"Are you sure this is even a good idea?" Y/N bit her lip nervously, letting the hometown hero - Daniel Ricciardo - drag her down the paddock.
"Bit too late for second thoughts now, isn't it?" Daniel quipped, nodding his head at a passing mechanic.
"I'm not having second thoughts, I just... he didn't even invite me here."
"Which is the whole point of a surprise," Daniel pointed out. He turned back to look at her briefly, "By the way, where's your friend?"
At that, Y/N giggled, "With Lando. Those two have been joined at the hip ever since he picked us up from the airport."
"So it was a date!" Daniel crowed triumphantly.
"Obviously!" Y/N snickered. "What else could it have been?"
"He was telling everyone you were there too after the McLaren admin made that post."
Y/N scoffed, "Now, that's a lie! I was dead asleep in our hotel room. Cassie snuck out and I didn't find out until I woke up and saw that Lando sent me that picture, saying she was in good hands."
"I'm not surprised. I wouldn't want to be caught dead on a date with Lando either." Daniel nodded, mock thoughtfully.
Y/N giggled again, "I don't think that's why she didn't tell me."
He hummed, but refrained from saying anything else as they reached the Ferrari garage, bustling as it was with mechanics, engineers, and strategists.
Y/N came to a full stop as he called out, "Oi! Frenchman! Over here!"
An accented voice yelled back, "I'm Monegasque!", as Charles Leclerc emerged from the sea of red, clad in his own scarlet racing gear.
"Same thing," Daniel grinned, but Charles' attention was no longer on him.
"Y/N?" He blurted out in shock.
Y/N lifted a hand nervously and waved, "Hi?"
Charles stood there, staring at her like he'd seen a ghost, until someone behind him shoved him forward and he snapped out of his reverie.
"Uh, hi! Hi!" He laughed, hovering in front of her uncertainly. "What are you doing here?"
"Lando and Daniel invited me," Y/N bit her lip, cheeks reddening. "They, um- we thought it might be a nice surprise."
He didn't say anything for a moment, but just as she was getting ready to backtrack, his face broke out into a beaming smile and he pulled her into a half-hug - an uncertain one, the kind you give someone if you know them, but you don't know them enough to give them a full hug.
"Welcome to Ferrari," he stated loudly as camera flashes went off, pictures and videos recording the moment that would go viral on Twitter and Instagram for the entirety of that day. "The best team on the grid!"

"Then everyone would think you had sex with me" NOT TO MENTION VOLUNTEERING AS A COPARENT? ohhh kon bby 🥺 lowkey want clark to recommend bruce as a sex-positive role model. batman knows exactly what its like to enjoy sex and have a surprise child
"Dude, the only reason we've never had sex is because you guys all still think I'm four," Bart says, rolling his eyes in exasperation. "Which is really funny coming from a guy who's technically even younger than me, for the record, but whatever. And, well, also I guess we've never had sex because you were keeping a lid on all this anyway. But otherwise I would've climbed you like, a million years ago, subjectively speaking."
"When you thought I had a dick, yeah," Kon says tightly.
"Actually I didn't really know what you had?" Bart admits with a careless little shrug. "Like I usually assume that Cassie has a cunt and Tim has a cock, but I always just make up random stuff when I jerk it to you, because like what do I know about Kryptonian genitalia or whatever, right? And also it's fun. But I do kinda prefer the options where I'd get to fuck you so this isn't really a dealbreaker for me. Actually this is pretty much the opposite of a dealbreaker for me because this implies I could fuck you, well . . . you know. Full speed. Since presumably your, like, natural lubricant would stand up to that a lot better than the store-bought shit does. Like just given your specific set of superpowers and everything."
Kon briefly glazes over at that thought, because that thought is . . . a thought, alright.
"Uh," he says.

I've been seeing story stuff that's not in your fic or comic. Like Tari's bite marks and her having to rescue the boys from the plex. Will they be fleshed out later down the road?
Yeah some stuff has only been stated in comments or asks since we haven’t had the time to write or draw something for it, that or it’s just minor things like how the boys function and such or background info that isn’t as needed
The bite marks will be brought up in fics that are to be made at some point, as to how she got them, they were during her and the boys “first time”, they all had their own private time with her and they all got a chomp on her lol
Little bit of marking their “spot” on her, she’s just upset she can’t do back (and that they got her in the span of a week, Vanessa didn’t let her live it down but she can’t say much when she has her own) bby cuz even if she left a dent or writing on them at the time they were still at the Plex when that happened but maybe after they get out… I didn’t think about after now I gotta talk to feral about how Tari can leave a “claim” on them once they live with her lmao
For the saving the boys from the Plex, we were going at first with Tari managing to drag them out during the fire but after Ruin was released she of course said “now we gotta use it for the angst” and I’m a simp and love my hurt/comfort even if it makes me cry so I said yes
When she drags them out it’s a few days after the events of ruin however and Cassie will be kinda involved due to fact that they help get her and Roxy out from under the rubble but after that we don’t have much planned for her, during the rescue missions is also when Tari will have a little uhhh change let’s call it, where she gets the side effect of black hair and gold eyes
Gregory however…. Still fleshing that out but we don’t like him lmao, we still do have the idea of Freddy adopting him but we’re sticking the little maniac into therapy Lol

FNAF Roots Remain!AU out of context.
William: My life is so boring, I'm a literal psychopath, I only married my wife because she obeys me-
Michael: *Is born.*
William: OMG my heart is actually beating, my skin is clear, my crops are watered, life is amazing.
Henry: Ah yes, my son and daughter, Sammy and Charlie, were both almost killed.
Michael: *Hinting that it was William* And Father wasn't around us either time, HMMM.
Henry: Yes, that's strange. That must mean that he's at work!
Michael: *Facepalms* Henry, I swear to god. HE WORKS WITH YOU.
Henry: ... My business partner and old college friend can do no wrong :D
Michael, possessing the animatronic he made called Maikkol at the Mega Pizzaplex: I was not aware that I was a fan favorite.
Glamrock Freddy, Glamrock Chica, Glamrock Bonnie, Glamrock Foxy, Roxanne, Monty, the Daycare Attendant, and the Security Marionette: Dude.
Michael: Hey Evan, why don't we have your 10th birthday at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza instead of Fredbear's Family Diner? I know you don't like Fredbear and Cinnabon...
Evan: But I wanna get over my fear of the springlock animatronics! Just like I did with the others! Because you made Foxy, and Foxy is good!
Michael: *Sobbing* This child is so precious, why was I a complete ass last time-
Evan: *Confused noises.*
Elizabeth: Hey Michael, is your friend Scott coming over?
Michael: What? No.
Michael, after thinking: ... Why?
Elizabeth: *Shrugs* No reason. *Skips off.*
Michael: HMMMMM.
Evan, being selectively mute, but talking to people he trusts: Y'know what? I love you guys!
Michael and Elizabeth: Aww! We love you too!
Evan, when William walks into the room: *Signing in ASL* And him too, I guess.
Michael: *Signing frantically in ASL* NO. YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOVE HIM.
William, who never learned sign because he's a bastard towards anyone who isn't Michael: I feel attacked, but I don't know why.
William, wearing the Cinnabon suit: Hey kids! My name is Cinnabon! How would you like to play some games with me?
Jeremy: Isn't that just a golden Bonnie?
William: Child I was the first. If anything, Bonnie is just a blue and purple Cinnabon.
Jeremy: Alright, sounds legit.
Michael: *Swoops in like a hawk* There you are, Jeremy! We need to get you back to your mom! *Looks up* Oh hey, Cinnabon! I thought you were supposed to be resting in the back!
William:
Michael:
William: I'ma just... go... *Leaves.*
Michael: *Working on coding Foxy's AI with Glamrock AI specifications.*
William: *Obsessive and proud dad noises.*
Jeremy Fitzgerald gets hired at the New and Improved Freddy Fazbear's Pizza:
Michael: OMG little Jer that I saved from my father like 2 years ago?
Jeremy: OMG it's my savior, I wanna be your friend!
Michael: *Tears up* Someone wants to be my friend?
Scott, over the phone: What am I, uh, chopped liver?!
Mangle, hiding on the ceiling:
William, as Dave Miller, walking in for his night shift:
Mangle: I'M GONNA GET YOU, IT MAY NOT BE TODAY, OR TOMORROW, OR ANYTIME SOON, BUT I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE-
Michael: *Standing off to the side, wearing the Foxy mask his little siblings got him off the side of his face.*
Scott: *Stands with Michael, feeling out of place wearing a Chica mask Michael jokingly got him off to the side of his face.*
Cassidy's older brother and Cassie's grandfather: *Walking around, wearing the Bonnie mask, trying to grab some candy from this random kid's birthday party.*
Some asshole with a Freddy mask: *Goes near Evan.*
Michael: *Naruto runs over there* DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH HIM-
William Afton: *Gets springlocked in Cinnabon.*
Michael: *Very sarcastic* OH NO, WHERE DID OUR FATHER GO.
Elizabeth: Wait, Father's gone? I CAN DO THINGS NOW-
Evan: *Just being a bby and vibing while latching onto Michael.*
Henry: Oh no, I sure hope that everything in this pizzeria I created gets burned to hell and back.
Michael: *Possesses Maikkol.*
Scraptrap: *Mingles with Mimic programming, and practically now has a split personality.*
Scrap Ballora (replaces Scrap Baby): *Yeets herself into the void, probably to come back somehow.*
LEFTE: *Becomes possessed by Cassidy*
Charlie: *Possesses the Security Marionette.*
Molten Freddy: *Becomes the Tangle.*
Henry: *Wakes up in the Daycare Attendant* ... Well this didn't go according to plan.
Henry: *Sees Evan possessing Glamrock Foxy, Scott possessing Glamrock Chica, Jeremy possessing Glamrock Bonnie, and Fritz possessing Monty* ... This really didn't go according to plan.
Maikkol, standing next to Glamrock Freddy: You know, I think you are more popular with the kids than me.
Kids: *Come to Maikkol more often than Glamrock Freddy.*
Maikkol: ... I retract my previous statement.
Gregory, goes into the Mega Pizzaplex with his foster family: Oh wow this is big!
Gregory, meeting Cassie alone at her birthday: Here have a tissue!
Roxy: *Sees this and then tells the other animatronics.*
Maikkol, showing up out of nowhere, somehow before the message is sent: Happy birthday! Someone told me that these Superstars deserve some cake and ice cream!
Glamrock Foxy, Glamrock Chica, Glamrock Bonnie, and Monty showing up after the message like normal animatronics: Yeah, let's get this party started!
Gregory, seeing Glamrock Freddy glitch and power down on stage: Guess he wasn't made by Michael Afton, whoever made him was an IDIOT.
Gregory: *Sees a worried Maikkol peeking out from backstage at Glamrock Freddy* Now there is a TRUE animatronic.
Gregory: *Also sees a female night guard with blonde hair with a live taser behind Maikkol.*
Gregory: I don't trust her!
Michael/Maikkol: *Wakes up after being tased with warning of something alive in stomach hatch* OMG it's my Superstar!
Glamrock Foxy (possessed by Evan): *Runs into Maikkol's green room to frantically sign to Maikkol that he has a kid in his stomach hatch.*
Michael/Maikkol: On 3. 1... 2... 3!
*Gregory tumbles out of Maikkol's hatch, while Cassie is seen in Glamrock Foxy's.*
Michael/Maikkol: ... Wait why are there two kids- *Panics.*

My Papa, My Stardust Chapter 4
Tumblr media
Previous Chapter // AO3
Well, hello there.
It's been, *checks watch* , more than five years since I've updated this story. There was a whole pandemic shoved in the middle of that gap, and I didn't even cram some of this story into lockdown. Cassian Andor has gotten his own show since then! (I liked Andor, honestly, but that canon didn't exist when I wrote this story and, obviously, I have a general disregard for canon anyway. So, we will pay little if not no respect to that show in this fic.
I come with no explanation, only that I got a new computer and in the process of switching over some files from the old to the new, I found the 50k unedited words I once wrote for NaNoWriMo and, well, it turns out continuing an idea you've already drafted is a lot easier than writing from scratch. I hope you enjoy the continuation!
Hyperspace, 5 BBY
“Do organics ever consider how much they miss out on while they sleep?”
Cassian wished he was unfamiliar with such a non sequitur from his droid, especially within the first hour he was awake. Especially when woken up aboard his U-Wing, which did nothing to inspire restful sleep. “Did you run into any Imperial patrols?”
“No,” Kaytuesso answered, turning a dial on the control panel, “But you may want to hear this.”
An Imperial broadcast crackled over the speakers. Cassian hated hearing them, but they generally provided good intel. Even if all news was thoroughly coated in propaganda before being released to the public, nuggets of the truth (or at least leads that needed to be investigated) came through.
A crisp, matter-of-fact announcer boomed out over the broadcast. “ .... are happy to announce the galactic terrorist known by the name Saw Gerrera has, at long last, been captured by the Empire. ”
Cassian’s eyes went wide. He attended several council meetings (always quiet, always observing) over the span of time Gerrera still considered himself a part of the Rebel Alliance. He had never spoken to the man, but Gerrera’s presence spoke for itself in any room he entered.
“How long has this been playing?”
The droid gave its best approximation of a shrug. “Half an hour. The same message has played repeatedly without variation.”
Half an hour. The news was still fresh then. Of all the times to be away from Rebel Intelligence…
“His forces have sown seeds of chaos in every planet they have touched, taken countless lives of Imperial citizens and caused too many to live in fear. No more shall the galaxy live in fear of this terrorist. His execution shall be broadcasted live, tomorrow…”
Saw Gerrera hadn’t been a member of the Alliance for a long time, Cassian knew. By some definitions, he was never a member at all, merely a nuisance in the side of the Alliance. Still, Gerrera stood as a symbol of rebellion and freedom for many. And for Cassian, he often made recruitment easier. After seeing the extreme lengths Gerrera took to fight the Empire, the Alliance seemed tame by comparison, and Cassian had little trouble convincing young and hopeful recruits their rebellious spirits would better serve the Alliance.
But watching the galaxy’s best known rebel be put to death would be a loss the Alliance could afford, ally or not.
“Has headquarters been in contact about this?” Cassian asked the droid, pulling open message channels on his datapad. Draven rarely sent messages while Cassian was in open space, worried about the chance of the message being intercepted, but such an important and public event would surely warrant something.
“We are already returning to base,” Kay answered, “Headquarters would likely not change our orders before we arrive.”
Kay was correct, Cassian discovered quickly. An unlabeled message sat unread in Cassian’s datapad, containing only a sensational headline about Gerrera’s capture. Draven had not added any additional instructions, no plan for a rescue or new coordinates to chart. Proceed as planned, the unvoiced orders said.
The droid glanced towards Cassian. “Should I alter our course?”
“No,” Cassian sighed. “Remain on course for Dantooine.”
Dantooine, 5 BBY
Davitis Draven did not support the rescue mission sent after Saw Gerrera. As far as the general was concerned, Gerrera was a hindrance to the Rebellion rather than an aide to it. Gerrera embodied the horror stories good Imperial mothers told their children at night; his profile decorated target boards at Imperial academies.
More personally, Gerrera caused him only headaches, but Draven was skilled at keeping his personal opinions concealed. So, despite his personal misgivings on the matter, Draven sat with other members of the Alliance brass, eyes glued to the holo portraying Gerrera’s supposed execution and subsequent rescue. Whether the partisan leader was returned to the Alliance in one piece fell somewhere down Draven’s personal hierarchy; keeping the remaining members, and their current base, secret and away from the probing eyes of the Empire, remained the most important.
Somewhere in the middle fell his curiosity of the Imperial scientist Galen Erso. The man was nothing short of a recluse -- nothing highly unusual compared to the scientists Draven had the opportunity to meet over the years, but still worthy of a study nonetheless. Erso’s name floated through intelligence files since the days of the Republic: a name always on the edge of a breakthrough, but never creating something noteworthy enough to become a household name.
Still, this whole ordeal with the scientist’s daughter appearing side by side with one of the galaxy’s fiercest freedom fighters piqued Draven’s interest -- as did the sight of the young woman flashing past the holo clothed as an Imperial officer. Gerrera was too paranoid for an Imperial spy to survive in his ranks for long, but other possible backstories for the girl seemed just as improbable.
Maybe he should ask Andor’s droid what the most likely scenario was. Force knows it would love the opportunity to tell him.
“Did you see the girl?” Draven asked Captain Andor. The captain had barely returned him a recruiting run in time to watch the execution live. With Gerrera aboard Idryssa Barruck’s ship and safely out of the atmosphere, Draven began planning his next steps forward. Let the X-Wings and ground troops remain in charge of maintaining the safety of the rebel base and ensuring Gerrera’s rescue mission wasn’t followed; Rebel Intelligence would be planning how to manipulate this brief show of power to their advantage.
“Galen Erso’s daughter?” The captain fell in line with Draven as he continued out of the war room. “I don’t believe she looked up during the entire ceremony. She’s been with Gerrera’s cadre for years.”
“But still strongly tied to the Imperials.” Draven lowered his voice before continuing. “I’m not sure what new arrangement will happen with Gerrera, but I need the info he has on that woman immediately.” She would either be a future asset to be exploited or a leak the Alliance would never be able to fill. Either way, Andor would be an excellent agent to follow up on the situation.
Captain Andor nodded, glancing towards the flow of traffic slowly returning to their original routines now that the spectacle of the day had ended.
“Get some rest, Captain Andor,” Draven ordered. The man had neither rest nor food between landing and watching the would-be execution. Likely his droid had received more care than he had in the meantime. “Dismissed.”
Eadu, 5 BBY
Rain had never tasted so sweet on Jyn’s skin.
She stepped out of the transport shuttle, flanked by two Imperial guards, and onto Eadu Flight Station’s tarmac. Releasing a shuddering breath, Jyn tilted her face towards the rain. Her hands were still bound, so she couldn’t wipe the water around, only inhale the sensation of the rivets running down, down her face. It felt cleansing to her soul.
Memories of Mama wandered across Jyn’s mind. Escaping the city planet of Coruscant and reconnecting with nature — with the Force — was Mama’s favorite thing. How many times had Jyn seen her mother do exactly this, the first time she was released from the prison of the city? Thinking of her made Jyn feel calmer as she escaped her most recent prison — only to walk into a newer one.
Her father waited at the end of the tarmac, taking shelter from the rain under the awning of the building. The guards nudged her towards him with rifles to her back, their touches more gentle than Jyn expected. Much to Jyn’s relief, Krennic was nowhere to be seen.
“Father,” Jyn greeted when she reached him. She ignored his flinch at her cold tone. “It’s been so long.”
“Jyn.” When he spoke, he only sounded exasperated. He still expects you to be a baby , Jyn reminded herself. He still hasn’t learned you’ve grown up. (She thought the punch to the jaw might be enough, but apparently whatever he’d learned of her then had faded along with that bruise.) He gestured at the stuncuffs around Jyn’s wrists, requesting one of the guards remove them. “Come with me. Let me show you the facility.”
“Will this prison cell come with more reliable lights than the last one?”
When Galen’s steps faltered with surprise at her words, Jyn found satisfaction in it.
    “What do you mean?”
“The wiring was surprisingly faulty for an Imperial building on Coruscant,” Jyn explained. Based on her tone, the rain outside would have been just as interesting of a topic. “It would flicker out for minutes or hours at a time. What’s the point of having world class technicians if they can’t keep the electricity working for your prisoners?”
As for the hours when the lights were on… Jyn would save that topic for another day.
“That shouldn’t have happened.” Galen reached for her arm, but Jyn sidestepped him, bumping into one of the guards. Her father stopped, his face serious. The traffic in the hallway was too crowded to stop here, pilots and ‘troopers and men whose uniforms matched her father’s shuffled both directions, yet none of them seemed bothered to step about the group, at least not when they saw who they were stepping around. “I was told…”
Worry or anger or whatever emotion had filled his eyes at her announcement vanished, and his eyes once again seemed distant as he swallowed. “Never mind that now. An unfortunate situation, but I’m sure the director did the best he could. You’re here now and that’s what really matters.”
“Why am I here?” Jyn asked. No one had given her any information since they’d pulled open her cell door. (The bright light from the adjoining room blinded her for a moment; the Death Troopers only seemed more intimidating, more massive among the shocking outline.) The Imperial uniform she’d worn to Saw’s execution was shoved into her hands — the guards hadn’t given her any semblance of privacy as she’d changed at gun point — and then she’d been ushered into a shuttle. She’d been in hyperspace for hours, her left hand cuffed to the wall of the ship, without anyone speaking to her.) Her father, at the very least, should answer any pressing questions she had.
“You’re here to assist me in my project, Jyn, but you shouldn’t need to worry about that tonight. You’ve had a long journey, and rest seems more important right now. I’ll give you a quick tour of the facility, but you don’t need to worry about the work until after you’ve rested.”
Because sleep will come so easily to me here.
Bright fluorescent lights illuminated each hallway, much like the building Jyn had been kept in on Coruscant. Based on the security checkpoints — some requiring her father’s keycard, which Jyn could steal, but others requiring biometric identification, which would be much harder to fake — this facility had been designed for the Empire’s use, where Jyn’s holding cell on Coruscant’s simple locks and lack of proper jail cells suggested it had been converted post the Clone Wars, or possibly more recently.
Her father acted as a tour guide as they walked, indicating the mess hall and several corridors of barracks for the enlisted men (“You’ll stay closer to the labs, with the rest of the science officers,” he explained and Jyn balked at the thought of being addressed as an officer on a daily basis). Finally, he came to the main lab, pressing his thumb against the keypad outside the door.
“This,” he said as the door slid open with a whoosh. “is where you’ll find me.”
Lights flickered on one row at a time, and Jyn took a moment to examine the lab. The room looked much as Jyn remembered his laboratory on Coruscant. Her memories from that time faded over time, but stepping into such a familiar environment sharpened them. Datapads littered countertops, and holoprojectors, turned off for the end of the day, sat, ready to display her father’s project whenever required. The spectrometer Jyn recognized, but many machines were unfamiliar to her. If her father was telling her the truth and she was to join in on his project, she assumed she’d soon learn to operate them.
“Krennic showed me some of your coding work,” her father said as Jyn wandered inside the lab. He waited by the door, patient yet expectant. Was he curious what her reaction to the facility would be? Looking for her approval? “I was impressed. Saw must have taught you well.”
So, he was going to mention Saw. Part of Jyn wondered if he would simply ignore the past eight years, continue as if they had never left each other. “Saw taught me many things,” she said. “Most importantly, he taught me how to survive.”
“And for that I’m very grateful. You’ll need those skills here, Jyn.”
“I don’t believe the Imperials are going to hand me a blaster.” But what she wouldn’t give for one right now — a blaster, her truncheons, the knives they stripped off when she was captured.
“I’m not talking about physical strength.” Galen walked along the opposite side of the counter Jyn paced, keeping even with her but still enough distance between them. “I’m talking about the will to survive. When you were injured or you were hungry or you were tired, Saw taught you to keep going. This place, Jyn,” he motioned around him, “this place is very, very different than what you’re used to. I don’t need to tell you that. You’ll be well fed and have the best medical care the Empire can offer you, but, Jyn —'' he caught her eye before he continued, ensured she was listening “ — Jyn, this place will make you tired, and part of you will be hungry. Part of you, perhaps, will feel injured in ways that bacta could never heal. That’s when you’ll need what Saw taught you.”
Jyn stared at her father after his unexpected speech. He’s lying , part of her brain yelled at her, he wants you to trust him and would say anything to earn it.
Listen to him , another part urged. Listen to your Papa. He’s always loved you, he’s always cared for you.
Both halves sounded like liars to Jyn. She stayed quiet rather than responding to her father.
He seemed to understand her silence. Sighing, he gestured to the door again. “I’ll show you to your room, Jyn.”
( Her father wouldn’t be delivering her to a cell , reminded herself. He wouldn’t be delivering her to a cell. )
Down another hallway, making a left and then a right turn. No distinguishing marks separated one hallway from another; there were no windows to orient Jyn to the outside world and no markers pointing from one destination to the next. With a jolt of panic, Jyn realized she had lost count of the path she’d taken to get from the hanger to the lab. Was that what her father intended, when he showed her the lab? To disorientate her enough that she would never be able to find her way out of the lab?
It wouldn’t matter , her mind snorted. The only way off this planet is by diving off one of those cliffs.
Her father made one last turn and stopped outside a door, as nondescript as the one next to it. Waving his keycard in front of the pad, the door slid open to reveal a room, similar to the one Jyn slept in with Saw on Wrea. A bed was shoved against one wall, a desk and a small wardrobe shoved against the opposite one. No windows, like the rest of the facility. It glowed white where Jyn’s quarters with Saw were muted by earthy tones, but it was similar enough to calm Jyn’s anxious mind.
He motioned her into the room, but didn’t follow her in. “This is only your space, Jyn. Until you’re assigned a keycard, only mine will open it. I’ll remove that privilege as soon as you have access.”
Gently, Jyn ran her fingers over the pillow case and sat on the mattress. Firm, solid, cleaned recently. Better quality than many beds Jyn had slept in over the years.
“It’s fairly standard.” Her father cleared his throat. “I didn’t know what to put in it for you. But there is one thing for you. Open the top drawer.” He pointed at the desk across from the bed. Curiosity won over Jyn as she did as he said. Inside, a code replicator sat, a newer model than Saw had gifted her.
“You can’t win me over with gifts,” Jyn muttered under her breath.
“I don’t expect to, Jyn, only to give you something I thought you’d enjoy.”
She stayed silent, fingering the code replicator.
“I’ll leave you for the night, then.” He stepped back into the hallway. “The door will be unlocked, Jyn. You’re welcome to leave as you please.”
Jyn snorted. “I’m welcome to wander the halls of an Imperial facility, you mean. This isn’t freedom.”
“I didn’t say it was freedom.”
    “No, you said —”
“Either you are to live here,” Galen snapped, “or you return to the cell from which you just left, Jyn.” He sucked in a ragged breath, pausing to rub at his temples. “I don’t mean to shout, but your options are limited. I’ve done the best I can.”
“You’ve done the best you can?” Jyn sneered. “My mother’s dead, you’re building Force-knows what for the Empire, and the man who raised me was nearly executed in front of me. Forgive me if I don’t trust your track record.”
Galen stayed silent for so long Jyn thought he wouldn’t answer, simply walk out the door and lock it behind him. Instead, he stayed, dropping his hand from the keypad and looking back at Jyn. His eyes were heavy. Dark bags hung under them. Had those been there since Jyn met him on Coruscant? Had they been there since Mama died?
“I haven’t been given the best options.” He turned back to the door, but spoke once more. “I can’t dictate what you believe, Jyn, but know I have always done my best to protect you.”
Beneath the layers of anger and hurt boiling in her chest, Jyn heard the voice again. Its voice was smaller than a bogling, but still persistent, shouting its same message as earlier. He loves you. He wants to keep you safe. Listen to him.
The voice wanted to believe her father.
Galen left without asking if she understood — a small mercy, because Jyn knew that she didn’t, wasn’t sure she could ever understand what her father was doing.
Jyn never learned how her father convinced Krennic to allow her, not only out of the cramped cell she called home for two weeks, but into the lab where he works. A spiteful voice inside her head tells her not to ask. After all, if she never knows what he did; she’ll never have to be thankful for it.
Get a good night's rest, her father had told her, so that she would be bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning to do the Empire’s bidding.
Eadu Flight Station had become her home, Jyn couldn’t deny that. She could, however, prevent it from becoming part of her identity.
Galen Erso’s blood and Imperial connections ran through her veins, but that didn’t stop Saw Gerrera’s teachings from flowing through her heart and her mind.
She would cooperate — she didn’t have many options if she wanted to stay alive. She would not, under any circumstances, help the Empire move forward with its project. (She didn’t even know the details of the project yet, but it wouldn’t matter — It benefited the Empire, and that was enough for Jyn to know she wanted nothing to do with it.)
The matter was set to rest, but Jyn wasn’t. Blame it on Saw’s teaching or her general distrust of humans, but turning off the lights and falling asleep was going to be impossible for Jyn. Even with the locked door no one could access but her father (and she had no reason to believe he would lie, but she had no reason to trust him either), without a weapon in her hand and nowhere to run if threatened, Jyn couldn’t calm her mind well enough to sleep.
Instead, she paced. Relentlessly and endlessly, mapping out the each length of her room, measuring by her footsteps. She took stock of the contents littering the room. (Nothing more exciting than what she had previously noticed: a bed with clean linens, a desk with drawers empty except for the code replicator her father gifted to her, and a wardrobe that held two sets of Imperial uniforms identical to the ones she wore now and some set of looser, relaxed clothes obviously meant for sleeping.) Jyn spotted no holocams in the corners of the room or microphones in her mattress, though without a knife to cut it open, she couldn’t be certain.
With no chrono ticking the hours away and no way to see the sun of the system (though, come to think of it, with the rain Eadu received, would she be able to see the system’s sun, even with a window?), the passage of time seemed almost surreal. Jyn’s eyelids drooped; too much of her sleep recently had been induced by chemicals or a Stormtrooper’s anger rather than her need to fall asleep.
Whatever I do, I do it to protect you.
I have always done my best to protect you.
Her father’s words rang in her head on endless loops. She begged her mind to conjure up any other words, any other voice: the last words her mother spoke to her, Saw’s advice upon the first time she went into battle, Codo’s laugh that she always found so annoying. At this point, Jyn would rather listen to a speech given by the Emperor himself rather than hearing her father’s voice.
Either that, or for her father to return to the room.
I don’t need your protection! Jyn would scream at him if he were here. What has your protection ever gotten me? You sent me to Saw. You let my mother die. If it weren’t for you, Saw would have taken me with him.
The last, bitter truth was the worst realization Jyn had come to during her stay in the Imerpial torture facility on Coruscant. Her connection to her father became the deciding factor in Saw’s abandonment of her. If she wasn’t the daughter of an Imperial officer, if she didn’t have such obvious connections in the wrong places, if it weren’t for her last name, Saw would have turned around, would have reached for her hand and pulled her along out of the chamber and into safety. The Alliance would take them in and they’d learn to play by their diplomatic rules.
But instead, she found herself stuck in an Imperial facility with nothing but white walls and unfriendly forces surrounding her.
Distracted fingers played at the edges of the code replicator. Its presence on the desk mocked her, reminding her of the one she carried aboard Saw’s ship to Tamsye Prime, the one she had used since she first came to Saw’s cadre. She had no purpose for it here, not unless the Imperials wanted to observe her skills and learn how to best those who impersonated their codes.
With a grunt of frustration, Jyn slammed the code replicator against the edge of the desk, again and again, until the screen cracked in two. (Again she slammed it, simply to relieve the frustration of the last few days.) The machine was thicker than a datapad and harder to manipulate, but using the edge of the desk for leverage, she bent the screen in two, until the cracked transparisteel pieces broke free of their bindings. She dug her fingers under the pieces — if only her nails were longer, perhaps they would have better leverage, perhaps her fingers wouldn’t be covered with blood by the end of this — and plied them away.
The process took several minutes of maneuvering, but at least Jyn emerged with a shard of transparisteel gripped in her hand. Blood coated the edges of her fingers and bubbled over onto her palm, but despite that Jyn smiled.
She didn’t need her father’s protection. Jyn would listen to her father exactly once — “You’ll need what Saw taught you” — and keep herself safe.
Her father made no move to comment on her bloody hands or the broken code replicator when he woke her the next morning.
(Woke, perhaps, was the wrong term. Jyn had sat for the entire evening, forcing her eyelids to stay open. Her father made no comment on the dark circles under her eyes, either.)
“The lab,” Galen explained as he walked into the room, despite its stop on his tour not twelve hours previous. “You’ll be joining me here everyday. I don’t suppose you’ll need a wake up call every morning, but… Well, I wanted to help you get acquainted with the routine.”
“I don’t need an escort then?” Jyn raised a challenging eyebrow at him. Galen merely sighed in response.
“You don’t need an escort or a chaperone, Jyn. You’ll have a job to do every day, but once it’s completed, the facility is yours to explore and utilize. If there’s a project you want to explore, perhaps, you’d be free to do so. There are training grounds where you’d be more than welcome as well, if you wanted to keep up your physical strength.”
Jyn almost smiled at that one. The idea of finding an Imperial sparring partner — an off duty ‘trooper she could beat bloody once in a while, perhaps — sounded entirely ideal.
“I just figured…” Galen cleared his throat. “I figured working alongside me would help your transition. And, well, you’ve proven yourself adept at coding. You’ll be very useful to Tino.”
    “Tino?”
Tino turned out to be another member of her father’s team of engineers, all of whom she was introduced to shortly. Tino Vic, a man a decade Jyn’s senior from Naboo, was their programming specialist and more than happy to welcome Jyn into their ranks, explaining their computer system and inquiring what programs she had used before. Jyn didn’t bother biting back the reminder that she had been a member of a renegade rebel group, so she wasn’t exposed to the latest Imperial technology. He merely laughed in response — not at all what Jyn was expecting — and assured her they’d get her up to speed in no time.
Criz Iblik kept mainly to himself, Galen assured her, so she shouldn’t be offended by the way he brushed off her introduction. Nor should she mind the attention she received from Lucian Judd, the son of a wealthy banker on Scipio.
“I don’t think he’s ever been told no in his life,” Galen murmured, leaning closer to Jyn’s ear as if gossiping together. She yanked backward, glaring, but he merely took her negative reaction in stride. “I believe meeting you might be highly beneficial to him.”
That only left Jerred Anholts and Oltach Aske, who both greeted her with a smile. When she didn’t warm to their social pleasantries, Jerred shrugged and returned to his work, but Oltach stared at her a moment longer, a fond smile on his face as he watched her.
“What?” Jyn snapped when his attention lasted a moment too long.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “It’s just… You look so much like Lyra.”
Jyn’s brain short circuited at the sound of her mother’s name. What would this man know of her mother?
“Ah.” The scientist rubbed the back of his neck, and his smile shifted slightly awkwardly. “I’m sorry, I thought your father might have told you. I’ve known your family for years. Galen, Director Krennic and I went to the Republic Future’s Program together, so I knew your mother fairly well on Coruscant.” He pointed towards Jyn scowl. “She would get that same look on her face whenever something displeased her.”
Jyn hurried back to her father’s side. Talk of her mother only made her insides go fuzzy and red tinge her vision, and exposing weakness to these Imperials was the last thing she needed to do.
“You still haven’t told me,” she said once she reached her father. At his quizzical glance, she rephrased. “What exactly the research is.”
“Ah,” her father said and then hesitated for a moment. “Tell me, Jyn, what does Saw know about my research? I’ve had a strong suspicion he’s been following it for years.”
“Whatever he knows, I wouldn’t tell you,” Jyn growled. Another interrogation? Days of torture and the Imperial’s new tactic was to simply have her father ask her? If she were going to break at easily, she wouldn’t have withstood their torture for days.
Galen held up his hands in surrender. “Never mind what Saw knows. What do you remember, from our days on Coruscant?”
“Crystals,” Jyn said, figuring that was basic enough. “You worked with crystals.”
“I did,” Galen nodded. “Speaking of, I believe this belongs to you.”
He patted several pockets of his Imperial uniform. (He was always so forgetful, but Jyn had forgotten until this moment. Mama used to follow behind him to pick up anything he’d left behind before they’d leave their home on Coruscant. “He’s just thinking of too many things at once,” she explained to a young Jyn, so many years ago. “The mundane things slip through his fingers quite easily.”) His face lit up, a small “Oh” on his lips, as he reached into one pocket and emerged with her mother’s kyber pendant.
A sigh of relief escaped Jyn, seeing it in her father’s outstretched palm. When she’d woken up without it on Coruscant, gone with the rest of her clothing, she thought it would be gone forever. Simply another piece of her identity swallowed up by the Empire.
“Your mother gave it to you?” Galen asked, quiet and slower than he’d spoken before. Jyn nodded. “I wondered why she didn’t have it when she died.”
The scowl pulled at her lips again. What did he want from her? A shared moment of pain and grief over her mother’s death? He wouldn’t get it, not here, in the heart of all she despised and ran away from. Jyn barely felt worthy to think of her mother while wearing the uniform she hated so much.
Galen cleared his throat. “If she wanted you to have it, then you should keep it, Jyn. That’s your part of her.”
“I don’t want it,” Jyn said. “Not here.”
It didn’t belong, smothered under an Imperial uniform. Galen, at least, seemed to understand.
“I’ll keep it here.” He opened the top draw of his desk, laying it among a clutter of notes and various instruments. “Any time you want it, Jyn, it’ll be here waiting for you.”
“You’re stalling,” Jyn accused, desperate to change the topic. “You haven’t told me about the research.”
He nodded and flicked several switches on the tabletop in front of him. A diagram flickered to life above the table, green lines curving to shape some massive object, round like a moon with one giant crater in its side. Whatever it was supposed to be, Jyn couldn’t understand.
“I don’t know what this is.”
“That’s because,” Galen explained, “there’s nothing else like this in the entire galaxy.” He stood and walked around the diagram, as if he were examining it for the first time as well. “This will be the Empire’s newest battle station, more powerful than anything the galaxy has ever seen before.”
“Don’t skimp on the details,” Lucian, the over arrogant young scientist, snickered from the side. “Tell her about the weapon, Doc.”
“Weapon?” Jyn shot her father a piercing glare. “What weapon?”
“It’s laser beam.” He pointed towards the dent in its upper hemisphere, steadfastly refusing to meet her eyes. “It’s being powered by kyber crystals. It should be quite powerful. Yet to be tested, of course, but our research suggests it can — and Orson dearly hopes it will — have the power to break apart a planet’s core.”
Cold seeped through her chest as the meaning of her father’s words sunk in.
“You could destroy planets with this weapon.” Her voice fell flat, emotionless as the enormity of what he was describing sunk in. “Entire worlds.”
“Now, now, my dear,” Jerred Anholt shook his head at her. “It’s merely a scare tactic. The Empire has no need to use it. The battle station will be nothing more than a symbol of power throughout the galaxy.” He chuckled to himself. “Though I daresay it might scare those pesky rebels a bit, wouldn’t it?”
“Much more work needs to be done,” Galen hurried to say, as if he sensed the snarky comment about pesky rebels on Jyn’s lips. “It won’t be operational for years to come.”
Jyn longed for a connection to Saw, to the Alliance, even to the useless bastards of Imperial Senate. Someone had to be informed about the atrocity these engineers had created.
Her father met her icy glare for the first time since bringing up the diagram, his eyes lined with  a silent plea, as if he was asking Jyn to understand. She refused to stay in the room with these plans — or with the man who’d created them — any longer. Turning on her heel, Jyn slammed open the door to the hallway.
The last thing she heard was a low whistle coming from Judd. “A bit of a temper on that one, huh?”

Hey bby, can you write a fluff alphabet for Cassie howard? Or Maddy Perez
I love my girl Cassie even tho she makes me livid.
Tumblr media
A ctivities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?
After being flaunted like a piece of meat her whole life, she would just want to stay in and do mundane things with you. She'd want to watch movies, order food, go to the movies; do all the normal things that couples can do and not just party and get wasted and make bad decisions.
B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?
She would admire your patience and peacefulness. Not to say you didn't get crazy sometimes, not to mean you were boring and plain. But she had only been used to manipulation and unkind words, you were the opposite. You were patient with the fact that she had so much to heal from, to figure out within herself and you gave her that room to do that.
C omfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?
She'd be a bit lost. She was usually the one freaking out, no one to properly help her. So she lacked the tools to help you. It would be something you guys would figure out together through the years.
D reams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?
She wanted something quiet. She wanted a white picket fence lifestyle that wasn't just for show. She wanted you guys and your relationship to be put first and be the priority before bringing children into the world. And. She wanted a pool. No arguments.
E qual - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?
She'd be the more passive one but it wasn't a bad thing or a weakness in this relationship. She would learn how to properly stand up for herself, to speak up for what she needs and wants from you. But she would let you take care of her, to give you her trust and to sit down and relax a bit without worrying that you'd lead her astray.
F ight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?
She would hate fighting. Sometimes you'd need to bicker and have arguments, you'd need to learn that your relationship was strong enough to get through a minor argument. But Cassie like to avoid the issues that she was faced with which turned into an argument in its own. You would continue to be patient though, waiting for her to come around and communicate what's wrong.
G ratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?
Very grateful but never really showed it in the right way. She was bashful about it and she's also not really used to people just doing things and taking care of her just because they wanted to. She was always worrying that it would come with a price, that she would owe you or something. But she was still learning.
H onesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?
She would learn that she didn't have to lie, that she didn't have to worry that her secrets would get her in trouble or that you would dump her or something like that. You wouldn't, she knew this, but something in her head just told her that she had to not tell you, that you would angry, that if she told you about her past and her history that you would be repulsed. She would learn to move on from that and sit you down, explaining everything.
I nspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?
You would give her the safety and space to be honest and more trusting that she was in the past, something that she never felt like she could ever do.
J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?
She would be cautious, knowing that you could fall in love with someone else, someone easier with less baggage. It would take her months and months for her to come around and realize she was the lucky one, that you choose her and actively choose her over everyone else around you.
K iss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?
Timid at first but eventually it would become her favorite thing to do with you. She wanted to kiss you all the time, your lips, your skin, everywhere. It was how she showed her appreciation. You told her that you felt appreciated to begin with and that sexual acts and heated kisses weren't needed to validate that love.
L ove Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?
It would be bashful, blushy and nervous. You'd be together for months and she would still wonder if you wanted to be with her to begin with so sometimes it would be hard for her to fathom that you loved her in the same way she loved you.
M arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?
You wouldn't need marriage or a ring to let everyone know that you were together but you knew that she wanted a big day to wear a big dress. You knew that she liked the spotlight and what better thing to shine a light on than her love for you.
N icknames - What do they call their s/o?
She called you baby for sure, you really called her sweetheart, the term making her cheeks blush and a shy smile appearing on her soft lips.
O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?
She'd be confident being with you until she realized that she was in love with you. She'd pull back a bit, self conscious and trying to self preserve her feelings from getting hurt. She wanted to express her feelings openly but she was still so afraid of you being ripped away from her at any second.
P DA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?
She would act however you act. If you were into affection in public wherever you guys were, she would be comfortable. She'd read the room, you could say.
Q uirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.
She's an emotional person and I think that helps because it reminds you of how much she's hurt in the past. The only way she could communicate was through tears and you thought she looked absolutely beautiful when she cried. Typically you just telling her 'you look so pretty' while crying or 'you're cute when you're mad', it would immediately take the edge off of her heated emotions and she would be able to calm down and tell you what's actually wrong.
R omance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?
She wanted to be cheesy and romantic but she was so used to wanting to be on the receiving end. She would ask the people around her, Lexi and Suze, for advice on what to do to woo you or sweep you off of your feet.
S upport - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?
She would do anything you asked her to. She wanted you to be happy but she also needed to get out of the mindset that she needed to be this obedient partner to keep you in her life. She would overthink things every day about if she was doing enough or if she needed to perform more, to follow your every word.
T hrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?
She didn't like surprises. She didn't like when there was this weird vibe in the air that something was being planned that she didn't know about. She was constantly worrying about being humiliated or reacting in a wrong way. So she liked your routine and mundaneness and quietness.
U nderstanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?
She would jump to conclusions and stick by those conclusions until you bring up what she's worrying about. She rarely ever spoke up when something comes up that bothers her and that bothered you. Eventually you would get down into the details and both of you would explain further to avoid more of a miscommunication.
V alue - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?
She would do anything to avoid losing you. Maybe to a fault sometimes. She would kind of freak out and panic before there was something to panic about in the first place which led to some messes for you to clean up. Eventually she would calm down and learn to value you completely, without worrying that something bad was going to happen.
W ild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.
She would be completely and utterly hypersexual when you two first get together. Her need to perform and please you would get in the way of her learning more important things about you and vice versa. She would learn over time that you valued the other things, that she didn't need to put on this act and smile through things. That she finally had the ability to safely say no and move on in a happy, stable relationship.
X OXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?
She really did love to kiss and hold you. She liked to just lay with you, quiet, no words being shared. Just the two of you on the couch or in bed, even in the middle of the day sometimes. You regulated her, calmed her, not needing much other than a simple hug or kiss to feel better sometimes.
Y earning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?
Very needy. She'd be very insecure in the beginning of your relationship and you understood why, you knew Nate and all the fucked up shit he did to the women you know. So you would let her be a bit obsessive and overbearing, giving her time to let you prove to her that she didn't need to be that way.
Z eal - Are they willing to go to great lenghts for the relationship? If so, what kind of?
She would do anything and everything to keep you in her life. Any sacrifice, any compromise, all of it was worth it if it meant that she could hold and love you and call you hers.

-but i think the only reason why he actually glanced at her was bc of the fact she dressed like maddie yk
-with every episode she finds a way to embarrass herself🤕
Tumblr media
-love my bby fez
-HIS EYES ARE BEAUTIFUL😍
-okyyy so this plan?!
-so confused honestly
-like did she only come up with it so she can take the drugs…
-i don’t think so but she took fentanyl
-we didn’t get no lexi and fez in this episode… so sad
-but let me tell you, i love them
-seeing them together is just therapy
-how he gets all nervous around her (:
-like we all know fezco isn’t that type of man
-so to see him act this way towards lex is so adorable
Tumblr media
-when i say my jaw dropped at this scene😱
-i wish she had actually confessed
-but ofc it ain’t gonna be that easy
-look at ms.lexi bby in the back😍
-honestly i love lex
-anyways… unpopular opinion… i thought cassie saying ‘rue rue’ was the cutest
-and maddie “you relapsed?!”
-she cared
-love seeing them all together tho
-i felt a sense of comfort yk
Tumblr media
-this boy has my heart fr❤️
-him and his guns are like🤞🏽
-ash is also one of my favorites
-lwky feel like he’s underestimated bc he’s so young
-like the kid never had the chance to have a childhood😭
-its actually sad
-but the fact that he’d do ANYTHING for fezco warms my heart
-he’s loyal and amazing
-this boys deserves the wrld🌍
-anyways…
-this whole scene was funny af
-had me rolling🤣
-fez’s outfit looked fire on him
-faye was lwky funny asf as well
-and ash was once again a g
-cal is such a stupid idiot man
-he straight up just ratted himself out🤦🏽‍♀️
-plus ash didn’t want to let him go
-wouldn’t surprise me if ash ended up killing him lmao
Tumblr media
-i’ve been waiting for this one…
-i feel like this one’s kind of obvious
-nate only wants to be with her life cuz he wants that disc back
-and i love maddie
-but she’s not all that innocent
-need i remind y’all she let tyler go to JAIL for ra*pe and abu*e
-so when it comes to comparing cassie and maddie, maddie takes the cake
-but cassie is pissing me off
- you claim maddie’s your bsf, you wouldn’t do what you did/keep doing if you actually care about her feelings
-i hope maddie has some major character development
-i believe in her🙏🏽

okay the little post on how you're perfectly fine until someone who shows the slightest interest in you comes in and once it's over, your life is a mess?? yeah, i feel the same way. over quarantine, i was living my best life, passing all my classes, no care in the world besides hyperfixating on hockey players and other white men and watching a movie a day and then when i came back to school irl, i met a boy who i genuinely liked and everyone who has ever seen us talk can verify that there was tension or a connection or whatever but there was obviously something there and I'M the one who ended things because he would constantly invalidate me but the cassie howard urge in me regretted doing that and after 4 months of successfully ignoring him, i went thru a 2 week mental breakdown only for me to be trapped in a cassie and nate-esque situation except we're still not talking and im obviously in a bad state of life rn so yeah, i feel you
it’s the WORST! i’m so sorry bby :((( like some days i’m fine and can go without thinking about him or the situation and other days i feel literally paralyzed by my own thoughts! and like my mood literally depends on if he reaches out or not and it makes me sick

The Kestis family and the Mantis crew eventually decided to join this alliance with the objective of stopping the Empire at all costs. They took up the offer a month after Mari Kosan had personally approached them.
For young Cassidy, it was a big adjustment, having to leave the home she knew back in Zera III and begin to live in a new home. The child had mixed feelings about it, she had sensed the uneasiness of her parents when they prepared for their departure that day.
“I never saw a planet that red before,” she gasped, gawking at Yavin’s main planet that they passed by as they approached the moon’s atmosphere.
When the Mantis had cut through the skies and had full view of the forests that covered the land mass. All of a sudden, little Cassidy didn’t feel a bit homesick anymore.
“It’s… almost like home,” she softly uttered, the treelines reminded her of the wide, green dells of Zera.
Greez prepared the Mantis to land near the open area in front of the sandstone structure. Upon closer look, it would’ve been a temple when it was still in its prime. The entire family was greeted by Mari Kosan, who went out of her way to meet with them as soon as she saw that familiar ship flying into their radar.
The bustle of the temple-turned-base of operations fascinated the young Jedi. Never has she ever seen a different kind of ship besides the Mantis, she had to step back while keeping her head titled up—emphasizing the gargantuan size of the fighter ships.
The new feeling was a two-way road: for the adults working in the base, it was new for them to see a kid running around—understandably so, it was someone’s daughter. As for Cassidy, she wasn’t used to this much people in a single place, she felt small and therefore found more solace with her family.
“This place is so much bigger than our house, Mom!” she exclaimed.
“Well, it is a base after all, darling,”
“Did they build that too?” she points to the pyramid.
“No, it looked like it’s been there way before they even came here,”
Much like her lifestyle in Zera III, Cassidy found herself a spot where she can practice her saber techniques in peace without being in the way of the adults working in the base. It’s no surprise that her spot was another clearing in the forest, little did she know that she was in full view of the scouts in the watchtowers but they didn’t mind her that much, it was also only a few meters away from the base so she can find her way back on her own.
Her parents eventually found her spot, thanks to a watchtower scout, and they continued their training—almost as if nothing happened. Over time, her skills improved and she was able to spar with her parents—something that she has been secretly dreaming even before she had her own saber constructed.
“You’re catching up real quick!” Cal encouraged.
“Well, I’ve been practicing all week, Dad!”
“Don’t get cocky then, Cassy!”
Cassidy’s combat techniques had evolved from sticking to only Form I: Shii-Cho to being a practitioner of Form III: Soresu, occasionally making a medley out of the first four forms if the situation arises. It was a blatant contrast to her father’s combined forms—which were technically powerful, swift, nearly-brutish in terms of movement, and is highly likely to be overwhelming for an unskilled opponent.
You observed that Cassidy was more in the offensive and Cal was being defensive in his stances. He surely didn’t go easy on sparring against his daughter.
“You confuse your confidence with arrogance, keep yourself grounded—literally and figuratively!” Cal lectured as he proceeded to lunge at her, to which she barely dodged by a hair. “Celebrating too early will cloud your judgment. You may think you’re winning—but you’re getting closer to loss.”
From that, Cassidy became more conservative with her attacks, timing for the right window of opportunity to get a jab at Cal, he disarmed her when he made a flurry of combos against her to the point that the grip on her saber had weakened and led her scuttling on the dust. The tip of his lightsaber hovered mere inches away from the front of her face.
“Well, Cassidy?”
This isn’t how Cassidy pictured herself in today’s instruction. While she had her father thinking that she’s submitted to the ground, she mustered her energy in her hands and Force-pushed her father away. It wasn’t a strong push, but enough to stagger him away from her so she can reach for her saber.
Igniting it the second the weapon reunites with her hand, she lunged for an overhead strike to which Cal flimsily deflected while trying to regain her footing.
“Impressive,” he commented as the colors of their blades mixed in the tight space between them. Cassidy pulled away before she could let the weight of her father overcome her in the block. “Most impressive.”
Cal switched his saber off, signaling the end of today’s session. Cassidy made a celebratory spin of her saber before turning it off.
“You’re learning everyday,” you added.
“There are just some parts that I can’t get right,”
“You’ll have plenty of time to work on that, sweetie. Come on, it’s time for lunch, Greez is making your favorite,”
“Alright!!”
Cassidy raced out of the forest, forgetting to wait for her parents and simply dashed towards the Mantis. You and Cal exchange insights on your daughter from today’s session.
“She’s becoming more and more skillful. She really is a born fast learner,”
“To tell you the truth, I didn’t think she’d do a Force-push on me. That was quite creative of her,”
Cal insisted that his daughter had inherited tactfulness and adaptiveness from you.
“Yes well, she got that tinge of recklessness from you,” you rebutted, half-jokingly.
The two of you walked out of the clearing and followed Cassidy to the Mantis. Apparently, she was waiting for you by the entry ramp, when she had caught sight of her parents she disappeared into the ship, probably helping out set the table inside.
“If there’s one thing Cassidy is weak for—it’s fried Nuna legs,” Cal quipped, nothing but a chuckle from you became his reply.
The first few months have been peaceful, yet there was always the looming fear that war will come here and ravage the moon. Your only comfort being you’ll be fighting with good people and in numbers.

0 BBY, IN THE TIMELINE OF “A NEW HOPE”
In the midst of the committee, he was held in high regard, looked upon with great esteem, they turned to him whenever the subject matter felt like his insight was crucial. He was a constant figure among the meeting rooms in the base. They didn’t look down on him due to his second origin of being a scrapper, as a matter of fact, he had the same knowledge as their engineers.
“Master Kestis,” a voice, faceless among the crowd in the meeting room. He had insisted everyone to simply call him by his first name, but out of force of habit, they end up addressing him as Master.
When he knew that it was hopeless for him to correct them, he turned to that voice in the room that addressed him. His glance prompted them to continue.
“Do you think it’s plausible to have a far-range receiver to pick up the Empire’s signal?”
A brief pause allowed him to think. He returned his attention to the holograph where they had gathered.
“Well, the concept is similar to something I’ve designed for our previous home. But to make its range farther—for instance, from the surface to off-planet—we’re gonna have to need a stronger satellite, calibrate it with an open channel frequency, and once we test it, we can figure out how far our dummy ship’s signal can be picked up once it’s out of the moon. The farther, the better—it means that we can pick up the Empire in our radar before they even realize it.”
“It’s an ambitious design, but not impossible,” Gial Ackbar, the Mon Calamari admiral, interjects. “It’s sure to help us buy time when the need to evacuate comes.”
“We’ll see what we can do in the drawing board,” the head engineer added, stroking his grey-white beard as if he’s come up with an idea to add up to Cal’s concept. “I think we can do that on one of the prototype transponders we have to communicate with the pilots from their ships once they’re off the planet.”
“That could work, I’d like to see it some time, if you don’t mind, Head Engineer,”
“My boy, it will be a delight if you stop by!” the old head engineer chuckled, tucking his hands into the pockets of his long, white coat.
The meeting was adjourned after a few more discussions varying between the Empire and the base’s own resources. Everyone else dispersed in the meeting room and Cal was one of the first people to leave the room, trading curt nods at fellow rebels as he passed by the hallways.
Cal wore many hats and served them one by one—sometimes even juggling two at a time. But past the formalities, the conferences, and the ceaseless interaction with the diplomats, he always returns to the one role he has been taking on for eleven years.
“Dad! Watch me train with Mom!” Cassidy comes running up to her dad in the hangar and he catches her in his arms.
“I wouldn’t miss it, sweetie,”
“Then we’ll spar, right?”
“You betcha!”
Father and daughter appear into the forest clearing where you had been waiting for the two of them. Cassidy slipped her hand away from her dad, Cal gently holds you by the cheek and pulls you in for a kiss.
“Darling, you’re back,”
“I missed you,”
“It was only for an hour or two,”
“Yeah well, meetings aren’t really my thing,” the bridge of his nose crumpled, playfully making a grimace as he stretches his arms upward and wraps one of them around your shoulder. “This is a bit more of my thing.”
Bemused, you rolled your eyes and found his hand on your shoulder, “Which one—today’s instruction or me?”
He inched close and grinned, the tips of your noses brushing against one another, “Both.”
His lips pecked yours, but he doesn’t plan to let go of you any moment soon.
Now at eleven years old, Cassidy continued to prove her potential as a Jedi.
The child was lithe and nimble, using them to her advantage whether in combat or traversing the terrain of the obstacle course that her parents had built together. Her strategical skills were put into good use in that training course.
Her liveliness in combat was balanced out in using the Force and meditating, courtesy of you, no less.
“You’re getting better at the fighting,” you initiated, eventually slipping away from Cal’s arm. “But let’s see how you’ll fare without your weapon.”
Using the Force, you spirited away the saber from Cassidy’s small hand. She didn’t have time to react on it and realize that you’re stealing away her saber.
“Oh, don’t think about pulling the same trick as you did with your dad,”
There was stern tone in your voice, just hearing it made Cassidy’s stomach churn. To reassure her that it was going to be a fair fight, you removed your saber from the designated hook on your belt and joined it with Cassidy’s atop a rock’s flat surface.
“There will come a time that you’ll be robbed of your weapon—mostly by your enemies. And when that happens, you’re essentially bare—but don’t let that deter you. The weapon you have next to your saber is yourself. Now then…”
It occurred to her that she had to wield only the Force and engage in hand-to-hand combat against you. You seldom engage in any form of combat with Cassidy—because that was more of Cal’s work—but it was only this one time where she saw you throwing fists and delivering kicks. She’s seen you fight with a lightsaber, but rarely with your bare hands.
Your own daughter was surprised to face her mother—who was barely angry or aggressive, always sweet and doting—not once did Cassidy ever imagine you challenging her. Then again, you were a Jedi, she knew that you would eventually.
She tucked her knees down, placing herself in a stance with her fists in front of her.
“Good form. Now, see if you can attack me,”
Cassidy resumed to being the one who always engages in the offensive first. Springing her heels toward you, she attempted to pull a punch—in the blink of an eye, the whole of your palm stopped the impact on wherever she was planning to hit you.
You pushed her away, deflecting her blow, and she restarted her stance. For every punch she threw, she was denied of landing it; in perfect balance, you bent down level to her waist and your leg literally swept her off of her feet.
“Throwing punches may feel thrilling, but if you’re going to be reckless like that first moment, it’s not going to work,”
“I’ll try again,” she declared, steeling her mental willpower and her demeanor.
Going back to your stance was your reply, you anticipated her attacks. This time, she opted to start with a kick and your forearm shielded you from the tip of her boot. When you swung her foot back to the ground, she hooked her left fist towards your cheek—a bold move, you thought, but it was nothing as you repeated the same deflection as the first time. Cassidy took you by surprise when she flung a kick against your side when you were busy blocking her punch with your arm.
You staggered at the impact, you dented the earth with your boots as you skidded and reset your footing to face her in the other direction. A small smirk curled along your lips—that meant that she’s impressed you with her last-minute tactic—and the fistfight continued.
“Good!” you exerted. “Keep making use of your advantages, Cassidy!”
Cassidy allowed the adrenaline to flow within her, dictate her movements, and be able to analyze the situation faster before you could retaliate. Punches and kicks land between mother and daughter. Flinging and trading fists, making sure that it doesn’t only cut through the wind.
Eventually, your eleven-year-old secured her win on this round when she delivered a kick on your knee and then to your abdomen. When the adrenaline had died down in her system, Cassidy’s clenched teeth loosened and the tension in her shoulders relaxed. She darted towards her mother’s side, assisting you to get back up on your feet.
“Oh… Oh no, Mom! Are you okay?!”
“I’m fine, sweetie,” you grunted, managing a reassuring chuckle and taking her hand, you repeated. “It’s fine.”
“I’m so sorry, I… I don’t know what gotten into me,”
“A little adrenaline couldn’t hurt, Cassy,” you tussled her hair. You exhaled away the aches that her hits have delivered.
The arrival of a Corellian freighter called your attention, catching a glimpse of it on the trees’ canopy. The intrigued youngling darted out of the clearing to find it landing right in front of the base, opposite of where the Mantis idled.
“Wow, that’s a big piece of junk,”
“Now Cassidy, be nice,” Cal lightly scolded.
“Oh come on, Dad, you think so too, right?”
He sighed, bobbing his head left and right, “Okay, it’s not the best piece of work, really.”
“Knew it!” the child chuckled.
From afar, you spot the Princess exiting the ship, flanked by a pair of men, a Wookiee, a gold protocol droid, and a blue-and-white astromech.
“Well, it seems Her Highness has gotten herself stuck with an interesting band of misfits,” you commented within Cal’s earshot.
“Quite an interesting rescue team if you ask me,”
The family approached the group, appearing out of the clearing to greet the princess with the greatest esteem.
“Ah, Your Highness, this is Master and Lady Kestis,” the soldier introduces.
“Your Majesty,” husband and wife greeted and bowed in unison, to which the Princess immediately dismissed.
“Oh come now, there’s no need for formalities,” she beamed a smile with lips as red as roses.
Cassidy was still a tad shy towards newcomers, she hid behind Cal’s hip as she gazed at the mismatched group of misfits; she was mostly interested with the Wookiee and how tall it stood over everyone else, when the brown, hairy creature met eyes with her, she was startled and hid her face against her dad’s arm, but the Wookiee tilted his head slightly, mirroring the child’s gesture as she gradually peeked out of her father’s arm. When she sensed that the tall creature was harmless, she flashed a shy but friendly smile and the Wookiee groaned softly.
The same head engineer from Cal’s meeting beckoned him to join them inside the base.
“Lady Kestis, if you don’t mind, we would like to have your company in the council room as well,”
“Of course,” you turned to Cassidy. “Daddy and I will be back, okay? You go play wherever you like.”
“Okay, Mom,”
You kissed her forehead, “I’ll see you later, okay?”
She nodded and you let her free. You and Cal followed the head engineer and the Princess, boarding a cart separate from theirs on the way into the hangar. The Kestis couple sensed the urgency as they strode into the meeting room, while having the meeting, Cassidy had wandered off into the hangar—secretly following the newcomers and caught the eye of the boy with sandy brown hair.
“Hello there,” the nineteen-year-old spoke in a friendly tone and bent to her level. “What’s your name?”
“Cassidy,”
“What a pretty name. Well, Cassidy, I’m Luke! Nice to meet you,” he gladly extended his hand, offering her a handshake. She hesitated for a few seconds but took his hand with hers and they shook on it.
She didn’t notice it, but Luke’s friendly smile unconsciously dissolved as he felt something within the girl. It was similar to a feeling he had not too long ago. Even with his eyes opened, he suddenly reminisced a moment where he had his vision obscured and the sound of the lightsaber buzzing against projectiles rang fresh in his eardrums. He shook away the thought and managed a smile in front of Cassidy as he let go of her hand.
“Did you rescue her? The princess?”
“Yeah, I guess we did,”
“Are the bad guys coming here? Because I have a bad feeling about it,”
“Oh well, would you look at that—just when I thought you were the youngest here, there’s one who beat you to it,” the other man, obviously taller than Luke, cuts in before he could give the boy a chance to reply.
The Wookiee grunted in reply.
“Don’t scare her off, Chewie,” the man blurted.
In reply, the Wookiee raised its voice on the man with the black vest, flailing its arm to emphasize whatever point it was making. While the three bickered, Cassidy turned her head to the freighter they came in with, she reminded herself of her father’s scolding and bit her tongue.
Moments later, all of the pilots started gravitating towards the room where the engineer had summoned them. Although he wasn’t a pilot yet, Luke decided to join in, but he politely excused himself in front of Cassidy before he went with the herd of orange jumpsuits. Amidst that gathering of pilots, Cassidy’s parents were also in that briefing, listening to the head engineer as he points at the blueprint of the plans they’ve recovered while giving instructions.
“So much for that far-range receiver,” Cal mumbled within your earshot.
“Don’t worry, you’ll get your chance in making it,” you comforted as you listened.
“Using proton torpedoes, a precise shot into this small exhaust port found in this trench—it’s an opening so small, its width roughly measures about two meters—will cause a chain reaction into the oscillator, destroying it from the inside,” the head engineer explained.
Murmurs filled the room, heads turning left and right as doubt begins to fill the meeting room. You and Cal glance at the uneasy pilots, their collective inhibition was so loud that neither of you don’t need to sense it—because everyone else in the entire room did.
“That’s impossible!” a faceless voice, lost in the crowd of orange and white, stood out from the whispering.
“Then man your ships, and may the Force be with you all,” the engineer adjourned.
“Are you fighting with them?” that question had been suffocating you for the duration of the briefing.
“No, I don’t think I have the strength to leave my girls here,”
Relief washed over you as you smiled, Cal secretly slipped his hand to yours and intertwined fingers with you. The two of you watched the pilots disperse out of the room, some were confident, some were nervous—but if there was one thing they had in common: they’re ultimately anxious.
Cassidy eventually found Luke donning a starpilot’s jumpsuit. She watched the blue-and-white astromech droid being hoisted by a magnetic crane into the designated port on the exterior of the X-Wing.
“I hope they’ve calibrated and oiled your S-foils well,” Cassidy blurted. “It’s gonna be hard if it’s not fully locked in their attack position.”
“You sure know your starfighters,” Luke smiled, impressed.
“My dad used to be a scrapper, so he knows his stuff. Plus, he helps with the ships too!” Cassidy said proudly.
Luke replied an awkward but friendly laugh as he climbed the ladder onto the cockpit of his X-Wing.
“Hey Luke!”
“Yeah?”
“May the Force be with you!”
“May the Force be with you too, Cassidy!”
You beckoned Cassidy into the far side of the hangar, where the three of you watched all of the X-Wings wheel out of the hangar and take off to the skies—carrying the hope of the entire Rebel Alliance as a first step to battling the Empire.

SFW/NSFW headcanons for Sonya Blade?
Honestly did not think I’d be getting ANY Moral Kombat requests! But here goes nothing! Hope you enjoy, bby~ NSFW under le cut because I figured out how to do it now. LMFAO
Sonya Blade
Tumblr media
SFW
♡A relationship with Sonya is difficult to say the least. To her, duty comes first and honestly, she neglects you before her job. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t love you. She just has a duty to her country, and doesn’t really have time for a relationship. A true patriot.
♡Not into PDA not being all lovey-dovey, AT ALL. She’ll mush your face away if you try to kiss her. Especially if you both work together? Forget about it. You have to be professional after all.
♡Doesn't like when you call her by her first name. She always wants you to refer to her by her last, and she’s certainly not into nicknames. You address her as Lieutenant  Blade and Lieutenant Blade only. Because you, “Gotta respect the chain of command.”
♡Respect is something Sonya takes seriously. She wants you to respect her, just as she would respect you.
♡Want to spar or train? Sonya is all about it! And this is probably how you guys bond the most. Sonya is very excited about sparing, and even considers it a contest. Sonya likely has the lead in who won the most fights. She’s never going to let you win.
♡”Fight to win or don’t fight at all!” she scolds.
♡Sonya has a very serious demeanor and extremely stubborn. She doesn’t like jokes nor slackers. She thinks that you being on your phone is a distraction, and is partially the reason behind why you are always losing. She also wants to be very personal with you, because such a time when she’s free is rare, without you looking at your phone every five seconds.
♡Sadly, even towards you, she’s harsh. Sonya has no problem calling you out on your bs. Personally, you’re a pain in her ass. But in a good way? You want her to soften up, you are her partner after all, but she just thinks you need thicker skin.
♡Extremely independent, and doesn’t like the idea of marriage. If you did propose, she’d look at you like you were crazy and tell you to get your ass up. Especially if she had this conversation with you before. Maybe if you kept pestering her about it, but she’s never truly settling down.
♡Kids? Ha, please. Perhaps when she retires, whenever that happens. And even then she’ll probably just adopt. (I honestly think Cassie was a mistake.)
♡At the end of the day, even with her tough girl persona, Sonya would go to the ends of the earth for you. When she's “mean” or “hard” on you, it’s just because she wants to push you to your best potential.
NSFW
♡As Sonya’s partner, you’re sex deprived. I’m sorry. You guys will probably go at it maybe once or twice a month? Otherwise, it's just you and your almighty hand.
♡Sonya is absolutely the more dominant one. No way she’s letting anyone control her in any shape or form. But she’s not going to initiate, that's up to you, because if it were up to her, sex wouldn’t happen. And even when you do, the majority of the time she says, “Not right now, [Name].” or “Maybe later.” It doesn’t end up happening.
♡Absolutely love tribbing. The idea of you two clit’s rubbing together is hot and feels heavenly. Sonya is the one on top, grinding her clit onto yours while holstering your leg over her shoulder.
♡Like most women, she loves having her nipples sucked and played with. Your eyes locking onto hers as you swirl your wet muscle around her perked nipple drives her insane. Same goes for when you go down on her. Please don’t finger her while you’re doing it. Like, ever. She’s not a fan.
♡She doesn’t like toys; dildos, vibrators, anal plugs? All no. She’s very vanilla, and not open to trying new things.
♡Her orgasm always hit her hard and strong, since you two never really do it much. Sonya throws her head back as she comes undone, still moving her hips into you with a strong desire. She cries out your name with a cracked voice, your first name at that. That’s the only time you’ll ever hear her say it, so you better savor it.
♡After you two cum, that's pretty much it for intimacy. There’s no pillow talk or cuddling. Sonya gets up and goes showers. She’s secretly embarrassed that you saw that side of her. The side that no one sees.
♡”Where are you going? Come back to bed with me.” you whine and pout.
♡”No can do, buddy. There’s lots of work to get done.”

One thing I love about the late series switch to a Marco/Ax/Tobias team is that each one of them thinks that they're the straight man in the group and they're all so very much not (Tobias probably comes closest but, uh, "look at my butt" for one example.) It's such a fun development that I wish it was made earlier.
That is such a good point.  I hadn’t even considered that perspective before, but you’re exactly right that each one of them thinks that he’s the only sane one keeping the other two from going totally off the rails… and in a way they’re all kind of right.
Like, Tobias and Ax are wildly incompetent at everyday human interaction without Marco’s influence.  Tobias is a precious bby birb and also an utter dork who doesn’t get how social norms work even BEFORE he becomes a feral child who lives in the woods and eats rats, and obviously it only gets worse with time.  Ax ironically will sometimes pick up on nuances about human society that even Tobias misses, but he also misreads human communication badly enough to think that motor oil is food.  The shorm-kids need Marco’s social canniness to pass unnoticed around civilians.
Whereas Ax and Marco get up to the dumbest shit imaginable any time Tobias isn’t around to exert enough influence.  Those two try to run down a group of humans as mice, concoct a “brilliant” plan to escape Visser Three that’s literally just “jump out of a spaceship in midair and hope for the best,” advance human communications technology by a decade or so on accident, and hack the CIA’s private databases to steal top-secret government information BECAUSE THEY’RE BORED.  Tobias, as you said, is the closest thing that team has to an actual voice of reason, in the sense that he actually thinks about the consequences of his actions on occasion.
And don’t get me started on Marco and Tobias without Ax.  If Marco and Ax get too much done, these two get nothing done without Ax.  Instead, they stop in the middle of super-urgent missions to bicker about topics that include (but are not limited to) whether Cassie has ever played hackysack, the viability of Marco’s idea for a Star Trek spinoff, Tobias’s alleged dolphin-riding potential, what to put in their hypothetical memoir, how to dispose properly of a stolen tank, which Teletubby is which, and the definition of the word “diurnal.”  Marco and Rachel can bicker-flirt and fight yeerks at the same time; Marco and Tobias cannot.  They need Ax there to remind them that their debate about Sega systems can wait for a time when they’re not actively being shot at by yeerks.
