Can I get the boys, separate, with a reader that they've known for a long time getting a glow up? Like they never found her attractive or saw her in a romantic light. But one day she BAM glows up, angsty pleeeaaaseee🙏🏽
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: In which you glow up after being rejected by your crush
Warnings: angst, no happy ending sorry.
Author's Note: these are all relatively small and under the same premise sorry!
You had liked your greaser friend for a while, like for a REALLY long time. So when you’d finally worked up enough courage to ask him on a date you felt heartbroken when he turned you down. Later you heard it was because you weren’t ‘pretty enough’. Well fuck that! You decided it was your perfect time to start a massive glow up!
PONYBOY CURTIS
As soon as you stepped into the classroom after everyone had returned from spring break, Pony’s jaw dropped. And so did a lot of other’s. You looked like a new person, so much so that he almost didn’t recognize you if not for your jewlery. God, you were gorgeous. He smiled at you, but you seemed to look right past him. He tried talking to you in the halls but nothing worked. You seemed so busy with your new life that you had barely any time for him.
“Hey Y/n, wait up!”
“Oh hey.” You said, not even looking him in the eyes.
“What’s up, you don’t even try to talk to me anymore,” he laughs awkwardly and you shoot him a confused look.
“Why would I?”
“Well, I mean..I thought you liked me?” He asked, and you scoffed.
“Yeah well not anymore,” you said before walking away.
JOHNNY CADE
You were hanging out at the lot by yourself when you turned around to find Johnny staring at you. His mouth was open in shock.
“Y/n?” He asked, truly blown away with how good you looked.
“Hey,” you said, trying to be respectful.
“Oh my god, haven’t seen you since..” his voice trails off and you cringe. The last time you talked to him you confessed and he politely declined, only to go off and laugh at you with Dallas later on.
“Yeah, that was my mistake,” you shrug, completely over him if it wasn’t for the embarrassment of it all.
“Mistake?” He asked, you catch the hurt washing over his face.
“Mhm, one big mistake that I’ll never make again.” You smile at him, milking your revenge for everything it was worth.
“Oh,” he said softly before you shrugged and walked away.
SODAPOP CURTIS
Sodapop was kind of like a big deal because of how good-looking he was. So when you walked into class looking like the next Miss Oklahoma rumours started to spread about how the hottest girl and guy would get together. Soda approached you during lunch, a huge smile plastered on his face.
“Hey, Y/n”. You narrowed your eye before speaking.
“Uh, hi.”
“I was wondering, if maybe you wanted to go to the drive-in with me tomorrow?” He asked. You nearly choked on your own spit.
“Hell no!” You laughed and Soda looked shocked.
“What?”
“I said no, now can you move? You’re in my way” You said before shoulder checking him while walking off.
STEVE RANDLE
Steve had seen you walking down the road looking prettier than the morning sun and was absolutely stunned by how much brighter and happier you looked. Your hair was perfect and so was your skin. He wanted to talk to you but he was too scared, so when he went home he immediately dialed up your number on the nearest pay-phone.
“Hello?” Your voice rang out from the phone and Steve smiled.
“Hey Y/n, uh, it’s me Steve, I saw you walking down the road but was too nervous to talk to you…anyways, would you like to maybe go out sometime?” He rambled into the phone, expecting you to jump on his offer like you would’ve when you confessed. Instead you just sighed,
“Pussy” and the phone clicked signalling that you hung up, leaving him standing there in shock.
TWO BIT MATTHEWS
You had always admired Two-Bit’s humor, but now it was too much. He was going around town telling people how he always knew you’d end up pretty and that you were going to practically run back into his arms when he asks you out. You cringed just thinking about ‘running into his arms’. So when you saw Two-Bit walking with his gang you took your chance.
“Two-Bit!” You called from across the street, running over to him. You watched as his guys hyped him up and he nudged them with an ‘I told you so’ look.
“Hey Y/n, how’s it been?”
“Good! Been hearing a lot about you recently.” You feigned a smile.
“Really? Like what?” he smirked.
“Like the fact you're telling people that I'd got ‘running into your arms if you gave me the chance’! Which is why I'm actually talking to you right now, I’d like to clear the air and say I'm totally over you. I know my league and you are definitely below it! Bye!” You giggled before running off, leaving him standing in shock with his gang.
DARRY CURTIS
You had known Darry in high-school. He was popular and you were not, so it made sense that he rejected you. However when you saw him approaching you at the drive in, the pain and embarrassment came crashing back down on you.
“Y/n,” he said to you, as if testing the waters. You nodded in his direction before turning your attention back towards the screen.
“How have you been, you, uh, you look good.” He said awkwardly and you glance at him.
“I'm fine.” You tensed up when he sat next to you.
“Hey, uh, do you….are you free next week?” He asked hopefully and you scoffed.
“Hell no”
“Really Y/n? Is this all because I rejected you?” You glared at him, livid over the fact that he would bring that up. “Look, I was under a lot of pressure.. I'm sorry”
“Doesn't make it hurt any less.” You mumbled before getting out of your seat and leaving the drive in.
DALLAS WINSTON
Dally only likes pretty chick's, and you learned that after he whistled at you as you passed. You of course returned the favor by shouting a harsh ‘fuck off!’ which left him open-mouthed in shock.
“Y/n?” he asked, a grin starting to form on his face.
“What,” you glared at him, eyes narrowing in anger.
“Damn, you look good!” He said, taking a step closer to you and examining you.You got pissed and pushed him back away from you.
“What? I'm just tryna compliment you!” He said, stumbling back.
“Fuck off, Dallas. I mean it.” You snapped at him before stalking away.

Tumblr media
You’d known Dallas Winston for a long time. Not your whole life but it felt like it. He was always a constant in your life. Your relationship was always a weird one with the Winston boy. You could joke all day long in the confines of the house but as soon as you left it he wanted nothing to do with you. Like he was embarrassed of you. Little did you know he was just trying to keep your squeaky-clean reputation intact. For you might’ve hung, lived with and been around greaser’s but you weren’t one really. You were a greaser by association. Dally always said you were far too kind, too pure for this lifestyle so he tried his hardest to keep you as far away as he could.
It wasn’t easy when you gave him those pleading looks outside the Curtis residence to just acknowledge your presence. He tried his best not to cave. Not even when all he wanted to do was laugh about something stupid Ponyboy or Sodapop did. But you couldn’t be seen with him out and about so casually. Then the Soc’s would start to target you. He didn’t know what he was quite capable of at the thought of somebody hurting you. As he got to know you and the Curtis after moving to Tulsa he swore he’d protect you day and night. He wouldn’t let a pretty little hair on your pretty little head get touched.
He'd decided early on when he met you, he was ten and you were eight, that he was going to get you tough. He was going to be hard on you, not too hard though. If you were going to grow up a greaser then you needed to know how to defend yourself. He spent the next eight years teaching you, training you, protecting you. He didn’t realize when it happened but slowly he stopped looking at you like a younger sister. Those protective feelings went far deeper than familial love. No, he actually loved you. He’d fallen in love with the one person he really shouldn’t have fallen for. Darry would skin him alive if he knew. Soda would beat him into oblivion. Pony would tell him how disappointed he was in some sort of poetic way that went over his head. He knew he just had to keep these growing feelings quiet. For your sake. You didn’t need to deal with him or his endless amounts of baggage. Even if he could see how attached you had grown to him too.
To say your relationship had grown confusing and chaotic over the years had been an understatement. Even Darry had picked up on some of the awkward tension that seemed to pop up out of nowhere when the two of you were left alone. Soda caught onto the longing gazes Dally would throw your way. He even caught you a few times doing the same to him. Pony wasn’t blind either. He was your very best friend and confidant. Whenever the conversation of Dallas Winston came up you shied away. Scared of letting something loose on accident. All the brothers knew there was something there they just didn’t know if and what would happen.
After your parents had died he’d been there for all of you but especially you. You’d taken it the hardest. Your mom was your favorite person and she just disappeared one day. You were lost and had to rely on teenage boys to guide you through it all. Your parents had nobody they could fall back on to take care of you. Thank goodness for Dally. He’d quite literally pulled you out of the depression you’d slipped into by just being there. Helping you. Asking for nothing in return. That’s when you fell in love. He’d shown you his true colors under the layers and layers to Dallas Winston. Under it all he was there for you and promised to never leave. And you knew he'd keep that promise, you just knew it.
Slowly the months ticked by and you’d gotten back to normal. Going out with friends and boys. Dallas watching you like a hawk whenever you went on dates with guys he knew were nothing compared to you. But he decided not to say a word and let you live your life. It was worth seeing the smile come back to life after seeing you so sad for too long. Seeing you happy was worth it all.
So, when Ponyboy asked you to accompany him on a Paul Newman special at the movie theatre you couldn’t refuse him. He was so excited about seeing the film you could hardly imagine saying no to him. You’d always enjoyed the movies too so it was hardly a tough sell on his part.
You couldn’t imagine a better way to spend a Saturday. Maybe if Dally was there to accompany you. But you couldn’t admit that. If you did then everything would change. Who knows what Darry would do to Dally. How Soda would treat him. This could get weird, and you hated weird. You’d rather keep it normal even if it meant having to keep him as a friend.
“Which one did you like better?” Pony asked once the two of you had left the theatre. He placed his hands in his pockets giving you a quizzical look. The two of you waked slowly along the cracking road that needed some serious repairs. Your head spun towards the street seeing a car full of Soc’s roll up chipping at Ponyboy about something, ignoring you completely. Even though you were over a year older than him Pony stood much taller than you. He pushed you behind his back as he yelled back at the boys. You tugged at the back of his shirt letting him know it was time to go. It wasn’t smart to get chippy with five of them in the car. They outnumbered the two of you and you were rather useless in a fight.
He grabbed your hand and pulled you across the street. After a moment of walking along the residential road you answered him, “The Hustler was far better Gidget Goes to Rome. Paul Newman really is a mastermind.”
He smirked bobbing his head in agreement, “Thought you’d say that.”
You feigned offense at that statement, “Am I that predictable Ponyboy Curtis?” You raised your eyebrows as you walked along the dirt path. The theatre wasn’t far from home thankfully. Maybe just over a mile. A twenty-minute walk or so.
“No. I just know you I guess dear sister.”
You smiled at your younger brother. Even since your parents had passed you’d taken on the nurturing role for him and even Soda more recently. Darry had none of it though. You’d grown close to your two brothers since their death’s. Darry kept his distance trying to do his best to raise you instead of letting you help him. He was trying to take on the role of your father without even asking if that’s the three of you wanted. But you didn’t dare question him.
You gave his hand a soft squeeze, “That you do Ponyboy. You know me better than anybody else.” You spotted a vehicle fast approaching from behind the two of you as you went in for a hug.
Your eyes widened seeing the same Mustang before barreling towards you, “We gotta run.” You grabbed his arm and started sprinting down the road. Pony was faster, so much faster than you, so he tried to drag you along only ending up tripping you in the process. They caught up in their Mustang an instant. He stood in front of you as you scrambled to your feet.
You gulped as the five boys got out of the car walking towards you, “Get out of here.” Pony tried to sound tough, but you heard the waver in your younger brothers voice.
One of them flipped a blade open. Your eyes shot wide open as you grabbed his shirt trying to tug him away. But they were faster as one of them tugged on your arm pulling you to the ground in front of Pony. You let out a scream trying to draw the greasers attention a few houses down. Hopefully they were hanging out outside like they usually were. Drinking beers or some shit.
“Darry! Soda!” You yelled as Pony as was taken down to the ground with you. He tried to let out a few calls for help but was muffled by something being shoved in his mouth.
“Shut her up.” One of them said, Randy maybe? You’d recognized him as the one with the redhead from school.
And before you knew it that same blade was placed right to your throat, “Pretty little things got a mouth on her huh? Maybe this’ll quite you down.” The overly-cologne scented Soc smirked as he pressed the blade across your throat drawing yet another yell right from you. He cut you. He really cut you.
Before you knew it they were running away. Your brothers and friends had heard you and Ponyboy yelling and came running right to your defense. It was only a little over a minute you were down on the ground, but that minute made you tremble. You’d never been so dominated like that in your life.
You looked down shocked at everything that had just happened. You’d felt the blood trickling down your neck more so than throbbing of the slice the Soc had given to you. Darry pulled you up from the ground, so you were sitting at eye level with his crouched form. After a moment of him holding the handkerchief up to your neck he finally spoke, “They didn’t hurt you too bad, did they?” His voice was low. He was pissed. You knew you were in trouble later on once everything had settled.
You shook your head afraid to look at your older brother, “No, I’m fine.” You whispered afraid of what he might say next.
Ponyboy made his way over to you, crouching down next to Darry, “I’m so sorry, Y/N. I didn’t…”
You stopped him, “It’s fine Pony. I’m okay really. Just a cut.” A small smile wavered over your face trying your best to reassure him.
Darry scoffed hating how you were playing this off so casually. Like his kid sister hadn’t gotten a knife pulled on her. Like you hadn’t gotten cut by that very same knife. It was every nightmare he had coming to light right in his backyard. At least the two of you had gotten that far before being attacked.
“Hey, Y/N.” Soda spoke after running up. His face dropped seeing the blood running down your neck, “Did they pull a blade on you?” He put his hands on your shoulders so he could get a better look.
Your face flushed with embarrassment seeing all of your brothers eyes right on you. Turning away you couldn’t take Soda’s intense gaze, “Yeah.”
He pulled your head back towards him, “Hey kid, they ain’t gonna hurt you no more. Come on.” Grabbing your hand, he hoisted you to your feet with ease. Darry gave you one last quick look before he grabbed Pony by the arm. You gulped knowing Darry was going to have it in for him. You needed to talk to your older brother about being so hard on Pony. It was just an accident after all. It wasn’t your fault the Paul Newman films kept the two of you in deep conversation not seeing the Mustang until it was too late.
Dally only interrupted you and Soda once Darry had pulled Pony ahead. He needed to make sure that his favorite Curtis sibling was okay. A minor wave of panic rang through his body seeing you pushed to the ground next to Pony with those boys had their filthy Soc hands on you. Rage washed over him as he kicked the side of the fancy car when they fled away from the scene.
Dallas’s eyes scanned over you with concern only stopping when he saw the trail of blood rolling down your neck, “What the hell is that? Did they cut you?” He took a step closer, grabbing at your face with a delicate touch. Almost as if he was afraid he’d hurt you further if he grasped on too tightly.
“Jesus, Curtis. What’d I tell you about defending yourself?” He gave your cheek a soft squeeze before dropping his hand. He spotted the already bloodied Handkerchief turned rag in Soda’s hand and held out his own to ask for it from your brother.
You looked down, “It was five on two Dally. What were we supposed to do?” You asked back earnestly wondering what the hell you were actually supposed to do. Run? Pony was faster and you’d only slow him down so that wasn’t an option. You’d already tripped trying to keep up with him. Try and fight? Well, you got a blade pulled on you so that wasn’t great either.
He bit his mouth trying his best not to snap at you. His adrenaline was high, and he was scared at the thought of you actually getting hurt, “I don’t know Y/N. Fight back? You were just lying there!”
You stopped walking abruptly, brushing Soda away knowing he didn’t need to hear the conversation about to go on between you and the hot-headed man beside you, “Can you go make sure Pony’s okay?” You asked him.
Soda gave you a curious look before finally handing Dally the handkerchief, “You sure?”
“Yeah, go ahead.” You gave him a quick push before turning back to Dally, “What is wrong with you?”
He stepped closer so your brothers couldn’t hear ahead of you, “What the hell is wrong with me? I’m just trying to keep you alive Curtis. I should be asking you the same! Why are you out walking alone with Pony this late on a Saturday anyway? You two know better. Those no good for nothing assholes only want to fight.” He grumbled before dabbing at the semi-dried blood on your chin.
You let out a huff of irritation. He was being so caring yet so damn frustrating, “What? I can’t go anywhere without a damn chaperone now? I’m confined to my brothers house? Is that how it’s going to be Dally? Pony isn’t enough now?” Your voice was snappy as you pushed and pushed and pushed him. He was already feeling on edge from the whole thing and your attitude was about to be his breaking point. There was nobody on this planet that could get under his skin like you could, nobody except for you. You’d found a way to weasel your way into his ice-cold heart and sink a burning ember into it. For Dallas Winston would do anything for you. But man, did you frustrate him to no end.
“Jesus, you know that’s not what I mean! Stop putting words into my mouth Curtis.” He put his hands up in the air in frustration, raising his voice just a tad. Darry turned back observing, making sure you were fine. He knew Dally would never hurt you. He could see the way the Winston boy looked at his younger sister. He wasn’t stupid. Dally had always been soft on you. Except he wasn’t. He pushed you harder than he pushed anyone. He wanted you to know how to defend yourself. With your hands, a knife, a pipe whatever. He was going to teach and push because he needed you alive. You were the only thing grounding him to this planet at the moment.
Your eyes narrowed on his, your voice raising as well, “Then what do you mean Dallas? Go ahead. Say exactly what you mean. I can take it.” You’d only used his full name when you felt like being patronizing.
He looked like he was contemplating everything before he turned back to you, “You need to be more careful!” He snapped. He didn’t raise a hand on you but instead yelled right at you stopping you in your tracks. Dally had never yelled at you before. Scolded sure. Disappointed yes. Angry, of course. But yelled? Never.
Your brothers must’ve seen the look in your eyes as they all stepped in. Darry pulled Dally away telling him to cool off. Soda grabbed your arm pulling you back towards the house. And Pony happily chatted away trying to take your mind off it.
“Dally’s just an asshole, you know that!” Pony’s final ditch effort to get you to smile came up miserably short.
You gave him a solemn nod, “Yeah, I know. Never to me though.” The sadness in your voice must’ve been evident because that had him quiet down the remainder of the short walk home. You brushed them all away telling them that you were ‘fine’ and going to take a nap.
They left you alone for a few hours but when you didn’t come out for dinner all three brothers grew worried. Soda knocked on your door lightly, “Hey kid. Supper’s getting cold. Darry made one of your favorites, spaghetti, and meatballs.”
It was sweet how much they cared on you when you were down, but damn was it suffocating sometimes. It was times like these when you wish you could run to your mom and ask her advice on it all. Boys were… boys and they often didn’t have a clue what ran through your head.
“I’m not hungry Soda. Maybe later, I’m working on homework.” You heard him sigh before walking away. You’d thought you would have gotten rid of them but another, much louder knock broke you away from the essay you were committed to finishing.
“Pony said you both skipped lunch to go to the movies. Come on down and get some dinner kiddo.” Darry’s much deeper voice spoke through the door. He tried twisting the knob but stopped when it wouldn’t budge. As much as he wanted to knock your door in he knew better. You weren’t like his brothers. No, you were so entirely different. He couldn’t treat you the same or you’d most likely find yourself a foster home instead.
“I had popcorn. I’m still full from that.” It wasn’t a lie. You weren’t hungry. You were uneasy and nervous. And wanted to finish the damn easy that you’d been staring at for the better part of three hours now.
“Alight kid, I’ll save you a plate.” He grumbled before beginning to walk away.
“Thanks Dar.” You hummed ignoring the lump forming at the back of your throat. You were so lucky to have your brothers who cared for you so deeply. You just wished they’d give you the space you needed.
And you thought they did before, yet another knock came to your bedroom door not thirty minutes later. With a huff you set the pencil down, “Go away Pony. I’m not in the mood.”
A laugh so distinct came from the other side of the door. That was certainly not Ponyboy, “Try again, sweetheart.” Dallas. Dallas freaking Winston. What had your brothers done?
Your palms began to sweat as your heartrate sped up rapidly, “What are you doing here?” It came out colder than you meant but Dally just found it amusing. He knew you couldn’t hurt a fly much less hurt him words. Albeit you might be the only person that could actually hurt him with words if you wanted to. Dally was soft for one person. You.
“I’m here for you.”
You sighed, “Go away. I’m not hungry. I don’t know who went and got you or called you or whatever. I’m not in the mood Dally.”
He put his head on your door knowing your mood was stemming from the argument earlier. He had snapped at you, and he felt bad. Especially after Darry of all people came knocking at his door pleading with him to come back to his place and talk to you.
His voice was low but he knew you could hear it, “You and I both know I’m not going away little Curtis. So, you can open that door and we can talk about it, or I can sit here all night waiting. Those are the options.” You heard his stubborn ass slide down the door. You knew they could most likely pick the lock or break down the door. But Darry wasn’t stupid. He knew it’d cause more harm than any good. You needed your safe space away from all the madness of being a greaser. A place you could lock yourself away from.
“Please,” Your voice cracked as fresh tears flowed down without you even noticing, “Just go away.”
You heard him click his tongue, “No can-do sweetheart. I gave you the options. Your turn to pick.” His voice was smug. Was he relishing in making you squirm? Neither was really an option. Both forced your hand. But then again this was Dallas. He got what he wanted.
You tried to turn back to your essay all you could think about was Dallas freaking Winston sitting on the opposite side of your door. You knew his stubborn ass wouldn’t leave either and that drove you nuts. You’d never be able to finish the essay or go to bed knowing he was sitting there just waiting on you.
With a heavy sigh you got up, walked towards the door, opened it without so much as a second thought and found him sitting right next to your door, “Go away.” You tried in your meanest voice, but it came out as a whisper.
He shook his head as he stood to his feet, “That’s not going to happen sweetheart.” He leaned against your doorframe pushing you back inside your room.
“Why can’t you guys just leave me alone for one night? One stupid night. That’s all I’m asking for!” You’d hardly ever raised your voice, but you were tired. Exhausted. Scared of the Soc’s that pulled a freaking knife out on you. Frightened because when you needed a helping hand all you got was a scolding voice.
“We’re worried about you is all. You got attacked. A knife pulled out on you…” He lowered his voice hoping it’d help settle down the rage he saw in your eyes. It was weird. Different. He was used to such a sweetness about you. He’d never seen you angry. Upset sure. But this was something entirely different.
Your eyes bugged, “You think I don’t know that? That maybe I just need some alone time away from all of this?” You didn’t hate being a greaser, no. That would never be the case. You loved your life with your brothers. You were just so damn tired of always being alert these days. Being a girl put you in a weird position with the greasers. The Soc’s never laid hands on you until today. It was startling. You’d always heard how dangerous the life was but today laid it out in front of you how truly dangerous it could be if you were at the wrong place at the wrong time.
He put his hands up in defense, “You need to calm down, Y/N.” His eyes shifted from one of a confident gaze to one that filled with concern
You wanted to slap him across his pretty little face, “You saying that is definitely not going to calm me down!” You were beyond frustrated now. You didn’t want to talk about it. You wanted him to leave you alone.
His eyes downturned as he saw your frigid stance. You were, for the first time he had recalled in his life, angry. Like angry, angry. Like you looked like you wanted to rip his head off angry, “Hey, I’m sorry. But I need you to relax a little. Sit down for me?” You were struck by his apology. Dallas Winston saying hes sorry? You thought you’d so sooner be struck by lightning than hear those words come out of his mouth. The rage in your body calmed at that.
With an icy glare you sat down on your bed. You weren’t sure why you were listening to him. You were angry with him. He yelled at you when you needed sympathy. He’d scared you when you were already terrified. You thought the world of him, but that world came crashing down oh so quickly. You knew of the Dally he had hidden so well from you. Pony, Soda, and Darry would tell you stories all the time of how menacing he was. How he was so fearless in the face of it all. How could you not love on the man?
“Are you okay, Y/N?” He asked after shutting your bedroom door behind him. He knew your brothers were listening in, but it at least gave the illusion of a private conversation. Not that it mattered. They’d get the damn conversation out of one of the two of you eventually anyway. There was no privacy with the greasers.
“I’m fine.” You snapped at him, clearly not fine.
He shook his head giving you that damn chuckle that meant he knew you were lying, “I’m going with you’re not. You wanna tell me what’s the matter?” He asked once more. Stubborn.
“I want you to go away. That’s what I want.” The word weren’t as harsh this time. More like a soft rumble.
He sighed, “Come on Curtis. It’s just me. I know you and I know you’re not okay or fine or whatever word you wanna use. You can talk to me. It’ll be okay.” He grabbed for your hand that was nervously clutching the edge of your mattress giving it a comforting squeeze when his fingers locked with yours.
You felt the words coming on before you could stop them and soon you were rambling, “I’m overwhelmed Dally! I’m scared. I’m nervous. I don’t know if I’ll feel comfortable walking down the damned street anymore! And none of you will leave me alone to think about it!” You fired back exasperated. The building rage inside your eyes quieted down at the admission. You were terrified of what happened next. Everybody was always on edge these days. Life went from easy to hard in what felt like a night after your parents had left.
He opened his arms up, “Alright, come on. Come here pretty girl.” It didn’t take him much effort to pull you right into his embrace. In another instance you’d probably have fought him, but you were terrified and exhausted and his warm embrace was everything you needed. He pulled you closer before resting his head on yours, “It’s okay to be scared.” He whispered knowing that your nosey as hell brothers were likely sticking their ears to your door.
You closed your eyes letting the scent of his cologne mixed with the long day wash over you. So much more refreshing than the scent that washed over you earlier. Dally was always your comfort. No matter how harsh a day or words that were spat you knew you could count on him. No matter how mean you were to him either, “You yelled at me.” You felt another wave of tears come on. God, you felt so pathetic in his arms crying about being yelled at. Some greaser you were.
“I know.” He sighed giving you another reassuring squeeze, “You scared me. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to yell at you. I just let out my frustration out on you. I shouldn’t have done that. I should’ve been there to protect you.” He sounded a bit angrier not that he was getting it off his chest.
You pulled your head back gaping at his with a confused expression, “Is Dallas Winston apologizing?”
He gave you that soft smirk that you’d come to love, “If you tell someone I did, I’ll deny it.” He brushed the stray tears away with his thumb, “I don’t like it when you cry.”
You laid your head back down on his chest, “Don’t make me cry then.” Quipping back, you knew that wasn’t entirely fair. He wasn’t the sole reason you were in tears. But he was the reason you were crying then.
He leaned down whispering in your ear, “I’m sorry. Don’t cry. Please don’t cry. I can’t promise I’ll be perfect. You know I’m a fuck up. But I’ll try. I’ll always try for you.” There was no chance your brothers could hear him for you hardly could. Or maybe that was the rough pounding in your ears. He wanted it to stay between the two of you. He knew Darry would flip if he tried to make a pass at his sister. So, he’d keep his distance from you, for now. But he couldn’t promise to restrain himself if you made advances on him, he’d fold in an instant if you did.
“I believe you.” You fisted his shirt in your hands, grasping onto him. This certainly wasn’t what friends did. But it felt right to cling onto him. To mold into his touch and his embrace. Dally felt so incredibly meant for you the thought of not being with him hurt you.
He held onto you for just a bit longer before pulling back, “It’ll be okay. We’ll figure it out. You’ve got me. Your brothers. All those friends. You’ll be just fine.”
You gave him a quick nod brushing the fogginess out of your eyes, “Thank you Dally.”
“Always. Now come on, let’s go eat before Darry force feeds you.” He stood, unwrapping himself from you, holding his hand out for you to take.
“Darry would, wouldn’t he?” You smiled taking his hand in yours happily.
He gave you that look, “Let’s not find out.” Before pulling you out the door. To nobody’s surprise were all three Curtis brothers not even subtly eavesdropping in on the conversation right outside your door.
“All of you. Unbelievable.” Your laugh let them know they’d called just the right person to brighten your spirits. Darry knew it was only a matter of time before you realized that he was your person. The thought terrified him. The older you got the closer the two of you grew. But time and time again Dallas had shown Darry just how much he loved you too. His actions and his words showed just how much he actually did care for you.

I climbed on top on Johnny, situating myself. I kiss him, enveloping his soft and plump lips. He placed his hands tightly on my hips. "Fuck!" Johnny whimpered. I let out a giggle at his desperation. "Such a pathetic baby." I ran a teasing hand down his chest, my hand slipping under his shirt. He moaned as he felt my warm on his belly. "Please, take it off!" he squeaked out.
I smiled down at him, ready to give him a order. "Sit up. Now" He immediately sat up and followed my directions. I pulled his shirt over his head, revealing his chest that was already covered in hickeys from yesterday. "Stand up for me!" He lifted himself from the bed slowly. "I love you so much, Johnny. You know that, right?"
He nodded with a whimper. I leaned into his warm body to kiss him deeply. My hands slit down to the button on his jeans, unfastening them quickly. Johnny groaned into the kiss, and brought a hand to my breasts. I pushed Johnny away from the kiss. "Take it off for me" He kicked his pants and underwear quickly, revealing his hard cock.
Johnny's cock was releasing beads of pre-cum by the second and rock hard. His cock was pulsing with need and reddish at the tip. It was begging for release and stimulation. He didn't know what was to come. Johnny the sat down on the bed, watching me as I was about to strip for him.
My hands slowly went down to the bottom of my tank top, lifting it teasingly over my head. My pink lacey bra with a pink bow in the middle to match was on display for him. Only for him. His dick twitched as he waited for me to lose my shorts next. "You're so pretty" he said to me. I smiled at him before pulling down my shorts, stepping out of them after.
I walked over to the bed and straddled Johnny, my clothed pussy rubbing against his naked cock slightly. I scooted back a little, adding more space between us. My lips found there way to his neck, peppering kisses on his neck. I bit down on the sensitive part on his neck then soothing it with my warm tongue. "Fuck. More!" he panted out.
I can already see the hickeys forming on his neck as he begged. I put my hand around his neck, pulling him towards me for a kiss. Our lips pushed together roughly. Johnnys tongue slipped into my mouth deepening the kiss. Fuck. I pulled away from him once again, eliciting a groan from him.
"Baby, please do something. Anything!" Johnny cried out. I nodded at him before grabbing his face, squishing his cheeks till his lips opened involuntarily. My other hand came up under his mouth, "Spit." I told him as I let his face go. Johnny leaned his head forward, his silky hair brushing his face to spit in my hand. My hand trailed down to his desperate cock.
The spit from my hand coated his cock that was already slightly wet from his precum. "Fuck. Feels so good, doll." I started to slowly stroke his dick at a slow, grueling pace. Johnny moaned loudly, his hips bucking up slightly into my hand. I placed a hand on his chest as I continued. "You look so handsome like this, Johnny." I whispered to him. He leaned into me, scanning over my features. "T-thank you"
The pace of my strokes picked up, making johnny cry out. "Please!" He breathed as he felt the change. I kept up my pace as he voice became more and more whiney and breathless. I knew that he would cum soon. I started to use both my hands to stroke his cock. One of my hands eventually came to add pressure to his leaky tip.
"Fuck! Im gonna cum. Please let me cum." I smirked at him, shaking my head. "No. Hold it for me!" He whimpered on what seemed like the verge of tears. "Oh fuck!" Johnny voice was raspy and soft as he begged for a release. I continued my work on his hard cock. "You sound so pretty, Johnny."
I could feel his overstimulated cock throb in my hold as I kept stroking. Sayings of " You like that don't you?" and "Not yet, baby." radiated as his "Feels so good." and "I wanna cum." filled the room. I brought a hand up to his mouth for more spit. He immediately filled my request, groaning as my hand returned to his cock. "Im getting close again! please!" I removed my hands completely from him completely. "You have to wait, baby."
He nodded, overstimulated, "Please give me your hands again!" I gave exactly what he needed. My left hand trailed down to his aching cock as my other went to his balls. I rubbed the velvety skin, increasing to his pleasure. Tears pricked his eyes as he knew he was getting edged for a third time. "Baby can I cum, please?" I shook my head with a smirk.
His whole face was tucked into my neck, tear streaming down. "Can I have kiss? Please!" I brought his head up and pressed a passionate kiss to his lips. Johnny put one of his hands on my hip and one on my throbbing clit. I got really worked up watching him beg. He began to rub slowly as I continued to stroke his overstimulated cock. "Fuck. You're such a good boy!"
My strokes began to get faster as I felt my own high building up. "Feels so good. Can I cum?" I started to kiss his neck before replying "Make me cum then I'll let you" Once Johnny heard my words, his fingers began to work faster. "You make me feel so good, Johnny. Shit!" My high was so close, about to tip over the edge. Johnny gave my puffy clit one last circle before my eye rolled back and I came all over his fingers.
"Oh fuck!" I cried out. I kissed Johnny, my tongue slipping into his mouth once again. I pulled away about to let him have his release. "Cum for me, Johnny." I told him with a nod, lip between my teeth. Johnny let out a loud moan before cumming hard on my hand. I brought my cum covered hand to my mouth, running my tongue over his release. After that, I brought him in for another kiss, making him taste himself slightly.
"Thank you, baby." he said as we began to lay down together. I looked at him in his eyes, lovingly, "I love you, Johnny." He kissed me softly "I love you more."

hii I don’t know if I’m supposed to give ya a prompt like said. But I’ve been feeling angstyyyy sooo if you can no bother my love, could ya do : all of the outsider boys reacting to you (s/o) death?
A/N: Hi anon! the post for the prompts thing is here but i’m taking requests too so dw! I’m feelin the angst rn so this was perfectly timed!
The boys if their S/O d!ed
———————————————————
⚠️ TW for death, implied suicidal thoughts ⚠️
Darry
He would go on living for the most part, not because he doesn’t care about the fact that you’re gone, but he just can’t afford to shut down. if he does, he risks losing Soda and Pony too.
He’d bring flowers to your grave once a week, on Wednesdays (don’t ask why i just decided this). Your favourite flowers. When the first bunch he put down dies, he gets someone he knows, (maybe Ponyboy, i feel like he’d dig arts and crafts) to either press the flowers or dry them so he always has them, even if they bring back painful memories.
To add to the whole getting flowers thing, he’d always take one out of each bunch, just like he did before your death to make sure that he replaces them as soon as they wilt.
He most likely got the call about your passing and had to tell the guys. He tried to stay calm while telling them but he broke down before he could finish.
Ponyboy
This hurts just to think about! He, unlike Darry would shut down completely. He’d be failing class, wouldn’t get out of bed and would hardly eat. If we count it as after Johnny and Dally die, that would be 3 people he cared about that died (other than his parents)
If you two watched the sunset together often i feel like he’d never watch it again. it would be too painful for him.
Whenever he gets into an argument with Darry he runs out of the house and straight to your grave. He’d sit there and vent to you and eventually fall asleep there. the guys probably put a bench by your grave so he’d sleep there.
I think that after he was functional again, he’d get very cold and bitter, kinda like Dally. He’d get into fights all the time and would start acting out. He just doesn’t know how to cope with you gone..
Sodapop
Sodapop would go to your grave everyday after work and just talk to you about his day. he would fill you in on everything going on with the guys, any rumbles or fights with socs, stuff like that.
I honestly think that if Soda was serious about your relationship he would have given you a promise ring. I think that even after you were gone he would keep wearing it and maybe even put yours on a chain and wear that under his t-shirt, right next to his heart.
If it was a violent death? He would completely stop fighting, he would only see it as a constant reminder of what happened to you, he would realise that it really didn’t do any good.
He wouldn’t fully shut down but i think he would stop hanging out with the guys so much and would get very quiet. He wouldn’t be his laughing, wild self anymore. He knows that isn’t what you would’ve wanted but how could he keep on joking when you were gone? how could he ignore it?
Dally
Dally would go on hating and fighting more than he ever did. The world took so much from him and now it took you too? Why should he care about anyone or anything if you weren’t there anymore.
He’d spend a lot of time at your grave. No talking, he’d just sit there and smoke a cigarette. Sometimes he’d silently cry, but he hates crying out in the open.
Dally would blame himself. It doesn’t matter how you passed away, he would look at every detail of the days leading up to your death and see if there was any moment where he could’ve done something to stop it. if it was a violent death, could he have stopped you from getting into that situation in the first place? if it was an accident, could he have stopped it from happening, could he have made it so that it was him instead?
Steve
Steve would be kind of like Dally. He’d hate and fight more than ever. How could the world be so cruel that he’d take you from him?
I feel like it could be his first proper experience with loss, which is different to the others that i’ve written about so far. He really wouldn’t know how to cope. he’d try to go on living, then he would shut down for a while, then he would probably just have to get out of town for a while.
I honestly think he’d do something drastic. Rob a gas station or snap and start a fight with his dad or something. He would get very reckless too. where he would be careful when competing in drag races, now he would speed up if anything.
He is so afraid of forgetting your face. He keeps a picture of you in his jacket pocket to make sure he doesn’t forget but he realises he’s starting to forget the smaller things like how you’d make this particular face when you’re being sarcastic, and how your face would light up when someone mentioned your favourite things.
Two-Bit
Two would start drinking even more, you were lucky to see him sober. He’d stop hanging out with the guys.
He would be angry for a while. Angry that you left him here alone. Of course he knows deep down that it’s not your fault but he can’t help it. Two probably went to your grave one day, drunker than ever. He started giving out that you left him and ended up throwing his bottle of beer at your headstone. That snapped him out of it. He picked everything up and cleaned the headstone best he could.
After the angry phase is gone he would start to write you letters filling you in on everything. He couldn’t bring himself to go to your gave so he just pretended you had moved far away. He puts them in a big box under his bed. He considered burning them, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it
He sometimes forgets you’re not there though. Say if he’s doing something he might yell “Y/N could you pass me the ___” then remember you’re not there and just sits down and cries, even a few years after.
Johnny
Johnny really can’t deal with it. With his parents being so bad and you being his main support, he couldn’t take it anymore.
I honestly think that he would run away, let everyone forget him. Sometimes he would consider the ways to see you again, but luckily someone always snaps him out of it.
He hangs out with the guys more than ever, it keeps him from shutting down completely. they become his main support, but he’s even more quiet, he sits a little outside of the group when in the curtis’ house.
After a few months of grieving he remembers a list you guys wrote about all your hopes and dreams. So he decides that he’s going to complete everything on it. He lives for the two of you.

“You know, Johnny missed you Dolly we all did” Penny smiled walking up to staff cabin having already dropped your stuff off at your personal dorm cabin you were glad to be back for in time for the ending show of the summer
“I missed you guys too, you throwin’ a party?” You questioned a teasing underline in your voice at the faint sound of blasting music getting more clear as you both strolled on the boardwalk
“Always, Johnny’s jaws gonna drop” She stated in a matter of fact tone a wide smile on her face throwing a directed look to your attire a size too big leather jacket, a fitted black top that rested above your belly button, flared jeans that hugged your hips yet let your calveshave roaming room, and a pair of boots to match
“I know what else is gonna drop” You hummed rolling your hips in a mock performance while the blonde made gaging sounds in the back of her throat while you snickered at the sight before opening the familiar doors dancing bodies moving around the floor your eyes peered around until they landed on Johnny dancing or attempting to with a brunette head filled of loose spirals it didn’t bother you sometimes you’d have to have different dance partners when it came to performances hell Penny had been filling in for you the two weeks you were gone and neither of you took it to heart but if either of you were questioned about grinding and rolling your hips a little harder on someone at a party to get the other one jealous you’d be lying
You split from Penny and took a hold of a random blonde he took no protest as you rolled your hips on him and he thrusted up to meet your hips with a matching rhythm and you appreciated him for nonverbally letting you lead you kept the pace building the passion back up in your movements before you hiked your thigh up against his hip that he grabbed onto letting you lean back while he trailed his hands against your exposed hips a knee in between your thighs there was now cheering and whistles building up along the crowd catching Johnnys attention his view was blocked from the warm bodies forming a circle around the attraction he left the girl known as Baby to go up to the ring of fire not expecting to see you dancing with someone else a grin instantly etching on his face as the song came to an end you you partner swung you up from the floor and you pat him on the shoulder in a farewell you turned to partway not expecting to see those familiar blue eyes staring back at you and it caused a uncommon smile to make its way to your skin
You met eacother halfway way smashing your lips together and suddenly the applause was louder than ever as your black painted fingernails rested on the back of his pale neck and his rough hands rested softly on your hips you didn’t break apart until your shared favorite song came on and you smirked at him in response circling his standing form as if he was prey and you could hear low whistles mixing in with the rift of the song Johnny mirrored your hungry expression as you ran up to his form your heeled boots dragging against the the wooden floor jumping into his hold and hips leaning backwards crossing your ankles against the back of his thighs while he took hold of your lower body before propelling you up so your knees were now on his shoulders your crotch directly in front of his face you whistled out to Johnnys cousin Neal who wore a cowboy hat that he tossed to you and you caught it putting it on top of your head one hand holding it down and your other arm imitating a lasso rolling your hips and whipping your hair on the brunette who’s lower half mirrored yours his steps precise yet loose and wild Baby watched you with admiration and well meaning envy she wish she could move like that
or even have enough confidence and courage to do so
💌💌💌💌 (begin; love is strange by mickey and sylvia)
You and Johnny stood in the dance studio he rested a hand on your hip as you rested an arm on his shoulder he purposely messed with you slouching his shoulder his arms loose and floppy and you snickered as he trailed down your body from your chest to your lower abdomen before shimmying away from his hold while he dramatically dropped to floor staring up at your form you swayed your hips to beat before turning to the brunette who mouthed the lyrics to your favorite part of the song
“Sylvia!”
“Yes Mickey?” You mouthed back doing a ‘come here’ motion with you index before trailing behind the folding screen you silhouette peeking through
“How do you call your lover boy?”
“Come here lover boy!”
“And if he doesn’t answer?”
“Oh lover boy?”
“And if he still doesn’t answer” Johnny was up on his knees now shaking his head that moved the strands of his hair you finally trailed from behind the changing screen locking eyes with the the brunette
“I simply say, baby” You took less than three steps before lowering to the floor crawling towards the man while he did the same in imitating the occasional guitar rifts until you finally met he lowered his head into your stomach dragging it up into your chest bringing the both of you up to stand
“Johnny?” You heard a soft yet carrying voice calm out in the dance studio footsteps carrying up the short staircase and your eyebrows furrow as he quickly parted from you Inching towards the record player and you look to see Baby staring back at you her brown eyes darting between you and Johnny
“I-I’m not interrupting anything am I?” She questions and you shake your head grabbing your jacket from a stray chair your steps that were once loose and non caring now stern and forward as you approach the first step the brunette calls out to you in return
“Dolly! I’ll see you soon alright?” He continues when you looks back to him after a moment and you don’t return his gratitude before trailing down the stairs the sound of the door slamming behind you bouncing off the walls you weren’t twenty steps away from the building before Johnny was sprinting towards your frame holding your arms since you wouldn’t have stopped walking otherwise
“What’s going on Doll? Whats the matter you just stormed ou-”
“Seemed like you had a secret to keep so you know, I just helped you out” You shrugged your tone more sarcastic than it usually was something he had noted over the years you did when your feelings were hurts
“Come on Baby you know it’s not like that” Your eyebrows furrow and you laugh interrupting him as he looked at you with furrowed brows as you shake your head in disbelief a fabricated smile on your face
“What the hell did you just call me?” You pry his hands from your arms taking a large step back a space forming in between the both of you that he was begging to fill you ignored his desperate attempts of explanation
“Johnny in the last fifteen years we’ve known each other and the last three we’ve been together you’ve never, called me Baby so save me that shit” You hissed before storming off to the personal dorm cabins
💌💌💌💌 (begin; I wish it would rain by; the temptations
“Go away!” You yelled out there had been knocking on your door all day at different time periods you knew it was Johnny and you didn’t want to talk to him and you hated that you were crying over it god why were you crying over that, that fucking prick
“Come on Dolly it’s me” You hear Pennys voice slip from the small crack underneath the door and for the first time since you’d made it to your room you peel yourself from your bed dragging your feet as you swing the door open the short haired blonde looking over you with a small frown on her face at your appearance
“Oh Doll” She whispered bringing you into her arms inching you towards your bed until you fully yourself dip and she takes your hands in hers with a small sigh
“Now listen to me Dolly, Johnny loves you like nothin’ else, you’ve been one of the only… stable thing in his life and he needs you. He only wants you, not Baby, or any tourist, only you. He was an asshole for what he pulled but I promise you as your friend that he doesn’t want anyone else but you so please don’t let this end you, so go get him, go on!” You nod tearfully lifting from your position jogging out of your cabin and towards his the numbers of his doors glaring at you
You took a breath before knocking on the wooden door and before you could back out it swung open and you were met with the sight of Johnny teary eyed his nose red and eyes puffy, his lashes wet he brings you into his embrace pulling you into his cabin
“Please Dolly I’m sorry, I-I’m sorry Doll, please don’t leave, please don’t leave me” He sobbed into your you stomach having dropped to his knees arms wrapped firmly around your waist and you pet his hair shushing him gently tears in your own eyes, running down your face, dripping from your chin, and onto his forehead
“You have to promise me, promise me it’s only me… that you’re not into her” You whispered and blue eyes looked up at you eyebrows furrowed
“I swear on my life I don’t see anyone but you Doll, you’re my life the only person who hasn’t left god Dolly I breathe you” He sniffled and you get down onto his level as you hold each other, rocking each other,
being there for each other.

"You're late, Soda!" Darry hollared, buttoning up his work shirt. In response, a loud crash and "oh fuck!" was heard by the curtis kids and y/n. y/n chuckled lightly, standing uo to help button the five remaining buttons.
"One day he'll be fired if he shows up late again, y/n," Darry sighed.
y/n nodded. "It's only the third time this month, though. I'd say Soda's doin' fine. He has that half day today, remember? He'll be on time."
Darry cracked a grin. "It don't hurt to get 'im out of the house faster."
"Darrel Curtis! Ponyboy is in the house!"
The eldest Curtis child only laughed and pulled y/n in for a kiss.
"I gotta go, otherwise I'll be late," Darry murmured. "Bye, be safe."
"I'd worry 'bout those brothers of yours, Darry," y/n said, following Darry to the door. They both heard Ponyboy scoff.
After grabbing his coat, Darry turned around with a smile. "I do," he replied. Darry kissed y/n one more time before saying a goodbye to Pony and leaving.
As y/n heads to the kitchen to start making some extra cake, Soda flits from room to room, making sure he has everything. "Bye!" He yells, walking out the door.
That left Pony on the couch reading a book, and y/n pulling numerous items from cabinets in the kitchen.
As the time passed, y/n started thinking. They thought about all the times y/n and Darry made the chocolate cake the Curtis family was known for. Darry would make it the best, though y/n ran a close second so he normally made it while y/n admired Darry.
y/n maneuvered the pan of cake batter into the oven and closed the oven. With a sigh, they started to clean up. y/n crossed one side of tge tiny kitchen to another multiple times, carrying spoons and bowls.
A glass measuring bowl that was used to measure oil and water was last. Absentmindedly, y/n grabbed the body of the measuring cup and turned to head to the sink.
Then the glass slipped. y/n watched eyes widening as the glass made contact with the floor and shattered. "Oh shit," y/n whispered, watching large shards of glass slide around on the floor.
Their eyes welled with tears. Suddenly, they were back at their parent's house, getting blood on the floor because of their hastiness to clean up broken glass.
"He's gonna kill me," y/n whimpered, dropping to their hands and knees, completely numb to the pain of the glass nicking their hands. y/n's jeans got little tears in them. "Crap, he's gonna kill me."
y/n couldn't help but think about their dad. Time and time again y/n would drop a glass or a mug or even a plate; and time and time again y/n would get a beating from it always followed with a "I paid for this and you wanna go breakin' my stuff! Don't apologize, you bring this onto yourself every time you're careless with my dishes!"
"y/n?"
"I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry! I'll clean it up, I promise I didn't mean to," y/n rambled as they used their hands to gather up the glass and dump it into the garbage can. Tears rolled down their face and their chest shook on every step.
"y/n stop, you're getting blood everywhere," Ponyboy stated. Glass crunched under his comverse as he crouched down beside y/n tolet them know that it was Pony beside them and no one else.
"Pony?" y/n askee, voice cracking.
"Yeah, it's me. Let's go." Pony ushered a sobbing y/n into the living room when y/n sat down on Darry's (and y/n's) chair Pony hightailed it to the bathroom to gather peroxide, bandaids, and then grabbed a couple towels.
"Let me see you're hands," Pony mumbled, dropping everything to the floor beside the chair. Pony carefully grabbed y/n's hands and felt his eyebrows raise considerably. This was not going to feel good in the next dew weeks, Pony thought. He uncapped the peroxide and dumped some onto the towel. From there, Ponyboy dapped lightly at the open wojnds on y/n's hands and wrists. Their crying had almost stopped by now, only occasionally withholding a shudder at the sting of the disinfectant.
"Do you want me to do your knees or... do you want to do it?" Pony's cautious voice almost made y/n tear up again.
They smiled, teary-eyed. y/n had to be strong for Pony. "No thanks, thing three. I think- I think I can get it," they said. Pony blinked. "Will you help me wrap my hands though?"
Pony eased the white guaze from y/n's shaky hands and started wrapping. He ignored the quivering of y/n's hands and their shaky breath, for he knew y/n was born to... crueller folk. For y/n's sake Pont didn't say anything. He hadn't said anything when he saw y/n flinch (very) violently at the way Sodapop flew over to Darry to bear hug him. Pony hadn't said anything whenever y/n fleetingly avoided eye contact whenever the subject of 'mistreatment' (as the teachers at Pony's school call it) at home. And now Pony wasn't gonna say anything to y/n about what just happened because Pont really liked y/n; they were good for the whole family, but especially for Darry.
"Thanks, kid," y/n murmured when Pony was done. "Read to me while I patch myself up?"
Mustering a convincing happy smile, Pony snatched up his copy of Boston Jane as y/n tentively started dabbing at the smaller cuts on their knees.
It took a long time, really. y/n couldn't move their hand too well so that slowed down the process a lot. But eventually- after two chapters- y/n got themself cleaned up and put everything away.
y/n felt really small in Darry's chair- it wasn't right without him. "C'mere," y/n said. They patted the small space beside them and waited for Pony to comtinue reading before letting their head rest on Pony's ungreased hair.
. ° . • ✭ • . ° .
That's how Darry found the pair hours later. He chuckled softly as he closed the screen door. Darry knew y/n had anxiety- specifically separation anxiety, so Darry was glad Pony was there for y/n. He toed off his shoes and went to kitchen to grab a drink.
"Oh christ," Darry cursed suddenly. He luckily saw the shattered glass amd dried blood before he stepped on it.
Darry grabbed a dustpan and broom and easily sweeped the glass up before disposing of it. After that, Darry grabbed a plastic water bottle and headed out to the living room.
Setting down his water, Darry couldn't help but smile at the way Pony's book was nestled on his chest. Darry carefully slid Pony from y/n's protective hold and picked him up.
Darry set his youngest brother on his bed and untied his shoes. After softly brushing away a stray hair from Pony's forhead, Darry set Pony's shoes in his closet and then left.
"Hey sweetheart," Darry murmured softly after crouching in front of y/n. "How'd you sleep?"
y/n blinked, shrugging away Darry's hand to stretch out and get their bearings. "Fine, fine. What time's it?" y/n slurred, voice gravelly with sleep.
"Bout..." Darry started, looking around for a clock, "one in the afternoon."
y/n nodded. "Will you... hold me? It was a rough day..."
Smiling, Darry sat down in his chair. He felt his chest swell with warmth when y/n wrapped themself around Darry, burrying their face in his neck. "I broke a glass today," y/n began. "I didn't mean to, Darry, I promise. I'm sorry I broke a glass and then got blood all over the floor."
"It's okay, sweetheart, I'm not mad. Are you okay? You get yourself cleaned up?" Darry's fingers traced patterns on y/n's back as Darry soothed his beloved.
"Yeah. Pony helped me." y/n closed their eyes. "I know you don't hear them say it, but you're raising those boys right and well. I think you're the reason Pony cares as much as he does and i think you're the reason Soda always tries to see the best in things. We love you, Dare."
As y/n drifted off back into sleep, Darry felt himself tear up. He knew he was harsh on his little brothers, he knew it good and well. But Darry also felt like every waking day he failed his little brothers. Every day Darry was down the boys' necks, making sure they were where they needed to be, on time and ready for the day. Every day Darry tried his hardest to support the family- and the gang- even when that meant raised voices and misunderstandings.
Darry sure as the sun in the sky that he wasn't perfect, but for his family, he'd sure try to be.

The Faults of a Broken Man
Tumblr media
Before we get started I want everyone to know before they click  to the page that this is going to heavy. It's not going to be your usual sad story that mentions depression. There will be topics of drugs, violence, possible sex but I don't know yet but I just want to mention some possibilities about what you may read.
If you are sensitive around these topics especially anything depressing, relating to death or loss, drugs, and touches of self harm please exit this story. I'm aware this story may be listed as "M" for mature, however I'm going to be publishing this story on other sites so more people can read it if they wish. This is just a little project for me and writing from a person who has been through some things that may be mentioned.
I don't think it's going to be a love story for those that like the romantic type of Dallas x reader stories, it's mainly about him however most of it may be placed in your POV. This will probably be more of a friendship thing, but anyways.
I hope you guys enjoy and if you wanna read it elsewhere let me know, I'll send you a link :) Words:3k+
You couldn’t quite grasp the way the man before you had changed. Though, it wasn’t just him- everyone had changed. Even the atmosphere of the house that the gang had adored had changed.
It was unnerving. There was no noise. No hollering, feet stomping, beer-bottle clinking, or the sound of furniture being toppled over when the guys got too rowdy and couldn’t contain their energy.
It had the same type of feeling like- you know how you’re the first person to be awake in the house in the early morning? You knew there were others in the house, but you were just focused on yourself and what you needed to get done and how you felt.
The way the morning made the house slightly chilly and the sound of birds could be heard faintly. It was like that, but heavy. Heartbreaking. And no one was asleep, everyone was awake. And it wasn’t early in the morning.
The main positive thing that had happened was everyone was around each other more often and no one thought that was possible. How can you be more involved with each other when you were already spending every day together?
Maybe it was the fact that no one else is town could understand. Maybe the sheer horror that there was a chance another member could be gone.
The everyday routine was still there, but something as simple as brushing your teeth became an inconvenient chore. Everything did. You felt as though it may have been harder for Darry, seeing as he’s the caretaker of the group. The one who cooks for everyone, makes sure everyone is well taken care of, but how do you do that when no one wants to eat and doesn’t care if they shower or wear the same clothes for days?
To the outside world- it may have been pathetic and disgusting to think of someone not being keen on their hygiene and not caring how they smelled, but they just didn’t get it. But you and your group of family did.
But Dallas, the one who was laying on the sofa it was a hard thing to place about him but the way he looks and the vibe about him seems different than the rest. It wasn’t a secret to the gang that he had gone through some of the toughest shit in life but never wanted to speak about it, but everyone knew. He had faults and some already broken pieces.
And in an odd way; you felt lucky. Not about a man being down but the fact you had people to share the pain with, maybe theirs were deeper than yours but in the end, you were all grieving. It didn't matter if someone knew Johnny by more minutes, hours, days, months,.etc.
You were all very gratefully to know Johnny Cade.
You just wished he had gotten to know a bit more about life outside of the neighborhood and as silly as it seems, maybe some love and not just from the gang.
All his life he had only known hate- by his parents and the Socs. It wasn't fair.
You take a moment to look around the room. Everyone was still. It was so out of character. It looks as though time froze and you were the one granted to move and look at your friends before you. But they weren't frozen, they just weren't there. Everyone was in their heads and maybe now- everyone could understand what it was like to be Pony.
Behind the scenes everyone was dealing with their grief in different ways. Steve turned to stealing hubcaps and selling them, missing work, and avoiding home all together with a drink constantly in his hand. Sodapop spent most of his time crying in the bathroom or staring at a blank wall looking like any second he could break.
Two-bit barely spent any time watching Mickey Mouse anymore. The show could be on but his eyes thought the old carpet below his feet deserved his attention more. No one would believe it in a million years but, Darry he just let everyone do what they wanted. He still cared, but this time he wasn't going to fight Pony if he decided to stay out longer or if his grades were slipping or he didn't eat. He didn't get angry when someone would slam the door. Shit, sometimes he would forget to make dinner but like mentioned before, no one really wanted to eat. He even missed some shifts at work, spending some time on his dads recliner with a drink in hand.
Dallas well, he was very quiet. But at any moment was waiting to blow. No one knew what he was thinking as his eyes always held that kind of look like he was thinking but wore a poker face. He just needed to look mean and he would be left alone. He was the one to eat the least, smoke and drink the most.
And then, there is you. Your role is very difficult. You basically pick up the slack around the Curtis's house and didn't mind. It took your mind off Johnny's death even if for a few minutes. You would cry when you felt like it, but if Darry wasn't going to make a meal or Pony or Soda were not gonna clean, you felt obligated too. You felt as though if no one pitched in the house it may look like Two's.
At the moment Soda's head feels heavy thinking about a letter that was waiting to be opened in his nightstand. It's a letter from the army. He was scared to death. he had seen enough death and it was messing with his head already and he didn't feel like he could be one of those that can take a life. Especially someone that may be a sibling or loved dearly by their folks. He didn't wanna take that away.
No one knew about the letter, not yet and he didn't know when the right time would be and he didn't wanna leave his best friend behind. He didn't know what he would do without Steve.
"I need a smoke." Dallas spoke after what seemed like hours of silence, pushing himself up from the couch and walks outside letting the door slam behind him. It was surprising that Darry hadn't bothered to unscrew the screen door and stash it somewhere else yet because the sound of it smacking as it returned was really annoying.
You get up from the chair and bend over slightly, your palm resting against the back of the couch as you slightly open the blinds to check on Dallas. His back was slightly turned but you knew that he was looking at the lawn in front of him his hirsute eyebrows furrowed together, the wrinkles on his forehead bulging in folds as he would think. Smoke went up from in front of him as he leans against the wall.
"He'll be fine- It's Dallas for Christ sake." Two-bit says as he watches you watch Dallas. And maybe he was right, but it was still abnormal for Dallas to be quiet and not suggest the boys to tag along with him for some semi criminal activity.
You push yourself off the couch and walks towards the kitchen, "He's not acting right." You say, swinging the fridge open and look inside. It was mostly liquids. Someone was gonna have to go shopping again and guess who it would be? You.
Breathing out through your nose you hear Sodapop say, "None of us are acting right."
He was speaking the truth but you felt like no one was getting or seeing Dallas like you did. Maybe Pony notices it or maybe his head is still keeping him busy with remembering the good times with his friend. The only person who seemed to get him and didn't judge.
"I need a Pepsi." Pony pushes himself off the floor as he makes his way over to you. "I don't think there's any left." You told him since you had just looked in the fridge, making him groan and kick the corner of the fridge, "Dammit!"
You sling your arm around his shoulders and guide him away from the fridge, "C'mon, let's go get you one. It'd be good to get out of the house for a bit." You knew it was going to be hard to get him away from the comfort the house provided; being shielded from prying eyes and the fact that no one wanted to accept that the   rest of the world was going on with another day.
Opening the door it makes a noise that makes Dally look over at you two. You give him a nod, "You wanna come with us to the DX?"
He shrugs, flinging the rest of the cigarette in front of him and licks his chapped lips. "Yeah, I need to get some things anyways." He takes the lead and opens the gate. You let Pony go then yourself, closing and locking the gate behind you.
"I might not have enough money on me to get one." Pony pats around in his pockets, digging just a few pennies and you offer a smile, "Don't worry about it- my treat."
He smiles back and oh how much it took him to just do that. His face had remained vacant for days on end so it felt strange for his lips to curl a bit.
The rest of the walk to the DX was quiet except for the sound of Dallas's boots dragging across the gravel roads and Pony kicking random rocks- every once in a while someone would clear their throat. Cars would go by and you could hear their engine and people talking off in the distance.
It was a good thing that the walk to the gas station wasn't that long. Maybe about five minutes and you were grateful. The silence was killing you and you weren't use to being the one to do the most talking. Usually Dallas couldn't keep his mouth shut and would rant about girls, crime, Buck's, shit back at home, or whatever else there was to mention plus, a little bit of teasing towards you and Pony....there would be some for Johnny too..but.
Pony walks past you two and you guessed he was just in a rush to get his favorite drink and head out. You take a second to glance at the back of Dally's head and you wondered what kind of things he needed. And you thought about how weird that felt, you normally just minded your own business because like who cares what someone gets from a corner store? But with his behavior lately you couldn't help it.
It was probably just gonna be a pack of smokes and maybe he'd steal some individual alcoholic drinks, but you just never knew.
He swings the door open and you both stroll in. The familiar smell of the DX welcomed you. You glance down to see a mop and bucket. It looked like someone had spilled something and you reach your leg to the other side where the puddle ends so you could get to the coolers and get yourself a drink. The place smelled musty and a faint smell came from the cooler in the back as you opened the door, selecting your favorite drink.
You look over your shoulder and sure enough, Dallas was by the alcohol taking his time eyeing what was there, probably looking for one with the highest alcohol content that didn't taste like shit. And you wondered how you had enough money all the time for all the times he drank, maybe he was gambling and hustling others at pool again. Who knows, it was Dallas.
"3 okay?" Pony's voice broke your gaze on you other friend and you look over to him as he carried three cans of Pepsi in his arms and you nod with a smile. "Yeah, sure. Anything else you want? Snacks? Candy?" You offered and a part of you felt like if you let him get whatever he wanted maybe just maybe he would feel better and that would make you feel better, but realistically speaking food wasn't going to get someone through the stages of grief. Food was just there for a moment not a lifetime.
He shakes his head, "No, this is just fine." You weren't going to push and Dallas shows up to your side, "Put your stuff up there you two, I'll pay." He nods his head towards the counter and you both just let him pay, it wasn't worth arguing over who would pay even though you hated for people to pay for you. But maybe letting Dallas pay for things would help him feel better just like the thought of you getting Pony extra snacks did.
"6.87." The clerk says and he eyes Pony, flapping a bag open before placing the items inside. Dallas opens his wallet, digging around for the money before throwing the bills on the counter. You could see Pony was feeling uncomfortable as the clerk kept eyeing him. You look between him and Pony before speaking, "Got a problem?"
His eyes move from the boy to you but back to him, "Your brother needs to make it to work at some point or he'll be fired. I'm surprised I haven't done so already." He gathers the money, putting it in the till and licks his fingers like old people do before grabbing the change.
You scoff and furrow your eyebrows and you could see from the corner of your eye that Dally's knuckles were turning white as he gripped the side of the counter and Pony stiffen on the opposite side of you. "Our friend died. He can find another job, asshole." You grab the bag and let yourself be the first to exit, holding the door open for the two to come out.
"Where's his car?" Dallas spoke roughly and his eyes darted around the parking lot, trying to locate a lonesome car that most likely belonged to the guy and you had no doubt in your mind he probably wanted to either slash his tires, break his windshield and key the sides. You had to take control even though the sight of him fucking up the car would be entertaining, but you couldn't let him get dragged to jail again. No, you had lost enough people.
"Let's just go home, Dal." Pony spoke, brushing past him and Dal took a minute, looking down at the pavement licking his lips then sneers at the man in the building before turning on his heel to follow Pony. You were thankful and was the last to leave.
It was oddly comforting that no one besides the brothers lived there at the house and everyone had had their own, but the Curtis's house felt like a real home and it was funny how everyone knew what 'going home' meant. It was always that house.
Dallas wasted no time in digging into the bag that was in your hand and takes out a bottle, twisting the cap off with his shirt before taking a swig. It was broad daylight and he was underage, but Dallas didn't care. He wanted to drown his depression and grief he felt for the one person he loved. And maybe that was wrong he loved everyone in the gang though he wouldn't say so, but Johnny was Johnny. Dallas was ready to kill himself over the kid. No one knew if he would do the same if it was anyone else in the gang.
You watch as he chugs down the rest of the bottle before chucking it to the side on a fence the bottle breaking against impact and he wipes his lips free from the beer that dripped.
"You might wanna slow down there, Tex." You lightly joke and your lips curl upwards, but he shrugs and digs into the bag once more repeating the actions of earlier. "I'm good."
You sigh, letting him be and look ahead to the back of Pony's head. He hadn't opened a can yet, probably waiting to just sit down and drink it instead. And you noticed how his drinks weren't in the bag like the clerk didn't bother putting them in, man that whole situation pissed you off to no end but with how often you went there you didn't want to get banned because you cracked the guys head open.
No, just following Pony to the house was better.
The gate swings open and slams behind him before you and Dal catch up and walk on the lawn to the front of the house. When the door opened you look around. No one had moved. It was like they were super glued to their places. You run a hand through your hair - a habit you have been doing an awful lot lately.
You look over at the clock that was hung up on the wall. 4:25, someone ought to make some dinner soon even if the food wasn't going to be consumed you just needed one thing to still be the same and somewhat normal. You place the bag down on the couch and walk over to the kitchen. You grab some pans and some random ingredients out of the fridge and cabinet. You felt nervous cooking for what seemed like a whole family because that's what they were. Normally you would just cook for yourself and maybe your mom, so you didn't understand how Darry did it. His meals were always perfect and he carried so much confidence when he was in the kitchen, right now you felt like a loose mouse searching for food and hoping not to catch the kitchen on fire.
One fire was enough and maybe that was what made you nervous to cook. You didn't want to stare at the flame as you turn on the gas to the stove, you didn't wanna smell it. You didn't wanna work with it, but the boys need to eat.
Sighing, you turn it on hearing a click before the flames rise and you turn the temp down a bit. "Dinner will be ready soon."
God, please let my boys eat.

Darry Curtis x GN Reader- Coping Mechanism
Darry Curtis x Gender Neutral Reader
Angst, Hurt/Comfort.
CW: Implied body dysmorphia, depression/feeling of worthlessness. Angst. Reader seeing themselves as “ugly” or “chubby”. If any of these are triggering for you then I would not recommend reading this.
am I projecting a little bit/getting into my feels for this one shot? Yep, absolutely. But I need comfort and I need it now so y’all get to suffer through it with me.
x
There were many, many things y/n admired about Darry Curtis.
His hugs, his laugh, the way his muscles poked out of the tight shirts he wore. The way his greased-up bangs would fall in front of his face, or how his tongue would poke out slightly whenever he was really focused on something. From the “Good morning, sweetheart” to the “will ya tell the boys to quiet down? I’m tryna read the paper.”
Though it seemed that the line between “admiration” and “jealousy”, was beginning to blur.
Darry was the strongest man Y/n had ever met. Working two jobs, taking care of 2 kid-brothers, rent, meals, all by the age of 20. He’d lost both his parents, given up on his dreams and his childhood, but still somehow managed to keep it up. Everyday.
Which made it truly stand out, how pathetic Y/n truly was.
They had loving parents who raised them to the best of their abilities, a good education, and the average childhood.
Always having a roof over their head, food on the dinner table, and friends who cared for them. They had all they needed.
So why the hell, were they so close to breaking down?
How come anytime they looked in the mirror, the skin on their bones turned to blubber, spilling over the hem of their jeans. The bumps on their face brightening to the shade of a ripened apple, their hair getting greasy and flat only a day after showering.
Textbooks and homework packets piled into a school bag, stretching the straps and pulling on shoulders.
They had no right. Loving parents, loving friends, loving boyfriend.
They had.
No right.
The room was lonely, no one else but the h/c in the Curtis household. Sodapop and Darry had left for work hours ago, Ponyboy stuck in school. Y/n had skipped. Pathetic.
Buried under layers of blankets, wrapped in the cozy material they lay with their cheek pressed into the pillow. It was another “low” day, that’s what they had begun calling it- for they had no other way of describing it. “Low” days and “high” days, self explanatory.
Some days, such as this one, feel low like the skin of their stomach as it droops from their body. Low like their energy, any sort of motivation to even leave the comfort and warmth of Darry’s blankets.
Taking a glance at the clock across the room, y/n watched the hands ticking slowly.
‘16 more minutes…’
A couple more ticking noises. They check again.
‘15…’
Much like a dog awaiting its owner, y/n lay impatiently waiting for the eldest Curtis brother to arrive. It was his bed that they were all tangled in, his house. Only thing missing was him.
14 more minutes.
With an exasperated groan, they turn away from the clock. Maybe if they didn’t watch, it would happen faster.
Minutes slowly pass by, y/n’s eyelids drooping to a close. A suppressed yawn rumbled in their chest, dragging them closer to sleep until a familiar sound traveled through the house.
A front door rattling against a door frame, heavy boots creaking the floor boards. Y/n turns to the clock once more.
4:00 sharp.
Darry, instead of going straight to his room as y/n hoped, walks toward the shared bathroom in the house. Running water is the next sound that y/n recognizes, the tall man sighing in relief as hot water crashes onto his sweaty body.
He tiredly washes himself, removing the dirt and grime that covered his skin. Grease slipped from his hair, letting it go flat in the small tub as muddy brown water circled the drain. Drops of water settled into the crevices of his muscles, staying there even after he turned off the water and stepped out of the tub.
Quiet hums fill the air, following him through the hallway and down to where his impatient lover awaited him.
He wasn’t expecting to see the bundle of blankets on his bed, let alone a face sticking out of them. “Y/n? Why aren’t you at school.”
Y/n takes a moment to answer, admiring the man’s figure through half lidded eyes. “Didn’t feel like it…” they grumble, and he sighs.
“Ya can’t keep missing school like this…” he scolds, pulling a stray shirt over his head. Y/n groans. “Can ya really consider it school, when you’ve already graduated?”
“They’re extra classes, and they’ll help you get a job one day.” Darry responds, pulling on a fresh pair of boxers. Y/n doesn’t answer, turning their head away from him.
Pathetic, pathetic…
The lack of response doesn’t go unnoticed, the brunette glancing at his bed through his now free strands of hair. Another sigh escapes him.
He didn’t mean to sound condescending, truly. To him it seemed nothing less than logical to work as hard as possible, sometimes clouding his judgement towards y/n’s lazier coping mechanisms.
They were still undeniably perfect, in his eyes. The body they saw as “odd” or “underwhelmingly too much” was like a beautifully sculpted statue of h/c and s/c colors, to him. Though he had no idea how to share that with them, he knew it was true.
Through closed eyes, y/n hears the padding of feet approaching the bed, feeling someone hover above their figure.
Opening their eyes just a little, the pair’s eyes meet.
“Move over.”
The h/c does as told, rolling to the side, allowing Darry to slip under the covers and join them. His arms wrap around their tired body quickly, skin pressed against each other’s while the droplets of water cool y/n’s body down significantly, and the warmth of their body heating the brunettes’.
Darry rests his forehead against the hair on y/n’s head, trapping said person in his toned arms. His hands run down their sides, settling on their hip, though his thumb continues to trace lines up and down y/n’s skin.
Immediately a strong sense of comfort overwhelms them, the moment they’d been waiting for since he left that morning finally coming to embrace them.
“Go to bed, sweetheart. I ain’t going nowhere..”

Struggling in silence
ON HOLD
{Series; prologue}
Ep. 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary; You struggle heavily with mental health, but you don’t want to tell the gang, afraid of judgement. So you fake your happiness so they don’t know. Slowly they start figuring things out.
Warnings; Cussing, self harm, abuse, neglect, suicidal ideation, blood, gore, angst, mental illness, attempted suicide, sexual/nsfw themes, drugs, alcohol, violence.
Now playing; genexix
Tumblr media
You’ve known the gang your whole life, since your parents were friends with their parents and you were only 15.
Your life has always been hard; your parents were abusive. Nobody knew though. Not even the gang. You hid all your bruises so well and masked your emotions. Nobody suspected a thing.
Not to mention your un treated mental issues. You knew there was something wrong with you, but you refused to tell anybody. They would just use it against you. Like everyone does.
Back to the abuse; your dad would physically hurt you, along with mentally and verbally abuse you. While your mom ignored you in a whole. She always avoided your pleading eyes for help, and would grimace every-time you got beat.
If she wanted to, she could save me.
You started to think your father forgot about her existence. He would cheat on her every night, and only a knowledged her when they were outside around people they knew. Or in church. How ironic.
You were very close with the gang. They were your true family. Although you held love in your heart for your abusive and neglective parents, you will always love the gang more than you loved your parents.
You were super close to two people in particular; you liked them a little more than a friend should. You didn’t view them as family, though.
Relationships w the gang
Johnny Cade. He had it way rough at home, and you secretly related to him, though you’d never tell him. He’d accidentally slip up and tell Ponyboy, who would tell Darry due to worry about you, then Darry would tell the gang and your life would be over. Nobody knew about your huge crush on Johnny. Though you wanted to tell him how you felt, you knew he didn’t like you back, so you loved him from a distance.
Dallas Winston. He’s also another huge heart throb you have. Nobody knew about that, either. You loved him so much. You him and johnny were so close, and you’d all go crazy if you lost each other. He always protects you, and you keep him out of as much trouble as you can in return.
Darry curtis. He’s like an older-brother figure to you. Well— the whole gang (expect for j and d) are like older brothers to you. He’s a lot more strict than the others, but only because he cares. You get where he’s coming from, but he can be harsh.
Sodapop Curtis. Another big brother. Though he’s goofy, and you feel like you can let loose a little more around him. He doesn’t judge very much. He’s protective of you, because he sees you like a little sister. He’s a little more protective of you, than he is of Ponyboy, because Ponyboy is a little stronger than you. (Mentally and physically)
Ponyboy Curtis. He’s like a younger brother, but you view him like the same age as yourself, and he appreciates that. You understand him more than anyone in the gang, and he always goes to you for support. You’re glad that he can rely on you. He is also another reason why you won’t tell anyone about your troubles. You’ll disappoint everyone that rely on you— including pony. You and him also watch movies together and trade books.
Two-bit matthews. He’s goofy, and jokes around with you a lot. You both push each other around for the fun of it, and he thinks it’s the funniest shit ever. He knows when to be serious with you, like if you get seriously hurt, or something traumatic happens. He checks up on you every once in a while, cause he suspects something is up with you. He always tries his best to make you laugh.
Steve Randle. You and Steve don’t really acknowledge each-other much, but you do converse about cares every once in a while. You both still really care about each other— despite not being as close. He loves you and he’ll protect you no matter what, and vice versa.
That’s what’s important— now let’s get on to the story.

You were running as fast as you could, but it still wasn't fast enough. The street seemed to never end as you ran under lamppost after lamppost. The screams were still echoing around you, horrible cries of anger and pain. Some sounded like Ponyboy, others like Soda or Two-Bit. And then you heard a wail of agony.
"Darrel!" You called out, your voice only coming out in a whisper, no matter how hard you screamed out.
Through the foggy mist in front of you, you could see figures appearing. As you broke through the fog, you stumbled to a stop as your eyes looked over the scene in front of you.
Blood ran over the dark pavement, a switchblade lying next to a lifeless body. Sodapop. Just beside him was a bloodied Steve. Nearby you could see Two-Bit, his eyes staring up at the sky, but no life left in them.
Hearing a muffled sob, your attention was drawn to the crouched figure in the darkness. As you stepped closer, you saw Darrel, covered in blood, and in his lap, Ponybody, dead, just like the rest.
"Darrel?" You asked, your voice soft.
He stopped crying, and looked up at you, his eyes changing from agony to anger. "Where were you?!"
His voice cut through you like a knife and you stepped back. “You weren’t here…why weren’t you here? I needed you! They needed you! And you weren’t here!”
"I'm sorry. I didn't know. I'm sorry." You stepped back, before you stumbled over something, landing on your back. As you turned your head, your breath caught in your throat. Another body, dead eyes staring straight into yours. You looked back to where Darrel was, but only saw Ponyboy's body lying on the pavement.
No, Darrel was there, lying next to you, his lifeless eyes boring into yours. He was gone. He was dead. They all were. You failed them all.
As your eyes shot open, you looked around the room, panic coursing through you. Sitting up and throwing yourself back, your back and head slammed against the wall, seeming to shake you from your confused mind.
You were sweating, your heart racing, and tears were streaming down your face. Taking short labored breaths you looked around, as your eyes began to adjust. Anxiety and sadness still pulsed threw you as you slowly realized you were in your room, in your bed, it was just another nightmare.
Leaning your head back against the wall you took deep breaths, trying to calm down. You felt anger pulse through you as you lightly slammed your head against the wall.
This was the fourth time this week you were awoken by a nightmare. But this one was by far the worse. And you knew why.
There had been a sudden increase in Soc's jumping Greasers, causing your anxiety to heighten, and your nightmares to begin. But today, when you were supposed to walk Ponyboy home, you got caught up at work. And while he was waiting or you, alone, he got ganged up on and hurt pretty badly.
He didn't blame you, none of them did, but you blamed yourself, and that was enough. Enough to cause another nightmare, one that was worse than all the others. The vision of them all dead in front of you replayed in your head.
Climbing out of bed, you stood up, but felt a wave of dizziness wash over you causing you to stumble back into the bed. You let out a frustrated sigh as you sat for a moment, knowing it was due to the rude awakening, and the lack of sleep.
You looked up and around our room. Your house was silent, the only thing you could hear was the sound of crickets outside. The moon was full, the streets bright. You still felt as though you were shaking, unable to calm down, unable to sleep again. You needed Darry, he always made you feel safe, and you could always sleep when you were in his arms.
------------
Slowly, Darrel's ears picked up on an unusual noise. As his eyes fluttered open and he focused in on the sound, he recognized it as someone knocking lightly on the front door.
Hurrying out of bed, he rushed to the door, wondering who it was. Pony and Soda could sleep through anything, so he wasn't surprised he heard no movement from their room.
As he got to the door, he peaked out of the window before quickly opening the door. He felt his heart plummet when he saw you standing there, in your pajamas, your eyes were sunken and you had clearly been crying.
Stepping out he took a hold of either side of your arms "Y/n, what happened?"
You felt almost stupid now, standing here, having rushed down the road in the middle of the night. But you already felt ten times better being in front of him.
"Are you okay?" He asked after you stayed quiet.
"No." Your voice finally came out softy, almost a whimper. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come, but I-" You shook your head, feeling all the more ridiculous.
"A nightmare?" He asked softly, having known you'd been suffering from them recently.
You met his eyes shyly and nodded your head. He smiled softly at you before he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead.
"Never apologize for coming to me." Pulling you into a hug, you wrapped you arms around him. "If you came here in the middle of the night, it must have been a bad one." He said softly.
"The worst." You whispered.
"Come on." He said as he pulled away, leading you inside.
"Are you sure it's okay that I'm here?"
He looked back at you with an unsure smile. "Always." Stopping, as he noted how you quickly wiped your eyes, he brought his hands to your face, seeing another tear sliding down.
As you went to wipe it, you stopped, as he wiped it with his thumb. "You don’t have to hide your tears from me.”
You smiled softly and sniffled. "I feel like a child."
He just smiled before he turned, taking your hand as he led you into his room. Settling onto his bed, you lied with your head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around you.
After a few moments, when he could tell that you had relaxed, he spoke cautiously. "Do you want to tell me about it?"
You hesitated, unsure if you wanted to. Slowly, you spoke, not wanting to go into detail, for fear of reliving it.
"I was running to you and the others, and I could hear you screaming. When I got there-" You paused, taking a deep breath as the image from your nightmare replayed in your mind. "Everyone was dead. Pony, Soda, Two-Bit. Steve. But you were there, holding Pony. And you screamed at me. Blamed me. And then-"
"And then?" He asked, his voice soft.
"And then you were dead. Just lying there....And I was alone. Then I woke up."
There was a moment of silence before Darrel spoke. "What happened in the other nightmares, the one's before this?"
"Some were of me being chased, alone, or with the others. Some were me being held down and beaten. This was the first one were someone died. And it wasn't just someone, it was everyone."
"Do you think it's because of what happened with Ponyboy?" He asked quietly, making sure there was nothing but softness to his tone.
You nodded your head slowly. "I think so."
Adjusting yourself as Darrel moved to lay beside you, his face was right in front of yours, as he stared into your eyes.
"No one blames you, not Pony, not Soda, not me. I know you blame yourself, but whether or not they attacked Pony, they would have attacked someone anyways. I know there ain't much solace in that, but please believe me when I say it is not your fault."
Slowly, he began to stoke your face with his thumb. You felt yourself relaxing completely, as exhaustion started to wash over you. As you looked at him, the memory of seeing his dead eyes staring into yours flashed before you.
He continued. "This crap with the Soc's can't go on forever, and neither will your nightmares. But until then, and after, for as long as you want, I will be right here. Ears and arms open."
You smiled softly at him, as the image faded away. He wasn't dead, none of them were. He was right here, he was alive. You were safe.
Inching closer to him, you pressed your head into his chest as he wrapped his arms around you. "I never have nightmares when I'm here."
You felt him press a kiss to your head. "Then I suppose you just need to stay here forever."
You let out a soft giggle as you closed you eyes, feeling sleep beginning to take over. "That doesn't sound too bad at all."
xx End xx

A Safe Place || Dallas "Dally" Winston
Summary: Request - Can you do a Dally or Darry x female reader where reader is having a really difficult time at home (mom and dad are kinda like Johnny's parents and beat up physically and mentally on reader?)... Read Rest Here
A/N: As long as I live I will forever write The Outsiders. Such a unique group to write. This one is tough but I really love it!
Pairing: Dallas "Dally" Winston x Female Reader (Johnny Cade Sister)
Word Count: 3.3k +
TW: ABUSE, talks of abuse, hitting, bruises, cuts, blood, threats of violence, general Outsiders warnings
Tumblr media
As you stumbled through the door of the Curtis household the entire greaser gang turned to look at you. Their expressions shifting from surprise to concern in an instant. Dally was the first to react, his eyes widening in realization as he took in the extent of your injuries.
"Jesus, what happened to you?" Dally's voice was gruff but there was an underlying edge of worry as he approached you. His movements were surprisingly gentle as he took in your battered appearance. His usually stern expression softened which revealed a glimpse of the concern that lurked beneath his tough exterior.
You could feel the weight of their stares. Their unspoken questions hanging heavy in the air. It was clear that they were shocked by the state you were in, and the realization only made you feel more vulnerable. Because for as bad as you felt you just knew you looked 10 times worse. It wasn’t the first time he’d laid hands on you, but it was the first time he didn’t seem to want to stop.
"I-I... I had a run-in with my old man," you managed to choke out. Your voice was barely above a whisper as you fought to hold back the tears brimming at the edge of your eyes. You’d done so good escaping it was suddenly catching up to you what you had just gone through. The words tasted bitter on your tongue. A painful reminder of the nightmare you couldn't escape.
Steve's jaw clenched tight with anger as he took in your bruised and bloodied face, his hands curling into fists at his sides. "That bastard," he muttered under his breath, his voice thick with rage. "He’s gonna pay for this, I swear."
Dally's expression darkened at your words. His features contorted with a mixture of anger and sorrow. "I'll kill him," he growled, his fists clenched at his sides as he fought to contain the rage simmering just beneath the surface. His words hung heavy in the air as it was a promise of retribution that sent a shiver down your spine. The scary part was that you knew he would kill him given the chance. It was one thing with Johnny… but when he saw you so battered he found a rage not even he knew he had.
Instinctively you flinched at his declaration. The raw intensity in his voice triggering a flood of memories you wished you could forget. You had already endured so much, the wounds—both physical and emotional—still fresh and raw. The thought of more violence only served to deepen the pit of dread that churned in your stomach. Sure, you grew up with the greasers but it never made the violence and threats of it any easier.
As if sensing your reaction Dally's eyes softened with remorse. A pang of guilt flickering across his features. He reached out tentatively, his hand hovering uncertainly over your shoulder before finally making the gentlest contact. He was afraid of the bruises underneath your clothes, the ones he couldn’t see. "Hey," he murmured, his voice surprisingly gentle despite the harshness of his earlier words. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
You blinked in surprise, caught off guard by the sincerity in his tone. For all his tough exterior there was a vulnerability in Dally that few ever got to see. A glimpse of the boy beneath the cocky attitude that he showed all too often. As you looked into his eyes you saw not just the anger and the pain, but also the deep-seated compassion that he tried so hard to conceal. His presence was a balm to your battered soul. A reminder that you were not alone in your struggles.
Dally's sharp gaze hardened as he turned to the group just staring at the scene unfolding before them. "Get the hell out of here if you ain’t gonna be useful," he ordered, his voice firm and commanding. "Give us some space guys." The rest of the gang exchanged uneasy glances before nodding in agreement, understanding the need for solitude in such a vulnerable moment. With one last look of concern, they filed out of the room leaving you and Dally in a cocoon of quiet solidarity.
As Soda made to leave with them Dally stopped him with a firm hand on his arm. "Soda, wait," he said, his voice softer now, filled with urgency. "Get the first aid kit and a warm towel. We need to clean her up." Soda nodded in understanding, a determined look crossing his features as he hurried off to retrieve the supplies.
As Soda hurried off to retrieve the supplies, Dally turned his attention back to you, his expression a mix of concern and determination. "Hang in there, sweetheart," he said softly. His voice laced with reassurance as he gently brushed a strand of hair from your face. "We'll get you patched up real quick."
You managed a weak smile. So grateful for his comforting words amidst the raging emotions swirling inside you. Despite the pain and the fear that still lingered there was a sense of relief knowing that you were in capable hands. You were being taken care of the boy who cared deeply for your well-being.
A knowing smile just ghosted over Soda's lips as he returned with the first aid kit and a warm towel. He was silently acknowledging the unspoken bond between you and Dally. He knew how much Dally had loved you for so long. And seeing the two of you together now filled him with a bittersweet sense of pride. He’d never seen Dallas so gentle.
With practiced efficiency, Dally and Soda set to work cleaning and dressing your wounds. Their movements gentle yet purposeful as they tended to each cut and bruise with care. Dally's hands were surprisingly gentle as he worked. A stark contrast to the roughness you had come to expect from him. However, even he wasn’t perfect. There was a moment when Dally accidentally pressed a little too hard on one of your bruises causing you to let out an involuntary yelp of pain. Instantly his expression shifted. A look of sadness crossing his features as he realized his mistake.
"I'm so sorry, sweetheart," he murmured. His voice filled with genuine remorse as he gently pulled back, his hands hovering uncertainly over your injured skin. "I didn't mean to hurt you. I'll be more careful, I promise."
You could see the sincerity in his eyes. It was layered with a depth of emotion you hadn't seen from him before. A stark reminder that beneath his tough exterior there was that vulnerability he tried so hard to conceal. You saw not just the pain and the regret in his eyes but also the profound sense of care and affection that he held for you.
"It's okay, Dally, really" you reassured him, your voice soft as you reached out to place a comforting hand on his arm. "I know you didn't mean it. I’m so lucky to have you."
His gaze softened at your words. A small flicker of gratitude passing between you as you shared a moment of understanding. Despite the rough edges and the scars that marked his soul there was a gentleness to Dally that few ever got to see. A side of him that he reserved for those he held closest to his heart. A side that only seemed reserved for you.
With a nod of appreciation Dally resumed his careful ministrations. His touch lighter and more cautious than before. And as he worked to tend to your wounds with a renewed focus, you couldn't help but feel a swell of affection for the boy who had always been there for you. Always, no questions asked.
As Dally apologized profusely and you reassured him, Soda noticed the exchange between you two. Sensing the depth of emotion in the room he took a step back giving you and Dally a moment of privacy. There was that knowing look in Soda's eyes, an acknowledgment of the connection between you and Dally. With a subtle nod Soda retreated to give you both some space. His intuition telling him that this was a moment that needed to be shared between just the two of you. As he busied himself with tidying up the first aid supplies before exiting the room, he couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth fill his chest for the two of you.
Once Dally finished tending to your wounds with careful precision a flood of emotions washed over you. Threatening to overwhelm your fragile composure. The physical pain had subsided only to be replaced now by a tidal wave of raw emotion that surged through your veins like a raging river. Tears welled up in your eyes, blurring your vision as you struggled to contain the torrent of feelings that threatened to consume you. It wasn't just the pain of your injuries that brought you to tears, but the weight of everything you had endured, the fear, the loneliness, the relentless cycle of abuse that had plagued your life for so long.
You cried for your little brother, lost and alone in a world that had turned its back on him. Your Johnny. You cried for the father who had betrayed your trust as his fists rained down upon you with a cruelty that knew no bounds. But most of all you cried for Dally, for his unexpected gentleness and the overwhelming sense of safety and comfort that he had provided in your darkest hour.
As you sat with Dally in the quiet intimacy of the room you felt a sense of release wash over you. A cathartic release of pent-up emotion that had been building inside you for far too long. And as the tears flowed freely down your cheeks you knew that you were not alone. That you were loved and cherished by the one person who had always been there for you, offering his unwavering support and understanding in the face of adversity.
As your tears flowed Dally's heart ached with a depth of emotion he had never allowed himself to fully acknowledge before. Without hesitation, he shifted, pulling you fully onto his lap, cradling you against his chest with a tenderness that was so different than his tough exterior. His arms wrapped around you protectively creating a safety that enveloped you both.
He rubbed soothing circles on your back. His touch a comforting reassurance of his unwavering support. In the quietness of the moment, he whispered words of comfort and encouragement. His voice a gentle murmur in the stillness of the room.
Feeling your sobs intensify he tightened his embrace. His hold on you was firm yet gentle as if trying to absorb some of the pain that wracked your body and soul. With each shuddering breath you took he squeezed you tighter. His touch was a silent reassurance that he was there for you. He would never let you face your demons alone.
"You're safe now, sweetheart," he murmured. His breath warm against your ear. "You don't have to be strong all the time. Let it out. I'm here for you."
His words were a lifeline in the darkness, a reminder that you were not alone in your pain. With each gentle stroke of his hand against your back, he offered you solace and understanding, his touch a silent promise of his unwavering support.
"It's okay to cry," he whispered, his voice a gentle murmur in the stillness of the room. "I've got you. I won't let anyone hurt you again, I swear it."
His heart broke for you, for the girl he cared for more deeply than he dared to admit. In that moment, as he held you close, he wished he could take away all the pain and suffering you had endured, to shield you from the cruelties of the world with nothing more than his love.
As time passed your sobs gradually subsided leaving behind a lingering sense of emptiness and exhaustion. In the quiet aftermath of your tears, you took a shaky breath. Your chest still tight with emotion. Dally held you close.
Feeling his steady heartbeat beneath your ear you found solace in the warmth of his embrace. With a heavy sigh you finally found the strength to speak. Your voice trembling with the weight of the words you had kept buried deep within your heart.
"I miss him," you spoke. Your voice barely above a whisper as you spoke of your little brother, lost and alone in a world that had turned its back on him. "I miss Johnny so much it hurts."
Tears welled up in your eyes once more, threatening to spill over as you thought of your brother who had been forced to run away. His pure innocence stolen by the cruelty of the world.
"I miss the way things used to be," you continued. Your voice filled with longing as you spoke of a time before your father's descent into darkness, before the alcohol and the violence tore your family apart. "I miss when my dad wasn't a drunk, when he was still my dad, you know?"
Your words hung heavy in the air, a poignant reminder of the innocence you had lost, of the life that seemed so distant and foreign now. In the safety of Dally's embrace, you allowed yourself to mourn the loss of the past, to grieve for the family that had been torn apart by forces beyond your control.
As you spoke of missing Johnny, Dally's embrace tightened. His arms offering you a sense of strength and stability amidst the chaos of your emotions. His voice was gentle as he responded. His words a quiet reassurance in the face of your pain.
"I know, sweetheart," he murmured, his breath warm against your ear. "We all miss him. But you know Johnny, he's resourceful as hell. And with Pony by his side? Those two can handle anything."
There was a quiet conviction in Dally's voice. It was a steadfast belief in Johnny's resilience that offered you a glimmer of hope in the darkness. Despite the uncertainty of his fate, you found comfort in Dally's unwavering confidence. He was a reminder that you were not alone in your worries for your brother.
"And your dad..." Dally trailed off, his voice heavy with sympathy as he spoke of the man who had once been your protector, now reduced to a shadow of his former self. "He's not the man you remember, I know. But that ain't your fault, darlin'. None of this is."
His words were a lifeline in the darkness, a reminder that you were not to blame for the sins of your father, that you deserved love and happiness just as much as anyone else. In the safety of his embrace, you allowed yourself to mourn the loss of the past, to grieve for the family that had been torn apart by forces beyond your control.
But even as the tears continued to fall, you knew that you were not alone. That Dally was there for you and always ready to offer his unwavering support and understanding in the face of your pain. As you clung to each other in the quiet darkness you found solace in the simple act of being together.
As your emotions opened you realized your love for him wasn't triggered by a simple moment. But rather by a complex series of events that had been building up over time. It was the culmination of countless conversations, shared moments, and lingering glances that had slowly but surely chipped away at the walls around your heart.
It started with the little things. Like the way he always seemed to know exactly what to say to make you laugh or the way he would brush a strand of hair from your face with a tenderness that took your breath away. It was the late-night conversations that stretched into the early hours of the morning, the whispered confessions and shared secrets that bound you together in ways you couldn't explain. But it was also the bigger moments. The ones that left you reeling with emotion and uncertainty. There was a time you called, and he showed up at your door in the middle of the night. No questions he was there as his face drawn and tired, and you knew without a doubt that he would always be there for you, no matter what.
As you looked into his eyes and saw the depth of his feelings reflected back at you, something shifted inside you. It was as if all the pieces fell into place like a puzzle finally coming together after years of searching. And in that moment, you knew. You knew that you couldn't keep it to yourself any longer, that you had to tell him how you felt, no matter the consequences.
So, you took a deep breath. Steeling yourself for what was to come, and you let the words spill from your lips in a rush of emotion. It was messy and imperfect, but it was real. It was true. And it was exactly what you needed to say.
"I... Dally, I just... I don't even know where to start," you began. Your voice trembling with emotion as you struggled to find the right words. "But I can't keep it in any longer. I think... no, I know I... I love you. Like, really love you."
Your admission hung heavy in the air, a confession so raw and honest that it left you feeling exposed, vulnerable. But as you looked into Dally's eyes, filled with a mixture of surprise and tenderness, you knew that you had made the right decision to speak your truth.
"I know it sounds crazy," you continued, your words tumbling out in a rush. "But it's true. You've always been there for me, through thick and thin. And it's not just because you're always there to clean up my messes or protect me from the world, although you do a damn good job of that. It's because... because I genuinely care about you, Dallas Winston. I care about you more than I ever thought possible. And it scares me sometimes, how much I care."
Your heart pounded in your chest as you bared your soul to him, laying your feelings bare for the world to see. But as you spoke, a sense of relief washed over you, knowing that you had finally spoken the words that had been weighing on your heart for so long.
"And I know it's a lot to take in," you concluded, your voice barely above a whisper. "But I had to tell you. I couldn't keep it to myself any longer."
For a moment, the air felt thick with anticipation. The intensity of your confession hanging between you like a tangible thing. And then as if a switch had been flipped, the hardness in Dally's eyes melted away. Replaced by a warmth that seemed to radiate from deep within him.
A soft smile tugged at the corners of his mouth gradually blossoming into a grin that lit up his entire face. It was a grin like you'd never seen before. A grin that reached all the way to his eyes filling them with a light you hadn't realized was missing.
His fingers brushed gently against your tear-stained cheeks. His touch tender and affectionate as he cupped your face in his hands. There was a sense of wonder in his expression, as if he couldn't quite believe what was happening, as if he had never dared to hope for this moment.
"Damn, sweetheart," he breathed. His voice tinged with awe. "I never knew you had it in you. Talking like that. But I'm glad you did. Because, hell, I love you too. I always have."
His words sent a rush of warmth through you. A feeling of elation that bubbled up from deep within your chest. And as you looked into his eyes, shining with a happiness you had never seen before, you knew that this was just the beginning of something beautiful, something real and true and utterly perfect.

A/N: This was a request so I hope you enjoy. I haven't written fluff in a while so im sorry if it's rough. My request box is always open and I love you guys <3
✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
"Move asshole" I groaned as Steve sat next to me on the couch. He rolled his eyes, remaining in my space. "You're being such a B-" A loud voice came roaring from the kitchen, almost causing a echo through out the Curtis house. " Language, Steve!" Darry. I laughed at Steve getting called out by Darry. My laugh was hard to miss causing Darry to tell me to shut up too.
Ive known the gang for a long time, especially with Dallas being my brother. Most people think that he must have such a soft spot for me but truth is he's still him. Annoying as shit just in big brother form. Me and Steve never got along. He always acted weird towards me for no reason and I just return the favor.
I stuck my middle finger up to Steve and kicked him off the couch, causing a loud thud. "What the hell was that?" Soda exclaimed from the hallway. "I kicked the cow off the couch" I exclaimed with a laugh. Two-bit who was sitting on the floor with a beer busted out laughing with me. Steve pulled himself off the floor, mumbling something as he walked over to Soda.
It seemed like we could never go day without arguing or a fight. We even fight at the Dx while working: "Thats not how you're supposed to restock those." Steve said from behind me. I shrugged acting like I didn't feel his breath on my neck from how close he was. "Seems right to me. Leave me be, Randle." I continued to restock the candy till I felt Steve grab my hand and spin me around.
"You're still doing it wrong" his voice got lower, as he had me again the wall. I rolled my eyes. Men are so sensitive... "Really? All this over restocking candy? Get a grip, Steven" I spit my words like they were poison. "Screw you, Winston" I laughed at his words as he let go and walked away.
We kept our distance for the most part but it tends to get hard when the whole gang wants to hang out together. And when we run into each-other randomly. Sometimes I don't even get the point of why we're arguing we just do.
One thing is that we both know when something too far, subjects that are off limits. Its almost as if that we are protective of each other's feelings in a way.
Dallas and Soda live for the drama but sometimes even they get fed up. Once, me and him were arguing about whether Steves tattoo is dumb or not. It is. Dallas came over smacked the back of our heads and said "Do you guy ever shut the hell up?" then walked out. I was absolutely flabbergasted at that.
Even tho were "enemies" as Steve calls it, Ive wondered what it would be like if we weren't. If he hadn't acted like a asshole all the time, I wouldn't be one too.
                                ⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
It was my shift at the Dx. Today was Sodas off day so I was left with Steve. He was nagging at everything I was doing. "You're doing it wrong" , "Shut the hell up, Randle" , "Ive worked here longer than you", and "And yet, I'm still better at my job than you'll ever be" were being thrown across the room. After I said my last words, I walked into the back to get away from him. God, he is insufferable!
After about five minutes, I heard the storage room open. I rolled my eyes for the 5th time this  shift because I knew who it was. "Can you do your job" Steve said to me. I flipped him off and got up, stepping in front of him. "Can you stop running your mouth, asshole?" I pushed him lightly. He looked unamused as I pushed him again.
He rolled his eyes at me before grabbing my wrist and backing me up into the same wall as last time. Unbelievable...I scoffed at him "How many times are you gonna push me against this wall before you actually do something? You're a pussy." He scanned my face, examining my reaction.
We stared at each other for a couple seconds, like we were unable to speak. Once we made, eye contact it was over, his lips desperately attaching to mine. My arms came around his shoulders making him pull into me more. I felt myself being lifted lightly off the ground as Steves hands went down to my waist, signaling for me to wrap my legs around him.
Our kiss was fierce and filled with pure ecstasy, making our feelings that were always hate into love. Or thats what we thought at first but they were always love, it just felt like it needed to be hate because it couldn't be expressed well enough yet. It feels better to be on right side of it now.
We pulled away breathless, my teeth lightly catching lip bottom left before it truly ended. My head fell down to his chest, laughing as I realized what we had just done. When I looked back up, I was met with his smirking face. "I hate you so much, Randle." I joked.
Steve pulled me into another kiss, his hand coming to my face to deepen it. " Y'know, Ive liked you since we were kids. I just didn't know how to express it. I want to apologize for the past few years. Let me take you out, to make up for it?" He said looking down ashamed.
I smiled at his words. "I forgive you, I guess. Now kiss me." For once, we actually had a good conversation.

Steve was driving home from the DX when he looked over at the alley where Y/N normally hung out with their friends from the Shepard gang. The usually baron area was surrounded by cop cars and an ambulance. “Oh for fuck sake Y/N did you kill someone?” he muttered under his breath before pulling in at the nearest payphone. The greaser dialled his S/O’s number. it rang out. He rang the rest of the gang and received the same answer from each of them; “Y/N said they were spending the day with their other friends. Some of the Shepard guys.” He sighed. Suddenly, the thought hit him. “Shit!”
Steve bolted back to the alleyway, not bothering to grab his car. He spotted Y/N lying on the ground and sped up. Just as he was climbing over the police tape someone stopped him. “Sorry kid, you can’t go past this line. that’s the law.” A policeman held him back by the shoulder. “That’s my S/O in there! please, i can’t stay here. please..” Steve begged, his voice getting more unsteady with each word. The officer let go of his shoulder and Steve ran over to Y/N. He skidded on his knees as he got close. Tears flowed down his face as he saw the bullet wound on his love’s side. Y/N opened their eye. “Hey Stevie.” They managed a weak smile. “Y/N..darlin’ i told you to stop gettin’ into so many fights all the time.” Steve almost sobbed. He held their hand tight and brushed a stray hair off their forehead. A paramedic came up to them. “Is there any family we can call?” Steve gave Darry’s name without hesitation.
“Stevie?” Y/N whispered. “Yeah darlin i’m here i won’t leave you. i won’t leave you…” He whispered back, trying to stay strong. “Please don’t cry. I want this Stevie, please don’t cry.” Y/N begged. They sat there in silence for a moment. “I love you Y/N. You’re my everything. Stay with me, ok?” Y/N looked deep into his eyes. “I’m sorry Stevie..I love you. Just know, this ain’t your fault. It was my decision. I love you.” They continued. Steve leaned down and kissed them, they felt slightly cold. The paramedic came back. “The people we called are here. We need you to step back now.” Steve looked up at the paramedic. “Is there any way i can stay??” They shook their head. “We need to try to get them to a state where we can bring them to the hospital.” Y/N looked at the greaser. “I’ll be ok, go, i’ll see you soon.” Steve kissed his lover one last time before joining the rest of their gang.
Soda put his arm around his friends shoulders. The doctors tried to help Y/N but it was too late. “they’re dead. I’m sorry for your loss” a doctor announced as he walked over to the seven boys. Darry gasped softly. Ponyboy and Johnny both let out what sounded like a squeak. Sodapop whispered something under his breath. Dallas punched a nearby wall and Steve fell to the ground with a sob. “You have to be able to do something. Please! It’s not to late! There has to be something you can do?” He wailed. The doctor shook his head before going back to load up the body of Steve’s lover. “Wait!!” The greaser called. “Can i take their jacket. Please..” A nurse took the jacket off Y/N and handed it to Steve. “Thank you.” He walked back towards Sodapop but kept walking. He sat on the bridge where he and Y/N had their first kiss. He cried for hours. “Why would you leave me Y/N..Why…” He got up again and walked. He walked off into the darkness with nothing in his mind except the image of his once energetic lover lying lifeless on the ground.
