Gertrude Robinson:

She is the definition of the trolley problem. Sacrificing those who trusted her in order to save the world, only to find out the world would have been safe either way.

Gertrude is a badass old lady who killed many people and many monsters, ate people’s fears and forced information out of them. She manipulated folks into doing what she needed, neglected the health of one of her closest allies, and stopped several apocalyptic rituals. She was only stopped because the guy trying to manipulate her into ending the world shot her in the chest three times. Morally gray queen, rest in violence maam

She once dismembered a guy and dumped him in a sinkhole, destroying an entire town, in order to prevent the end of the world. She's dedicated to preventing various armageddons, and her favorite methods to do so involve plastic explosives.

Gertrud: The Rose Garden Witch

I’ll occasionally makes posts about canon witches as well on this blog, going through Witches with established canon about them, then to the lesser known witches that lack information about them, where I’ll give my own take on them. So let’s begin on the one witch that started it all, Gertrud.

Gertrud, the rose garden witch with a distrustful nature. She holds roses dearer than anything else. She expends all of her power for the sake of beautiful roses. Despite stealing the life-force of humans who wander into her barrier to give to her roses, she loathes the thought of them trampling the inside of her barrier.

Her familiars consist of Anthony and Adelbert.

Anthony, is a familiar of Gertrud, his duty is landscaping. Their mustaches are personally groomed by Gertrud herself.

Adelbert, is the other familiar of Gertrud, his duty is to act as lookout. Upon seeing a human, he will sound a warning bell and headbutt him mercilessly. They have 2.5 (20/8) vision. The smaller type can change into rose vines to hinder intruders.

I hope at some point in the future, Magia Record will show us Gertrud’s human form, if Nagisa can happen, then Shaft can surely give Gertrud a little something too.

For example, the spheres on both of them remind me of the spheres on Gisela:

But the arms recall the braids/hat's elements. The jester’s bow may recall the handlebars. The skirt, however, can recall spider legs (even if with a little imagination) and even the hair of the Space Mahou Shoujo have a spidery feel. On the other hand, Gisela’s description reads: The silver witch, with a free nature. She dwells in a barrier where everything moves at high speed, but the witch herself is dull. She unfortunately can not use any sort of scientific power. Her body was once dazzling with silver, but she has tarnished gazing upon the coastal sunset. So I don’t think Gisela could be the Space Mahou Shoujo. In addition, the jester inspires a free nature. I also thought of quicksilver, which in italy indicates vitality, but in the witch's description with silver is indicated just the color , so it's not a proof in favor. So Patricia is the showy Space Mahou Shoujo. Which seems absurd. We know Patricia is the "class representative witch". A figure that inspires sobriety. Even the upper element of his Grief Seed recalls a cherry blossom, which recalls the spring and therefore the beginning of school activities in Japan. And I think it can remember a clear, rainless wather. The Guidebook states: "It’s raining again today. How long will I continue to be unlucky for?" Her labyrinth is a blue sky. At her death it rains violently. This makes me think about weather, on which we keep an eye from space with satellites. And after Patricia’s death, you can hear a noise like a aircraft falling. But is it a plane? At first I thought of a ufo, given the theme and nature of the witch (onlooker). An alien or a space creature (and I would say that spiders are quite alien creatures) that observes humans from above. But the sound could be that of a satellite that monitors the sky, almost secretly, spectator. Finally, since she is the class representative witch, I would say that maybe she had good grades aat school, and could have the science that Gisela lacks even as a Mahou Shoujo.
