“Why do we even have a strawberry field?”
“Because…Demeter, I guess?”
It was mid summer, and you’d forced Percy to join you in picking strawberries. It was his first summer staying at camp, and since you were his closest friend, you showed him all the things you loved about this time of year. Today, that thing was strawberry picking.
“I mean, camp has some of the best strawberries I’ve ever tasted.” You started calmly, imagining the flavor of your favorite fruit, “You’re gonna love ‘em, I promise.”
Percy nodded, half believing you as he reached down for another strawberry. He didn’t care so much about picking berries, finding it a rather simple activity at a camp for demigods, but he listened to each word you spoke as if it would be your last. “I’m trusting you on this one, pollen-head.”
In the time Percy had been at camp, you had become one of his closer friends, outside of Annabeth and Grover. You’d met in his first few days when he wandered off during the bonfire, which you often did to get some alone time, leading him to find you just by the edge of the forest.
“Hello?” Percy called, clutching Riptide as he approached a moving figure. He had thought that, in his wandering, he wouldn’t find anyone by the forest; but apparently he was wrong. When you turned to him, his fist unclenched, releasing Riptide back into his pocket when he met your tearful gaze.
“Sorry for scaring you.” You chuckled, wiping your tears as you returned your eyes to the dark, unmoving forest. “I’m not really used to people finding me here.”
“Well, there’s a first time for everything, I guess.” The boy returned awkwardly, sitting next to you in an uncertain manner.
Usually, if Percy ran into someone crying, he would have pretended not to notice and walked away. But for whatever reason, and he couldn’t tell you why, he sat next to you that night; thus beginning a year-long friendship.
“What’cha thinkin’ about, fish face?” Your voice resonated in his head, pulling him away from the wistful memory.
“The day we met, when I should’ve been at my first bonfire.” He chuckled, looking at you with that cheeky grin, “I actually think about it a lot.”
“Woah there partner, you may start thinking we’re really friends.” You teased, giving him a light push as you gathered your last berries. The boy chuckled half-heartedly, not knowing why the words made him feel so off. Somewhat confused, he followed behind you with his own basket, coming to a stop as you sat under a great oak tree. “But…I guess I think about it too.”
He journeyed toward you, carefully putting his basket next to yours before settling at your side. “Oh? And here I thought we were pretending to be friends.” Percy tried to joke, nudging you gently.
“Yeah,” You sighed, “But you know, you really are a good friend Percy. I’m glad you found me in the forest that day.”
Percy’s heart pounded harder in his chest, stunning him with a sense of alarm. You looked at him with that gentle smile, and he felt light as air, staring back at you like the world was anew. A new feeling, unfamiliar and odd, wracked his body like a thousand waves. “Yeah…Yeah, I’m glad too.” He breathed, just above a whisper.
You raised a brow at his change in nature, shaking your head with a light chuckle.
Percy Jackson, you thought.
What a weird kid.

Percy would definitely be the little shit kid who terrifies the poor lifeguards cause he’s just hanging out at the bottom of the pool and the lifegaurd missed him drowning and oh god a kid just died on their watch-
And the child is fine. Fully fine and laughing. Claims he can breathe underwater.
Alternatively, the college kid lifeguards who don’t give a shit (tm) telling kids that the bottom of the pool smells like strawberries just to watch kids accidentally inhale water (apparently my mom and her friends did this working at the city pools) and Percy is about to throw a wrench in their whole bit

okay but demigods being scary in general because they’re literally half god is just *chef’s kiss*
like, sure some demigods are just naturally like that like percy or annabeth and they’re just intimidating in general.
but give me demigods who fade into the background at CHB who may not seem like much start commanding an entire room and everyone just immediately listening. who can give a glare cold as ice. who makes crowds split before them as they walk.
and they don’t think they’re doing anything because back at camp there are more powerful people who could do even more. but to mortals? they don’t know how, but that person should not be messed with.
they’ve all fought/could fight the same monsters and live, just because they’re not the best doesn’t mean that they’re not powerful too.

Finding the "Athena's kids aren't born from a normal gestation/birth process" interesting rn bc like... are the kids of the other goddesses born "normally"?????? Like I always just imagined Aphrodite being pregnant and giving birth to her kids but also it feels kind of insane right? Or is it like when Mr D was under the rocks in tlo and a part of his consciousness (or whatever) was at the party to talk to Percy? So like one version of themselves could go off and be pregnant and give birth and not impact the "rest" of her? I didn't ever imagine them being pregnant for the whole nine months but I guess if that were true it wouldn't even matter? Or maybe they don't do that and actually they just go ahead and create their own kids just like Athena but nobody mentions it???
I feel like this sort of goes with how I guess I always imagined since it sounds like there are very very few kids who stay on camp year-round (basically Annabeth, Luke, and Clarisse? I can't remember anyone else getting mentioned in the original books) that the mortal parents of most demigods probably expected to have the kids (unlike Frederick Chase seems to be depicted)--so like the fathers of Demeter and Aphrodite kids probably knew they'd gotten the goddess pregnant at least? (I am thinking here about Athena being a maiden goddess and the others not being that, so therefore like.. having sex versus Athena's asexual reproduction.) Maybe the pregnant part of the goddess lives with them for nine months, or maybe they just like get told to expect a kid, but I feel like this would be important to their acceptance of said kid? (I do feel like this is where Athena went wrong with Mr Chase in many ways)
Also like how long does it take Athena to mind-create her kids? I feel like it would be reasonable for it to be at least as long as the other goddesses' gestation periods, but I also always imagined it as being basically overnight.

Hello, in the game it was written that a half-blood takes the most powerful attributes between their two parents. What attributes did MC take from both races?
Mc is a semi-elf. As a result, their senses are similar to those of pure elves in terms of power, but without matching them. They can sweat like humans where elves cannot. Mc's skin is more sensitive to shock and blow.
Their lifespan will be longer than that of a human or a Tear, without exceeding that of an elf.
They're beautiful.

so I was doing some math (bad idea) because I was wondering how many campers have been in Camp Half-Blood, specifically wondering how many Chiron has seen come, be trained, and then die. Here's my numbers:
Riordian Wiki says CHB has been around for about 3,000 years. Now, a lot of these numbers are washy, but we're going to assume this is the case. The same wiki posits that halfbloods often don't live past their twenties, and most die as teenagers. For this, I'm going to be generous.
Let's say that exactly every 20 years, a new camper comes to CHB at age 0 and lives until age 20. At that rate, Chiron would have mentored 150 campers over the last 3,000 years (3000/20 = 150). Already a tragic number.
But there isn't just one camper at CHB. These are where the numbers get really rough-- I couldn't find any source about the number of campers when Percy arrives in TLT, so I found the number post-Luke's betrayal estimated at around 75. This is said to be much lower than usual for several reasons, but I'm going to lowball and say there's about 100 campers at a time (again, probably many more).
Now the math is up to 15,000 campers. Fifteen thousand!
This is, somehow, probably still a very low estimate. This is assuming campers spend all 20 years at camp, they all live to be 20, and the rate of campers stays roughly the same over time. If we work with halfbloods being discovered at 13 and dying at 18, for example, that's SIXTY THOUSAND, four times our lowball amount. Even ages 10 to 20 gives us thirty thousand.
That's roughly a low of 15,000 campers and a high of 60,000 that Chiron has seen die! It's a wonder the man is still sane!

Welcome back as we continue our dive into the myths and legends that inspired ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians.’ This week we continue where we left off, at the start of Episode Three, which picks up shortly after Percy Jackson learns that he is the half-mortal son of the Greek god, Poseidon.
As a child of Poseidon, Percy in in varied company. His siblings include giants, nymphs, gods, animals and of course other demigods, one of whom we actually talked about last week – Theseus, the original slayer of the Minotaur. Sadly, not all of Percy’s half-blood siblings were so heroic and one, Procrustes, will be showing up in a later episode. Far less noble than Theseus, Procrustes was a thief and murderer, forcing people to lay on his iron bed, which he would then forcibly fit them too – breaking and stretching bones if they were too small, and cutting off the excess if they were too large. In the book, Percy followed in Theseus’ footsteps once again, using his older half-brother’s method of dealing with… his other older half-brother. He tricked Procrustes into lying on his own bed and treated him just he had treated all his victims.

Harry Potter Blood Status
So I was thinking, how many generations would it take for a Muggle-born's bloodline to become pureblood?
Take the Potter's for example (Lily, James, Harry, etc) We know that Harry is Half-Blood due to lily being Muggle-born and James being Pure-Blood, would Harry and Ginny's Children be Pure-Blood, or would they be Half-Blood? And if they are half-blood, how many more generations of Magic-borns would it take for Lily's Bloodline to become Pure-Bloods? (Hypothetically if there just so happened to be no muggle-borns married into the family)

I really enjoyed this book. This is my first time truly reading it, I will admit I e started and stopped a few times but never got past maybe chapter two. This time thanks to an amazing friend on discord who is reading them with me I had the ability to keep going. I think I would have been captured by the story a lot quicker and harder had i been the intended audience age - that said I did read 70% and stay up til two am the first night. I can’t wait to see more of the world and people and see who I love and hate has the stories grow. Five stars ✨ all around.

Greetings mutual of mine, tis I, completing my duties as a mutual to randomly send you questions :D
If Aliza was a demigod, what would her godly parent, personality, and backstory be like??
*ahem ahem* let's get all islamic :)
sooooo, aliza would not be a demigod because in islam we believe in only one god and that he has no children or partners. in turn, aliza cannot be muslim and a demigod.
however, i actually recently came up with some more lore! she sneaks into the forbidden cities and buys human books, so she's a pjo fan. and for fun she takes a which cabin are you in buzzfeed quiz and gets aphrodite :)
(she cares about her looks but she's kinda like piper too - sweet but ready to fight if you mess with her)
and i'm pretty sure my explanation of why aliza can't be a demigod will remind some of y'all of samirah al abbas, so here's a link to learn more :) https://kaatibawrites.medium.com/samirah-al-abbas-when-no-representation-is-better-than-bad-representation-8ac1a44ccc70
in short, aliza would not be a half-blood, but would be a pjo fan!
