi is around (even fake doll illumi or dream illumi, in this movie). poor kid :( :(

regrettably tho ruth and i agree that illumis outfit in this movie was pretty sexy

ok that whole beginning part where kurapikas eyes get stolen happens SO fast hvbfhdjshfsk its like ok guess thats the status quo for this movie!

jesus poor kurapika. they cant catch a fuckgin break huh

also that kid was totally the kid that was alluded to by kurapika at the end of the yorknew arc...so i guess that was included in the anime as a setup for this movie?

also apparently that stuff was based off of a short story thing the author did a while ago which is p cool

hisoka literally just shows up to sow chaos and throw around information to stir shit up huh

of COURSE the villain is the former 4th spider thats like. easy choice lmao

it might just be the fansubs but i feel like there were strong implications that hisoka and 4th spider guy fucked bhjdfashfdjnakn

the most unbelievable thing abt this whole thing is that hisoka didnt kill that doll guy lmao

OHHH SHIT NOBUNGA AND MACHI....its so bad but i really like the troupe members and when they show up im like !!!!!!!

also the shadow beast guys that uvo killed showing up and then proceeding to do LITERALLY NOTHING was kinda hilarious

and damn so technically the troupe is on the same side as the main crew, what with all of them wanting to wreck omokages shit

also omokage looks like sephiroth lmaoooo

ill be honest i barely know what sephiroth looks like but ruth said this and i felt in my bones that its true

ok i gotta talk abt the kurapika backstory stuff bc OUUGHGHGHGHGH my fucking UWUS BITCH!!!!

seeing a bunch of kurta was sad....and seeing baby-er kurapika OUGH and also pairo is sooo cute and him and kurapikas friendship is so pure

kurapika is so different :( theyre like, so much more innocent and excitable....thats so damn sad bro wtf

pairo pulling some slick moves swapping that little potion thing - all while using his blindness as a cover - was so good...no wonder he and kurapika get along so well

also gotta say its even more brutal that one of the main reasons kurapika didnt get Big Murdered w/the rest of the kurta is bc pairo pulled this stunt - if he hadnt, kurapika wouldve failed the test and never would have left

also kurapika saying theyre gonna find someone who can help w/pairos eyes ;_; the similarities w/leorios backstory/motivation makes me die

and seriously im still caught up at how innocent and pure kp is oooof ough

tho still defs the kurapika we know....theyve seemingly always had a temper, what with the reaction to the dudes in the market

like, kurapika did NOT hold back...even after finding out that they were just part of the test! tho i do get it bc they insulted pairo...kurapika’s love for their friends/stalwart need to defend their friends is clearly a big thing

also the market people’s reaction to seeing kp’s red eyes is rlly interesting to me...are the kurta like, known to anybody? or are they more of a vaguely talked-about group that like, ‘probably exists’? or is it that people know abt them but not the red eyes thing? it seems like these people, if any, would know, bc this market is seemingly a day’s travel from where the kurta live....i want more kurta lore bro!!

i big love pairo helping kurapika cheat like that....such an interesting twist, and makes it obvious that theirs is a friendship of equals

anyways i loved that flashback stuff and it just drives home how absolutely fucked up and horribly sad kurapikas whole existence is, especially in this movie w/pairo’s doll being used against them

i love that gon’s super nose returned for this movie omg

im just auhghghghgh gon and killua know each other so well uwu....

aaaand illumi (well, doll illumi) is back to fuck shit up for poor killua

ugh it still gets me how clearly terrified of illumi killua is...we dont really see him act like this any other time :( and the fact that doll-illumi was able to scare killua enough to get him to run away and leave gon behind (albeit briefly) was oof

gon jumping in front of killua and getting his eyes stolen instead....baby boyyyy oughhh

also can i just say thank fuck they didnt replace illumis eyes w/gons bc THAT wouldve been some serious nightmare fuel lmao

cant believe killua then ran away again and walked emo-ly on the train tracks

and THEN he saw a train coming and was like oh well :( guess ill die :/ JESUS KID

but gon w/his Big Sniff Powers comes to the rescue!!

it was so cute how gon told killua that killua didnt run and abandon him - they were working together to fight :’) gon understands killua so well

i love how the squad then squads up to fight omokage...with half of them being blind lmao

and in the half that isnt blind is leorio, who STILL doesnt know nen, and literally brings a knife to a nen fight

i totally saw the whole ‘retz is a doll and her older brother is omokage, and retz actually died a while ago’ thing coming lol but still, not bad

all omokage does is talk abt the beauty of his dolls or w/e like ENOUGH bro

kurapika fighting pairo and killua fighting illumi (AGAIN) was all so fucked up they shouldve switched opponents for less trauma oof

general thots:

so this was very much an Anime Movie, in that they cant like, advance to plot or develop the characters much, bc its a movie. and this one is non canon

it was enjoyable but i do feel like it was much more typical shounen then hxh usually is...like, i feel like this was made by the same people who make like, the naruto movies or w/e, and w/the same sort of approach/attitude

this isnt necessarily bad - i LIKE shounen for a reason - but it was a bit noticeable bc it wasnt quite as smart as hxh is usually, and it rehashed a lot of stuff weve already seen in this show itself

but still i think it did a good job w/what it had, and it had some good angst, and everyone was very gay which is good

the art style was SLIGHTLY wack but it wasnt as bad as i thought itd be

overall a fun time like most anime movies. didnt reinvent the wheel but i had a good time. im excited for the greed island arc, and im also disproportionately excited to watch the hxh musical bc that is a thing that exists and i MUST see it asap bc that sounds like the kind of hilarious wackiness that appeals to me specifically

ive been wanting to draw more for this but ive had no time cos midterms-- but i wanted to share anyways

so uh Mahjong is an AU version of Domino from a conversation btwn @aphcanadaisnolongercool and i super fucken long ago now sasdfghjkl theyre super sweet when theyre not being a bit of a sassy bastard and theyre much more confident/secure in themself than Domino, further rambles under the cut

so like there isnt a Definitive Name for the AU but we did jokingly call it the “Flamboyant AU” asdfghjkl;

but through Some Kind Of Debacle I Guess the two realities end up crossing over, and Domino and Flint find themselves in this AU, meeting their much-cheerier and more effeminate selves (no, that’s not like, the joke of the situation). The joke is each side thinks the other is Scary and Probably Secretly Evil but they end up being Good Friends Actually :]

anyhow. the biggest difference between Mahjong and Domino is while Domino is sorta... driven to try and ignore their issues, Mahjong decided to straighten their shit out and go through therapy. They’re still in recovery and prolly will never be, like, neurotypical levels of Okay, but they’re much better off than Domino. They take care of themself, often having dedicated “self care days” where they just. do nice stuff for themself. And they’re a little rattled by how bad-off Domino really is--and they kinda take it upon themself to do their best to help Domino.

UHHH i think thats all ... i might have forgotten some stuff but i do plan to maybe. draw some more stuff if this post gets positive reactions.

If he closes his eyes, it’s almost the same.

The sensation of fingertips gently forming an imperfect circle on the skin of his back — the way it’s almost like a caress, a gesture silently implying safety from all ends; worry unwelcome.

It’s instinctual, the way Isak’s eyes close at the feeling. He’s transported back to an easier time, a time when worry was, indeed, most unwelcome, and his heart didn’t feel the pressure so harshly it feels like it’s about to cave in at any moment. None of this was scary, none of this was plausible — out of his reach, the reality of the world outside the sensation. Escapism in its purest, rawest form.

Even doesn’t know — at least, Isak doesn’t think he knows. He’ll do his best to hide it from him when he can; he hasn’t been able to summon the courage to ask him to stop, though he’s not afraid Even will probe any further than what Isak offers as a surface explanation — he’s never asked twice, something for which Isak is eternally grateful. No, he’s afraid that if he asks, Even will stop. And then whatever momentary comfort is brought by this, the simplest of gestures, will never return to him.

One day, Even’s fingertips stop mid-motion, momentarily distracted by something on his phone — Isak doesn’t realize he’s holding his breath in anticipation until he lets it out, deep and slow, when Even seems satisfied with what he’s seen and resumes.

It’s too much to ask that Even didn’t notice, obviously — Isak wasn’t subtle about it this time, he doesn’t think, and so he closes his eyes and reminds himself that in the slight scratch of Even’s fingernails against his skin, and in the realm of this simple, quiet gesture, he is safe. If he thinks backwards, he is safe.

Even doesn’t say anything for a moment. Then, “Does it feel good?”

Yes, Isak wants to reply immediately. More than you’ll ever know.

“It tickles, kinda,” Isak says instead. “But in a good way.”

“Hm,” Even hums in response. The motion of his fingertips haven’t once missed a beat. “It’s just — I notice your muscles kind of relax when I do this.”

Isak bites the inside of his cheek, making sure to keep his eyes closed. “Maybe I need a massage,” he quips, and Even huffs a breathy laugh.

“I used to do this to Nina and Gunnar,” he explains. “When they were younger. It helped them sleep when they were having trouble.”

His niece and his nephew. Isak wants to make a joke about how weird it is to be comparing him to family members right now, but — well, that would make Isak quite the hypocrite, wouldn’t it?

Not that Even would know.

“Well, if you’re trying to do that to me,” Isak mumbles. “It’s working.”

Even snorts. “My master plan. Lull you to sleep with the power of my fingers.”

There’s a short pause.

“Dirty.”

“Yeah, as soon as I said it—”

Isak’s whole body shakes with laughter, face burying further into Even’s chest, eyes still closed. “I don’t know why you’d want me to sleep, though. We’d have much less fun if I slept every time.”

Even says nothing for a moment. Then another. It’s enough to make Isak wonder if he should look up, make sure everything’s okay.

“Silly,” Even mutters. His fingertips break pattern, very, very slightly, for half a second. “I just think you should sleep more.”

Isak breathes in. Even smells of sex and sweat. No matter how much Isak enjoys Even’s company, the scent is unpleasant.

“I sleep plenty.” A lie.

“I know.” Another lie.

Even’s fingertips are suddenly drawing a misshapen circle on his back, though Isak can’t figure out what’s driving him to do so. The shape is consistent, almost like he’s making the same detour every time.

It still feels familiar, and yet, different.

Isak carefully allows his eyes to open, bracing himself for the feeling of familiarity and safety to leave him.

His eyes remain open for the remainder of their time together.

Surprisingly, the feeling never leaves him.

12 ‘Unpopular’ Viddy Game Opinions

I’ve seen this topic floating around a lot, but didn’t think I had enough ‘unpopular but maybe not’ opinions about games to make a post. Turns out I do! So if you see this and I say something blasphemous, remember it’s just my opinion and my personal experiences with the games I list. Hope you enjoy or hey, maybe even agree with some of this!

Note: Can’t stress enough. This is just me. Also, spoilers under the cut!

12. The opening of Kingdom Hearts II isn’t as terrible as everyone says

Okay, so it’s not brilliant, but at the same time, I don’t think it’s the worst. For those not in the know, KH2′s opening is a basically a massive slog where you play as a character you don’t know or care about with seemingly no real link to the events of the previous game. The general consensus is that there’s some interesting stuff in here, but it’s buried among endless dialogue that really doesn’t mean much. And they’re right, but I really think there’s some great stuff here that people tend to gloss over. The music and the motif of Twilight Town is atmospheric, there’s some genuinely intriguing plot elements that are woven into Roxas’ story and believe it or not, the stuff that happens here is intrinsic to the rest of the game. So yeah, it drags on a little, but I don’t think KH2 would be miles better without this opening.

11. I loved Breath of the Wild’s final boss

One of the problems I see talked about with Breath of the Wild is that the boss fights are fairly mediocre, especially the very last one, Dark Beast Ganon. And I couldn’t disagree more. I think every boss in the game is wonderfully crafted, intense, challenging and great for testing you on what you’ve learned throughout the game by encouraging you to make creative use of your slate powers and the flurry rush technique. And while Mr. Pig Man at the end here is sort of easy and short, it serves as a brilliantly epic finale to damn near perfect game. While the difficulty is mostly gone after the mammoth fight with Calamity Ganon, it’s still just as intense as you frantically fire off arrows into the massive beast in front of you. Plus, the design of this thing is one of the best looking monsters in the game, so I really don’t understand the dislike for this ending.

10. I really like Crash of the Titans

Okay, so maybe childhood nostalgia has something to do with this pick, but every Crash fan I’m aware of seems to hate this game. But I don’t really know where the hate comes from! I played the PS2 version of this and I thought it was a genuinely fun 3D platformer with a variety of locations, good visuals, well-designed boss battles and even a vague story you can sort of follow! The game’s main gameplay feature is also brilliantly integrated, as using Aku Aku to possess various monsters throughout the game keeps everything interesting. One thing I will say though, that tiger dude you have to fight about halfway through is the most annoying thing I’ve ever had to endure in a game.

9. Life Is Strange: Before the Storm is BAD

I loved Life Is Strange when it first dropped, so I was beyond excited when they announced a prequel from Chloe’s perspective. But I really think they dropped the ball and they dropped it hard. But everyone else seems to adore this game! For me, this wasn’t a touch on the original. For a start, they dropped out one of the main mechanics of the first game, the time travel, which they then replaced with a much less interesting ‘Backtalk’ feature, which was then only used about twice throughout the game. Instead of interesting, developed characters reacting to genuinely dangerous or heartfelt situations, it felt to me like a bunch of one-dimensional teenagers who are edgy for the sake of being edgy. Chloe spends the majority of the game being a dick to her mother and bunking off class to spend time with Rachel, who she has literally known for like a day and their sudden relationship drops out of nowhere. Not that I didn’t enjoy the emotional moments of their relationship, it just didn’t feel like it stemmed from anywhere, unlike Max and Chloe from the first game. And the game’s attempts at villains were also rubbish compared to the first, with Damien (random scary knife guy who doesn’t really tie into the plot that much) and Eliot (who doesn’t appear for the whole game and suddenly goes full incel on Chloe when she breaks into Rachel’s house). Yeah I think you can tell I had some problems with this one.

8. Dishonored: Death of the Outsider was also a hot mess

I LOVE the Dishonored series. The first game and its DLCs are amazing, the second game was arguably even better. And then this happened. In this one, you play as Billie Lurk, a character I love, and Daud comes back, a character I also love. But both of them are incredibly badly written and it doesn’t feel like there’s any development to them or even much reason for them to do what they’re doing. This entry took the mystery surrounding the Outsider and basically did a big poo on it, giving us the revelation that he was apparently HUMAN this whole time. I think that was the nail in the coffin that made me sort of think this was a bit rubbish. While the combat and side missions were as brilliant as ever, the level designs felt less creative than other entries in the series and lacked variety or colour, all the side characters were entirely forgettable and to wrap it all up, they killed Daud offscreen. Out of nowhere, they just killed him, mentioned it offhand in a cutscene and that was that. If you like this game, fair enough, but it kind of baffles me that more people don’t see this in the game.

7. Mario Galaxy 2 is good. It’s just sort of good

Some people cite this as being one of the best 3D platformers of all time, and that’s fair enough, but I just kind of see this one as ‘good’. Sure, it has a good, satisfying control scheme for the most part, the level design is creative and the bosses and puzzles are pretty standard for a Mario title, but still enjoyable. However, sometimes, the floaty physics and weird knockback effect from jumping into walls led to quite a lot of unfair deaths, especially if I’d been punished for messing up already by losing a life, only to then immediately be punished again by falling into the void. Plus, I found Yoshi near impossible to control at some points with the motion controls. So yeah, this one is genuinely enjoyable, but I don’t think I’d personally put it with the best of all time.

6. I LOVE Dragon Quest IX TO DEATH

This is a game in a legendary franchise that consistently almost always see ranked at the very bottom of the pile in the series. But I really don’t understand how or why. Okay so your protagonist and party are basically silent and don’t have a lot of character, but I don’t see this as a reason to totally write off the game! The side characters, villains and story are all amazing and well-developed, the world is huge, colourful and interesting, the monsters are brilliantly creative and Dragon Quest’s signature lame sense of humour is gratefully carried through the whole game. The music is always brilliant and atmospheric and the bosses are just as memorable as each character you meet. What was everyone’s problem?? This is genuinely one of the best RPGs I’ve ever played and if you haven’t had a chance to pick it up, it is so, so worth it.

5. Sonic Adventure is a broken mess

So before I kick this one off, I’m not someone who hates Sonic and I’m not here to slate the whole franchise, but considering this game is often considered to be one of the best in the series, I thought it was definitely worth addressing. When I first played this, I literally couldn’t believe this was made in 1998, AFTER Mario 64 and yet it’s so broken! The physics and control scheme are totally wonky and hard to control, the unending amount of glitches make a fair amount of the stages almost unplayable, the voice acting and facial animation is cringey and oddly broken and yet, this was all on the Dreamcast. The most powerful console of the time. And I don’t think I even need to mention how boring some of the later stages get, with Big the Cat’s fishing section being the main offender. I can’t vouch for Adventure 2 as I haven’t had a chance to play yet, but I really hope it isn’t like this.

4. Dragon Age Origins is the best Dragon Age

Dragon Age has always been a popular RPG series, but I think it properly shot to fame once Inquisition dropped in 2014. And don’t get me wrong, I liked Inquisition! The world was colourful and expansive and the characters were fairly memorable, but I still think the best experience you can get is in the series’ first entry, Origins. While it’s pretty easy to see that it’s slightly dated considering it’s ten years old now, the best characters and story in the series I think is here. Each companion you recruit is varied and developed and the story wraps up brilliantly in the end with each companion and army you meet playing a different role in the final battle. Plus, I kind of can’t forgive Inquisition for making Leliana lose her sense of humour and making her kinda boring.

3. Oblivion is better than Skyrim

Okay so I’m not sure exactly how unpopular this is, but I just thought Oblivion was miles better than Skyrim ended up being. Just to clear it up, I still love Skyrim and I thought it built on the series’ combat system and variety of enemies really well and still provided an enjoyable experience. But Oblivion feels like more of an adventure you feel at home in. The story is dense and full of twists and turns. The soundtrack has some of the most atmospheric music I’ve ever heard, the world is full of bright colours, each city is vastly different and has its own lore and I found some of this to be absent from Skyrim. I’d go into more detail, but I think the simple fact is that Oblivion had so much more I liked than Skyrim.

2. I don’t think The Witcher III is all that amazing (in some regards)

This by no means says that I don’t like the game, because I do, but I think it has more flaws than people let on. Now, don’t get me wrong, a lot of the stuff people praise about this game is true, the quests are in-depth and masterfully crafted, the characters, especially Geralt, are extremely memorable. In fact, Geralt is one of my favourite game protagonists. But most of the problems I had were in terms of the gameplay. The combat, while fast-paced and satisfying, can sometimes feel a little finicky, so a lot of precision is needed. However, I felt that the world itself didn’t particularly interest me and the music is often ambient but outside of combat, isn’t anything special. Mostly though, the leveling system I found to be a bit wonky. I did absolutely everything I could in the first area of the game; all the side quests, treasure hunts, killed a whole bunch of monsters etc. And then I arrive in the second area and find I’m too underleveled to do literally anything. The majority of the quests have too high a level cap, a lot of the monsters kill me very quickly. And because the bulk of EXP farming is in the quests, I’m sort of stuck in an endless loop of constantly not being strong enough to do anything. On top of that, all my equipment keeps breaking and I’m finding that repair kits are extremely few and far between and that makes me even WEAKER. It’s something I’m gonna need to persevere with I think, but hey, this is just my experience with it.

1. Ocarina of Time, as amazing as it is, may have overstayed its welcome as best game of all time

I reckon this might be the most controversial, so it’s number 1. Let me preface this by saying I really like Ocarina and I agree that it was innovative for the RPG genre at the time. There’s a hell of a lot in this game that we have to thank for the games we have today. But considering how far the gaming industry has come since then and the sheer amount of high quality games we’ve been getting year after year, is still fair to call this the best game ever? When more recent games have taken what Ocarina started and built upon it? Games like Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption II, God of War all gave us expansive, beautiful worlds and a story you can really get stuck into. And all the time, more and more games of this caliber are coming out. So yes, of course Ocarina of Time deserves a place in the hall of fame, it was revolutionary and still holds up really well today! I just can’t help but think there have been plenty of games since then, as flawed as some of them may be, that have improved upon the formula tenfold since Ocarina’s release.

Coming out letter to my mom. (FTM) At the start of my transition, I wanted to go by a name that started with an “A”because my birthname did. All the rest of it is basically the same.

THE TRUTH:

I didn’t scream “I am a boy” at my parents. Honestly, my mother (specifically) controlled a lot of what I did, who I hung out with, and what I wore as a child. I believe she has/had an idea about what she wanted out of a daughter since I was born, and really just lived through me. I think she eventually had to give me room to make my own decisions, later in life. I didn’t come out until I was 16, although I had spent 6 months prior to even coming out thinking about my gender identity. I was extremely sheltered. I want you guys to know that I didn’t know what being transgender was until I was a freshman in high school and met my best friend (who is STILL MY BEST FRIEND TODAY) who identified as Non-binary gender fluid. I had never really met someone AFAB that lived to be anything other than female. With that came the knowledge that sometimes, men don’t necessarily have to have penises and I can wear whatever I’m comfortable with. I used to be religious in middle school (raised Christian) but I never found god. It never made sense to me how so many people can put their faith in other people’s ideas of what god is (the Bible) but not listen when their real CHILD comes to them and tells them that they feel uncomfortable in their gender identity. I also came out as bisexual in middle school, after meeting a girl I had a fancy for. To which my mother sobbed and cried and asked how she had failed as a parent. I remember loving pink, it was my favorite color. Pink, purple, blue. My top 3. Now it’s blue, pink, purple but basically the same. I had a pink room, loved hello kitty, let my mom curl my hair with little curlers at night so I could wake up and be somebody different the next day. My brother played with carebears and my Barbie dolls more than I did as a child. I remember a toy gun and handcuffs. I was fairly experimental as a child, I did: Girl Scouts, swimming, piano, soccer, ballet, cheerleading, and more honestly. I always got “boy” toys at McDonald’s (I mean cmon they’re cooler) I just was kinda everywhere. I feel like that’s easier for someone AFAB to be. My brother was harassed by my family for liking girly things but I was never shown that I couldn’t like stereotypical “boy things” by extended family. My mother however in the line at McDonalds I could never forget, turned and looked at me (baseball cap backwards tank top and shorts)and said “So, what?” “Are you batting for the other team” implying that because of the clothes I liked to wear I would be a lesbian. My mother (like I said, kinda controlling and extremely narcissistic) when I was allowed to cut my hair super short for the first time I was 16. Afterwards she has said things like: “but you’re so pretty how could you have cut your hair” “you looked so nice with long hair” I never felt akin to femininity. I was actually VERY uncomfortable with it. I hated being the “weaker” gender. I never wanted my nails painted. It was torture. I acted like makeup and and nail polish was torture, the hairbrush was my enemy. I used to just put my hair up in a low ponytail every day as I got older. I knew she’d never let me cut it all off. Basically, other than wanting to grow up strong and tough and not liking to be treated like a female, I was female. There were parts of being female I didn’t really have a problem with, and honestly that’s why I didn’t come out for so long. I wasn’t in a house or raised by people I knew would accept anything other than me being their “little girl” I was a daddies girl. So between my lack of understanding of where my feelings towards my gender roles were coming from, being encouraged by my family to be girly, not being exposed to gender diversity (or anything queer), and my controlling mother, I remained in the dark about who I was.

TRIGGER WARNING:::(abuse)::::: I was never close with my mother, and actually hated her growing up. To this day she is the most judge mental, self-centered woman I know. My father was funny, charismatic, and lost his shit sometimes. I like to say, 90% of the time he was amazing. We made jokes and could literally finish each other’s sentences. But honestly my father, 10% of the time was abusive. Most of my abuse in my life was covert (narcissistic abuse from my mother) and verbal/emotional/barely physical abuse from my father. He’s 6”3’ 350 lbs and very loud and scary, especially to a young child. He punched a hole in my wall, he threw a remote at a wall and shattered it to pieces, he threatened to kill my dog with a baseball bat in front of me. Which I swear to god he would have done if I wasn’t holding my dog, protecting him. These moments were few and far between, but they were riddled with insults and almost always left me with less than I started with. My father did spank my brother and I, and one time he clapped my brother so well that he left a purple hand mark on his butt. My mother told my father she’d take us away if that happened again. My father never left marks. He never had to, he was so big and would just get up in my face and scream at me. He made me feel helpless. Because he was invading my space I felt physically threatened, and he never actually had to touch me and leave bruises because that threat was already implied by invading my space. I was so young, but I always knew my family wasn’t right. Finally at 16, I stood up to my father for the first time. I didn’t care if he was bigger than me, I didn’t care if I would lose, I was willing to fight for me. Anyway, long story short the police were called because we were screaming at each other in front of his apartment building. I’m not going to say I didn’t fuck up as a teenager, but I never deserved the pressure and the abuse he was dishing out and had dished out my whole life. I knew that. I cut him out of my life just after turning 16, by then I had been questioning my identity. It became easier after leaving my father to fall into who I was. My father is FAIRLY religious and my mother claims to be but she never talks about god, she never prays, and now that my father and her are divorced I don’t think she’s been inside a church since. Losing my father was a lot, despite his abuse he and I were really close and had really similar personalities. The reality of abuse isn’t “well, now I see them as an abuser so now none of that good stuff is left it’s all tainted” I had to struggle with losing someone very important in my life at a young age, for myself.

Arguments against me being trans:

My family has been a bit divided in responding to me coming out. By now, it’s been about 4 years.

My mother and her side of the family are in denial. They don’t understand how I can’t be a “lesbian that just likes boy things”. They don’t use my name or pronouns.

My father, what little communication I have with him now, is bewildered. He and I had a discussion this past Christmas where I brought up what his abuse did to me mentally and he apologized but then tried to say “well what about your part in all of this” and said that I was hanging out with crazy depressed people, cutting myself, doing drugs, (I was smoking weed and I’ve tried acid like once piss off) and was sneaking out. Yeah. I did do all of that BUT GUESS WHAT. IM 20. I go where I wanna go. I fuck who I wanna fuck. I smoke what I want and guess what? It’s not any different from when I was 16 except now I don’t have parents up my ass telling me what to do. His argument basically was that I need to own up to what I did too and that fucking angered me. You don’t apologize and then go “well what about you” that’s not an apology. That’s deflection and honestly I don’t think I need to apologize because my parents were super controlling. I was just trying to do what I wanted and they didn’t like it. He and I have talked about me being trans and he pretty much thinks I’m certifiable. Doesn’t use my name or pronouns.

My brother: Ethan, my brother and I have always been close. He’s 17 now, and he had a different reaction to me being trans. Of all of my family he was the most receptive to my pleas of gender dysphoria and he suffers with anxiety so he gets stuff. But alas, after asking him if he’d call me by my name and pronouns (after 4 years of being out) he thinks that I am the one that has an issue with society. I told him I was starting T soon and he said: “Hrt won’t lessen all the things that come with being transgender. If you feel like doing hormones is the best for you then do it, but from a logical standpoint I think there just needs to be more thickening of skin” he claimes that if I try hard enough I could be fine living as female. Doesn’t use my name or pronouns.

None of my family supports me. None of my family understands. And none of them ever will. I have been out for four fucking years. I can’t tell you how frustrating family rejection can be. I have cried so much at the idea of not having a supportive family. I feel like I was ripped away from a beautiful life somewhere and thrust into this mess.

Honestly though, it doesn’t matter, the world keeps spinning and I keep finding people who love and accept me for who I truly am. I have made peace with my family’s lack of acceptance. It’s made me stronger and more compassionate towards others. Made me want to be better than them. I am actually going to start hormones soon, and on top of other fears I have, will be cutting my family out of my life. I can’t be 25 with a full beard and getting misgendered by my family. I can’t do it. They may feel like I’m going too far, that I don’t have to do this, but I do. I’m not doing this because I didn’t get too much attention as a kid or my mom favored my brother over me, I’m not doing this because it’s cool, I’m not doing this because I’m bored, I’m not doing this because I hate myself or anyone else. This is AFFIRMATION. Sometimes, cutting people who can’t see you for who your really are out of your life is affirming too.

Guys, girls, people, keep your head up. Things get better, I know. I thought life was never going to get better so I know that’s what it can feel like. But it does. Never ever let someone control your life or who you are. You’re beautiful/handsome/amazing! You deserve to be comfortable in your own skin and to love who you are. I am getting there, we all are.

thoughts on lost butterfly (with a lot of spoilers)

ok so i just got back from watching fate stay night heavens feel lost butterfly and here are my thoughts:

short version: I loved it!

long version under the cut (with spoilers so be careful!)

this movie wasnt perfect (could it ever be?) but i does most of the things right, esp stuff i wasnt happy with in the vn, so let me tell you what i loved and what not.

what i didnt love (ive got three main gripes that im gonna get out of the way first):

there should have been illya scenes in the first movie, because it ended up hurting the second movie. the shirou and illya scene in the park (before the rain scene) lacked impact and meaning because these two hadnt actually gotten to know each other much.

there was no follow up to saber alter appearing. shirou didnt deal with that at all (they may put that in the third movie tho)

beautiful aria...why did they cut most of it..thats like one of my fave scenes in the vn, and they cut out shirou and sakuras conversation part of it completely..that actually makes me mad

theres other smaller stuff that i didnt love (freaking fanservice), but i will keep that for another time

thankfully there was more stuff i loved so lets get to those:

close to the beginning was a new (baby) sakura scene added, that hurt and scared me lot...my poor child..

rider and sakura are great together. rider doing everything for sakura is even greater. rider saying she LOVES sakura and wants her to live? the greatest.

the rain scene was all it should be and more even. bc they added the sweet scene of shirou pressing sakuras key to his home (which shed lost before) into her hand and them holding hands like that while hugging...just yes thank you ufotable

everything they did with the shadow?? so good and scary..and sad actually

they also did some stuff with sakuras actual own shadow to show sth was wrong with her..that was so fucking scary and unsettling in a good way

i didnt think id ever say this but..i loved the sex scene. fanservice aside (and i had to ignore a lot), on an emotional and intimate level they really nailed it (hah). the kiss..the hug..the handholding..sakura being vulnerable about her insecurities and shirou being so sweet and understanding..yea..

saber alter vs. berserker looked really fucking good

archer throwing those small little glances towards illya...sadness..both archer and shirou protecting illya was very sweet

rin and sakura scene in the kitchen..adorable..the only time i like tsunderin

but the scene where sakura finds out about rin knowing shirou for as long as she does? really heartbreaking..made me hurt a lot..sakura my baby..

sakura vs. gil was amazing...theres a part where sakura is regenerating and it lookes straight out of a horror zombie flick..so good..and gil died fast..so fast you couldnt even see except for sakuras big ‘nom’

speaking of this scene: the pseudo dream sequence of sakura where shes kinda alice in wonderland but with a sinister twist? what a way to show her dealing with what shes doing as a shadow..that was unsettling in such an innocent way..

in general i felt they dealt with sakuras psyche really well, showing her slowly lose her mind and her complicated contradicting thoughts and fears

also really sad to watch was both of them (shirou/sakura) being in denial so fucking hard..them pretending everything was fine out of desperation hurt me so much..my babies..

rider medusa scene was super nice and then super sad when sakura hurt herself

i dont remember for sure,, but i dont think there was a fujimura scene anywhere near the end was there? but it was nice addition..also probably the reason beautiful aria ended so shortly

which while im at it, was still appropriately sad and heartwrenching and made me want to bawl my eyes out but still..

sakura killing shinji earned her the whole theaters applause. very well deserved. and the process of her turning into dark sakura looked so cool and unsettling too, i cant wait for her to fuck everyone up in the last movie!!!!!!!

ok thats it for now bc this is super long already but yeah as i said i loved the movie, i want to rewatch it already and i cant wait for the last one!!
