Hebrews 11:1-7 (NASB). “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; AND HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM UP; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God. And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.”
“Trust in God” By In Touch Ministries:
“Faith lets us lose our fear and trust God for the impossible.”
“Faith isn’t a passive belief. It’s an active confidence that stirs within our soul—an unwavering trust in God’s promises and a firm conviction about His trustworthiness. When we’re surrounded by uncertainty, our faith guides us and illuminates the path.
Verse 1 of today’s passage says, “Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, a proof of things not seen.” Those words can be viewed as an encouraging invitation to dwell in trust, which steadies the heart and anchors the soul. They’re also a reminder that our hope rests in a loving and sovereign God.
In times of trials and challenges, faith becomes our refuge, whispering, “Don’t be afraid, for God is with you.” It motivates us to step out in obedience, even if doing so seems impossible. And it empowers us to face adversity with courage, knowing that God is working all things together for our good.
The Lord calls us to walk by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7) and surrender our doubts and fears to Him. He wants us to believe His promises, even when circumstances seem bleak; trusting in Him lets us see beyond the visible to the eternal. Then we will find strength, peace, and the presence of our loving God guiding us every step of the way.”

Look In the Mirror. If You See a Judge, It's Time for a New Look
Jesus must have been pretty familiar with Obadiah, since many of his statements about being judgmental resonate pretty strongly with this short prophetic word. (In fact, Jesus seemed pretty familiar with ALL of the Old Testament, but that’s a whole ‘nother blog!) One of the things Obadiah said could be paraphrased like this: Take a hard look in the Mirror: if you see a judge looking back at you,…

Can Acts 1:9-11 and Jesus' coming on the clouds In Like Manner be interpreted from a preterist perspective. Preterism is logical and makes sense. Christ's coming is clearly aligned with the Fall of the Temple in 70AD. This message brings this prophetic series on Christ's second appearing to a close for now. Bible prophecy, the last days and the temple are major themes of Bible Apocalyptic teachings.

style parenting headcanons NOW 🫵
UGAAGH I LOVE THE DOMESTIC STANKY, THEY ARE SO CUTE!!!!
I'm not much for really thinking or sharing my headcanons but here's a few!!!
1. Kyle is called Abba (father/dad in Hebrew) while Stan is called daddy
2. Stan dominates himself and thinks he is the "fun dad" of the two, simply because he is less strict than Kyle on certain things (like allowing the kids to buy the occasional snack or candy when they go shopping)
3. Kyle does not believe he is strict, he is simply more careful and less clueless than Stan in certain things and certainly has more authority and strength in saying "No" or reprimanding the children for some bad action (Stan does not like to scold much)
4. Stan is quite overprotective and is always terrified that the kids will grow up in the surreal hostility of South Park
5. Stan cried both times he first saw the children, both pictures of Stan with the newborns are of him cradling them and his eyes red with tears, he was just so happy and had so many feelings at the same time
6. Sometimes they are the type of parent that when asked a question both respond "I don't know, ask dad/abba" creating an endless loop
7. Kyle realized that he called the kids "bubbies/bubbalah" most of the time without realizing it
8. Stan's biggest fear about becoming a father was that somehow, he would turn into Randy. That's why he always tries twice as hard to be a good father
9. Stan's soft belly is the best place for naps (for everyone, even Kyle) so everyone sleeps snuggled up to him on the couch and Stan loves it, he’s a family size teddy bear!!
10. They both take turns for cooking and washing dirty dishes, Kyle usually uses cookbooks because he gets better at following specific instructions and Stan simply likes to experiment
11. Stan is quite a handyman! Most things in the house were built by Stan or repaired by him (he only gets a little jealous when Kyle calls for outside professionals)
And not to be #controversial but, boymom Kyle and Girldad Stan, thank you 🙏🏻

... it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed...but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.  1 Peter 1:18-19
The blood of Jesus has power and life.
• The blood of Jesus redeems us.
In Christ we have redemption through His blood (Eph. 1:7), We were once under the rule of the devil,  and it took Jesus’ blood to provide redemption.  Only one thing could redeem sinful humanity so that we might live forever- the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
• Washes our sin and cleanses our consciences. (Hebrews 9:14)
"the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." 1John 1:7
• The blood of Jesus brought peace to us, but with a price — (Col. 1:20).
• We gain access to the presence of God. Hebrews 4:16
• We overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb.  Revelation 12:11
There is wonder working power in the blood of Jesus Christ. Oh! The blood can never ever lose its power.

“But the LORD abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment. And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity. The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble; And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” —Psalm 9:7-10
“Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations; You established the earth, and it stands.” —Psalm 119:90
“‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’” —Jeremiah 29:11
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” —Romans 8:28
“For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.” —Hebrews 4:15
“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” —Psalm 46:1
“God Inspires Our Trust” By In Touch Ministries:
“Our Father in heaven always keeps His promises and never leaves us alone.”
“As far as children can tell, their mom and dad know everything and can do anything. And kids typically don’t question that assumption without reason (for example, if they see a parent mishandle a situation or someone else influences their level of trust). Parents demonstrate reliability by consistently providing shelter, food, and safety—and also by lovingly teaching, comforting, and guiding their sons and daughters. Then the children can sleep in peace, knowing their needs will be met.
Likewise, we know that we can trust our heavenly Father because He has shown Himself trustworthy from the beginning of time. Psalm 119:90 says, “[God’s] faithfulness continues throughout generations.” He has never broken a promise, and His plans for us have always been for our good (Jeremiah 29:11; Romans 8:28). What’s more, God understands our weaknesses and never asks us to do anything that He won’t help us accomplish (Hebrews 4:15; Isaiah 41:10). We can trust that even in the worst situations, He will be with us (Psalm 46:1).
What does trusting God look like in your life this week? Where can you relinquish control to Him?”
[All Bible verses are in the NASB1995 Translation.]

Six Months Since
By Shoshana bat-Yehonatan
A poem for the six (Hebrew) month anniversary of the Simchat Torah Massacre. With thanks to the JPS, Koren, Metsudah, and other translations on Sefaria.org. Footnotes link to sources of quotes. Footnotes connect to sources which will be in reblog, because otherwise it's too long to post.
TW: RAPE
Six months has it been
Since the fields turned red without flowers
Now calaniot bloom where once my darlings danced
But still, my precious ones are gone.
I have no prophets to comfort me
No visions from God [1]
My king remains in exile [2]
How can I sing a song of God on alien soil [3]
In an alien tongue?
Yet I have been too long a stranger in a land not mine[4]—
Two thousand years, to a paltry hundred and twenty—
And I forgotten even how to speak the Holy Tongue
Let alone write in it.
I have neither wit nor words to sing my grief.
And so I turn to those before me
As they turned to those before them
And say,
“God, open my lips, and let my mouth declare my grief.” [5]
Oholiva cries [6]
And Ohola wails [7]
This year was pregnant[8] with a second month of joy
Instead she wails in travails unending
“When will my children return?” [9]
Oh wall of Fair Zion [10]
Shed tears like a river [11]
Cry out in the night and pour your heart out like water [12]
Rachel’s eyes are red as her sister’s [13]
As she weeps over the fate of her children [14]
Six months it has been
Since they ravaged women in Zion [15]
Maidens in the towns of Judea [16]
Since their hands tore my princes apart
No deference shown to elders [17]
On this day six months ago
My infants were taken captive before the enemy [18]
The joy of our hearts was seized
And our dancing turned to mourning [19]
For the youths are gone from their music [20].
Now my eyes shed rivers of water [21]
Over the ruin of my people’s daughter [22]
Bitterly I weep in the night [23]
My cheeks wet with tears [24]
There is none to comfort me: my friends have betrayed me [25]
I cry:
Behold my agony! [26]
My priests and my elders have perished in the city [27]
The elders strewn like dust on the ground [28]
Those whom I dandled and reared my foe has consumed [29]
“This is the day we hoped for! We have found it, we have seen it!” [30]
My maidens and youths have gone into captivity! [31]
“It is your doing.” [32]
Blood on her legs, her nakedness seen, [33]
Zion reaches out for comfort [34]--
“Away! Unclean!” [35]
She can only shrink back and sigh [36]
“May it never befall you.” [37]
The nations have resolved “They shall stay here no longer” [38]
We wander and wander [39]
But where are we to go?
How can I bear to see the destruction of my kindred? [40]
“My life as my wish, my people as my request,” [41]
I begged my Husband [42]
“For we have been targeted, my people and I, to be destroyed, massacred, and exterminated.” [43]
But the King turned His face from me.
My dear ones were purer than snow [44]
Ruddier than rubies or coral [45]
Their bodies lovely as sapphire [46]
Now their faces are darkened with ash [47]
Unrecognizable amid the ruin of the streets [48]
See, God, and behold to whom You have done this! [49]
Look at me, answer me, Oh God! [50]
How long will You hide Your face from me? [51]
I have no prophets now to comfort me
And must take my comfort from those before:
You promised “God will restore your captives.” [52]
Return them, God, and let them come back [53]
Renew our days as of old. [54]

The Riches of Inheritance are Not Diminished by Adoption
The Riches of Inheritance are Not Diminished by Adoption
If I could write a really awesome prayer for you, it might go something like this: “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope to which he [God] has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from…
