I have a question (or two) about the crack ship about "main character of a book series I read in middle school and only finished out of spite/an OC descendant of a webcomic protagonist that literally came to me in a dream." Is this a ship with Percy Jackson and a descendant of Agatha? Also what's the dynamic between the two?

Percy Jackson I actually read in elementary school and love and adore to this day. Alex Rider is the one I finished out of spite. (I was considering dropping it during... Book 3? I think? And then a boy in my social studies class said "isn't that series for boys?" So I finished the entire thing even though I was bored to tears by the writing style.)

Yes it IS a descendant of Agatha. Her name is Labyrinthia Heterodyne and she did not actually appear in person in the dream so I had to invent her from scratch. She hasn't decided if she's going to be a Bad heterodyne or a Good heterodyne but either way when she grows up she will probably be taking over the entire continent. For now she's content just being Eastern European Kim Possible who causes problems on purpose.

The dynamic is very. Our nations are allies but I don't fully understand you and know your priorities will not fully align with mine but also I trust you to do the right thing. You intrigued me but it wasn't a crush until I realized that you were a mirror in which I could see a part of myself that no one else understands. You're certifiably insane and tbh it's kind of hot.

Hello! Just out of curiousity (and give you a palate cleanser from GoM Therapy talk), what are the Junior Quartet's thoughts on Z!Mo Xuanyu post-canon? I know that Jin Ling is probably conflicted, but what about Lan Sizhui, Lan Jingyi, and Ouyang Zizhen? Also, what are Best Boi Wen Ning's thoughts on this whole matter?

the juniors (barring jin ling) meet mo xuanyu after the ritual. so it's only jin ling that has any meaningful changes to his canonical relationship (which we don't know much of) w mo xuanyu.

z!mo xuanyu was probably able to connect with jin ling much easier. which makes the whole getting kicked out debacle/wwx download into mxy's body worse for jin ling. z!mxy would prob ask for a swap to deal w jin ling whenever, but that'd contribute to jin ling thinking that z!mxy+wwx went off the deep end.

(we've somehow increased jl's uncle count)

i don't think lan sizhui's opinion changes that much. z!mxy doesn't think it his place to interact with lsz, which wwx would find weird ("he's the best junior! the sweetest one!" even before a-yuan reveal) but *shrugs*

no zyx incarnation is complete without snark, so the off times that ljy catches unadulterated z!mxy commentary is precious. and wwx is a riot to him, too. + less of wwx's trolling teaching when things are serious serious, z!mxy can't help but chime in. opinion is that senior mo is probably some sort of non-possessed-possessed, but zidian didn't whip him out so he's... safe?

no changes to ouyang zizhen. senior mo is a weirdo. but nice, sometimes funny and trolly, and good at teaching.

i think that canonically mxy helped out with the fierce corpse studies in jinlingtai. idk how complicit he was, but z!mxy is complicit enough that being around wen ning is difficult. he did expect to die for wwx's life, after all - didn't expect to stick around. wen ning personally doesn't like z!mxy for his former misdeeds (regardless of how coerced or whatever), but holds his tongue for wwx's sake and how z!mxy is while sharing a body.

Hey Hoarder-san! I would like to ask what are your thoughts and favorite qualities of Xie Lian and Hua Cheng, both individually and as a couple?

Hi! ❤️ Hmm. I like a lot of things about them. They work so well, both as individual characters and together.

(TGCF spoilers ahead!)

Xie Lian: he chooses to be kind, even though he's gone through a lot. I really like the scene at the end of the book where he tells Jun Wu he won't change, even if it hurts. I admire that about him, and I want to be like that, too. I'd say that's my favorite quality of his. I also like his snark!

Hua Cheng: he's incredibly devoted to Xie Lian. He came back from the dead three times for him. But even though he's very OP, he doesn't get in the way of Xie Lian's story, either interpersonally or narratively. He supports Xie Lian through whatever he chooses, and his skills and abilities complement Xie Lian's instead of overshadowing them.

Together, though I guess I kind of covered that already with Hua Cheng (it's hard not to): they're very different characters, but they complement each other instead of clashing. Their romance, after eight hundred years of growing as people on their own, is very much a romance between mature adults, and they communicate well, which is refreshing. They respect each other, and admire each other, and the best way to hurt one of them is to hurt the other.

I do often enjoy fictional disaster relationships, or relationships between people who don't communicate in a mature way, but what I like about Hualian is that it works. They're perfect for each other, both because they're naturally fitted to each other and because they work hard at understanding and accepting and loving each other.

Ooo! I have a title! "Riding in Hell and High Water" What do ya think of that?

My mind went straight to two possibilities:

Leverage fic, Eliot-centric. Being the hitter, the muscle. The aches and old injuries and the burn beneath his skin and the itch if he hasn't punched anyone in a while and the people who make it worthwhile. Maybe a fic, in the end, about starting to retire (about it being okay). But also maybe one last scene long after that, showing he's still got it when it counts and will always be ready to protect his people.

Ace Attorney fic. Jake Marshall trying to get to work in a huge storm but his moped keeps breaking down. His determination is something to behold. Lots of cowboy monologue and true grit style narration. In the end it turns out the reason for his determination was simply because he was pretty sure a window had been left open and he wanted to check on his cacti.

I wonder, is ur time travel fic the one where post canon everyone dies so wwx tries to send himself back in time but it messes up and goes too far - prior gusu lectures, and it makes him sickly and he doesn't actually consciously remember the future. Instead events trigger memories from the future that he (& everyone else) thinks r visions. Madam yu becomes nice.

Wwx basically gets an Infection and is forced to amputate his leg. The wens do the amputating in (not sure) the burial mounds. Another Wen creates a wooden prosthetic leg for him.

Later, I think it was on the battlefield which is why the exact timelime is confusing me, wwx gets shot with an arrow in his prosthetic. Jin zixuan is there, gets worried and wwx is forced to reveal that he lost a leg. Or it could've been just a foot idk.

20. For FF, I can't recall if it was time travel or not, but the scene I recall: CR arc, WWX refusing to copy his punishment texts in the library. He confessed to LWJ that he wasn't planning to complete the copying because the punishment was unfair. He said something like: it takes more than 1 to cheat (I think it was the cheating bit) but I'm the only one being punished. And that opened LWJ's eyes for the punching JZX scene. Rain at the beach comes in sudden, quick bursts. The sea is unpredictable and its winds move the clouds in quick, unexpected patterns, humidity raises and countless droplets begin falling from above, cold and unforgiving.

Inevitably, it dampens the beachgoers' mood - a day of frolicking into the sun and the warm seawater is ruined by the storm, towels and umbrellas and beach toys packed in a hurry to shelter from the onslaught of cold rain and noisy thunder.

"This sucks!" Wei Ying complains, sipping on his colorful cocktail inside one of the many bars lining up the beach. "How will I get my tan now?! Not to mention, I almost caught that stubborn crab before this damn storm started! Now it got away with pinching my toes with no punishment at all!"

Lan Zhan caresses his hand comfortingly, nursing an iced coffee. "The forecast did mention some chances of rain, but I hadn't expected it to be so fierce."

Lighting suddenly shines white light onto the grey skyline for a few seconds, and the two are momentarily distracted with its electric glare. The rest of the bargoers exclaim at the image as well, falling silent for a few seconds before breaking into a silent murmur.

Wei Ying's eyes scan the clouds. "You know, I'm only now realizing lightning strikes are basically natural fireworks! They're followed by loud noises, occasionally colorful and set you on fire if you get too close!"

Lan Zhan smiles, fond. Leave it to Wei Ying to make such observations.

"I'm gonna order one more of these fruity drinks, they're surprisingly strong!" He says as he finishes his drink. "I want a rainbow one this time, it looks so fun!"

"Hey, look!" Someone in the bar shouts suddenly. "The rainbow's come out! The storm's over!"

"What timing!" Wei Ying laughs. "I still want my cocktail, though."

The seven-colored arch stretches over the horizon, vibrant, as the sky clears up and the final rays of the afternoon sun reflect into the waterdrops.

Hello theladyofravenclaw! I am surprised with myself for not thinking about it, but I have a question about The Ballad of Hanguang-jun and The Yiling Patriarch. How on each did Liao Yanshi ping and figure out that Wei Wuxian's high esteem could be romantic? Like, when Liao Yanshi got Wei Wuxian's from him, he was unaware and absolutely oblivious to the notion that he, Wei Wuxian, had romantic feelings for Lan Wangji! How did Liao Yanshi figure that out?!

Liao Yanshi was working off of a lot of assumptions to be fair lol but when wwx was giving his account of events he would detail what happened in a very matter of fact way unless it was about lwj. Everytime he mentioned lwj's name his face would turn soft or he'd have this fond look in his eyes while describing their time together. I didn't write the exact wording he used to describe the night they first met but it would've sounded like this:

"I climbed to the roof of the Cloud Recesses with two jars of emperor smile that night." Wei Wuxian says. "That's when I saw him. He was bathed in the glow of the moonlight standing over me. His golden gaze pierced through the darkness and pinned me to the spot. I remember thinking to myself, I had never seen such a beautiful man."

That mixed with the mishap of Liao Yanshi assuming they slept together in the cave led to him writing in the assumption of longing and romance so it would fit the story's timeline. The line "but when I saw you all alone against the sky it's like I knew you all along" references both how wwx described the night they met and how wwx told him he was almost instantly drawn to lwj. It was very clear to Liao Yanshi from just his tone of voice and body language that wwx sounded and acted like a man in love so he ran with it. If he ever found out that his play was actually the catalyst for them getting together he'd never stop bragging about it lmao.

poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave) all of my glup shittos are also meow meows because i have terrible, terrible taste. but especially Qingheng-jun for me

horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason) I do this to Lan Xichen even though I love him the most. he’s fun to h/c

Hello, Verm! For that post-canon Pokemon crossover, I would like to ask if you could say which specific kinds of pokemon travel with the Wangxian and ZYX group in that timeline and ZYX, JZX, and MM in the other timeline? I would also like to ask whether those pokemon would either choose or be allowed to go with the groups to their world and remain there?

i mentioned in one of the posts of the pkmn au tag (... uh maybe in the tags themselves so ofc no one saw)

the specifics of what the team comps are will be left alone bc why spend brainpower thinking if i can simulate via playing bdsp? so no

i think with how wwx handles any animal or creature, zyx would take over the bulk of training and battling to get them places safely. assign a pkmn to each person as a babysitting thing. i think in terms of pragmatism, starly are a good bet since they evolve at a decent level, strong and aggressive, can carry the humans. also zyx has a soft spot for staraptor.

... definitely getting a drifloon in valley windworks . if not as another flying-type to yoink them out of danger (tie one of the little arms onto wwx's hair), zyx has big love for drifloon

ok the thing is, no matter what, bc zyx has more knowledge of the pkmn world and has Opinions, they will go full-control freak on the actual team comp. whether or not those pkmn will come with them is another question.

fine i guess i can name pkmn off the top of my head. they kinda 'share' the pkmn but zyx will be the official trainer

- NO OFFICIAL STARTER.

- abra line, cheese into alakazam

- starly x2 into staraptor

- drifloon

- budew -> roserade

- buizel -> floatzel

- wwx attracts ghost pkmn; zyx equally is delighted (loves ghost pkmn in game) and hates it (ghost pkmn are quite dangerous not in game), now they're haunted by gastly and misdreavus

- zyx put their foot down at the spiritomb trying to lure wwx to complete it

- lwj heart-eyes over a buneary but the thing is a fucking menace. zyx (heckled by wwx) reluctantly chases it down to catch it and calls it lwj's problem ("we don't need one of those, it's sub-optimal, we're not made of money and can waste pokeballs like that -")

- lwj stubbornly bonding with the buneary comes in handy when zyx is trying to catch a sneasel, and the tricky guy wipes everyone and is too fast until the now-lopunny punts the sneasel into the ground

every pkmn is caught for travel and pragmatic purposes. the ultimate goal is to survive going up mt. coronet

it doesn't change much for jzx + mm. what makes zyx the way they are also means that sometimes they make boring and unvaried decisions. for the sake of the survival of a group, zyx will not be giving in to letting everyone roam free. if that's the expectation of what this post-dbd crossover is, then it must be let go.

maybe the change to the lineup will include a shinx -> luxray, w/o wwx's crippling fear. jzx would like to battle but he's also the type to hate to suck. so the very visible learning curve would put him off and he'd let zyx take care of it. mm would try to learn enough to stay aware and safe.

finally, the question of "taking the pkmn w them"

pkmn live in the pkmn world, with an ecosystem tailored just for them

zyx knows enough to understand it'd be the height of stupid and irresponsible to want their team to come along into a different world, without their species or anything else familiar to them. it's like purposefully inflicting the same type of suffering that transmigration put zyx through on these wonderful sentient beings that so kindly helped the humans return home safely. no.

and bc zyx is a fun-sucker that can't stop overthinking and sucking fun, the pkmn journey wouldn't be just a wacky post-dbd thing. there will be growth. maturation. emotional development

and part of being a mature, actualized adult is understanding that people come and go from your life and that's ok. it also harkens to the more buddhist-influenced upbringing of the shuangfeng cultivators, on attachment. well, the taoists themselves don't think on it as much as the buddhists do, but it's still a thing that's an undercurrent in cultivator culture.

the other mdzs members present will/should understand letting go, too

For grins and Monster Inc. puns, "Put That Thing Back Or So Help Me!"

This reminds me of a podcast I know where this group plays movies out as TTRPGs. There's a running joke that the One Ring is hidden in every movie, and if any of the characters find it they will have to fight its influence. So I'm tempted to say something like that..

However, more in the spirit of the reference would be a fic focusing on someone adopting too many small children/mentees. It would work really well for Batman, but I don't know enough about the characters. I'd write it for Phoenix from Ace Attorney picking up more and more youths/assistants etc. and Miles scolding him repeatedly about it, until Phoenix visits him at work and realizes Miles is pretty much just as bad as he is.
