I want to share a little story

A couple days ago, in a student leader clinic, my band director got around the topic of praise. Praise is very important, and we should all work towards giving more of it.

That said:

!!!!!(TW MENTIONS OF SUICIDE)!!!!

One year at graduation, my band director received a card from a student he taught. This student was an all-state clarinet player, a drum major, honor band participant, pretty much any notable/prestigious band activity you could think of, she was in. And this card thanked him- my BD- for the one time he recognized her (the student) on the marching field.

The importance of this: she was suicidal. In fact, from the day of rehearsal, she was going to kill herself the next day. But she didn't.

All because my BD singled her out on the field for doing something good. And it made her week. It stopped her from going through with her suicide plan. I have never seen my BD cry, and when he was telling us this story, he broke out in tears

The lesson I want all of you to take away from this? Praise someone. Tell them they're doing well. Or even just a compliment. It makes a difference. A HUGE difference.

Toothpaste companies must really hate people who are allergic to mint toothpaste, which a lot of people are! Apparently it's NOT supposed to burn like minty hellfire? (I'm fine with mint candy, it's only mint toothpaste that hurts)

I've been using Tom's fennel for years, but am now trying to find one with fluoride in it, and finding a toothpaste that is no mint and yes fluoride should not be such a huge and infuriating quest. still got some more grocery stores to search, but not even the children's toothpaste in the nearest one had any that were suitable.

Edit: Hey you don't need to keep copying out the tags, I wrote all the Minty Hellfire lyrics here. And then someone recorded them here.

Also, I think it might technically be a sensitivity rather than an allergy, but whatever it is, toothpaste is not supposed to hurt! If it's burning then that's bad and you should try to find a new one if possible!
