I wanted to try something different for Day 50 of my #drawingaday challenge, so I thought, and I thought some more, and then I made this geometric piece. It’s available as a tattoo as well if it resonates with anyone. Minimalist design combined with a touch of symbolism. It represents the similarities of life at different magnification on this plane of existence. A flower grows and expands to a blossom just like the universe and continues the cycle. From order to chaos and back again, over and over. They say the nature of the universe is to tend towards entropy, but I wonder, since we can only see back in time, and not forwards, we don’t know what happens at the point of total entropy. Does our universe, much like a flower, tend back towards order again after a period of dormancy? Maybe the universe is cyclical, but all we’ve been able to measure so far is it’s expansion since our lifespan as a species of sentient humans has been so comparatively short. Could it be breathing, alive? One giant organism in a state of perpetual expansion and contraction? Some days I just find myself in awe of this reality, and try to use my meager powers as a artist/human to describe it. I always feel like I fall short, but maybe that’s the idea. I’m just a speck on a flying rock making pretty pictures. Anyways, I don’t think it would be any fun if we could understand it all. I try not to think too deep very often, I’ve heard that one with much knowledge smiles little; but sometimes it’s nice to dream a little and let your mind wander.
