Just gonna leave this here…don’t mind me:
A sun and moon AU where you are out on a ship enjoying your holiday and the sights before everything starts going wrong and the large ship filled with other people has taken damage and starts sinking. Chaos ensues and you rush to get to an emergency raft to get to safety and end up being on your own as many of the people and sailors are in the water, on their own raft drifting away or have been whisked away by the flooding water in the cabins (and wherever else the water came rushing from). You are left stranded with no hope, food or water and all is lost as you are out in the ocean for a day or two. Suddenly you see yourself beached on some sand on a large deserted island. You decided to make your home here on the island and plan to find a way home. Sometimes while near the water on the island you can’t help but feel like you have eyes on you, same can be said on land whenever you wander into the forest. Surely there’s nothing to worry about, right? But you find it strange that you happen to come across these “lucky” finds near you small shelter. Imagine the surprise when you come face to face with Siren/Mer sun and moon while attempting to catch some fish for yourself (after refusing the suspicions findings near your home) you quickly run away in fear of their razor sharp claws and teeth that could rip into your flesh in an instant. You may think you are safe but they have other ways. THEY HAVE LAND FORMS (let your mind go wild. Personally I believe they could be Nagas to better suit the forest side of the island and what not)
Don’t mind this at all :p
Definitely haven’t got more ideas….*sweats profusely*
Okay, okay, listen to me, this is very good.
I could perfectly see Sun and Moon being shape shifters, I'm a total weirdo with everything related to the sea, one of my favorite cases is a man named Isidoro Arias who decided to go around the world in a boat and made daily calls to his family. The man said that there were strange humanoid beings trying to get on his vote, until the man stopped answering his family's calls and when they reported it they only found the boat empty, with no signs of a struggle (There is more than one story of humanoid beings at sea, but that is my favorite). Imagine it's those strange things that sank the reader's boat. And Sun and Moon are VERY similar to those beings, so the reader is just afraid that they will come to finish what they started. Imagine that all this happens in the Devil's Sea, or also known as the Bermuda Triangle.
The reader, you're terrified of those things, you're terrified of what's in the sea, so you really have a conflict most of the time, those things are there, in the sea, you have no chance against those things. But you can't just wait on the island either, you have no idea how long it will be before someone comes to rescue you, you don't know if they are even looking for you.
Just imagine the horror when you are settling on the island, and those things are there, on the edge of the beach, calling out to you. You don't hesitate to run. And they crawl along the ground, like damn snakes.
Thinking about their design, I can see them as shape-shifters, or just mermaids with very long tails, practically leviathanes, but there are no fish fins, rather there are just little ridges that help them like eels, they are slippery in the sea and their scales are more noticeable on land. Like mermaids they breathe in the sea and on land, but they can move on both sides without problems. Moon likes cold places, but Sun likes warm places, they both share a love for wet places and therefore spend most of their time in the sea.
Sun and Moon are just curious about the strange two-legged thing that came to their territory, watching from afar so as not to scare you, of course, there is a little language barrier there for a while but they decide you are not a threat and want to get to know you. Of course it's not that easy if you run whenever you see them and shake like a leaf, it's a little difficult because they don't want to hurt you and you all don't understand each other.
In the end they end up tolerating each other, neither attacked the other, they get closer little by little and Sun and Moon can start talking to you when they understand the language, of course, there is much more to explore like the things that attacked you and that you are not going to stay here, with them, you are probably developing marine madness, you don't know exactly how to survive and oh god, maybe you fell in love with two strange beings and they fell in love with you.
If you have more ideas I'd like to hear them, this looks like fun.

i feel like a lot of the 'i hate kids' crowd would be more tolerant if they understood that due to a kid's limited experience of the world that 4 hour flight might just be the longest they've ever had to sit still for or that trapped finger might literally be the most pain they've ever felt in their short life or they might not have ever seen a person with pink hair ever so of course they want to touch it or nobody's told them yet that they can't run around the museum and they only just learned cheetahs are the fastest animals so of course they want to put that to the test. how were they supposed to know etc etc.

i think we should remind musicians they can absolutely make up little stories for their songs btw. it doesn’t have to be about them at all. you can invent a guy and put him in situations to music. time honoured tradition in fact.

I need non autistic people to realise meltdowns are a real debilitating thing that has a serious effect on your mental and physical health NOWWWWW!!! The way its been trivialized and lessened pisses me the fuck off. It's not a tantrum and it doesn't come from "being too weak-willed" it's painful and it's embarrassing AND MOST OF ALL IT'S INVOLUNTARY!! Don't claim to be an ally to autistic or disabled people and then make fun of people who have meltdowns. Literally get the hell out of my sight

academic bias is so funny because you’ll be reading about the same historical event and one person is like “Despite the troubles that befell his homeland and near constant criticism of the court King Blorbo remained strong in the face of adversity” and the other one is like “after letting his people carry the brunt of his cringefail decisions Blorbo the Shitface refused to listen to any reason and continued to be a warmongering piece of shit. Also he was ugly.”

Crocodile finds a strange stray cat an 11-year old Nico Robin (AU where they met 13 years earlier. Robin's been on the run from the World Government for 3 years. Crocodile's 27 and has not set up base in Alabasta yet)
It seems like I have become possessed. By some sort of demon.

also worth noting that "abusive" doesn't actually mean "irredeemable" either.
there's a lot of people that have done things in the past that were bad, because they weren't taught any better, or they were in an overall toxic situation where EVERYONE was shitty (like a cult), or they were just at an especially low point and hurt others for it.
you don't have to forgive them. you don't have to ever speak to them again. you can be angry with them until you die if you want.
but society cannot function if we don't allow them to move on. to change their behavior and fuck off somewhere else and build meaningful relationships without bothering you again. we need a path for people to change, or nothing ever will.
