100/100 here I am — a hundred days later — sitting in the same park (but not on the same bench), where all this started.

I’m very grateful for this challenge (and to its hosters ofc); all the issues I’d been worried about turned out less terrifying than I imagined. to wake up knowing that you’re definitely gonna draw today, even if you’re sick, even if it’s pouring outside, is the most wonderful thing. 

but the obligation to post every day was reaaaally annoying. I’m gonna be AWOL for a while now… besides, if not for this challenge, I wouldn’t have posted more than half of these drawings and I suppose this is a plus too! I’m not ready to comprehend it yet tho ((; ω ; )ヾ(´∀`* ))))

materials for the last one: a dark blue Derwent Inktense pencil + a yellow Van Gogh oil pastel + an orange Copic.

Some life drawing of flowers while I cooked my lunch...and some thoughts. I've done some journaling collages in the past but I struggle to keep up with it. But I'd seen people with cute lil journals and using it to collage, and I thought it was a smart way to commit to it but without having a bigger page to fill. I also thought the collaging would be a nice rest from sharing my art. While it can be fun to share my art, it can also be exhausting. Our passions are like an extension of ourselves. To continuously put our personal work on display for an algorithm that puts numbers at the forefront can sometimes be a recipe for disaster.  (Though, this post is more so geared to Instagram, as I really like the fact that Tumblr hides follower counts and whatnot. I tend to enjoy posting here much more just because of the way this site is structured :) I’ve also been consistently active with sharing my art on Insta, but I’m trying to be better about it on Tumblr) I'd like to detach myself from the emotions that come with posting things at times, so I thought I'd share a hobby that's less vulnerable. So in the future, perhaps expect more collages. I won't stop sharing my art, but I like the idea of a nice escape that still allows me to interact with the community. :) Don't forget to check in with yourself when it comes to these number games and algorithms.

The manga industry, especially JUMP, needs to hurry up and do away with weekly scheduling for mangaka. There needs to better regulations put into place for their health and safety because this is pitiful. Two weeks - monthly updates should’ve already been the standard for the manga industry at this point. These money grabbers will only continue to put the lives of these artists at stake for the sake of capitalism unless some serious changes are implemented.

#my art #feralnette au #birds of a feather #long tags #sorry I went apeshit in the tags #LETS SAY IT ALL TOGETHER NOW #I - M - A - G - OOOOOOOOO #its fun drawing marinette's back to Alya and having her appear stout and unstoppable and totally logical #and then you see her face and she's like two seconds from completely snapping and is keeping it together by a thread #as a note just because mari feels very certainly abt smth doesnt mean she's right. feelings can be valid and also irrational #in the throes of grief she decided it was better to be alone than to lose someone again so she started pulling away #and lila made pulling away very very very easy to do #shes also vaguely aware she's being unfair in pinning this on alya which is why she started spinning the drain on cockmoth again #legitimately all the shit that's happened to her wouldn't have been so catastrophic if he was never in the picture and she knows it #but the bitterness of her bestie choosing a fantastic liar over her at the worst of times stiiiiiings #alya's personal timing was bad but lila really took advantage of the fact that marinette had been acting off and weird #she basically clocked marinette as being unstable from SOMETHING and made up a lie about her #knowing she wouldn't have the strength to defend herself #between her social life going tachy bc of lila and losing fu in a way that felt like personhood death marinette was really put on the spot #and alya doing her thing of busting in there and assuming her bias is correct was a terrible combo #essentially marinette is highly unstable and alya is just realizing that #busting in and giving her a lecture when she's slightly hysterical and definitely delirious from exhaustion is NOT the way #to show her she's self sabotaging #cuz thats just gonna make her double down on self sabotaging. bc marinette will not accept that she is also a CHIIIIILD
