where'd the name Pechikka come from?

it's the little anime girl in my icon!

Chika Tatehara aka Pechika from the light novel series Magical Girl Raising Project. The official translation has her as Pechka but I prefer the original fantranslation because it's a pun on her real name :)

The extra k is just because the url pechika was already taken

No pupa. I went over my reasons for the IPP bug Pokemon in this post, so I’m going to quote my response for Larvesta:

Larvesta: based on a (Atlas) moth, which definitely pupate. I could have gone the pupa route here, but didn’t for two reasons - first, dex entries state that it “spews fire from its horns and encases itself in a cocoon of fire when it evolves.” and I thought just drawing a ball of fire would be boring for you guys, and second, because it takes so long to evolve them, I liked being able to see the change happen over time rather than in an unchanging cocoon.

hello r u still doing opinions because: ☕ (black panther spoilers) everyone seems to love erik which is understandable, and a good chunk of people keep saying he was right and did nothing wrong, but w'kabi always gets the "jerkass who did everything wrong", and given that they were both motivated by the same ideas, i feel what this reveals is that peopl are willing to forgive extremists ideologies only when they think the guy saying them is hot

agree, kind of. i only literally just saw black panther yesterday so i haven’t seen much of the Discourse surrounding it, so i didn’t even know there were strong fandom opinions re: w’kabi. now that you say it though, i’m not really surprised, tbh.

i do feel like part of the reason people are more willing to support erik is the fact that we have a lot more screen time devoted to erik and his backstory? like, we hear briefly that w’kabi’s family was killed by klaue, but there’s almost no time in the film devoted to that. with erik, on the other hand, we have multiple flashbacks about his past. we literally see him upset over his father’s death as a small child. the scene where he’s taking the power of the black panther and then sees his dad in a vision was hands down the most emotionally visceral moment of the movie for me.

but is another part of the reason for erik’s major fandom following because he’s hot? oh yeah, definitely. it’s practically tumblr tradition at this point. look, michael b. jordan is fine as hell, i won’t deny it. so, yeah, there’s definitely truth to that. personally (at least for me) i wouldn’t say that the only reason people like him is because he’s hot, but is his attractiveness a factor in his popularity? i’d say so.

I didn’t think it was a bad episode by any means, I just felt the trope was a little predictable. You’re right, though - they do make a good point to keep things clear, and I do appreciate that Jamie still didn’t get that chance in the end. Considering this is meant to be a children’s show, I can see it doing good things on that end.

ok i have heard about yume nikki for a while, i knew it was a game but i never went into full deep research about it. i just probably heard the title and saw the main character a few times, but yeah it’s been around for a while
