idk i just think it’s a little weird that almost every character who gets the “innocent baby” / “little ray of sunshine” treatment usually ends up just having neurodivergent traits and actual negative traits in the show that nobody pays attention to. like idk man it just feels like diet infantilization to me and it’s a teeny weeny bit uncomfortable to see all the time

people really do not know what they're talking about when it comes to Elizabeth Woodville's social status, huh?
#yes Elizabeth was without a doubt considered too low-born to be queen#no she was not a commoner and nobody actually called her that during her life (so I'm not sure why people are claiming that they did?)#Elizabeth's social status was not a problem in itself; it was a problem in the context of queenship and marrying into royalty#Context is important in this and for literally everything else when it comes to analyzing history. Any discussion is worthless without it.#obviously pop culture-esque articles claiming that she was 'a commoner who captured the king's heart' are wrong; she wasn't#But emphasizing that ACTUALLY she was part of the gentry with a well-born mother and just leaving it at that as some sort of “GOTCHA!”#is equally if not more irresponsible and entirely irrelevant to discussions of the actual time period we're studying.#Elizabeth *was* considered unworthy and unacceptable as queen precisely because of her lower social status#her father and brother had literally been derided as social-climbers by Salisbury Warwick and Edward himself just a few years earlier#the Woodvilles' marriage prospects clearly reflected their status (and 'place') in society: EW herself had first married a knight and all#siblings married within the gentry to people of a similar status. compare that to the prestigious marriages arranged after EW became queen#Elizabeth having a lower social status was not 'created' by propaganda against her; it fueled and shaped propaganda against her#that's a huge huge difference; it's irresponsible and silly to conflate the two as I've seen a recent tumblr post cavalierly do#like I said she was considered too low-born to be queen long before any of the propaganda Warwick Clarence or Richard put out against her#and the fact that Elizabeth was targeted on the basis of her social status was in itself novel and unprecedented#no queen before her was ever targeted in such a manner; Clearly Elizabeth was considered notably 'different' in that regard#(and was quite literally framed as the enemy and destroyer of 'the old royal blood of this realm' and all its actual 'inheritors' like..)#ngl this sort of discussion always leaves a bad taste in my mouth#because it's not like England and France (et all) are at war or consider each other mortal enemies in the 21st century#both are in fact western european imperialistic nations who've been nothing but a blight to the rest of the world including my own country#yet academic historians clearly have no problem contextualizing the xenophobia that medieval foreign queens faced as products of their time#and sympathizing with them accordingly (Eleanor of Provence; Joan of Navarre; Margaret of Anjou; etc)(at least by their own historians)#Nor were foreign queens the “worst” targets of xenophobia: that was their attendants or in times of war commoners or soldiers#who actually had to bear the brunt of English aggression#queens were ultimately protected and guaranteed at least a veneer of dignity and respect because of their royal status#yet once again historians and people have no problem contextualizing and understanding their difficulties regardless of all this#so what is the problem with contextualizing the classism *Elizabeth* faced and understanding *her* difficulties?#why is the prejudice against her constantly diminished & downplayed? (Ive never even seen any historian directly refer to it as 'classism')#after all it was *Elizabeth* who was more vulnerable than any queen before her due to her lack of powerful foreign or national support#and Elizabeth who faced a form of propaganda distinctly unprecedented for queens. it SHOULD be emphasized more.

Do you ever just think about how awful it is to be a demigod before you know about it?
I've been thinking about it a lot lately. How much demigod kids and teenagers don't fit in with mortal society. Their mortal parents don't know what to do with them, even if they do care for them immensely. They are labeled as troublemakers, as bad kids, as mentally ill, as freaks and monsters who see things they shouldn't see and have an aversion to authority that they shouldn't have and a strong sense of justice and an inability to sit still, read, play, act, feel normally. Percy got in trouble for getting into fights, for speaking impulsively, he was mocked and spoken down to and expelled from lots of schools who couldn't handle him and he didn't know why until he was twelve years old. Sally wasn't able to tell him why.
Annabeth was the product of her father's relationship with a goddess, and he loved her for a while, but she wasn't a normal kid. When he fell in love with a mortal and Annabeth didn't get along with her or her kids, he chose the mortal side. How could he understand Annabeth's side? She was just a badly behaved kid, while his new wife and children were the normal good ones.
Jason always knew he was a demigod, he was accepted and praised and tons of expectations were placed on him from a frighteningly young age. Part of the reason the others resent him and see him as a sort of golden child is because he was placed on a pedestal and he will never, ever know what it was like for all of his friends to be looked down on as children, to be scolded for things they didn't understand and told that the things they saw and experienced constantly were not real.
Piper was always loved by her father but I think he loved the idea of her, he loved that she reminded him of the beautiful woman he met years ago. He was always kind to her and usually gave her things she wanted, but he couldn't always spend time with her as his job got busier. Piper sensed that her father's attention was occupied by something else, and as he got busier, she felt less supported and stole things and got in fights and her dad didn't know what to do with her after the BMW so she was sent to a troubled teen program where she was bullied for her disabilities and her race.
Leo feared his power because it killed the person he loved the most, and after that, everything in his life was hell. He didn't feel safe anywhere, he didn't have anyone he could trust, and adults saw him as a troublemaker who would never amount to anything.
The books don't emphasize these things as much with any of the other demigods, or maybe Annabeth, Percy, Piper, and Leo are the best examples we have. I just. They're so tragic. They're all my children all of them. I love them and I feel so sad for them

Why...why do you care about the homeless? I don't understand...
The homeless problem could easily be solved by either A. sending them to animal killing plantations & using the corpses for fertiliser. Or B. Sending them to a prison adjacent system where they'll partake in mandatory labour. It's also important to discourage homelessness by converting homeless shelters into something more productive, like police stations. Not only are these options beneficial in every aspect but they'll help the economy one way or another.
Now, before you call me inhumane or unhinged, let me tell you this: At the end of the day, being homeless is a choice. These "people" were born into our society & we offered them a chance to live comfortably. But instead of working an extra job or spending less money on something else to pay a bill, they spat at society's kindness & decided to be a burden, tell me, why should these "people" have the right to freedom if they reject everything we offer? Hell being homeless is incredibly easy to get out of too, jobs that require no skills are free, sure its an upwards hill that takes a ridiculous amount of effort but they should've thought of that when they decided to throw their future away, you reap what you sow, its only natural that being homeless is a struggle for class traitors.
Besdies, do these "people" care that they're an eyesore? No, we shouldn't have sympathy for "people" who can't even help themselves. instead of working to redeem their privileges to live comfortably they'd rather beg to hard working civilians like leeches, use the money that children in their ignorance give them to buy drugs (while being a massive contributer to the black market) & just sit in alleyways doing nothing.
These are the true consequences of what happens when "people" decide to be lazy. They're a waste of the gift of life that had no right to be born. These "people" are a disease to our society & like any disease its only our natural response & duty to wipe it out.
**Besides

I am now at a level of obsession with Disco Elysium where I am watching at least a little bit of every playthrough I come across. Last time this happened was with Undertale almost a decade ago. With UT this helped me get a very thorough handle on the way the game was designed and with the subtler bits of player manipulation. DE is not subtle about anything and so instead I'm getting insights into the people playing it, particularly as it spreads beyond the youtube leftist bubble.
The one I'm having the most fun with right now is by this guy named Brady, who is a therapist specializing in addiction. The fun part is not so much his insight into Harry as an addict - again, the game is not subtle - but his absolute discomfort with politics. He refuses to engage with any of the ideological choices, and that makes the game a bit of a bumpy ride for him. It's particularly striking because he's willing to read into everything else that goes on in Harry's brain - he breaks out his Johari windows and his CBT flowcharts and pins the butterfly right to the corkboard - but he shuts down when the game asks him to pick a side.
To extrapolate wildly from one dude's hangups, I think this is just part of the deal with therapy. The aim of a therapist is to make the subject more functional (particularly these days, when if you're lucky insurance will pay for ten sessions, and you better document exactly what worksheets you made your patients fill out) - and being functional means being able to be happy and productive in the society you're currently living in. If I go to a therapist and say I'm bummed out about all the murdering my government is doing they will suggest I stop watching the news, or, if I'm lucky, they'll try to help me figure out why I feel guilt about things I can't control. Delving into the whys and hows of said murdering is actively counterproductive.
This is not to say that therapy is inherently bad, or, like, counterrevolutionary, because making you a more functional person does help with a lot of things, including your ability to help others. It's just a useful thing to keep in mind when therapy and politics bump into each other. I read this paper when I was googling ABA for podcast reasons and it stuck with me. The thesis boils down to: because the world is imperfect and people need skills to live in it we should continue to torture children, and we don't have enough research to conclude that torture could be traumatic. This is on one level reasonable and on one level insane. It depends where you stand, and whether you think "ability to express affection towards parents" is worth that kind of intervention. But the authors wouldn't construe this as a political argument.
Anyway: with all this in mind, I very much recommend reading "The Saint of Bright Doors", which we will be covering on wizards vs lesbians soon.

My illness has no cure. It probably won’t have for the duration of my life. It won’t “get better” because the scientific community is still trying to understand it and there is not enough academic research on it, unfortunately. Many doctors haven’t heard of it, and they don’t always know how to help, how to treat it. Everything is always very experimental and there isn’t a single solution for the symptoms of my illness since every person suffering from it has very different experiences.
Yes, there is no cure, and they won’t probably find one soon. But there is something else that can be solved, there is a resolution to be found: it’s acceptance by society. Accommodation. That often involves people having to be educated, because often the worst judgments come from a place of ignorance. But I believe society can know better. I believe in advocating for the rights of disabled people. The quality of life of a disabled person like me can greatly improve when others understand that my body might work differently than theirs, that my limitations don’t always allow me to be the most productive all the time, that I am dealing with chronic pain, and chronic health problems, but I am still a person, just as anyone else.
As social creatures, we need each other. And it’s okay that different people have different needs. And needing more or less support should not define your worth or how integrated you should be into society.

Conflict, Communication, and Chemistry: A Laura and Marisha PC Appraisal
A couple of people have observed across all three main campaigns that Laura and Marisha consistently make characters that ultimately don't seem to fully understand each other for various reasons, and their characters' chemistry (or lack thereof) is an outgrowth of that. And until recently, I thought that was one of those things that I personally saw but not everyone else was obligated to view the same way—chemistry is often subjective, and it’s for that reason that I tend not to take seriously a lot of the common shipping-based arguments about chemistry.
But in the most recent 4-Sided Dive, Marisha, Laura, and Sam said this:
MARISHA: I have enjoyed…of course, like, delving into the relationship is always fun, but then relationship tension is also fun. LAURA: Yeah, I feel like you guys [points between Marisha and Sam] are really big on—you really like relationship conflict too. You guys talk about that a lot. SAM: Of course. Because I don’t have any in my real life. LAURA: I’m terrified of conflict. That translates to the game as well, I don’t like conflict. SAM: You don’t like conflict? Even in the game, in this dramatic storytelling game that we’ve made together? LAURA: No! I don’t like fighting! SAM: You just want everything to go fine? LAURA: Yes!
And I think that made things click into place for me. This is the reason why their characters have this through-line, because their approaches to conflict bleed through to their character choices. Laura's characters’ issues tend to be internal; they tend not to have prolonged fights with other characters, and their arcs are often person-vs-self stories about emotional walls and struggling with self-centeredness in some capacity. Marisha's characters, on the other hand, are upfront about their problems and are completely unafraid to go toe-to-toe with other party members, and their character development is often a product of a straightforward person-vs-person or person-vs-society story about overcoming their physical obstacles. And it’s part of why their current characters’ relationship has played out in a way that’s strange and off-kilter, because their interactions do not read to me like the players really understood this about each other before the public talk show discussion quoted above.
In Campaign 1, Vex and Keyleth’s relationship is conspicuous by its absence; even within their superficial commonalities, they are not particularly drawn to each other beyond circumstance. Vex is unquestionably the leader of Vox Machina insofar as they have one, and she does this by consistently finding a compromise—when the group is arguing about their best course of action in Whitestone or Westruun or Draconia or the Nine Hells, Vex is the one who mediates and strategizes their way out. She's very good at seeing all sides of an issue, threading the needle, and coming to a decision that keeps the group happy and together. The problem is that she tends to do this at the expense of her personal needs being met; she bottles up a lot of her emotions and issues and she struggles with letting people in, and has to work on not internalizing and holding grudges.
Keyleth, on the other hand, consistently takes stances and isn't afraid to be the moral compass of the party, like when she notices how dark everyone is becoming during the Briarwood arc and fights to correct it. She lets herself feel what she feels rather than pushing it away, which allows her to overcome the physical and mental challenges of her Aramente and affords her more emotional freedom and honesty. Sometimes, though, these traits work against her—she will argue a point and continue to belabor it until someone else steps in; she can be self-righteous due to her own naïveté; and her emotional openness can be poorly-timed and lead her into indecision and dithering. One of the few one-on-one conversations Keyleth and Vex have is after Vex dies and is brought back in the Sunken Tomb, and Vex is quickly exasperated at having to deal with Keyleth’s feelings when she’s the one who died and she’s just trying to piece together what happened.
Vex is often frustrated by Keyleth's hardline beliefs and feelings and has to compromise around them; Keyleth sees conflict in a much more literal way than the internalization and masking that Vex does, and as a result never really digs deeper into who Vex is as a person. By the end of the campaign, they call each other sisters, which I think is appropriate—they're two people who care about each other but have little in common, tied together by the single factor of Vax. Outside of that commonality, there's little reason for them to be especially close the way they are with other members of the party; if there was, they’d have been close at any point throughout the previous 114 episodes.
Beau and Jester form a stronger friendship in Campaign 2, but they seem to understand just enough about each other to get along well while not being able to truly see each other. Jester is cheerful and goofy by nature, but she also projects that particular image in order to make the people around her happy and keep them together. While she will speak her mind, she doesn’t tend to stand at one end or the other of the ideological and political spectrum of issues faced by the Nein and is simply happy to have an adventure and sow some chaos. Even when having difficulties with the Traveler, Jester is willing to work through it and find a solution that works for both of them in order to preserve the relationship.
Beau, meanwhile, approaches the world abrasively and aggressively and is a bit too prepared to burn bridges with people if she thinks they aren’t worth it. While she recognizes the nuances of the conflict between the Empire and the Dynasty, she’s ultimately loyal to the Cobalt Soul’s mission of using knowledge to fight corruption. She’s perfectly happy to butt heads with Caleb or Fjord or Molly if she thinks they’re in the wrong, and her cut-your-losses mentality puts her in conflict with how important the Traveler is to Jester.
This difference is thrown into especially sharp relief not only by how they deal with their respective fathers, but also the response they think the other should have. Jester wants to reconnect with the Gentleman and for him to repair his and Marion’s relationship, while Beau has fully written off Thoreau and has no interest in reconciling. Jester is upset at Beau’s suggestion that she just forget her dad and not put effort into someone who won’t do the same for her, while Beau is less than impressed with Jester’s suggestion that Thoreau really does care about her and it might be worth it to patch things up, and the upshot of it all is that the way everything plays out makes it clear that both of them have badly misread the other’s situation.
Beau, like Keyleth before her, doesn’t seem to understand that Jester is masking a lot of insecurities and wants someone to see her for who she is and not an idealized version of her; Jester actually stops confiding in Beau after Beau tells her she doesn’t need Artagan and that she’s the actual god. Jester, meanwhile, is unwilling to set aside her dreams and fantasies and is at her happiest when she can roam and adventure freely, something for which Beau would not set aside her responsibilities and beliefs in the mission of the Cobalt Soul. They’re still good friends, but going their separate ways is a benefit to both of them.
And now we have Imogen and Laudna, whose relationship felt lacking well before it became romantic. A lot of time and energy has been spent by multiple people trying to articulate exactly why that is, and there are many reasons—Laudna’s concept seems better-suited to a short form narrative and it took about 60 episodes for her character to stop feeling entirely superfluous; the relationship lacks any substantive conflict or disagreement and the supportiveness feels more like a mutual security blanket; they seem to have little in the way of an actual dynamic outside of melodramatic plot moments. But the relevant issue here is that Laudna is, for all intents and purposes, a yes-woman who supports whatever Imogen wants to do simply because Imogen wants it (a trait that notably does not carry over to anyone else in the party—she is completely unafraid to delve into negative emotions and traits with Ashton and Orym, both of whom are played by people Marisha has historically worked with to produce some of the best relationship dynamics on the show). If Imogen wants to run off and live in a cottage or join the Vanguard or commune with Predathos or not commune with Predathos, Laudna will uncritically encourage her no matter what, because per Marisha’s words on the Laudna playlist, “Laudna will protect and attack anyone who tries to fuck with her girl”. Part of Laudna’s core concept, baked in from the beginning, is the belief that Imogen “deserves the world”. Between these two players, the one who enjoys conflict is playing a character who will do everything in her power to shield and soothe the character being played by the one who hates conflict. The result feels less like a healthy supportive relationship and more like a recipe for enablement.
When episode 77 came out, I commented that for the first time I actually started to feel something—anything at all—about Imogen and Laudna, and it’s because I started to get a sense that there might be some real potential for tension and tragedy. And now—between Laudna imploring Imogen to move on from her if she dies, Marisha seeming to suggest at one point that Laudna may not have a future at all, Imogen admitting that she’s outright disgusted by Delilah, the disconnect between the players’ approaches to conflict, Imogen (and Laura, out of character) being shocked and horrified by Laudna absorbing the soul of the Willmaster, and Laudna now intentionally working with Delilah in order to protect Imogen—I’m starting to wonder if their relationship may indeed be on a collision course.
Now this could end in multiple interesting ways: Imogen could be driven away from Laudna, who is slowly consumed by Delilah; Laudna could choose to sacrifice herself to end Delilah for good and Imogen is forced to move on; Imogen and Laudna could Thelma and Louise their way off a cliff; or maybe someone just points out how unhealthy this all is and they start to be more honest and less codependent and their relationship improves after a lot of hard work. But something has to happen.
Laura and Marisha have, multiple times now, been asked questions about Imogen and Laudna’s relationship that they have answered with varying degrees of “we never really talked about it”, sometimes referring to in-game conversations and sometimes not, and that is both unsurprising and a bad sign of things to come. I don’t know exactly how much out-of-game conversation happened between previous canon relationships that Laura and Marisha have played, but this one desperately needs it—because for three straight campaigns, all we’ve seen is every indication that these are two players who are uniquely ill-suited to play a romance the way either of them would want to.

Till - An Alien Stage analysis
Tumblr media
Vivinos just dropped the teaser for Round 6. And after watching it a couple of times, I feel like I can finally understand why people were telling that this round is potentially the most emotional one yet. So here are my thought about Till as a character, and what we might expect from him in the upcoming Round. But before you go on and start reading, I want to make two quick disclaimers:
My native language is not english and sometimes I might make some mistakes, and I'm sorry for that. I'll try to make everything as cohesive as possible on this post so we don't have any miscommunication.
In the analysis, there will be a small mention of suicidal thoughts and a whole section on human experiments. If you're uncomfortable with those topics, please don't continue.
If you're ok with everything, thank you for continuing and I hope you have a good read! (Also, if you want to add something please feel free to chat with me! I love to see more theories and takes on everything)
Let's start this analysis from the very beginning, or at least the first event that we know of in regard of Till: his time at the adoption center.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Timestamp: 00:22 - 00:24 - Teaser)
From what I gathered, this scene was first seen as a sneak peek from Vivinos' patreon and it's most likely one of, if not the very first time both of them - Till and Ivan - has seen each other. As a "troubled" kid, it's dificult to catch the eyes of someone and make them willing to have you, and seeing the discounts placed on his captivity window, we can only assume that he stayed in the adoption center for quite a while now. It's no wonder that Till is watching with awe as Ivan is being escorted away: he probably got adopted and is leaving the establishment to live somewhere else, leaving the rest only to hope to be the next chosen one. We all know that in reality, being adopted by the aliens is not a synonym to having a good life in this scenario. But for a child who has been locked in this tiny room for possibly weeks, still not knowing how society works for them, it's a dream to finally be able to get out and possibly be loved by their adopted "family". So imagine Till finally getting out of this place, after all he went through there - being rejected, seen as an unwanted individual - only to get trapped in an even worse scenario: Being used as a human experiment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Timestamp: 00:06, 00:11, 00:16, 00:19 - Teaser)
We can see those images are depicting something that happened after the adoption center because he's older now. We don't know how much time he had to experience those events, but if we go back to Round 2, there are some instances where he is far younger and can be seen with green stickers similar to the ones on his neck shown in the 4th image. Not only that, even on his performance on Round 2, we can see them on display. So there is a chance that he had to deal with all of this for years. Yes, he was not alone during everything, but we don't know what happened to everyone who was in this same scenario. All we know is that the faces seen on the panel during the teaser, was never once seen again.
Tumblr media
(Timestamp: 00:19 - Teaser)
It even seems that one has perished in one of the images shown in the teaser. For all we know, everyone but Till might be dead by the time Alien Stage begins for the main cast... And living in fear not knowing if you're going to be the next one to die during an experiment is a really terrifying reality he probably had to face. And yet, during all that, he even had to go to Anakt garden to train to become a singer, and possibly go to Alien stage.
Tumblr media
(Timestamp: 00:57 - Round 2)
At least, somewhere around his time on Anakt garden, he found something worth living for: Mizi. She became his beacon of light. We don't know what happened but knowing Mizi's character, she has probably shown him what happiness looks like, maybe became the first one to interact with him and show him he's someone. Not a product, not an experiment, but an individual. And he really wanted to continue having this feeling again. To be happy, just like her, with her. This admiration that flourished from him is most likely what made this crush Till has for her blossom. It's kind of an unhealthy dependancy if we put the spotlight on this relationship, he would even go as far as refuse to escape from everything with ivan - who is shown to be the only other person who interacts with him, that he considers a friend - and have freedom if she's not present. It's as if he doesn't know if he can truly be happy if she's not around. I'll make another analysis on Ivan and Till's relationship on the kindergarden once Round 6 goes live. Trust me, if I start talking about them here, I would literally not shut up and the analysis would have another 1000 words. But for now I really want to emphasize how both are seen as "weirdos", and started talking more because they really only had each other. Despite the differences and the bickering, Till holds Ivan close to him as well.
Tumblr media
(Timestamp: 00:19 - Teaser)
And now, We're on Round 6: Where Till has nothing to fight for. His whole life was purely a tragedy - he had seen and experienced some of the worst things that a human could go through in this world, and despite trying his best to fight against all odds, he's back on square one. He's been defeated. Mizi is missing, and in his eyes, possibly dead. And now he is going against his childhood friend, literally the only person he has left, on a battle where he knows and only one will get out alive. I won't be surprised if in the beginning he'll be willing to sacrifice himself for Ivan to win and live. Through the whole teaser, the voice singing in the background is muffled. Till is so out of it that he's not able to realize what's going on, even the shots he's in is in pure black, as if nothing around him matters anymore to him. That is, until the voice in the end gets clearer and we can finally see the stage for the Round. Can't wait to see what we have in store on April 5th. My theory is that this might be a 2 pov video, and later we'll get to know more about Ivan's take on everything. Specially because finally he might be able to make Till see him for once. Who's going to die? I hope no one. But we're talking about Vivinos... We can expect anything on this project. All I know is that I might die if we get some parallel to the meteor shower scene shown in black sorrow.

I've seen Drunk Ratio being portrayed as a goofball but what about a weepy and sad drunk Ratio?
After having one to many drinks, the man starts talking about how much he hates himself and how, no matter how intelligent he is, he'll never be good enough for the Genius Society. After letting out a humourless laugh, he starts silently weeping. But he immediately wipes his tears away when you walk in, concerned.
After cleaning up the kitchen, you drag Veritas to the bathroom and, after making sure he's no longer feeling sick, bathe him and dress him in comfortable clothes.
As you get ready for bed, he asks you if his existence matters. If all his hard work matters. Suddenly, he felt like throwing up again, not because of the alcohol but because of the amount of coffee he drank while working tirelessly for hours and hours on end.
Gently, you caress his face and tell him "Even if an Aeon or the Genius Society won't gaze upon you with favor, I'll always know that you work harder than anyone else, Veritas. You're someone who refuses to let anyone deter you from your goals. You want to see people become the best versions of themselves without relying on geniuses. Everything that makes you you are why I chose you, my love. You're handsome, intelligent, and hard-working, no doubt you'll achieve your goals, no matter how impossible they may seem. You're more precious to me than any crystal and gemstone in the universe. "
Though your little speech was short, it, along with your smile, made Veritas' eyes fill with tears of joy and his heart swell with love. You were really too good for him. Of course, just to save face, he decides to tease you a bit.
"For your information, crystals and gemstones are completely different things. Gemstones are crude and rare pieces of minerals, organic matter, and rock stones that are excavated, cut, and polished to perfection for use in jewelry production. In contrast, crystals are pure substances composed of atoms, molecules, or ions arranged in three-dimensional lattices." He says without fail and a barely concealed smirk.
"Hey! I was comforting you, Mister!" You say, playfully smacking him while pouting.
It then turns into you two playfully insulting each other before your insults turn to joyous laughter. As you lay in the comfort of each other's arms, Veritas felt like he had the best sleep in his entire life.
INSECURE DR. RATIO IS SOOOO IMPORTANT TO ME ANON, but the man HIDES it, he HIDES it so well. Because let’s be real. Everyone wonders why a man like him isn’t in the Genius Society. HE wonders why he isn’t in the Genius Society. After all his work, all his achievements…he’s just…not good enough??
But he’d never OPENLY admit he considers himself a failure of sorts. But a few too many drinks and suddenly the true feelings come out.
You know he doesn’t want your pity. But you just speak your mind.
Maybe it makes him feel a little bit better, but, he can’t let you know you have such a strong effect on him so…teasing it is.
Bratty man, I love him.
You know him well enough though. He’s just protecting himself. Be easy on him and…maybe eventually he’ll be able to open up to you completely, no alcohol required.

Nemuri Kayama (Midnight)
You know she’ll be coming home with shit for you to try, right?
She’s literally your biggest hype girl when it comes to your style
So you know your girlfriend is gonna get you hooked up with her connections
And as a big-name pro-hero?
Expect a lot of shopping sprees from foreign, world-renowned brands (with custom-made ideas whenever you want)
She’ll literally take makeup and clothes brand deals that she knows you like or if they have products you want to try
She probably knew just a little bit about gothic style before meeting you
But after meeting you she knows all the lingo and the terms and probably has her own favorite subcategory
(My money is on romantics tbh)
But all-in-all, she probably likes this about you so much because you’re bold and you're owning up to what you like and you just don't give a shit about looking like anyone else <3
Tumblr media
Shota Aizawa (Eraserhead)
It’s a little funny looking between the two of you
When the two of you go out, he’s never recognized
But he looks like a complete slob who never shaves or combs his hair so he gets a lot of looks anyways
But you?
Your makeup is done and it’s perfect and your outfit is complicated but amazing which earns you a lot of looks too
But for different reasons of course (cough cough people don't see traditional goth makeup that often in some societies and they think you're really hot cough cough)
And all in all? If it weren’t for the fact that the two of you were both wearing black, nobody would be able to tell that you’re together
Despite the fact that he’s almost never put together, he thinks the amount of effort that you put into your appearance because you like the style really admirable
He always makes sure to compliment a new makeup look on you
And it’s always genuine because he has no idea how you’re able to do all that with just a few brushes and shit WHAHAHA
Toshinori Yagi (All Might)
Tumblr media
You and your skin and (barely) bones boyfriend are eye-catching, that’s for sure
Seriously, you’re the very picture of emo/goth girlfriend and golden retriever boyfriend sometimes
Now he definitely didn’t know shit about goth subculture before meeting you
Except for the fact that it’s just a lot of black
But he’s very supportive at least!
You’re definitely very different from anyone else he’d proabbly go after
But people don't choose who they fall for WHAHAH
So be patient with him as he tries to understand your style and all the makeup
But just know that he’ll never stop being amazed when he looks at you
Because you seriously got a giant ass golden retriever when you started dating him- man will get excited about everything regarding you <3 WHAHAHHA

silver spikes and pastel ribbons.
headcannons of Hobie with an opposite aesthetic gf. (afab! reader)
genre: mainly fluff, slight angst, nsfw(?)
warnings: little nsfw if you squint, crying, some kid gets a car lobbed at him 😭
Tumblr media
i imaginee the two of you actually met at one of his gigs 🫶🏻
He was on the stage, flicking his roughened fingertips on each string on his guitar, a harsh rift sounding through the amp on the edge of platform as he moves his hand further up the fretboard.
Then he looks in the crowd, right by the barrier of sweaty, headbanging and most likely hammered fans, and you’re right there.
Directly in front of him, pressed against the metal-barred barrier that security was struggling to keep people from hopping over.
What caught him off guard wasn’t only the fact you were fuckin’ gorgeous, but the fluttery, light pink dress that was just above the middle of your thighs. White lace trimmed the v-shaped neckline that was held up by thin, spaghetti straps.
Strips of silky ribbon cascade from the wrap around your waist, dangling pearls and a small-chain necklace decorate your collarbones and shimmer like the sheen of sweat that held stray hairs against your temples and your forehead.
And your shoes - a pair of white, glossy, open-toed high heels that added a few extra inches to your height (Hobie secretly wanted to give you a few other inches), but even with them Hobie could still tell from the stage that he was way taller than you.
He misses a single strum of his guitar, so he temporarily redirects his attention back to the gig, his hickory eyes still wandering over to you from under his mask.
100% got the security to practically hunt you down so you could meet him backstage.
He’s a little anxious because they were taking a while, and he’s slightly disappointed at the thought you already left.
But then there’s a knock at the door and one of the security guards speaks muffled through his private backstage room.
“Hobie, got the girl you were askin’ for.”
The rest is history, really. You were officially dating after 7 painfully long months.
You got along well, even if everything else about each other was contrasting, you’re political ideals, music taste and humour are practically a copy and paste.
The two of you get undoubtably get some stares.
A man clad in black leather and silver spikes and a woman dressed like a doll stood out a lot against the Nike trackies of London.
“Everyone’s staring, Hobie.”
“Ignore ‘em, hun. They’re pissed JD is shut.”
Every now and then he takes you to a more quiet, downtown street with a collection of thrift stores and craft shops.
Hobie’s definitely caught in Hobbycraft at least twice a week 😭😭
Literally loves your style - everything from your jewellery to the way you get your nails done.
He’s whipped ‼️
Loves everything about you, but especially your hair.
If you wear wigs he’s helping you install it, if you have naturally curly hair he’s taking note of each step for later on, he reads the labels of every hair product you own.
I feel like he has a thing for curly hair idk why I just get the vibe.🤭
Hobie definatly told Pav and Gwen about you when you first met, like the next day he’s at the Spider Society talking even more than usual.
“She was stunnin’, I’m tellin’ ya’ now. Really nice eyes,” He turns away from them and mutters under his breath, “And tits.”
Gwen smirks, “You’ve told us, I’m pretty sure.” She nudges Pav, and he’s giggling like an excited schoolgirl.
“Never thought I’d see Hobie have a full-blown crush!” Pav comments.
Hobie hums, a small smile on his face as he stares infront of him. Gwen and Pav share a look before they imitate the way he looks - like a lovestruck idiot.
It’s funny with one of you in the other’s room - Hobie, dressed in dark blues and blacks with an overall threatening aura just sat on your pretty pink bedsheets in your floral-scented room.
Sometimes you’ll randomly go on a tangent about a new dress or concert tickets whilst doing something else, and you’re convinced he’s uninterested.
Next time he’s at yours he had that new dress in a silk scarf wrap, or he pulls the tickets out of one of his pockets.
You’re in the kitchen of your apartment, stirring the milk into your tea as Hobie scrapes butter onto two slices of toast you had put in.
When he’s finished, he slides the plate over to you before leaning back on the counter and looking at your over his shoulder.
“Thanks, Bee,” You pick up the plate, moving it closer to you for easier access to the toast.
There’s two rectangular, shimmery-sheened tickets underneath the circular plate.
You’re shocked, looking at the ticket now in your hand, eyes moving from the words and numbers printed onto it and your boyfriend.
“Hobie, you didn’t have to!” You say.
“You said that ya’ wanted to see them, so I got us tickets.” He shrugs, a small proud smirk on his lips.
Movie nights every Friday after dinner 💕
Sometimes he has to leave early or he shows up later on, but he makes up for the time lost by bringing you your favourite food and drink from the local corner shop.
If you’re in college or uni, he will swing in every break and check in on you and everything.
When it comes to cuddling, he’s the big spoon 95% of the time unless he had a really shitty day.
Like really shitty.
It’s not very often Hobie crys, and even when he does it’s not for very long.
The man prides himself in being Spider-Punk, saving civilians whilst preaching his beliefs to his followers that feel more like a family than fans.
He can only hold on so long, and it’s only a matter of time before he can’t save someone.
Sure, the little boy wasn’t dead, he was in hospital after a car had been carelessly tossed into him by the anomaly he was supposed to contain.
After visiting the boy in hospital, chanting apologies and ‘get well soon’s like a broken record, he goes to the first place he can think of.
Yours.
There was something so special, so serene and comforting in the confines of your cluttered shelves and organised wardrobe pressed against the walls of your bedroom.
Hobie knew it wasn’t the room, but it was you.
You, so different and relaxing. Calming and exciting, understanding and motivating. Anywhere was safe if you were there.
He swings through shadowed alleys, reaching your apartment over the bustling roads and honking horns of the cars below.
Hobie perches on your small balcony, and taps on the window.
In his reflection, Spider-Punk looks back at him. Strong, unbeatable, selfless and stubborn. But as he pulls the mask off, the fabric hanging limp like a ragdoll cat in his had, Hobie Brown stares back at him.
Tattered, exhausted, overwhelmed and in desperate need to be in your arms.
The window opens. His mental image of himself splits away as soon as he sees your face.
“Rough night?” You ask, voice slightly raspy and muffled, yet still as soothing as hot tea and honey on a sore throat.
The routine begins when Hobie nods. He clambers in, he takes off his boots and jacket and leaves them by your desk, his mask discarded somewhere beside them.
You pull out one of his white, soft cotton shirts from your dresser, and a pair of dark grey shorts. He gets changed, you make a cup of tea.
Then he cries. Salty droplets of embodied sorrows paired with the pinch of his eyebrows and the slight quiver of his bottom lip.
Each time a tear drips down his soft cheeks you wipe it away with your equally as soft hands, smearing the liquidated sadness into his now clumpy lashes.
You count sixteen droplets this time before he stops, and you stand up to offer the silk scarf he wrapped your gifted babydoll dress in, and he takes it before wrapping the coarse, black wicks that topped his head.
And then he’s curling his back against your chest, holding the hand of your arm that loosely covers his waist.
Their consciousness fades into two seperate slumbers. A comforting silence drapes over the two lovers, knowing that the other will be there when they awake.

So, it finally clicked that while the average person does in fact broadly comprehend that people are neither good nor evil - they're good and bad, and have free will - they also can't understand why some people would fully commit themselves to completely awful causes or to being a terrible person throughout their entire lives. They can't really picture how this works, because they can't imagine themselves choosing to die on a hill of Being A Terrible Person.
This void in their comprehension is where the myth of the Ontologically Evil Person is very likely to come and settle in sooner or later, because it seems to finally provide an answer that makes sense of otherwise senseless cruelty and violence. Agonizing questions like "Why would my boyfriend spend so much energy on making me feel like shit and breaking me down?" "Why would this historical figure decided to kill all of these people?" and "Why would this guy go start a cult and murder everyone?" are finally given an answer, and the formerly-bewildered person finally has some peace of mind.
Because of this, the myth of the Ontologically Evil Person is incredibly hard to get out of people's minds once it takes root. For one thing, bad ideas are like bad habits; it doesn't really work to tell people to Just Stop With Them, because without something else to take its place? They're going to fall back on it.
And if somebody's been traumatized from abuse? The last thing they want to hear is that they're basically dehumanizing their abuser and that's not cool, because it feels to them like the other person is taking their abuser's side and telling them to get fucked. Even if this not what's happening, the survivor's brain is currently operating on fight/flight/fawn/freeze mode, and a brain operating fight/flight/freeze/fawn mode is keyed to making snap decisions to try and remove you from the danger as soon as possible, which means categorizing everything into black and white. This person couldn't care less about the history of eugenics right now; literally all they care about is being safe.
"Okay, so if the Ontologically Evil Person doesn't exist, how the hell do you explain those fuckers over there?" some of you are probably asking.
Here's the deal. Literally every human being alive can and will do terrible things if they're sufficiently scared and desperate. They're in no position to appreciate that nearly all asshole behavior can be explained by a lack of critical social and self-management skills, or by a lack of access to self-improvement (including being too traumatized to trust means of self-improvement).
People who are scared, insecure, and under high levels of stress will often cling to anything that makes them feel better, because they want to feel safe and secure and not in psychological and/or physical agony. (Stress does an absolute number on your body, too.)
Being reliant on a shitty behavior, belief system, or product for some measure of feeling secure and safe is how you get people saying things like "If I didn't act mean, everyone would just walk all over me!" or "I was really depressed before I found this, so if I gave it up I'm going to get depressed again, and I might hurt myself." (And there might be some truth to this one! This might indeed happen if they give it up cold turkey, and without finding an alternative!) It's how you get people conducting """scientific""" studies to """prove""" that their bigotry is totally justified and not at all irrational. ("Well of course these people are genetically inferior, they wouldn't be poor and disease-ridden if they weren't... what do you mean, systemic inequality and uneven healthcare access? No that's obviously fake and made up by More Bad People.")
People also act in unhealthy ways to deal with personal insecurities implanted by parents or society. You have people out there whose parents drummed it into their heads that second place was for worthless losers, or that no one would love them if they didn't look or act a certain way. You have people who absorbed the idea that acknowledging the basic humanity of shitty people means that they have to forgive them and personally help them get better and just suffer through the abuse in the meantime.
This is how people choose to die on the hill of Being A Terrible Person. They weren't ontologically evil. They were scared, and they thought they saw a fortress on the top of that hill that would keep them (and perhaps also their loved ones) safe.

One of the fascinating parts of going to a selective male-only ("male"-only) grammar school is grimly fascinating just because...you can see the gnawing emptiness at the heart of this white upper-middle-class masculinity. There's just nothing there. The system is supposed to wire ambition and patriotism into that hole once it's ripped everything else out and turn us into state machinery but there's not really enough of a state to be patriotic for and not enough opportunity even for the upper-middle class for ambition to reasonably fill the space.
And the product is just a cavalcade of fundamentally broken people. Some of us are lucky enough to find queerness or art or something to grow a person around, some of us fucking light brigade ourselves into civil society to try and reach fundamentally unattainable expectations, and some of us slide into edgelord doomerism or outright fascism for lack of anything else to grasp at. But all of us just had the core of our beings burned out.
And like...this is it? The entire brutal project of the british empire ran for centuries for this? Every myth of nationalism and it just boils down to fucking borg-converting the people who benefit the most from the system into components of it by sheer violence? I know it betrays how deeply I've internalised this shit but even now it's so hard to come to terms with. It's just the violence machine. All it knows how to do is crush people into shape.

my personal interpretation of cyberpunk dead boy
finished the event story today (thank you sekai.best my dear buddy pal) and looped the comm numerous times and studied the lyrics under a microscope, so i will now ramble a bit about my thoughts!! spoilers for backlit lens flare.
cyberpunk dead boy, from what i can tell, describes how modern consumerism and fame affects artists. it tells the story of an artist who started out with big dreams of portraying their feelings through their work, but slowly began spiralling into this pit of numbers and recognition and a vain desire for attention. whatever they wanted to communicate with their audience no longer has any substance or thought. they are then left wondering about whatever it is they dreamed of before this. what was the story they wanted to tell? does it even matter anymore?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
cyberpunk "dead boy." the artist no longer lives for their art. there is nothing to breathe life into. are they even alive at this point?
on the other hand, we are also given the perspective of the consumers. consumers who don't care about the thought put into a piece of art, consumers who only care about whether this will make them feel good or not.
Tumblr media
when you connect these two, you get a vain, lost artist who no longer sees their audience as individual human beings, but as VIEWERS. BUYERS. and these members of the audience are also trapped in this loop of consuming, throwing away, and finding something else to sink their teeth into. there is nothing meaningful being created.
Tumblr media
rui's 4 star illustrates these audience members quite well. see, none of the passing people are. people. they have electronic devices for heads, and they're all glued to their phones. the little child holding their parent's hand, it should be a very wholesome and endearing sight, but it just feels wrong. there is no connection being developed between the two. this card depicts this haunting dystopian society where art no longer carries any weight for the human race, and we are all just left as hollow vessels with a mindless desire for meaningless entertainment. we don't develop any connections with other human beings, and the feelings that rui wants to evoke within his audience are futile.
on that note, the themes in this comm and the cards are incredibly oppositional to rui's own philosophy. what HE wants to achieve with his own art, his dream. compared to the thoughtless robots this artist sees their audience as, rui is incredibly caring and treats every single living being with such soft tenderness. he sees his audience as people. everything around him, the nature, the interactions he has with others, every single detail in his environment is a source of inspiration for his work. every single detail means that much to him. and whenever rui encounters a new artwork, a new play or story, he never just plays it off like "YUP another play. same old." he practically takes apart each layer one by one, studies it intently and tries to understand what kind of meaning the artist wanted to communicate. he then applies it to his own life, and to his own work. to think that rui would ever treat art and stories as something to just be eaten, thrown out, and forgotten about, is unfathomable.
this only leads me to wonder about the role sakaki will play in wxs's current arc. we ended off the story with ohara explaining to sakaki that rui is interested in stage production, and would probably encounter him again in the future. the way they framed this cliffhanger makes it only correct to assume that sakaki will return and will have a bigger part to play in wxs's story and their development.
sakaki intrigues me. his manner of speaking is very light and careless, his mannerisms even more so. compared to ohara, who is incredibly headstrong and burning like the sun with passion for his work and every single detail that is put into it, sakaki treats these details like they're just. there. takes one look at the scene ohara is having trouble with and it clicks instantly in his head. says some cryptic shit and packs his bag to leave.
furthermore, considering that most event commissions are written for the characters, for the story in that event, i really wonder who this song is about? is it about sakaki? will rui encounter this exact same problem about wondering what it was he wanted to portray from the beginning (unlikely imo, but would be interesting to see). nothing in backlit lens flare even remotely hints toward the lyricism in cyberpunk dead boy (i may have missed something, correct me if im wrong) which only excites me more for their next focus hehehe !!!
this was just a bunch of word vomit,, thank you for bearing with me, hopefully it makes sense?!?

"Destroy everything that gave rise to that house."
I remember that line Tomura gave in reference to the tragedy and all that terrible hardship. To destroy society to it very foundation to give rise to something different. I imagine people think that if it all because of AFO it some how 'cheapens' the critic on society.
But the thing is AFO is the very PRODUCT of societies very foundation that was built on the blood of innocence. He is born from it poverty, it starvation, it cruelty, and abuse of power. He watched as people tore each other apart, forced to kill since youth while many people pretended to be on the side of good. He took in everything that society itself tried to pretend it didn't have and made it his identity to exploit because Society ALLOWED him to do so.
All for One would not have existed if there had been even one person that looked at those feral children in the streets. Saw they had powers and yet still extended a hand, but because no one did a monster was born from societies very malice. Trying desperately to have what everyone else has, to imitate everything else society can give but also to exploit others with no regard for who is crushed. Just like how society allows people to fall through the cracks, as AFO says society makes it easy to turn good people into villains.[MHA: Vigilantes]
Showing and exploiting the very weakness in that society. So him becoming that very house, to laying the foundation and being part of constructions. He is something to be defeated yet is not something that could easily go away just with a few words.
It like a poetic way of saying as long as Society continues to be the way it is, then All for One will never allow himself to die. That is what Tomura and Izuku need to fight against as long as society doesn't change another AFO will rise to exploit it.

Satoru makes a list of everything that is needed at home, making sure to not miss a single item. Missing even the most insignificant item can cause you to burst into tears because out of all other things, that specific item was what you were craving. It always ends up with Satoru going back to the store, of course, a bit annoyed. But there isn’t a single thing he wouldn’t do.
“Is there anything else you need?” Satoru questions, staring at the almost-finished list. You end up shaking your head, and he raises his brow before asking, “Are you sure?”
“I’m sure.” You nod in response as you walk to the fridge to look at what you can feast on. Lately you’ve been having this issue where you’re hungry and all the food in the kitchen is just not appetizing enough for you to eat. It always leads you to say how “there’s nothing to eat” and Satoru can’t help but get annoyed because he knows there’s a lot of food to eat. But he’ll try to accommodate your needs and make something that he knows you’ll like.
“Alright, just call me if you need anything from the store.” Satoru tells you, and you hum in response. Satoru folds the piece of paper and shoves it into his pocket before standing up and grabbing his car keys. “I’ll be back soon, honey.”
Your heart melts at the cute pet names that he’s picked out for you. You haven’t made things official yet, but at this point you doubt it’s necessary. You’re living together and you’re expecting a baby, a label is the last thing you’re worried about.
Even if you were to bring it up, Satoru doesn’t want to put a label on it. It’s the last thing on his mind, and he wouldn’t like the idea of putting a label on it, unlike you. You’re carrying his child, that’s that. It seems like that’s all it’ll be. But he likes calling you honey. He likes kissing you, cuddling with you, sleeping next to you. And it’s not just because you’re carrying his child.
Regardless, he doesn’t want to put a label on it. A label is certainly the last thing he thinks about while searching and picking out the groceries you need. He has to make sure every product is healthy and good for you. He has to make sure it’s the right brand. He has to make sure he gets you the best of the best from the store.
Satoru is so focused on getting groceries that he almost misses someone that walks by. But nothing goes unseen by Satoru. Yet when he turns, there’s no one there. He’s almost a hundred percent sure that an old friend walked by.
He doesn’t put the effort into walking around the store to find them. Instead he focuses on finding the groceries that aren’t crossed out on the list. He still has so much to pick out and he’s impatient to go back home. The store is full, and he can’t stand being around so many people at once.
Satoru picks out what he needs and walks out of the store, hands and arms filled with groceries. He has so much, yet he knows that there’s something missing because you always forget about something that’s crucial to your cravings. He walks to his car, and his heart drops when he makes out the person that leans on his car. The same person he thought of earlier.
Satoru sighs as he walks up to the car, and up to the person he was thinking about earlier. He opens the trunk, ignoring Suguru as he puts everything in the trunk. Suguru clears his throat, trying to catch Satoru’s attention, but Satoru is unbothered. They have nothing to talk about anymore– Although they do, neither of them want to talk about it though.
“Stocking up on diapers?” Suguru asks, making Satoru’s blood run cold. He completely freezes, wondering how the hell Suguru got hold of that information. “There’s a rumor in Jujutsu society, and you know, everything comes back to me. Based on your reaction, it’s true.”
“No, I was just confused. Why the hell would I be stocking up on diapers?” Satoru tries to play off, hiding the bags that contain items for his baby; stuff that he just couldn’t resist buying. He slams the trunk shut and begins to walk to the driver’s side. “I’m supposed to execute you, so be warned. Don’t come around.”
Suguru says your name, and Satoru freezes again. How the hell is Suguru finding out about this? Satoru has done everything in his willpower to make sure that Jujutsu society doesn’t find out about you, but somehow the word is getting out. Obviously Megumi and Tsumiki aren’t to blame. “I saw her. She’s pretty.”
“I don’t know who you’re talking about.” Satoru responds, getting into the car. He rolls down the window and says, “Now, if you’ll take my advice. Next time I won’t be so nice and just let you walk off. You’re a murderer.”
“Like we’re really any different.” Suguru chuckles. “Is she a sorcerer? I doubt she is.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Satoru says before he rolls up the window. Suguru wickedly smiles as Satoru begins to back out of the parking spot. Of course, Suguru knows, but Satoru wonders just how much Suguru knows.
Satoru is agitated, but he knows as much as to not drive straight home. Instead he drives to Daisuke’s place, scared that Suguru or someone else might follow him home. He has to ensure that you’re safe above anything else.
-
At around eight in the night is when Satoru comes back. You worriedly sit on the couch, wondering why Satoru hasn’t been back yet. When he finally walks into the place, he doesn’t look too ecstatic either. You aren’t too sure on how to initially approach him.
“Was the place packed?” You question as he puts the majority of the groceries on the kitchen counter. It’s been hours since he left, so of course that’s the only thought you have. All other horrible thoughts disappear since he’s alive and looks fine in front of you. He doesn’t answer though.
It takes a moment for him to finally come up with a response. “I have to go back. They didn’t have any milk, and I couldn’t find any chocolate ice cream.”
The milk that he had bought was spoiled after spending so much time in the trunk, and the ice cream melted. He really isn’t in the mood to go back to the grocery store now of all times. Truthfully, he’s worried.
“It’s fine.” You end up responding which lifts so much weight from his shoulders. He begins to put away the groceries, but you end up patting the space beside you on the couch, telling him, “Come sit with me for a bit.”
“Let me put these away first.” He says, and you pat the space beside you again, this time much harder.
“C’mon. I’ve been alone all day. I can put those away later.” You reply, and he comes to a stop, sighing. He takes off his shades, putting them on the kitchen counter with the groceries before walking over to you. His mind goes a thousand miles per hour, thinking of what to do. Not about sitting next to you, but more about the encounter he faced earlier.
Someone has clearly been informing Suguru about everything. But he wonders who. Nobody knows about your pregnancy apart from your friends, and they clearly don’t know who Suguru is. At least that’s what he hopes.
Satoru walks over to you and takes a seat. Usually he lays his head on your lap and you run your fingers through his hair. You two act too much like a couple but he’ll refuse to admit that you are one. Especially now then ever. But tonight he doesn’t do what he usually does, which leads you to question,
“What happened?” You sense something is up. He’s extremely late from the grocery store and he isn’t acting like his usual self. He’d talk a while of what he saw in the grocery store. It usually annoys you while you try to watch something. He ends up shaking his head at the question, making your hand go on top of his. “Is it about the ice cream? I’ll be fine without it.”
He feels his heart flutter. He bites his bottom lip, thinking of what to say or do. Worst comes to worst, he’ll kill Suguru. He won’t hesitate. But still, killing Suguru won’t finish the job. God knows how many people Suguru has told and how many would take action.
“Is there something wrong, Satoru?” You question, realizing he’s lost in the clouds. You wonder what runs through his mind. He was perfectly fine in the morning.
“I’ve been hiding something from you.” He begins, and your face goes from a worried to a curious expression. You patiently wait for what he has to say, and you expect maybe a lot of things except for what he actually says. Because he made sure to make clear and convince you otherwise, “I’m seeing someone.”
“What?” You blink slowly. Your brain slowly processes what he said. You feel the tears well up in your eyes. “Huh? Are you messing with me?”
“I’m sorry… But I’m seeing Leiko.” He tells you, and you feel your heart shatter into pieces. You turn your face so he doesn’t see the tears that you can’t stop from streaming down your face. “It just sort of… Happened. I’m sorry.”
“Satoru, I thought we were–” You have to stop yourself from talking. Your voice is breaking and you don’t like the idea of letting him know that you’re crying. Lately you’re an emotional mess, he knows more than anyone. “I hope you two are happy.”
You stand up and begin to walk away, not wanting to let him see you cry. His heart burns, knowing that you’re hurting, but he doesn’t say anything. Pushing you away is what’s best right now, while he figures out what to do.
“I guess you’ll be moving out soon. Doubt that Leiko wants her boyfriend to be living with some other woman.” You say, which gives him that great idea. He has to move out. It was the last thing he was thinking about in the morning, but there’s a sudden change of plans.
“You’re right.” He responds. “I’ll be packing my stuff and moving out soon.”
