CHAPTERS 1-6^^^
UPDATE ALERT
FREEDOM FIGHTER
Chapter Seven:
The Jedi taught that where there was passion, there must be serenity; where there was ignorance, knowledge; where emotion, peace.
It was often misconstrued that to achieve the latter, the former must be eradicated. It could not be true, for peace was not the rejection of emotion; peace was achieved by accepting life, not denying the experience in full.
The Sith also had a mantra, one that spoke of power and freedom, placing the individual at the centre of the universe; it was ironic, then, that they who spoke of broken chains would use the Force to shackle them upon others.

Hear me out, okay.
In 10 ABY, when 'Ahsoka' is set, Ahsoka is only in her mid to late forties.
At the end of TROS (she's not dead, sorry, I'm not having it), she would be about seventy.
Which is definitely not to old too old to teach Finn some Force stuff. Former child soldier to former child soldier.
Elder Ahsoka teaches Finn some Force Stuff AU like right now plz.

that finn fic i think abt all the time is dust in the wind. i can’t find it. it’s one where he basically learns the force on his own, he gets out of the first order not thru Poe but he still ends up at maz’s place and i believe the last time it updated yrs ago, he was working there?

Fin's never seen an article of clothing with a pattern like this before, so silly and impractical. She thinks she likes it.
(Or, Poe Dameron wears a plaid jacket, and it's just one of the things in this universe that are different)
Shoutout to my sister for inspiration with the title.

Feeling delusional rn…. old people Dinluke adopting Finn and having to go through him bringing Poe to one of the family dinners. Luke loves the Damerons and thinks Poe is a spunky kid who’s probably gonna end up getting his kid arrested but maybe it’ll do him some good. Din can’t stand Poe.
“We don’t know what his intentions are”
“Din he’s a kid, he’s only 19. Give him a break”
“Yeah, and what were YOU doing when you were 19”

The LEGO Star Wars specials really said "of COURSE Finn is force-sensitive and training to be a Jedi" and they are so valid for that

Lonely Shadows
Lonely shadows following me, Lonely ghosts come calling Lonely voices talking at me, Now I’m gone, now I’m gone, now I’m gone
Jango couldn’t find any record of a ship arriving. And yet.
The woman wasted no time, striding through the halls, introducing herself to any and every clone she crossed paths with. General Organa, she said. Leia, if any of them wanted to address her informally.
Her shadows pressed the ‘informal’ aspect a little harder. Just call me Poe; it’s only Commander Dameron in emergencies. He smiled wide and joked easily, inviting the troopers to relax more smoothly than his superior. The other one stayed quiet, for the most part. Drifted to the edge, if they happened to meet a large group of clones at once. Managed to find the wariest soldiers, every time, and kept repeating the same words.
My name is Finn. I used to be FN-2187.
And each time, without fail, he got those same soldiers to loosen up. To look at him with awe in their eyes, and easily transfer it to Dameron, who’d offered him that name, and Organa, who never acted like he was anything other than a trusted confidant.
Jango didn’t think he was the product of a Kaminoan cloning vat. But. Wherever he’d come from, Finn carried himself like someone used to marching in armor, and said exactly the right things to make the troopers trust him, from those fully grown down to the smallest cadets. Even Dameron, for all his relaxed posture and open smiles, couldn’t manage it nearly so easily.
Neither of them paid Jango the slightest bit of attention as he stalked after their group, watching with folded arms at each stop. Organa, though. She glanced at him at least once per interaction, a single eyebrow arched in challenge.
And my mother told me son let it be, Sold my soul to the calling Sold my soul to a sweet melody, Now I’m gone, now I’m gone, now I’m gone
Despite no record of the ship that dropped them off, the Kaminoans didn’t dither over assigning private quarters for the trio. Organa and Finn, after all, both carried lightsabers on their hips. Blasters, too, but the Jedi weapons stood out as more important. When Jango first tried to confront them, in the hall outside Lama Su’s main office, Organa looked him up and down, snorted, and flung Jango into the wall without lifting so much as a damn finger.
“Technically not a Jedi,” she told him, keeping Jango pinned in place with his feet dangling. “But my brother is. And I learned plenty from him.”
Clearly. He knew how some Force-users could make a phantom fist around their target’s throat, choking off airflow until they collapsed. Organa took that to a new extreme - it felt like getting flattened inside a trash compactor, with no room to move a limb or his head or even his lungs.
Only when the woman had walked halfway down the corridor with her two shadows did the pressure ease off, letting Jango drop to his knees and gasp for breath. And even so, he could still feel a sense of her watching him. Not malevolent, not amused, but assessing. And Jango liked that even less than he would if Organa acted like she was toying with him.
Oh give me that fire Oh give me that fire Oh give me that fire Burn, burn, burn

NEW FIC ALERT
FREEDOM FIGHTER
Fandom: Star Wars - All Media Types
Tags: Force-Sensitive Finn, Time Travel, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Fix-It, That's Not How The Force Works, Jedi as Found Family, Protective Clone Troopers, Finn-centric, Hurt/Comfort, Protective Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker Doesn't Turn to the Dark Side
Summary: FN-2187 was not a Good Stormtrooper, for all that he was a skilled one.
Good Stormtroopers followed orders. They didn't question their surroundings, didn't doubt, didn't feel guilt and grief… didn't wish that the First Order never existed.
And they definitely, definitely, didn't have the Force.
AKA
FN-2187 was more important than anyone could have possibly anticipated.
The Sith, for one, absolutely hadn't seen him coming.

Okay since Reva is still alive. I am just gonna say my pitch.
What if she returns in The Mandalorian?
My pitch would basically be Din and Reva fall in love, and Finn is their son and Finn is the heir to Mandalore and the Darksaber
aka giving Finn the much needed focus, backstory and treating him like the big deal he should have been in the Sequels
I realize this won’t happen since Disney refuses to move forward and is killing the brand with memberberries/nostalgia porn, John Boyega rightfully refuses to come back after his character was treated like an afterthought. But I think Mandalorian and Jedi Finn would be the best direction to go if they chose to go back to the Sequel era characters.

Something that came to mind this morning that I'm really enjoying thinking about:
A sequel trilogy modern AU where all the main characters are just normal kids, about 8 years old or so, and Star Wars isn't real, or even a franchise, just a fun, nonsensical game of make believe played after school and on the weekends.
The story's pretty similar: Rey, an unimportant but determined young girl and her best friends, Poe (the best aerial ace of his time purely because he likes jumping off the swingset to do his "daring feats"), Finn (a kind-hearted escapee from the dark side who's up for anything, but needs to be home at 6 every day for dinner), and Rose (a mechanic with a rebellious streak--and the best dodgeball player in the third grade) are fighting against the nefarious Kylo Ren (played by Ben Solo in a too-big black jacket that his grandfather gave him for when he got older) and his right hand man, General Hux (who's usually less worried about military strategies than he is about Rose and Poe breaking another lamp).
Others get dragged in sometimes too--Han got brought in on a rainy afternoon only to be killed off by his own son (which he still gripes about), Ben's uncle Luke helps "train" Finn and Rey in saber fighting (consisting of kitchen utensils and the occasional broom handle) whenever he's visiting, and Ben's down-the-street neighbors sometimes make appearances as Liutenant Mitaka and Captain Phasma, which is always fun because then the sides are tied!--but usually it's just those six.
The questionable plot choices of the movies are a bit more excusable (and to me, almost endearing) in this case because they're just kids having fun!! Usually Kylo Ren is the Big Bad, but some days he wants to be a good guy too! In those cases, he plays as the redeemed Ben Solo (and by that count, Hux turns good too, because it's no fun being evil alone), and they all team up against the true enemy, the murderous Emperor Snoke (a very large, hairy, and friendly dog actually named Jar Jar who belongs to Mr. Kenobi, the friendly old guy next door). Hux got a set of walkie talkies for his birthday and became a "spy" for the weekend after he used them to help the others to escape Kylo Ren's lair (Ben wouldn't talk to him at school the next day lol). Luke Skywalker is a grumpy, jaded old man who's become disillusioned with the great war between light and darkness and would rather watch the world wither away from his isolated island--yes, uncle Luke, we know you're not really like that, but Ben and Hux say we'd have too much help and it'd be unfair if you were nice. Pleeeeaaaase?
Just,,,kids having fun :)

anyways so also i'm still thinking about that mary sue jackass on twitter whining about rey still bc the complaint is always 'rey beats kylo ren easily out of nowhere' and that is just fundamentally not what happens in that movie
-- one of the first things we see rey do is absolutely demolish a bunch of guys on jakku, so we know she can fight
-- one of the first things she does in the saber fight with kylo ren is echo her staff fighting motions and try to lunge at him, but she doesn't have the same range w the saber
-- so she holds her own defensively but is literally on the run and ends up pinned between ren and a sudden cliff edge as a crevasse opens up
-- she doesn't actually turn the battle against ren until she
wait for it
USES THE FORCE
(which is exactly what LUKE did!)
also that whole fight kylo ren is literally dying after being gut-shot, bc chewie blasted him with his fkn bowcaster, which is ALSO set-up earlier as being strong enough to send dudes FLYING after a hit
so kylo ren took a GRENADE to the stomach and STILL nearly won that fight!
just absolutely no reading comprehension at all, it's almost like they haven't seen the film more than once and remember it wrong, or are deliberately or unconsciously lying about to serve a reactionary agenda, and it doesn't matter how rey won but rather THAT she won, at all
the only actual mary sue in that movie is kylo ren
the only other mary sue in that movie is poe dameron
