Log of my rewatch of Chainsaw Man now that I've read the manga, lesssssgooooo.

Chapter 1

Spoilers ahead!

1. The door was there from the very beginning, THE DOOR WAS ALWAYS THERE.

2. I have this thought that Denji found Pochita right after his last fight with Makima and that's why he was so small and hurt and apparently weak.

3. Still can't get over that his dream was to have some jam with his bread.

4. All during the zombie attack he's protecting and holding Pochita. My heart can't take it.

5. He offered his body and life to Pochita unprovoked because he loves him.

6. When he wakes up he's just really sad Pochita's gone.

7. Denji being in an existencial crisis about him dreaming for more and then going absolutely berserk gives me life.

8. Idk how Makima didn't lose it the second she saw Denji as Chainsaw Man, could it be because of the smell that she didn't fully recognise him?

9. The music they play when she first embraces him as he's fainting, so nice, peaceful and comforting after all the bloodshed Makima's manipulation started right there both for Denji and the audience.

10. Makima, despite literally saying he can either die or be his pet, holds him in a very nurturing even maternal way, making Denji (& us) think that despite seeming a bit harsh she can be caring and loving. She tricked us from the very start!

My favorite thing about this chapter is the definitive proof that Denji has not come to terms with any trauma whatsoever

The panel with Power and Aki(-47) prove it. He’s always dumped it in the back of his head and closed the metaphorical doors on it. He literally counters mental attacks by grinding up his brain to be able to press forward. He is quite literally giving himself a lobotomy to be able to live semi-peacefully.

Anyway Fujimoto owes me therapy fees.

GOOD! I'll now explain a little more about my absence on Tumblr, not that I think it was dramatic, but I did get a few reactions to it (why no analysis of the last chapter? Asks still unanswered).

I wanted to test on Twitter, in fact I was already expecting the conclusions I was going to draw from this experiment, but it all started with a discussion with my twin sister who told me that I had to test to see how my analyses in particular (there's no difference in the way fanarts are received) would be received.

Honestly, my posts went down well and I think it shows that on any platform many people are interested in digging into a manga, but unlike here where people will want to look for opinions on a chapter, posts on Twitter drift towards people who aren't interested (and they have the right).

But the insulting, even misogynistic part, the repeated meme, the often private RT quoted, it's anxiety-provoking.

And even when I wasn't posting, the arguments, the drama, the anxiety-provoking news loops, the nonsense all contributed to my bad mood.

Anyway !!!! I'm going into exam period, so I won't be as productive as usual right away, but I'm going to stay on Tumblr.

Not that I wanted to leave, but I didn't know if I'd be posting on Tumblr AND Twitter

Already time-wise, it's impossible, especially for someone who's trying to limit her addiction to networks.

And one last clarification: all my threads on Twitter were reflections I'd already written here, so you haven't lost any "content".

Addendum: if I haven't made myself clear I'll probably quit Twitter and only stay on Tumblr!!!!

Another addition: CSM doesn't have the audience the work deserves, not because people don't like the work enough (I don't care about that) but because people refuse to believe that Fujimoto thinks his work, coherently and deeply

Kishibe falling for you

He is a simple man. He loves booze and woman. If you are a woman, he will already start flirting with you, trying to get into your pants.

But he probably doesnt really care about you as a person. He feels indifferent about you. It takes him way more than just being a woman for him to really fall for you.

Even though he keeps flirting with random women, especially younger ones, i dont see him being into younger girls. He needs a woman in his life who he can have a serious conversation, few drinks and cigarettes with him before he fucks them brainless.

Thats why he probably doesnt think too much about you when you join his squad for the first time. You were cute, he cant deny it, but that was it.

He will probably tease you about being much younger than him - which probably just emphasizes how good you actually were. Its not easy to join the first division.

"Seems like you are the next baby i have to train." He teases you, smirking into his cup before taking a sip of his drink. You were both sitting at the bar in a shady restaurant, but none of you cared. You just wanted to have a few drinks before heading home, not knowing that Kishibe would also be there. "Might as well just start calling me master then."

"Thanks. But i'll stick to Kishibe." You answer, not even looking at him. "Im not a baby to train." You say before downing your drink and asking the barkeeper for a refill.

After a few days or even weeks he sees you fighting a devil, and he has to admit that you were a bit of all right. The way you effortlessly killed it? Your body being covered in its blood? Yeah, he was looking at you respectfully.

Somehow you two would become drinking buddies, after missions end you two would always go and grab a few drinks together and talk.

The first time he notices how his heart starts beating a bit faster is when you two were out, drinking again and talking about your lifes before joining the first squad. He liked you. He liked the way you talked, he liked your way of thinking, he liked the way you were moving your body. He really enjoyed your presence. He may be a grumpy grizzled old man, but he still has feelings and emotions. But Kishibe would never admit it that easily. No way, he has to tease you. Its his way of flirting.

You noticed his gaze on you during one of many nights you two shared together at a crappy bar. "Why are you looking at me like that?" You ask, looking up at him while waiting for your glass to get refilled by the barkeeper.

He cant help but smile gently, his cup on his lips, taking another sip of his whiskey before he answers with rolling eyes: "You annoy me. Next time Aki babysits."

"Hey??"
