Toko and Sayaka for the asks 👀
Toko my worstie Toko ^_^ smelly
favorite thing about them: Is it the fact that she's smelly her design her voice in both languages her cringe and lack of swag is it her ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
least favorite thing about them: how her DID was handled 💔 also you know that scene in chapter 6 where Makoto gives everyone hope LOOK I LOVE GENOCIDE JACK however I'm depressed because I want Toko to have hope 💔
favorite line: If it was, she would be totally decomposed...just like your brain!
brOTP: Tokomaru and I like her little friendship with Makoto 😭😭
OTP: tokomaru again I think it can go both ways yippee
nOTP: I don't like her with byakuya it's so cringe in my eyes 💔
random headcanon: Post-UDG before she like Truly tries to change everytime Toko/Komaru had convos Toko would have no idea how to start because she has the social skills of a rock. So she would just gossip about the other survivors
unpopular opinion: DR1 Toko is delightfully cringe everyone’s just being mean because they're afraid of girls who fail at Tasks. ❤️
song i associate with them: this is hard tbh. Random three days grace song my music taste is so limited 💔
favorite picture of them:

SAYAKA!!!! OUGH the masked idol...
favorite thing about them: The way she hides behind a mask also love her sprites they convey a lot of emotion
least favorite thing about them: Tbh, not sure. I love her ❤️
favorite line: Chili oil. (she was so real for this)
brOTP: Her and Makoto they are so silly together ^_^
OTP: Fukazono (OK HERE’S MY 5 MILLION THESIS ON HOW THEY INTERACTED PRE-TRAGEDY IN MY MIND)Sayaka and Mikan are in the library fangirling over Toko’s books and then Sayaka vents about struggling to think of a song for her to sing to Makoto as a gift for him helping her out with homework. Milan then goes “oh what if you asked Toko to help you write a song? She's really good at books...” and then Sayaka runs over to Toko and goes “Hey Toko can I ask you something” and before Toko refuses Sayaka goes anyway “Can you help me write a song for me to sing to Makoto ^_^” and Toko is FREAKING OUT INTERNALLY and she agrees except she purposefully makes the song emo and dark so a cute pretty girly pop idol like her wouldn't ever ask her for help again. She gives the script to her and Sayaka goes “OMG TOKO THIS IS AMAZING” and Toko’s like “HUH...” Can you tell I'm deranged btw
nOTP: Tbh none comes to mind? 😭
random headcanon: She likes to host sleepovers with the other girls ^_^
unpopular opinion: I think it was awesome she attempted murder actually everyone's just afraid of women who (attempt to) slay
song i associate with them: Angel of Love because I'm normal <3 real answer is Negaigoto Ensemble

Look at Me (Happy Belated Birthday Togami!)
Hey, you guys! It’s kawaiikichi with a belated birthday one-shot for the one and only Byakuya Togami! I was supposed to have this up for his birthday, but in the end, it never happened. But I figured that since we’re still in his birthday month, it should still count, right? XD
So, a few months ago, I finally got my friend to start playing the first Danganronpa game. Just listening to her telling me her thoughts about it (characters that she likes, characters she doesn’t like, ships that she’s leaning towards, etc) made me think back on some of my old OTPs that I haven’t written for in a while. One of those is Naegami (which is coincidentally a ship that she’s starting to ship; I’m so proud of her for being an intellectual XD).
I decided to return to some of my older works that I wrote when I was still active on Fanfiction Amino, polish them a bit, and then upload them here. This one in particular is me combining two separate one-shots into one with a lot of editing and additional scenes.
So, I hope you guys like it! :)
(And happy belated birthday, Togami!)
Title: Look at Me
Summary: Makoto has had a crush on Byakuya from the moment their eyes met. However, with how Byakuya treats him, Makoto’s crush is unrequited and he finds himself getting more and more hurt by his words. But, is that really all there is to it?
One-Shot Notes: Basically a mashup of two of my Naegami one-shots that I had uploaded on Fanfiction Amino with some additional scenes and a whole lot of editing; an AU where they all choose to cohabit with one another rather than participate in the killing game; due to the fact that I haven’t written Naegami in forever and I’m going off of what I remember about their ship dynamic and what not, they might be OOC, so I’m just warning you all ahead of time
One-shot is under the cut!
Makoto was busy putting some books back in their appropriate spots on the bookshelf when a voice called out to him.
"Oi, go get me some coffee."
He nearly jolted at the voice. He turned to look at Byakuya, who peered at him over the book he was reading.
"Huh?" Makoto answered.
"I said to go get me some coffee." Byakuya stated.
"Ah! I...I'll get that right away!" Makoto stammered out before rushing out of the library and making his way down the stairs to the cafeteria.
He went into the kitchen, picked out a mug, and he began to brew some coffee for Byakuya.
As he started up the coffee maker, a voice called out to him.
"Naegi-kun?"
Makoto turned at the voice, seeing Kyouko enter the kitchen.
"Ah! Kirigiri-san!" he exclaimed.
"What are you doing here? You should be helping us out with searching the school." she stated.
"Ah. Well...Togami-kun told me to come and brew him some coffee..." he trailed off.
Kyouko breathed out a deep sigh.
"You need to stop wasting your time on him. He's not worth it." she said.
"But..." Makoto scratched lightly at his chin. "I love him..." he murmured quietly, his cheeks taking on a rosy pink color.
Ever since he had first locked eyes on Byakuya, Makoto had felt some sort of attraction to him. He was totally in love with him.
But, he knew that Byakuya could never feel that way towards him. He would never see him as Makoto Naegi. To Byakuya Togami, Makoto Naegi was nothing more than a mere errand boy. That was it.
Even if that was so, Makoto still loved him. He couldn't ever bring himself to forget or let go of his love for him. So, he continued to quietly love him, even though it hurt so much.
His thoughts were cut off by an exasperated sigh.
"Well, go ahead and ruin yourself." Kyouko went over and got an apple from the fridge. "Don't say I didn't warn you." she said before marching off.
Makoto breathed out a sigh as he finished brewing Byakuya’s coffee. He turned the coffee maker off and he began making his way back up to the library.
As he walked down the hallway on the second floor, he heard a voice.
"Oi, stop bothering me!"
"Eh?! But, Byakuya-sama...!"
Makoto stopped in his tracks, recognizing those two voices immediately. Touko was pestering Byakuya once again.
It was always like that. Byakuya seemed to be more talkative when it came to her. It almost made Makoto jealous (even though all the blond would say to her was to leave him alone).
He found it in him to walk again and he made his way into the library to see Byakuya trying to concentrate on reading his book and Touko gazing at him with a love struck look in her eyes. Makoto bit his lip as he opened his mouth to speak.
"Uh...Togami-kun..." he trailed off.
Byakuya looked up from his book, glowering at Makoto.
"What?" he responded coldly.
"Um..." Makoto swallowed as he held the coffee cup up. "Coffee?" he spoke nervously.
"Ah, bring that over to me." Byakuya said, ushering Makoto to come closer.
Makoto nodded slowly as he walked over to Byakuya. The blond took the mug from him, their fingers brushing together ever so slightly. Makoto immediately let go, yanking his hand away like he had been scorched by fire. Byakuya didn’t seem to notice how flustered Makoto looked as he snapped the book he was reading shut, offering it to Makoto.
"Get me another book. This one is boring me." Byakuya said.
"Okay..." Makoto trailed off as he took the book and headed off to put it back.
As he went into an aisle, he heard Byakuya snapping at Touko and telling her to go away. He sighed as he put the book back and he pulled out another one. He ran his hand along the cover, a sad sigh escaping his lips. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t notice how the the library went silent or heard the footsteps making their way over to him.
"When will he just look at me...?" he mumbled out.
"What are you mumbling about over there?" a hand was placed by his head on the bookshelf, making Makoto gasp as he whirled around.
"T-Togami-kun!" he stuttered out.
Byakuya’s eyebrows were knitted, a scowl on his face as he stared at Makoto.
“Does it really take that long to bring me a book?” he asked.
“I...” Makoto could hear his heart pounding loudly in his ears. “I’m sorry...I was lost in thought...” he trailed off.
Byakuya sighed.
“As expected of a plebeian.” he commented.
Makoto stayed silent as Byakuya continued.
"Whatever. Back to the matter at hand." Byakuya leaned in towards Makoto. "Tell me, what exactly were you mumbling about?" he asked.
Makoto swallowed as he stared at Byakuya, the pounding in his ears getting louder. The blond’s piercing steel blue gaze gave him goosebumps and the thick scent of his cologne hanging over him made his head spin. His tongue darted out to lick his lips as he began to think.
Should I really say what’s on my mind, he asked himself.
“Do you really intend on continuing to waste my time?” Byakuya’s words pulled Makoto out of his thoughts.
“Ah! I...I’m really sorry!” Makoto apologized.
“Geez, you have no sense of urgency.” Byakuya snatched the book out of Makoto’s hand. “If you don’t plan on telling me, then I’ll go back and start reading this.” he said as he turned to leave.
Makoto’s eyes widened as he watched Byakuya begin to walk off. Before he could stop himself, he reached out and grabbed for Byakuya’s coat sleeve.
“Wait.” he called out, his voice small and meek.
He expected Byakuya to shake him off and continue on his way, but surprisingly enough, he did no such thing. He slowly turned, watching Makoto expectantly.
Makoto swallowed once more.
It was now or never.
"Why...Why won't you look at me?" he asked after a few moments of silence.
"Hm?" Byakuya eyed Makoto like he just said something stupid. "Aren't I already doing that?" he asked.
Makoto’s eyes grew wide as he stared at him. He wanted to say something more, but the words refused to be spoken. It was like someone stuffed his throat with cotton.
"Now," Byakuya yanked his arm away, "if you’re done rambling about nonsensical things, I’ll resume my reading session and you can go do something else." he said before pulling away and walking off.
Makoto’s cheeks turned a beet red as he slammed a fist against his mouth.
You know exactly what I mean, Togami-kun. I want you to look at me for me, not as your errand boy, he thought to himself.
And for the first time ever since they had gotten locked up at Hope's Peak Academy, he began to cry.
📚🍀📚🍀
Kyouko shot Makoto a blank look as she stirred some creamer into her coffee.
“I warned you.” she stated bluntly.
“I know you warned me.” Makoto groaned out as he slumped over the table in the cafeteria.
Kyouko took a sip of her coffee as she observed Makoto, noting the dark circles under his eyes, the dried tear marks on his cheeks, and the red tinge of his eyes.
“Did you happen to get any sleep these past couple of days?” she asked.
“Of course I did! Sleep is important, after all.” he replied.
Kyouko narrowed her eyes at him skeptically. They continued to stare at each other before Makoto released a sigh.
“Okay, you got me.” he said.
“Damn right, I did.” Kyouko took another sip. “Like I said, he’s not worth your time. If he’s going to continue to treat you like this, then I suggest you move and find someone who will treat you nicer.” she stated.
“But, who would that even be? There’s no one here that interests me like he does.” Makoto stated.
“Then, just stay single for the rest of the time you’re here, I don’t know. What I do know is that you can’t keep hurting yourself like this.” she stated, pointing a finger at him.
Makoto bit his lip.
“I guess so...” he trailed off.
Kyouko took another sip from her coffee.
“If I recall correctly, you already wrote a love confession to him, haven’t you?” she asked.
“Huh? Oh, that.” Makoto scratched the back of his head. “I should probably get rid of that, huh?” he mumbled.
“You should.” Kyouko replied.
“Yeah, you’re right...maybe instead of a love confession, I should leave behind a note saying that I’m going to get over him.” Makoto said.
He stood from his seat.
“Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. He won’t read it anyway, so it’ll just be my little secret.” he said.
He turned to leave.
“I need to go and write it. I’ll see you later, Kirigiri-san!” he shouted over his shoulder as he rushed out of the cafeteria.
“Yeah.” Kyouko replied as he left the cafeteria.
She released a sigh as she finished off her coffee, recalling the past couple of nights she listened to him crying through his slightly ajar bedroom door as she was heading to her room for the night.
“This is for the best.” she rested her cup on the table. “This way, he won’t get hurt anymore.” she spoke quietly.
📚🍀📚🍀
Byakuya sat at his usual table in the library, flipping through yet another book.
He tried to focus on what he was reading, but his mind kept drifting.
He found himself thinking about a certain lucky student.
Two days have passed since they last spoke. Makoto had been distant as of late, which was pretty unusual. Every time he tried calling him over to do something for him, the lucky student would either be preoccupied with some of the other students or he’d avert his gaze and rush off to do god knows what.
If Byakuya was being honest, it was starting to irritate him.
He didn’t know when it began, but he felt some sort of pull towards him. There was something about Makoto that intrigued him, although he couldn’t quite place what that something was.
At some point, he assumed that what he felt towards Makoto was love, but he immediately shooed that thought away.
Him? In love?
What a joke.
He released an irritated sigh, snapping the book shut as he looked to see Touko staring at him.
“Would it kill you to leave me alone for a day?” he barked out.
“But Byakuya-sama, I couldn’t possibly do that!” Touko exclaimed.
“I want to read in peace, so leave me alone.” he stated.
“I wish to be useful to you though, Byakuya-sama! I’ll do whatever it is you ask!”
“You want to be useful to me? Then, curl up and die. Stop harassing me and let me be by myself.”
With that, Byakuya stood and headed off to put the book back.
“Byakuya-sama...!” Touko called out.
Byakuya chose to ignore her as he ventured further into the library. As he put the book back in its appropriate spot, he recalled what happened between him and Makoto.
📚🍀📚🍀
"Why...Why won't you look at me?" Makoto asked after a few moments of silence.
"Hm?" Byakuya eyed Makoto like he just said something stupid.
What is this idiot going on about, of course I’m looking at him. He may not realize it, but I don’t really see him as much of a pleb anymore, he thought to himself.
"Aren't I already doing that?" he asked.
Makoto’s eyes grew wide as he stared at him. He looked as if he wanted to say something more, but he didn’t. Byakuya peered at him, trying to decipher what was going on in his mind.
Was it a look of surprise? Or was it one of disappointment?
Just the fact that someone as simple as Makoto was so hard to read was just so damn annoying.
He decided not to dwell on the thought any longer.
"Now," Byakuya yanked his arm away, "if you’re done rambling about nonsensical things, I’ll resume my reading session and you can go do something else." he said before pulling away and walking off.
He turned into the other aisle and leaned against it as he heard Makoto sobbing.
📚🍀📚🍀
Byakuya bit his lip as Makoto’s sobs replayed in his mind.
He knew that his words came off as cold and very harsh. But, he was also very straightforward when he needed to be.
He thought that he was doing exactly that when he told Makoto that. He thought that Makoto would pick up on what he meant. But, it seems that it had the opposite effect.
He found himself biting his lip.
The last thing he wanted to do was make Makoto cry.
I thought he knew what I was trying to get at. I guess my words came off tougher than I thought, he thought to himself.
He let out an annoyed ‘tch’.
“Dammit.”
📚🍀📚🍀
Makoto listened to everyone converse with each other as they all stood in the gym.
They were all woken up by the usual morning announcement along with the monochromatic bear demanding them to all meet up in the gym after breakfast or else they would all face some sort of “punishment.”
“Hey, Naegi-kun...what do you think Monobear wants from us this time?” Aoi asked.
“I have no idea.” Makoto replied as Mondo let out a loud shout.
“Hurry up and get out here, you little shit! I’ll slug ya if you keep stalling!” he roared angrily, cracking his knuckles as he glowered at the empty podium.
“Now, now, take a chill pill! I hope you haven’t forgotten about what will happen to you if you use violence on the headmaster!” Monobear shouted as it jumped onto the podium.
“Eeeeeeeek, it’s back!” Yasuhiro shrieked.
“Oh hush it, Bob Marley wannabe!” Monobear snapped.
Yasuhiro could only gape at the bear in shock as Monobear cleared its throat.
“Now then, I have a very important announcement to make: it’s one of you bastard’s birthday today!” it shouted.
“It is?!” Sayaka exclaimed in surprise.
“Indeed, indeed! Today is Mister Byakuya Togami’s birthday!” Monobear declared, gesturing to the uninterested blond sitting on the bleachers.
“It’s Byakuya-sama’s birthday today?!” Touko exclaimed.
She began giggling excitedly as Byakuya released an annoyed sigh.
“I never said that you could announce my birthday to the whole world.” he bit out.
“Oh, relax! Having your fellow classmates know your birthday isn’t gonna kill ya!” Monobear said.
“Hold up a minute, just how in the world do you know his birthday and that it’s today?!” Aoi asked.
“Well duh, his birthday is listed in the student report section of your handbooks. And also, we have something called a calendar!” Monobear snapped, eyeing the students in annoyance.
“For real...?” Yasuhiro grumbled as he pulled out his handbook and began to flip through it.
Kyouko released a sigh.
“So? What’s the real reason for you to be calling us here?” she asked.
Makoto eyed Kyouko in confusion.
“The real reason...?” he wondered out loud as Monobear cleared its throat again.
“Okay, you got me. Actually, I have something to share with you all, particularly Mister Togami.” Monobear began.
“For me?” Byakuya questioned, eyeing the bear quizzically.
“Upupu, indeed.” Monobear’s eyes glowed mischievously. “You see, I was strolling through the library, minding my own goddamn business. I picked up a book, started flipping through it, and came across an envelope that was addressed to Togami.” it said.
Immediately, Makoto went pale. Kyouko eyed the lucky student out of the corner of her eye.
“Is he referring to what I think he’s referring to?” she whispered.
“I think so...” Makoto murmured out as Monobear cackled.
“I want to say who it’s from, but I think it would be even more thrilling for you to go check it out yourself~” Monobear singsonged.
Byakuya glowered at the bear.
“Don’t be ridiculous—“
“I’m sorry, I need to step out real quick!” Makoto shouted as he whirled around on his heel and made a dash for the door.
“Huh?! Just where does that little shit think he’s going?!” Mondo roared.
“Naegi-kun! Where are you going?!” Aoi shouted.
“Huh?! How dare he leave while I’m still talking!” Monobear stomped its foot. “That blasted lucky student!” it exclaimed.
As Makoto pushed the gym door open, he failed to see the look that spread itself across Byakuya’s face as he stumbled out and raced in the direction of the library.
📚🍀📚🍀
Makoto felt faint as he stumbled into the library.
He couldn’t believe this was happening to him.
“I have to get that letter...I can’t have Togami-kun read it!” he said to himself.
He began searching through each and every book in the library, hoping that he would come across the letter at some point.
A few minutes passed before he stopped flipping through a geometry textbook.
Wait...why am I trying so hard to retrieve a letter that says that I am going to get over him, he asked himself.
“Why am I...?” he muttered under his breath.
It’s not like it’s a love confession, so why am I panicking, he wondered to himself.
He briefly thought of putting the book back and heading out of the library like he didn’t just try to turn the library upside down for a measly letter, but he decided against it.
No, I can’t! I have to retrieve it, no matter what, he told himself.
He put the textbook back and he continued his search. He eventually found himself in the comic book section.
As he flipped through a comic book involving cyborgs, he heard a voice call out to him from behind.
"Looking for something?"
Makoto whirled around to see Byakuya holding an eerily familiar white envelope that had the blond’s name written in the center of it.
Makoto’s eyes grew wide.
That’s the letter, he thought to himself.
A look of horror spread across Makoto’s face as he spoke.
"That letter...” he trailed off.
“You know, I wasn’t going to pay this letter any mind, but as soon as that bear brought it up, you grew pale and dashed out of the gym. It intrigued me, so I decided to follow after you and find it myself. Turns out this was stuck in between the pages of a romance novel.” Byakuya explained.
Makoto grew even paler as Byakuya looked at the envelope.
“Just as I figured...this is a letter you wrote for me...” he murmured.
Fear bubbled up from within the lucky student as he spoke.
“That letter...I need it, so please give it to me...” he said as he tried to snatch it out of his hand.
However, Byakuya rose it above his head. This made Makoto frustrated.
"Please, give it to me, Togami-kun!” Makoto pleaded as he tried to grab for it.
However, he failed. Byakuya eyed Makoto curiously.
"This letter is addressed to me, though. I don’t see why I should give it to you.” Byakuya stated.
"Do I really need to tell you why you should give it to me?” Makoto asked.
"Well, seeing as you’re making such a fuss about it, then you might as well enlighten me." Byakuya replied.
Makoto thought about it for a split second before furiously shaking his head.
"I can’t do that, so please just give it to me!" he shouted as he tried grabbing for it once again. But, that just made the blond raise it higher.
"If you really want it, then you’re going to have to jump for it.” he said.
Makoto huffed our a frustrated sigh as he jumped for it. As his fingers grazed the envelope, Byakuya pulled it away and whirled around.
"You know, you've gotten me very curious. Seeing as you’re trying so hard to make sure I don’t open this envelope, it must either be very important or downright embarrassing." he proceeded to open the envelope. “Let’s find out, shall we?” he asked.
Makoto’s eyes widened in horror as he watched the envelope being opened.
"No!" Makoto tried to grab for it once more. “Please, give it back!" he begged.
"No." Byakuya replied as he took the letter out and he began to read it.
Togami-kun,
I highly doubt you’ll actually find this letter, but if you somehow do, then I would appreciate it if you could read it in its entirety.
So, I honestly don’t know how I should start with this, but I feel like I should state the obvious: I loved you. Even though you’re cold and rude and have a horrible personality, I still liked you. I figured I could live with this unrequited crush on you, but as the days passed, it grew harder for me. Then, when I asked you why you wouldn’t look at me and you said that you found my question stupid because you already were made me finally realize that if I continued to love you, I would get hurt in the end. You never looked at me as more than your errand boy. And the more that I think about it, the more I’ve come to realize that you’ll never see me that way ever.
I guess what I’m trying to say here is that I’m going to get over you, Togami-kun. I’ll get rid of my feelings for you and start over. It’ll be hard at first, but in the end, I think that this is for the best.
Togami-kun, please don’t be disgusted by these feelings that I used to harbor for you. As of now, they don’t exist anymore, so you have nothing to worry about. I’ll just go my way, you can go yours, and I’ll just forget that I even felt this way towards you.
I hope you are able to understand.
From,
Makoto Naegi
Byakuya scanned the letter with an unreadable look in his eyes. Makoto swallowed, his heart pounding against his rib cage. His palms grew clammy with sweat as he bit down hard on his bottom lip.
Oh, how he wanted nothing more than to have the ground swallow him whole.
He lowered his gaze to the floor as Byakuya spoke.
"What do you mean when you said that you loved me?" he asked.
Makoto flinched at the tone of Byakuya’s voice.
"Uh...” Makoto swallowed again. “Well...I think it’s exactly what it means. I did love you before.” he replied in a soft voice.
“What about now?”
“I don’t love you anymore.”
“Bullshit.”
Makoto blinked his eyes twice.
“Huh? What do you mean?” he asked.
“It’s exactly what it mean. That’s bullshit.” Byakuya replied.
“Why do you think that’s the case, Togami-kun?”
“One, because I can tell that’s the case and two, you didn’t look me in the eye when you said that just now.”
Makoto bit down on his lip harder, drawing blood as Byakuya continued.
“Look at me.”
Makoto hesitated, wondering if he should really do as he said. He heard Byakuya let out an annoyed ‘tch' as he strode over to him, placed his hands on his shoulders, and pushed Makoto against the bookshelf. Makoto’s head snapped up, staring up at the blond in surprise.
“Togami-kun—“ he didn’t get to say anything else as Byakuya’s lips covered his own in a kiss.
Makoto’s eyes widened.
Byakuya is kissing him.
His heart nearly exploded as Byakuya kissed him harder, urging for him to respond. Makoto blinked only for him to see that Byakuya was staring him down, a fire raging in his blue eyes that Makoto had never seen before. His gaze was so intense that it made Makoto shudder. He squeezed his eyes shut as he slowly kissed back. A few minutes passed before Byakuya pulled away.
Dazed by the sudden kiss, Makoto’s eyes slowly fluttered open. He blinked up at the blond as he spoke, the fire in his eyes still flickering.
"If there’s anything I hate more than annoying plebs, it’s being lied to. Don’t say that you don’t love me anymore when it’s obvious that you still do. Before you try and refute me, just know that I can see it in your eyes. You feel something for me still. Even though you say you’re trying to get over me, in the end, you can’t find it you to actually go through with it.” Byakuya explained.
Makoto narrowed his eyes at him.
“Don’t just assume things on your—“ the blond immediately cut him off.
“Also, if you’re going to confess your feelings to me, don’t you dare do it in past tense. I’ll begin losing hope.” Byakuya stated.
Makoto got ready to retort when Byakuya’s words replayed in his mind. This made him curious as to what he meant.
“You’ll begin losing hope? Why is that?” he asked.
“Well, that’s because...” Byakuya trailed off.
He then muttered something under his breath, causing Makoto to eye him curiously.
“What? I didn’t hear what you said.” Makoto said.
Byakuya glowered at him before pushing away and walking off.
“Wait! Togami-kun!” he began to run after him. “Please, tell me what you said!” he exclaimed.
“Do I really have to repeat myself?” Byakuya stopped and whirled around to look at him. “I also like you, dumbass!” he snapped.
Makoto blinked up in bewilderment, watching as Byakuya stared him down. Then, the blond’s words registered in his mind.
“Y-Y-You like me, too?!” he squeaked out, his cheeks immediately flushing a bright red.
“Is that not what I said?” Makoto noticed that the blond’s cheeks were the lightest shade of red as he pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. “What, did you assume that I liked Fukawa or something?” he asked.
“That is...” Makoto trailed off, not wanting to admit that Byakuya was right.
Byakuya sighed in exasperation.
“Just as I thought. Geez, you really are stupid.” he grumbled.
“Huh?!” Makoto gawked at him in shock. “I’m not stupid—“ he was cut off by Byakuya pulling him into his arms.
The blush spread to Makoto’s ears as Byakuya spoke.
“The only one I like is you, so stop making assumptions. Especially the one where you thought I was only looking at you as a mere errand boy.” he said.
“Huh?” Makoto rose his head. “You mean you have always seen me as more than that?” he asked.
“Yeah. But, I guess with the way I worded it, you ended up getting the wrong idea.” Byakuya explained.
“Oh...” Makoto pouted. “Then, you should’ve said it in a way that wouldn’t make me think like that! Be more straightforward!” he whined as he smacked Byakuya’s chest lightly.
“I’ll try.”
“No, you absolutely have to, not try to!”
“Okay, okay, I will.”
“And...especially since we’re now together...” Makoto twiddled with his thumbs. “We should be honest with one another... he mumbled.
Byakuya stared at Makoto for a couple of minutes before speaking.
“Okay, I’ll be more honest with you, starting now.” he said.
He pulled Makoto back in, leaning in towards his ear. Makoto’s face was red like a tomato, his heart pounding in his ears as the words Byakuya whispered to him played through his mind.
“I love you.”

Danganronpa 2 artbook - Byakuya Togami
Obvious Danganronpa 2 spoilers on this one. Avoid even reading the tags if you can help it.
Seiyuu’s comment: Akira Ishida
It’s an honor to reprise my role as Byakuya Togami. Togami is returning to a much more “super high school level” cast of characters, so despite my performance efforts to retain his overwhelmingly egotistical personality, I was worried he would be overshadowed by the rest of this colorful cast (laughs). Enjoy Danganronpa 2 for this ensemble of impactful characters.
Kodaka’s comment: The symbol of Danganronpa’s impact
The key concept for Togami’s name is, as mentioned for DR1, a simply grandiose name. After we got the okay to produce DR2 and decided to make a brand new cast, we thought that was the time for Togami to leave the stage for a while along with the rest of his cast, but since having a returning character makes the game look more like a sequel, we decided on his return. That said, reusing his design or just drawing him older would be lazy... so after testing many different curveballs, we settled on this current shape. The character design was focused on conveying the impact of how Danganronpa does sequels. This decision was obviously controversial both in the office and among the fans outside, but ultimately people mostly agreed that it gave him impactful and important role. By the way, all characters in DR2, including this version of Togami, have a lot of character info listed on their profiles, but DR2′s Togami doesn’t have a real birthday, and not only that, even their gender is unknown. Their real talent is the ability to copy everything except physique. I wanna see their copy of Celes or Asahina if we get the chance.
Komatsuzaki’s comment: Count on Togami to pull off a cool fat guy
The design concepts for them were “a plus-sized Togami” and “an agile fat guy”. They was born from the absurd order to draw a fat guy while preserving Togami’s cool factor. By Kodaka’s own admission, they ultimately turned out more cute than cool.

Talentswap-DR1 Kids with V3 Talents
So I came across a post made by @mythgirlimagines who gave some headcanons that featured the kids from the first game with talents from the V3 game. I really enjoyed the idea and I began to think of my own headcanons for each kid and how their lives would be different with their new talents. So with their permission, I was able to come up with this. I hope you like it!
Sayaka Maizono as the SHSL Adventurer
As a kid, she spent all her time at home since her dad was always working and her mom passed away.
She found comfort in watching TV programs that showcased different countries and cities and loved seeing the people having fun together.
Wanting to find happiness like those people, Sayaka began to secretly wander around her home city and partook in sight seeing and trying new foods.
She also practiced interacting with the people and asking them different questions.
After getting enough practice, she began traveling around different parts of Japan before making her way through the Asian countries followed by the rest of the globe.
She vlogs her travels by uploading pictures and videos of the food, fashion and festivals in each place she visits.
The popularity of her vlogs has resulted in her gaining contracts with multiple tourist companies who want her to visit their cities to boost tourism.
Mukuro Ikusaba as the SHSL Pianist
Mukuro doesn’t really care about playing the piano. She only took it up because her sister insisted that she do something useful with her life
She spent most of her freetime practicing the piano and would perform for hours on end to see how far she could go before exhausting herself.
She’s won multiple awards and critical acclaim for her performances but they mean nothing to her if they didn’t come from her sister.
When Junko decided to become SHSL Despair, Mukuro began to channel her talent to her sister’s instruction.
Her music can manipulate the emotional states of anyone listening to her and increase it based on the melodies she performs.
Ex. A somber tune can make people into sobbing messes while an aggressive song can make listeners become hostile and violent towards each other.
Junko would use her sister’s talent to either influence new followers or to dispose of unlucky victims.
She mainly wears a slim black dress when she performs on stage.
Leon Kuwata as the SHSL Tennis Player
Just like in canon, Leon doesn’t like his talent. Particularly the heavy training that’s involved.
He mainly uses his tennis player image to become a celebrity.
This involves staging photo sessions with him posing in his tennis uniform or performing cool moves for the camera.
He mainly performs solo and the few times that he partakes in a doubles match is if his partner can boost his image.
This has resulted in him getting into arguments with them because of his lazy nature.
He ended up in multiple flings with various fangirls which tarnished his image as a celebrity.
His wardrobe consists of a white polo shirt with orange stripes, shorts and a red sweatband.
Chihiro Fujisaki as the SHSL Maid/Butler
(As to avoid potential discourse, I’m going to gloss over their backstory and headcanon them as genderfluid)
They find cleaning and organizing rooms to be mentally relaxing.
They take pleasure knowing that a clean house or room will become much refreshing and comforting to their client(s).
Most people are surprised that someone as small and fragile like them is capable of doing multiple chores and duties in a single day.
They prefer to work behind the scenes or with as few people watching over them.
Chihiro often has difficulties when it comes to making public announcements to large groups.
Some days they dress up in maid uniforms while other days they dress up as a butler.
Their specialty when it comes to cooking is making perfect creme brulee.
Mondo Oowada as the SHSL Artist
As a professional artist, Mondo can make a variety of artworks.
His area of specialties include sculptures and murals.
Despite making tons of money with his artworks, he secretly dislikes the rich people who buy his pieces due to their snooty personalities.
He initially hated his talent because he was hoping to be good at something that was more manly or cooler.
His big brother was the reason for why he became an artist to begin with.
Having been Mondo’s main parental figure their whole lives, Daiya wanted to ensure that his brother would have a secure career that he could be proud of and that he wouldn’t have to risk his life for. Just like he does as a gang leader.
After his inevitable death, Mondo took his art career more seriously to honor his big brother.
He wears cargo pants with a white tank top and has a paint splattered bandanna around his neck.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru as the SHSL Aikido Master
He took up aikido believing it to be an ideal practice of mastering self control
He devotes most of his freetime to studying the different forms of aikido aswell as the religious aspects tied to the skill.
At his old school(s) he became popular for taking down various delinquents who would terrorize his defenseless classmates. But what really moved everyone was how Kiyotaka invited each delinquent to join him so that they can master self control and change their lives for the better.
He ended up becoming the president of a large club dedicated to aikido.
Despite his popularity, Kiyotaka is still very awkward at friend making as all he can discuss is his general studies and aikido.
All of his relations with his peers are purely professional.
Hifumi Yamada as the SHSL Anthropologist
He started out by watching foreign cartoons and dramas and wondered how different they were compared to the ones shown in Japan.
This led to him binge watching multiple foreign shows while taking notes and analyzing the cultural norms displayed in each show.
His hard work paid off when he landed a spot on a TV show where he showcased his research and the popularity for each show in their respective country.
He does most of his research in his hometown but sometimes he’ll travel to specific cities either to showcase new research or to analyze a TV show/movie production.
He dreams of being remembered as a hero who was able to connect every culture and bring world harmony.
He often reaches out to Sayaka in the hopes that they could do a travel collab together but she politely denies his requests using various reasons.
Celestia Ludenberg as the SHSL Inventor
She uses a steampunk lolita ensemble whenever she makes public appearances and speaks with a Victorian accent.
She’s able to maintain her composure when she’s in an environment with an exceptionally hot temperature.
Celestia takes pride in being able to take apart the most mundane of household appliances and rebuild them into something better and praiseworthy.
Several companies have already commissioned her to make service drones.
She’s willing to make any invention that’s requested provided that the client can afford her extravagant prices.
There’s rumors that she’s been secretly making inventions that can brainwash people and turn them into her obedient servants.
She’s openly expressed interest in studying Kyoko’s existence but the robot makes it clear that she doesn’t want to be involved.
Sakura Oogami as the SHSL Entomologist
While she underwent extreme training thanks to her family’s profession, she has caused conflict among them for refusing to continue the fighting legacy in favor of her true passion.
She’s earned the nickname “The Mountain Woman” on account of how she’s always spotted hanging out in the mountain range studying bug life.
Sakura earned publicity by researching every individual insect found in Japan and how they interact with one another in their ecosystem.
Sometimes she allows the more dangerous insects and arachnids to bite/sting her so she can develop an endurance towards their toxins.
She also does environmental activism by stopping companies from illegally destroying the forests.
In her spare time, she enjoys meditating in the middle of the woods or by waterfalls.
Aoi sometimes asks if Sakura could lend her some of her butterflies for her magic shows.
Junko Enoshima as the SHSL Supreme Leader
She’s a cult leader. Plain and simple.
Using her analytical talent, Junko can analyze any person who’s unfortunate enough to talk to her.
By lending her ears, she gives them the impression of a person who genuinely cares about them and their problems no matter how pathetic they may be.
Most of the people who are drawn to her are often poor unfortunate souls who have been hurt by society or loved ones.
Wanting to fight boredom, she used her initial members for manipulation games and mental torture to see how powerful her charismatic personality can be.
She uses her findings to establish herself as a prominent figure of the 21st century.
A figure that can guarantee dramatic change if her subjects are willing to follow her commands.
When she decides to become the SHSL Despair, she uses an alternate persona via Monokuma to broadcast messages of despair and hard truths to the listening audiences.
And to keep Hope’s Peak and the police from catching on about her plans, she makes it so that she runs an exclusive club for intellectual and high class individuals.
Makoto Naegi as the SHSL Astronaut
Despite being average, he wanted to show everyone that it’s possible to accomplish the extraordinary even if you’re ordinary.
He loved the idea of going to space and seeing the beauty of the stars and the Earth down below.
Ever since middle school, he’s been training his body so he can be prepared for space travel.
He’s studied different star systems but he has difficulties when it comes to mechanical engineering and repair.
The closest he’s been to space was traveling in ships that reach high enough for him to experience zero gravity.
Despite being the youngest member of the space program, all the staff members adore him for his bright personality and his eagerness when it comes to completing missions.
In his free time, he tries to learn English and Russian should he be assigned to work with astronauts of the US or Russia.
Kyoko Kirigiri as the SHSL Robot
Her creator was her grandfather Fuhito who wanted an heir for his engineering business.
Her design was modeled after his young granddaughter who had died alongside her mother.
Having familiarized herself with the ongoing grudge between Fuhito and Jin, Kyoko can’t help but wonder if her creation was born out of spite.
She’s willing to follow along with her grandfather’s wishes but she does question if her actions are because she was programmed to follow them or because she herself wants to do it.
She’s built with a titanium body armor that can endure any extreme forms of damage along with providing her with super strength.
Given the right resources, she can also hack any computer system and gain access to any information found in said system.
Jin had conflicting feelings about allowing Kyoko to enter Hope’s Peak due to her bringing up feelings of anguish for his lost daughter and needed to be pushed by his dad to accept her.
She prefers to stay in the background analyzing the actions and behaviors of her classmates but she will show no hesitation in using force to resolve potential conflicts.
Byakuya Togami as the SHSL Cosplayer
In this reality, he lost his chance of becoming the Togami Heir and was banished from the family.
He still wanted to make a name for himself and decided to pursue a career that no one in his family would cross paths with him in: cosplaying.
Initially, he was depressed for a month after losing his big chance and immersed himself in anime shows to drown out his depression.
In a way, he found inspiration by watching the protagonists who continued onward and decided to make new paths for themselves despite failing to achieve their initial dreams.
If he wanted to be like them, then he could try dressing like them.
He only watches anime that has an enriching fantasy setting or has historical themes
Using what was left of his money, he funded a public fashion show that displayed the elaborate costumes of famous anime characters.
He became a big hit and was given sponsorships to produce more cosplays.
He has a love/hate relationship with his talent. On one hand, he prides himself in being the best at cosplaying. But on the other, he hates it because it’s a reminder that he lost his right to be a Togami.
Touko Fukawa as the SHSL Detective
Having grown up reading mystery novels, Touko became familiar with the cliches and expected tropes found in each given mystery.
Before going freelance, she served as a secretary for a private detective.
When looking over his cases, she pointed out the familiar patterns for each case while explaining her reasonings behind her deductions. She ended up being right 9 times out of 10.
The PI decided to give her simple cases that involved family drama and cheating spouses to test and expand her knowledge.
Eventually she would be hired for more extreme cases involving drug rings and murder.
Because of her abusive childhood and upbringing, Touko still has Dissociative Identity Disorder and created Genocider Syo as a coping mechanism to protect her.
But rather than killing people like a cliche yandere, Syo shows up whenever Touko ends up cornered or captured by dangerous criminals.
While she has no idea what gloomy got herself into, Syo has no issue with thrashing the low lives who would threaten her existence.
This has often led to the criminals becoming seriously injured or even being killed as a result. When it comes to the latter, Syo takes special care to ensure that it looked like an accident or that the criminal died by someone else’s hand.
This unfortunately resulted in Touko having a bad reputation as a loose cannon detective.
The detective decided to cut ties with Touko to maintain his business but ensured to tell her that she has what it takes to be a true detective.
She still thinks badly of others and is quick to point out the negative qualities associated with that person.
Yasuhiro Hagakure as the SHSL Assassin
The reason he got into assassination was to own up for his mistakes.
When he was 13, his gambling habit led to him and his mother losing their house and having to live on the streets.
Wanting her son to learn responsibility, Hiroko called in an old friend who had ties with the local yakuza and requested that he give her son a job.
Unbeknownst to the two, the only job that the friend could offer was being an assassin. And wanting to make his mom proud of her boy, Yasuhiro accepted the job without telling Hiroko.
After years of brutal and life threatening training, Yasuhiro became the clan’s go-to hitman and was handsomely rewarded every time he successfully got rid of a clan enemy or someone who couldn’t pay their debts.
His preferences for killing involve drugging the victims with slow but lethal poisons or attacking them when they’re alone. His appearance requires him to be extra cunning as to avoid being detected.
Eventually he was caught by the authorities but was contacted by Hope’s Peak who learned about his unusual career.
He was given two choices: he could go to jail for his murder or he could attend HP so that his talent could be studied while also receiving the school’s protection. Even a moron like Yasuhiro knew what choice to take.
When he went to tell his mom the good news, he found that she disappeared without a trace. Some say that Hiroko left out of shame when she found out about her son’s crimes, others believe that she was kidnapped and killed by revenge driven enemies. Regardless of the rumors, Yasuhiro has a gut feeling that she’s still out there and he intends to find her to make things right.
He uses the SHSL Fortune Teller title to keep his assassin career a secret.
He still maintains his carefree and ditzy personality both because no one would ever expect him of being a professional killer and so that he can keep pushing forward in life without falling into complete despair.
His baggy clothing and dreadlocks make it easy for him to hide knives or bottles of poison.
Aoi Asahina as the SHSL Magician
Ever since she was a little girl, Aoi loved everything about magic.
She read different types of fairy tales and myths so she can learn more about it and use them for her shows.
When she first started, she would perform tricks for her brother Yuta and would ask for his input regarding each performance and how she could improve herself.
Her costume is based on the classic witches mixed with a magical girl theme. (Think along the lines of Little Witch Academia).
Her magic shows put alot of emphasis on spectacle and enchantment so the people watching could fall in love with the concept of magic.
When she has the time, she bakes her own special donuts and offers them to a certain number of lucky participants.
Despite her friends and family encouraging her to participate in competitions, Aoi doesn’t feel that it would be right to use her magic tricks to compete for publicity.
She wants her magic shows to be an inspirational thing that brings happiness and wonder to the people watching.
She enjoys performing for children and often performs at schools, hospitals and orphanages.
The trick she’s best at performing is the underwater escape challenge.

have you...have you seen the 10th anniversary outfits
I've seen it, and I'll only comment on the DR1 characters: ponytail Kyouko is a welcome change, and like, the dress is okay on her. Makoto's ensemble is very... standard, which is eh to me since I guess fits his charactoooooooooooooh YOU MEAN THE ONE WITH ALL THE STUDENTS THAT JUST CAME OUT I JUST SAW IT
Ok. Ok. DR1 characters still.
* They did Chihiro dirty what is she WEARING
* Byakuya looks like a Batman villain, so 'corny and horrendous'.
* Makoto in comparison looks better, I'm digging the bowtie.
* Yesss Touko was done justice her dress is GORGEOUS wait I hope it's not sheer :/
* SAYAKA POG SHE'S BEAUTIFUL 10/10 PONYTAIL. THE DRESS. THE FLOWERS.
* Leon: ew, sorry.
* Celeste is going for over-the-top and unique and I love it SO much. Spiked headdress. What a show-stopper.
* SAKURA MA'AM YOUR ODANGO LOOKS IMMACULATE, LOVE A PRIM & PROPER QUEEN and the traditional Japanese wear suits her well.
* Junko is eh, I feel like she could go for something more elaborate or striking. Unicolor red? Really?
* Sorry Yasuhiro I can't see enough of your 'fit :(
* BLUSHY MONDO OMG he said he didn't like being seen in a work/dress suit in his FTE so he's wearing traditional clothing. I'm glad they remembered that. He looks great in it.
* No comment for Kiyotaka. It's a standard three-piece.
* Hifumi honestly is well-suited. He would wear a hat like that and go for pinstripes.
* Aoi... what did they do to you AAAAAAAH even besides the dress WHY YELLOW??? WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA I'M SO SORRY BABY
* Mukuro is just... deleted from the class (I know it's because Mukuro doesn't have a sprite of herself which is sad.)
Ok I lied, here's one bonus comment:
* Nagito is honestly wearing a very stylish suit. The ponytail makes it better.

May I ask both mods, who is your least favourite from each of the three main games and why?
Sure thing! I’ll specify now that I don’t hate any character but I’m not a big fan of these ones. Also, I’m sorry for the length. Most of these characters I wanted to love so I guess I ended up expressing that more than anything.
Tumblr media
From dr1 my least favorite is Sayaka Maizono. Funny thing is I wanted to love Sayaka so so bad. I saw that she was an idol and was in love immediately. However, even if I do love idols I’m picky about them. Yes, I do love Love Live, Idolm@ster, I-chu, Yumeiro Cast, and Ensemble Stars but I do not like Sayaka. My reasoning for loving idols more than life itself is how they’re so selfless and passionate and hardworking. Sayaka did have her dreams and mentioned wanting to make people smile but she also seemed so selfish and uncaring. I try to think that maybe I’d like her if it were in different circumstances but no matter what content I see that involves her I just can’t. By planning to betray Makoto she betrayed my image of an Idol. A big dreamer with a big heart to go along. Instead, she just came off as plain (for an idol), too codependent on Makoto, and selfish. I don’t write her that way since I know she could be kind but in the Killing Games, it definitely did not show.
As for my least favorite in dr2, I love all the characters really but Mahiru Koizumi is just kind of too strong for me? I know other people like the big sister character type and I’ve been known to like it on occasion but Mahiru was another let down for me. I love, no adore her design. It’s adorable and I love to do photography as well but she just seems so irritable where it’s not very charming to me. I don’t have much else to say in her case but I also do wish that she had more to her. I wanted to like her but she just didn’t do much. Plus, I only really liked her for her interactions with Hiyoko so I guess I just wish she could have stood out on her own more.
For drv3, this ones tricky. I don’t think I necessarily dislike any character but I don’t like Tsumugi Shirogane fully? Her Love Hotel event creeps me out and with her having the same voice as Sayaka, I couldn’t trust her. As soon as Mod Kokichi and I started playing I always accused her of murder and being the mastermind even if nothing really pointed to her. It just felt too suspicious to me. I did end up enjoying her as a character far more than Sayaka and Mahiru but she’s definitely not my best girl, or character for that matter.
But again, I don’t hate these characters even if I was dissapointed with them. I’d love it if you guys could help me enjoy them more even too because I don’t want to dislike anyone in the series if I could help it. Anyways, thanks so much for asking us such an interesting question. I didn’t think anyone would ever ask what our least favorite characters were.

Answerin’ a Two-Parter Anon Ask
Sorry this took me like a week to answer, anon. I struggle to sit my lazy ass down and actually... WRITE things from time to time, haha. Gotta put these under a Read more due to major V3 spoilers being mentioned as well. There’s ya warning!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ヘルイエー, I basically 100% agree with all the points you mentioned here, anon! Warning for badly-worded rambling of my own thoughts and opinions related to these points, most likely.
I think the big reason why Hinata, and Komaru as well, work as the ‘normal insecure person learning to be confident in their self and skills’ type of protagonist is because they aren’t treated by their respective games’ narrative as THE most important character to have ever existed, unlike with Naegi, Komaeda and Saihara. And even then I don’t think Naegi really gets that treatment in DR1 until the last chapter, and even then it’s very downplayed in comparison to how the rest of the series deifies his every action, which is where more of my issue with Naegi as a character lies.
Both Hinata and Komaru are regularly compared to other characters during their respective games as a way to showcase how plain, boring and useless they are in the grand scheme of things in comparison, which is what makes their eventual character arc conclusions of accepting themselves for who they are and that defining themselves by their own merits/skills, no matter how others label them and deride them for being ‘that untalented reserve course student/Makoto Naegi’s little untalented sister’, so rewarding in the first place. It’s why we the audience are supposed to be rooting for them, to break free of that shadow over their lives. Hinata is more than what Komaeda/Junko think of him, Komaru is more than just what Monaca/Fukawa sees her as, etc. It’s one reason why I really like both of their characters so much. Best protags by far.
As an ensemble series, I don’t think one character should ever end up overshadowing the entire cast in each game, it’s objectively bad writing IMO, and this is (one of many reasons) why I dislike Komaeda, DR3 Naegi and Saihara so much. They basically warp their entire respective canons to focus purely on their suffering/arcs. You can never fucking escape from them and it gets tiring super fast. Especially with Saihara in V3, with making Akamatsu’s entire role be setting him off on his character arc by dying to make room for him, and the entire cast endlessly praising him for his detective skills and overcoming his insecurities throughout the whole game. I could go on.
And yeah, that sounds pretty expected from arguing with Saihara stans anon, haha. I’ve had my fair share of these convos as well. It’s a mindset that concerns me as well, since not only would it make for incredibly boring stories if EVERY protagonist had to be this overrused archetype, but it ties into my larger issue with how DR feels like it’s never going to escape this formula because it just sells so damn well with the hugely uncritical fandom. Especially since the formula/tropes are so perfectly suited to the fujoshis that comprise the majority of the Japanese fandom... sigh. I’ve given up entirely on expecting anything new from this series anymore. Even with V3′s ending. I predict huge backtracking from Kodaka on that front. Watch this space!
But yeah, one reason I was looking forward to Akamatsu so much was that she was a different type of protagonist, who WAS more secure in her own skills/self, and confident in comparison to the milquetoasts before her, whilst still having her own issues - the fact she can barely trust anyone no matter how much she talks about becoming friends, and how overly-focused and blind she is to her own sense of justice, no matter how badly it can go wrong, etc. It’s something new and refreshing, and was the perfect set-up to have a protagonist arc about her ‘falling from grace’, so to speak. IDK. Too adventurous and unique for DR clearly, plus god forbid a girl be the centre of a story ever, so she had to die and make way for the blandest fucking dude in the universe. I’m still mad. Forever mad.
Anyways, always feel free to rant in my inbox about this awful series, anon(s). Don’t even worry about it, I always enjoy reading these kinds of asks! Cuz lord knows I can rant for days on end about it, haha.

Can I have a dr1 matchup please? I'm male, pansexual, 5'11, with messy black hair, and I like wearing black clothes and gothic jewelry. I'm an introvert and socially awkward, so at times I might appear rude, cold, or intimidating to cover that up. I love reading, especially mystery novels. I have a fondness for the innocent things in life, like sweets and fluffy animals. I have a closet fascination with the occult, supernatural, and paranormal. And I have an unhealthy amount of sarcasm.

I-I hope you like it, dear, sweet anon! ~ Mod Iruma
Platonic match up: I can see you being really good friends with… Yasuhiro Hagakure!
This dude is just so chill, and you find it easy to relax and be yourself around him right off the bat
You spend a lot of time just lying in the grass and cloud-gazing together, though sometimes you bring a book to read
Of course, he claims that he hates the occult, but you’re fascinated by his abilities as the Ultimate Clairvoyant all the same
Your love for fluffy animals doesn’t go unappreciated; he’s a big animal lover himself!
One day you stumble across a small nest with a few newly-hatched chicks. The mother is nearby and… not moving. But not to worry! You two take good care of them together!
It kind of becomes your little project, and you almost feel like you’ve adopted children together. Yasuhiro is totally the mother
He’s surprisingly knowledgeable about birds, and you make a good team!
Romantic match up: I think you would have good chemistry with… Celestia Ludenberg!
You’re exactly her type, and you make quite the cute couple with your Gothic ensembles!
She’s highly perceptive, and she grasps all too quickly what makes you tick
Of course, she is completely unfazed by any coldness or rudeness that you exhibit – she sees right through you, and is always aware of your true feelings!
You spend your evenings reading together by the fireplace, occasionally brushing hands or idly running your fingers down her arm, hers always on your thigh
She loves it when you brush her hair, and sometimes you spend hours doing just that while she reads to you or tells you about her day
She enjoys toying with you a little, trying to make you flustered
She’ll do things like pick up a piece of your favourite candy and have you open your mouth before slipping it delicately between your parted lips
But you can make her blush, too!
She’s light as a feather, and when you sweep her off her feet, she actually stutters
She likes getting you little gifts that you can wear, so that she’s always with you, like small pieces of jewellery
She also buys you a fluffy white kitten for your birthday :3
And only you are allowed to call her Taeko.

What do you think about Tsumugi's character? Her plainnes makes sense in-universe, but as an overall character, I find her rather boring.
Haha, I actually really love Tsumugi. She’s my favorite femalendrv3 character, and I’ve written lots of meta detailing why I think she’s afantastic antagonist. She’s “plain” and “boring,” but she weaponizes thosethings so deliberately that I can’t help but find her fascinating.
Not only that, but she’s such a clear subversion of previousDR character tropes: on the surface, she’s nice and polite and kind to justabout everyone in the group, if a little bit sarcastic with some of her otakucomments, but it’s all so fake. Tsumugi’s comments about “working together witheveryone” and “cooperating to end the killing game” all parrot some of the samecomments from survivors in both dr1 and sdr2, but they ring entirely hollow.
Unlike either the dr1 or the sdr2 survivors, Tsumugi doesn’tsay these things out of any real desire to get closer to her classmates or toput an end to the killing game. If anything, she thinks she’s entirely separatefrom them. She doesn’t actually think of herself as “one of her classmates”—shethinks of herself as an observer, someone entirely unconnected from them.Because she thinks of the entire killing game as just a show, just a “work offiction,” what happens to the “fictional characters” in that show is none ofher concern.
As she points out to Saihara and the others during theChapter 6 trial, when you watch a show on TV and something bad happens to theother characters, normally you don’t really care. Maybe you’ll go “oh no, lookout!”, but you don’t expect it to really change anything and you definitely don’texpect the characters to listen to you. Because ultimately, it’s just “fiction.”Fiction is, from Tsumugi’s perspective, meant for consumption andentertainment; it doesn’t really matter, as far as she’s concerned. So she couldreally care less about people whose entire lives and existences she considers “fictional.”
It’s so easy to see this mindset of hers in hindsight, too. Ona first playthrough, Tsumugi seems polite enough, a little on the outskirts ofeverything but not particularly sketchy or suspicious until the later chapterswhen it becomes evident that the ringleader has to be one of the remainingpeople (and even then, if you fall into the trap of thinking that Junko is themastermind again, then it’s easy enough for Tsumugi to fly right under theradar). But on a second playthrough, it’s so obvious how little she cares abouteveryone else.
She makes absolutely no efforts to make real or genuineconnections with the other characters, even when it would be easy for her to doso. She’s very, very good at what she does, because she remains on theoutskirts of everything without looking like she’s trying to do so. Unlikeloners like Maki or Hoshi, or even Ouma, who are all pretty transparent abouttrying to drive people away, Tsumugi acts like she wants to be friends with everyonewhile simultaneously telling them basically nothing about herself.
In fact, it’s impossible to learn almost anything about herat all in-game, other than the fact that she’s a huge otaku and she reallyloves cosplay. Even her FTEs don’t reveal much about her; it’s easy to misssome of the most beautiful bits of foreshadowing in them unless you’ve alreadyplayed the game once. Really, she’s just downright devious in how good she isat acting sweet and caring when in reality she doesn’t care one bit about therest of her classmates. She never comes across as hostile or antagonistic, andit would be hard to call her “anti-social,” considering she doesn’t rejectpeople’s efforts to hang out with her. It’s just that she never really makesthose efforts herself.
Tsumugi is, at her core, “hollow.” She’s extremely interestingto me because she really does consider herself someone who cast aside her ownsense of self in order to “become” anyone and anything she wants. She’s a blankslate, someone who can become a self-proclaimed “perfect imitation” of anythingfictional by having no identity of her own. Her chameleon-like behavior isfascinating, and it sets her apart from someone like Junko, who for all shetries to lay low or go under cover, is ultimately incapable of doing the same.
Junko is flashy. The spotlight follows her wherever she goes, because she’s a star and she knowsit. She’s more like a force of nature itself, impossible to ignore, nearly infalliblein how convincing and persuasive she is. But Tsumugi isn’t. Tsumugi doesn’thave Junko’s SHSL Analysis, and is therefore much more fallible. She’s human, and she makes very human mistakes and errors; she can’t predict the situationsthat unfold around her so much as she can take advantage of them and try torewrite them to her advantage.
Interestingly enough, while she doesn’t care about actuallyparticipating in the killing game per se and considers herself outside it all,Tsumugi does care about fiction itself—otherwise she wouldn’t be able to cosplaythe way she does. It’s precisely because she believes fiction is completelyseparate from reality and such a perfect means of escape that she loves it somuch, and it’s why she’s capable of making her “perfect imitations.”
Her imitations are perfect likenesses in the truest sense ofthe word, down to not only the appearance and voices of the characters buttheir mindsets as well. In that sense, she really does love each and everysingle one of the characters she cosplays as, because she can bring herself tounderstand them perfectly. It’samazing just how dedicated she is to her role, playing the villain because shewants to, because she wants the role of “evil ringleader” and wants to see hope“triumph over” despair the way it has again and again in the DR franchise.
All of these things serve to make her an extremelyinteresting character, at least in my opinion. Tsumugi certainly is boring, butthat boring aspect of her is so intentional and deliberately used as a façade thatI adore it. The way she avoids letting people in because she honestly believesthere’s no “real her” to get to know is crafty and sly, and it’s so, sointeresting how she really does consider “Shirogane Tsumugi” yet anothercharacter in her ensemble.
I love her, really, and I’m sad that she ranked last placein both the Japanese popularity poll and the reddit poll as well. She’s aterrible person, of course, but that’s to be expected, since she’s the mainantagonist. I love Junko as well, and I feel that it’s futile to try andcompare “which is better” between the two of them; they’re pretty much applesto oranges, and part of Tsumugi’s whole appeal is the fact that she’s anincredibly smart, well-done, likable antagonist who is not Junko.
I hope people come to appreciate her character more when thelocalization launches in English. The Chapter 6 trial was incredible and it’swhere she truly gets to shine, but I think there’s a lot to admire aboutTsumugi even in the earlier chapters on a reread. There’s so muchforeshadowing, and it’s so enjoyable to see the ways she hides herself in plainsight. Really, she’s just super fun all around in how awful she is.
Thanks for asking, anon! I hope I could answer yourquestion!

Scare Me Chapter 9
Outlast 2 Demo
Today was the last game Naegi will play and it was Hagakure’s turn to make him play a game that will make the young teenager scream. And of course, no one is expecting the Clairvoyant to win. Mostly because he predicted that he will.
“But what game can I make him play? I don't’ know many horror ones.” Sighed the Clairvoyant as he ate his breakfast with his classmates, then his eyes suddenly lit up “I know! But first I need to ask!”
“Ask who?” Leon wondered.
But before the older classmate could answer he jumped out of his seat and ran towards Naegi who just entered the cafeteria with Kirigiri.
“Naegichi! Have you played Outlast?” He asked.
“Y-Yes, with Kirigiri-san. A very good game.”
“Did you play the second?”
“The demo? No, I remember that it isn't public yet, I think.” The ahoge boy answered.
“Perfect! Found the game to make you play! See ya later!” Exclaimed joyfully Hagakure before leaving them.
“Well away goes the surprise for this afternoon.” Naegi laughed awkwardly.
“So, the demo is now public? I didn’t know that.” said Naegi as he sat in front of the screen.
“Yeah, it got released a few weeks ago! It’s super scary!” exclaimed Hagakure, “Wait, you didn’t watch a let’s play about it, right?” his tone worried.
“Nah, don’t worry. I didn’t want to be spoiled. Ooooh! I’m so excited!” he smiled.
Then he pressed start, the story was about a couple of investigator: Blake and Lynn Langermann who wants to uncover the mystery of a certain Jane Doe, a woman who was found on the side of the road, pregnant of eight months. They were heading to the place in a chopper but suddenly they had an accident and got separated. Blake fell down a hill without any grave injuries. Naegi will control Blake throughout the game. He grabbed the camcorder and the game began.
“Wow! The graphics are amazing!!” Exclaimed the brunette as he looked around him.
He walked down the hill looking for his partner and reached some sort of small abandoned settlement with empty shacks. He entered inside a house and when he tried to open a locked door. Bangs were suddenly heard from the other side, making Naegi jump and Hagakure scream. Besides that, he found batteries and a dead body in this house.
When he walked out and looked around with his night vision, something made him jump and run a chill down his spine: there was people with glaring eyes staring back at him before backing up into the darkness. Hagakure noticed this and was already hiding behind the smaller classmate.
As he walked down the path a female scream was heard and voices too.
-“Oh my God… Lynn?!”- Exclaimed Blake in the game.
“Oh crap.”
Naegi kept going until he found a house blocking his way, the doors were locked but the instructions told him to enter by the window. But when he opened it, a crow suddenly flew away from inside the house, making both students jump and only one scream for his life.
Naegi laughed at how well written the jumpscare and spooks were, he walked through the house and reached the beginning of a new area, some sort of place labeled: ‘Satanas Inimical Dei’ (Satan, enemy of God).
“Well this looks inviting. Let’s go inside!” Smiled the Luckster as he walked down the stairs of the place.
“Do we have to?” Whined the Clairvoyant.
Naegi nodded before reaching some room with satanic ritual artifacts, already rising the chills on their spines. But what came next in the room was worse, was fucked up: there was a pit full of children’s corpses. The room was illuminated by moonlight, escaping through a cross-like opening on the ceiling, showing that the bodies were stacked in such way to represent the aforementioned symbol. The exit of this room was at the other side of the pit.
The ahoge teen gulped as he started walking on the corpses. The noises it made… made them understand that the bodies were burnt.
“Oh my God! It sounds like we’re walking on chips!” Exclaimed Hagakure in disgust.
“No! Shut up! Don’t say that!” Naegi said angrily, “but seriously, I forgot how messed up was the Outlast games!”
He finally reached the other side of the room that lead to a stairs going up and out of the place. He reached some sort of small park with a rocking horse near a well. A girl voice was heard, echoing all around them until it source went from everywhere to down the well.
Hagakure was whispering not to do it but too late: Naegi was already inspecting the well. Suddenly some tongue-like organ emerged from the darkness and wrapped itself around his neck before pulling him down into the well. And when the tongue released him, he was inside of a vent. Confusion spread on the Ultimates.
“What the hell happened?” asked Hagakure.
“I don’t know… well let’s keep going! I’m loving this!” Naegi smiled as he started to crawl.
Creepy voices were heard during the crawling through the vent, making the Clairvoyant whine every time. Suddenly bangs echoed inside the vent as if something was hitting it. And finally the part where Naegi was fell and landed inside what looked like a classroom. Naegi looked around and when he turned his head towards the door, a dark silhouette with 6 arms disappeared.
“WHAT WAS THAT?!” Hagakure screeched, shaking Naegi’s chair.
“I don’t know. But let’s find out!”
“Nooo… I don’t wanna!”
“But I thought you played the game already.”
“I just watched a gameplay and stopped watching at the crow jumpscare.” Admitted the Clairvoyant, “but I still don't wanna!”
But again, too late. Naegi opened the door and entered the dark hallway behind it. He used his night vision to see that they were indeed in a school. There was lockers all along the corridor. He walked down the hallway and after a sinister laugh, preceded by a girl’s whispering, he found one of the lockers open. It seems it belongs to a student named Jessica. There was a music box inside the locker and Naegi grabbed it before starting to play it.
“WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!? This is like THE thing not to do if you don’t want to meet a ghost!”
“But I kinda want to meet the ghost.” grinned the Luckster as he kept playing and ended up putting back the music box inside the locker.
But when he turned around the dark figure he saw earlier jumped at him and disappeared, making both Ultimates jump. Naegi started to run as he thought he was chased but each time he turned his head the dark figure was there a split second, running towards him and disappearing. Then suddenly the lockers were clacking one by one like in a paranormal movie. Naegi hid inside one of them after five more shadows figures appearances. But this locker also opened wide before closing back on him.
“Wow, Naegichi, are you crying?” asked Hagakure who was pale from fright.
“Uh?” he touched his cheek and indeed there was a tear that rolled down his cheek, “Wow! That means I am veeery terrified, it’s been a very long time since I play a game that made me tear up like that.” he grinned before everything stopped.
He got out and looked around, the dark figure was nowhere to be seen. He walked around, no noise, nothing. But when he reached the end of the hallway, he heard movement behind him. He turned.
And the monster’s face appeared on screen, grabbing Naegi and throwing him to the other side of the hallway.
“AAAAAAYY!” screeched Hagakure.
“Wooow!!” screamed Naegi.
“You screamed!”
“Hahaha! Yes I did!” laughed the Luckster.
“I WON!” exclaimed the Clairvoyant, “You can stop now.”
“Hell no! This game is amazing, I’m playing this!” Naegi frowned with a smile.
“Well I’m going to tell everyone I won!”
“Oh! Maybe you can invite them in so we can finish this game together?”
Hagakure got out of the room with a big smile as he told his classmates that he won. Almost all of them had big eyes of surprise, not believing him. Naegi shouted that it was true, he did get scared and let out a scream. Then the Luckster asked them to join him.
The only ones who refused were Taka because he had to go back into patrolling the halls, Fukawa just said that she’ll wait outside after Hagakure said that it was a pretty gory game, Celeste because she wasn’t interested and Yamada because the gambler asked him to prepare her a Royal Tea.
Togami only accepted because he was fuming of how someone like Hagakure could beat him at something as simple as to scare Naegi with a stupid game, he was also curious of what kind of game the Luckster was afraid of, just for reference. Junko and Kirigiri also were intrigued about the game.
So everyone who wanted to see the game entered and placed themselves around Naegi’s chair. The ahoge boy laughed and resumed the game after a brief summary of what have happened until now.
He looked around the locker only to find that the one with the music box became some sort of passageway through the wall. He walked past it and reached another area of the school. As he took some batteries laying on a table, a little girl ran past him, down the hall next to the room he was in. She was screaming and Blake called out Jessica’s name, the name of the little girl.
Naegi went to the hallway but at the end of the hall was Jessica’s body, hanged below what seems to be a black haze.
“Shiit…” whispered Leon and Hagakure when they saw the body.
Naegi walked down the hallway towards them and a door slammed shut on his left in a very loud clap, making everyone jump. But when the player was halfway near Jessica’s body, the same tongue-organ emerged from the black haze and snatched the body away.
“Wow! What was that?” exclaimed Asahina in a frightened tone.
“The monster that brought me in this school…”
“Isn’t it a bit weird to see magic and monsters in an Outlast game?” asked Kirigiri to the Luckster.
“Well, remember? There was the Walrider who was some kind of a ghost-demon.” answered Naegi.
“True.”
The double door at the end of the hallway were locked but the one near the black haze on the ceiling wasn’t so he opened it up, and the whole scenery changed: he was now inside a room with a flickering light, on the bed was a dismembered corpse with it guts out and blood everywhere. A man jumped out of nowhere and pulled Naegi inside the room, yelling words at him before pushing him out. But he didn’t fall on the school’s hallway, he fell down stairs of an old shack. There was corpses everywhere and blood drawn crosses on every walls.
“WHAT THE FUCK?!” screeched most of the students confused and afraid.
Naegi stood up and saw that the man that pushed him was walking down the stairs, armed with a sickle and singing a prayer.
“Ruun!!” screamed Sayaka, grabbing and shaking Naegi’s chair.
The ahoge boy obliged as he run out of the house, the man still following him, and entered a cornfield but another enemy appeared and had a flashlight, pointed at Naegi.
“Into the cornfield!” commanded Junko, excited by the screams of fright of her classmates, would be just a tad more satisfying if Naegi or Kirigiri joined them too.
But Naegi did as she said anyway, he ran into the cornfield, activating the night vision because of the lack of light around him. Steps were heard all around him and a dark prayer was broadcasted around the field too. The stress of the moment was at it maximum. Very exciting.
-”God rejoices in the spilling of wicked blood”- was all they managed to understand with all the noise happening at once.
Naegi had everyone telling him what to do next but all were different. He decided to go out of the field but only to be noticed by one of the man who started to run after him, earning more screams from the students while he smiled. He found a fence and jumped over it. Another man with a flashlight turned to him and yelled. There was only one way to go and Naegi took it.
He ran down a street full of blinding light and men yelling at him, all armed with farmer tools. All his friends screaming to him to run. He then fell down a hill and Blake lost his glasses. When he retrieves it, a shadow female figure intercepts him and threw him on his back.
“WHO THE FUCK IS THAT?!” screamed Mondo.
The figure was armed with a pickaxe, she lifted the weapon and struck Naegi’s character’s genitals, earning a loud moan of pain from the boys. Then the figure pulled, ripping everything between the legs, blood oozing out everywhere, this time earning screams from all the boys as they tightened their tights together, only Leon put his hands down to  protect himself. Then the figure hit Blake in the face with the now bloody pickaxe and the demo ended here, leaving everyone silent.
“Well this was amazing! I can’t wait to play the full game!” exclaimed Naegi in excitement.
The last challenge was over, but the class still had one last surprise for the Ultimate Luckster. They even managed to get Michael Hyde, the Ultimate Hunter and the Ultimate Special effect makeup artist to help them for their big surprise.
It sure was hard to make Taka and the Headmaster allow them to do the surprise, but it’s for strengthening the bonds with their classmate. Everything will be fine.
Naegi is going to scream his lungs out.
