I used Inktense pencils then water to blend them. It’s drying now. After it’s dry, I’ll add the hot fox crystal bubbles. I’m almost finished!!
This was a technique that is new to me. I think it turned out pretty well. My daughter did the original drawing. I translated it into a quilt.

[ID: An ink and watercolour pencil drawing of an eye that has a circle with the flag of Palestine in place of the pupil and the iris. The eye looks directly at the viewer, and under it there are three red teardrops, like it's crying blood. End ID]

In the Party Field a beautiful young sapling leaped up: it had silver bark and long leaves and burst into golden flowers in April. It was indeed a mallorn, and it was the wonder of the neighbourhood. In after years, as it grew in grace and beauty, it was known far and wide and people would come long journeys to see it: the only mallorn west of the Mountains and east of the Sea, and one of the finest in the world.

Next in the line up for #mushrooms and #fungus for Goths is the #ghostfungus or #omphalotusnidiformis. Commonly found in Australia, and Tasmania but in recent years has been reported in India. . It is a white #mushroom that literally has glowing green hills in the dark. Thanks to #bioilluminescence! This mushroom is not dangerous, but will cause bad vomiting if eaten, but you're likely to recover after several hours. . It's #painted on a postcard, and a friend has already claimed this one. There's a sneak peak for my next #painting underneath. Do you know it? . . . . . . . #inktense #mushroomart #goblincore #mushroomcore #illustration #illustrationartists #illustration_art #nature #wildlife #natureart #traditionalartist #art #artist #drawings https://www.instagram.com/p/CoPka3ooAHn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I drew some D&D Locathah. The official Locathah art makes this people look like a kind of catfish, but I decided it would be fun if my Locathah were based on the sailfin, or armoured catfish (or ‘plecos’ – the kind people keep in tanks). So my Locathah are covered in spots and have sucker-faces.
The real life sailfin catfish uses a modified stomach to ‘breathe’ with, allowing it to live out of the water for up to 20 hours. This is better than the fictional Locathah can do: Locathah generally need to return to the water after 4 hours, according to my copy of “Ghosts of Saltmarsh”.
Sailfin catfish can walk on land, at up to 2.3 mph, and their unique gait is called ‘reffling’.
However, they are freshwater fish, so probably not suitable for a saltmarsh environment. I might need to draw some more maritime catfish Locathah!

Art: Mother and Daughter
Padmé and Jobal Naberrie.
Sketched in pencil on watercolor paper, outlined in pen, and then used paintbrushes to fill in with pigment from Derwent Inktense blocks. I've barely touched the Inktense blocks since receiving them about ten years ago, so it was really cool to actually, finally use them for a finished piece, rather than just messing around! They worked super well for both intense and subtle coloring, too.
The scene is based on the image from the Wookieepedia Legends page for Padmé's mausoleum.
Something funky's going on with Padmé and Jobal's arms, and the angle of the stone under the stained glass ended up a little off somehow, but on the whole, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out! (Especially Padmé's cloak; I don't quite know how that happened, but glad it did!) The stained glass worked out much better than expected, and Inktense was a really nice medium for getting the tonal variations. Could just be me, but it seemed easier to move around on the page than watercolor, which made it more forgiving if an area ever became too light or too dark.

Meet Loop! Loop often gets in knots, trips over himself and bumps into things! Thankfully he’s always got his nimble friend Purl nearby to help patch him up ❤️
