𓂂 ˳ — The Game Caterers X HYBE is a television special of the variety series The Game Caterers featuring artists from HYBE. LE SSERAFIM were one of the artists who appeared on the special. The special aired on July 15, 2022 till July 31, 2022.

After the eventful opening ceremony, the artists retreated to their respective tents as staff placed coolers and a table with coffee on the field directed by producer Na.

“Now, let’s begin the first game.” Na pd started. “Here’s the first game, isn’t it hot today?” agreements followed, “it’s so hot but you only have some bottles of lukewarm water to prevent you from hydration.”

After producer Na explains what the first game is going to be and the instructions on how play it, Seungkwan of Seventeen is the special tagger.

Eden laughed at Seungkwan’s cute moment turning around, almost as soon as he heard someone call him handsome. Then him getting shy.

“I better warm up. I need to do my best.” Yunjin said, stretching her arms.

Now everyone made their way to the front of the line before Seungkwan could start the game, Eden raised her arm up in the air “I have a question!” She said a little bit louder. Then looked at the producer. “If we crossed the line, can we go back to and get more things?”

[ A genius at work ]

Producer Na looked at one of the other staff members for interpretation. “Um…well I don’t see why not.”

All Eden did was smile.

“Is everyone ready?” Seungkwan asked.

“Yes!” They all yelled.

“Okay, I’ll give you a long time to start!” Seungkwan announced. Then he started the chanting, “Green Hybe…”

Eden directly went to the first coolers and accidentally bumped into a member of Seventeen, she quickly said sorry and moved on to open the cooler just to see the warm data herbal.

“Eh? Let’s abandon this.” Eden said while freezing which made the group behind laugh. She looked around to check on her other members, and seems they are doing much better than her. She smiled proudly at them, “Good job everyone!” She quietly cheered.

Once Seungkwan started the chant again, Eden’s next stop was the cooler that was closest to her. That’s when she found the cans of soda that is soaked in ice water.

“Soda!” She exclaimed and quickly put her hands inside the cooler when Seungkwan turned.

“Ah! It’s so cold!” She whispered loudly and laughed when she saw Yeonjun, same with her situation.

A hand pulled her arms from the ice water, she looked up and saw a member of Seventeen. He soaked his hand instead and to get the drinks she wanted. Eden left dumbfounded by the action of him. His hand is now in the very cold water, when Seungkwan continues. He quickly get the drinks she wanted and gave it to her with a smile on his face. Still dumbfounded but Eden quickly thanked him.

“Ah…thank you, sunbaenim.” She said bowing little to him and moving forward. The member of Seventeen didn’t say anything back to her and just followed the girl with his eyes.

Instead of looking into the cooler, she notices a pack of water in the middle of the circle. She has an idea. When Seungkwan picked up the pace of the amount of times between chant, Eden ran straight to the pack of waters with two cans of soda in her hands before anyone noticed. She was almost caught.

“Phew. That was a close one.” She said to no one.

She looked to see that all of Le Sserafim made it across the finish line except for her. She noticed Yunjin and Sakura carrying a water melon. She likes watermelon.

Eden quickly placed two can of soda on top of the pack of water bottles, was it her smartest idea to carry heavy water bottles? No of course not! Her arms feel like jelly. The group needs water and she’s gonna get them water.

The members were cheering her on.

“Go Eden-eonni~!!!” Eunchae and Kazuha yelled.

“What’s taking you so long?” Yunjin yelled right after the two youngest.

“Hurry E!” Chaewon yelled using her nickname given to by her.

Sakura just silently cheered for her.

“Aish.”Eden cursed, “these are so heavy!” She mumbled.

Chaewon and Sakura noticed that seungkwan was taking way too long and glared at the man. Then Chaewon yelled, “E, are you okay?”

Eden just gave her a wink.

[ what a close family ♡! ]

Eden crossed the finish line with a big smile on her face.

“Wow, we got a pretty good haul! Good job everyone!” She smiled at her members as she put her arms around Chaewon and Yunjin.

“Congrats everyone! You may enjoy your drinks now!” Na pd announce as everyone made their way to their tents.

Eden gives the two cans of soda to their manager, who love’s drinking soda and some of the water to the other staff. Everyone thanked her.

“Eden-eonni, that was really smart!” Kazuha said, “how did you think of that?”

“I noticed the pack of water and no one was picking them up, so I did.” Eden shrugged.

“Eden-eonni is so smart!” Eunchae said proudly.

Eden playfully rolled her eyes, “Do you guys want watermelon now? Or do you wanna wait?” She asked.

“Now! I’m hungry!” Eunchae said with a pout. Eden laughs.

“What our Manchae wants, our Manchae gets!” She says playfully pinching Eunchae’s cheeks.

““Eden-eonni is the best!” Eunchae wiggled in her seat with a big smile. The other members playfully rolled their eyes. then Eden quickly runs to one of the staff member to ask them for a knife.

As soon as Eden got back from finding a knife, she started cutting the watermelon.

“We should share this with everyone!” Yunjin suggested, “Since we have two watermelons.”

“That’s a good idea!” Eden smiled at the girl. “We can also bring them some water as well!” She added.

As Eden is finishing cutting the watermelons, the girls cheered.

“Wow!” Yunjin yelled excitedly.

“You are so good at it!” Sakura complimented Eden as she is cutting the watermelon into manageable pieces.

“You are only saying this because we’re on camera.” Eden blushes a little bit then continues cutting the last piece of the watermelon. “Done!” She announces. Then she looks between her members, “So who wants to deliver watermelon?”

Each member hesitates.

[ A group of introverts at work ]

Eden sighed, “I will go…”She started hoping if she volunteered to go then at least one member will go with her.

“I’ll go!” Sakura said quickly putting her hand up in the air.

“Me too!” Eunchae said quickly too.

Eden smiled, “I knew it.”

Then the trio walked to their neighbors, Lee Hyun and his group of Hwang Min Hyun & Baekho.

“Here are some watermelons!” Eden said with a smile on her face. She also put the bottles of water down for them as well.

“Aigoo, thank you so much!” Lee Hyun said then handed the girl a melon. “Here take this.”

“Thank you.” Eden said bowing to them and then the trio went back to their tent.

Eden is already starting to wonder what the next game is going to be. But for sure whatever it is, it’ll be fun.

Fics I Enjoyed in January

I was putting together a list of the best fics I read last year and was reminded of two incredible ATLA fics I read in February 2023 ((Never) Forget Who You Are by mindbending and up in the city (until the stars lost the war) by Madseason). Those two fics are absolute perfection and sent me down an Avatar: The Last Airbender rabbit hole this month.

I read an insane amount, for me, even more than I did last year in September/October, when I was chowing down Drarry longfics like a starving dog. There's approximately 993k words of fic in this rec list - if you assume the average novel is 90k, that's about 11 books!

Devoted Soldiers -> Chap. 1

Summary: The avatar is the one thing Zuko has needed in his entire life. Not just for his honor, but for his freedom. Choices keep coming up and he truly doesn't know what to do anymore.

Eden raised to be a lady, forced to be a survivor. She's running, she's run all her life, and she refuses to be in a cage now. She also refuses to let her fate rest in someone else's hands.

I held out my arm for the messenger hawk to land on. Grabbing the note off its back, it flew off and I read the message. "He's alive. I'm bringing him home, rest assured when I return our engagement will be revoked." I recognized the handwriting. I had gotten used to it over the last three years. Prince Zuko finally found the one thing he believed would give him his honor back.

The Avatar has returned. I squeezed my thighs, making the tiger below me start moving down the hill and into the village. I hopped off once I passed the town's gates, making sure my hat along with my mask that covered my face was secured.

If the avatar is alive, then there might yet be a chance for me to get out of this farce of an engagement with Fire Prince Zuko. Though I wouldn't leave my fate in another man's hands. I paid for my supplies and strapped them onto Zane.

"Say that's a nice tiger you got there. How much can I offer you for him?"

"Zane isn't for sale."

I didn't stick around to listen to him haggle me. I jumped up onto his saddle and started to make my way to the docks of this village. It would be dark soon but it would be best to catch a ship tonight and sleep while we set sail. I jumped back off and made my way over to a fire nation soldier. "Where is this ship heading?" The command in my voice seemed to make him not think twice before responding.

"Out to Commander Zhao. Why?" I smiled, perfect. I pulled down my mask, talking more clearly. "Think you can give his daughter a lift?" The guard started sweating, shaking his head yes multiple times. "Get ready to set sail, Commander Zhao's daughter will be joining us!" I walked up the ramp behind him, Zane walking next to me.

The guard led me to a room, and decided to let me be instead of kissing my ass some more. I layed on the bed, my head resting against the comfy pillow making me sigh in comfort. I didn't realize I had drifted off.

I looked past Captain Zaho and to the prince that was in front of us. His face was wrapped in a bandage, what happened? Before I could speak, the doors to the side of the throne room opened, revealing The fire Lord.

My breath hitched, I could feel his power radiating off him. The two other boys bowed but I stood frozen, scared. A hand on my shoulder forced me into a bowing position, snapping me out of my state. I looked to my left to see the prince. He too looked scared.

"Forgive my daughter, she seems a bit nervous." Zhao spoke, but the Fire Lord dismissed it. "It's fine. I'm sure you have your suspicions on why you're here. I decided to take you up on your request Zhao."

My brows furrowed in confusion. What was he talking about? What request and why were two kids here and involved. My eyes widened. No. Marriage? There hasn't even been an announcement of Zuko's hand. Usually a royal hand is announced available, and people would fill in their request to put a ring on it.

"Your daughter and my son are now officially engaged. You may now leave Zhao. I will send your daughter out in just a minute." Guards escorted him out, leaving just me and Prince Zuko. I looked once again to my left, his fear now had a mix of terror. Looks like I'm not the only one not wanting this.

"Do you know what it means to be a wife?" My voice spoke quiet, but affirmative. "Yes, my lord." My back started to hurt a bit from this position, but I didn't dare move. "Onto next matters. Zuko for failing to face me in an Agi Kai you will be banished until you find the avatar and bring him back here." My blood ran cold. He was banished?

I couldn't stop myself, I was too hasty, too ahead of myself, too reckless. "What?!" I stood and spoke out of turn, looking at the cruel Fire Lord.

A guard came, wrapping my arms around my back, making me panic. "Let go of me!" I tried to wiggle myself loose, but a grown man's strength compared to a kid is outmatched. I used my hand to grab his hand. Once my skin touched his I heated up my palm, burning into his flesh. "I said let me go!" This time he did as requested and looked at his now smoking hand.

I took a few steps back, eyes widening at what I had done. I turned to the fire lord expecting him to yell, to kill me. Instead he turned and left, dismissing everyone.

I looked to the prince who started to rise. "I'm sorry—" "What do you care?" His voice cut mine off. "You just disrespected my father and he didn't even care, I respected mine and got a permeate scar!"

"I'm sorry, Zuko—"

"Prince Zuko! Remember it. I promise I'll find the avatar and when I return home I'll end this stupid engagement."

The sound of the men docking woke me up. I looked at Zane, who yawned while stretching. I walked to the door, opening it while Zane followed behind me, his tail slightly swaying. I walked down the ramp, looking at the ship next to us that looked to be completely wrecked. Woah. I walked over, my eyes narrowing at a certain prince and loveable uncle.

"You mean the Avatar?" I heard Iroh speak. My eyes widened and I hurried to cover his mouth lightly. I let him go once he noticed me, and my silent message. "Don't mention his name on these docks. If people hear, everyone will be looking for him." Iroh silently nodded.

I looked to the prince to see he still wore his typical scowl. "I don't even like you knowing." He spoke to me, then talked to his uncle. "I don't want anyone getting on the way."

"Getting in the way of what?" I watched as Zhao and the two thunderheads beside me gave their interactions. I couldn't help my eyes twitching as they tried to come up with an excuse for their ship. "You must tell me all of the exciting details over dinner."

"Sorry but we have to go." Zuko started to walk away only to be stopped by his uncle. "Prince Zuko, we must show Commander Zhao our respect." He let the prince go and turned to the commander, "We would love and be honored to join."

The two started to walk away causing Zuko to sigh in frustration, fire bending his steam away. I watched as they started to walk, but I stayed and looked to the ship, The Avatar did that? That's why you don't leave your fate in someone else's hands Eden. I told myself. "Are you coming or not?" I looked over to the prince, sighing as I began to follow him.

I rubbed my eyes, and sighed when Iroh was startled by the mention of the avatar, knocking over some spears. These two are idiots if they thought Zhao didn't knew what happened based on their stupid lie.

"Come on uncle, we're going." Zuko started to leave only to be stopped by guards. "Commander Zhao, we interrogated the crew as ordered. They confirmed Zuko had the avatar in custody."

"Now remind me, how exactly was your ship damaged?" Here we go.

"Are you worried I'm going to stop you?" I looked up from my position on the floor, I had been laying against Zane. Zhao laughed, underestimating Zuko's words and tone. "You stop me? Unlikely."

"Don't underestimate me Zhao, I will capture the avatar before you ever will." I slowly started to rise as the situation started to escalate. Iroh tried to calm Zuko down but he was too late. "An Agi Kai! Sunset."

"Commander." I started to speak, approaching him. "Maybe instead of doing this you'd just prefer a head start." Though he didn't listen to me, instead he decided to accept. I watched as Zhao left the room, and instead of staying I decided to follow after Zhao.

"You don't have to do this! He's just a kid." He turned quickly to me. "You were even younger. Bad things happen no matter the age. You know that, now put on a good face just like your mother used to say." I stayed quiet, let him walk away, and I stayed there for a few minutes. Zan was the one to nudge me out of my trans.

I watched as the two fire benders rose, the bell ringing announcing the start. Zuko hit him with a barrage of advanced moves. He won't win that way. Now's not the time to show off Zuko. Though why was I rooting for him? I should root for Zhao no?

Zuko started to block, but with each attack Zhao sent, his stance weakend, knocking him back onto the ground. I watched as Zhao landed on top of Zuko. I took a step. Why? I didn't take another step though, Zuko kicked Zhao's feet out — giving him the upper hand.

I watched as Zuko won, I watched Zhao send an attack of dishonor, I watched as Iroh pushed Zhao back. I watched as they walked away. I took that step I stook back, fixing my stance. I gestured for Zane to follow and I went to my temporary room, grabbing his saddle. I buckled him securely and made my way to the dock, looking for the first ship I felt like sailing out on. A hand on my shoulder tore my attention away from the captain I was speaking to.

I turned around to see Iroh smiling kindly at me. "Me and Prince Zuko were hoping you would accompany us." I could faintly hear Zuko yelling, "I never said that!" I smiled at Iroh, "I kindly accept." Zane brushed up against me, causing me to hop onto him. We slowly walked up the ramp of the newly fixed ship.

"Just for the record I wasn't the one who wanted you here." I heard Zuko say as I settled into the room. I turned to him, he was leaning against the doorway — arms crossed. I nodded my head in understanding.

I didn't get sleep that night, a normal occurrence.

Le Bal 2023

Le Bal des Débutantes is tomorrow and I'm very excited that V Muse will be the official jewelers again. We usually see a tiara or two at the event but last year was amazing because they choose an estate jeweler with a huge historical collection instead of a company making new jewelry. As far as I can tell V Muse currently has ten tiaras in their inventory and I hope to see several of them worn by this year’s participants.

the sky concept art masterpost!

i compiled a bunch of official sky concept art in a google drive folder because i got incredibly sidetracked looking at elder references. it’s not all illustrations; there are a few 3d images from the game’s development. i also included dev notes when available as well as the slides from the art of sky presentation.

google drive folder here - note that this is mostly for easy viewing and saving the images if you want. i’ll be listing the direct sources below

tom zhao’s sky concept art - a classic. over 200 images. concepts for basically every major aspect of the base game. includes lore, story beats, environment concepts, etc.

art of sky cotl - a presentation by yuichiro tanabe + cecil kim on the art of sky. i believe some of these images are the ones you can see in the office area? the slides themselves are in the folder but the important commentary is all here!

7 days of sky - includes concept art from tom zhao so you will see some repeated images here. this one has the most dev comments. goes through all realms minus eden as well as elders + creatures. originally posted on twitter as 7 separate threads but this is the easiest to view

tiffany hayashi’s tumblr + concept art - some early development sky concepts. commentary taken from tumblr, the concept art page is the art by itself with a few not posted to tumblr

ashley coad - some concept art for various seasons. i didn’t include the flight promotional pic in the folder since it’s Promotional but it’s there if you want to save it

addy. addy. can we get a rough summary of the results so far... this is going to make me curious!!!

HI!!!! OF COURSE!!! i've been having such a blast looking over these responses! it'd be selfish not to share some info with you all!!

i posted this survey on reddit as well, so i'm getting a lot of variety in the results! i have about 92 responses so far. if anyone wants to post this on twitter, discord, or any other social media, definitely do!! the bigger the sample size, the more accurate the results!

age seems to be very evenly spread across the 14 - 30+ range, funny enough. this one will be interesting to look into more once i have more responses, could make for some super interesting correlations.

vast majority of responses are from cis females (approximately 70% as of rn), however there have been absolutely zero cis males, meaning the remaining 30% of the respondents are trans, nonbinary, genderfluid, or prefer not to answer :)

majority of respondents are straight, however, there are also a lot of asexuals. like a lot. following that are the bisexuals and then aromantics. this is just from a quick glimpse, but it seems the straight/bisexual respondents trend towards ayn, the aromantic respondents trend towards cael (this one is actually very notable), the asexual respondents trend towards alkaid, and clarence and lars are wildcards and are a good mix of everything.

this is also besides the point but the small number of lesbian respondents are currently evenly split between both alkaid and clarence, haha.

north america, europe, and asia are the most reoccurring continents, so i'm not too surprised there. majority of respondents are white or asian. following these two are black respondents, and then those of hispanic, latino, or spanish origin.

alkaid is doing very well in the general character preferences section, and i regret not adding mc as a character as a few people put her in the "other" section! alkaid is also leading in the bias section, with ayn and cael trailing in second and third respectively. though, it is worth noting this section is evenly spread, with no major stand outs as of rn.

general route preference is heavily biased in favor of clarence's godheim route and alkaid's eden route! it also seems a large chunk of the respondents have not even played the eden routes yet, which makes for alkaid's second place status somewhat impressive.

when i held everyone as gunpoint to pick one (1) favorite route, clarence's godheim route is leading in first, with alkaid's eden route trailing in second. other routes of interest here are ayn's eden route and alkaid's godheim route.

world preferences are very evenly spread, though "whatever the hell is going on with cael's world" is leading by like, two right now HAHA

most people (approx 65%) use japanese voice acting, while the remaining 21% use the chinese voice acting (shout out to my fellow chinese voice acting girlies, the zhao lu pull is Too Strong), and 13% swap between both.

spending seems very split. half of us are free to play and half of us spend only a little on monthly passes or tiny purchases. a very small portion (7% or so) spend more than that.

and to finish this off, here are some of my favorite open ended responses so far. i will be posting official results with screenshots, correlations, and other fun stuff in a week or so hehe
