I would like to talk about the Music Festival arc - aka my favorite Mairuma arc until now. I love them all tbh, this is just very close to my heart for several reasons. [cw: non-suggestive discussion of s*x; if you are a s*x-repulsed asexual person you are very much welcome to interact, but this may not be the post for you, take care and proceed with caution ♡ edit: I'm uncensoring the words from here onwards thanks to a kind anon's suggestion] To make it short, I love that the main theme of this arc is pleasure, and the desire for it. Honestly, it's very horny - but not in a slimy or creepy way, which is sadly quite rare in my experience. The appreciation for pleasure coming from love (also platonic love) is there in several layers. First, the plot itself, as Lilith cries out her desire to find "a love that burns like fire". She is not satisfied by most pretenders, and especially this frame spoke to me:

Because... Well... It's so true. I am an adult, and I had my share of sexual partners. The expressions people make irl are not always aesthetically pleasing, but who cares! We are told to strive to be always attractive, but in those moments of intimacy it's really not important, not as much as being fully present and enjoying the moment! Then, can we talk about Kalego please?

I mean, Nishi here went all out and didn't even try to hide her fascination for ...discipline:

(and to be fully clear: I am NOT implying there is sexual tension between Kalego and his students, I am only referring to him!!!) When I saw the whip I couldn't believe my eyes. Of course in that context it's not used that way, but it's very much recognizable as an adult tool... But more on this later. Finally, I really like that the Misfits are growing up and finding out new things about themselves. They are characterized as high school students (even if we don't know how old they actually are), which is when humans tend to have their first experiences and explore their sexualities. They are building together this beautiful show full of emotions and desire, and honestly performing with other people is really an amazing feeling (I am a former musician and theater actor - let me tell you, every performance was fire). They are shocked, but happy! And definitely feeling ...feelings. And here is my main takeaway: I am really, really sad that sex is a taboo topic in our society, and when there's something about sex, it's mostly treated in a very bad way. This includes sex scenes in generic-audience movies, which I tend to dislike... I hate that sex is handled like a dirty and secret thing. I hate that sex is mostly treated as something that has to do with power imbalance and taking advantage of someone else, usually men that "want to do stuff TO" women (nonbinary individuals like myself not found) - and too often not in a hot and consensual way. I hate that social media are becoming more and more sex-hostile, because investors fear these topics, and use children as a shield to justify limiting contents for adults as well. I hate that sexual education is mainly reserved for talking about pregnancies and, if the students are lucky, prevention of STDs. Solo or reciprocal pleasure? Consent? Treating it as a normal part of life for many people (and not ALL, again, asexual people exist)??? Naaaah, why do that, when you can make people feel shame and embarassment and perpetuate trauma. Again, I am a grown-up now, and while this is legal and everything, I was conditioned to feel some level of shame nonetheless when talking about it irl (which I am working on). The whip I was writing about before (and the kneeling scene afterward)? It was a revolution in my brain. "So... That's a thing we can do...?"

(like that) I plan on doing some adult drawings in the future, but there's a part of me that resists the idea, because adult entertainment usually involves some level of dehumanization... But you know what? I want to take it back and make it about pleasure and enjoyment as it should be. Tbh, I could write a whole essay on the causes for all of the above and how they interact (patriarchy, capitalism, religions as power institutions, etc.), but this is not the place. So I'll just say that I am really, really grateful to Nishi for including this arc in a manga for a young audience, as those are important years to build a healthy relationship with pleasure and one's own body. And as Sullivan said...

I'm very much convinced that Nishi is doing a great job at sending messages for inclusion and social equality in M!IK, taking the role of educator herself. (Other reasons why I love the Music Festival arc are: Soi's story, Clara and Azz becoming closer, Iruma learning the piano, the appreciation of music itself, the immaculate art and more, but that's for another post!!!)

Platonic/Romantic - tbh idk? Depends on how u take it :^

Let's start off with the fact, that they all know know that they're not exactly their original counterparts

Yes, they are vocaloids, but..different? They're in game, nothing new for Miku- but it seems like it's their first time being alive. They know it's their voice, their songs but it just..feels weird?

- though this mostly applies to Miku, as she's the first one to greet us and has her..original form?

She knows it's her, but different her.

- I wanna say that I see all sekai vocaloids as different people, BECAUSE during April fools, THEY MET EACH OTHER and uhm- I'd recommend watching that video to understand what happened. They kinda became friends, and 25ji Rin liked wxs Kaito's (or what Kaito that was?) head pats. She was waiting for her Kaito to arrive.

SO that means they are ALL different.

Now, that we finally sorted out what was important, we can finally make some content

Hatsune Miku(s)!

The Miku that greets us:

She knows she is Miku, but she doesn't have knowledge of stuff outside the game. She is a sekai keeper, and keeps hopes and dreams of every vocaloid producer. But...She is unsure if this true. Some stuff happened before she even existed! (Games existence)

So she knows she isn't exactly the first Miku. But Miku anyways.

She was staying there all alone, for so long.. (game downloading)

Yes, she loved watching over sekais, but..it's not like she has anyone..

So when she first meets you! She is so excited to make a friend! She says you're a sekai watcher like her, because you two "sang" (aka you playing tutorial)

Whether you played bad or good didn't matter. She liked it.

She didn't wanna lose you, but it's not like you're leaving her. Your presence is always near her when you play and read stories/events.

She doesn't see you often, unless you're pulling for characters or there's an event/sth she needs to explain to you.

She's such a little tease, not giving you card you want if she knows you have more pulls. Don't worry, she will give you it, but just pull one/few more times please.. she doesn't want to be alone anymore.

First though when she met you: I am not alone anymore?

Sekai Mikus

As long as you won't harm others she's fine!

She is very cautious when it comes to [band's name]. They're her 1st priority.

At first she thought you are just there to watch over them, but she noticed you actually help them improve (I hc that by playing their songs, decorating sekai, grooving their cards and kizuna level you can make them better and improve them)

Aww, thank you so much! You are a great help!

Overtime all vocaloids became kinda obsessive over you? They want you to play their band's songs and care mostly, if not ONLY about them and their band! Yes, they're grateful you helped them improve, but they will bring you into their world, and you will make it real. Not just a game, but a R E A L, LIVING WOLRD. NO NPCS, NO GAME CODE

Until then, everyone is just a piece of cra- I mean, code. Your word also seems so dangerous... that's why they need to protect you from world's harm!

Not gonna lie, EVERY other vocaloid acts this way, so I'll end it here, sorry ^^; (Maybe I will make a part 2?)

AGAIN, ENGLISH MAY BE MY FIRST LANGUAGE BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT IM GOOD AT IT(AGAIN, JUST MAKE THIS CLEAR, I AM INDEED A NO SABO KID🥴)

over time, you and miguel had.. unexpectedly started to bond more and more, which surprised a lot of spiders. the two of you were both equally closed off, but even then miguel had interacted with more spider people than you had. since your arrival, miguel had been the only spider person you had interacted with due to your mistrust.

most of the spiders had decided to simply not acknowledge your new friendship with miguel..simply because miguel had scared them off for you.

with you and miguel forming a new bond, he started to notice something about you..

while you enjoyed all types of cooking and baking, you never really ate much. miguel had chosen not to acknowledge it because he thought you just had a smaller appetite than most spiders, and he also thought his judgement was just clouded due to the fact that he had to eat more than most spiders did.

maybe your portions just looked small because of his size? he glazed over the thought, but it didn't make much sense, he ignored until..

your eating habits became worse, he had now come to the realization when he decided to treat you to a hamburger and you only ate a couple of fries..days later he noticed that when you had cooked something for the rest of the spiders, you hadn't plated any food for yourself. he felt a heavy pang in his heart, he knew the signs, because he would often neglet his humger needs due to his work.

when he brought up his concern that you were not giving yourself food you simply pulled out your cards, flipping to a card that said "no" and another that said "hungry". (A/N-i refuse to believe that reader would have "not" on their card bc "no" is way more conventional so pls dont come at more for this)

miguel heavily sighed, if course he didn't believe you, he could see the fear and sadness in your eyes. when he saw that look, he knew he had to do something.

a couple days had passed and you had stopped cooking and baking all together. you were simply just sitting on a couch that was placed in the HQ living quarters for everyone to use when suddenly you saw a large figure in your peripheral vision. you instantly knew that it was miguel. (A/N: MANS LITERALLY WEARS HIS SUIT EVERYWHERE OK?😭)

once he was in front of you, you decided to look up to him, furrowing your eyebrows to indicate your confusion. he wore an expression that you still were not used to identifying.

sympathy.

he pinched the brige of his nose, this was going to be harder than he thought, "we have to talk, mijo".

you pulled out your phone, getting your acc app ready incase if you need to respond to whatever he was about to announce. trying to do so calmly, as to not make him worry.

you gave him a nod, as to let him know that you were listening. he moved in order to sit next to you on the couch, his weight making a significant shift on the cushions.

"i need you to look at me alright? you don't even have to give me eye contact" he didn't want to pressure you, because he knew how much stress eye contact gave you at times.

you looked in his direction and tilted your body towards him.

he took another deep breath in and out before saying, "i noticed that you've been.. eating less, i mean, eating less than you usually eat.." he trailed off, he had to think carefully about his next words.

as soon as he said this, you looked away with a pained expression on your face.

he touched your cheek, and you flinched at the movement. "hey, none of that alright? i just want to make sure that everything is fine, mijo. has there been something on your mind recently?" he removed his hand from your cheek, wanting you to be able to fully process everything.

you let out a sigh and clicked one of the words you had preset on your app. "family" the robot voice spoke.

miguel nodded, although he hadn't seen everything that had happened he knew that overall, it wasnt the best situation. there was a pause before the robot voice began to speak again.

"food. bad" miguel's heart broke, and his strong stature had softened. he wanted to hug you, but he wasn't sure if he was overstepping your boundaries.

he carefully thought over his words before speaking, "never let anyone ever tell you that good is bad for you, alright mijo? it gives you strength, and helps you live" he looked right at you, making sure you digested every word he had said. he could see you blinking tears away, but they just continued flowing.

abruptly, you began to hug him. miguel was caught by surprise at this, as you buried your head into his chest. he awkwardly patted you on the back.

"from now on, i'll help you out" he stated. he felt you nod your head in agreement, head still buried in his chest.

from then on miguel made sure to coach you during mealtimes, giving you praise when you started to eat normal portions. (a/n hes channeling his inner sport mom vibes🥰). with miguels help, you started to feel more comfortable treating yourself to small treats, and even eating infront of people without caring what they thought about you.

at this moment you realized that, miguel might be your true family.

love, as we all know, in aot is tragic. this quote is literally me seeing any hints at love from isayama, because i know its going to end in disaster and sadness. but ymir and historia really hit me because ymir wanted to love so much and so selfishly, but in the end she willingly sacrificed herself, selflessly loving historia. ahhh its just sad and it makes me sad and this quote is sad and the whole book really is sad tbh.

“For you, a thousand times over” – Eren

this is such an eren quote because to save his friends he seriously would go through all the pain and suffering a thousand times over if it means his friends can smile for a day longer and love for a day more.

“It may be unfair, but what happens in a few days, sometimes even a single day, can change the course of a whole lifetime…” – Hange

hange, for me, is one of the most perceptive and understanding characters in aot. they know a whole deal more than they show and i feel like they're stuck in this circle on inevitability and no matter how hard they try to get out of it, they can't because of eren. it's like they went from the fear of the certainty of death to the fear of the uncertainty of life. like will there be anything left to save.

jean was a bit annoying when he was younger but he grew into a really admirable and loyal young man. honestly he glew up, appearance wise and personality wise. he truly is a man of his words which is why this reminds me of him, he's honourable.

“It always hurts more to have and lose than to not have in the first place” – Levi

he's lost so many people. like so so many. he outlives all of his commanders, his squad members, his fucking eren. not in that way, as in he lost eren because he loved eren platonically, not romantically i don't do that shit, sorry. levi's lived such a tragic life, but I don't think he regrets having loved. after all its better to have loved and lost than not have loved at all.

“There are a lot of children in Afghanistan, but little childhood.” – Everyone in AOT

literally saw people being eaten alive and murdered while they were 12 years old. all the characters in aot (aside from jean lmaoo) had a tragic and traumatic childhood. this quote reigns true for all of them.

“It was only a smile, nothing more. It didn't make everything all right. It didn't make ANYTHING all right. Only a smile. A tiny thing. A leaf in the woods, shaking in the wake of a startled bird's flight. But I'll take it. With open arms. reminds me of when hange and levi were in the woods together and they said that they wanted to just hide away and live in the forest together forever and just be together and it makes me sad thinking about it and fuck I'm crying now

ayo this is erwin's motto frr. man stripped himself of all his morals and all his conscience for the sake of humanity and his own selfish desires. an inspiration to all.

levi finds himself forgetting the faces of his squad members and friends. whenever he closes his eyes all he sees is the mangled, rotting faces of his friends and he's struggling to remember, did hange wear an eyepatch on their left eye, or their right one?

jean in that one episode just crouching holding onto his ears and just wishing to be anywhere but there. he knew he was going to die and he knew everyone else was going to die but he still got up and fought as hard as he could. honestly jean is so underrated in terms of characterisation and relatability. he's deserves mind blowing head and ill give it to him 🤪

“Better to get hurt by the truth than comforted with a lie.” – Sasha

you lie to sasha, -100000 social credit. that is a big no no. she deserves the truth and nothing but the truth and i love her sm.

something mr yeager would say. not the marley grisha, the paradis one. the marley one would've been like THIS IS SPARTAAA, but the paradis ones like yk what, these walls are quite nice yk, let's just umi da this one out.

if only sis spoke up and said something, cabin eren and mikasa might've been the ending. also i headcanon that mika was pregnant during their little cabin fantasy because why else would she be worn out or tired? sis is a million times stronger than eren and chopping bits of wood or fishing would not have tired her out, so im chosing to believe she was pregnant. and thats honestly more painful icl.

eren and his fixed mindset and the way he does whatever he wants with little to no explanation 🙄, gosh, what is he like 🙄. anyways, literally everyone's feelings towards eren, you can't love him without fearing what he's gonna do, and even hating the little git for burdening himself with saving his friends.

“And this is what I want you to understand, that good, real good, was born out of your father's remorse.” – Zeke

zeke just wanting to have a little brother to love and to cherish ;-;

“It's wrong to hurt even bad people. Because they don't know any better, and because bad people sometimes become good.” – Falco

falco is all the good things in the world just smooshed into one adorable little child that i absolutely love so much and i am so grateful for his existence. and for colts, colt is bloody beautiful, i love him. the grice family are the best things to happen to aot.

“I wished I could be alone in my room, with my books, away from these people.” – Armin

my guy needs a like 6 years off and need to rest and just chill and just read books and see the ocean (i don't think he'll ever see the ocean the same way ever again tbh, but still) and just get good head and just sleep.

“A part of me was hoping someone would wake up and hear, so I wouldn't have to live with this lie anymore.” – Connie

connie is single handedly one of the strongest characters, obviously. the way he suffered in silence for all this time, and yes what he did was incredibly stupid, but can you really blame the poor dude.

“I loved him in that moment, loved him more than I'd ever loved anyone, and I wanted to tell them all that I was the snake in the grass, the monster in the lake.” – Erwin/Eren

erwin in his dying moment to levi, sorry not sorry but im a huge levi and erwin shipper. its lowkey erwins fault and both levi and erwin know that but still, he can't help but love him more than he's ever loved before.

season 4 eren trying to make mikasa hate him. its so painful hearing him say he's always hated her when literally everyone knows it's not true and he's just a silly fucking goose for that one.

“I think he loved us equally, but differently.” – Zeke

no explanation needed. grisha loved both his sons, but also didn't at the same time. it's weird. he loved zeke so much but at the same time he lost sight of his son and ended up painfully losing him. the same way he loved eren so much, only for eren to become the son grisha always wanted zeke to be, except he didn't want an ideal zeke. idk zeke's hot and id do anything to suck his left toe.

“Awake. And alone with demons of my own.” – Annie

reminds me of annie being stuck and encased in glass, hearing about everything that's going on through armin and just being left alone to battle her thoughts. she physically cannot move and is alone with nothing but her mind, and the mind is a dangerous place to get lost and stuck in.

“Nothing wrong with cowardice as long as it comes with prudence.” – Historia

historia is perfect for this, don't ask questions

“I pray. I pray that my sins have not caught up with me the way I'd always feared they would.” – Reiner

reiner is one of those characters you can't really blame for his actions. well, you can, but you just can't. seeing his backstory and his motivations behind his actions it humanises him and adds so much more to his character. its a shame isayama had to ruin in with the last chapter, jk ily isayama bae

“Perspective was a luxury when your head was constantly buzzing with a swarm of demons.” – Armin

a lot of pressure is placed onto armin in the last couple of chapters of aot and i really and truly feel for him. after watching hange essentially commit suicide and then watching his close friend decapitate his childhood friend who he found out was doing everything, not because he didn't care or didn't love his friends, but because he loved too much. shits heavy yk. poor armin.

“Children aren't colouring books. You don't get to fill them with your favourite colours.” – Gabi

i believe this highlights the indoctrination those in both marley and paradis went through. the government coloured in these children with whatever they wanted and created these almost brainwashed soldiers. and gabi's stubborness and refusal to change her mind truly exemplifies that.

the beginnings of a love story in three parts.

it starts in the summer, with you lounging on a deck chair, eating candy that turns your tongue blue. you’re wearing shorts and a tanktop, in one of your friends’ big backyard, watching them scream and laugh in the pool. the sun feels like hell on your bare skin but the laughter is infectious and you’re laughing with them. never mind that it’s your last year of senior high school and that after this, you may never see half of these kids again. there is only the here, the now, and it’s brighter than you’ve ever felt for most of your life.

he comes over, a wide smile on his tan face and pool water dripping off his hair. his fingers move deftly to flick water at you, laughing as he dries his hands and picks up his phone. despite flipping him off, you note his good mood - it’s a rare sight to see him play around so childishly like this. you find that you quite like it.

“done with swimming?” you ask. he nods, eyes on his phone. the first few beats of some hip hop song that you don’t recognise starts playing from its speakers.

“my fingers look like prunes,” he groans as he puts down his phone and splays out his fingers at you childishly. you scrunch your face up at him in return. “plus they want to go eat pizza after this, and hanamaki is gonna take years to shower so i wanted to get a headstart.”

“we’re eating pizza after?” you roll your eyes. “damn these kids and their big appetites.”

“you’re not hungry, because you’ve been eating so much candy,” he wrinkles his nose at the packet of pop rocks in your hand. “that’s not good for you, y’know?”

there’s a pause, him staring at you and you staring at him - time in a frozen state - before you sigh and motion for his hand. “if you wanted some, you could’ve just asked.”

iwaizumi grins as you pour some on his hand. his smile gleams bright against his skin. “thank you.”

he throws them into his mouth as he runs off to take a shower, and you feel a smile curve your lips. it’s odd. your boyfriend isn’t here - he’s opted to train today, even though it’s probably the last time all of you will ever be close together like this - but you can feel your heart skipping the way it does when you’re with him.

ii.

you and oikawa started dating at the beginning of your third year.

it was bound to happen eventually; at least, that’s what most of your friends told you so. you have always been friends with tooru and iwa and, when you reached high school, makki and mattsun. tooru was always the popular one, iwa was the reliable one and you were the calm one. a package deal - girls, students in general, who were interested in oikawa and were too intimidated to approach iwa would come to you. frankly, you didn’t mind. everyone had had a crush on oikawa at least once, and it wasn’t like you were any different when you were younger.

what you didn’t expect was for him to confess to you in your second year. it’s burned in the back of your memory: under the shade of one of the staircases near the gym, in the middle of your lunch break, tooru’s face reddening in embarrassment. you said yes, because you’ve always found him funny and cute and attractive in all the ways more than physical and wasn’t that enough to make a good relationship?

apparently not, since it’s been several months since you last had a proper conversation with him.

he’s in the gym again today, still training by himself, even though he’s already graduated. he’s going to go overseas, to continue his volleyball training in another team. you know this because that was what he told you the last time you two had a proper conversation. good luck, you said to him because you know that volleyball meant that much to him. never mind that he always, always, always put the sport before you, because even though he was your boyfriend, he was also one of your best friends and that meant supporting his dreams. you’re going to be amazing.

you can hear the squeak of volleyball shoes on hard floor, the thwack of ball against flesh, as you approach the gym doors. he’s there - alone, because school’s out for the end-of-term holidays - and he doesn’t immediately notice you standing there. his eyes are too focused on the ball as he sets to himself. he’s always too focused on the ball.

when he does see you there, he lets the ball drop and give you a smile. “hey y/n. what are you doing here?”

seeing his happy face chips at some of your initial confidence and your words falter at your lips, unwilling to come out. a deep breath because if not now, then when? would you really be okay with letting this relationship drag on and on? if there’s one thing you’re certain of, it’s this: you have fallen out of love with oikawa tooru. and he knows it.

“tooru, I think we should break up.”

it hurts a little, if you’re being honest, as you watch the smile slide off his face, giving way to a soft frown. you know he’s had to do this before, watch a person leave him because he was a little too selfish to give up volleyball for anything else, and you hated knowing that he was going through it again. your fault this time. but you know he’s seen this coming. even matsukawa has asked if you were doing okay in a rare bout of seriousness before. at the time, you didn’t know how to answer the question.

oikawa tooru is a lot of things, but he isn’t stupid. he should have seen this coming from miles away, a freight train hurtling at him with its headlights bright and glaring. it’s deliberate ignorance; oikawa saw the train. he just didn’t feel like stepping off the tracks.

“is this because of volleyball?” he asks, tilting his head. he doesn’t have an argument against you, and you know it’s because he’s felt the romantic love for you die off back to a platonic one. like you felt it. “if so, i’m sorry y/n, i didn’t mean to make you feel lonely-”

“it’s okay, tooru. i’m really proud of you, y’know? and... i hope we can stay friends.”

the last sentence sounds more like a question but he’ll understand. his frown disappears at your words, and while it’s not a smile, it’s something like acceptance and that’s good enough for you at the moment. picking up the ball, he nods. “me too.”

iii.

you’re in a tank top and shorts once again, under blistering heat, only this time they’re new clothes, and it’s just you and hajime. all your friends have grown up and out, dotted all across the country. you hum to yourself, stretching your fingers. hajime passes a packet of pop rocks to you.

“hey haji. have you ever thought about death?”

he eyes you suspiciously like you’re about to trick him with nothing but words, and it makes you want to laugh. “sometimes, yeah.”

makki and mattsun moved out of miyagi after high school opting to attend fancy universities in tokyo. tooru left japan completely - said he was going to train twice as hard overseas after the opportunity presented itself. that just left you and iwaizumi, attending the same college in miyagi. you didn’t mind and, despite iwa’s occasional huffs, he never seems to mind either.

and maybe it’s because the both of you are older now, because you’ve found someone who doesn’t mind the way you prefer to skip over small talk, but recently it feels like hajime has been becoming your source of energy more and more. after classes end, he’s quick to send you a text and you’re even quicker to respond - at this point, you’ve visited almost every cafe in miyagi. even the shitty ones, to hajime’s dismay and your amusement.

“we’re so old now, it feels like i’m on the brink of death,” you groan, pouring pop rocks straight into your mouth. they fizzle like miniature fireworks on your tongue.

a magazine smacks you on the head but you can’t be bothered to turn and glare at him. you opt to glare straight ahead of you instead, to the pool and the few people in it. sunlight bounces off of the glittery water and your glare turns to a squint. “you’re 21, you’re not 71.”

“maybe it’s the heat getting to me.

“yeah, it’s seriously hot today,” iwaizumi knits his brows, sitting up in his seat. you steal a glance at his exposed biceps - bless his tank top - and feel a strange pound in your chest. opting to ignore it, your lips unfurl into a grin.

“sorry about that.”

the magazine thwacks you on the head again, but not before you see his lips curl into a amused smile to match yours. “shut up.”

all your friends have grown up and out, but your happiness is only beginning.

bittersweet!! specifically, the last scene with katsuki and deku (i didn't actually realize you wrote this until i looked through your ao3 and found it SAKAJDSLKA it's one of my absolute favourites)

oh interesting!!!! tbh i feel like i haven’t thought about this fic in a while, so it will be nice to revisit.

bewarned: the following commentary is me laughing at bakugou the entire time.

But there was someone in the dorms when they returned. Kacchan glared as they walked in.

Right away, this indicates and implies that Bakugou missed class (and was allowed to) for the specific reason of seeing Izuku when he came back. Bakugou is an actions person, not a words person, so... this tells you he really was concerned about Izuku.

"Took you long enough." He frowned at Izuku. "Taking the excuse to sleep for a billion hours, huh? Or to miss the test?"

"The test," Izuku said, horrified, as Kacchan strolled over. "I have to-"

"You'll make it up. Stop thinking so much." Aizawa-sensei made for the door, sighing.

HAHA, I love this part. Obviously, Kacchan can’t let anyone know what he’s actually thinking, so he makes fun of Izuku and pushes his buttons. And he absolutely cannot say anything when Aizawa is here. So he just gets mad instead.

Aizawa is done with this.

"Here," Kacchan said. He shoved something at Izuku. A box. A nice one.

He forgot about the test. Forgot about everything as Izuku peeled back the wrapping paper and opened the box and saw- chocolate. No note, though, but inside the box was a crude drawing of Izuku with X's over his eyes.

I just thought about what a box of chocolates from Bakugou would look like. Nice, but it can’t be too nice, so he takes the time to draw Izuku with X’s over his eyes just to show that he does not like Izuku. No. Nope.

"It's you." Then Kacchan turned red. "And that's for you, but don't go telling anyone I gave you anything."

Kacchan had gotten- Kacchan had made—

Bakugou cannot hide it. He’s SO embarrassed.

“You- you like me? Like, like? Like? Me?”

“Of course I don’t like you, you stupid idiot.” Kacchan folded his arms over his chest. He raised his voice like he had to make sure everyone in the vicinity could hear him. Even though the only one there was Aizawa-sensei, who looked like he'd rather be anywhere else. “I don’t like you at all. We're not 'just friends' because we're not even friends in the first place. Got it?”

Bakugou constantly has something to prove, and in this case, it’s the mortification that he’s done something for his rival, who is not his friend. And the chocolates are meant to be a platonic gift, not a romantic one, so I made sure to specify that in this scene... and over-specify that Bakugou doesn’t like Izuku. In any way. Not just friends, because not friends. LMAO BAKUGOU.

“But-” Izuku glanced down at the box of chocolates. “This is still… Kacchan, this is really nice. You— made this? All of it?”

Kacchan. And Kacchan had saved him, Kacchan had been the one to see him. Izuku wiped at his eyes.

Izuku knows. Of course he knows. Even when Bakugou isn’t saying it... he understands the fact that Bakugou took the time to make a box of chocolates. And more than the chocolates—to come for Izuku, and save him. And that means a lot. (So he’s crying).

“Well.” Kacchan huffed. “Like I said. If I liked you, which I don’t, I’d do a much better job than some shitty villain, okay? I can wrap presents like nobody’s business. And chocolate’s not that hard to make when you have the internet. You need better standards.”

Cover the evidence. Cover the evidence. It’s not that hard to make chocolate it’s not- no...

Izuku unwrapped the chocolate. Then he split a piece in half and held it out. Kacchan looked at it for a moment, then at Izuku, and took it.

“Thank you, Kacchan,” he said softly, hoping Kacchan would understand what he was trying to say.

Okay, it’s such a little line, but it’s important. Let’s break it down... Bakugou makes Izuku chocolate. Izuku takes the gift, then splits it, offers a piece to Bakugou, and Bakugou takes it.

It’s a tiny symbol of their friendship and current dynamic. Izuku offers, and for one of the first times Bakugou accepts something that Izuku is giving him. Chocolate, but... friendship.

“Yeah, yeah.” Kacchan almost smiled. “Just eat your fucking chocolate.”

You know that smile Bakugou does when he thinks no one is looking and he’s pleased?

Kacchan hadn’t put enough sugar. The chocolate was a bit too bitter, but Izuku wasn’t complaining. He liked dark chocolate. And Kacchan had known that.

This is also really important. Earlier in the fic, I mentioned Izuku’s like of dark chocolate. And despite everything, Bakugou making dark chocolate is a sign that he knows Izuku, even while he’ll deny it. And that he listens, and pays attention, to what Izuku likes.

But the reason this really hits is because prior to this scene is:

He paused, then admitted, "I don't know what- what I did… to deserve it… it was like, she- Toga liked me, but I don't… I don't understand. Why it has to be me. Why she has to like me."

It came flooding out of him. "She sent me chocolates. I thought it was just. I shouldn't have trusted them, but I didn't know, and I. And I felt really sick and I couldn't move the way I wanted to and she- and she- and I didn't want to, but there wasn't anything I could do. And I don't understand. I don't understand."

Izuku feels used. He doesn’t understand. And Aizawa lists things he’s noticed about Izuku and tells him:

"She doesn't know those things," he told Izuku. He reached out and tapped the side of Izuku's head with a finger, and it was more comforting than anything Toga had done. "People who love you, people who care about you… they would know."

Bakugou knows.

Bonus: in fourth grade, my gifted-kids class made chocolate. I didn’t put enough sugar in my batch, so it ended up being pretty bitter. This is a nod to my own experience, and something I think Bakugou might do, haha!

"Happy Valentine's Day," Izuku offered.

"It's not Valentine's Day and you can fuck off," Kacchan said. But he bumped Izuku's shoulder, and he ate the too-bitter chocolate, and Izuku thought that wasn't bad at all for someone who didn't like him.

Bakugou refutes everything Izuku says. But in the end... he initiates contact (bumps Izuku’s shoulder), eats the chocolate (friendship), and well, his actions mean more than anything he really says out loud.

The funniest thing about june teasing katara and zuko about being a couple is that she just sees a pretty girl and an attractive guy, both looking almost the same age which immediately makes her go "you two must be a couple" and it just reminds me of zvtara shippers, you know what i mean? I'm convinced one of the reasons a lot of ppl ship them is bc of their looks. katara being the female protagonist and also a pretty, smart and powerful girl & zuko, despite not being the male protagonist, being the most attractive guy in the gaang. Boom, a "bomb ass ship". It is worth to recall that "people ship zutara bc they projected onto katara and had a crush on zuko". And if they say they don't ship them for that reason, then it's bc they read too much between the lines in every interaction they have. So, back to june, she didn't even care if they had chemistry or if they were friends or anything, she just straight up teased them about being a couple lmao. Because in all honesty zvtara can be an appealing ship in anyone's eyes but THAT'S IT, it doesn't go further than that. I can be testimony of that😅Before even watching the show i was like june, one day i saw a zk fanart and was like "wow aren't those zuko and katara from atla? They look so good, she's gorgeous and he's hot" i already knew kataang was endgame and that mai was zuko's love interest but seeing zuko and katara together was pleasing to my eyes. However once i watched the show for the first time (2 months ago i think) i realized there was really no romantic chemistry between them, nothing, literally nothing, i mean, i wasn't even waiting for the zvtara content in the show that made ppl ship them so much, i was actually very neutral about ships, i couldn't care less about them, but i still realized nothing was happenig between them and that it was obvious since book 1 ep 1 that kataang was endgame. Zuko and katara were two teenagers from opposite sides of a war that tried to kill each other multiple times and when zuko changed sides they developed a completely platonic relationship. As i said, people either ship them because it's an appealing and aesthetically pleasing ship (water/fire, enemies to lovers, opposites attract, the common red & blue ship) or they just love reading too much between the lines, OR BOTH, because they were so thirsty about it they ended up convincing themselves there was romantic tension between them, that they liked each other and that zvtara was scrapped when it was never planned in the first place. Not to mention the reasons why they claim zvtara should've been endgame are based only on symbolism and things they have in common that are just so ??? Random. e.g. (i saw these on a post on facebook and the comment section was hilarious, it was full of ppl being sarcastic about it & making fun of it) saying they should've been canon bc:

1. "They both lost their mothers at a young age" (?)

2. "katara was good but had rage in her heart and zuko was bad but had good in his heart so it was like yin and yang, and that was the main purpose/topic of the show" (?)

3. "they both had alter egos (painted lady and blue spirit)" (???) this one sounds like saying maiko was canon bc zuko worked in a tea shop and mai worked in a flower shop😂

4. "Zuko was the only one who supported katara in taking revenge on her mom's assassin" (?) if you ask me, that just proves zuko is not right for katara, he led her to do something she was gonna regret later (not trying to hate on zuko, i love him, and since i love him i acknowledge his flaws. I understand why he thought it was the best thing to do, he's an impulsive and resentful boy (he would've done the same if it was his mom) and he noticed how thirsty katara was for revenge, ofc he wanted to help her + he wanted her to accept him and thought it was the right thing to do in order to gain her trust, but it wasn't) unlike zuko, aang tried to make katara come to her senses and do the thing that was best for her: forgive and let go, and it was basically what she did at the end. She didn't do what zuko expected her to do. She did what aang expected her to do. She didn't forgive her mom's assassin, but she forgave zuko, and she didn't do THAT thing she (and aang) knew would regret later. Aang knew katara and what was the best thing for her to do.

5. and the most ridiculous one, "they both saved each other's lives in the final agni kai"(???????) and the funniest part is that it was followed by "WHAT MORE PROOFS DO YOU WANT???". Honestly wtf did ppl expect? Did they expect zuko to stand there and watch katara die? Did they expect katara to just stand there and watch zuko lay on the floor & die? And this has been said a million times and i am going to join and say it once again: zuko would've done that for ANYONE from the gaang, he would've done the same for toph, sokka, suki and aang. Because he learned to care about them. As for katara, she would've done that for anyone too wtf she healed aang once too and even brought him back to life. (I wouldn't be surprised if zk shippers used that as a parallel for romantic zvtara proof bc they're just like that💀)

There were more "reasons" but they're just so stupid and taken out of context like "they care for each other" & "katara was the one who encouraged him to talk to his uncle" like yeah that's what friends do. Basically all zvtara shippers do is REACH.

Also, i just can't see it happening. I like the enemies to lovers trope, maybe if the writers really intended to make it canon, i would have been down for the ship, it would've been interesting to see how it developed, but,, they didn't, and later i came to the realization that if it would've really happened, it would've been so... weird. Time to bring up the "colonized and colonizer ship" and how some ppl feel uncomfortable about it. Besides the fact that a relationship between zuko and katara wouldn't have worked (they're incompatible af, katara is a girl with a strong character and zuko is a guy with anger issues that takes everything personal, they'd be at each other's throats 99% of the time) it's just weird to think that katara would choose to marry a man from the fire nation, the nation that caused a big war that traumatized her, the nation that took her mother away from her. Imagine katara ruling along with zuko a nation she despised for years. Fire lady katara doesn't sit right with me, and i'm sure it doesn't sit right with a lot of ppl as well. I don't see katara doing that, and yes, i know she forgave zuko, but still, she would've never done that 🤦🏽‍♀️ i think it would've been so OOC tbh.

Another thing i laugh my ass off at is when they say "zuko should've chosen katara instead of mai" as if they were ever in a relationship for zuko to say "ok imma choose katara i wanna be with her". As if katara was EVER an option for him. They never showed interest in each other, what's not clicking?????? And zuko only had eyes for mai, not to mention that despite zuko and mai had a rough relationship, no girl would've dealed with zuko's bs better than mai. Can you imagine katara dealing with zuko blowing up over everything? Because i can't. Also people saying things like "zuko deserves someone who is always there for him and listens to him" (and ofc they're talking about katara) like, ok, you hate that katara is aang's "therapist" but you want her to be zuko's therapist. Logic? Where? And I do remember mai being a supportive gf and trying to cheer him up multiple times. Did they watch the same show as me?

Zvtarians try to play the victims about how they were "robbed" bc some voice actors shipped them and from what i've read people who worked for the show suggested to go for zk, but that's stupid, it doesn't count as "they planned it but scrapped it, we were robbed". The only word that counts are the creators' voice and they have stated they were always rooting for kataang, so no, you were not robbed.

People are just so in love with the idea of zuko and katara together they really convinced themselves it was likely to happen. Honestly zvtara it's a fine ship as fanon but ppl ruined it for me and what i hate the most is when they ship it and hate on aang and mai at the same time and make them look SO bad to invalidate kataang and maiko. Saying aang is abusive and mai is toxic is complete ✨bullshit✨ and lastly, it's ridiculous when they say the creators were cowards for not making it canon. They're cowards for not fulfilling your greatest childhood wish? Something they never planned? It is THEIR show. If you hate sm how things turned out then quit atla once and for all and go find another show that you know is gonna give you what you expect,,, it's tiring that they've been crying about it for 15 yrs , like, i joined the fandom recently but i can imagine how tired old atla fans must be of this.

OK so I have a lot of thoughts about this and firstly,,,anon I appreciate the dedication that it took for you to write this, and I agree with many of your points. However, the attitude I have on this blog towards Avatar ships is far more neutral than what you’re saying.

Ultimately, romance is not and never was the focus of Avatar. Romantic development was always secondary or tertiary plot, and the entire show was far more focused on platonic relationship development. My attitude towards shippers on here - including Zutara shippers - is that people can ship what they want, as long as they’re respectful of each other and of the other characters that “interfere” with their ship. End of the day, shipping is irrelevant to the core of the show.

People shipping something because they find it aesthetically appealing is honestly,,,fine. Personally, I think it’s reductionist, but I don’t care if you do because everyone has the right to enjoy media however they want to.

That being said, we absolutely should call out racist or problematic tropes that we see, including ‘fire lady katara”. I also agree that it’s upsetting when people bash other characters in order to further their ship, as much of the bashing is also pretty racist and/or misogynistic. Calling that out, however, is separate from calling out every single person who happens to enjoy certain ships.

“She didn't do what zuko expected her to do. She did what aang expected her to do. She didn't forgive her mom's assassin, but she forgave zuko, and she didn't do THAT thing she (and aang) knew would regret later. Aang knew katara and what was the best thing for her to do.”

I understand where you’re coming from, but I honestly disagree with this take. Both Aang and Zuko were approaching the situations from their own life experiences, but Katara didn’t do what either of the boys wanted. She chose her own path, by both sparing Yon Rha’s life but also refusing to forgive him. The episode is about Katara and her personal trauma and its focus should not be on her relationships with either Zuko or Aang.

When I make posts such as this, it’s less about hating Z*tara and more about how this fandom focuses all its attention on romance and shipping, to the point where if you acknowledge a relationship’s importance it’s assumed you pair the two romantically. I don’t read Zuko and Katara’s relationship as romantic (for reasons that it would take too long to explain here), but their relationship development is extremely important, the two of them share tons of parallels and the final Agni Kai marks the culmination of both of their character arcs. Yes, Zuko would have taken the lightning for any of the characters, but it’s thematically important that it was Katara. None of this inherently means it’s romantic, but refusing to acknowledge the significance of the relationship between them is equally reductionist.

This isn’t an attack on you, anon, and you’re 100% allowed to have negative feelings about a ship. But at the end of the day, it’s not worth getting this worked up over. If I were you I’d focus more on creating/consuming content for a ship you like than bashing ships you don’t!

Uhhg my feelings of longing sometime kick in at full force that its almost painful. I dont understand why I get these bouts at times. Well, I have been into self-interests again fir the past couple of weeks so I guess that pretty much explains it. Ugh, it just? So upsetting?? I really wish I could feel that warmed only a significant other can give you. When they laugh with you, smile at you, touch you, talk yo you, do things together, yk, and so on and so forth. I really dont like feeling like this bc ik I don't in particularly need it and i really dont feel attracted to anyone. So if I was that would make things a bit difficult,, maybe. I don't really know how ny romantic attraction works tbh. It's been quite a while since I've actually liked anyone. I think I show attraction when tge person demonstrates it first. Depending on the person ofc. Its always been like that from what I remember. Friends with said person. No feelings. *confesión* feelings developed? Lol idk. Its been some time since I've had a crush so I can't 100% verify but im sure thats how it has been. Then the question is, did I ever REALLY like them?? That i can't really confirm. In first and last "relationship," i think i actually did like him but (we had been kind of friends in the past ig and then fast forward we became friends again but we were a little closer this time, talking everyday at every hour. he then confessed his "feelings", asked me out and I was very flattered so i was like yea man lets go out i guess lol) the crushes before that one feel shaky. Was it real emotions? Or was it bc they liked me first and I was like *shrugs* "I think a less than possible relationship with this guy sounds kinda nice so yea me too, kinda." Obsesión?? Idk its weird lol. I definitely to feel romantic attraction, but only towards people I already have a close bond (depending oh the person of course) with and to my own understanding, only if they confess first. Hmmmm. There have been time were it was like "oh yea I like this guy" who were my friends but, was that just me confusing platonic feels for romantic feelings?? I like to think that can tell the difference between the two but maybe that not true?? I mean,, nothing ever come from those "crushes" like at all. I dont remember feeling strongly about them. I never wished to be in a relationship with them or anything. They just feel like meaningless words and I believe that was the case back then too.

I remember this guy who was a senior in HS, he had been given me little candy bag gifts. I honestly didn't think too much of it, I just thought he was being nice yk?? The year it happened we had one class together but we never spoke to each other. We did have gym my freshman year tho. In that class we talked, played games together and whatnot. Friends. Anyways, one day one of my besties told me that he liked me and was hoping for an answer. I was baffled lol. He did?? But he hadn't even looked at me since the year that we had gyms together. At that point I was a junior and he was a senior. I had to sat no, I didn't like him. I think he pushed for a positive answer a couple more times but ultimately, I still said no. Later that year be bought me a bts backpack and it was filled yo the brim with that same brand that he'd "seemingly" gift me lol. I was completely baffled. It was odd to me. Romantic feelings for me?? That's really weird lol. Seems unthinkable. After the final gift we never spoke afterwards.

There was this other time in HS were this girl had a crush on me. I remember the first day I saw her, she was unfamiliar, I'd never seen her before. We were well into or past the 3rd 9 weeks so yk, she was obviously a new student. She was caring a yellow sketch book and some other stuff and as she walked past me and iut of the corner of my eye I could see her looking at me. Idk how I caught that but I did. Didn't think much of it but yea. Im not sure what happened afterwards but she started to hang out with us. During breakfast, during lunch mainly. I didn't mind, she was alright. Kinda possessive of me at times??. It was a little weird. At first i didn't know she like me bc well, I didn't ever thing a girl would have been interested in me,, ibwas a little surprised when she told me. I am unfortunately not intrest in women, ir at least i don't think i am. Im not sure how i told her but did. She was quite disappointed but she didn't stop meeting up with us and i didn't mind. But she would be really weird at times. This one time we were going on a feild trip fir Spanish class and she really wanted to sit with me so i let her. I think i slept on the ride and when I woke up, either someone told me she was watching me sleep or i felt/saw her watching me. On the same ride one of my friends has doubled me and the girl said really loudly "get your dirty hands off of her" I was shocked like,, huh?? She would often say things that made me very uncomfortable, sexual in nature. We were eating waffles for breakfast and she was making gross innuendos with the syrup about me. I was and still am very sex repulsed so it was really gross to me and I couldn't stand it. I think she was very touchy too?? I dont thinkni minded thst part too much but yea, I mean, I bearly knew her. I remember her wearing a Vanoss jacket and i was like oh damn? I wanted one of those and she told me she'd let me have it if I gave her a kiss. I think I actually thought about it but immediately after said no and told her once again that i just didn't like her like that. She seemed little disappointed but we moved on. And it was just stuff like that. I never hated her but damn she sure did know how to make me uncomfortable sometimes. But I think she's just in that since i was a total piece of shit towards her. I was honestly quite homophobic when I was in HS so I said some terrible shit to her. She much have like me a lot tho bc she never stopped being around me. I wish I hadn't been so awful towards her and wish could apologize to her but i have no was of doing so. I hope she's doing well. Sometimes I wonder what we have happened if I cad given her a chance. That would had never happened bc I was a pos but yea, I wonder. Probably wouldn't have worked out seeing how sexual she was.

Anyways related/unrelated stories over. Idk who im really into anymore irl aside from tame non human fictional characters that are men. Tho I for sure feel aesthetic attraction lol I can appreciate s pretty face any day lol

Hello!! I got back from the beach today :D Getting back home from a trip is a weird experience,, Its like getting plucked from a universe into another :p

(Okay but looking back at what I wrote this ask sounds kinda vent-y?? I hope that's okay TT)

ANYWAY if I have to be 100% honest I kinda feel like a poser?? You have such a nice way of speaking about the series that you like and the characters that you love and I kinda feel like I might be wasting your time in a way?? I keep thinking "How dare I share my thoughts on [redacted], and start nuanced conversations around it when I barely know a thing about it?" and then my answers end up being kinda meh (bc I haven't watched the anime/read the manga) and Ig that can be disappointing, ya know?? the way someone can't give back the same energy after talking about something that you love, (and something they've said they love as well). I think its unfair for you to read my "barely there" opinions on JJK/AOT/etc when I don’t know much about it. But in a lighter note! I do enjoy hearing your opinions/thoughts, its clear that you hold a lot of love for the characters and stories, and hearing people talk about things they're passionate about is very nice! I like the idea of Sukuna and Kenjanku making a pact and thus Sukuna can't be that involved in his defeat! Its a very cool theory imo :D

I feel like Yaoi ships are exploited quite a bit, and tbh I have a dislike towards the use of them as a marketing tactic :/ I don't find anything inherently wrong with Yaoi ships, but sometimes there's fetishisation of mlm relationships (from fans and authors), and then the use of queer baiting to attract more readers. I don't know much about the ships in Haikyuu or bnha; one of my friends told me that Haikyuu is the anime with the most Yaoi fanart which fair, but I want to know if they actually counted it or saw the amount?? I wanna know how they reached that conclusion for certain TT STILL if you remember what pairings your friend told you about pls share!!

Also, apparently I need explicit romantic subtext to detect romantic chemistry between characters? bc otherwise everything looks/feels platonic to me...? I don't know why I'm unable to perceive romance unless the authors slaps me in the face with it :,)

I like it when characters are "oblivious" about how messy their situation is, and then little by little they start de-romanticising their reality. Its heartbreaking don't get me wrong, but I like the way most authors play around with that "trope".

The way character deaths hit so fucking hard, specially if you've been following their character journey from the start. It amazes me the way I get randomly sad bc I randomly remember a fictional death lol

Yuzuru's skating compels me become a better version of myself. Every time I watch him skate I get a surge of motivation to do whatever lmfao. He won 4th place! It was amazing the way he climbed back to the top (he was in 1st place until Shoma Uno's turn to compete) considering he was in 8th bc of the hole on the ice! I know he's Yuzuru Hanyu, so its not that surprising but still awesome imo! :D

I mean, the idea is nice, but I don't think Bakugou and Todoroki are friends? I mean, at most I think the tolerate each other, I don't think they really enjoy each other presence

I admit to my laziness-driven mistake, more than “friendship” I should have said “relationship that’s definitely a friendship but neither of the involved parts seems to have realized just yet”. Friendship was just shorter, tho

I dunno if you follow the manga, but Bakugou and Todoroki are definitely on friendly terms - since the beginning of the training camp arc you hardly ever see one without the other around, and no interaction since has had them actually fighting. Most of their scenes together are made of Bakugou being the usual shit he likes to be and Todoroki using the occasion to master his sass skills, that’s true, but I wouldn’t say that changes the fact that they coexist in a definitely peaceful way (as far as the word peaceful can be used to describe Bakugou, of course) - they make fun of each other with minimal recoil, can fight as a team seamlessly, actually listen to one another even when they don’t agree, while some might argue that it was only to make up for a personal failure Todoroki was, with Kirishima, the one to propose the rescue plan, and in most recent times Todoroki has been treating Bakugou exactly as he would any other friend (and if the way Bakugou acts with Sero and Kaminari is anything to go by, he’s been treating Todoroki as a friend too, I’d say)

Someone in the tags mentioned that Todoroki would probably be more annoyed with Bakugou, but I gotta disagree there too - the fun thing about these two’s relationship is exactly that they’re (literally) like fire and ice. Bakugou yells and insults as he does, Todoroki answers as if they’re having a perfectly civil conversation - it’s super amusing to me? It’s why I love that relationship a lot haha I wouldn’t put Todoroki between Bakugou’s group or Bakugou in Todoroki’s, that’s for sure, but they do have a friendly rivalry going on. Compared to the relationships they both have with a big part of the class, I’d say that the one they share is closer to a friendship than anything else.

(of course from there to having them just chill and talk is a leap, but considering how similar they are in their different types of social awkwardness, I don’t think it’s too farfetched? well, I’ve had Bakugou chill with Jirou and they hardly ever interacted, this was definitely closer to canon than that lol)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm people don’t think that Bakugou’s quirk is villainous, tho? They think his personality is, not his quirk - as of now the only quirk that’s considered villainous by the canon is Shinsou’s! And that’s only by kids, too - pro heroes saw him and decided he would make a perfect hero! Anyway, as far as Monoma goes I don’t think he’d be considerable villainous, both for quirk and personality - he’s a weird kid, but Horikoshi did say he’s a nice one. Kids might have used to find his quirk annoying or unfair, but villainous is a bit too harsh of a word? Well, he seems to be well integrated in class 1B, so even if he used to have that sort of problem he for sure doesn’t now haha

#fran answers #fun fact! i wasn't kidding when i said i love todo and bakus relationship #not in a 'what could be' way #i mean as it is right this moment #how it was and how it evolved and how it became #every interaction they have is gold to me #todoroki is one of the characters that knows best how to interact with bakugou #and i dont even think he does it purposefully it's just how he naturally is #they don't mix AT ALL but in this specific case #it ends up meaning that they can coexist without much problems #which is great!#while the squad rolls with bakugou's moods and enhances them #turns them into fun times and pushes back when bakugou goes too far #while the squad actively BETTERS bakugou while egging him on and making him MORE #todoroki is the ice wall to meet bakugou's outbursts #i don't think they necessarily better each other #i hardly think they /care/ for each others emotional wellbeing at the moment #but they can withstand each other and they can be themselves with each other #they don't try to make each other better but they don't try to change each other either #i guess you might say it's a standstill #but it makes for a different sort of openess and authenticity in their interactions #it gives off a really comfortable vibe #well #ive tried to explain why i love that relationship as much as i do many many times and i never quite managed to #so i can't make it any clearer than this #but i enjoy them #i hope i'll see more of them in the near future #*nudges horikoshi* /bring bakugou back already you fiend/#anonymous
