Mod's Crush Competition Round 1

Hey guys! Based on the poll I sent out, it looks like some of you wanted to see what kind of fictional crushes I've had and of course I'm more than happy to oblige...

These are all crushes I've had through my lifetime so not all of them are current. Some of them I can explain and others make me question my life choices. They're also all male because I'm only attracted to men. (Maybe next time I'll do a tournament with your guys' crushes)

I tried to limit it to 3 characters per franchise but Yugioh ended up with 5 because there are so many series and I have seen all of them (It's been a very important fandom in my life). I also tried my best to not overrun it with anime. I admit my number of fictional crushes spiked when I started watching anime though. They know how to make them pretty.

Anyways, let's take a look at our bracket:

I am already dreading some of these matchups. For the first round, I am going to split the polls between 2 days. The first half will go up on Tuesday, September 26. The second half will go up on Thursday, September 28. All polls will last a week.

Once upon a time, magical folk wandered most of the world unimpeded, living alongside humans in relative balance from the shadows. This all changed with the sudden resurgence of the Hunters of Nohebi and Shiratorizawa who banded together and quickly overtook Japan, determined to finally wipe out any and all remaining magical beings after centuries of having failed to do so.

Nearly two hundred years have passed since then and the stirrings of a new, potential rebellion to do away with the Hunters has begun to circulate. Kuroo Tetsurou somehow finds himself pulled into the heart of the conflict when he rescues Sawamura Daichi from certain death, leading them both down a path he could never have predicted.

Chapter [003] Rescue Mission

Sunlight trickled down the covers and up the hall as his scent lingered across the king size mattress. You reach over where he once rested to feel emptiness. Last night was feverish, to say the least, but your head wasn't aching with an adrenaline high anymore. Sliding your legs off the side of the bed you don his hoodie he left behind.

Towards the cracked door you peek your head out looking around before pressing onwards. Turning the corner to the living room, a faint slam from the front door startles you.

"Tetsurou?" You ask softly.

He removes his jacket and puts it on the nearby coat rack. His gaze lands on you smiling slightly while he throws his house keys aside.

"It's been a while since you've worn my jersey Shortcake."

Kuroo places a take out bag on the glass kitchen table.

The red fabric drapes your figure just as it did years ago. Your stomach butterflies make a comeback. "Where were you?"

"I figured you'd be up by now so I went out and brought home some breakfast." He deeply muttered. "You go freshen up, I've got it from here."

You nod leaving to do as told. Like deja vu almost. Years ago you wore his jersey to his games and as makeshift pajamas when you'd sleep overnight. Just yesterday you locked eyes with him in his high school gym, your Polaroid inches off the ground when he caught it from breaking to pieces.

So many summers, so little time. Back in his room you look for your clothes from last night. To your delight they're washed and still warm from the dryer. Your undergarments there as well. Back in the kitchen Kuroo unwinds trying to stifle his excitement.

"So, what's for breakfast?"

He slides you a plate , cheesy fluffy scrambled eggs, bacon, and sliced avocado packed tightly in a brioche bun and large hash browns sit beside it.

"And before you ask, yes I got yah some coffee."

He puts an iced coffee next to your plate with some napkins. Even though last night didn't go as planned, he still managed to make up for it just as he said. Still, he hasn't explained how and why the authorities were involved. But you'd rather not say anything. You're sure he'll come around and explain himself.

You take a sip of your coffee, eating your breakfast as Kuroo settles down beside you. Him eating a ham and cheese variation of your order minus the avocado slices. He turns on some music from his home stereo, morning jazz playing softly throughout the penthouse.

Taking your last few bites you dispose of your plate in the sink, drinking what little coffee you have left. Your phone's missed call list was flooded with Daize's caller ID. Dialing her back, she picks up quickly.

"Thank God y/n you made me worried sick. Why haven't you been answering?"

Kuroo looks over, you mouth out who was on the other line.

"I'm really sorry Daidai. I was exhausted and fell asleep as soon as I got back safely. Don't worry, I'm fine. Kuroo made sure of that."

Daize sighs deeply. Her worried tone shifted slightly. You regret not calling her sooner.

"Great. Let me know when you're on your way home. Okay?"

"I will. I promise. I love you Daidai, bye."

You say hanging up.

Kuroo washes your shared dishes. His dark dragon tattoo spiraled down from his right shoulder to his wrist. A small cross tattoo on his neck as well.

Even his lip and eyebrow piercing are where you saw them last.

"I'll get you home Shortcake."

His blood red Nissan Veilside 350Z swerved out the parking garage. Slightly cloudy skies overhead as you reach for the stereo. You try turning the dial to the radio station you both used to listen to as teens. Trust me by Yuya Matsushita.

The familiar tune hit your ear as he started humming along. You smiled nodding along singing the words without missing a beat. Kuroo bobbing his head at your voice. Akihabara got closer in the side view mirror where you sat, the window's cracked for air circulation.

Kuroo briefly checked his phone, you didn't pay much attention looking around at anime characters from your favorite shows displayed in store windows and fashion boutiques scattered about. It wasn't until your eyes drifted close when everything faded to black.

Kuroo parks the car in the driveway of your home. You were slumped over, your head resting against the window. He smiled, gently shaking you awake.

"Shortcake we're here."

You mumble rubbing your eyes. You went to unbuckle your seat belt when he leans over, his face inches from yours.

"Let me get that for yah." Your seat belt is released as you open the door.

You both walk to your door when another car pulls up, it's Oikawa's. He steps out, a worrisome look of annoyance creasing his features.

"Bro my little mechanic is in deep shit right now we've gotta go."

"Daize? Is she okay? What happened? " You ask, jogging towards him.

"I'll explain on the way but she's running out of time."

You reach for the passenger car door when Kuroo snatches your wrist. "What gives Tetsurou?"

"I don't want what happened last night to happen again. You stay here until we get back."

You take your wrist back. "Stay here my ass I'm going with you."

"She'll be fine Kuroo. We need to hurry."

Kuroo narrows his eyes, blowing out a puff of air. "Fine. Get in."
