How a relationship with Shoto Todoroki would develop by Vi ✨

Hi everyone, It's Vi! ✨ Today I was thinking about how would a relationship with Shoto be like so I wrote this. Hope u enjoy! ☺️ (Again, I'm sorry if there are any grammatical mistakes, english is not my first language 🙏🏻)

Strangers to friends

• When you both entered the U.A, Shoto wasn't interested in making friends as his mission was to supperpass Endeavour. He didn't have time for things as trivial as establishing relationships and he made it known to everyone around him. However, everything changed when he scored a low grade at the spanish exam. He actually thought he could manage that class easily without help but it didn't seem like it and that really damage his self-esteem. Aizawa already knew Shoto would've a negative reaction so he suggested to asked his classmates for help and let's just say, the idea didn't thrilled him. Everybody was asking Yaoyoruzu, Bakugou or Deku for help but he was too proud to asked them. He would figured out something by himself.

• Shoto spent the whole week reading Spanish books but he just couldn't grasped the concept. Also, his irritation grew more as his classmates were progressing faster that him (thanks to the tutoring lessons they were given)

One afternoon in particular, Shoto was in the library working on some exercises when one girl from his class appeared. She grabbed a book and sat down near him. As much as he would like to say he couldn't care less about her, he definitely knew who she was. Her name was y/n, she had an air manipulation quirk and a very distracting face. And by "distracting", he meant "the prettiest face he's ever seen" and what bother him so much it's that, more often than not, he would give quick glaces her way during class and completely forget what he was doing.

Shoto has never been able to make friends as his father always put training above more mundane things so he had cero social skills. So this "attraction" he felt towards her was also something he had never experienced before and even he wanted to get closer to her, he just didn't know how so instead, he did his best to ignore her. However, it was kind of difficult as she definitely was the nicest person he's ever meet.

• y/n saw he was struggling with some spanish exercises and offered to help as it was her first language so it was easy for her and eventhough he declined her offer many times, she helped him anyway. It was actually the best decision she could ever make as not only he got on of the highest scores in class but also, Shoto finally let her get closer to him even if he still had this "unapproachable actitud". And that's how their friendship started and honestly, everybody was shocked that the 1A's rain of sunshine was friends with Todoroki.

• At first it was only saying hi to each other, sitting together at lunch and training together. However, over time, Shoto warmed up to her (and also to others) so they hung out at y/n's bedroom where they watched movies and also had this tradition where they would go to different restaurants or cafe every month.

• After the Sports festival, Endeavour offered y/n to do a internship at his agency along with his son but, for Shoto's relief, she said no as she went to pro hero Hawks agency. Eventhough he would've liked to spent more time with her, he wanted to keep his father away from y/n and her quirk. He felt the need to protected her but little did he know that wasn't just him being connected with but something else; something more deeper and he was about to find out...

Friends to lovers

• Fuyumi invited Shoto's friends, Izuku and Bakugou, to have dinner at their house but Endeavour and her were not expecting someone else to appeared after they all were at the table. Shoto had sent a last minute message to invite y/n but didn't want to tell his sister beforehand as she would've pushed the topic and, honestly, he wasn't ready to rationalized those feelings. Because lately, he's been feeling this kind of excitement every time he caught a glimpse of her, smiling a lot more when she was around and his breath was taken away when she would put her head on his shoulder or held his hand. He could be dense sometimes but he wasn't an idiot, deep down he knew this meant something else but was too coward to act on it. Everybody was shocked to see the young lady as Shoto was someone who kept his private life for himself. Izuku, Bakugou, y/n and him survived the tense situation and where about to head home but not before Fuyumi did an interrogation to Shoto about this new friend of his. Her sixth sense told her little brother was in fact, in love with the e/c girl. It was just too obvious! his sister noticed how his normally "irritated face" (because of Endeavour) light up when y/n arrived or how he was always attentive and paying attention to what she did or what she was saying. Also, when she asked y/n if she was Shoto's girlfriend he did not denied but blushed instead. So she really hoped his brother could be happy with her and treat her right

(Of course Fuyumi gave y/n her number for exchanging recipes and update her about his little brother)

•One particularly day, during training, Izuku and y/n were sparing together, something very unusual as she always trained with Todoroki. At first, he thought that maybe she just wanted to try fighting with other quirks (eventhough theirs work perfectly together) so he kept going with his day as usual. However, when she sat next to Midoriya at lunch and were having a very animated conversation, he started to feel a bit irritated but didn't say anything. That night, he had been so busy that he ended up showering really late. As he was walking to his room, he saw y/n coming out of Midoriya's bedroom and when she realised he just caught her, her eyes widened and she nervously said goodbye to him and left in a hurry. Oh, Shoto saw red! If it wasn't for the fact that Deku had closed his door quickly, he would definitely be freezed by now. He didn't like this feeling of pure range but he couldn't help it. Since when they got along so well? What was so fascinating about Midoriya that everybody fell to his feets? Gosh he prayed she didn't like his friend like that cause he didn't know what he would do. All this interaction lighted up an alarmed that remainded him that she won't wait forever, that he needed to confess before he lost her to someone else

• Shoto couldn't sleep that night, planning his confession and imagining possible scenarios and reactions to it. He didn't know if she felt something more than a friendship and honestly, he was scared shirtless cause he didn't want to lose their great friendship, he wouldn't known what to do with himself if y/n rejected him. He couldn't go back to how his life was before her appeared in it and made it worth living beyond a revenge. And, eventhough he was terrified of her response, it was better than to keep those feelings bottled. So the next morning he left a letter on her desk saying he needed to talked to her and that they should met at the school's terrace.

• Once she stood in front of him, he didn't let her ask any questions and just went straight to the point (as he always did) "Look y/n, the reason I called you here today was because something's been bothering me for a while. You and my feelings for you. Since we first spoke, I thought you were too good to be actually true and when you became my friend, I felt blessed to have someone I can trust and who doesn't judge me. Someone who taught me that it's ok to cry sometimes and that my feelings are valuable. I even started to opened up more to others. And all thanks to you! I'm not gonna lie, when I saw you with Midoriya yesterday, my heart hurt cause the thought of being so close to you yet losing you, was just too much. I know I'm being selfish. You deserve someone who has no trouble expressing their emotions or someone who isn't carrying childhood scars that haven't healed yet (emotionally speaking) Maybe you should be with someone as nice as Midoriya" he paused and continued "but what I'm trying to say is that, if you ever feel anything for me that makes you appreciate the good things above all the bad things I have, I swear to love you with my heart and soul. Take it both of them, it's full of you. Take all of me y/n, I'm already yours anyway... It's ok if you don't reciprocate, I mean you don't -" And Shoto was definitely not expecting for her to kiss him but he won't complain. The kiss was a bit clownsly as they were inexperienced but it was beautiful because they loved each other and they would've time to learn. From that day, Shoto kept his promise to loved her and protect her and he felt in love with her every day all over again.

BnHA Chapter 322: IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME

Previously on BnHA: Endeavor was all, “Kirishima please take Hagakure and Aoyama and put them away somewhere out of sight until we’re finally ready for the U.A. Traitor Plot.” Shouto was all “HEY DEKU DID IT EVER OCCUR TO YOU THAT MAYBE YOU WANDERING THE STREETS LOOKING LIKE A GOTH PRAYING MANTIS IS EXACTLY WHAT AFO WANTS.” Deku was all “I’M SORRY I CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF MY CRUSHING MARTYR COMPLEX AND ACCUMULATED TRAUMA.” Mineta was all “HEY DEKU YOU SWEET THANG, IF I COULD REARRANGE THE ALPHABET I’D PUT ‘U’ AND ‘I’ TOGETHER, ANYWAYS HMU 💖”, or at least that’s what fandom apparently thought he said. Everyone was all “WELL SINCE WE’RE BACK HERE IN KAMINO WE SHOULD DO THE THING” and did the whole “launching someone into the air to save someone by dramatically grabbing their hand” thing that everybody fucking loves to do in Kamino so damn much. Iida was all “[bombards me and Deku with feels].” Deku was all, “ू(ʚ̴̶̷́ .̠ ʚ̴̶̷̥̀ ू).” I was all, “(;*△*;).” Horikoshi was all, “my work here is done.”

Today on BnHA:

so I finally went back to look at what I wrote up for 321 last week, and it’s a hot fucking mess lol, and I really don’t want to deal with that right now, so we’re just gonna skip it and go back sometime in the next few days or something because I really want to read the new chapter and I have no self control. dawg i am BEGGING YOU to consider doing a pt 2 of Icks with todo, deku , & bakugou. It was literally so fuckin funny man 😭😭😭 i fr have re read it so many times i’ve lost track at this point. It never fails to make me smile or laugh. And everything is so specific too & fits each one of them so perfectly that Horikoshi might as well just come out and say everything u wrote is canon. Thinks it's cute to put his arm around your neck

Thinks he doesn’t need to brush his hair

Thinks it's funny to ignore you, but gets mad when you ignore him

Toenails are uneven

Ruins your outfits by making you bring a jacket everywhere

If you leave anything around that he's interested in (see: candy), he’s “confiscating” it

Calls self care “unnecessary…" and says shit like, “that’s terrible for battle” if you try to show him your nails or soft skin or something

Yells at the TV…

His mouth gets greasy when he eats... and he will try to wipe it off or clean his teeth with the bottom of his shirt

Watches you play phone or video games and gets mad if you make a wrong move

Walks (stomps) super fast for no reason??????

And has heavy ass footsteps that will wake you up in the morning

Mouth breathes

Likes back scratches but won’t scratch yours back (he’s bad at it, anyway)

And will not let you drop an argument for the life of you… political debate vibes except about stuff like how to clean the shower

His phone is super greasy, too... and he has one of those really old and bulky protective cases that doesn't even work

Grumpily says "what?" when he picks up the phone at work or in front of his friends

Snores

Deku

Sheds like an animal… you run your hands through his hair and at least five strands are getting caught in your fingers every single time

You clean the drain too, and it’s literally all his hair

Always forgets to put the toilet seat back down

Leaves half-full water bottles everywhere

And everybody says this, but… will eat your leftovers. And the last bit of ice cream you were saving for yourself

Stinky because he's always sweating... and literally smells like pure testosterone. You can always tell when he’s been somewhere because the room just always smells like Man

Tbh his shoes probably smell bad, too

“Oh wait, my mom gave me a coupon for this... hold on, let me find it...”

Khakis or dad jeans on his days off

And just look at a picture of this boy and tell me he doesn’t overpluck his eyebrows

Will walk in on you using the bathroom or showering because "he needed something"

And leaves all his shaving stubble in the sink if he's late to work

Thinks his puppy-dog eyes work

If you asked him to choose between you and All Might... he would hesitate

Listens to ASMR made by and for men

"Can't you just use a makeup wipe?"

Except he will (or try to, at least) use your skincare products without asking... and you can always tell when he has

Earwaxy

And yeah... you do have an All Might shrine somewhere in your house

“Can we have sex tonight?”

Thinks you can cook + make meals in the toaster oven

Reminds you to do your skincare routine… or some other basic task you probably already knew about

On chore day, he’s hard to get moving and “tires” easily… you find him on the couch 20 minutes into any task just… looking at his phone

Doesn't take you seriously when you're mad at him, either... and thinks you probably don't mean it or that he can fix it, anyway

“Hey, can I have some?” except he never waits for your answer

Ok so it looks like im gonna have to intervene off anon cause im not a PUSSY like SOME of the people here

first of all, to address the “just mediocre” comments - i suppose it depends on what anon’s definition of mediocre is, and to a certain extent, i agree. do i think that jjk is a modern masterpiece that will eventually rival the likes of fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood or sailor moon? no, i dont. do i think jjk is a genre-defying shonen anime that is leaps and bounds above most of its peers? yes. so i suppose i would also consider jjk “just mediocre” in comparison to legendary classics, but i think anyone who calls jjk mediocre in comparison to other popular anime rn, like BNHA (there, i said it), is kidding themselves.

jjk’s plot, while nothing particularly groundbreaking, is pretty compelling. at risk of spoiling anything, im not going to go into specifics, but the world in jjk lends itself to some pretty cool villains and plot points. it’s similar to bnha in that it follows high-school students that have basically magic powers, but unlike bnha it introduces real stakes quickly, so it feels like there’s a real threat that the protagonists face off against from the get-go. and while this isn’t particularly covered in the first season, the manga shows that the show and characters don’t have any real plot-armor, so later seasons will be even more interesting and exciting.

jjk’s real strength comes in its characters. the protagonist himself appears to be a stereotypical goody-happy-go-lucky guy at first, but this is quickly challenged by circumstances that are thrust upon him that challenge his world view at the beginning of the series. and while he does still appear to be the same upbeat character as always, his narrative adds emotional depth that i think is lacking in some other shounen protagonists. and this all happens right at the beginning of the series, so im sure he’ll grow even more as the anime continues. moreover, as some of my comrades have already stated, jjk actually knows how to write women characters!!! amazing!! while BNHA struggles to give any of its female characters compelling motivations beyond a crush (a crush!! are u fucking kidding me) i never felt that JJk neglected its female characters. they all have very different personalities, motivations, and powers. in fact, the show devotes basically a whole episode to just the backstory of two female side-characters, which i cant say i remember many other shounen doing, esp not in one that has only had one season. the series also pretty boldly speaks on how shitty sexism is and addresses it as an issue that will be eventually confronted as part of a particular character’s arc, so that’s pretty exciting (also their school uniform covers basically the same amount of skin as the boy’s uniform and there are never any pervy scenes so yayyyy baby steps i guess). speaking of side characters, jjk actually makes its side characters interesting. BNHA made the mistake of cramming twenty students into class 1-A and expected me to give a shit about most of them despite horikoshi giving the vast majority of them little to no development - at this point im convinced half the reason i even care about any characters is because of fanon (sorry to any bnha stans that im shitting so much on bnha, i actually like bnha i promise it’s just so easy to shit on). meanwhile jjk keeps it’s cast of characters pretty small, allowing all of them to have a decent amount of screen time and interesting backstories and powers.

jjk’s animation is also pretty incontestably amazing. the fight scenes are beautiful and nicely choreographed, and the art style is imo pretty. also, to address the comments about pacing - i will admit that jjk does start with a very quick pace, but i actually prefer faster paced anime, especially action anime, so i guess it’s a matter of personal preference. JJK does also slow down towards the middle before picking back up at the end, so there’s something in there for everybody lol. Also i feel like the fast pace makes the series pretty bingable, and since it’s only 24 episodes at like 25 min each, i think its still actually worth watching, even if you come out of it thinking “that was just ok.” god knows there’s plenty of worse shit out there to watch.
